TNA's New Beginnings II

Recommended Posts

PRE SHOW

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Jerry Lynn defeated Alex Shelley in 5:44 by pinfall with a TKO. Lynn was off his game. C

Impact

Sunday, week 1, December 2005

Broadcast on Spike on Monday, week 2, December 2005

Gateway Arena, Sioux City, IA.

http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcT-G9xVWufo39bwbvz1yuJ47KDbr1ecVScZ0jxZZvOMI3HTyqqBQA

Dudleys start Impact in the ring with microphones. They whine about not being NWA TNA Tag Team Champions and that Al Snow and Maven are getting the next shot, conveniently ignoring the fact not only did AK-47 beat them for the belts, they also beat them in the usual rematch too. Brother Ray has an idea, that they enter Feast or Fired and win the Tag Team Championship contract, then they can have a title match whenever they want it. Brother Devon testifies his brother’s idea and says they will qualify next week. C+

TNA NATIONS CUP SEMI FINAL MATCH 3 (deciding match)

EZ Money, Mike Quackenbush & Mike Sanders v Hernandez, Jorge Estrada & Super Crazy

A really good six man tag choc full of action and a very good way to kick off the action on Impact. A lot of pressure was on this match and it showed as everybody made at least one nervous mistake in the match. It was a Quackenbush mistake that led to the conclusion of the match and Mexico advance to the final in 8:40 when Hernandez defeated Mike Quackenbush by pinfall with a Dominator. C+

Backstage and ‘Big Black Love Muscle’ Monty Brown and Chris Kanyon celebrate Buff ‘The Puff’ Bagwell qualifying for Feast or Fired. The three are eating quiche and drinking cocktails. They whoop and holler Buff’s name who tells them he will win the TNA Heavyweight Championship for all the open homosexuals in the world. C-

Kevin Kelly is backstage interviewing Jeff Jarrett and asks him why he has an obsession with beating Steve Corino when Corino has not been interfering in Jarrett’s business. Jarrett just says he doesn’t like him. C+

FEAST OR FIRED QUALIFIER

Chris Hero v ‘Cowboy’ James Storm

An awkward looking bout that lacked cohesion and fluidity and it clearly suffered as a result. ‘Cowboy’ was firmly in control until an appearance from Evan Karagias distracted him. With Storm’s attention away from the match, Hero made the most of the opportunity in 8:35 by pinfall with a Hero's Welcome. D

Desmond Wolfe starts to cut a promo backstage when Ken Shamrock attacks. Clearly still angry at losing his Feast or Fired qualifying match, Shamrock attacks with ferocity and Wolfe needs medical attention by the time Shamrock has finished. C-

‘Wildcat’ Chris Harris is backstage, contemplating his tag team match tonight against Abyss and John Layfield. He vows to get redemption for their cowardly two on one attack last week and will get it whether he has a partner or whether he has to do it himself. Suddenly, Buff ‘The Puff’ Bagwell appears and offers Harris to be his partner. Harris is a little reluctant, but looks Bagwell in the eye and agrees. C-

TV TITLE TOURNAMENT SEMI FINAL

Steve Corino v The Miz

A match which had some solid action but despite the importance of the bout it lacked the edge for it to be good. The wily old timer Corino had the better of the young pretender The Miz, but ended up losing and will not be the TV Champion when he stared at the lights in 11:26 , being defeated by pinfall after a distraction from Jeff Jarrett. The Miz fights for the TV Title next week. D+

Backstage and the Tag Team Champions, AK-47 and their Christmas Feast challengers, Al Snow and Maven are having an altercation regarding their title match. It ends as security and TNA officials wade in to separate the teams, but Maven has the final say when he spits in Kid Kash’s face. Kash as one would expect is furious. C-

Goldust cuts a promo on Feast or Fired, where he says his golden dildo, Gordon, would look great with a shiny gold belt. He holds Gordon in front of his crotch with one hand, and does the ‘want the belt’ gesture with the other. C+

