World Tag Team Championship: The Rebellion vs Black Magic

Rebellion aren't dropping this out of the gate

Junior Contenders Circle: Golden Scorpion vs Marihito Masuko

Now that the SJ cup is over, Masuko can go back to chasing SD, while Scorpion plays in the SJ Tag ranks.

Contenders Circle: Tadakuni Toshusai vs Tasuku Iesada

This is Iesada getting some momentum back

Elemental III & Takayuki Onodera vs Black Cobra & The Awesome Kiyaru

Booker jobbing

Tadiyuki Kikkawa & John Pathlow vs Masaaki Okazaki & Mitsunari Fuganaga

Kikkawa is not losing in any match that Fuganaga in it

4-Way 'Tornado' Tag: Little Fury vs Optimum Impact vs Size of the Fight vs Universal Excellence

Any of the four could win, but Optimum Impact have the story going

Hiroaki Nakasawa & Kinnojo Horri vs Masutaro Kataoka & Roku Sotomura

squasharama

4CS: Gareth Wayne vs Mister Macho vs Sensational Dragon vs The Incredible Koyama

one of these things is not like the others

Nisso Yuasha vs Red Panther

as much as you despise the blubber boy, he still is higher on the ladder

Snow Lizzard vs Chuichi Sanda & Toshiki Shibanumo

Token SL win

Merle O'Curle vs Stone Yoshikawa

because Merle probably has no overness there

World Tag Team Championship: The Rebellion vs Black Magic

A draw is certainly possible here, but I can't see the Rebellion dropping the belts so quickly, even against worthy challengers.

Junior Contenders Circle: Golden Scorpion vs Marihito Masuko

I think Masuko is more important in singles action, like D-mack says.

Contenders Circle: Tadakuni Toshusai vs Tasuku Iesada

Torn on this one. Would love to see Toshusai take it, but I'm thinking Iesedais more likely.

Elemental III & Takayuki Onodera vs Black Cobra & The Awesome Kiyaru

Could see this one going either way. Gonna go with Cobra & Kiyaru as its a chance for Cobra to show off his new honorable approach and get a win of importance over E3.

Tadiyuki Kikkawa & John Pathlow vs Masaaki Okazaki & Mitsunari Fuganaga

Can't see Kikkawa & Pathlow dropping this, even with Okazaki on the other side

4-Way 'Tornado' Tag: Little Fury vs Optimum Impact vs Size of the Fight vs Universal Excellence

Like D-mac says, this one could go any which way.

Hiroaki Nakasawa & Kinnojo Horri vs Masutaro Kataoka & Roku Sotomura

Gimme.

4CS: Gareth Wayne vs Mister Macho vs Sensational Dragon vs The Incredible Koyama

SD could take a win here, as could Wayne, dependent on your plans for him. Macho just seems like he is going to have a notable role going forward.

Nisso Yuasha vs Red Panther

Fat guy over gaijin super-j.

Snow Lizzard vs Chuichi Sanda & Toshiki Shibanumo

Merle O'Curle vs Stone Yoshikawa

World Tag Team Championship: The Rebellion vs Black Magic

Rebellion won´t hot shot the titles and definitely not back to ex-champions.

Junior Contenders Circle: Golden Scorpion vs Marihito Masuko

I go with slight upset here.

Contenders Circle: Tadakuni Toshusai vs Tasuku Iesada

I still consider Iesada as better guy.

Elemental III & Takayuki Onodera vs Black Cobra & The Awesome Kiyaru

Cobra´s problems with his team mates continues.

Tadiyuki Kikkawa & John Pathlow vs Masaaki Okazaki & Mitsunari Fuganaga

Kikkawa won´t lose to Fuganaga

4-Way 'Tornado' Tag: Little Fury vs Optimum Impact vs Size of the Fight vs Universal Excellence

More or less a random pick here

Hiroaki Nakasawa & Kinnojo Horri vs Masutaro Kataoka & Roku Sotomura

Squash

4CS: Gareth Wayne vs Mister Macho vs Sensational Dragon vs The Incredible Koyama

Dragon is the biggest name

Nisso Yuasha vs Red Panther

Squash win in order to get Nisso some popularity that he will then pass to someone else

Snow Lizzard vs Chuichi Sanda & Toshiki Shibanumo

RAGE guys need to get a win somewhere

Merle O'Curle vs Stone Yoshikawa

I don´t remember if O´Curle has any overness un Japan but I doubt it so I go with Stone.

Despite most of the crowd seeing this as an opportunity to hit the Ramen stands, the Irish newcomer and the House of Stone graduate put on a good technical contest, with both looking to apply their signature submission move, in the end it was Yoshikawa who was able to avoid the Celtic Wreath and apply the Stone Hold to O'Curle to pick up the victory. </p><p> </p><p>

Snow Lizzard controlled much of the match, as they were able to isolate Toshiki Shibanumo, but Chuichi Sanda was able to make the difference, nailing Kawate with a the EXPLOSION KICK (Running Boot) after Shiraishi was tripped up at ringside and then flung into the guard-rail. </p><p> </p><p>

This opening all Junior Division Tag under Tornado Rules was a fast paced blur from beginning to end, with each team having moments of being on top and looking like they would pull out the win but being denied victory on several occasions. As the match moved into the finishing stretch, every team was becoming more worn down and when Size of the Fight were able to put down VENOM with the Big Fight Ender (Powerbomb/Neckbreaker combo) it looked like they had the match in the bag, only for Universal Excellence to break up the pin....Kansuke Konda was sent out of the ring with a drop-kick from Barei Yasujiro before Kokan was planted with a German Suplex, and Yasujiro followed with the Shooting Star Press, as Universal Excellence pulled out the Universal Studios. </p><p> </p><p>

Yoshii Shiiomi broke up the pin however with a Shiomi Bomb Drop (High Angle Senton Bomb), until Optimum Impact then cleared the ring, that saw American Optimus sneak in a low blow and then drill Haru Kurofuji into the canvas with an O-Bomb (Running Power Bomb). But as he went for the pin Super Joshuya...pulled Optimus off, obviously displeased at the under handed nature of his partners actions. The Optimum Impact pair then engaged in a shoving match, Size of the Fight then rolled back into the ring until and took down Optimum Impact with Leg Lariats, only for them to be taken down with stereo headscissors take-downs from Universal Excellence.</p><p> </p><p>

Little Fury however had the last word taking down Universal Excellence with stereo missile drop-kicks and then nailing Super Joshuya with the ENGAGE THE RAGE (Reverse STO/Enziguri combination) and with Size of the Fight and Universal Excellence both trying to regain their senses, American Optimus was the only one who could make the save, but 'Gaijin Legacy' simply chose not to, as Little Fury picked up what could be considered a mild upset given their form on the preceding tour. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Result: Yoshii Shiomi & VENOM [w] bt American Optimus & Super Joshuya [L] + Hyosuke Kokan & Kansuke Konda + Barei Yasujiro & Haru Kurofuji in 12:02 via pinfall (Engage the Rage)</span></strong></p><p>

<span style="font-family:'Courier New';"><strong>Onodera's Assessment:</strong></span><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"> This was too much of a chaotic spot fest to truly grip the BHOTWG audience and as always with something like this, you either have to go into over-drive with paced action or really give them time to develop a story. Black Cobra's new 'fair fight' philosophy clashed with Yasuhiko Taira on night one of the Combustion Tour and it end up costing the BHB pair victory, how would Cobra get on with Kiyaru at his side this time round?</p><p> </p><p>

