NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP - Bumders ('Alpha Male' Monty Brown & Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell, champions) v Jimmy Hart's WWE Invaders (Teddy Hart & The Miz)

While I don't not like Teddy Hart, I doubt titles will change hands on tv

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP - Satoshi Kojima (champion) v The Amazing Red

Jeff Hardy v 'King of Old School' Ken Shamrock

Why Shamrock? He has a nickname :D

Bryan Danielson v Evan Karagias

Abyss v Sid Vicious

Could go either way.

Ken is going for your title at the next PPV so I think this is probably the best bet. Also, I really dislike Jeff Hardy.

Double R v Johnny Kashmere & Keiji Sakoda

Two brand new teams with Rocky Romero and Roderick Strong teaming up for the first time. Despite both teams lacking experience together, they managed to work together well. It was the newest team who walked away with the larger share of the purse as Gorilla Monsoon would have said, using their finishing move to earn it in 7:31 when Rocky Romero defeated Johnny Kashmere by pinfall with a Rated R. Good opener. C-

Abyss (with Harley Race) v Sid Vicious

Having failed to settle anything back at Genesis, TNA's two biggest men met again in a less brutal and more controlled affair. It was a reasonable outing but also one that will deepen Sid's thoughts that his best years may well be behind him as he lost to Race's monster in 9:32 by pinfall to The Black Hole. C-

Ernest Miller is backstage where he cuts a promo saying that he doesn't care who Jose Maximo picks as his partner for their match at Against All Odds as clearly they will be as big a fool as Jose is to team with him. C-

NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Bumders (champions) v Jimmy Hart's WWE Invaders (Teddy Hart & The Miz)

Bumders strut their stuff down the ramp, with the pink ribbon decorated championship belts hanging off their huge erections as usual. They each delicately and seductively take the belt off each other's cocks as they are about to enter the ring. The WWE Invaders look on with disgust in the ring.

During the match, The Miz acted like a complete homophobe. Shrieking loudly whenever Buff and Monty came close to touching him. This was a tactic/action that threw the champions off their game and allowed the Invaders to outwrestle them, something that led to the challengers winning the belt in something of an upset. Their win came in 11:13 when Teddy Hart defeated Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell by pinfall while using the ropes for leverage. WWE Invaders win the NWA TNA World Tag Team titles. Their first act as champions was to rib off the pink ribbons off the title belts, as Monty and Buff sit in the ring sobbing at losing the titles and their ribbons. C

Kevin Kelly tries to conduct an interview with Jerry Lynn backstage, asking him what the purpose and goals are for the WWE Invaders and if he is unhappy that he is not in action on tonight's show. Lynn just stays silent before walking off. C

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

Satoshi Kojima (champion) v The Amazing Red

Kojima's first defence was an excellent and challenging affair against one of the most exciting wrestlers in TNA. The action was great and this really got the crowd into the match, who were firmly behind Red and willing him to win the title. After a chain of fast paced, exciting and back and forth action, Kojima retained in 13:34 by pinfall with a Lariat. Satoshi Kojima makes defence number 1 of his TNA X Division title. B-

Backstage and AJ Styles was conducting a promo about how he will defeat D'Lo Brown at Against All Odds and show that he "belongs with the big boys". D'Lo Brown interrupts and tells AJ he is a boy playing in a man's world. C

Bryan Danielson v Evan Karagias

Danielson made his return following a short injury lay off and it looked like he never missed a beat, as he put on a clinical display and disposed of the former X Division Champion in a very good match, winning in 11:59 by submission with an Arms Across America. C+

Jeff Hardy v 'King of Old School' Ken Shamrock

Another great match with a very keen crowd, between two former stars of WWE who have nothing to do with the WWE Invasion. Hardy's unorthodox offence proved to be a superb counter to Shamrock's catch as catch can submission based wrestling, and vice versa. An intensely fought match saw it's conclusion in 19:24 when Shamrock took the match by submission with an Ankle Lock. He's looking good going into yet another title match in eleven days time. B-

