Total Championship Wrestling: Tuesday Night Wars

Good PPV, but if you ask me, Rick Law can deliver... just not under the current TNA,? =TCW I assume, product settings. I mean, a B is good and all, but this is the Main Event. Considering TCW's talent, this should have been a B+ main event.

Law can definitely deliver its more Golden dragging it down imho. In both 08 ,where I often changed to product to the 10 one and in 10 I have had multiple A matches out of Law, Golden still needs seasoning.

Yeah, Golden is still a project. He has improved quite nicely, but he is not there yet. May never quite get to the level where he no longer requires any protect at all as a main eventer. My hope is that he keeps gradually improving over time, but I have backup plans for him if he doesn't. I knew I was asking for some problems when I decided to keep the belt on him, but it does add to the challenge a bit.

Hehe yeah understand the challenge part, because after a while if you play it enough you can book good enough shows no problem, so its fun to challenge oneself. Also why diaries help as they force you to book more interesting storyline driven instead of high grade angles driven. So instead of one face off no contact every week you are forced to diversify.

Very much so.

When I am playing a non-diary game, I tend to end up power-gaming a bit too much. I use and overuse angles that will grade strong, rather than picking grades that suit the story I am trying to tell. I don't necessarily stop and think "Who exactly do I need on-screen in this angle? What exactly should they be doing?" I just pick something that fits and willl grade. Same goes for booking of matches - they don't tend to get the same amount of thought in a non-diary game. When its going to be written up as part of a project, I have to stop and think what effect the match has on current and past storylines, what it does for each worker, and how I will present it.

If this was a non-diary TCW game, I probably would have taken the belt off of Golden already. Not just for spite - he did win it in August, so he's had it for several months by the beginning of the game in January. I also definitely would not have taken my best worker off screen - or out of the ring, at least, since he did appear on TV once - for a month.

The real downside to a diary game, I find, is that the game itself is slow moving. I usually don't book much ahead of where I am in the diary, as I just find it easiest to work that way. There are many times when I am just itching to book ahead and play out many of the ideas I have lined up. It can be frustrating. On Generation Supreme, I actually just stuck to that game. I just wanted to maintain that focus. This time around, I've realized that playing other games on TEW might actually be good, as it allieviates that frustration to a degree. I have a 2002 WWF game I'm playing around with at the moment, plus I'm considering some ideas for a non-diary TCW. Though those games take away time I could be putting into writing up shows, it keeps away the burnout and will hopefully mean a longer project here in TNW.

Did I write TNA? That's a freudian slip, I swear. I wasn't even thinking about TNA. :(

No worries. I assumed you meant TCW.

That said, there are some interesting correlations between TCW and TNA. I've never taken TCW as the C-verse version of TNA, but I can definitely see how someone might.

Preview of TCW Presents Total Wrestling

Tuesday, Week 1, May 2010

There is sure to be some fallout from the Where Angels Fear to Tread this week on Total Wrestling. Moreover, after an absence of a month - well, sorta - TCW legend Tommy Cornell returns to Total Championship wrestling. He will be where he belongs, inside the TCW ring.

Its a week full of tag team action - literally. One of professional wrestling's most promising and talked about young teams will be action, as the brothers Keith take on the throw-together team of Benny Benson and James Prudence. Making things even more interesting is that Benson and Prudence were opponents at the pay per view in the All Action championship ladder match.

A big eight-man tag team match will put three of the most experienced teams in TCW in the ring with two of the most talented wrestlers on the roster. The TCW World Tag Team champions will team up with TCW World Heavyweight champion Rocky Golden and Bryan Vessey, to take on the combination of The Machines and The Tag Team Specialists.

An interesting match will see the Total Violence Connection taking on the Freedom Fighters. Its doubtful that Eddie Peak will be in any condition to wrestle after the huge fall he took at Where Angels Fear to Tread. Peak is unlikely to receive any quarter from RDJ and Minnesota, both of whom he's had bloody feuds with in the past two years.

