It was announced during the week that TNA President Dixie Carter has signed a deal with Syndication to broadcast a weekly new show on TV network Syndication called Impact. What will this mean for Explosion? Jeff Jarrett is scheduled to address that this week, only four days before Turning Point.</p><p>

Speaking of which, Rick Steiner is still in possession of Ken Shamrock's championship belt. You can bet your bottom dollar, pound, euro, rupee, dong or whatever currency you use that Shamrock will be after both Steiner and his belt.</p><p>

Two weeks ago, AJ Styles embarrassed Buff Bagwell. Bagwell was seething last week. What will happen when they cross paths this week?</p><p> </p><p>

Tune into UrbanXtra on Wednesday for the answers.</p><p> </p><p>

<p>PRE SHOW</p><p>

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Joel Maximo defeated Joe E. Legend in 8:39 by pinfall with a Maximo Explosion. <strong>D</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Explosion</strong></p><p>

Friday, week 3, November 2002</p><p>

Alumni Arena, Savannah, GA.</p><p> </p><p>

Jeff Jarrett is in the ring. He says that he is here not in the capacity of wrestler, but in the capacity of founder of Total Nonstop Action. He says that his father and he had a vision and a dream, to create an alternative wrestling company to "those up North" which can offer a viable alternative with the emphasis on action. He feels that TNA is doing that. What he didn't realise is how difficult the business side would be. He is overjoyed that Dixie Carter has invested in TNA and her signing a TV deal is the first step on the climb up to WWE's level.</p><p>

He asks what about Explosion? Explosion will continue as a monthly two hour special broadcast on UrbanXtra, with the emphasis purely on wrestling. All titles will be defended on the show, and all other matches will focusing on the competitors who are primarily skilled in the ring. The usually monthly pay per views will continue in their usual format, with Christmas Feast being the first to follow this amended schedule. In closing, Jarrett says that he, Jerry and Dixie feel this is the best way to take TNA forwards as well as giving the fans the best shows they are able to put in. For the first time in TNA, Jarrett receives some cheers. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Gary Steele v Jimmy Rave</strong></p><p>

After his less than desireable comeback last week, Steele this week is given somebody much more his level. To both guys' credit, they certainly put in the effort here and put on a good match, better than what many expected. Steele looked like winning this match, a contrast to against Bigelow last week when hitting a move was a success. However, Rave prevailed in 6:55 by pinfall with a Dragon Suplex. Decent opener. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Cameras cut backstage where they pick up Elix Skipper attacking Paul London, stomping on his prone body before leaving. <strong>E</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Desmond Wolfe v Ken Anderson</strong></p><p>

Last week it was Williams v Quackenbush, this time it's their partner's turn. Last week it was the Brit that won, this time it's the wizard, who aptly used all the trickery he could muster in what was a solid enough match. It's just that the crowd don't particularly care much for these teams. Anderson's victory came in 5:53 by pinfall while using the ropes for leverage. <strong>D</strong></p><p> </p><p>

A video plays promoting the tag team champions, America's Most Wanted. <strong>D-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Triple X (Skipper & Romero with Francine) v Johnny Kashmere & Paul London</strong></p><p>

Another decent match, and unlike the opener, the fans are beginning to having interest in these two trios. The attack on Paul London earlier on by Elix Skipper clearly had an effect as London was struggling from the opening bell. This turned out to be the difference maker as in 7:37 Rocky Romero defeated Paul London by submission with a Diablo Armbar. The show has got off to a good start. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Backstage, Air Paris is complaining that since he lost to AJ Styles at Bound for Glory, he hasn't had any opportunities, with a sole loss to Samoa Joe since. Jimmy Rave comes by and gives him an idea... assist him this Sunday at Turning Point. Paris mulls it over before agreeing. <strong>E+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Hernandez v Tatanka</strong></p><p>