CM Punk is backstage, angry at Jimmy Hart. He tells Jimmy to stop playing games and get his men out of TNA. Jimmy says they are going nowhere and that sooner rather than later he and the WWE will be running TNA. Punk tells him "over my dead body". Jimmy says that might be the case at Against All Odds. C

NWA TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

'Wildcat' Chris Harris (champion) v Steve Corino

A good main event but not one that stole the show, that belonged to Kojima v Red and Hardy v Shamrock. Harris is certainly revelling in being the champion and has definately stepped up his game since cashing in his Feast or Fired briefcase back at Christmas Feast. Here he went hold for hold with Corino and a couple of months ago that would have been very unlikely to have happened. Also significant here was that 'Cowboy' James Storm did not show up. Perhaps he is heeding his partner's request, or perhaps something is afoot. The match itself saw Harris make his first defence without his partner's (unwanted) help in 22:01 by pinfall with a Catatonic. 'Wildcat' Chris Harris makes defence number 3 of his NWA TNA World Heavyweight title. C+

Show rating: C+

The show can be considered a success and should increase TNA's popularity.

A number of angles did not reach the standard of the ring action.

Attendance: 7332

Buy rate: 0.48

Profit $121,107 (new Explosion record)

The show was rated the second best in TNA history.

Jeff Hardy v Ken Shamrock was the sixth best match in TNA history.

Live on Spike TV

Sid Vicious is in the ring at the start of Impact. He is upset. He says he feels he is slipping and wonders if it is time to call it a day. He thanks the fans for all of their support of the years and he's going to take a few days to do some soul searching. D+

Jeff Hardy is being interviewed by Kevin Kelly, who is asking how he plans to come back following his defeat to Ken Shamrock on Wednesday night. Jeff Hardy starts answering but then gets attacked by Jerry Lynn who lays him out. C-

Double R v Full Blooded Italians

A high quality opening match and one where some fans will be surprised that Tony Mamaluke put in a good performance! Despite he and Guido putting on their best showing in quite some time, they still lost to the new duo of Rocky and Roderick in 6:14 when Roderick Strong defeated Tony Mamaluke by submission with a Stronghold. C+

Bryan Danielson speaks out on his upcoming match with Doug Williams at Against All Odds. Danielson says he is delighted to be back in action, feels better than ever and will dispose of Williams on his way to future greatness in TNA. C+

Ernest Miller and Joel Maximo is backstage with Jose Maximo, taunting him that he won't be able to find a worthwhile partner for Against All Odds, seemingly forgetting he tags sometimes with Caprice Coleman as New Dawn. Jose laughs at Miller and his brother, telling them he has found a great partner. A familiar voice is heard saying "hello cousin" and The Amazing Red walks into shot. Joel's face is a picture of shock. C

Harley Race calls out the World Champion, 'Wildcat' Chris Harris. Harris comes out and Race berates him, calling him a paper champion given he always has to has his partner help him out every time. Harris protests that he does not want 'Cowboy' James Storm helping him. Race says "bullshit" and Abyss attacks Harris from behind, leaving the World Champion lying and hurt. C

'Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels v Johnny Kashmere

An awkward bout that was a poor shadow of the entertainment on offer in the tag team opener. Daniels took the win but neither man looked good. His victory came in 9:17 by pinfall with a Last Rites. D

Mr Wrestling IV accepts the challenge from Steve Corino for a match at Against All Odds. D

CM Punk is cutting a promo on halting the WWE Invasion. Jimmy Hart approaches and laughs at Punk, telling him he always is talking alone and has been taking no action. Hart seems to have a point and Punk gets irritated. Hart also tells him he will be surprised at who he has in store for him at Against All Odds. C

AJ Styles speaks out on D'Lo Brown, and also says he is fully supportive of CM Punk's New Dawn and their intent to stop the WWE Invasion. C+