This one started fairly low key with some solid chain wrestling exchanges between all four men involved. Elemental III seemed to have a break through when he sent Cobra out of the ring with a spinning headscissors, and lined up for his trademark Elemental Space Flying Drop, only for Kiyaru to nail the 'Third Generation Icon' with a springboard leg lariat. </p><p> </p><p>

Kiyaru then got a two count off the Tilt-A-Whirl Russian Leg-sweep but despite Elemental III kicking out that put the BHB duo fully in control. Cobra and Kiyaru then got some close two counts with genuine teamwork , including a Leg Lariat assisted Dragon Suplex and a headscissors from Kiyaru fed into a Powerbomb from Cobra. But Kiyaru began to grow frustrated at Elemental III's resillience and sneaked in a low blow much to Cobra's dismay and when Kiyaru went to tag Cobra back in 'Canadian Darkness' showed his displeasure by hopping off the apron. </p><p> </p><p>

Kiyaru then decided to go it alone, planting Elemental III with a side slam and then heading up top...where he pulled out the INSTANT WIZARD (Feint Moonsault into a standing Moonsault) but the 'Third Generation' Icon got the knees up on the standing moonsault and it was enough to buy Elemental III a respite and make the tag to Takayuki Onodera.</p><p> </p><p>

Onodera then kept the pressure on Kiyaru with a flurry of fore-arm and elbow shots, before planting the 'Dark Enigma' with the O2 SUPLEX (Bridging German Suplex), which may have lead to the three count, had it not been for Cobra diving in to make the save. 'Canadian Darkness' then nailed Onodera with a drop-kick, before returning to his corner and receiving the legal tag from a groggy Kiyaru. Cobra then snapped off a spinning headscissors that he immediately transitioned into the ALABASTER AGONY (Leg Hook Spinning headscissors arm bar) and Onodera looked to be in real trouble. But the 'Iron Man' dug down and managed to force the rope-break. </p><p> </p><p>

Cobra continued to remain in control however after the rope-break and after planting Onodera onto the mat with a drop-kick, Canadian Darkness headed back up top, but the 'Iron Man' got back to his feet and then after dazing Cobra with a leaping fore-arm smash, brought 'Canadian Darkness' crashing back into the ring with a superplex.....</p><p> </p><p>

Onodera then lined up for the END OF YOU (Roaring Elbow to the Back of the Head) but was tripped up from the apron by Kiyaru and then pulled out to ringside. Kiyaru then began to put the boots to Onodera but did not see Elemental III climbing up the top turbuckle. However Cobra, raced up to the top himself and prevented Elemental III from pulling off a moonsault to the floor....</p><p> </p><p>

Onodera and Kiyaru then brought their battle back into the ring and towards the turbuckle that Cobra and Elemental III were jockying for position on...resulting in a 'tree of doom' that sent everyone sprawling across the ring.....</p><p> </p><p>

Referee Koetsu Shinozaki was struggling to keep a lid on things at this point and the home stretch was frenzied chaos.....</p><p> </p><p>

The Awesome Kiyaru was able to plant Onodera with the KIYARU EFFECT (Forward Somersault Stunner) only for Elemental III to make the save, and then get a close two count off an ELEMENTAL SUPLEX....</p><p> </p><p>

Black Cobra was then able to make the save for his team and get a two count with a STONEPLEX (Bridging Northern Lights Suplex)....looking to finish things Cobra then set up for the DEATH BY COBRA only for a recovered Onodera to nail 'Canadian Darkness' with a roaring elbow.</p><p> </p><p>

Onodera then set up the CALL THE DOCTOR (Inverted Facelock Lifted Scoop Slam Piledriver) but just as he looked set to deliver it Kiyaru re-entered the ring a blew black mist into Onodera's face. </p><p> </p><p>

Cobra however refused to take advantage of the situation, and the Black Heart Brethren pair got into a shoving match, allowing for a still disorientated Onodera to roll up Cobra from behind....</p><p> </p><p>

Cobra kicked out but Onodera get a second bite at the CALL THE DOCTOR , this time driving Cobra into the canvas and before Kiyaru could even think about saving his partner again he was taken down with a drop toe hold from Elemental III and placed in the ANKLE HOLDO. </p><p> </p><p>

With Kiyaru neutralised, Onodera made the cover and got the three count for the Burning Sekigun duo as Cobra's new fair fight philosphy was again failed to gel with another member of the Black Heart Brethren.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Result: Elemental III & Takayuki Onodera [w] bt Black Cobra [L] & The Awesome Kiyaru in 18:12 via pinfall (Call The Doctor)</span></strong></p><p>

<span style="font-family:'Courier New';"><strong>Onodera's Assessment:</strong></span><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"> I'm not sure for how long we can spin out Cobra being at odds with the rest of the BHB, especially with Optimum Impact working a similar (fair fight vs foul fight) angle between themselves but for now it's making for a fresh dynamic in Cobra's matches tagging alongside other BHB members.</span> </p><p> </p><p>

There's a real sense that everyone wants to prove something here with this match-up. Pathlow and Fuganaga start things off and they waist no time in holding back with stiff strikes, both eager to prove their worth. Pathlow gains the advantage with his kicks and strikes landing with a more effective accuracy but Fuganaga, despite being recitent about the Sanda-Okazaki leadership take over off RAGE, seems to have had a fire lit under him and he battles back, even to the point that he gets a two count off a DDT.</p><p> </p><p>

Fuganaga however does appear to be out of gas, after that and tags in Okazaki. 'No Mercy' takes avoids a roundhouse kick from Pathlow, then takes down his former INSPIRE team mate with a double leg-take down, he then turns Pathlow over into a Boston Crab, but then lets go of the hold and invites Kikkawa to come into the ring, but the King of Fighters refuses to take the tag from Pathlow, telling the gaijin Junior to 'prove his worth' much to Okazaki's frustration who clearly wants to go toe to toe with his former leader. </p><p> </p><p>

Okazaki takes out that frustration on Pathlow and an Exploder Suplex followed by an Okazaki Kick Barrage gets a close two count. Okazaki then lined up for a Running Knee but got clobbered with a cheap shot from the apron by Kikkawa and that was enough for Pathlow to recover and nail Okazaki with a high leaping kick to the head, followed by a Bridging German Suplex for a two count.</p><p> </p><p>

Kikkawa now seeing that his INSPIRE cohort was now in control of the match took the opportunity to tag himself back into the match. Kikkawa then preceded to toy with and taunt Okazaki, instead of putting away the man he had forced out of Team INSPIRE quickly and efficiently and that arrogance came back to bite the Team INSPIRE leader as Okazaki countered a Kikkawa Driver attempt into a Crucifix Bomb, before placing the ANGULAR ARM BAR on the King of Fighters.</p><p> </p><p>

However as unendearing to the fans as he his, Kikkawa is as tough as they come when the chips are down and he battled his way back to his feet and with a modified powerbomb forced Okazaki to release the submission hold. Kikkawa then turned Okazaki inside out with a KIKKAWA LARIAT, but was unable to follow up with an immediate cover as he clutched at his arm.</p><p> </p><p>