Things drop down in this one, mainly due to the two seemingly to share very little in the way of chemistry, which does not bode well for the tag match booked featuring the two in four days time. The partners' result from last week was reversed here, as Tatanka overcame his much less experienced opponent in 10:25 by pinfall with a Tomohawk Chop. <strong>D-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Vader cuts a poor promo on his match on Sunday with Samoa Joe. For some reason he was somewhat incoherent, mumbling his lines and it was difficult to make out what he was saying. <strong>E+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Jeff Jarrett & Steve Corino v Bryan Danielson & CM Punk</strong></p><p>

Two old hands against two youngsters with bags of potential who might make it to the very top. Every time the pace picked up in the match, Danielson and Punk were in control. Corino and Jarrett have both been there and done that, and knew all too well to slow it down and wear down their opponents slowly. This won them the match, but it was close and on another day it could have gone the other way. The finish came in 15:15 when Steve Corino defeated CM Punk by pinfall with an Old School Expulsion. <strong>D+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://www.everyoneisdifferent.com/img/wall-puppy.bmp</span></p><p>

AJ Styles is backstage. He walks into Buff Bagwell's locker room and asks him if he can look after the same puppy for him that he had given to him two weeks earlier. The puppy looks up at Buff with the kind of puppy eyes only puppies can have, wags it's tail and yaps with excitement. Buff tells AJ that he loves the puppy... he's not embarrassed this time, but that's only because he can't hear the "Puff" chants coming from the arena. Buff strokes the puppy, which pees on the floor in excitement. AJ walks off, almost peeing himself with laughter. <strong>C</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Ken Shamrock & America's Most Wanted (with Dawn Marie) v Rick Steiner & Monsters Inc</strong></p><p>

A good match, a good crowd and a not very good at all performance from, surprisingly, Ken Shamrock. Monsters had periods of the match where they dominated, Steiner had spells where he had the better of Shamrock, who maybe had the fact that he doesn't know where his championship belt is, since Steiner didn't bring it with him. Even so, he still had enough class to pull through with the win in 19:08 when he overcame Rick Steiner by submission with an Ankle Lock. Given that, it doesn't look like Steiner has much chance on Sunday. <strong>D+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Mike Tenay and Don West rundown the Turning Point card, hyping the event. <strong>C+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Buff 'The Stuff' Bagwell v Samoa Joe</strong></p><p>

A good bout, where the two combatants were evenly matched. Buff for the first match in some time did not display any homosexual tendancies, in fact whenever he was in control of the match, he went to great lengths to do very manly things, even going as far as going out of the ring mid match to make out with an attractive young lady in the front row. Some jobs eh... I couldn't do that at my place of work! Anyway, in 22:06 the match descended into chaos after AJ Styles and Vader became involved which led to Robert Brisko calling for the bell and throwing the match out, as Styles brawled with Bagwell and Joe with Vader, Explosion drew to a close. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Show rating: D+</strong></p><p>

A number of angles did not reach the standard of in ring action. The show can be considered a success and should increase TNA's popularity.</p><p>

PRE SHOW

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Jose Maximo defeated Super Crazy in 10:02 by pinfall with a Maximo Explosion. The two didn't seem to click. D-

Turning Point

Sunday, week 3, November 2002

Moby Arena, Fort Collins, CO.

Live on UrbanXtra pay per view

http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac78/Nobby_McDonald/TNATurningPoint.jpg

Rick Steiner starts off Turning Point in the ring with the NWA TNA World Heavyweight Championship around his waist, telling Ken Shamrock that if he has his belt back, he can come and get it. Shamrock needs little prompting and he runs down to the ring. He rolls in and Steiner bails out and stands at ringside. Shamrock is incensed and starts yelling at Steiner to give his belt back. He goes to the ropes and leans through them, and Steiner takes off the belt and smashes Shamrock straight in the head with it, causing him to fall and bleed. Steiner leaves for backstage and Shamrock, if possible, is even more pissed than before. C-

Ring Wizards v Pride of Britain

Desmond Wolfe promotes fair play and sportsmanship as the Brits make their way to the ring for the opening contest. Ken Anderson responds when the Wizards walk out by saying it's a load of crap and quotes Vince Lombardi, "Winning isn't everything. It's the only thing."