Latin American Exchange v New Dawn

So much for Jose Maximo with his regular partner, as he and Caprice Coleman displayed zero chemistry with each other. Despite this, they still somehow defeated an established tag team in LAX. The win for New Dawn came in 8:49 when Jose Maximo defeated Jorge Estrada by pinfall with an Awakening. C

The new Tag Team Champions, WWE Invaders Teddy Hart & The Miz say their titles are just the beginning of the WWE takeover of everything in TNA. They say they are the best tag team in the world and nobody including Brits Abroad will take the titles off them. C+

Satoshi Kojima tells of his confidence of defeating Evan Karagias again at Against All Odds and also tells of his desire to take the X Division "into a new dimension", whatever he means by that. B-

TNA TV TITLE

D'Lo Brown (with Jimmy Hart) v Keiji Sakoda

Sakoda put up a spirited fight but Brown was too classy for his Japanese opponent, with D'Lo defending with something to spare in 11:29 by pinfall with a Low Down. D'Lo Brown makes defence number 6 of his TNA TV title. C-

Ken Shamrock speaks out, revelling in Abyss' attack on Chris Harris asking where the Cowboy was to save his boy tonight? C

Kid Kash is backstage with a shredded pink ribbon. He comes across Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell and taunts him, dangling the ribbon in Buff's face. Buff starts to cry. Kash laughs and walks off. C

AJ Styles v Steve Corino

A very good main event with some great action and a hot crowd. Both men were very impressive and looked on top of their game. Both men had spells of dominance and in the end it was New Dawn's "number two" so to speak in AJ who took the spoils in 19:03 by pinfall with a Styles Clash. B-

Only one day before Against All Odds and 'Wildcat' Chris Harris is not looking too good. Defending his World Championship tomorrow night, last week he had Abyss attack him and Ken Shamrock laugh at him as a result. How is he going to respond and will it be tonight or tomorrow night?

Speaking of reactions, the look on Joel Maximo's face when his brother Jose revealed their cousin The Amazing Red as his partner was a picture. Now he has had a week to digest it, how will he and Ernest Miller approach the situation?

Jimmy Hart has accused CM Punk of talking a good talk and his New Dawn doing little to slow the WWE Invasion. Will Jimmy reveal Punk's opponent for Sunday night?

Watch the action on Spike TV on Saturday night.

Impact

Saturday, week 2, February 2005

Jose Cestero Arena, Bayamon, Puerto Rico

http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQOhjZcp2rkPOeEg_v9dVR1OuffAbMSA25re5fpwS5cSaMhLMP88Q

Live on Spike TV

Dusty Rhodes opens Impact by welcoming TNA to Puerto Rico and after two years since the last visit he has found the locals very friendly and welcoming and says it is great to be back here. He then asks the World Champion, 'Wildcat' Chris Harris to the ring as he wants a heart to heart chat. Harris comes to the ring. Rhodes tells him that whatever happens at Against All Odds, he does not want Harris' partner, 'Cowboy' James Storm interferring in the match. He wants a fair result between Harris, Abyss and Ken Shamrock. Harris protests his innocence, saying he doesn't want Storm's help. Rhodes tells him to make sure he doesn't help, as he has had enough of dealing with Abyss and Shamrock's legitimate complaints they haven't had a fair shot at the title. C+

Bumders are backstage. Buff has stopped crying now, after losing the Tag Team Championship and his pink ribbons. Instead of the title belts, they now have towels covering up a huge bulge. Buff isn't fully back with it, so Monty leads the interview, saying they are confident of getting back on track straight away and disposing of AK-47 tomorrow night. C-

Brits Abroad v The Fringe

The British pairing looked solid in a good opening match ahead of their title challenge tomorrow night. Hero and Wolfe worked methodically to dispose of their opponents in 8:27 when Desmond Wolfe defeated Mike Sanders by pinfall with a Tower of London. C