The main event will see the Burning Pride duo of Koshiro Ino and Joshua Taylor take on the impressive newcomers, Samoan Violence Unlimited. After looking impressive in the four-way tag team ladder match at WAFTT, the Samoans have made some new fans. Burning Pride are also a promising duo, who some have pegged as future TCW World Tag Team champions. One of these teams will have that chance, as the winner here becomes the #1 contenders for the TCW World Tag Team champions. It appears the Home Office want some "new blood" in the tag title scene.

You don't want to miss out. TCW Presents Total Wrestling is available across North America on GNN Total Sports.

The L.A. Connection vs The Syndicate

Too much star power here to this to go on any other direction

The Keith Clan (Greg Keith & Matthew Keith) vs Benny Benson & James Prudence

Benny and James are pretty much random pairing at this point so Keith´s pick up a win here

Rocky Golden, Bryan Vessey, Guide & Scout vs Brent Hill, John Anderson, Joel Bryant & Robert Oxford

You want to keep Golden strong and there isn´t big enough name in other team to make a loss here acceptable.

Total Violence Connection (Eddie Peak & Genghis Rahn) vs Freedom Fighters (Ricky Dale Johnson & Joey Minnesota)

I found it hard to predict against RDJ and Peak and Rahn just doesn´t have enough momentum to beat Freedom Fighters.

Burning Pride (Koshiro Ino & Joshua Taylor) vs Samoan Violence Unlimited (Bali So' & Rav Umaga)

TCW World Tag Team titles #1 Contenders Match

Samoans win and set up a traditional face/heel matchup.

Duh

The Keith Clan (Greg Keith & Matthew Keith) vs Benny Benson & James Prudence

Teamwork v tension...hmmmm I wonder who wins?

Rocky Golden, Bryan Vessey, Guide & Scout vs Brent Hill, John Anderson, Joel Bryant & Robert Oxford

This was looking interesting till the last two men were Joel and Robert :(

Total Violence Connection (Eddie Peak & Genghis Rahn) vs Freedom Fighters (Ricky Dale Johnson & Joey Minnesota)

Eddie has the excuse of his 'injury', Genghis is just an excuse....for a wrestler

Burning Pride (Koshiro Ino & Joshua Taylor) vs Samoan Violence Unlimited (Bali So' & Rav Umaga)

As I predicted in the PPV, the face champs need a heel team to face. Burning Pride will fit in nicely as another face team - maybe to face the Machines for a while.

Seems a strange choice of main event though???

The L.A. Connection vs The Syndicate

Glorified squash

The Keith Clan (Greg Keith & Matthew Keith) vs Benny Benson & James Prudence

The Keiths seem like a more solid pairing, but have they built up enough overness yet not to hurt someone like Benny Bension's standing in the eyes of the fans, I take the guess that they have built up just enough overness here to warrant going over.

Rocky Golden, Bryan Vessey, Guide & Scout vs Brent Hill, John Anderson, Joel Bryant & Robert Oxford

More star power on the side of the faces

Total Violence Connection (Eddie Peak & Genghis Rahn) vs Freedom Fighters (Ricky Dale Johnson & Joey Minnesota)

DQ win, Freedom Fighters are still very much near the top of the card, but TVC continue to look a bit bad-ass dishing out an unwarranted violent beatdown to the babyfaces.

Burning Pride (Koshiro Ino & Joshua Taylor) vs Samoan Violence Unlimited (Bali So' & Rav Umaga)

TCW World Tag Team titles #1 Contenders Match

Right now the belts are still round the waists of the New Wave, who are faces and Samoan Violence have been booked as instant threats for the tag titles.

Whoa a special tag edition?

No. Well yes, but not intentionally so. Picked the main couple of matches which were tags, then decided just to use mutli-man matches for the filler. They tend to work quite well, so I figured no harm.

Seems a strange choice of main event though???

It is. But its very intentionally so.

For one, it establishes both teams as deserving to be near the top of the card. Assuming the match delivers, at least. They are right there in terms of overness. Both Ino and Taylor are very solid upper midcarders in terms of overness. Umaga is as well, and Bali (Samoan Machine) has somehow become a fringe main eventer. I swear Bali went from fringe upper midcard to fringe main eventer in the last week of April and I'm not sure how. They rocketed up the card as it was just from being in quite a few segments and a few dark squash matches on the B show...

