TNA's New Beginnings II

Recommended Posts

Impact preview

Hot off the Hard Justice pay per view and New Dawn's grip on TNA with their clean living, drug free, pure wrestling attitude has lessened. With Amazing Red and New Dawn losing their championships, only their leader CM Punk remains a champion. Will Jeff Jarrett or Eric Bischoff use this to their advantage or will Punk as the World Champion be able to keep enough stroke to continue TNA's new dawn?

Ken Shamrock's and Sid Vicious' rivalry has seemingly come to a conclusion with Sid winning inside the cage. Both men will be on Impact so where next for the two veterans?

Abyss continued his path of brutality led by Harley Race. Who will be the next target for Race and his monster?

Watch the action on Spike TV on Saturday night.

Live on Spike TV</p><p> </p><p>

CM Punk is in the ring and expresses his delight at having vanquished the man responsible for employing drunks, drug takers and has beens, TNA's founder Jeff Jarrett. He says that although Hard Justice was a rough ride for New Dawn with them losing the X Division and Tag Team Championships, he does take some solace in the fact he retained the World Championship and therefore has kept a level of power in TNA, enough power to enable the New Dawn to continue and prevent TNA from falling back on the slippery slope away from clean living, professionalism and athleticism.</p><p>

Punk then gets interrupted.</p><p> </p><p>

<iframe width="425" height="349" src="<a href="http://www.youtube.com/embed/kfEbatMYmiQ" rel="external nofollow">http://www.youtube.com/embed/kfEbatMYmiQ"</a> frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p><p> </p><p>

Out walks Harley Race with his monster Abyss. Punk has a look of annoyance at being interrupted and also waryness at the sight of the monster coming to the ring. Harley Race address Punk by saying that while Punk has been concerned fighting his war on Jarrett and all the drunks and drug takers, Abyss has been destroying people. Race says that it's about time that Abyss destroys TNA and by that he will destroy the champion.</p><p>

With that, Abyss clubs Punk in the head. He lifts him up and gives him a Shock Treatment before following up with a Black Hole Slam. Abyss picks up the NWA TNA World Heavyweight Championship and holds it aloft, before dropping it across Punk's mid riff. Race tells Punk that Punk has his Victory Road opponent standing over him. <strong>C+</strong> </p><p> </p><p>

Eric Bischoff is in his office when Full Blooded Italians barge in, both Guido and Mamaluke are pissed off. They shout at Bischoff first in Italian, before translating and shouting at him in English that they were ripped off at Hard Justice. They earned the number one contendership and Bischoff put his boys in a match they didn't belong. Bischoff disagrees, saying they did belong because they won, but he will do something for FBI. He grants them a shot at the titles on the next edition of Explosion. <strong>C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Dick Togo v TJ Wilson</strong></p><p>

A solid contest that the crowd appeared to have very little interest in. Japan, being two down in the best of five series, meant Togo had to beat his young Canadian opponent. Togo did so to keep the series alive, his essential triumph coming in 6:01 by pinfall with a Diving Senton. <strong>D+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Desmond Wolfe speaks from the backstage interview area where challenges EZ Money to a match. <strong>D+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Vampiro is putting the boots to Mr Wrestling IV backstage, seemingly frustrated at IV's tenacity in their ongoing war as IV keeps coming back from everything Vampiro has been giving him. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>'Alpha Male' Monty Brown & Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell v The Young Bucks</strong></p><p>

Neither Monty nor Buff were anything near their best tonight and yet they still had enough to defeat The Young Bucks. Monty is appearing to be warming to Buff more now, more so because they have a good record as a team in the ring and not because Buff keeps trying to enter Monty's brown ring. He even tried to during the match when Monty missed a corner splash, Buff entered the ring and started to dry hump Monty from behind. Monty pushed Buff hard to the mat before closing the match in 7:20 when 'Alpha Male' Monty Brown defeated Nick Buck by pinfall with a spear. Monty quickly left without Buff, seething at Buff's behaviour. So much for warming to him! <strong>D</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Eric Bischoff has 'The Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels and The Amazing Red backstage. Red is angry and disappointed at how he lost the X Division Championship last Sunday, but Bischoff praises Daniels for his work of genius in recent weeks, first by beating Paul London for the Feast or Fired briefcase and then by cashing it in to great effect to win the X Division Championship. He tells Red to settle down and he will get his rematch at Victory Road. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Sid Vicious has a microphone. He says he is feeling a million dollars at having taken care of Ken Shamrock and as he is feeling so great, he issues an open challenge for Victory Road. <strong>C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSS9x6o5E2HI2l1LroZ43KhcFZ9Y_YCIsWnkiWN8iF7KtdkgzSM</span></p><p>