After both Kikkawa and Okazaki struggled to get back to their feet, it was Okazaki who was able to tag out to his respective partner and Fuganaga was able to take advantage of weakened Kikkawa, taking the King of Fighters down with a basement drop-kick and then following up with a Running Knee Drive for a two count.....</p><p> </p><p>

'Mr Serious' then saw the opportunity to place Kikkawa in the TRIANGLE CHOKE, and still feeling the pain of the ANGULAR ARM BAR from earlier, a huge upset looked to be on the cards as Kikkawa began to fade.....</p><p> </p><p>

But Pathlow wasn't going to let that happen as he dived into the ring and fired off a flurry of stiff kicks to Fuganaga that forced 'Mr Serious' to release the hold. That gave Kikkawa enough of a window to tag Pathlow back in, and 'Rapid Fire' was able to take control with a missile drop-kick, before planting Fuganaga with a bridging German Suplex for a two count. Pathlow then went up top and went for the HEART COMPACTOR (Diving Double Knee Drop) but Fuganaga managed to move out of the way but Pathlow was able to tag Kikkawa back in, before Fuganaga could get the tag out to Okazaki and the the King of Fighters suddenly seemed to step it up a few gears pummeling 'Mr Serious' with a series of clubbing fore-arms before driving Fuganaga into the canvas with the KIKKAWA DRIVER (Wrist Clutch Death Valley Driver) and as Pathlow stood guard, that was enough to ensure that the Team INSPIRE duo would not fall to what would have been seen as an upset victory. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>~Time To Raise~</strong></p><p>

<strong>Match #5: Contenders Circle</strong><strong>:</strong></p><p>

<strong> Tadakuni Toshusai vs Tasuku Iesada</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_TadakuniToshusai_USPW1.jpg</span> <strong>vs </strong><span>http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_TasukuIesada.jpg</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Both of them really need to the win to get them back on track for World Championship contention. To be fair to Toshusai he has never really been in contention and hasn't climbed off the bottom rung of the contenders circle since he forced his way into it, but a win over Iesada would move him closer to that World Title dream. </p><p> </p><p>

Toshusai wanted to push a fast pace from the sound of the bell, but Iesada had no interest in going toe to toe with 'Wild Charisma' and went out for a powder much to Toshusai's immediate frustration. Toshusai then fell victim to his own rashness and went after Iesada, falling into the INSPIRE man's trap and being blindsided with a chop block out of the floor. Iesada then yanked Toshusai's right arm over the top of the guard-rail and then fired off some kicks against the freshly injured body part. </p><p> </p><p>

After breaking up referee Terakado's twenty count, Iesada then rammed Toshusai's arm into the ring post before applying an IESADA SPECIAL (Bridging Cross Arm Breaker), as Terakado's count reached 17....the INSPIRE man rolled back into the ring satisfied he had done enough to ensure that Toshusai woudn't be able to answer the twenty count......</p><p> </p><p>

But despite the agony he was in 'Wild Charisma' managed to haul himself up off the floor and just about beat the twenty count to the instant disappointment of Iesada. But the INSPIRE man kept tge pressure up on Toshusai, stomping away on 'Wild Charisma' and then nailing Toshusai with a running knee strike.....</p><p> </p><p>

But Toshusai kicked out of the following pin attempt and then began to get a second wind, battling back with a series of fore-arm smashes with his good arm.....feeling the momentum shift, Toshusai then blocked a flurry of chops from Iesada, fired back with more fore-arm smashes and then gave his customary double bird signal before nailing a rattled Iesada with a SHOCK KICK (Bicycle Kick).....</p><p> </p><p>

But Toshusai had made the cover too near the ropes and Iesada managed to reach a leg onto the bottom rope to force the rope break.</p><p> </p><p>

Toshusai then dragged Iesada further into the centre of the ring, and then applied a double underhook but he was unable to lift Iesada up as his right arm gave-way and the INSPIRE man immediately took Toshusai down to the mat with an arm-bar take down before instantly transitioning into the IESADA SPECIAL........</p><p> </p><p>

The Super 10 Cup holder wrenched back on the cross armbreaker submission and Toshusai looked to be in real trouble, but once again 'Wild Charisma' showed the incredible fighting spirit he is becoming known for and was able to battle his way to the ring-ropes and force a rope break. </p><p> </p><p>

Iesada then tried to get a cheap shot in before Toshusai could full return to a vertical base afte the rope-break but 'Wild Charisma' was a ready for it, blocking the cheap shot and then reeling off another series of fore-arms with his good arm, and though he had to work harder for the flurry to be efffective, Toshusai's sheer relentlessness ensured that Iesada was now on the back foot....</p><p> </p><p>

Toshusai then whipped Iesada into the ring-ropes and then used the momentum to plant the INSPIRE man with a SPINE SHOCKER !!</p><p> </p><p>

Two.....</p><p> </p><p>

Iesada kicked out, but Toshusai could feel that the momentum was all on his side and he once again lifted up Iesada with the double underhook to set up for either the Shock Treatment backbreaker or Shock Driller (Piledriver) but once again the wear and tear of Iesada's aggressive targetting of Toshusai's right arm once again came into play and Toshusai was unable to lift Iesada up......</p><p> </p><p>

The INSPIRE man slipped out of the double underhook and then rocked Toshusai with a flurry of chops, but Toshusai soaked up the pressure gave a defiant double bird and then looked to rebound with a SHOCK KICK but this time Iesada was able to duck contact and then took Toshusai down with a basement drop-kick.....a running knee strike followed to a kneeling Toshusai before 'Dangerous' once again applied the IESADA SPECIAL !!</p><p> </p><p>

Toshusai tried once again to fight throught the pain but this he began to fade.......</p><p> </p><p>

Terakado raised the arm.....</p><p> </p><p>

No response......</p><p> </p><p>

Toshusai's arm was raised again.....</p><p> </p><p>

Still no response.....</p><p> </p><p>

Terakado gave Toshusai one last chance to show he some fight left, raising the arm up one last time....</p><p> </p><p>

But there was no fight left in 'Wild Charisma' as Terakado called for the bell, as Iesada re-affimed his higher standing within the contenders circle. </p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-family:'Courier New';"><strong>Onodera's Assessment</strong></span><span style="font-family:'Courier New';">: If truth be told these two don't really have styles that mesh well together, but Iesada's experience and Toshusai's ability to draw in a crowd, kept this from completely falling apart on drifting in to a blackhole of dullness. However as much as Toshusai's charisma makes up for his short-coming's as an in-ring performer I am beginning to believe he is not anywhere near ready to be reaching for the main event's until he becomes a little less one dimensional as a wrestler. To be honest I kind of knew that anyway and his appearance in the contenders circle for the past few month was simply there to shake things up a bit.</span> </p><p> </p><p>

Two wrestlers with a point to prove to BHOTWG management....Yuasha is still smarting from his tag partner Kanishoki being forced out of Burning Hammer at the end of the Burn, Don't Freeze Tour...whilst Panther has become something of a forgotten man in the Junior Division spending much of his time in the un-broadcasted world of the Pre-Show. </p><p> </p><p>

The match saw Panther in control of much of the match, as he used his speed and agility to constantly keep Yuasha off balance, resulting in the RED MIST (Dropsault- Superkick sequence) bringing a close two count. Panther then headed up top, but that is where his luck ran out as Yuasha rised back up to prevent the Tumblweed Leg-drop and then send Panther back into the ring the hard-way with a THUNDER DROP (Gorilla Press Powerslam)....</p><p> </p><p>