The match was solid but lacked heat. The Brits put in as good a performance as they have since arriving in TNA and for the first time in some time looked a threat, admittedly against lesser opposition than usual. They still didn't win, maybe sportsmanship doesn't get you anywhere these days. The win for the Wizards came in 6:59 when Mike Quackenbush defeated Desmond Wolfe by pinfall, illegally using the ropes for leverage. D

CM Punk is backstage, talking about his match tonight against Jeff Jarrett. He tells about what a privelige it is for him to face an opponent the calibre of Jeff Jarrett and that he intends on giving everything he has to try and get something out of the match. He says he might not be fighting to defend his title tonight, but he is fighting to prove he has what it takes to ultimately compete at the highest level. C-

Triple X (with Francine) v Backstreet Boyz & Paul London

The rivalry between these started before Bound for Glory and only escalated from the big event, first with the involvement of Rocky Romero and then the allignment of Paul London with Backstreet Boyz. A good match which surprisingly lacked heat, interested was expected to be higher. Paul London put in another poor performance, and it is being noted he has done this now on a few occasions. Backstreet Boyz to the rescue though, and is revenge complete as in 11:38 Trent Acid defeated Elix Skipper by pinfall. Will this go further or will Triple X have a new target? C-

Jimmy Rave (with Air Paris) v 'Mystery Tenth Opponent'

Rave and Paris are standing mid ring. Rave seemingly knows who the 'Mystery Tenth Opponent' from Bound for Glory is, but nobody else does and it's...

http://www.gerweck.net/ultimodragon.jpg

...Ultimo Dragon! The fans go nuts!

Air Paris immediately interjects himself and attacks Dragon on his way to the ring. This backfired as not only did Dragon fight him off, Robert Brisko also sent him to the back. Rave tried to beg off Dragon but Dragon was having none of it and went right to work on Rave. Dragon had some ring rust with not having competed in some time, but he had a lot of the match, put in some offence that some guys can only dream of and disposed of his Bound for Glory tormentor in 11:02 by submission with a Dragon Sleeper. D+

Vader is shown preparing for his match tonight against Samoa Joe. He yells, beats his chest and punches some solid, inamimate objects. Vader is on the slide... this segment bombs. E+

Latin American Exchange v Ernest Miller & Tatanka

LAX have been facing some 'mashed together' tag teams of late, and this trend continued here. Miller & Tatanka's cause was not helped at all when Tatanka rivalled Paul London in the stinking performance stakes. As expected, LAX's teamwork was far more fluid. Even so, Homicide still cheated to get the win. It seems it's his thing. It happened in 9:25 when Homicide defeated Ernest Miller by pinfall with a handful of tights. His tactics work. It chalks up wins and he's getting more hated by the crowd every week. D

'Alpha Male' Monty Brown (with Elizabeth) v Shane Douglas

An average crowd and decent action between two guys that TNA don't seem to know what to do with, so they throw them together in a singles match for something to do. The match was even, but Brown seemed to struggle with stamina and Douglas with niggling injuries from his battles of days past. Brown's stamina is an issue, as if he hopes to compete at the highest level he needs to be able to go for much longer and harder. Douglas has had his days it seems, he is a great former champion in places like ECW but his body is beginning to give way. It sure did in 11:22 when Monty nearly cut him in two with The Pounce, earning a pinfall. D

AJ Styles is shown stretching and generally limbering up for his match against Buff Bagwell. Maybe the TNA fans just don't like preparing for matches... E+