For another, there's actually something on the line. The eight-man match coudl've worked as a main event, but less so with the Tag Team Specialists involved. Plus, its more the kind of main event I would use heading into a pay per view. I wavered between using the Samoans-Pride match or the FF-TVC. While the latter has more established stars, putting the other match as the main event says something. There is a shot at The New Wave on the line. Plus, Eddie Peak is "beat up" after his big fall on the PPV.

The L.A. Connection vs The Syndicate - Syndicate are still the Syndicate.

The Keith Clan (Greg Keith & Matthew Keith) vs Benny Benson & James Prudence - Keith Brothers have the tag team experience.

Rocky Golden, Bryan Vessey, Guide & Scout vs Brent Hill, John Anderson, Joel Bryant & Robert Oxford - Nobody on the heel team worth jobbing Golden too.

Total Violence Connection (Eddie Peak & Genghis Rahn) vs Freedom Fighters (Ricky Dale Johnson & Joey Minnesota) - Rahn's in there to take the fall.

Burning Pride (Koshiro Ino & Joshua Taylor) vs Samoan Violence Unlimited (Bali So' & Rav Umaga) - Set up New Wave vs. Samoans.

Rocky Golden, Bryan Vessey, Guide & Scout vs Brent Hill, John Anderson, Joel Bryant & Robert Oxford - Vessey pins Oxford

Total Violence Connection (Eddie Peak & Genghis Rahn) vs Freedom Fighters (Ricky Dale Johnson & Joey Minnesota)

The L.A. Connection vs The Syndicate

I see no reason for the Syndicate to put over a midcard team without a very good reason.

The Keith Clan (Greg Keith & Matthew Keith) vs Benny Benson & James Prudence

Benson and Prudence have pretty much become whipping boys for those who need a push and the Keith boys need to stay relevant after their loss at WAFTT.

Rocky Golden, Bryan Vessey, Guide & Scout vs Brent Hill, John Anderson, Joel Bryant & Robert Oxford

I originally went for the heels to take this but there's no reason for the tag champs to lose to two teams who don't seem in title contention at all.

Total Violence Connection (Eddie Peak & Genghis Rahn) vs Freedom Fighters (Ricky Dale Johnson & Joey Minnesota)

Eddie being injured gives enough justification for the Freedom Fighters to maintain their momentum without the TVC coming off as weak.

Burning Pride (Koshiro Ino & Joshua Taylor) vs Samoan Violence Unlimited (Bali So' & Rav Umaga)

Unless Burning Pride turn here (meaning even MORE tag team heels in an already face-light division) the heels need to take the duke to set themselves up for a feud with the New Wave.

Squash.

The Keith Clan (Greg Keith & Matthew Keith) vs Benny Benson & James Prudence

Keiths start to gain momentum with a win over a thrown together team.

Rocky Golden, Bryan Vessey, Guide & Scout vs Brent Hill, John Anderson, Joel Bryant & Robert Oxford

In terms of the Tag Specialists this is another squash.

Total Violence Connection (Eddie Peak & Genghis Rahn) vs Freedom Fighters (Ricky Dale Johnson & Joey Minnesota)

RDJ is going to face Cornell at the PPV and Minnesota needs a win after losing to Wolf.

Burning Pride (Koshiro Ino & Joshua Taylor) vs Samoan Violence Unlimited (Bali So' & Rav Umaga)

TCW World Tag Team titles #1 Contenders Match

Ino lost at WAFTT, so my 'don't predict against Ino' vow is void. Come to think of it, everyone in this match let me down at WAFTT, so to heck with all of them. I'm going with an ECW-like moment, with a team not in the match running in and winning:Buffalo-Thatcher (Premium Beef).

The L.A. Connection vs The Syndicate It's the Syndicate

The Keith Clan (Greg Keith & Matthew Keith) vs Benny Benson & James Prudence Clan? Really?

