TNA's New Beginnings II

Impact preview

Eric Bischoff named a four way Ultimate Sacrifice match for Sacrifice on last week's Impact with the winner earning a NWA TNA World Heavyweight Championship and the loser paying the ultimate sacrifice. Bischoff gave the four participants - Jeff Jarrett, Ken Shamrock, Rick Steiner and Sid Vicious - two weeks to name what their sacrifice will be. Will any of them name their sacrifice this week?

Potter surprised a lot of people last week when he spoke out on Abyss and Harley Race and their disgusting actions regarding Steve Corino. Will Abyss respond?

Buff Bagwell has expressed his desire to have sexual relations with Monty Brown. Brown has been quiet on Buff's desires... and what will husband Roger think?

The last sentence in your preview is all sorts of wrong. However, that is what makes this diary awesome. Oh and I see Buff won a year end award for you!

I like Evan and he built a good following in the original (as Seaman Stains?) Would be a huge boost to get a win over Steiner even it was DQ/COR and no title change (however a title change puts the higher ranked Steiner back into contention for bigger belts).

I like the team of Kash-Aries (AK-47) and think they will shine against two top teams. FBI keeps building toward a title shot and continue in this match, but AK47 should get noticed by their fine debut showing. A few wins over lesser talented teams should have them into contention in no time.

MW4 should score a win over the rookie Strong who is just starting to make a name for himself.

Live on Spike TV

New Dawn are in the ring at the start of Impact and they say they are delighted to have the chance to take the Tag Team Championship off Eric's Army at Sacrifice. They state CM Punk's beliefs of no drugs, no alcohol and clean living will allow you to achieve your goals, and they believe in this lifestyle.

Eric's Army come out. They laugh at New Dawn, with Douglas calling them "sad bastards with no life". Miller says that he and Douglas have enjoyed some good times in the past, drinking many a night away in the company of some fine women and they've done just fine for themselves in wrestling... heck, they've even the tag team champions. Coleman says wait until Sacrifice as Eric's Army leave for the back. C-

Backstage, and Harley Race insults Potter, telling him he can only dream of being a real wrestler, he can only dream of being half the wrestler that he was and that he can only dream if he thinks he can handle Abyss. B-

Mr Wrestling IV v Roderick Strong

IV was below his best even though he did have the ascendancy for the majority of the match. His win came in 6:06 by pinfall with a Sudan Elbow Drop. D+

In a backstage corridor, EZ Money is egging Doug Williams on, Williams gives chase. EZ leads him into a trap though as Jorge Estrada attacks Williams having hidden in an alcove, and the two put the boots in on Williams. D

Ken Shamrock is in Eric Bischoff's office. Bischoff assumes he has come to declare his sacrifice to take part in the Ultimate Sacrifice match at Sacrifice. Shamrock says he's right. Bischoff tells Shamrock it had better be good or he will remove him from the match. Shamrock says that his only desire in TNA is to be a World Champion, and to get a shot he is prepared to put his TNA career on the line in Ultimate Sacrifice. Bischoff says that that is good and tells Shamrock he is in. C

Potter turns a corner backstage and spots Harley Race, who also sees him. A chase begins, and Race has to dive into a storeroom and hide. Potter didn't see where he went, and after a brief search he gives up and leaves. Race comes out of hiding looking relieved. C

Austin Aries & Kid Kash v Backstreet Boyz v Full Blooded Italians

Aries and Kash come out to the ring first and are carrying presumed replica AK-47 guns. Aries gets on the mic and says that he and Kash are forming a new team and as they are going to gun down the opposition they are calling themselves AK-47. Aries also welcomes Kash to The Fringe.

