What are you talking about? Sid is by far the least talented on the team, not too mention the most addicted to drugs. xP

While all of that is true, the other two never headlined a major promotion which Sid has done. So yeah his star power is what gets them the win there.

The Fringe (Aries, Kash & Sanders) v Dick Togo, Keiji Sakoda & Masato Tanaka</strong></p><p>

The Fringe were uber confident going into the match and certainly underestimated their opponents. They got their wake up call when the hard hitting Tanaka starting busting some heads. The Fringe focused after this and started to resume control of the match only for Japan to walk out with a surprise victory in 8:40 when Masato Tanaka defeated Austin Aries by pinfall with a Roaring Elbow. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Backstage and Dusty Rhodes is backstage with EZ Money. He tells him that he hopes he is ready, as his match is next and he is fighting Mr Wrestling IV. <strong>D-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>EZ Money v Mr Wrestling IV</strong></p><p>

IV's Turning Point opponent, Ken Shamrock appears on commentary for this one and he is impressed by the action in the ring as Money and IV put on some great stuff in a very entertaining match, much better than many expected. Both men's stock rose significantly with this one, more so IV who claimed victory in 9:55 by pinfall with a Sudan Elbow Drop. <strong>B-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Having won such a quality match, IV celebrates his victory, only for Ken Shamrock to rip off his head set, attack the masked wrestler and lock him in the Ankle Lock. IV taps madly but Shamrock doesn't let go for well over a minute. <strong>C</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Bryan Danielson, D'Lo Brown (with Jimmy Hart), Ernest Miller & Jose Maximo (with So Cal Val) v Full Blooded Italians, Sid Vicious & The Amazing Red</strong></p><p>

A surprisingly serene match compared to most eight man tags as the action was confined to the ring and some might say ended up better for it. Unless you're a Jose Maximo fan who did not perform well. The WWE Invaders continue to be a huge thorn in the side of Sid as their newest member chalked up victory here in 12:55 when D'Lo Brown defeated Sid Vicious by pinfall with a Low Down. <strong>C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Jimmy Hart speaks after the match and hypes his WWE stars as the future in TNA and that they will run roughshod over TNA until they gain full control. <strong>E+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

'Alpha Male' Monty Brown & Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell (champions) v Sean Waltman & Teddy Hart (with Jimmy Hart)</strong></p><p>

The high quality of the action continue with a seat of your pants which way will it go tag team title match. The strength and guile of Brown and Bagwell came up against the cunning and slyness of Waltman, Hart and Hart. The tomfoolery and chicanery of the WWE Invaders led to them being on top, only for CM Punk, Sid Vicious and Steve Corino storm the ring and attack the WWE Invaders, causing the disqualification. Punk and friends clear the ring and Punk shouts down to the WWE Invaders on the arena fall and tells them "I have my third man". <strong>C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Mr Wrestling IV speaks from the backstage physio room. He tells of the great pain he is feeling in his ankle thanks to Ken Shamrock's post match attack earlier but vows to get his revenge at Turning Point. <strong>C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

'Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels (champion) v AJ Styles</strong></p><p>

Science. Chemistry and Psychology. Here a lack of psychology was more than made up by great chemistry as we saw yet another high quality match on this edition of Explosion. Styles proved to be Daniels' toughest defence to date, aside perhaps from the unpredictability of a six man Ultimate X. The two ended up fighting on the outside and with Mickey Jay's count slowly increasing, AJ dived into the ring to beat the ten count. Daniels however couldn't and AJ won by count out in 15:18 but realisation, frustration and disappointment set in when he realised he hadn't won the title. <strong>C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Buff Bagwell speaks backstage about Ernest Miller. For once he is not mad at him, in fact he pleads with him to "open your mind and join the twenty first century way of thinking and be open to sexual preferences". <strong>C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>NWA TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP</strong></p><p><strong>

Abyss (champion, with Harley Race) v Doug Williams (TV Champion)</strong></p><p>

Champion versus champion as sheer brute force meets the British style of wrestling. There were times when Abyss looked a little lost, not quite knowing how to handle Williams' excellent quality of British style wrestling. He discovered a way though... power out or through everything he can. Brute force and ignorance ended up triumphing in 16:28 by pinfall with The Black Hole. Abyss makes defence number 5 of his NWA TNA World Heavyweight title. <strong>C</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Jeff Jarrett speaks out sternly before the main event, telling CM Punk that "I will show you I am TNA" before departing for his ring entrance. <strong>C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CM Punk v Jeff Jarrett</strong></p><p>