TV TITLE TOURNAMENT SEMI FINAL

Doug Williams v Lance Storm

A much better match and almost to the standard of the exciting opening contest of the night. A match that was highly technical between two of the current day better technicians, and it was Williams who was the better wrestler on the night and moves on to face The Miz for the TV Title on Impact next week, taking this one in 12:18 by pinfall with a Chaos Theory. C

Christian Cage is in a gym, which features a wrestling ring. He says he is going to enact what is going to happen at Christmas Feast when he fights Rey Mysterio Jr. Cage even has an announcer in the gym. The announcer introduces Cage as “The greatest wrestler. Ever.” As Cage climbs in the ring and plays the part. The announcer then introduces Mysterio as “The smallest wrestler. Ever.” And out comes a midget Mysterio. Cage cackles in the ring, asking if it is possible for a wrestler to be that small. Little Mysterio rolls in the ring under the bottom rope and a bell rings. There is even a referee in the ring. Cage punches Little Mysterio in the face, and then hits a Killswitch on him. Cage covers and the referee counts the three. Little Mysterio is not moving as the announcer announces the winner of the match… “Christian Cage. The greatest wrestler. Ever.” C+

Abyss (with Harley Race) & John Layfield v Buff ‘The Puff’ Bagwell & ‘Wildcat’ Chris Harris

A poor main event and quite possibly the worst in TNA history, which is a huge let down given who was involved. The finish didn’t help, when the match descended into complete chaos in 15:12 when as The Truth and Goldust became involved and a six man brawl ensued. Fans were left rather confused by the ending of the whole match as the show just finished with the six men still fighting. D+

Show rating: C-

The show might have hurt TNA’s overall popularity.

Some of the angles helped to lift the show.

Attendance: 4049 (new Impact record)

Loss: $55,181

PRE SHOW

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, D'Lo Brown defeated Little Guido in 7:53 by pinfall with a Low Down. C-

Impact

Sunday, week 2, December 2005

Broadcast on Spike on Monday, week 3, December 2005

Chase Family Arena, West Hartford, CT.

Buff ‘The Puff’ Bagwell is in the ring, cutting a promo on his goal of winning the TNA Heavyweight Championship at Christmas Feast and how proud he is to represent all the open homosexual people of the world. His promo is well received… but not by Harley Race and Abyss, as Abyss’ music hits and he comes striding to the ring. Harley Race says the title is going to his monster Abyss and one more thing… he hates homosexuals. With that, Abyss lays out Buff Bagwell in the ring courtesy of a Black Hole Slam. ‘Big Black Love Muscle’ Monty Brown and Chris Kanyon rush the ring, even Abyss is wary of facing these two, and Race ushers him out of the ring and they walk up the ramp. C+

FEAST OR FIRED QUALIFIER

Brother Devon v Mike Quackenbush

A mediocre opening contest which Devon dominated. However, the result saw probably the biggest upset in TNA history as Devon, in full control was defeated by Quackenbush who became the most unlikely participant in Feast or Fired in 6:37 by pinfall with a fast roll up. Devon has a look of total shock on his face as Quackenbush celebrates his biggest win of his TNA career. D+

Ken Shamrock speaks about his upcoming Christmas Feast match against Desmond Wolfe. He guarantees a victory and if anybody doubts him, they should look at what he did against Wolfe last week on Impact. C

Backstage and Al Snow and Austin Aries clash. They are without their respective partners and the two bicker about who has the better partner and who is the better team. Aries finishes the segment by waving his NWA TNA Tag Team Championship belt in Snow’s face. C-

USA I (‘Big Black Love Muscle’ Monty Brown & Chris Kanyon) v Canada (Lance Storm & Quiet Storm)

A match largely dominated by the American pairing, with Quiet Storm outclassed by the more accomplished talent in the ring with him. Lance fought for Canada, but he couldn’t fight the fight alone and the USA I team advance to the final series against Mexico in 6:34 when Chris Kanyon defeated Quiet Storm by pinfall with a Flatliner. C

A home based video is broadcast profiling Chavo Guerrero Jr. It highlights his childhood, being a part of the famous Guerrero wrestling family and his dream of becoming the TNA Heavyweight Champion. C

