Live on Spike TV

'Wildcat' Chris Harris opens Impact, with the NWA TNA World Heavyweight Championship belt round his waist. He vents his anger at Ken Shamrock for attacking him after the contract signing last week.

This prompts Shamrock to come to the ring. He says "boo hoo" as he wipes away fake tears from his eyes. He tells Harris to watch what he does to his buddy James Storm tonight, as he will have the same in store for him when Shamrock takes the title off him tomorrow night. C-

Divine Storm v Johnny Kashmere & Keiji Sakoda

A tepid match despite some solid action, as the crowd just weren't into the match at all. Kashmere and Sakoda did look pretty good together on their debut and came out with a win in 6:21 when Keiji Sakoda defeated Quiet Storm by pinfall with a Roaring Elbow. D

Steve Corino cuts a promo backstage as the crowd boo. He says he has refocused, recognised that being a nice guy doesn't get you anywhere and realises that to get anywhere in this business you need to kick some ass... starting with Doug Williams tomorrow night. C-

Dusty Rhodes is in the TNA Director of Authority's Office and he makes the Ernest Miller v Jose Maximo match tomorrow night a falls count anywhere match. C-

Jorge Estrada v Little Guido

A considerably better match in terms of the whole package than the opener, although some of the action in this did not match that of the tag team opener. The match was even, Guido again showing he seems to be better than his partner Mamaluke. Even so, Estrada using his slyness to emerge victorious in 8:03 by pinfall with a Greetings from Graceland. C-

Kevin Kelly is in a sit down interview with X Division champion Evan Karagias and his challenger tomorrow night, Satoshi Kojima. Both men put over their ability and their opponent and both men say they will walk out of Genesis as the X Division champion. C

Backstage and CM Punk has some words for Jimmy and Teddy Hart. He says that tomorrow signifies the start of the New Dawn halting the WWE Invasion when Punk not only beats Teddy, but takes him out. C+

TNA TV TITLE

D'Lo Brown (champion, with Jimmy Hart) v AJ Styles

Unusually, AJ Styles was really off his game and this was reflected in the standard of the match. It led to D'Lo having most of the match but AJ did manage to get the ascendancy and was setting up for the Styles Clash when Jerry Lynn appeared, got on the apron and distracted Styles. D'Lo made the most of his fellow WWE Invader's distraction by attacking Styles from behind and following up in 12:13 by pinfall following a Lo Down. D'Lo Brown makes defence number 4 of his TNA TV title. C-

Following the match, D'Lo gets a mic and tells Jeff Hardy he has made a big mistake by going it alone and not joining the WWE Invasion and he has effectively destroyed his TNA future by doing so. C

Sid cuts a promo, saying that facing and defeating Abyss tomorrow night is the perfect way to reestablish himself in TNA and remind himself he is a force to be reckoned with. Harley Race and Abyss come to the ring and Abyss stands face to face with Sid. Neither man backs down as they share an intense stare, before Race says "not tonight" and pulls Abyss away. C-

Ernest Miller (with Jimmy Hart) v Jeff Hardy

Hardy looked very impressive in his debut TNA match as he caused Miller all sorts of trouble throughout a very good match. Miller struggled to come up with answers for Hardy's often unorthodox offence and Hardy duly took the match in 12:37 by pinfall with a Swanton Bomb. C+

Bumders are in a locker room with lights dimmed, a lot of candles and the Tag Team Championship belts tassled with pink ribbons hanging off their hufe erections. They speak of their confidence of defeating The Fringe tomorrow night and keeping their titles "for them and all homosexuals everywhere". C

AJ Styles is in a rage over Jerry Lynn, saying he will pay tomorrow night for costing him the TV Title tonight. C

'Cowboy' James Storm v Ken Shamrock

'Wildcat' Chris Harris joined Mike Tenay and Potter as guest commentator for the main event and struck up a strong rapport with Potter, who was supportive of the World Champion, his upcoming defence tomorrow night and his preference to fight for the title on his own. As a main event, the match was a little disappointing, not anywhere near the quality of Jeff Hardy's performance in the previous match. Shamrock, as expected, had the better of Storm and took the bout in 16:10 by submission with an Ankle Lock. C-

Full Blooded Italians v Latin American Exchange

A high quality opening contest despite an under performing Tony Mamaluke. It's getting to the stage where Guido appears to be carrying his long term tag team partner. Hernandez and Estrada made the most of Mamaluke's failings and took the opening Genesis match in 8:16 when Hernandez defeated Tony Mamaluke by pinfall with a Megabomb. C+

Doug Williams v Steve Corino

The standard was maintained between two solid technical wrestlers in a good quality wrestling match. Corino has added numerous heel elements into his arsenal in recent weeks and this helped him as much as it frustrated Williams and went some way to leading to Corino's victory in 13:09 by pinfall, illegally using the ropes for leverage. C+