Onto the match and it was very good with some exciting spots and a fast pace. All three teams looked good and AK-47 more than held their own on their first outing together. However, it was FBI who emerged victorious in 9:04 when Tony Mamaluke pinned Johnny Kashmere. C+

In the back and CM Punk and Bryan Danielson are conversing, with Danielson holding his NWA TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Punk is being complimentary to Danielson, telling him he is a world class wrestler and that he lives his life similar to how New Dawn do and that he would fit in with the group and it's ethics. He tells Danielson of his respect for him as a wrestler. He says it is a shame that Danielson chooses to align with Eric Bischoff and his Army and finishes by saying that as long as it is mano a mano at Sacrifice, then may the best man win. Danielson tells Punk he appreciates his kind words and he gives Punk his word... it will be one on one at Sacrifice and the best man will win... Bryan Danielson. C

Austin Aries and Mike Quackenbush attack Masato Tanaka backstage, and leave him down and out. D-

Christopher Daniels v The Amazing Red

Another very good match despite spells where it seemed to drift along a little. It was helped by the fast, exciting action. Both men brought out their full arsenal of moves and it was Red who prepared for his upcoming X Division Championship match by defeating a former X Division champion in 12:17 by pinfall with a Code Red. C+

Backstage, Potter has found Harley Race again and is chasing him down the hallways, determined to catch his enemy. He makes the catch and tells Race that he's about to have a nightmare. He punches Race a few times before hitting a Clayhead (double underhook facebuster) on the concrete floor. Race isn't moving and Potter walks off, on the hunt for Abyss. C+

Eric Bischoff has another visitor to his office, this time it is Sid Vicious. Bischoff tells Sid to make this good. Sid says that he has had an idea that Bischoff will like... if he loses Ultimate Sacrifice then instead of earning a shot at the World Championship as a winner, he will never have a World Championship match again. Bischoff loves this and tells Sid he is in. C

Mike Sanders v Steve Corino

A good crowd and some good action as Sanders, without The Fringe at ringside put on a good display against Corino, but Corino proved to be too classy, winning in 9:31 by pinfall with an Old School Expulsion. C-

Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell catches 'Alpha Male' Monty Brown in the shower and tries to talk to him, telling him how fabulous he looks and how he wants him in the worst possible way. He would love to lather Monty up and rub him down. Alpha Male will have none of it and tells Bagwell to *beep* off. C-

Backstage and Abyss finds a hurt Harley Race. Abyss is deeply upset and apologetic for leaving him alone. Race tells Abyss that Potter did it. Abyss lets out a roar and says that Potter will pay. C

TNA TV TITLE

Rick Steiner (champion) v Evan Karagias

A disappointing contest given the quality of the matches before it. Steiner had control for large sections of it, until chaos prevailed. All of New Dawn and Eric's Army plus Bryan Danielson, other than the two competitors and CM Punk, emerged from the back, brawling with each other. They brawled down the ramp and round ringside. This large distraction stopped the match in the ring as Steiner and Karagias worked out what was going on. When the action restarted, CM Punk emerged from the crowd and distracted Steiner. This allowed Karagias to roll up Steiner. 1... 2... Evan Karagias wins the TNA TV title! Punk pulls Karagias out of the ring, gives him the TV Title belt and escapes with him through the crowd, before stopping at an exit to celebrate together. Steiner is besides himself in the ring while other New Dawn and Eric's Army members are still brawling. D+

Following a commerical break, the ringside area has cleared, and Jeff Jarrett and Eric Bischoff make their way to the ring. Bischoff is angry at his Army losing the TNA TV Title. Jarrett then tells Bischoff he has a proper sacrifice lined up, not a little one like Shamrock and Sid earlier in the night. Bischoff says Jarrett has a spot in Ultimate Sacrifice anyway, but he still does need to put up a sacrifice no matter how big or small. Jarrett says that he is willing to put up his stake in the ownership of TNA, and that if he loses, he will sell it. Mike Tenay and Don West are shocked on commentary, as is Eric Bischoff in ring and the crowd in attendance. C+

Ken Shamrock, Sid Vicious, Jeff Jarrett and Rick Steiner are all in the ring, mouthing off at each other. Tonight they meet in a tag team match but at Sacrifice they face off against each other in Ultimate Sacrifice. Each of the four claim he is the better man both in the quartet and in their team. Tensions are high and trust is almost non existant. What will happen later on? C