Rey Mysterio Jr is in the ring. He calls out his Christmas Feast opponent, Christian Cage. Cage walks to the ring, shouting out “What’s up Little Rey?” Rey talks about his respect for the industry and how he always holds respect for his opponent. Until now. He says Cage has lost all the respect that Rey held for him and he will show to him at Christmas Feast that he is the little man with the big heart. Cage laughs at Rey and says that he’s the bigger man and that’s what counts before leaving. C+

FEAST OR FIRED QUALIFIER

Brother Ray v Bryan Danielson

A much better match than the opener tonight and the other Feast or Fired qualifying match. It was also a much better result for the Dudleys and Ray overcame Danielson who’s form has dipped in recent months. Once Ray won the match in 10:47 by pinfall with a Bubba Bomb, he said to the camera he wants those belts back. C+

Caprice Coleman speaks from backstage, saying he knows Ultimo Guerrero will be a tough opponent next week at Christmas Feast but he is fully prepared to defend the X Division Championship and he is very proud to be the champion of such a distinguished championship. B-

In a corridor backstage and things turn surreal. Goldust is standing polishing Gordon, his golden dildo in front of The Truth. Truth tells Goldust he can’t do that in front of children. Goldust says there are no children around and carries on polishing Gordon. Truth gets angry and says that Little Jimmy asked him what that golden object is and The Truth can’t tell Little Jimmy the truth because children should not know about these sort of things. Goldust looks at The Truth strangely and asks what the hell he is on about. Truth looks at Goldust strangely and says he is sickening. He tells Little Jimmy they are leaving and they leave. C+

TNA TV TITLE TOURNAMENT FINAL

Doug Williams v The Miz

The final and a decent contest between two men who clearly want the title. Miz looked set to win when he hit the Skull Krushing Finale but Williams was able to put his foot on the bottom rope. Miz argued the toss with Mickey Jay about not getting the three count and this allowed Williams to mount a comeback. A comeback that ultimately saw him emerge victorious in 13:44 by pinfall with a Chaos Theory. Doug Williams wins the TNA TV title and is the first man to hold the title for a second time. C+

In the aisle after the match, Kevin Kelly interviews the new TV Champion Doug Williams, where Williams says he is delighted to become the first two time holder of the TV Title and it is extra special to do it one year after his first reign ended. C-

John Layfield v ‘Wildcat’ Chris Harris

A quality main event between two of the favourites for Feast or Fired. The contest was a tough one and even one with both men not giving an inch. Harris was looking good but couldn’t put Layfield away, while Layfield often used bully boy and underhanded tactics to gain the advantage in the match. These underhanded tactics became the difference maker in 19:28 when Layfield won by pinfall by using the ropes for leverage. Harris is seething and points to Layfield, who backs up the ramp, saying this time next week he will be in his rightful place of being the TNA Heavyweight Champion. B-

Show rating: C

The show can be considered a success and should increase TNA’s popularity.

Some of the angles did not reach the standard of the matches.

’Cowboy’ James Storm v Evan Karagias

A decent opening match and hopefully a platform that the show will really build from. Storm’s brawling style overcame Karagias’ aerial arsenal as the Cowboy took the match to some crowd heat in 8:58 by pinfall with a 8-Second Ride. C

Jerry Lynn & The Miz v New Announce Team

The good start was maintained in an entertaining tag team match between former champions in Lynn and Miz and a team looking to establish themselves as contenders to the title. It was the former champions who defeated the up and comers in 10:48 when The Miz defeated The Amazing Red by pinfall with a Mizard of Oz. C

Kevin Kelly is backstage with the Dudleys. Devon is still not over his loss to Mike Quackenbush on Impact which has kept him out of Feast or Fired and apologises to his brother Ray and then wishes him luck. Ray tells Devon not to worry, he will do the job tonight. E+

Jeff Jarrett v Steve Corino

A very good match where Jarrett displayed his inexplicable recent hatred for Steve Corino, despite Corino not having anything to do with Jarrett, the complete opposite as Corino has been occupied with the TV Title Tournament and the TNA Nations Cup. Jarrett’s passion to defeat Corino carried him through as he pulled it off in 16:32 by pinfall with The Stroke. B-