Panther had the fight to kick out of that but just moments later, fell victim to the QUAKE BOMB (Elevated Power Bomb) and that was enough for the 'Baby Elephant' to get back on the winning track. </p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-family:'Courier New';"><strong>Onodera's Assessment</strong></span><span style="font-family:'Courier New';">: This match was pure time-filler and really what many fans would see as a bathroom/concession break. To be fair to Panther-san and Yuasha-san they did put on a fairly decent big-man vs little man contest. Yuasha-san went over here, is I do think he might still have something to offer in a monster role, I just weren't at all high on him being part of a tag team where his partner was even more immobile than he is. Panther is actually a good super junior but he's in a very competitive division right now and doesn't have that x-factor to make him truly stand out and rise above his current glorified jobber status.</span> </p><p>

This was a real mixed bag of a four corner survival with the Junior Champion Sensational Dragon , the 'reborn' Mister Macho, the Black Heart Brethren's aggressive gaijin newcomer Gareth Wayne and the underdog Super Junior The Incredible Koyama.</p><p> </p><p>

This was typical four corner survival stuff with a feeling out process between everyone at the start, before it broke down after The Incredible Koyama wiped out everyone with a moonsault press to the floor leading to a hectic finishing sequence....</p><p> </p><p>

That finishing sequence saw Koyama crash and burn on an AIR KOYAMA (Shooting Star Press) intended for Gareth Wayne....Mister Macho took advantage of that and drove Koyama into the canvas with the OLD SKOOL PILEDRIVER, but a recovered Gareth Wayne broke up the pin and then planted Macho with his SURE BET (Neckbreaker Slam)....however it's all about timing in these four corner survivals and before the BHB recruit could go for the pin, he was taken by surprise with a SENSATION SHOCK (Diving Front Flip hurricanrana pin) from Sensational Dragon, as the Junior Champion timed it perfectly to pick up the victory. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Match #8: Junior Contenders Circle:</strong></p><p>

The semi main event provided contenders circle action in the Junior Division, as Marihito Masuko looked to get back into title contention whilst Golden Scorpioon would be keen to prove that he continue the good form in singles competion during the BOSJ Cup that took him to the semi-finals.</p><p> </p><p>

The match began with the typical chain wrestling exchange that begins so many Junior Division matches, this resulted in a series of stale mates, until Masuko connected with a drop-kick, the force of which sent Scorpion out to the floor. Masuko then set up for an Arabian Press but missed the intended target as Scorpion moved out of the way, however the 'Painted Wonder' did manage to land on his feet and take Scorpion down with a baseball slide, before crashing down upon Scorpion with a senton splash off the ring apron.....</p><p> </p><p>

Masuko then pitched Scorpion back into the ring getting a cover for a two count.....Masuko then lifted Scorpion up for the Masuko Cradle Shock but he had telegraphed that far too early into the match and Scorpion slipped out and then doubled over the 'Painted Wonder' with a kick to the groin....that set up a Brainbuster for a two count, before Scorpion headed out onto the apron.....</p><p> </p><p>

But just like Scorpion had the Cradle Shock scouted, Masuko was ready for the Golden Shot Leg-Drop and sent Scorpion crasing to the floor in mid flight with a brilliant defensive drop-kick....</p><p> </p><p>

Masuko then took immediate advantage of that momentum, to spring up the turbuckles and then produce a jaw dropping PINK DUST (Double Jump Moonsault) to the floor, however such a high risk move did result in Masuko not only wiping Scorpion out but also himself as both went crashing over the guard-rail and into the crowd......</p><p> </p><p>

With both struggling to get back to their feet referee Koetsu Shinozaki applied a double count.......</p><p> </p><p>

Masuko managed to get in the ring first with the count already at 17, but just as it looked like Scorpion would be counted out he managed to haul himself back into the ring just in time. </p><p> </p><p>

Masuko moved in to keep the pressure on, but Scorpion has used the floor count more wisely, turning out to be the fresher man as suddenly reeled off a combination of strikes and kicks, before taking down Masuko with a spinning leg-sweep...a punt to the head followed and then a BRAINBUSTER !!</p><p> </p><p>

Masuko kicked out, but Scorpion continued to be in control reeling off another flurry of kicks before whipping Masuko into the corner and then pitching the 'Painted Wonder' onto the top turnbuckle.....Scorpion then appeared to be setting up for the ANEURYSM BRAINBUSTER but Masuko fought it off and then drilled the 'Gold and Black Attack' with a missile drop-kick.</p><p> </p><p>

Suddenly feeling another wind of energy engulf him, as the momentum began to shift back his way, Masuko then went out onto the apron and then planted Scorpion with the INTO THE WHITE (Springboard Bulldog).......</p><p> </p><p>

However the momentum saw Masuko flip back onto this feet and as Scorpion turned around he was met with a spinning head-scissors but Scorpion immediatelty rose back to his feet and nailed Masuko with a leaping leg lariat, before doubling over Masuko with a kick to the gut and then drilling the 'Painted Wonder' into the canvas with another BRAINBUSTER !!</p><p> </p><p>

However the 'Painted Wonder' was too worn down to go for an immediate cover and referee Shinozaki applied a double count....</p><p> </p><p>

World Tag Team Championship in the main event as Black Magic were looking to regain the titles they lost to The Rebellion at Inferno of Purity. </p><p> </p><p>

Black Magic waste no time in trying to seize and early advantage when they jump the champin on the entrance ramp....that leads to the mulleted pair dominating The Rebellion with ruthless abandon, as they toss the champions from pillar to post inside and outside of the ring. When things settle down Shimedzu is lying in a heap on the outside and Miyamae is struggling to stand up inside the ring.....</p><p> </p><p>

It's total domination from Black Magic and The Rebellion will have to dig deep to keep the World Tag Team Championship around their waits, and dig deep is what Miyamae does as he kicks out of a pin attempt after a backbreaker drop from Masuno. </p><p> </p><p>

And the brave kick out's for Miyamae continue, as all Shimedzu (having now hauled himself up to the ring apron) can do is look on in frustration and just shout encouragement to his tag team partner. However Miyamae's determination not to go down to a clothesline here and a bodyslam there from Black Magic, results in the champions becoming increasingly frustrated that they haven't been able to put Miyamae away. </p><p> </p><p>

It results in Black Magic taking their eye of the ball for a split second, after they argue with referee Yasuyuki Terakado after a close two count from a vertical suplex from Taira. When they turn around Miyamae nails Taira with a leaping Enziguiri and then a drop-kick before collasping to the mat from sheer exhaustion.....</p><p> </p><p>

The stunned Taira gets the tag in first to Masuno and Miyamae is prevented from making the tag to Shimedzu.....Masuno then hauls Miyamae upon his shoulders into the rack and sets up for the DAY OF RACKENING (Argentine Backbreaker Rack), but Shimedzu manages to slide into the ring, and The Rebellion pull of a drop-kick assisted Crucifix Bomb......</p><p> </p><p>

Thr......</p><p> </p><p>

Masuno kicks out and Shimedzu is immediately sent back to his corner, inadvertantly occupying referee Terakado and allowing for Taira to slide back into the ring, as Black Magic have a double team opportunity at their disposal.......</p><p> </p><p>