America's Most Wanted (with Midajah), Doug Williams, Jerry Lynn & Steve Corino v Latin American Exchange, Air Paris, EZ Money & Mike Sanders

An entertaining opener that had a lot of excitement for an opener, mainly due to the choatic nature of a ten man tag. Everybody put in their shift too, although EZ Money looked a little out of his depth. The face team looked the stronger on paper and in one industry, a canvas is like paper, so this analagy proved apt for the match as Corino sealed the victory in 7:31 over Air Paris by pinfall with an Old School Expulsion. C

Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell is backstage, commenting on how 'Alpha Male' Monty Brown is playing hard to get. He says he likes that, he likes the thrill of the chase and it won't be long until Monty plays with his balls... er, I mean ball. C

'Alpha Male' Monty Brown v Christopher Daniels

Not as good a match as expected and a little disappointing as a result. Daniels took it to his larger opponent but at times struggled to cope with Brown's superior strength. He did gain control though and was setting up for a moonsault when he saw Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell at ringside, entirely leather clad except for a large top hat which had a cartoon sketch of Monty Brown on it, naked. Daniels was put off by this and when he turned, Brown gained the win in 10:20 by pinfall with The Pounce. Buff winked at Monty as Rudy Charles raised his hand. D+

Cameras cut backstage, where Abyss has battered Desmond Wolfe. Wolfe is covered with blood over most parts of his body as Abyss lets out a sickening laugh. Potter expresses his utter disgust on commentary, puts down his headset and runs to the back. E+

Arashi Assassins v Full Blooded Italians

Guido and Mamaluke have really been coming into their own in recent weeks and their progress continued as they systematically took the Assassins apart in what was a watchable match. The win came in 8:48 when Little Guido defeated Keiji Sakoda by pinfall with an Arriverderci. D+

Potter is backstage cutting a promo on Abyss where he swears Abyss will pay for all his brutal attacks in recent weeks. C

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

Jose Maximo (champion, with So Cal Val) v Mr Wrestling IV

A match that had only average heat, but this increased as there was some great action in the best match (so far?) of the night. IV is chasing his first title in TNA and was very strong opposition for the champion. So strong that he came close to winning the title on numerous occasions. He was then in position again to try and take the belt when Vampiro showed up. So Cal Val used this opportunity to distract Mickey Jay by showing him a bit of cleavage, something he probably last only saw when he was last perving on a webcam. Vampiro slid into the ring and hit an unsuspecting Vampiro with a Nail in the Coffin. Maximo slowly recovered from IV's previous onslaught and beat on a weakened IV for a short time before ending it in 13:30 by pinfall with a Maximo Explosion. Jose Maximo makes defence number 3 of his TNA X Division title. C+

Mike Tenay and Don West express their disgust over Abyss' recent actions and wish Potter luck if he is going to battle the monster. C

NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Eric's Army v Backstreet Boyz

Miller was substandard tonight, but when your opponents can't buy a win of late, you can get away with it. It's not the Backstreet Boyz aren't trying and it's not that they aren't capable... things just aren't going for them. Eric's Army took this in 10:43 when Ernest Miller defeated Trent Acid by pinfall with a Thrust Kick. Eric's Army I make defence number 2 of their NWA TNA World Tag Team titles. D+

Backstage and Eric Bischoff and Harley Race are having a heated discussion. Even Eric Bischoff, a man hated by TNA fans and one with a fondness for (causing) controversary is getting annoyed by Abyss' actions. He tells Harley Race that Race must stop Abyss from continuing this brutality before he destroys the majority of the TNA roster. Race retorts that he and Abyss will brutalise whoever they want to, in fact they are doing it so Bischoff takes notice of Abyss. Bischoff tells Race he has noticed, and that if Abyss keeps taking people out, then Bischoff will take him out... by firing him. C+