A very good end to a very good evening of wrestling. Punk and Jarrett went toe to toe in a battle that obviously has personal and professional undertones, with Punk's outspoken opinion that it is Jarrett who is responsible for allowing WWE employees and also another drug taker in Sean Waltman into TNA wrestling. The two's war raged all around ringside and into the crowd, where they battled to the arena exit as Patrick Hernandez count to ten to count them both out in 20:04 and the third match to end tonight by count out or disqualification. The last image seen on Explosion is Punk and Jarrett's continue fight spilling through a fire exit and out of the arena. <strong>C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

PRE SHOW

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, The Amazing Red defeated Místico in 7:26 by pinfall with a Code Red. C-

Impact

Saturday, week 1, November 2004

Magness Arena, Denver, CO.

http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQMEF__86Kj23gprg0PfuZBqykOq8_ROxM2iPBMP6g81FtMlX_55A

Live on Spike TV

Jeff Jarrett is in the ring to start Impact and reiterates his previous statement that he has nothing to do with the WWE Invaders. It is not he who has given them contracts and he himself wants to get to the bottom of who is behind. He then goes on to CM Punk, saying that Wednesday night solved nothing and if beating Punk is the way he will make him see sense and fact then that is what he will do. B-

Jorge Estrada leads a Latin American Exchange promo focusing on their match at Turning Point against Brits Abroad. D+

Evan Karagias v Roderick Strong

A good opening match that had little interest from the crowd, the challenger for the X Division Championship at Turning Point had a fairly comfortably outing, Karagias dispatching his opponent in 6:06 by pinfall with a Tidal Wave. C-

Following the match, 'Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels appears on the stage and tells Karagias he was less than impressed with his performance tonight. Karagias tells Daniels he will be less than a champion after Turning Point. D

Mike Sanders is backstage with EZ Money. Money says he wants into The Fringe. Sanders says that Money has been impressive of late, but he wants time to think about it. D

Mike Quackenbush v Satoshi Kojima

A tense and nervy deciding Semi Final bout and one where Kojima held his nerve and out wrestled his American opponent, much to the delight of the majority of the Colorado crowd. Kojima put Japan into the Final against Mexico and left Quackenbush pounding the mat in frustration. The victory came in in 8:55 by pinfall with a Lariat. C-

AJ Styles cuts a promo on Jeff Jarrett, saying that while Jarrett and Punk might not have fought to a conclusion on Explosion, AJ says he will defeat Jarrett at Turning Point. C

Ernest Miller has some angry words for Buff Bagwell backstage. Miller says that he lives his life his way and he finds fags and Buff Bagwell's actions sick and have no place in the world. Bagwell tells Miller it is no wonder that everybody hates him, which sets Miller off on a rant but Bagwell simply skips away in a camp fashion. C+

AK-47 v America's Most Wanted

Another match where the action was of a reasonable quality but was not particularly exciting, which seems to be a theme of the night. AK-47 have been on a roll of late and have been building up considerable momentum but AMW brought this to a halt in 10:54 when 'Wildcat' Chris Harris defeated Kid Kash by pinfall with a Death Sentence. C-

Backstage and Harley Race are livid, it turns out at Dusty Rhodes, who bans them from having any physical contact with Jerry Lynn prior to Turning Point unless it is in competitive action. Abyss stares a hole through Rhodes' head but Rhodes does not back down. C+

As Abyss and Harley Race leave, Jeff Jarrett arrives. Jarrett questions Rhodes if he has anything to do with the WWE Invaders. Rhodes is taken aback, he asks who Jarrett thinks he is, denies any knowledge of what contracts they have or who signed them as he is focused on the best for TNA, not promoting WWE. C+

TNA TV TITLE

Doug Williams v Rocky Romero

Williams defends against one of his opponents at Turning Point in the tag team match and the match founds much a similar pattern and quality as the bouts earlier in the evening. Williams was in control for the majority of the contest and duly defended in 10:10 by pinfall with a Chaos Theory. Doug Williams makes defence number 9 of his TNA TV title. C-

Jimmy Hart is backstage giving a pep talk to D'Lo Brown when Sid Vicious comes on the scene. D'Lo and Sid go back and forth, before things get heated and they start brawling. Hart gets security to pull them apart before Impact fades to a commercial. D+

Mr Wrestling IV and Ken Shamrock get into a verbal duel over their Turning Point match. IV tells of his pain he is still suffering in his ankle from Explosion and Shamrock ends the segment by making a snapping motion with his hands. C+

Bryan Danielson v Jerry Lynn

Thankfully the action picks up for the main event as Danielson and Lynn put on a quality match up with Rhodes' hand picked contender for Abyss' World Championship at Turning Point emerging on top in 19:10 by pinfall with a Cradle Piledriver. Best action of the night. C+