Rocky Golden, Bryan Vessey, Guide & Scout vs Brent Hill, John Anderson, Joel Bryant & Robert Oxford You know what? I can see an upset here. There's enough heat on the faces that it could outweigh their talent/momentum advantage through sheer shenanigans

Total Violence Connection (Eddie Peak & Genghis Rahn) vs Freedom Fighters (Ricky Dale Johnson & Joey Minnesota) Think I can see where this is going...

Burning Pride (Koshiro Ino & Joshua Taylor) vs Samoan Violence Unlimited (Bali So' & Rav Umaga) Only the need to avoid a monster push is going to cost SVU this match...

The TCW logo fades into a shot of the crowd, which is loud and rowdy. The mid west fans are ready for some traditional pro wrestling and they let it be heard. "Tee-Cee-Dub... Tee-Cee-Dub... Tee-Cee-Dub..."

Jason Azaria: Bringing you the very best in professional wrestling, this is... Total Championship Wrestling! I am Jason Azaria, and with me is my broadcast partner, Kyle Rhodes.

Kyle Rhodes: Good evening to one and all. Tonight, we will start out with a “treat” as we get to welcome back 5-time TCW World Heavyweight champion, Tommy Cornell. Let's get things started.

http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k235/Bigpapa42_2006/Wrestling/TCW/Workers/Small%20Alt/TommyCornell_alt5Small.jpghttp://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k235/Bigpapa42_2006/Wrestling/TCW/Media/BlankPartSmall.jpghttp://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k235/Bigpapa42_2006/Wrestling/TCW/Workers/Small%20Alt/WolfHawkins_alt3Small.jpg

Tommy Cornell & Wolf Hawkins

In-Ring Promo

The Iowa crowd is loud, but they get deafening when “Breaking the Law” by Judas Priest begins to play, hearkening the arrival of “Mr. TCW” himself. The man emerges already wearing his trademark sneer. Along with his ring gear. He stands on the stage, glaring for a long moment, before he is joined by his protege and tag team partner, Wolf Hawkins. They make their way down to the ring and slowly climb in. Cornell takes some time to pose before he takes a microphone. The fans boo and he waits it out before he can speak.

Tommy Cornell: I know you lot are happy to see me...

He grins for a moment, then sneers.

Tommy Cornell: Right then... Straight to the brass tacks. Does it make you feel like a man to throw out a challenge to me, Johnson? You do it often enough, right? And you know what I never turn them down? Because I never tire of beating you. I never get weary of hurting you. I never stop enjoying being better than you.

He stops, glaring at the camera and the fans.

Tommy Cornell: You want to step into the Final Reckoning Cell with me, Johnson? Have you ever beaten me in a cage match of any kind? I seem to remember destroying you in the Test of Steel. You want to think you're Sam Strong, fine then. You want to go out on your shield, fine then. Its your funeral.

This sends a roar of approval through the fans.

Tommy Cornell: Now, my young fiend here has been busy while I was gone. Busy indeed.

Hawkins smiles, pretty happy with himself and what he accomplished in Cornell's absence. Then he realizes that Cornell doesn't look so happy and the smile gradually fades.

Tommy Cornell: If he can find the time, I'm hoping my young pad-wan here can help me remind all you lot why I'm the greatest wrestler in the world.

Obviously rebuked, Hawkins merely nods. The pair then await their opponents.

Grade: A

Kyle Rhodes: I don't think Cornell is too impressed with Hawkins right now.

Jason Azaria: Indeed.

The Syndicate vs The L.A. Connection

493 lbs total combined weight vs 469 lbs total combined weight

The young duo come down to challenge the Syndicate pair, but they don't have the look of confidence. The match is quite simply a showcase for Tommy Cornell to remind fans - and his opponents - just how damned good he is. He starts the match and doesn't bother tagging out for six minutes. He dominates both Andrews and Fortune, neither of whom really stand a chance. He beats on one, then allows the other to tag in, and beats on the other. It seems obvious that he could end the match at nearly any point he wants. Instead, he tags in Hawkins. The "Prodigy" is clearly intent on impressing his mentor, and he tries to emulate the endless string of offense that Cornell put together. It works for a short bit. Then Hawkins decides not to take an opportunity to tag Cornell in, and ends up getting worked over by some double teams by the Connection. The duo have some decent teamwork, but Cornell comes in and drives Andrews out of the ring with a big series of knees before they can put Hawkins in any real danger. Cornell ignores the referee as he saunters back to this corner and takes his place on the apron, then takes the tag from a contrite looking Hawkins. Cornell is clearly not impressed. "Mr. TCW" puts together a rapid sequence of offense, using his Rough Ride to put Fortune down for the three count.