Jeff Jarrett & Rick Steiner v Ken Shamrock & Sid Vicious

The big tag team match did not live up to hype or expectation, but was far from disasterous. Tensions ran high throughout, with each team member being at least mildly suspicious of their partner, although in the end nobody turned on the other. On this night, it was Shamrock and Sid who proved to be better as they took victory in 17:07 when Ken Shamrock defeated Rick Steiner by submission with an Ankle Lock. C-

NWA TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Bryan Danielson (champion) v AJ Styles

A great crowd and some great action as the match saw a good mix of technical wrestling and fast paced, high flying action. Both men fought hard and well and the contest was close tonight, and who knows... this could be the first of many future main event matches between the two..? This one was settled with the champion retaining in 20:35 by submission with an Arms Across America. Bryan Danielson makes defence number 5 of his NWA TNA World Heavyweight title. C+

Following the match, CM Punk comes to the ring and applauds the match he just saw, and congratulates Bryan Danielson. He then eyes the NWA TNA World Heavyweight Championship belt and the two men have a staredown. C-

Impact preview

With Sacrifice two weeks ago, everybody is jostling for position in the World Championship scene. CM Punk is expressing his respect for Bryan Danielson as champion, who has been keeping quieting on the matter while Jeff Jarrett, Ken Shamrock, Rick Steiner and Sid Vicious have placed themselves in jeopardy in Ultimate Sacrifice, where one man will win the prize of a World Championship match and one man pays the ultimate sacrifice. How will things develop on Impact?

Abyss continues to run amok in TNA, with Potter having a small amount of success in slowing this down, though Desmond Wolfe paid the price on Explosion. Last week Potter tormented Harley Race, will the monster react?

'Alpha Male' Monty Brown has been the object of Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell's desires. Will romance blossom as Buff wants, or will Monty resist Buff's homosexual urges?

Watch Spike TV on Saturday night to find out.

Arashi Assassins v Full Blooded Italians

Evan K just won the title, so hopefully he can hold it a few matches.

Sin and Sacrifice - great team name, and aptly for the next PPV with Sacrifice in the title - can see them in the mix for something at the event

Sanders seems to be a solid fixture in the midcard and has gotten a few big wins - he needs a little momentum

FBI continues to work their way up the ladder and should be in line for a title shot soon

Corino has the most to offer out the group

as for SACRIFICE - too bad Monty isn't in the match. then he could offer to give in to Buff if he lost. Or maybe someone else will be forced to consent to that.

Live on Spike TV

CM Punk is in the ring. He calls out Eric Bischoff. He tells Bischoff that the next part of New Dawn's plan to clear up TNA of all the druggies, alcoholics and has beens of wrestling is to win all the championships in TNA and in the process gain a lot of power in the company. Bischoff says that won't happen as the current champions in TNA are true champions and Rick Steiner will get his TV Title back tonight. Punk begs to differ, he says the only champions worthy of being champions at the moment are Evan Karagias and Bryan Danielson, but he has to take the title from Danielson to be World Champion. C+

Cameras go backstage as Vampiro is launching a vicious assault on Mr Wrestling IV, ending it by throwing him into the side of a production truck. He asks IV who is fake now? D+

Doug Williams & Steve Corino v EZ Money & Jorge Estrada

A very good opening contest, and as a result probably should have been much higher up the card. Money and Estrada teamed up well together but despite showing less cohesiveness as a team, Williams and Corino's superior abilities as individuals brought them through in 7:29 when Doug Williams defeated EZ Money by pinfall with a Chaos Theory. C

Harley Race is in the ring, taunting Potter again. He says that last week Potter abused him physically and verbally, but rather than have him arrested, Race will punish him worse... but setting his monster on him. Potter grabs Race by the throat and says that he and Abyss will pay for what they have done to Steve Corino, Desmond Wolfe and others, only for Abyss to attack Potter from behind. Harley Race pulls out a barbed wire board from under the ring and Abyss choke slams Potter into the barbed wire. Race and Abyss raised their arms above a bleeding and hurt Potter. C

