TNA TV TITLE - Doug Williams (champion) v Kid Kash

I like Douglas as champ. Think he is a good standard bearer for the division.

TNA NATIONS CUP SEMI FINAL MATCH 3 - USA II (Mike Quackenbush & Mike Sanders) v Japan (Dick Togo & Satoshi Kojima) - USA II lead 2-0

Whilst I prefer the two Mikes, Japan are more in need of a win here.

Abyss (World Champion), Bryan Danielson, Jeff Jarrett & Ken Shamrock v CM Punk, Jerry Lynn, Mr Wrestling IV & Steve Corino

These four would make a great little stable. I think Abyss will pick up the pinfall

Ernest Miller & Jose Maximo (Tag Team Champions), Double X (Frankie Kazarian & Rocky Romero & Teddy Hart v 'Alpha Male' Monty Brown, Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell, America's Most Wanted ('Cowboy' James Storm & 'Wildcat' Chris Harris) & Sid Vicious

Well, I chose these because I would have thought Teddy Hart would be winning his first official match, but this could really go either way. Perhaps Hart lose, but not be the losing participant? Anyway, I'll stick with my gut. Even though it always does me wrong. Lousy gut. Teddy Hart to get the pin.

'Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels (X Division Champion), Latin American Exchange (Hernandez & Jorge Estrada) & Vampiro v CM Punk's New Dawn (AJ Styles, Caprice Coleman, Jimmy Rave & The Amazing Red)

Daniels is champ, Vampiro is returning, LAX are bad ass, can't see past them winning. Vampiro with the pin

BONUS POINTS - Three possible, one for correctly naming the wrestler who scores the fall in each of the big tag team matches.

Abyss, Teddy Hart, Vampiro.

TNA TV TITLE - Doug Williams (champion) v Kid Kash

why not stir it up early and often and go for the upset

TNA NATIONS CUP SEMI FINAL MATCH 3 - USA II (Mike Quackenbush & Mike Sanders) v Japan (Dick Togo & Satoshi Kojima) - USA II lead 2-0

ice it and put it in the bag

Sanders get the win

Abyss (World Champion), Bryan Danielson, Jeff Jarrett & Ken Shamrock v CM Punk, Jerry Lynn, Mr Wrestling IV & Steve Corino

Jarrett has been slumping of late and letting some others shine. This would be a nice payback, leading his team to the winner's circle

Ernest Miller & Jose Maximo (Tag Team Champions), Double X (Frankie Kazarian & Rocky Romero & Teddy Hart v 'Alpha Male' Monty Brown, Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell, America's Most Wanted ('Cowboy' James Storm & 'Wildcat' Chris Harris) & Sid Vicious

At first bagwell is distracted and interested in Sid, Harris, etc. He finally get Kaz and pins his legs over his head. Tag champs give him and Monty a beat down after the match to add some heat to their upcoming PPV match.

'Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels (X Division Champion), Latin American Exchange (Hernandez & Jorge Estrada) & Vampiro v CM Punk's New Dawn (AJ Styles, Caprice Coleman, Jimmy Rave & The Amazing Red)

AJ Styles

BONUS POINTS - Three possible, one for correctly naming the wrestler who scores the fall in each of the big tag team matches.

Sanders, Jarrett, Bagwell, and Styles

I've gotta say if I read through the whole thing, it probably was, and I'll start doing predictions after this current contest as I have no chance at winning and would rather start doing so when I can surprise the others by taking one.

You would still beat Jonny Cosmic if you entered now. :D

PRE SHOW

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Roderick Strong defeated Robert Roode in 8:26 by submission with a Stronghold. C+

Impact

Saturday, week 3, October 2004

Christl Arena, West Point, NY.

Live on Spike TV

Video footage labelled earlier today is shown at the start of Impact. We are at a gas station and CM Punk is there filling up his car. Once he is done dispensing the fuel, he starts making his way to pay where Abyss appears from seemingly nowhere and starts raining in punches on Punk. He finishes Punk off by slamming him on the trunk of his car and then throwing him into a petrol pump. C

Full Blooded Italians are speaking against their Nations Cup match against Mexico tomorrow night. They remark that tomorrow night is all or nothing. C-

Mike Quackenbush & Mike Sanders v Dick Togo & Satoshi Kojima

Togo was off his game tonight... but thankfully for him and Japan, Kojima was excellent and won the match almost single handedly to keep Japan in the semi final series. Kojima was complaining of having back pain afterwards having carried Togo through the match. The win came in 6:34 when Satoshi Kojima defeated Mike Quackenbush by pinfall with a Lariat. C