The Syndicate Win at 9:14 via Pinfall

Sammy Bach, Acid & Karen Killer

Backstage Promo

The stable are on the darkened backstage interview set. There is no sign of Jasmine Saunders. Bach and Acid have their respective titles, while Karen Killer looks quite satisfied. Bach looks... creepy... as he stares down at the floor instead of into the camera.

Sammy Bach: Ring around the rosey... Pockets full of posey... Husha husha... We all fall down...

The newly-crowned TCW International champion finally looks up, his eyes blazing behind smeared makeup.

Sammy Bach: And find ourselves bathed in gold and accolades. I warned you, Taylor. I warned all of you. And now look at this... But if you really think these belts matter, then you understand nothing. Nothing!

The champion pauses, as if calming himself. He looks over at his masked “child”.

Sammy Bach: You see, its not about recognition. Its not about having your name up on the marquee in lights. No, its about doing what must be done. Its about the freedom that comes when you understand The Fall. As all of you will come to understand, if you only open your minds and hearts. Instead, you all choose to remain closed vessels, naked and without purpose in your ignorance.

He pauses again, let that ominous and somewhat nonsensical statement sink in.

Sammy Bach: You will come to understand. All of you. Including you, Taylor. We will force understanding upon you, strong of mind and soul conquering the weak and emotionally emaciated masses. But we will have help. You will meet our new friend soon enough.

This last is said as a warning. Bach leaves it hanging. *Then, as the segments looks to be ending, he adds...

Sammy Bach: And don't call us a stable... We're an un-stable...

Grade: B

Kyle Rhodes: Weirder. Every week, that man gets weirder.

Benny Benson & James Prudence vs The Keith Clan

451 lbs total combined weight vs 470 lbs total combined weight

The Keith clones... err, twins... are led down to the ring by their father. Take away Matthew's little tuft of blond chin fuzz and the two brothers are entirely indistinguishable. Their opponents are the random pairing of Benny Benson and James Prudence. It turns out to be a solid enough tag match, however. The brothers Keith have some decent teamwork, but their greatest assests at the moment are their individual skills and their willingness to cheat. Where as Benson and Prudence have no real teamwork to speak of, but they have a good understanding of the psychology of a tag match, making frequent tags and working to ensure they don't get isolated by the brothers. The match is fairly back and forth, with neither team really able to hold the advantage for too long. The Keith boys individually look more skilled than their opponents, but despite their father Sam barking orders from ringside, the youngsters make some mistakes. When the father hollers at Greg to increase the aggression immediately, he does, whipping Prudence into a corner and following him with a big knee. He drives several more knees into the mdisection of the bleach blond middleweight. Urged on by his father, the young man begins to boot and stomp on Prudence as he slumps into the corner. After being warned by referee Sam Sparrow, Keith continues. When Saprrows tries to push Keith out of the corner, the young man shoves back. Sparrow immediately calls for the bell. The over-aggression of the youngster costs the Keith brothers the match.

Sam Keith, Greg Keith & Matthew Keith

Post-Match Promo

After the match ends, Sam Keith joins his two sons in the ring to argue with referee Sam Sparrow over the decision to disqualify Greg Keith for the shove. "The Living Legend" is quite agitated, and as he hollers at the ref, it seems as though he might actually strike the referee, who has no problem standing up to the trio.

Realizing the arguing won't change the decision, Sam Keith then demands a microphone. He calms his two sons down, with Greg still seeming quite agitated.