Bryan Danielson v Steve Corino

A match between two guys on the cusp of gatecrashing the top guys in TNA and posing a serious threat to them. Both men in trying to prove themselves threw everything they had at each other. Had this match had a better build up, and had Corino not been suffering from fatigue, it would have been better than it was. As it is, Corino is the man who prevailed and is he looking to position himself to make a challenge to the likes of Ken Shamrock..? Corino's win came in 12:11 by pinfall with an Old School Expulsion. D+

...continued

Rick Steiner speaks from backstage, saying that he has had Shamrock's number ever since he arrived in TNA, he now has his belt and after their match tonight, he will have his championship too. Woof woof! C+

http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac78/Nobby_McDonald/TNAWorldTagteam.jpg

NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

NO DISQUALIFICATION MATCH

America's Most Wanted (champions, with Dawn Marie) v Monsters Inc

Brutal. No other word for it. Only a few minutes in and all four were bleeding after numerous shots with as many weapons as they could get hold off. Did the TNA fans like such hardcore action? Judging by the match rating, it seems not. The bloody brawl turned out to favour the champions more than the challengers, which was a little unexpected. Straight up match and Monsters Inc could use their bulk to their considerable advantage. With no rules and weapons legal, Harris and Storm were able to utilise any methods they desired to negate the huge size disadvantage, and they did so, using chairs, bats, signs, cookie sheets and wrestling's old favourite, a, er... ceramic plant pot, which fit well over Abyss' head until James Storm smashed it with a baseball bat.

The match concludedInc in 16:04 when 'Wildcat' Chris Harris defeated Abyss by pinfall after hitting Abyss over the head with a beer bottle and Storm hitting him in the back with a sledgehammer. America's Most Wanted make defence number 9 of their NWA TNA World Tag Team titles, but none of the four men resembled anything like champions after the match. D-

Jeff Jarrett replies to CM Punk's promo earlier. He remarks he does not care that Punk thinks it is a privilege to face greatness and rather than fighting to see if he can compete with greatness, he is fighting for his job. C-

Samoa Joe v Vader

Young meets old. Future meets past. There is no doubt that Vader is one of wrestling's legends. He may be in the twilight of his career, but he can still put on a decent enough match. Joe could be a wrestling legend. He has stacks of potential, a hybrid style and a unique look. This was an interesting mix. Vader overpowered even Joe on occasion and there were occasions where Vader was struggling to cope with Joe's submission aspect of his wrestling. Tonight... Vader came out on top, despite tiring towards the end. What would be a fascinating match would be Vader back at his peak against Joe when he reaches his peak. That would be worth watching. Sadly, it won't happen other than in fantasy land. Vader wonJoe in 13:21 by pinfall with a Vader Bomb. C-

Buff Bagwell cuts a promo telling how enraged he is with how AJ Styles has been treating him these last few weeks and how embarrassed he is as a result. He promises to beat the living crap out of him tonight. Buff is the Stuff and will never be a puff! D-

CM Punk v Jeff Jarrett

One has to question what Jarrett's thought process is. Instead of chasing Shamrock for the World Championship like he probably should be, he's decided to test out the youth of TNA. So far he has faced Danielson, Joe and now Punk on consecutive pay per views. Does he have a genuine wish for them to develop and succeed? Does he really want to fire them if they underperform? Counting Punk tonight, all three have stepped up greatly when facing Jarrett and put in a very good match, and worried the TNA joint founder in the process. Once again, Jarrett used his years of experience to just about prevail in a hard fought contest in 13:51 by pinfall with The Stroke. What will Jarrett do next? Continue his questionable 'mission' in assessing the young TNA stars, maybe targeting AJ Styles next? Does he go after the World Championship? Does Jarrett even know? C-

Ken Shamrock is in a rage. He is throwing around everything in his locker room that isn't nailed down or screwed to a wall. He yells to Steiner that he is leaving tonight with Shamrock's World Championship belt over his dead body. C