Ernest Miller and Joel Maximo have a newly displayed confidence now the shock that Joel Maximo's cousin, The Amazing Red, will partner his brother Jose against them tomorrow night has set in. Joel says that there couldn't be anybody better as their opponents are going to be two people that Joel knows very well indeed. Miller finishes by saying they will show them the error of their ways. C-

AJ Styles and D'Lo Brown get in a heated exchange where D'Lo calls AJ "CM Punk's little boy" and AJ retorts by calling D'Lo "Jimmy Hart's little bitch". All that were missing were the handbags! C

Evan Karagias v 'Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels

Disappointing, mainly due to the fact they have faced each other a few times already in recent weeks and this was not as good as the previous matches. Karagias took this one in 12:28 by pinfall with a Tidal Wave but will need to be better against Kojima tomorrow night. D-

Harley Race hypes his monster Abyss as the next World Champion. C-

Jerry Lynn is arguing with Jeff Hardy about Hardy's 'lone wolf' attitude. Lynn says Hardy should have joined the Invasion as he would have been a major player, instead of being on the outside of the future of wrestling. Hardy says he likes it how he is. D

TNA TV TITLE

D'Lo Brown (champion, with Jimmy Hart) v Mr Wrestling IV

A good match that lacked a little in crowd heat, IV produced one of his best matches in TNA and out wrestled the champion. With D'Lo struggling, Jimmy Hart tried to interject himself into the match only for Mickey Jay to catch him in the act and eject him from ringside. IV carried on and took his first title in TNA in 12:02 by pinfall with a Sudan Elbow Drop. Mr Wrestling IV wins the TNA TV title. Brown pounds the mat in frustration. C-

Satoshi Kojima speaks about he is the new face of the new X Division and he will carry the division forward for years to come. C+

CM Punk and Jimmy Hart are having another altercation. They remark about how their "number twos" lost it earlier and it's only because "you are a short old man" that Punk isn't going to mangle Jimmy Hart. Hart looks genuinely scared at that remark. C

Doug Williams v Vampiro

A good match between two guys that haven't seen a lot of action in recent weeks and so were keen to show what they can do to make sure nobody forgets about them. Vampiro is popular in Puerto Rico and despite being the heel was getting more cheers from the crowd than boos. He also made the most of fan support in 9:58 by pinfall with a Nail in the Coffin. C

Ken Shamrock is backstage with Kevin Kelly and says he fully expects to become the first ever three time TNA World Champion tomorrow night. C

Bryan Danielson v Sid Vicious

A decent finale to the show and a classic big man gets out wrestled by smaller opponent. Sid's power was absorbed or countered by Danielson who proceeded to tie Sid in proverbial knots whenever he could. Sid's sorrow will deepen after this as Danielson took the spoils in 17:02 by submission with an Arms Across America. C+

No news of note between Impact and Against All Odds.

I have made a fair sized cock up though. I have managed to get Spike to carry Impact into Canada, however I was too greedy with their sister station Spike TV in extending the contract and they won't enter more negotiations. So I have two issues as a result.

1. The show is moving from a mainstream channel to a cult channel.

2. It is moving from live Saturday night to taped Monday night. This not only causes problems in me writing shows (Impact is recorded on a Saturday so when it comes to the monthly pay per view I will have to write Impact as if it is after the pay per view) but also it is moving from a medium ratings slot to a low ratings slot.

The plus side is I still have Impact on TV and it will now reach all of Canada as well.

Wildcat's been a stand-up champ, but I'd rather see Shamrock with the strap

WWE Invaders (Teddy Hart & The Miz) v Brits Abroad (Chris Hero & Desmond Wolfe)

I doubt they'll lose right away. Well... maybe by DQ  (D)

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

Shot in the dark, but I think Karagias is riding a nice little head of steam

CM Punk v Jimmy Hart's WWE Invader (C-)

I like Punk but I'm betting for the mystery opponent

AJ Styles v D'Lo Brown ©

New Dawn has to win one

He won against Sid Vicious, I think he can handle Doug Williams