The former Tag Team champions set up for the DEVASTATOR (Flapjack/Cutter combo) but Miyamae manages to have enough wits about him to counter with a headscissors/inverted DDT in mid-air......</p><p> </p><p>

Miyamae again tries to shift this worn down body across the ring and get the tag into Shimedzu, but he is cut off again, this time by Taira who then whips 'the Viper' into the corner and then charges across the ring with THE FLATTENER (Running Clothesline into the corner) but Miyamae moves out of the way at the last split second and then dives across to finally getting the hot tag into Shimedzu.......</p><p> </p><p>

'Kamikaze Spirit), nails Taira with a running boot into the corner from the ring apron and then climbs the turnbuckle to take down Masuno with a missile drop-kick......Taira charges back out of the corner, but Shimedzu ducks a clothesline and Taira ends up levelling Masuno........</p><p> </p><p>

Shimedzu then took down Taira with a basement drop-kick and then headed up top again, to come crashing down upon 'the Bulldozer' with a Moonsault......</p><p> </p><p>

One......</p><p> </p><p>

Two.....</p><p> </p><p>

Thr.......</p><p> </p><p>

Taira kicked out, but Shimedzu kept the pressure on firing off a flurry of kicks , before lining up for the LIFE FLASHER (Rebound Running Big Boot) but Masuno was able to trip Shimedzu up from the ring-apron, causing 'Kamikaze Spirit' to stumble into a clothesline from Taira. 'The Bulldozer' then drilled Shimedzu with the TYPHOON SUPLEX (Rotating Vertical Suplex).....</p><p> </p><p>

One.....</p><p> </p><p>

Two.....</p><p> </p><p>

Thr......</p><p> </p><p>

Shimedzu kicked out much to Taira's frustration, who then whipped 'Kamikaze Spirit' into the Black Magic corner and turned things over to Masuno. </p><p> </p><p>

Masuno then blasted Shimedzu with a flurry of fore-arms shots before lifting Shimedzu up for the QUAKE BOMB (Elevated Powerbomb) but 'Kamikaze Spirit' counters into a victory roll.....</p><p> </p><p>

One.....</p><p> </p><p>

Two.....</p><p> </p><p>

Masuno kicks out and then lifts Shimedzu up for a vertical suplex, but that is countered mid-move by Shimedzu into a DDT !!</p><p> </p><p>

Masuno however still manages to get the tag into Taira first, who then flings Shimedzu into the corner and pitches 'Kamikaze Spirit' onto the top turnbuckle and begins to set up for the Wrecking Ball (Muscle Buster) but he fails to spot a recovered Miyamae slide into the ring and nail him with a drop-kick from behind</p><p> </p><p>

That gave Shimedzu enough time to recover and plant Taira into the mat with a diving DDT before locking in the INSURREXION DEVICE (Guillotine Choke)......</p><p> </p><p>

Masuno then came into make the save, but was take down with a basement drop-kick from Miyamae, who then neutralised 'the Hammer' with the the SNAKE POISON (Anaconda Vice)....</p><p> </p><p>

Both of The Rebellion now had their signature submissions synched in on Black Magic right in the middle of the ring....</p><p> </p><p>

Both of Black Magic tried to struggle free, but the champions were steadfast in their application of the submission holds and with Masuno unable to break free of Miyamae....Taira saw no choice but to tap out !!</p><p> </p><p>

Despite being dominated for much of the match, The Rebellion had found a way to take down the larger and more powerful Black Magic and make a succesful first defence of the World Tag Team Championship. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Result: Shimedzu [w] & Miyamae bt Yasuhiko Taira [L] & Yasunobu Masuno in 22:11 via submission (Insurrexion Device)</span></strong></p><p>

<span style="font-family:'Courier New';"><strong>Onodera's Assessment:</strong></span><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"> A very good tag team main event, between two well seasoned teams. Black Magic don't have the slickness of the really great tag teams but are good at what they do and they were made to look good in a losing effort by The Rebellion who were able to put over their power offence with Miyamae-san (the better seller) in the 'Spencer Marks' role for much of the match. The Rebellion don't come out looking like weak champions either, coming across as determined and resourceful, in the face of such a heavy loaded barrage from the challengers.</span> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Post Match Comments:</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#006400;"><strong>Shimedzu:</strong></span><span style="color:#006400;"> Black Magic hit us with their best stuff, and they hit us hard but we showed why we are the World Tag Team Champions, proving resolute in our defence of these belts we hold with immense pride</span>.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#008000;"><strong>Miyamae:</strong></span><span style="color:#008000;"> These belts represent exactly what me and Shimedzu-san are and will continue to be, the best Tag Team in the World.</span> </p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#8B0000;"><strong>Yasuhiko Taira:</strong></span><span style="color:#8B0000;"> We feel damn well cheated out of victory, why ? I'll tell you why, because Miyamae-san should not have been damn well allowed in that ring......</span></p><p> </p><p>

<em>The press guys then say that Masuno came in illegally to break up the pin, and that all Miyamae was doing was stopping that illegal inteference from happening...</em></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>Yasunobu Masuno:</strong></span><span style="color:#FF0000;"> Not the same thing at all, everyone knows that a simple break up of the pin his horses for courses in tag team wrestling, Miyamae put me in a submission hold...not fair, not fair at all.....</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#8B0000;"><strong>Yasuhiko Taira:</strong></span><span style="color:#8B0000;"> Rebellion you say, you make out like you are men of honor, but you are disgrace.....</span></p><p>

<span style="color:#000000;">________________________________________________________</span></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Onodera's Viewpoint:</strong> A solid show, but not a great one and to be honest solid isn't really good enough now that PGHW are back up to National and nipping at our heels as the top promotion in Japan.</p>

Zergon goes into the lead, after getting 9/11 correct on show 2, though it's early days and both Dragonmack and BigPapa42 are still on his tail.

The main event was actually one of the easier matches to call with everyone feeling The Rebellion wouldn't drop their belts in the first defence, both of the Contenders Circles matches were a little harder to call, with votes cast for both of the losing participants in those matches. The Junior Tag 4-way was the one that caught everyone out, with tips foe every team bar Little Fury.

The Onodera/Elemental vs Cobra/Kiyaru tag split the votes, even to the point that I don't even know what Dragonmack tipped, given his booker jobbing comment...anyway no points for him on that match :p

Kikkawa/Pathlow and Nakasawa/Horri tag victories were easy to call given their opposition and most tipped Sensational Dragon and Nisso Yuasha to also earn victories on the main show.

On the pre-show, Snow Lizzard did receive backing to win their tag match, but I felt it was more important for Sanda not to look like a chump on his return to leading RAGE, and Yoshikawa went over O'Curle because as the more savvy amongst the predictors pointed out he simply isn't over enough let to go even go over the jobbers yet on the roster.