IF BUFF BAGWELL LOSES, HE BECOMES A PUFF

AJ Styles v Buff 'The Stuff' Bagwell

Buff has issued these challenges before, his huge ego gives him the belief he can beat anybody. Monty Brown, Ernest Miller and Tatanka have all failed to 'turn' Buff homosexual. None of those three have embarrassed nor got into the head of Buff the way AJ Styles has. AJ has played a superb game by sending out Buff a catering worker with an order of salad and quiche and then gift and ask Buff to pet sit a cute puppy. It's time for action and Buff is in a rage. So much so that for a good while he seems to forget he is in a wrestling match and just tries to batter AJ. While AJ is still young and learning the ropes, he knew to expect this, and has his way with Buff in the early going.

Buff is crafty though, and works his way on top in the match. That is until, out of nowhere, AJ hits the Pelé. Buff goes crashing down and lies face down in pain, his arms down his side. AJ reaches into his tights and pulls out some pink, furry handcuffs. He rolls Buff over, but instead of covering him he puts the cuffs on Buff. Buff gathers himself together and moves to launch a counter, only to realise he is cuffed. He then notices they are pink furry cuffs, and flies into a rage, racing round the ring and kicking the ring ropes as he goes, while the crowd are in hysterics. AJ meets him with a beautiful drop kick, then picks up the win over a helpless and mad Buff in 14:42 by pinfall with a Styles Clash. Rather than celebrating, AJ motions for somebody to come out of the back.

http://www.middleclasswhiteguy.co.uk/galleries/Vanity/roger%20the%20leather%20man%201.jpg

Buff has a look of complete horror. By stipulation he has to turn into a puff. He is cuffed together by pink furry handcuffs and now a man who looks like a member of The Village People is coming to the ring. AJ laughs as the leather clad man kisses Buff square on the lips before handing him the key to the cuffs. Leather man drags a kicking and screaming Buff out of the ring and to the back with the crowd laughing too much to chant 'puff'.

Unfortunately, in the match itself the AJ and Buff didn't click. D

As we wait for the match between Ken Shamrock and Rick Steiner to commence, Tenay and Don West run us through the Tale Of The Tape. C+

The two men make their entrances, but before the match can start, Jeff Jarrett makes an appearance. He says that since the two seem to fight over the championship belt so much, they can use it in this match in anyway they see fit. C-

http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac78/Nobby_McDonald/TNAWorldHeavyweight.jpg

NWA TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

USE OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP BELT IS LEGAL

Ken Shamrock (champion) v Rick Steiner

Shamrock has been incensed at Steiner ever since he got turned on by him after the Bound for Glory main event and finally he gets the chance of revenge and reclaim his belt that was stolen from him. Shamrock's temper does him more harm than good as despite a successful early onslaught, Steiner remains calm and gets the upper hand as Shamrock tries to rain in wild punches and kicks. So much so that he hit a diving bulldog after around six minutes but Shamrock was able to kick out.

It also seemed to calm him down a bit. Maybe he realised if he continued in this vein then Steiner would have the title by right. The match became an open affair for a good ten minutes, both men scoring numerous near falls and the title looked like it could legitimately go either way.

Then the champion took control and never relinquished. he used holds, suplexes and a frankensteiner to weaken the challenger and won in 20:17 by submission with an Ankle Lock. Ken Shamrock makes defence number 2 of his NWA TNA World Heavyweight title. The match suffered due to a lack of selling. C-

Having picked up the victory, Ken Shamrock celebrates in the ring with his championship belt, the first time he has held it in a month and Turning Point concludes. C

Show rating: D+

The angles did not match the standard of the matches. The show can be considered a success and should increase TNA's popularity.

PREDICTIONS

Only BHK1978 made any predictions for Turning Point and he scored 8. His prize for winning/taking part is he gets to name five out of the ten participants in the Feast or Fired match at Christmas Feast. They can be anybody other than a current champion (therefore cannot pick Shamrock, Punk, Harris and Storm). If they aren't on the TNA roster then I will try and sign them.