USA II lead Japan 2-1

A video plays hyping Jerry Lynn vs. Ken Shamrock for tomorrow night. C[/b

Christopher Daniels is backstage where he is seen with Johnny Kashmere. Kashmere says he is the man who will replace Air Paris in Ultimate X and that he will take Daniels' X Division Championship. Daniels just laughs at him and leaves. D

'Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels (X Division Champion), Latin American Exchange (Hernandez & Estrada) & Vampiro v CM Punk's New Dawn (AJ Styles, Caprice Coleman, Jimmy Rave & The Amazing Red)

Vampiro performed well in his first match following his injury which was in contrast to Jimmy Rave who under performed. The match was exciting and had a healthy mix of wrestling styles and really benefitted from it as the eight men put on one of TNA's better matches. CM Punk's New Dawn came away victorious in 10:28 when Caprice Coleman defeated Vampiro by pinfall with a Thermal Shock. B-

Backstage and Sid Vicious and Teddy Hart are arguing about why Hart is being allowed to compete in the eight man tag team match tonight when he is under contract to WWE and not to TNA. Jimmy Hart arrives and tries to calm the situation down, telling them to do their fighting in the ring later. This has no effect, as the two start brawling with Sid getting the better of Teddy before a hoard of security guards arrive to break it up. C

Jerry Lynn is backstage where he says he has been sparring with a number of submission based fighters and feels fully prepared for his submission match with Ken Shamrock tomorrow night. C

TNA TV TITLE

Doug Williams v Kid Kash

Another high quality match as TNA maintains it's upwards momentum in terms of quality of in ring action. Williams and Kash went back and forth with the challenger proving a strong opponent for the champion. Williams managed to prevail in 7:20 by pinfall with a Chaos Theory. Doug Williams makes defence number 7 of his TNA TV title. C+

AJ Styles was backstage speaking about his match with Vampiro tomorrow night and that he was with Vampiro's performance on his return to action tonight. Vampiro entered the scene and warned Vampiro he has a lot more to come tomorrow. C-

Ernest Miller and Jose Maximo are saying how they will defend their titles tomorrow night against those "sick queers" tomorrow night before suddenly stopping mid sentence. Buff Bagwell and Monty Brown appear, both dressed in bright pink wrestling gear and both sporting huge erections. Bagwell says that tomorrow night, not only will he and Monty have the biggest dicks in TNA, they will be the biggest tag team in TNA when they take those belts. Miller and Maximo look like they want to throw up. C

Ernest Miller & Jose Maximo (Tag Team Champions, with So Cal Val), Double X & Teddy Hart v 'Alpha Male' Monty Brown, Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell, America's Most Wanted & Sid Vicious

A little disappointing and the worst action of the night so far. The Tag Team Champions spent most of their time avoiding the "sick queers" at all cost, even to the detriment of the match and their team mates. Teddy Hart looked good and gave his all in his unofficial debut, given he is under contract to WWE and used his nous and ability to frustrate Sid. When it came down to it, it was the faces who won in 9:52 when Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell defeated Rocky Romero by pinfall with a Buff Blockbuster. C-

Backstage and Dusty Rhodes and Ken Shamrock are exchanging heated words. Dusty Rhodes tells Shamrock he knows what old school is about as he was around when old school was the norm in wrestling. He questions whether Shamrock is the king of old school as he thinks or if he claims that because he thinks it "might be cool". C

Jeff Jarrett cuts a promo before the main event where he challenges CM Punk to a match after Bound for Glory III so he can prove his loyalties lie with TNA. B-

Abyss (World Champion, with Harley Race), Bryan Danielson, Jeff Jarrett & Ken Shamrock v CM Punk, Jerry Lynn, Mr Wrestling IV & Steve Corino

A good main event that perhaps somewhat surprisingly didn't meet the standard of some of the earlier matches though it acted as an excellent preview for a number of matches tomorrow. Perhaps the biggest indicator of what might come at TNA's biggest event the following night came in the result as in 15:47 when Ken Shamrock defeated Jerry Lynn by submission with an Ankle Lock. C

Show rating: C

The show can be considered a success and should increase TNA's popularity.