NWA TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

AK-47 (champions) v Al Snow & Maven (with Jimmy Hart)

A good tag team match between two teams who work really well together. AK-47 have certainly made themselves the bona fide champions, especially given their wins over the Dudleys and they cemented their reputation by disposing of their challengers in 12:42 when Austin Aries defeated Al Snow by pinfall with a 450° splash. AK-47 make defence number 2 of their NWA TNA World Tag Team titles. C

Backstage and we see Abyss warming up under the direction of Harley Race. Abyss is hitting a concrete wall. C+

Desmond Wolfe v Ken Shamrock

A slightly disappointing match and one which Shamrock clearly had the better of Wolfe, his dominance in the match eventually paying dividends in 7:59 by submission with an Ankle Lock. Shamrock eyes are bulging as he stands over a prone Wolfe who is clutching his ankle. C-

Happy Bummers v Latin American Exchange

‘Big Black Love Muscle’ Monty Brown and Chris Kanyon both wanted in the Feast or Fired match scheduled for later tonight while their third gay in their ménage a trois is in. Their minds were distracted by this away from this tag team match and they clearly were not as slick in the ring as they normally are. This allowed LAX to outmanoeuvre them and led them to win the contest in 12:22 when Hernandez defeated Chris Kanyon by pinfall with a Dominator. C+

John Layfield speaks from the backstage interview area. Layfield says he will take the belt as he should have taken the old belt from CM Punk back at Turning Point. C+

TNA X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

Caprice Coleman (champion) v Ultimo Guerrero

An exciting, fast paced and entertaining match up fought almost as much in the air as on the mat. The crowd were lapping up the action, especially when Coleman was in charge. Ultimo earned this title challenge a few weeks ago on Impact and did his level best to make the most of his opportunity, but Coleman made another impressive title defence in 14:54 by pinfall with a Thermal Shock. Caprice Coleman makes defence number 9 of his TNA X Division title. B-

Moments prior to Feast or Fired, Goldust speaks of his desire about a gold blend of his golden dildo Gordon and the TNA Heavyweight Championship belt. C+

Abyss (with Harley Race), Brother Ray, Buff ‘The Puff’ Bagwell, Chavo Guerrero Jr, Chris Hero, Goldust, John Layfield, Mike Quackenbush, The Truth, ‘Wildcat’ Chris Harris

Four briefcases with four different outcomes. One difference from previous years is that this year instead of their being a TNA Heavyweight Championship match, this time there is the TNA Heavyweight Championship itself.

The match started with a wild ten man brawl, before Ray, Abyss, Buff and The Truth spilled out to the floor and continued brawling, allowing some wrestling to happen in the ring.

Chris Hero was the first to try and pull down a briefcase, but Chavo Guerrero Jr stopped him from retrieving his prize.

At around the twelve minute mark, the first case was retrieved as case 1 was reached and unhooked by the big surprise in the match, Mike Quackenbush. Surely the huge underdog is not going to be the first TNA Heavyweight Champion? A delighted Quackenbush leaves the ring and up the ramp, where he hands his briefcase to Dusty Rhodes on the ramp who places it on the first podium of four set up at the side of the stage at the top of the ramp.

Six minutes later and it’s Brother Ray who climbs the turnbuckles and after fighting off John Layfield, fetched down case 4. Ray is heard in his loud voice as he approaches Dusty Rhodes that he is getting the Tag Team Championship back for he and his brother. Dusty places case 4 on the second podium.

The remaining eight men are in the ring. Abyss starts to dominate. He lays to waste Chavo, Hero, Harris, Goldust, Truth and Buff in that order. With six men down and not looking like getting up any time soon, Abyss turns and sets his eyes on Layfield. Layfield plays the coward, backs off and leaves the ring. He leaves Abyss to freely climb up and reach case 3. Cowardly or a calculated risk? Layfield marches to the remaining case with everybody down, however as Chavo rises, Abyss nails Layfield with the briefcase he gained possession of only moments earlier. The crowd cheer for the first ever time at Abyss in TNA and Chavo races up the corner and gets case 2 in 29:38. Layfield gets up slowly and goes nuts when he realises what has happened as Chavo races up the ramp away from Layfield and Abyss. Race leads Abyss up the ramp and Dusty puts the briefcases on the relevant podiums and announces that the briefcases will be opened after the Christian Cage v Rey Mysterio Jr match. C+