Great that you found the gay man funny. There are so many ways I can take the Buff The Puff story. :D

Your selections are all in Feast or Fired. Five more will join them and I will crack on with working towards Christmas Feast now. The next Explosion will probably be posted tomorrow night.

PRE SHOW

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Robert Roode defeated Doug Williams in 7:41 by pinfall with a Northern Lariat. D

Explosion

Friday, week 4, November 2002

Macon Coliseum, Macon, GA.

Ken Shamrock comes to the ring, with the NWA TNA World Heavyweight Championship belt around his waist for the first time, a whole month after he won the title. He speaks about how delighted he is to finally wear the championship and that he feels like a proper champion now he has the gold in his possession. He is also pleased he can now look forward to future challenges and not have to be sidetracked by training to get the belt in his possession.

Jeff Jarrett then appears on the video screen. He says he needs a challenger for Shamrock at Christmas Feast. Shamrock says to bring it on, but Jarrett swerves things by making tonight's main event between Buff Bagwell and Samoa Joe a number one contenders match. Shamrock looks a little surprised. C-

Feast or Fired Qualifying Match

Jimmy Rave v Jody Fleisch

A decent opener, which also had some crowd interest too. Rave has been up and down in his early TNA days, while Fleisch hasn't been very active of late. This seemed to be the deciding factor as Rave came away with the victory and thus enters Feast or Fired, the outcome coming in 7:50 by pinfall with a Rave Clash. C-

Buff Bagwell is on a blind date, his second since coming to TNA. This time, his blind date is...

http://www.middleclasswhiteguy.co.uk/galleries/Vanity/roger%20the%20leather%20man%201.jpg

Buff goes ballistic and starts to insult the man, who calls himself Roger. Roger gives Buff a gift - new ring attire, which is in a box and not visible. Buff insults Roger some more before storming out of the bar, which as the camera pans round is called Camp Bikers. Surprisingly, this segment didn't go down well. E+

Abyss v Super Crazy (with Midajah)

Abyss had the monster's share of a match where Super Crazy refused to lie down and be beat, until Abyss did overmaul him in 7:12 by pinfall with The Black Hole. D

Homicide meets America's Most Wanted backstage. AMW are wary but Hernandez is nowhere to be found. Homicide says he doesn't want a fight... not now anyway. He wants a title match at Christmas Feast. Storm and Harris confer, and agree to the match. C-

Latin American Exchange v Bryan Danielson & Ultimo Dragon

Some good action in this one, though Dragon is showing some signs of ring rust in only his second match back. Again LAX face a tandem that do not regular tag, but there are rumours that Danielson and Dragon may team more regularly in the future. LAX again take advantage, again by Homicide taking the low road in 10:45 when Homicide defeated Ultimo Dragon by pinfall after using a chain wrapped round his fist while Robert Brisko was tied up with Hernandez. D+

Jeff Jarrett is in the ring and says well done to CM Punk for a good performance in losing to him at Turning Point. Jarrett then says he has one man left to test, to see if he can make it big in TNA... that's AJ Styles. AJ has done the most out of all the young guns so far, he's beaten some established stars already... but he's not defeated Jarrett. AJ appears and accepts Jarrett's challenge, saying he'll be added to AJ's list come Christmas Feast. C

Shane Douglas v Tatanka

Two old timers and one of the worst matches in TNA for some time. The match was slow paced and as such got boring as the wrestling was average at best. Douglas got the win in 11:44 by pinfall with a Franchiser, but the match won't have done either man much for his reputation. D-

Rick Steiner talks from backstage, saying how down he feels at losing the NWA TNA World Heavyweight Championship... neglecting the fact he never officially held it. He tells of his depression at losing the belt and wonders whether his career is worth continue after such a deflating defeat. C-