Mr Wrestling IV is backstage where he says he has not been around for a little while but will be coming back and better than ever very soon. C

FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE MATCH

Ernest Miller (with Jimmy Hart) v Jose Maximo (with So Cal Val)

A superb match, one that surpassed all expectations and is possibly one of the best TNA have ever put on. Miller and Maximo battled in the ring, around it and through all of the arena without going backstage with both men scoring near falls in the crowd. The crowd were really into it and the action was great. Then it got interrupted...

http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTxdJd0r5I_y3ADf-fmzj9587nF7YdHcO-zSDoyU9z9W37L7TLDDw

Out walks Jose's brother Joel. With both Miller and Jose Maximo struggling to their feet after a double clothesline in the ring, Joel slides in and eyes up Miller... before turning and nailing Jose with a Beach Break. Miller laughs and hugs Joel before instructing Joel to lift up his brother so he can finish him in 14:15 by pinfall with a Thrust Kick. Joel raises Miller's hand after the match as the crowd rain in their boos and some trash too. B-

Abyss (with Harley Race) v Sid Vicious

A little bit of a come down following the high quality Miller v Jose Maximo match. As expected, this match was hard hitting between two big men and maybe that is why it lacked some excitement. When the hard hitting became a brawl on the ramp, Robert Brisko ended up counting the two behemoths out in 12:06. C

Kevin Kelly is backstage, asking Joel Maximo why the hell he just betrayed his brother. Joel said it was simple, Jose made a big mistake in not following Ernest Miller to the WWE Invasion and that Joel has arrived to show Jose how big of a mistake it was. C

NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Bumders (champions) v The Fringe (Money & Sanders)

A return to the quality seen earlier as Bumders overcame fairly tough opponents. Genesis is shaping up to be a tremendous show and promises much for 2005 in TNA... A long way to go yet though but here Bumders showed too much quality and triumphed in 12:39 when 'Alpha Male' Monty Brown defeated EZ Money by pinfall with a Hanging Around. Bumders make defence number 6 of their NWA TNA World Tag Team titles. C

AJ Styles v Jerry Lynn (with Jimmy Hart)

Another match with great action as Styles and Lynn put on a highly entertaining and fast paced match in the latest installment of New Dawn v WWE Invasion. Both men were very impressive but it was AJ who prevailed in 15:28 by pinfall with a Styles Clash. B-

Kevin Kelly is backstage with Jimmy and Teddy Hart after a brief intermission. The two Harts say that Hart will defeat Punk later and with New Dawn's leader down the takeover can start. C

D'Lo Brown (with Jimmy Hart) v Jeff Hardy

Jimmy Hart is having a busy night as he is ringside for a third match tonight with Teddy Hart still to come later on. The six and a half thousand paying fans and those buying on pay per view were treated to another fantastic match as two former WWE stars with very different agendas in TNA fought. Hardy's daredevil style contrasted well with Brown's no nonsense approach and Hardy was the one with his arms in the air when the dust settled as he won in 14:25 by pinfall with a Swanton Bomb. The Invaders' night is going down hill since they shocked Jose Maximo earlier on. B-

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

Evan Karagias (champion) v Satoshi Kojima

It says a lot for the quality on show tonight when a match like this is not even close to being one of the best. Kojima brings things to the ring not seen in other X Division competitors and this makes him a very challenging opponent to deal with for the usual high flying, fast paced X Division wrestler. Indeed Karagias was often in trouble in the match and eventually succumbed in 14:38 by pinfall with a Lariat. Satoshi Kojima wins the TNA X Division title. C

Kevin Kelly is backstage with the World Champion, 'Wildcat' Chris Harris. Harris promises he will win. Alone. D-

CM Punk v Teddy Hart (with Jimmy Hart)

Despite a lack of psychology on show this was another great match which also drew great heat from the crowd, as the head of the WWE Invasion led his namesake into battle against the leader of New Dawn, who in the absence of any real resistance from TNA has taken the fight to the WWE Invasion. Punk was too good for Hart, though it's clear his day will come. Punk won in 14:46 by pinfall with a Pepsi Plunge. B-

NWA TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

'Wildcat' Chris Harris (champion) v 'King of Old School' Ken Shamrock

A good way to end a great night of action and TNA fans have definately had their money worth out of tonight's card. Shamrock was focused and intense and on numerous times could and perhaps should have won the title. Harris clung in there and again 'Cowboy' James Storm showed up. His attack on Shamrock went unseen by both Chris Harris and Patrick Hernandez, who had taken a bit of a bump and was recovering. Harris unwittingly capitalised on his partner's help in 25:01 by pinfall with a Catatonic. During the match we also had 'Cowboy' James Storm run in and attack Shamrock. 'Wildcat' Chris Harris makes defence number 2 of his NWA TNA World Heavyweight title. C

Show rating: C

The show can be considered a success and should increase TNA's popularity.