Sam Keith: That dumb ref Sparrow being oversensitive not only cost my boys a win. It cost you fans the honor of seeing them notch their first victory in Total Championship Wrestling. Don't worry - they will be plenty of wins for thse two. In fact, its safe to say they will become the youngest TCW World Tag Team champions in history. I know championship pedigree... and it doesn't get any strong than the Keith bloodline.

The fans boo Sam Keith's trademark relentless self-assuredness and haughty conceit.

Sam Keith: I have been told I will be facing Bryan Vessey at Total Mayhem. I still do not believe he is worthy of facing "The Living Legend". But the heavy-handed authoritarian regime that runs TCW seem to feel different. So I will remind them of just how damned good Sam Keith.

The 48-year old then leads his two 20-year old sons out of the ring.

Grade: A

Jason Azaria: It would appear that the sons have yet to learn to properly harness the Keith aggression that is known so well.

Edd Stone, Freddy Huggins, Laura Huggins, Charlie Thatcher & Jasmine Saunders

Backstage Promo

The whole Canadian Animals stable is on the interview set with Jasmine Saunders. Big Charlie Thatcher is simply in the background, but its notable that the manager Laura Huggins separates Edd Stone and Freddy Huggins.

Jasmine Saunders: I'm here with The Canadian Animals. Now I apologize to bring up what might still be a sensitive subject, but Edd, you lost the All-Action championship at Where Angels Fear to Tread. Are you intent on getting that belt back?

Edd just glares at the camera. Laura steps up to the microphone.

Laura Huggins: I'll be answering your questions. And no, “The Bad Boy” is no longer concerned with the All-Action championship. He did as much as he could with that belt. Its time to move on to bigger and better things.

Jasmine Saunders: Those bigger and better things being...?

Laura Huggins: The TCW World Tag Team championships. The Canadian Animals are perhaps the greatest tag team in this business. The very best. And to prove that, Edd and Freddy will not only take the titles from The New Wave. They will keep them for as long as they choose to.

Jasmine Saunders: Well, it has seemed recently that Edd and Freddy haven't been on the same page...

Laura Huggins: Typical propaganda. There are no problems.

Edd Stone: The Animals are family. My only family. When the House of Stone threw me out into the cold, the Huggins took me in. Freddy is more like a brother to me than my actual brothers. Nothing will come between us.

To emphasize this, “The Bad Boy” embraces his teammate. Saunders looks a bit skeptical, then uncomfortable as the embrace lingers. Then Laura Huggins joins. Finally robot-faced Charlie Thatcher wraps his arms around the whole group.

Jasmine Saunders: The Canadian Animals... united.

Brent Hill, John Anderson, Joel Bryant & Robert Oxford vs Rocky Golden, Bryan Vessey, Guide & Scout

959 lbs total combined weight vs 1052 lbs total combined weight

With three regular teams and two primarily singles wrestlers involved, the pre-match takes some time. Finally, all eight men in the ring and things get under way. Its a fun match, though a bit of a mess at times. There is not much in the way of teamwork between the two rival heel teams, which pretty much dooms them to failure. The match highlights the teamwork of Guide and Scout, as they outdo both of the other teams in terms of tandem work and timing. It also highlights Vessey, who gets an entertaining sequence in the middle where goes through quick chain wrestling sequences with each of the four heels one at a team, and none can outdo him. It finishes up with an extent sequence between Brent Hill and Vessey, which the fans love. The TCW World Heavyweight champion is finally tagged in and he does some damage, tossing around the middleweight tag team specialists on the opposite team. The match ends after “The Tank” delivers a huge spine buster to Robert Oxford, pinning the veteran for the win. A predictable outcome, but the match does its job of making the babyfaces foursome look good without really harming the two heel teams.

Joey Minnesota & Jasmine Saunders

Backstage Promo

Jasmine Saunders now has “The Philly Phenom” Joey Minnesota on the backstage interview set. She flashes him a flirty smile before the interview begins. The wrestler is in ring gear, ready for his upcoming match.

Jasmine Saunders: I am joined by someone who needs no introduction, as he is one of the biggest stars in TCW.