Kikkawa and Pathlow teamed up to defeat the RAGE duo of Masaaki Okazaki and Mitsunari Fuganaga on the preceding show, though Kikkawa still feels that Pathlow needs to prove himself more, so 'Rapid Fire' will be fire up to prove to his leader that he does have what it takes by helping his team to victory over two Burning Hammer champions. On the other hand Shimedzu and Sensational Dragon will see this a perfect opportunity to show that the Dragon Feet 2K9 stable is a truly dominant force right now in BHOTWG by sending Kikkawa to defeat. </p><p> </p><p> In the semi main event Tasuku Iesada and Miyamae win in a must win contenders circle match. Iesada has won and lost a contenders circle match on the first two shows of the Combustion Tour, and Miyamae went to a time limit draw with his tag team partner Shimedzu. Whoever loses this match can kiss their chance of challenging for the World Championship this month goodbye, whilst the winner will keep their hopes alive. </p><p> </p><p> The Junior Contenders Circle throws up a three way match between BOSJ Cup finalist Black Cobra, his Black Heart Brethren stable mate The Awesome Kiyaru and Marihito Masuko and with Elemental III's BOSJ Cup win earning him the title shot at Night of the Burning Hammer, the winner of this match will become the next challenger for Sensational Dragon's Junior Championship. Can Cobra or Kiyaru overcome the current tensions with the Black Heart Brethren, cause through Cobra's change in philosphy since the start of the Combustion Tour or can Masuko take advantage of the BHB pair not being on the same page and set up another show-down with his generational nemesis Sensational Dragon?</p><p> </p><p> The up-coming Kanto show also see's the return of the Tochigi Elimination Match, for those who aren't aware of how this unique elimination match works, the best way to describe it is that it could be considered to be a mini 'battle royal' with six wrestlers, two start out in the ring and wrestle for th first two minutes and then each entrant after that comes out a minute after the other. Eliminations can be through pinfall, submission or by throwing their opponent over the top-rope, except for the final elimination which must be a decisive pinfall or submission. Taking part in the match will be former World Tag Team Champions Yasuhiko Taira and Yasunobu Masuno, the new leaders of RAGE Chuichi Sanda and Masaaki Okazaki and the Burning Sekigun duo of Takayuki Onodera and Mister Macho. Whoever emerges victorious will earn the right to challenge for a spot in the Contenders Circle. </p><p> </p><p> Rounding out the main show RAGE's Mitsunari Fuganaga tests himself against the Burning World Champion Hiroaki Nakasawa in a non title encounter, Tadakuni Toshusai takes on the Black Heart Brethren's gaijin recruit Gareth Wayne, there will be Junior Division 4 Way featuring the Optimum Impact pair of American Optimus and Super Joshuya, Red Panther and Stone Yoshikawa and last but not least Universal Excellence (Barei Yasujiro & Haru Kurofuji) team with Mystic Dragon take on the RAGE trio of Toshiki Shibanumo plus Little Fury (VENOM & Yoshii Shiomi)</p><p> </p><p> For those who can get to the Tochigi Sports Stadium early....there will be Junior Division singles action with Junior <p><strong>Tadiyuki Kikkawa & John Pathlow</strong> vs Sensational Dragon & Shimedzu</p><p>

<em>- If Pathlow doesn't 'prove' his worth I'm going to have to wonder about the booker's enbookering. Shimedzu came up short against Kikkawa earlier (I think) and this makes the unmasked monkeyman a legit threat against the Sensational one.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Contenders Circle: <strong>Miyamae</strong> vs Tasuku Iesada</p><p>

<em><em>- Let's give Miyamae a chance at the title AND make Kikkawa angrier with Team RETIRE... Erm... INSPIRE.</em></em></p><p> </p><p>

Junior Contenders Circle: Black Cobra vs <strong>Marihito Masuko</strong> vs The Awesome Kiyaru</p><p>

<em>- An outta the Pink win for the Facepainted Phenom. Plus things continue to slowburn on the Cobra Cumbustion tour.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Tochigi Elimination: Chuichi Sanda vs <strong>Masaaki Okazaki</strong> vs Mister Macho vs Takayuki Onodera vs Yasuhiko Taira vs Yasunobu Masuno</p><p>

<em>- Okazaki proves he's got what it takes to lead the rudderless RAGE. Sanda 'wins' but 'loses' as he becomes second-in-command of RAGE.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<em>- Hmmmm can seaweed by a squash in Japan? Where's my ramen dammit!</em></p><p> </p><p>

<em>- Because I never remember who Toshusai is. And I can almost pronounce Gareth Wayne's name. So I flipped this pick - sorry TK because I only remember Toshusai's Iiiiiiiiiinterrrrrrrrrrrrvieeeeeeeeeeeeews not his name. But he's WAY higher up the card than Wayne.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Mystic Dragon, Barei Yasujiro & Haru Kurofuji vs <strong>Toshiki Shibanumo, Yoshii Shiomi & VENOM </strong></p><p>

<em>- Mini-push for Mini Fury continues and Mystic Dragon starts to pay his dues. PAY 'EM!</em></p><p> </p><p>

Tadiyuki Kikkawa & John Pathlow vs Sensational Dragon & Shimedzu

While I could see this going the other way, I predict Kikkawa pinning SD and eventually a Kikkawa -Shimedzu and Pathlow-SD singles matchup later on tour

Contenders Circle: Miyamae vs Tasuku Iesada

For Iesada to challenge either Nakasawa or Kikkawa, he needs to win here

Junior Contenders Circle: Black Cobra vs Marihito Masuko vs The Awesome Kiyaru

Black Cobra and Kiyaru argue over philosophy again, allowing Masuko to get the win

Tochigi Elimination: Chuichi Sanda vs Masaaki Okazaki vs Mister Macho vs Takayuki Onodera vs Yasuhiko Taira vs Yasunobu Masuno

While one of the mullets could probably take this, I see Okazaki taking it to challenge Kikkawa again.

Non Title: Hiroaki Nakasawa vs Mitsunari Fuganaga

squash, and not the vegetable kind

Gareth Wayne vs Tadakuni Toshusai

TOOO-SHHUUUU-SQUUASSHHHH

Mystic Dragon, Barei Yasujiro & Haru Kurofuji vs Toshiki Shibanumo, Yoshii Shiomi & VENOM

Shiomi and VENOM follow up to strengthen their challenge for the SJ tag titles

American Optimus vs Red Panther vs Stone Yoshikawa vs Super Joshuya

Joshuya is the most experienced, although I could see AO costing him the win to let Stone Yoshikawa sneak a win.

Combustion Tour- Show 3

(Mon 13th September 2010)

Tochigi Sports Stadium , Kanto (9'753- No Vacancy)

Pre-Show

Match A: Golden Scorpion vs White Samurai

White Samurai did get in some token offence in this one, but there was never any doubt who would pick up the win in this one, as Golden Scorpion put away the Junior Division whipping boy away with a Brainbuster in a shade under four minutues.

Result: Golden Scorpion [w] bt White Samurai [L] in 3:43 via pinfall (Brainbuster)

Rating: C

Match B: Size of the Fight (Hyosuke Kokan & Kansuke Konda) vs

Masutaro Kataoka & Roku Sotomura

A more competitive encounter here, as the 'pre-show express' of Kataoka and Sotomura used their size advantage and technical grappling skill to keep Size of the Fight grounded, but the former Junior Tag Team Champions were able to battle their back into their match and in the end their quickness and smoother teamwork came to the fore, resulting in Kataoka falling to the Big Fight Ender (Powerbomb/Neckbreaker combo).

Result: Hysouke Kokan [w] & Kansuke Konda bt Masutaro Kataoka [L] & Roku Sotomura in 8:23 via pinfall (Big Fight Ender)

Rating: C+

The Tochigi Elimination match is basically a mini gauntlet with eliminations through pinfall, submission or over the top-rope, until the match is down to the final two where the match must be won by pinfall or submission.