Some angles did not reach the standard of the matches.

Attendance: 6894

Buy rate: 0.53

Profit: $116,870

Ernest Miller v Jose Maximo is TNA's best ever match. AJ Styles v Jerry Lynn is 3rd and CM Punk v Teddy Hart 6th.

The show drew the 4th highest buy rate in TNA history.

well I'd say the Wildcat era began with a bang - being one of the most profitable shows and also the 4th highest buy rate of all time. That's not to count the fact that several guys on the undercard elevated their game to new levels as well - maybe Harris winning the world title lets them know that they too can make the main event if they continue to work hard and shine.

having 3 of the top 10 matches of all time in one card is phenomonal, especially this deep into the legacy. Little better card order could have earned the entire card a little higher score - and also a top rating. Who woulda know that Miller and Maximo would have the best match in the history of TNA though? Would have expected that from AJ and JL

I like the way you're working Storm in. Could be interesting to work in a tag match - AMW vs Shamrock and ??? for an upcoming house or t v show (with ??? possibly being the next contender for Wildcat's world title?). Putting the title on Wildcat Chris Harris was a bold stroke of genius; a courageous move that earned you a well-deserved diary of the month nomination. Keep up the good work, and enjoy the ride as far as it takes us

Thanks Olympia. I was too surprised that Miller v Jose Maximo turned out to be so good. Had I known that was coming I would have put it much higher up the card. The fact the main event didn't match some of the other matches held the overall rating down enough for it to not make the top ten.

I have to admit having Harris as champion was initially only going to be short term, I would have had him lose it to Shamrock at Genesis. However, given his popularity is rising sharply (he's as popular as Shamrock now) and I have an interesting storyline developing with him and Storm, then he's having the title for longer. Given the rating of some of the matches though, he might not be main eventing every time.

Impact Preview

'Wildcat' Chris Harris is still World Champion again thanks to an unwanted assist from his partner 'Cowboy' James Storm. With Harris becoming increasingly annoyed as Storm's interference, will AMW implode before everybody's eyes?

CM Punk overcame another WWE Invader at Genesis, but is it likely to make any difference in Jimmy Hart's aim to takeover TNA?

Joel Maximo shocked everybody by turning on his brother Jose and alligning himself with Ernest Miller and the WWE Invasion. Jose will want revenge.

TNA TV TITLE - D'Lo Brown (champion) v Caprice Coleman

Caprice is one of your big up and coming stars and the TV title would be perfect for him

NUMBER ONE CONTENDERS MATCH - AK-47 (Austin Aries & Kid Kash) v Brits Abroad (Chris Hero & Desmond Wolfe) v Latin American Exchange (Hernandez & Jorge Estrada) v WWE Invaders

AK-47 is one of your creations - looking ahead for future challenegers for Harris, why not of their old tag team rivals? Aries and Kash could provide good matches with Harris (not sure how highly ranked they are, so maybe for tv title defenses or on minor cards)

America's Most Wanted ('Wildcat' Chris Harris (World Champion) & 'Cowboy' James Storm v Abyss & Ken Shamrock

better teamwork by AMW despite some recent disagreements - Harris knows Storm was "only trying to help" and they put those differences aside for this match. Abyss and Shamrock have a "been there, done that" feel to them and have yet to deliver a super main event match. Could be fun to see interference by someone like Corino to elevate him into title contention.

Mr Wrestling IV v Roderick Strong

Strong is a good looking young Frat boy who is learning the ropes. He will learn a lot from Mr Wrestling (not sure why I started thinking about Buff Bagwell as I was typing that)

Mike Sanders v Robert Roode

Roode has been an ally of AMW (which means world champion Chris Harris), but like Strong is still not quite ready for Prime Time. Sanders has been the middle of some strong storylines - if he were to abuse Roode here during or after the match, he could get the attention of the World champion -- this match could be the first shot fired in Sanders' battle to get a world title shot in a month or so. If Wildcat is to have a good title run, nows a good time to find some solid challengers who will match up better with him than Shamrock so he can deliver some better ratings on top.

http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcS5mWtfLT7ygwjYR5En4x1tLPy7nnz0rvbl08iXJ6pi_V7JSynALg