Attendance: 3375

TV rating: 0.71

Loss: $69,375

Latin American Exchange (Bucanero & Guerrero) v Full Blooded Italians

TNA's biggest show of the year kicks off with a must win Nations Cup match for Italy, but looking at Mamaluke's under performance you wouldn't think so as the pressure of opening the biggest show and keeping Italy in the Nations Cup was getting to him. Luckily he had Little Guido as his partner as the little Italian more than made up for his partner's shortcomings as he led his team to victory and keep them in the Nations Cup. Italy's win came in 8:21 when Little Guido defeated Rey Bucanero by pinfall with an Arriverderci. D+

Mexico 2 Italy 1

AJ Styles v Vampiro

Quickly following on from the opening Nations Cup match was Vampiro's singles return following his injury lay off. Straight from the bell he was looking to make up for the lost time due to his enforced break but he was facing arguably TNA's pound for pound best all rounder in Styles, who systematically worked his way through the match utilising high flying, a little bit of brawling and some technical wrestling. He proved to good for Vampiro in 11:26 by pinfall with a Styles Clash. C-

Backstage and Jimmy Hart is standing with Sean Waltman and Teddy Hart. He gives Sid Vicious one final warning and one final chance to back out... after all, one against two is never good odds, no matter what the size difference. Hart finishes by saying change is happening. C-

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

ULTIMATE X

'Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels (champion) v Evan Karagias v Mike Sanders v Satoshi Kojima v The Amazing Red v Johnny Kashmere

Ultimate X lived up to expectations with high risk action from the stancions holding up the ropes, the ropes themselves and even Daniels and Red who took a sick fall from the top of the stancions when Daniels took out Red with the mother of all neckbreakers. Moments later, remarkably, with Sanders and Kojima fighting around the championship belt, Daniels was able to get back up and shimmied across the wires, reaching them both and first kicking down Sanders and then Kojima. Finally, a clearly hurt but surviving Daniels unhooked the belt in 15:50. Christopher Daniels makes defence number 7 of his TNA X Division title. C

Harley Race and Abyss are preparing for tonight's championship main event. Race is feeding Abyss raw meat, who happily wolfs it down before flying into a rage, destroy any inaminate object he lays his hands on that isn't nailed down. C

America's Most Wanted v Double X (with Francine)

A match that was somewhat disappointing, not helped by an under performance from James Storm. However, like the FBI's win earlier, his partner helped him through the match and thanks to Chris Harris' fine work AMW came away with the duke in 9:44 when 'Cowboy' James Storm defeated Rocky Romero by pinfall with a Death Sentence. D+

Sid Vicious makes a vow. He will beat Hart and Waltman out of TNA or go down fighting. D-

Latin American Exchange (Hernandez & Estrada) v New Dawn

Thankfully a far better match than AMW v XX and one that showcased some slick teamwork from both duos. Hernandez was easily more powerful than both of his opponents and he used this to go effect as LAX built up an advantage. New Dawn mounted a comeback with quick paced double team moves only for Estrada's cunning and chicanery to swing the momentum back to LAX. This led to their victory in 10:52 when Hernandez defeated Caprice Coleman by pinfall with a Megabomb following illegal interference from Estrada. C

CM Punk cuts a promo on Abyss remarking that he has to win tonight so the New Dawn can reclaim the power they need to battle the rising threat of "Jeff Jarrett and the WWE invasion". D-

Sid Vicious v Sean Waltman & Teddy Hart (with Jimmy Hart)

One on one and Sid man handled his opponents. As soon as it became two on one, the WWE employees overcame Sid with the numbers game. Add in Jimmy Hart's timely interference and Sid was looking less likely to beat Waltman and Hart out of TNA. This proved to be the case in 13:16 when Teddy Hart defeated Sid Vicious by pinfall with a handful of tights following a distraction from Jimmy Hart and left Sid banging his fist on the canvas in frustration as the three WWE employees left through the crowd, Hart being heard to say through his megaphone "there is more to come". C-

A short video package plays showcasing Doug Williams' TV Title reign. C-

The Fringe (Aries, Kash & Quackenbush) & EZ Money v Brits Abroad & Pride of Britain

An entertaining bout that with eight men in the ring never saw a lull in the action. Money fitted in well with the three members of the Fringe and equally, the two British team worked well together as a quartet. No foursome had a clear advantage until the very end, where amongst eight men brawling all over the place it was Aries who scored the fall in 12:40 when he defeated Chris Hero by pinfall with a Brainbuster. Jeff Jarrett cuts a promo saying he will defeat Steve Corino tonight. C-