Joey Minnesota: Thanks Jasmine.

Jasmine Saunders: You had a war of a match against Wolf Hawkins, but you came up short...

Joey Minnesota: Came up short... That's one way to put it. Hawkins had to use a chair when the referee was out. The kind of win he can really be proud of. The kind of win that probably makes Tommy Cornell proud, too.

Jasmine Saunders: So do you intend to ask for a rematch?

Joey Minnesota: I will face Hawkins anytime and any place. He knows that. But he apparently thinks he deserves a title shot now, so I doubt it. Honestly, Jasmine, I'm just focused on the match ahead of me, the match tonight against the Total Violence Connection...

Minnesota trails off as Troy Tornado storms onto the set.

http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k235/Bigpapa42_2006/Wrestling/TCW/Workers/Small/TroyTornadoSmall.jpg

Troy Tornado

Tornado inserts himself in front of the camera, right in front of Minnesota. He looks irate.

Troy Tornado: Don't deserve it? I don't deserve it? How the hell can the Home Office tell “Hollywood” that he doesn't deserve a title shot. I beat Ino! What the hell, man? What the hell?

Minnesota and Saunders both look surprised and confused. “The Philly Phenom” turns to anger quite quickly.

Joey Minnesota: What the hell, man? You're ruining my promo.

Tornado gives him a dismissive wave.

Troy Tornado: You never have anything worthwhile to say, Minnesota. Just walk away or you'll get hurt?

Joey Minnesota: What did you just say to me?

Minnesota doesn't back down. He stands up to Tornado, who clearly does not like it. “Hollywood” shoves Minnesota, who shoves right back.

Jasmine Saunders: No, guys. No! Not here!

The don't listen. Instead of shoving back, Tornado unleashes a right hand. It catches Minnesota somewhat by surprise, and Tornado follows it up with a knee. It drops Minnesota, and Tornado then jumps atop of him, swinging away. Its not easy to keep Minnesota down, however, and shoves Tornado off, fighting back furiously. Saunders call for security while the pair continue to battle each other.

Grade: A

Kyle Rhodes: A fight in the back... Not typical behavior in Total Championship Wrestling.

Jason Azaria: I cannot imagine the Home Office will be too happy with that scene.

Total Violence Connection vs Freedom Fighters

600 lbs total combined weight vs 540 lbs total combined weight

This match is a pay per view caliber match up and its not even the main event. When the first team emerges, it becomes a bit apparent why. Eddie Peak comes out with Genghis Rahn, but the monstrous vessel of rage known as “The Predator” is not in top shape. His ribs and left should are taped heavily from his big fall through the timekeepers table. He moves slower than normal. When the Freedom Fighters emerge, its Ricky Dale Johnson by himself. When the bell rings, he is still by himself. He actually does quite well, being that Peak is quite limited in the match. Rahn alone isn't really enough to take down the talented RDJ. They do manage to put RDJ in some danger, when Peak delivers a big boot from the apron into the small of Johnson's back, then tags in and delivers some damage to RDJ. Peak grimaces every time he throws a strike, but he battles regardless. RDJ kicks out of a pin, fighting back against the monster... but there is no one one there for the hot tag. “The Lone Star Hero” looks to be in some trouble... and then the crowd roars as Joey Minnesota appears and makes his way down to the ring in a hurry, spurred on by the roaring fans. He hits the ring apron in a single leap, tags himself in, and goes to work on both Rahn and Peak. He cleans up house, until Peak blindsides him with a big forearm shot and a huge suplex. Minnesota isn't in top shape after his brawl in the back with Tornado, either. But Minnesota has enough to keep fighting, and he goes after the obvious target of Peak's ribs. Rahn tags in, and the wild brawler gets overwhelmed by Minnesota and RDJ putting together some decent teamwork. RDJ unleashes his Southern Justice Nadowa choke slam on Rahn, with Minnesota making sure Peak can't make the save on the pin. “The Predator” looks rather upset after his team loses, with Rahn having to hold the injured monster back.