Christian Cage v Rey Mysterio Jr

A great match with a crowd firmly behind Rey. Rey fought with passion and anger, rightfully feeling he has been disrespected by Christian Cage in recent weeks. His heart and his speed made up for his lack of size as he was more than competitive against Cage. It looked like Rey was going to win when ‘Little’ Rey walked to the ring, the same midget brought out by Christian Cage a couple of weeks ago dressed like Rey Mysterio. Little Rey was dressed exactly how Rey was tonight and Rey completely took his eye off the match to start arguing with Little Rey, who climbed up the steps onto the apron. Cage recovered in the ring, cackled with laughter and attacked Rey from behind. His stiff shot set him up for a win in 32:24 by pinfall with an Unprettier, to loud displeasure from the crowd. B

Attention returns to the stage. Dusty Rhodes is in front of the podiums with the briefcases on them and he introduces the four men who earned the briefcases in turn… Mike Quackenbush, Brother Ray, Abyss and Chavo Guerrero Jr. The four men appear and stand behind their respective podium. Dusty stands to the side and tells Mike Quackenbush to open his briefcase. A delighted Quackenbush clicks open his briefcase and slowly opens it. Joy turns to despair…

MIKE QUACKENBUSH IS FIRED!

A crestfallen Quackenbush’s head drops. Dusty says it is a horrible way for the huge underdog to go, but the rules have to be followed and he gives Quackenbush his best wishes. A silent arena sees Quackenbush leave the stage, crying.

The other three are happy. They know now they won’t be fired and have an increased chance of winning the big one. Brother Ray is next. Click click…

BROTHER RAY IS THE FIRST TNA HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!

Brother Ray is ecstatic, no surprise. He throws his arms in the air as Dusty Rhodes presents him with the new championship belt. Ray says he did this all for himself as he holds the belt aloft. The crowd boos as he leaves.

A little anticlimactic, Abyss is next to open his case. Behind his mask, the feeling is he is unhappy as he reveals…

ABYSS GETS A TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH.

Abyss leaves without a word. Chavo is happy with this as not only has he not been beat up by Abyss, he also has the remaining case which given the choice would clearly have been his second pick.

CHAVO GUERRERO JR GETS AN X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH.

Dusty thanks the fans in attendance and TNA sees Brother Ray as the Heavyweight Champion and Mike Quackenbush leaving the company.

PRE SHOW

In a match that had some good action and average heat, 'Cowboy' James Storm defeated Shoichi Funaki in 7:33 by pinfall with a Superkick. C

Impact

Sunday, week 3, December 2005

Broadcast on Spike on Monday, week 4, December 2005

Cowan Spectrum, Moscow, ID.

Dusty Rhodes starts Impact in the ring. First, Dusty congratulates Brother Ray on becoming the first TNA Heavyweight Champion and now as TNA Director of Authority, he has to decide who should be the first number one contender to Ray’s championship. Dusty gets interrupted by John Layfield, who says it is simple, only he can be the number one contender as he never received the shot he was lined up to have. Dusty says Layfield has a point but he has other ideas. He asks three other wrestlers to come to the ring and one by one, at Dusty’s request, out come Buff ‘The Puff’ Bagwell, Goldust and ‘Wildcat’ Chris Harris. With the four in the ring, Dusty says he knows any one of the four would be a very credible challenger for Brother Ray at Genesis, so to decide which one will challenge, the four will meet in a fatal four way match on next week’s edition of Impact. Furthermore, Layfield will team with Goldust and take on Bagwell and Harris in a tag team match in tonight’s main event. Layfield is not happy, but the others are as we go to a commercial. C+

Los Guerreros v Young Bucks

Los Guerreros team up for the first time as Chavo Jr teams up with Ultimo. The two look very good against the Bucks, though were helped by Matt putting in a stinker. The match was very well received by those watching. Guerreros’ debut match together saw a debut victory in 6:16 when Ultimo Guerrero defeated Nick Buck by pinfall with an El Nudo. C+