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

CM Punk (champion) v Glenn Gilberti

Surprisingly, this match wasn't much better than Douglas versus Tatanka. It wasn't that neither man was bad... they just weren't good either. It was one of CM Punk's more subdued performances but he didn't enough and retained in 14:15 by pinfall with a Pepsi Plunge. CM Punk makes defence number 6 of his TNA X Division title. D

The announcers put over that five wrestlers have been announced into Feast or Fired - Vader, Elix Skipper, 'Alpha Male' Monty Brown, Ernest Miller and Air Paris. C-

AJ Styles v Rick Steiner

This was a pleasant surprise, one of TNA's best ever matches despite Steiner tiring towards the end of the match. The crowd was great and the in ring action was great in a match that ebbed, flowed and had viewers on the edge of their seats. AJ wins a match that lifts both men, if Steiner is down after losing to Shamrock, it didn't look like it in this performance. AJ triumphed in 19:06 by pinfall with a Styles Clash. C+

Jimmy Rave is seen in his locker room going absolutely mad with delight at qualifying for Feast or Fired. E+

Number One Contender Match

Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell (with Roger) v Samoa Joe

Roger leads a reluctant Buff Bagwell out to the ring, in his new ring gear, looking much like this outfit from a Japanese wrestler...

http://www.japanprobe.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/hard-gay-unmasked.jpg

Roger watches Buff into the ring, patting his ass as he climbs in and kissing him on the lips when he is in the ring. Buff looks like he wants to knock him out, but he has to be a puff so can't.

Joe came out and it got serious, and it was a good match. Buff and Joe both looked dangerous, with Roger cheering on Buff from ringside. The outcome was surprising though, as Rick Steiner came down to the ring and attacked Rick Steiner while Roger was spanking Buff on the ring apron, which had Rudy Charles distracted. This led to Buff getting the win in 17:34 by pinfall with a Buff Blockbuster and will face Ken Shamrock at Christmas Feast. C-

Show rating: C-

A number of angles did not reach the standard of in ring action. The show can be considered a success and should increase TNA's popularity.

PRE SHOW

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Mike Quackenbush defeated Harry Smith in 5:47 by pinfall with a Quackendriver. D+

Impact

Saturday, week 1, December 2002

Decatur Civic Center, Decatur, IL.

Live on Syndication

Jeff Jarrett is in the ring and announces how delighted he is to have Impact on air on Syndication. He tells how the show is going to be born with a bang and so has booked for all titles in TNA to be defended. Steve Corino, Triple X and Ken Anderson will challenge for the titles and Jarrett finishes by warning that tonight's show is the first step on TNA's road to rivalling Vince McMahon's WWE. C

Ken Anderson then comes out and tells how delighted he is that Jeff Jarrett has recognised what a talent he is and he aims to fulfil his faith and beat CM Punk for the X Division Championship tonight. He also hypes up his tag team partner, Mike Quackenbush. D

CM Punk then comes out for Impact's first ever match.

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

CM Punk (champion) v Ken Anderson

Some great heat and good action made up for Punk and Anderson just not clicking at all in the ring. Anderson was confident and ****y before the match, but Punk knocked all this right out of him with a focused and polished performance and eased to a successful defence in 8:15 by submission with a Devil's Lock. CM Punk makes defence number 7 of his TNA X Division title. D

Rick Steiner comes to the ring and he says that people are asking why he attacked Samoa Joe last week and deprive him of a championship match at Christmas Feast. Steiner says it's simple... he couldn't get the better of Ken Shamrock, so he's going to do the next best thing, get the better of his friend, Samoa Joe. Joe isn't impressed, and sprints to the ring to attack Rick Steiner, who quickly retreats. C-

The camera cuts backstage where we see Ken Shamrock warming up. He doesn't look happy with Steiner's comments, but tells of his intention to defeat Steve Corino later tonight. C+

NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

America's Most Wanted (champions, with Dawn Marie) v Triple X (Skipper & Kazarian, with Francine)