Chuichi Sanda and Takayuki Onodera were the first two out, with Onodera taking control by taking things to the mat.

The two minute buzzer went and Black Magic's Yasunobu Masuno was next out, breaking up an inside cradle from Onodera on Sanda....Sanda and Masuno then struck up something of a deal to double team Onodera, until Masuno turned on Sanda and levelled the RAGE man with a clothesline.....

However before Masuno could follow up, he was taken down with a chop block from the next entrant Masaaki Okazaki. The RAGE duo then concentrated on working over Masuno, only for a recovered Onodera to nail Sanda with a drop-kick.... Sanda almost went tumbling over the top-rope but just about managed to save himself only for the next entrant Yasuhiko Taira to charge the ring and knock Sanda off with a Lariat !!

Elimination #1: Chuichi Sanda in 5:01 via Over The Top Rope Elimination (Yasuhiko Taira- Lariat)

Black Magic then took control as the whipped both Okazaki and Onodera into opposite corners and followed in with stereo FLATTENERS..... They then both tried to pitch Okazaki and Onodera over he top-rope but both had life left in them and resisted being pitched over......

Help for Onodera then came courteousy of Mister Macho who then helped his Burning Sekigun stable mate to double team Yasuhiko Taira.....Meanwhile over on the opposite side f the ring Okazaki had ingeniously applied the ANGULAR ARM BAR to Masuno whilst perched on the top-rope......Referee Terakado then forced Okazaki to release the hold, but 'No Mercy' was able to follow up with a flying fore-arm smash, but Masuno stood his ground and then nail Okazaki with a MAGIC K.O (Rolling Elbow), but frustratingly for 'the Hammer' he was unable to follow up as Okazaki managed to roll under the bottom rope to prevent elimination.

Masuno then gave chase, but was chop blocked from behind by Okazaki, who then placed Masuno in the CENTURY CRAB LIFT, before rolling back into the ring.....Okazaki then joined the Sekigun pair of Mister Macho and Onodera in trying to get Taira pitched over the top-rope but the big man was proving to be too resistant. Taira then exploded back into life fighting off all three of his assailants with a flurry of lefts and rights.

A recovered Masuno then re-enters the ring and re-engages in battle with Okazaki. On the opposite side of the ring Mister Macho went to nail Taira with a spear, but accidently levelled Onodera instead....the momentum of which sent his Burning Sekigun stable mate over the top-rope and eliminating the Wild Fire man from the match.

Elimination #2:Takayuki Onodera in 10:22 via Over The Top Rope Elimination (Mister Macho- Errant Spear)

Mister Macho then went toe to toe with Taira, just as Okazaki was doing with Masuno on the opposite side of the ring, but the Black Magic pair were beginning to asert their authrority on the match, but each time they would try to pitch either Okazaki or Macho over the top-rope, they would have the resolve to resist being thrown out of the ring.

In fact a curious alliance between the RAGE and former RAGE man began to form as they began to realise that they had to work together to prevent the Black Magic pair from dominatin the match. Able to cause Taira to accidently level Masuno with a clothesline, they then took down Masuno with a high low (chop block/Lariat) combo, before Okazaki turned Taira over into the CENTURY CRAB LIFT (Leglock Cloverleaf).......

With Hamacho occupying Masuno in the corner, Taira was forced to tap out and leave Masuno to battle the curious alliance of Okazaki and Macho by himself......

Elimination #3: Yasuhiko Taira in 14:54 via submission (Okazaki- Century Crab Lift)

Okazaki and Macho, then continued to work over Masuno, until Macho foolishly got caught up in the moment, and with sly encouragement from Okazaki headed up the top turnbuckle to set up for the somewhat mythical Macho Elbow Drop...however the much heard about but little seen Flying Elbow Drop did, not come to pass in the match, as Okazaki turned on Macho shoving he former RAGE leader to the floor....and thus eliminating Macho from the match.

Elimination #4: Mister Macho in 17:28 via Over the Top Rope Elimination (Masaaki Okazaki- Pushed off Top Turnbuckle)

Okazaki then somewhat mocked Mister Macho, by delivering a Flying Elbow Drop of his own, onto the still prone Masuno.....

But 'the Hammer' was playing possum as he kicked out with authority at one and then rose back to his feet to dominate the RAGE man with a flurry of heavy lefts and rights, that put Okazaki on the back foot and perhaps made 'No Mercy' instantly regret his opportunistic elimination of Mister Macho.

Masuno then placed the 'battered' Okazaki upon his shoulders and set up for the DAY OF RACKENING (Argentine Backbreaker Rack) but Okazaki had enough left in the tank to battle out of the submission hold with a series of elbows to Masuno's head before slipping out and then clipping Masuno with a chop block....'the Hammer' stayed on his feet but was then taken down with a basement drop-kick before Okazaki turned over Masuno into the CENTURY CRAB LIFT, in and attempt to eliminate Masuno, the same way he took out his tag team partner Yasuhiko Taira)....

But Masuno was nearer to the ropes than when Okazaki had the hold locked in on Taira and the Hammer managed to battle his way to the apron and get his hand on the bottom rope, to force the rope-break much to Okazaki's immediate frustration....

Okazaki stayed in control, sending Masuno back to his knees again with another chop block before lining up for the OKAZAKI KICK BARRAGE but Masuno held his ground and after catching a front kick from Okazaki, levelled 'No Mercy' with a Lariat.....Masuno then rocked Okazaki with a MAGIC K.O (Rolling Elbow), feeling however that would not be enough 'The Hammer' then lifted Okazaki up with a vertical suplex before bringing the RAGE man crashing back down with the BLAST TEST (Vertical Suplex) Side Slam)

One....

Two....

Three

Yasunobu Masuno had survived the Tochigi Elimination match and had earned himself a chance to challenge for a spot in the Contenders Circle.

Final Elimination: Masaaki Okazaki in 22:44 via pinfall (Masuno- Blast Test).

Result: Yasunobu Masuno [w] bt Chuchi Sanda + Masaaki Okazaki + Mister Macho + Takayuko Onodera + Yasuhiko Taira in a Tochigi Elimination Match.

Rating: B

Onodera's Assessment: These sort of matches are never going to create wrestling classics in the eyes of the purists, but this made for a pretty fun ride with situations cropping up to create some strange bed fellows. Masun-san won, because though Black Magic aren't going to be splitting up, I felt it was time to get them at least partly back into the singles hunt. Taira-san was originally going to win this but then I remembered the fact that himself and Toshusai-san do not click as singles opponents. Okazaki-san came out of the match looking pretty strong without winning it, whilst I admit Sanda-san must have looked weak as a very early elimination but that was partly intentional, as though Sanda-san claims to be the new leader of RAGE, it's really Okazaki-san who will be the one who leads by example, rather than through talk.

Post Match Comments:

Yasunobu Masuno: The Rebellion may have screwed us out of our tag belts, but Black Magic is going to crash the singles party and become dominant once again....

Yasuhiko Taira: That's right, I may have had to sacrifice my own shot right now but I'll assure you I'll be challenging again real soon too, and together with Masuno-san, Black Magic are going to dominate.... Dominate !!