<strong>NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

Eric's Army (champions) v Pride of Britain</strong></p><p>

An easy title defence for the new two time champions as they disposed of their British challengers with some ease, even if they did decide to take their time to do it a little. The win came in 8:23 when Ernest Miller defeated Pac by pinfall with a Feliner Kick. Eric's Army I make defence number 1 of their NWA TNA World Tag Team titles. <strong>D+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

As soon as the champions have defended their titles, New Dawn appear on the video screen bursting into Eric Bischoff's office. They, like FBI earlier, are angry that he let "his boys" into the Hard Justice title match, saying it should have been them and the number one contenders. Bischoff looks afraid, he has two angry young ex champions in his office and no back up around. Back into a corner, he gives New Dawn a rematch at Victory Road against the winners of the Explosion match. New Dawn like this but warn Bischoff "not to play any more games". <strong>D+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Mr Wrestling IV is hobbling backstage when Ken Shamrock walks past and laughs at him, for being beat up earlier. IV turns round looking mad and goes to attack Shamrock, only to be held back by officials. Shamrock shouts from behind the security men that if IV wants him so badly, he can at Victory Road. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>TNA TV TITLE</strong></p><p><strong>

Mike Quackenbush (champion) v Masato Tanaka</strong></p><p>

Quackenbush put in a poor showing in his first title defence but just about managed to scrape by the Japanese tough nut, with Quack's victory coming in 15:03 by pinfall with a Quackendriver. Mike Quackenbush makes defence number 1 of his TNA TV title. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

AJ Styles is backstage, minding his own business when Jeff Jarrett walks by. For some reason, Jarrett thinks Styles is making fun about Jarrett's loss to CM Punk in the Hard Justice main event. AJ protests his innocence, but this riles Jarrett even more with Jarrett claiming that this "pretty innocent blue eyed boy needs teaching a lesson". AJ stares down Jarrett and asks what his problem is, before Jarrett walks off. <strong>C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Back in Bischoff's office, and Bischoff is apologising to his Army, the new Tag Team champions for booking them in two title matches in the next months. Miller and Douglas tells Bischoff not to worry about it as they can take care of business. Bischoff perks up. <strong>C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Air Paris v Jerry Lynn</strong></p><p>

Main event time and Paris was disappointing as Lynn largely had control of what proved to be a long and very good match which would have looked good on pay per view. Paris did score a couple of near falls but Lynn was never seriously threatened apart from Bryan Danielson made an appearance and attacked Lynn while referee Patrick Hernandez was tending to Paris, who was feigning injury. Lynn recovered from this run in and took the main event in 22:09 by pinfall with a Cradle Piledriver. <strong>C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

maybe a chance to sign some of the WWE guys for short-term stints (as I can only guess the drop to Cult will be temporary and they will re-sign their contract guys when they jump back to national). That is IF they release some good quality guys. But a short invasion to get some of your guys some big wins and some possible bigger national exposure could be worth it.

Keep hoping for a solid B main event and Paris-Lynn almost got you there. This match could be the show-stealer with a good build and both guys on fire (instead of the recent slump seen by Paris). I'd still like to see the team of Paris and Styles at some point - AirRaid was a dynamic team in their day and could a new dimension to your tagteam ranks (and aid in AJ's upcoming feud with Jarrett).

You've done well building up Abyss in recent weeks as the top contender for world title and should be a great match with Punk.

Cheers Olympia.

I'm very interested to see who is going to be released by WWE and will certainly look to be signing some of them. The wrestling industry has completely bottomed out in USA (which explains me losing around 0.2 on my TV ratings) and is at F-, but is rising.

Paris' run of defeats will come to an end soon and he will climb back up. I'm not sure how to do it just yet.

Abyss v Punk could well make for a very interesting match...

Impact preview

CM Punk has his hands full. Not only is Abyss gunning for him and his title, but in light of cutbacks in WWE, Eric Bischoff and TNA management are keen to make the most of their rivals troubles and have book CM Punk in a title defence on Impact against Ken Shamrock. Is the New Dawn of TNA approaching an end?

Last week Sid Vicious issued an open challenge for anybody in TNA to face him at Victory Road. Will anybody respond?

Also last week, Jeff Jarrett behaved oddly and harshly towards AJ Styles. Will either Styles react or Jarrett explain his actions?

Watch Spike TV on Saturday night to see all the action.

Live on Spike TV

CM Punk is in ring and expresses his mild shock at Abyss' attack on him last week. He has noticed that Abyss has been running rough shod over much of TNA over the last few months and as World Champion, that Punk has a target on him. Abyss caught him by surprise and he will have to change gears now and focus on a large threat rather than the greater task at hand for the time being.