Quackenbush and Sanders attack Trent Acid backstage, and leave him down and out. D-

Arashi Assassins v Full Blooded Italians

Another match of considerable quality. Assassins are beginning to come together as a team and looked better here than they have before, but the FBI are really on a roll and are surely putting themselves into contention for a title shot. Their win here came in 8:50 when Tony Mamaluke defeated Keiji Sakoda by submission with a Sicilian Stretch. C

Jeff Jarrett, Ken Shamrock, Rick Steiner and Sid Vicious are in the ring. Jarrett says they are under a strict mandate from TNA management not to lay a finger on each other tonight. Each man puts forward his case as to why he will win Ultimate Sacrifice and how they will not be paying the ultimate sacrifice. C+

Jose Maximo is backstage, and comes across The Amazing Red, his challenger at Sacrifice. Eyeing an opportunity, he nobbles Red from behind. Red falls to the ground and Maximo escapes before Red can respond. C-

Desmond Wolfe v Mike Sanders

Another entertaining match, even though these two have met numerous times recently. The standard of wrestling has been of a good quality tonight. The two men traded offence throughout the match and the action spilled outside. There, they brawled up the entrance ramp while referee Robert Brisko was counting. He reached ten, resulting in a draw in 9:41 following a double count out. C

CM Punk is in the ring again. This time he is with AJ Styles and he asks Bryan Danielson to join them. He says the three of them are the future of TNA, there is no reason why they will not be the top stars of the company for a decade or more. He says that when New Dawn clean up TNA, the three of them will be the backbone of the new TNA. He acknowledges that Danielson is not part of the New Dawn, but he knows that he shares similar ideals. He does not take drugs, he does not go out and get **** faced and most importantly, he has an abundance of talent and respect for other wrestlers and the industry. Punk says he likes that and because of that he hopes the best man will win at Sacrifice. Punk offers Danielson a handshake, who accepts and says that the best man is him. C

Eric's Army are not impressed with New Dawn. Ernest Miller and Shane Douglas dismiss Caprice Coleman and Jimmy Rave as a couple of green rookies and that CM Punk is off his head if he thinks the likes of Miller and Douglas are has beens. They finish by saying the NWA TNA Tag Team Championship will be staying with Eric's Army. C

Backstreet Boyz v Sin & Sacrifice

Christopher Daniels and Vampiro team up for the first time as Sin & Sacrifice and show absolutely zero chemistry. Hmmm, this is one team that might not last too long then. Despite this, they still put on a good match against Backstreet Boyz and came out with a maiden victory in 12:49 when Christopher Daniels defeated Johnny Kashmere by pinfall with a Last Rites. C

Abyss is backstage with Harley Race. He roars and says that at Sacrifice, he and Potter will meet in Barbed Wire Massacre and that Potter doesn't have a choice, as Mr Bischoff has signed off on it. C

Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell is backstage, and for the first time in TNA, the crowd are cheering. He talks about 'Alpha Male' Monty Brown, no surprise there, and how much he would like to lick his chocolate skin and feel all of his bulging muscles... especially his bulging love muscle. He says that they will make a great couple, so much so he has gone to Eric Bischoff and he has signed off on a tag team match at Sacrifice where they can get to know each other better. Buff winks at the camera as it fades out. B-

TNA TV TITLE

Evan Karagias (champion) v Rick Steiner

One week after Steiner lost the title on Impact amidst all the chaos of the New Dawn and Eric's Army battle, he gets his rematch. What ensued was a reasonable match where Steiner mocked Karagias for most of it, clearly thinking he was the better man. However, as Karagias fought on, he refused to give in and gave Steiner some back. Steiner got frustrated, so much so he brought a steel chair into play and when he used it, Mickey Jay threw the match out. Karagias wins in 14:58 by disqualification. Evan Karagias makes defence number 1 of his TNA TV title. C-