Live on Spike TV

Dusty Rhodes has called a meeting as Impact starts and in the ring are World Champion 'Wildcat' Chris Harris, his America's Most Wanted tag team partner 'Cowboy' James Storm, former champions Ken Shamrock and Abyss and Abyss' manager Harley Race. Rhodes says that James Storm has been interfering in the World Championship matches too often of late and the champion Chris Harris agrees. He tells Storm that he wants to win fairly and properly and not just because he has a tag team partner. Storm doesn't like this. Rhodes goes further and says that both Abyss and Ken Shamrock have been denied their chance to win the title this past month, so this is what will happen. Tonight, they will team up to face AMW and at Against All Odds, both Ken Shamrock and Abyss will challenge Chris Harris for the title in a three way. Shamrock and Abyss are happy with this, the crowd somewhat surprised that Rhodes is booking to help the heels. C

Kevin Kelly is backstage with the new X Division Champion, Satoshi Kojima and the man he took the belt from, Evan Karagias. Kelly announces that Director of Authority Dusty Rhodes has said that the rematch between Kojima and Karagias will happen at Against All Odds. Karagias is happy and tells Kojima he is taking his belt back. Kojima replies by saying Karagias has never beaten him and he never will. C

Mr Wrestling IV v Roderick Strong

An excellent opening match on Impact that was very well received despite Mr Wrestling IV not being at his best after a short spell away from the ring. Even so, he showed he has more class than Strong and took the match with some ease in 5:43 by pinfall with a Sudan Elbow Drop. C+

Sid Vicious is backstage with Kevin Kelly, and Sid says he has a rematch with Abyss on Explosion where this time he will beat his ass. C-

Steve Corino is backstage, telling Mr Wrestling IV that he was far from impressed with his match and it was "not an impressive comeback". He challenges him for Against All Odds. C

Mike Sanders v Robert Roode

Nowhere near as good as the opening, this bout looked awkward as Sanders and Roode struggled to gel and it showed in both of their performances. Sanders was a second comfortably winner of the night as he disposed of Roode in 6:41 by pinfall with a 3.0. D+

Ernest Miller is with Joel Maximo and the pair mock Joel's brother Jose. Joel remarks that he has sense unlike his brother and has sided with the future of wrestling, and that is the WWE. C-

Bumders are in their camply decorated locker room, with the Tag Team Championship belts decorated with pink ribbons and they are both standing completely naked, with a large pixelated box around their groinal area. They say they are hard and proud... proud to be champions and proud to be gay. Buff's hand is seen to be moving toward's Monty's dick as the camera cuts away. B-

NUMBER ONE CONTENDERS MATCH

AK-47 v Brits Abroad v Latin American Exchange v WWE Invaders

Jimmy Hart introduced Teddy Hart and The Miz as the representatives for his WWE Invasion and they stormed the ring and cleared it, much to the anger of the crowd. Once things had settled down, all four teams had their moments where they looked the best and that they would win but in the end it was Jimmy Hart who was smiling most as his Invaders beat AK-47 in 9:44 to earn a Tag Team Championship match. C

Following a commercial and Jimmy Hart has switched subjects, this time he talks about Jeff Hardy and that he is "a potential problem" but he is not worried... he has got Jerry Lynn to take care of things at Against All Odds. C

AJ Styles and D'Lo Brown are backstage bickering. D'Lo tells AJ "he has had his chance to get his gold". AJ tells D'Lo he wants a chance to beat him up, so challenges him to a match without the title on the line, at Against All Odds. D'Lo accepts, saying he will "get rid of this little prick once and for all. C+

TNA TV TITLE

D'Lo Brown (champion, with Jimmy Hart) v Caprice Coleman

Some flashes of great action in what was largely a slightly disappointing match, due in part to the two not looking fluid together in the ring. D'Lo followed up his words for AJ with a focused performance, perhaps using Coleman as an example as to what he will do to AJ at the pay per view in a fortnight's time. Brown defending his belt in 10:42 by pinfall with a Low Down. D'Lo Brown makes defence number 5 of his TNA TV title. C-

We see Jimmy Hart backstage again, telling CM Punk he has somebody else for him at Against All Odds and he's going to get surprised. C

A music video plays showcasing 'Wildcat' Chris Harris' rise to the World Championship and his reign so far. B

America's Most Wanted v Abyss (with Harley Race) & Ken Shamrock

Abyss and Shamrock were wary of each other. With Harris and Storm putting aside their recent differences and working as well as a team as they ever have done, their far superior teamwork paid off in a main event that deserved it's place at the top of the show. Harris also showed he is a deserving World Champion, as this time with James Storm's legitimate help, he overcame his challengers at Against All Odds in 17:07 when 'Wildcat' Chris Harris defeated Ken Shamrock by pinfall with a Death Sentence. How will he do without his partner in a fortnight though? C+

Show rating: C+

The show can be considered a success and should increase TNA's popularity.

Attendance: 3208

Rating: 0.76

Loss: $64,160

Impact was TNA's second best ever show.