EZ Money and Vampiro are seen backstage arguing about who can beat who. Nobody wins. D+

Ken Shamrock is backstage and clashes with Brits Abroad, who aren’t happy with how he beat up and then defeated Desmond Wolfe in the past week. Shamrock stands his ground and the three men don’t come to blows, but Brits Abroad tell Shamrock they are gunning for him. D+

Lance Storm v Paul London

A really good match helped by the two showing some great chemistry. London provided some exciting action with his fast paced action but he was outwrestled by Lance in 8:38 by submission with a Straightshooter. B-

AK-47 are in the office Dusty Rhodes. Dusty says he is in the mood to give people their next challenge tonight, so he tells the Tag Team Champions that they will be defending their title against Latin American Exchange at Genesis. Both Austin Aries and Kid Kash say bring them on. C-

In the backstage interview area, Rey Mysterio Jr has started cutting a promo about his loss to Christian Cage at Christmas Feast, saying he is hugely disappointed and has let people down. Cage walks by and taunts Rey into attacking, but Cage wanted it and backs off. C+

USA I (Chris Kanyon) v Mexico (Super Crazy)

A keenly fought but somewhat disappointing match and Mexico took the league in the second TNA Nations Cup final courtesy of Crazy defeating Kanyon in 11:27 by pinfall with a Trifecta Moonsault. C-

In a segment recorded before the show, Chavo Guerrero Jr is seen out celebrating his gaining of the X Division Championship match Feast or Fired briefcase by downing tequila out on the town. C-

Backstage and Al Snow is not happy with losing the chance to become the Tag Team Champions and he is not happy with Maven’s performance last Sunday. Maven looks solemn and takes in what Snow says. C-

TNA TV TITLE

Doug Williams (champion) v D’Lo Brown

A good match which sees Williams make the first defence of his second TV Title reign. He overcame his first challenger with aplomb by putting in a measured and strategic performance where he made only rare mistakes, retaining in 11:32 by pinfall with a Chaos Theory. Doug Williams makes defence number 1 of his TNA TV title. C+

Kevin Kelly is backstage, interviewing the first TNA Heavyweight Champion, Brother Ray. Ray says he is delighted to be champion and did it for the Dudleys, with Brother Devon standing at his side. Ray says he’ll beat whoever wins the four way next week. Devon looks subdued at Ray’s side, complete contrast to Ray’s happiness. C

In the depths of the buildings, Harley Race is hyping up his monster Abyss, saying he will win the Tag Team Championship when he is good and ready. C+

Buff ‘The Puff’ Bagwell & ‘Wildcat’ Chris Harris v Goldust & John Layfield

A disappointing main event especially as it featured four established wrestlers who all have been or could be the Heavyweight Champion. Bagwell and Harris looked good but it was Layfield who stood tall at the end and in the process made himself the favourite to win the four way next week and earn the championship match at Genesis, when he took this tag team main event in 17:14 when John Layfield defeated Buff 'The Puff' Bagwell by pinfall with a Clothesline From Hell. Dusty Rhodes is in the ring to start Impact and asks the X Division Champion, Caprice Coleman to come to the ring. Rhodes tells him he is very impressed with his reign as the X Division Champion, and Coleman thanks Rhodes for his kind words. Dusty says any new challenger that Coleman faces needs to earn the right to face Coleman, who Rhodes says is one of, if not the best X Division Champion in TNA history. Coleman looks a little embarrassed by Rhodes’ words but thanks him again. Dusty announces that ten X Division wrestlers will meet in a battle royal tonight and the winner will face Caprice Coleman for the championship at Genesis. Coleman looks happy with the competition. USA I (Steve Corino) v Mexico (Jorge Estrada)

A disappointing contest not helped by the fact the two didn’t seem to gel in the ring. Just about the only thing positive in the match for the fans was the outcome, where USA I equalled the series in 5:52 when Corino won by pinfall with an Old School Expulsion. D

On his way to the back following his win, Steve Corino is brutally attacked by Abyss, who is wielding a barbed wire baseball bat. Abyss leaves Corino battered, bloody and beaten, with Harley Race looking on and laughing. C+