Not the best match, but solid enough, with a lukewarm crowd. Standard fare tag team match on the whole, one which could have gone either way. Rocky Romero being absent might have been detrimental for Triple X, with his involvement the match could ultimately have swung their way. However, in 11:07 'Cowboy' James Storm defeated Frankie Kazarian by pinfall with a quick cradle. America's Most Wanted make defence number 10 of their NWA TNA World Tag Team titles. D

AJ Styles bursts into Jeff Jarrett's locker room and tells him in no uncertain terms how disappointed he is in Jeff Jarrett's attitude towards the young, promising stars like Danielson, Punk, Joe and himself. The youngsters are the future and Jarrett needs to nurture them. Jarrett stays silent, but smiles once AJ has left. C+

A video is shown with 'Alpha Male' Monty Brown advertising the Feast or Fired match at Christmas Feast. D+

'Alpha Male' Monty Brown (with Elizabeth) v Jeff Jarrett

Some great heat and good in ring action as TNA's founder is in action against the powerful Brown. Brains beat brawn in this one in a decent match. Brown went for The Pounce but Jarrett side stepped and Brown hit the turnbuckles. Jarrett quickly followed up and won in 8:41 by pinfall with The Stroke. C-

CM Punk talks from backstage, saying how proud he is to be the X Division Champion. He tells of how he does not drink, he does not smoke and he does not take drugs. Wrestling and winning is his drug, and he's high on success at the moment. D+

Homicide cuts a promo prior to his match with AJ Styles, telling how he'll roll him over by any means he needs to succeed. C-

http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m52/droopywalks/Homicide.jpg

AJ Styles v Homicide

If television debuts are anything to go by, Impact has been a huge success and Jeff Jarrett's belief that TNA will one day rival WWE. This match was TNA's best since it's inception six months or so ago. A tight match, quick paced action and crowd that were getting more and more into the match as it went on. Homicide indeed resorted to as many dirty tricks as he could but it was AJ who prevailed in a match which will boost both men's status in TNA. AJ triumphed in 12:46 by pinfall with a Styles Clash. C+

Vader talks about Feast or Fired and how it is aptly named as he will get to feast on nine other stars and claim the title shot. D

NWA TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Ken Shamrock (champion) v Steve Corino

Another good quality match to round off a first television show that will delight TNA management... let's hope the ratings match the action. The two traded offence well and kept the suspense up all the way through the match until Shamrock took it in 13:37 by submission with an Ankle Lock. Ken Shamrock makes defence number 3 of his NWA TNA World Heavyweight title. C

Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell then walks out to the ring while Shamrock is celebrating, and is accompanied by Roger. Roger gives Buff a couple of slaps on the ass as they make their way to the ring, which Buff doesn't look too pleased about. Neither does Shamrock at this interruption. Buff tells Shamrock that his number is up and that Buff is going to have a very happy Christmas when he becomes the World Champion. Shamrock tells Buff that it is not happening on his watch, only for Buff to bitch slap Shamrock. Shamrock has a look of rage, as one would expect, but Roger intervenes and tells Buff he loves it when he gets manly and makes out with him in the middle of the ring. Shamrock's rage turns into pure disgust as Impact goes off the air. C+

Show rating: C-

There was a feeling some of the angles didn't reach the standards of the matches. The show can be considered a success and should increase TNA's popularity.

Attendance: 2000 (sellout)

enjoying the new Puff antics. that was a huge one show loss, but being on TV now should help longterm as you pick up some new fans.

I tried to find some videos of "Ross the Intern" (from the Jay Leno Tonight Show) - his bit with the Crocodile Hunter was hilarious. Would be a funny addition to the entourage. Or bring in Lance Bass and call the group N'Pynk

:D

Either way, I predict a NEW WORLD CHAMPION in the very new future. Shamrock should be ashamed....losing to a puff