Abyss' music plays again and again Harley Race interrupts, with Abyss at his side. Race tells Punk that he is right on one thing... he has a very large threat to contend with and one that will take his World Championship. With that, Abyss again hits the Shock Treatment and the Black Hole Slam to leave Punk laying. C-

EZ Money appears on the screen and tells Desmond Wolfe that he accepts the challenge he made on Impact last week. D-

In what was probably the worst match TNA has ever broadcast where both men were poor, Ali closed the gap in 5:30 by pinfall with a Lifting Falling Reverse DDT. F+

ITALY 2 IRAN 1

Backstage and three members of CM Punk's New Dawn - AJ Styles, Evan Karagias and The Amazing Red are together and saying that they will stand up for TNA and up to The Fringe, who have been running about like a gang backstage which is very unprofessional. D+

Mr Wrestling cuts a promo where he says that he cannot wait to finally get the better of Vampiro in the no disqualification match. C-

AK-47 v Pride of Britain

A significant improvement after the aboration of the opening contest. Though this tag team affair following that dross made this look better than it was. AK-47 looked slick throughout with Doug Williams looking like he was carrying his partner Pac through much of the match. The contest ended with a Fringe win in 8:11 when Austin Aries defeated Pac by pinfall with a 450° splash. D+

Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell is backstage with The Godfather and 'Alpha Male' Monty Brown. Buff says he is delighted that The Godfather has worked his magic on Monty Brown for him and that they will now be life partners. Godfather and Monty both look at Buff and ask him what the hell is he on about. Buff says that Godfather got he and Monty together and now they are life partners, Monty and he have to consumate their relationship, he says as he grabs Monty's penis. Monty explodes and Godfather plays peace maker, saying they have to work together at Victory Road against Latin American Exchange. B-

A training video is shown of Jerry Lynn beginning his preparations for his Victory Road match against Bryan Danielson. The video primarily focuses on in ring 'sparring'. D+

TNA TV TITLE

Mike Quackenbush (champion) v Desmond Wolfe

A good match lifted by a pairing who appear to share great chemistry in the ring. It was hugely refreshing from earlier and a big uplift to the show. Wolfe was a dangerous opponent but Quackenbush for the second week running managed to sneak onee in 10:22 by pinfall with a Quackendriver. Mike Quackenbush makes defence number 2 of his TNA TV title. C+

Eric Bischoff is backstage with his Army and current Tag Team Champions, Ernest Miller and Shane Douglas. They talk themselves up as the best Tag Team Champions ever in TNA and Bischoff adds that they are one of only two two time champions... and look where Backstreet Boyz are now. C+

CM Punk is backstage with his tag team, New Dawn. He gives them a pep talk while drinking a Pepsi. He says that all three off them face tough challenges ahead but he knows that all three of them can overcome these challenges as they are the superior athletes and live by the right attitude. Caprice Coleman and Jimmy Rave are in agreement. D

Mike Sanders v Satoshi Kojima

An entertaining contest where Kojima certainly gave Sanders a lot more trouble than Sanders expected, as he was arrogant going into the match. Out of all the guys signed by TNA to take part in the first TNA Nations Cup, Kojima looks like he is going to be one that has a future in TNA as he has settled in nicely and putting in some good performances. Sanders did eventually managed to win, but Kojima comes out of this looking good. Sanders' win came in 11:12 by pinfall with a Thriller Killer. C

Eric Bischoff has come across Sid Vicious backstage. He says it's funny that Sid issue an open challenge last week because Eric Bischoff is going to answer it. Sid licks his lips at that prospect, but Eric soon disappoints the big man by saying it won't be him that will wrestle him, he will select somebody to. C

Jeff Jarrett speaks out on AJ Styles. He says a lot of people have approached him this last week asking him why he treated AJ like he did last week. Jarrett says it is simple, he is sick of whining little ****s like him who bleat on about not taking drugs, drinking and being athletes. Jarrett tells AJ to wake up and learn the business. C+

NWA TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

CM Punk (champion) v Ken Shamrock

A pay per view quality main event as TNA looks to benefit from WWE's troubles turned out to be a disappointment as Punk and Shamrock struggled to get a flow together in the ring. Shamrock looked dangerous as ever but Punk proved he won't be a man that will be dethroned easily as he handled Shamrock's best and retained in 20:13 by pinfall with a Pepsi Plunge. CM Punk makes defence number 5 of his NWA TNA World Heavyweight title. D+

Impact Preview

In the last two weeks, Abyss has brutalised TNA's World Champion, CM Punk. Can CM Punk mount any sort of comeback and build momentum on the road to Victory Road?

Jeff Jarrett has not been backward in coming forward about his dislike for AJ Styles, his beliefs and what he stands for. The majority are siding with AJ, and this is likely to anger Jarrett further.

Will Eric Bischoff reveal his opponent for Sid Vicious at Victory Road?