TNA TV TITLE

Doug Williams (champion) v Brother Devon (with Jimmy Hart)

A much better match than the poor opening contest. Devon looked to follow his brother Ray in winning a singles title soon after they lost the Tag Team Championship. He gave Williams a good fight and also matched him for some time mat wrestling. Williams toughed it out and retained in 9:05 by pinfall with a Chaos Theory. Doug Williams makes defence number 2 of his TNA TV title. C

The Tag Team Champions, AK-47 are seen out on the town in Birmingham. Austin Aries gets Kid Kash to talk to some women in the bar. Kash tries a smooth one liner, but the girl rejects him and Aries laughs at him. Kash stomps off in a mood. C-

Christian Cage is backstage, wearing a Rey Mysterio Jr mask. He mocks Rey’s popularity with the fans, by standing with some fans who are also wearing Rey masks. He tries to high five them, but misses low, before hugging a fan’s legs. C+

X DIVISION NUMBER ONE CONTENDER BATTLE ROYAL

Air Paris, Chavo Guerrero Jr, Jerry Lynn, Joel Maximo, Lance Storm, Paul London, Rey Mysterio Jr, The Amazing Red, The Miz, The Truth

An exciting, fast paced and high flying X Division fest. There were no early eliminations, quite the opposite in fact as Jerry Lynn and Joel Maximo were the only ones not to be eliminated in the last couple of minutes. It boiled down to Lance Storm squaring off against Paul London, with Lance earning the match against Caprice Coleman in 14:56. B-

Following the match, Caprice Coleman appeared and applauded the wrestlers efforts, Lance Storm saying he’s after Coleman’s belt. B-

Backstage and Kevin Kelly is talking to ‘Cowboy’ James Storm. Storm says he feels like he is becoming a forgotten man, so he makes a statement he is going to make his mark in TNA. C

Billy Kidman v Jamie Noble

TNA’s latest signing is former WWE star Jamie Noble. Noble strides to the ring with purpose and fights Kidman in a no nonsense, get things done style. Kidman counter wrestled Noble well but Noble prevailed in a very good match that had the TNA fans applauding both wrestlers at the end in 9:35 Noble coming through by submission with a Guillotine Choke. Ken Shamrock speaks from backstage, laughing off the threat from Brits Abroad that they will get their revenge on Shamrock beating on Desmond Wolfe. C-]/b]

NUMBER ONE CONTENDERS MATCH

Buff ‘The Puff’ Bagwell v Goldust v John Layfield v ‘Wildcat’ Chris Harris

A tense match with a championship match at stake and with champion Brother Ray on commentary. The four men knew what was at stake and tried to wrestle mistake free. There was a moment where Buff simulated anal sex with Goldust’s golden dildo, Gordon, only for Goldust to attack him from behind to the crowd’s displeasure.

The match progressed and with all four men growing weary from the match, Mickey Jay took a bump. Then…

http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRoE0KRqjPxIA591RMFwTyVwCW4MOfnY1JvC9jqeGAS_2tiipcsyg

The crowd is stunned as Brock Lesnar climbs over the barriers, being led by Eric Bischoff. Lesnar slides into the ring and nails Buff Bagwell with the F5. Half the crowd boo loudly while half go nuts for Brock. Potter can’t believe on commentary that Lesnar has turned up in TNA. In the ring, Lesnar hits John Layfield with the F5 before doing the same to Goldust and ‘Wildcat’ Chris Harris. Eric Bischoff then beckons Lesnar out of the ring and leads him up the ramp. Back in the ring, a groggy Mickey Jay begins to come too with all four wrestlers down in the ring… but Buff drapes an arm over Harris and a slow 1… 2… 3… in 15:01 and Buff has got the title match! C+

Up on the stage, Eric Bischoff and Brock Lesnar do not appear concerned that Buff Bagwell won the match. Eric acts as Brock’s mouth piece and they put TNA on notice that he and Brock Lesnar will dominate TNA. B-

Show rating: C+

The show can be considered a success and should increase TNA’s popularity