Rocky Golden & Miss Sara

In-Ring Promo

The biggest reaction of the night is for the TCW World Heavyweight champion Rocky Golden and his girlfriend, Miss Sara. The pair slowly make their way down to the ring, interacting with the fans as they go. They climb into the ring and the champion poses with the belt while Sara stands in the center of the ring, grinning and clapping. The champion finally takes a microphone.

Rocky Golden: That's right, still champ.

The fans roar their approval.

Rocky Golden: Rick Law promised a lot of things. And Rick Law lost.

More approval.

Rocky Golden: I don't intend to lose this belt anytime soon. I do intend to keep proving myself, again and again. Against whoever the Home Office puts in front of me. Whether its Hawkins or Tornado. Even if its Joey Minnesota.

Rock hesitates, as if not quite sure what else to add. Smiling demurely, Miss Sara asks for the microphone. She is not demure when she speaks, however. The lovely young lady is forceful.

Miss Sara: Rock is a fighting champion. The kind of champion that Total Championship Wrestling can be proud of. More than that, he's a good man...

She trails off as music interrupts the promo. The Guns n' Roses that announces the entrance of the most hated men in TCW...

http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k235/Bigpapa42_2006/Wrestling/TCW/Workers/Small%20Alt/RickLaw_alt24Small.jpg

Rick Law

Law emerges to a wall of boos. Typically, he only comes out as far as the stage, rather than right down to the ring.

Rick Law: A good man. Is that the measure of what it takes to be a champion now? Truth is, woman, no one really cares about your opinion. You don't matter except as eye candy on Rock's arm. And I have a feeling you'll be finding someone new when I take that belt from Rock.

Rocky Golden: You had your chance...

Rick Law: Shut your damned mouth, Rock. Don't make me come done there and shut it for you. I had a chance. You won that battle. Just barely, but you did. But this is a war. You don't win a war with one battle. The Home Office feels the same as me, as they think we should have a rematch Total Mayhem.

The fans cheer this.

Rocky Golden: I have no problem facing you again. And beating you again.

Rick Law: Like I give a damn what you think. Best get used to the thought of not having that belt anymore, Rock, because this time... I will take it from you. See, Rock, I am smarter than you. Simple as that. You might be a tank, but I'm a scientific wrestler. And I will find a way to beat you.

Rocky Golden: Bring it on!

The two rivals stare at each across the arena, as the fans vocally support them facing each other once again.

Grade: A*

Kyle Rhodes: It would appear we have another match for Total Mayhem set.

Burning Pride vs Samoan Violence Unlimited

543 lbs total combined weight vs 560 lbs total combined weight

The Burning Pride duo of Koshiro Ino and Joshua Taylor come out first, to a fairly strong crowd reaction. When Sara Silver leads out the Samoan pair, they also receive a fairly strong reaction from the fans, though its opposite what Burning Pride receives.

Though the match might seem an odd choice for a main event, it quickly becomes apparent why. The two teams go after each other hard, and put on a very solid display of tag team action. There seems to be genuine dislike involved, which makes sense as all four men spent significant time wrestling in Japan. The match is quite stiff, which the fans seem to love. The action is back and forth, with the Samoans often able to grab the advantage based on more efficient teamwork. The centerpiece of the match is a very stiff exchange between Ino and Bali, beginning with strikes and escalating into suplexes and backdrops. At the quarter hour mark, the match begins to break down. Ino and Bali continue to throw bombs at each other inside the ring, while Umaga and Taylor battle outside. A referee of greater constitution than Eugene Williams might consider a disqualification, but he allows things to continue. Umaga uses the security barrier to ravage Taylor, taking directions from Sara Silver. Ino ends up taking on both Samoans by himself for a time, getting a huge pop when he hits a massive cross body block off the ropes to take down both men. Ino cannot handle both men for long, and the tandem work of the heel duo again comes into play. Taylor makes it back into the ring, and he gets pinned after taking a big Rhino Charge corner spear, despite not being the legal man. The Samoans don't do much in the way of celebrating and a steely-eyed Ino looks about as close to post-match continuations as he ever gets.

Samoan Violence Unlimited Win at 21:12 via Pinfall