Bryan Danielson v Mr Wrestling IV

The masked star was tiring towards the end of an intense, technical match, which led to the match suffering a bit for it. With his tiring, Danielson capitalised and took the contest in 12:31 by submission with an Arms Across America. C-

Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell and Ernest Miller are having another row about Buff being "sick". Buff gets a ruler out that measures 30cm in length and he shows Miller that that is the length of his and Monty Brown's dicks. Miller is repulsed and tells Buff to **** off, but Buff says Miller is jealous because his is only [buff visually measures 10cm]. Buff runs off before Miller can floor him. C

Jeff Jarrett v Steve Corino

A so so match that was heavy on technical wrestling but lacked the sparked to make it good. Corino was a strong match for Jarrett as he had answers for a lot of Jarrett's offence which frustrated the TNA founder and almost allowed Corino to take victory. Jarrett's been around the block a few times though and wrestled as much with his head as his body and he pulled through in 21:24 by pinfall with The Stroke. C-

NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Ernest Miller & Jose Maximo (champions, with So Cal Val) v 'Alpha Male' Monty Brown & Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell

Clearly all of Buff's gay antics and talk of he and Monty Brown having the biggest dicks in TNA had gotten inside Miller's head, as in one moment he was repulsed to go anywhere near his two opponents and in another moment he went at them in a blind rage. Maximo tried his best to keep control of his errant partner but it was as if Miller was possessed. This meant that defending the championships proved very difficult indeed, so much so they were unsuccessful and new champions were crowned in 16:40 when Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell defeated Jose Maximo by pinfall with a Buff Blockbuster. 'Alpha Male' Monty Brown & Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell win the NWA TNA World Tag Team titles. Bagwell and Brown celebrated by doing a seductive gay dance, with Monty Brown finally having succumbed to Bagwell's come ons and being a willing participant. Both men as a result sported very large erections and hung the championship belts on their dicks as they left up the ramp. C

Ken Shamrock promises victory over Jerry Lynn next where he will prove he really is the king of old school wrestling. C

SUBMISSION MATCH

Jerry Lynn v Ken Shamrock

Comfortably the best action of the night and only the main event to go, this was a showcase for submission based wrestling. Shamrock thought it was going to be easy and went into the contest somewhat ****y, but Lynn soon gave him a wake up call with a painful cross arm bar. What followed was a submission match that flowed well and last a long time as both wrestlers targeted certain areas of their opponent's body for prolonged spells. Numerous times through the match the crowd showed their appreciation for the application of a hold or a way to counter or escape one. In the end, Shamrock did make good on his promise as he won in 32:35 by submission with an Ankle Lock. C+

Jerry Lynn has submitted and the bell has rung, but Ken Shamrock does not relinquish the Ankle Lock. Lynn taps furiously, the timekeeper keeps ringing the bell, but Shamrock does not break the hold for another minute, when security and officials storm the ring. Lynn is clearly hurt. E+

As we wait for the match between Abyss and CM Punk to commence, Tenay and Potter run us through the Tale Of The Tape. C-

NWA TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Abyss (champion, with Harley Race) v CM Punk

Punk has shown in recent weeks he's not intimidated by Harley Race's monster despite losing the championship to him a few weeks ago. He troubled Abyss greatly with a top notch performance where he used technical wrestling to combat Abyss' size and improvised very well on a number of occasions.

Abyss was able to counter Punk's technical ability with his large size and strength advantage.

The match was finely poised only for both men to lose any sort of advantage whatsoever.

Everybody is stunned into stillness. Running down the ramp come Teddy Hart, Sean Waltman, Jimmy Hart and...

The four come storming to the ring. Jimmy Hart takes out Harley Race with the megaphone and the four climb up on the ring apron, one on each side of the ring. Abyss and Punk have stopped fighting and look at each other. Realising they are in an unwanted and unplanned two on four situation they declare an impromptu and unspoken truce as the WWE invaders climb into the ring. The two Harts beat down Punk, Jimmy Hart courtesy of his megaphone while D'Lo and Waltman beat down Abyss. With Abyss and Punk down, Jimmy Hart fetches three steel chairs and the three WWE invaders take turns hitting Abyss and Punk over the head with the chairs until neither man is moving. Mickey Jay has no option but to throw the match out in 23:29 and fans in the arena throw a multitude of garbage into the ring as the four WWE invaders laugh to themselves. C+