Masaaki Okazaki: I may not have won tonight but I went out there and lead by example, I hope the rest of RAGE can follow my lead and show competitive fire, in fact don't follow my lead...I want us to go out there and win...glorious failure is still failure, I failed tonight...I can't dress it up anyone, I failed...end of.

Chuichi Sanda: You may mock my admittedly pathetic showing tonight, but at the end of the day I got hauled over a tope rope, no one truly beat me, did they now? People may continue to question me as leadership material but I'm in this thing for the long haul and under my guidance RAGE will climb to the top.

Takayuki Onodera: It would have been good, real good to get myself back in contenders circle contention, but it just wasn't to be tonight. Do I blame Macho-san on my elimination, hey accidents happen, don't they.....right?

Mister Macho: OH BROTHER, Booker-Man took the shot and cost the chance at the gold, maybe the Macho-man needs to find his own path and go his own way...OOH YEAHHH !!

Match #2: Gareth Wayne vs Tadakuni Toshusai

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_GarethWayne.jpg?t=1295655891 vs http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_TadakuniToshusai_USPW1.jpg

Gareth Wayne got the jump on Toshusai early in the match, attacking 'Wild Charisma' before the bell had offically run to start a match. However Toshusai proved resillient to the early onslaught and made his customary come-back signalled of course by the double bird signal, and ending with a Spineshocker, that would have resulted in a three count has it not been for Wayne getting his foot on the ropes.

The 'American Bastard' then went for a powder, luring Toshusai out of the ring and nailing 'Wild Charisma' with a Jackpot Jolt. But Toshusai survived the pin attempt from the BHB recruit when pitched back into the ring, and then blocked the Sure Bet before whipping Wayne into the ropes and connecting with SHOCK KICK (Bicycle Kick) which was enough to stun Wayne long enough for the count of three.

Result: Tadakuni Toshusai [w] bt Gareth Wayne [L] in 6:24 via pinfall (Shock Kick)

Rating: C

Onodera's Assessment: Not a squash, but given their respective statures at this point in time, no one really bought into Wayne pulling out the win here, and so thus the usual reaction to Toshusai-san's schtik was some what more muted than it would be against a more respected opponent.

Post Match Comments:

Match #3: Barei Yasujiro, Haru Kurofuji & Mystic Dragon vs

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_Venom-1.jpghttp://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_YoshiiShiomi-1.jpghttp://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_ToshikiShibanumo-1.jpg

Little Fury would be looking to continue their winning ways as they tagged with RAGE stable mate Toshiki Shibanumo, but Universal Excellence and what appears to be a new ally in Mystic Dragon (as this is the the second time MD has teamed with the former WLW pair during the first three shows of the Combustion Tour) would be keen to get back on the winning track themselves having tasted defeat in their first set of matches last week.

What ensued was a Six Man Tag that saw neither side really press home and advantage for too long and the momentum swing back and forth. Several times both sides could have sealed the win and it looked like Little Fury would do just that for the RAGE trio when they combined on an Engage The Rage (Enziguri/Reverse STO combo) on Mystic Dragon).

However Yasujiro was able to make the save and in the end it was Shiomi who ended up tasting defeat courteousy of Universal Excellence's combination finisher the Universal Studios (Bridging German Suplex followed by a Standing Shooting Star Press), pulling it off just as Mystic Dragon put his own body on the line with a slinghsot plancha to the floor that took out VENOM and Shibanumo in the process.

Result: Barei Yasujiro [w], Haru Kurofuji & Mystic Dragon vs VENOM, Yoshii Shiomi [L] & Toshiki Shibanumo

Rating: C+

Onodera's Assessment: Decent enough for what it was, pure card filler featuring a bunch of (mostly) Junior Division mid-carders. Mystic Dragon allying himself with Universal Excellence is going to become something of a permanent thing and there are plans to evolve them into a proper stable with one more added to their ranks in the near future. It's also a sign that whilst Mystic isn't going to be pushed to the moon, he has not been brought up from Hinote to purely be a jobber either.

Match #4: Junior Contenders Circle:

Black Cobra vs Marihito Masuko vs The Awesome Kiyaru

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_DuaneStone_alt1.jpg

vs

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_MarihitoMasuko-1.jpg ______ http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_TheAwesomeKiyaru-1.jpg

The winner of his match will get the next shot at Sensational Dragon's Junior Championship. With having to contend with two Black Heart Brethren members in the same match, Masuko would usually be at a huge disadvantage but Black Cobra hasn't been seeing eye to eye with the rest of the BHB since the start of the Combustion Tour.

Tense opening as all three circle each other, waiting for each of their opponents to make the first move...Kiyaru makes the first strike at Masuko and then Cobra does the same.....

That then leads into a series of double teams from the BHB pair at it seems that for now they are on the same page, though the crowd are a little disappointed to see the BHB press home the numbers advantage, it is all legal stuff and not going against Cobra's new fair fight philosophy.

Kiyaru then gets a close two count off the Tilt-a-Whirl Russian Leg-sweep and curiously Cobra let's Kiyaru go for the cover, despite this not being an elimination match. Cobra then directs Kiyaru up top as he plants Masuko with a snap suplex, before the 'Dark Enigma' comes crashing down upon the painted wonder with a moonsault....

Cobra lets Kiyaru go for glory again, but Masuko is once again able to kick out. Cobra then rolls out of the ring and tells Kiyaru, that Masuko is all his...just what is 'Canadian Darkness' up to here....Kiyaru seems confused by Cobra's actions too and begins to jaw with his stable mate, turning his back to a roll-up by Masuko......

Kiyaru kicks out, but Masuko then manages to plant the Junior Tag Champion with a Reverse STO, before heading out onto the apron but as the 'Painted Wonder' sets up for the Into The White (Springboard Bulldog...Black Cobra sends him crashing onto the apron by sweeping the legs out from underneath.

Cobra then pitches the stunned Masuko back into the ring and offers up the 'Painted Wonder' on a plate once again to Kiyaru, who then plants Masuko with a Falcon Arrow.....

That gets another two count as Masuko kicks out again and Kiyaru paces around in frustration. Black Cobra then came back into the ring, lifted Masuko up and then planted the Burning Sekigun man with a tri-fecta of snap suplexes...before once again inviting Kiyaru to make the cover.....

The confused Kiyaru argues again with Cobra, and seems ill at ease at his stable mates 'un-selfish' attitude towards the match. Kiyaru does eventually go for the cover but his dithering allowed for Masuko to take him by surprise and ensnare the Junior Tag Champion in the PINK DREAM (Straight Jacket Triangle Choke)....

But before Kiyaru gets in any real danger, Cobra breaks up the submission hold and then plants Masuko with another Snap Suplex, Cobra then heads up top and then come's crashing down upon the 'Painted Wonder' with the FROM CANADA WITH LOVE (Swandive Headbutt) but he declines making the cover himself and leaves Masuko for Kiyaru.....

One......

Two....

Thr.......

Masuko kicks out, and Kiyaru beats the mat in frusration. The 'Dark Enigma' then lifts Masuko up to set up for a standing Kiyaru Effect but Masuko manages to block and gets a standing switch, setting up for the Masuko Cradle but that is blocked with a sneaky low blow....and Kiyaru plants Masuko with a standing KIYARU EFFECT (Forward Somersault Stunner) at the second time of asking......

One.....

Two.....

Thr......

This time Cobra breaks up the pin, and a frustrated Kiyaru gets up in Cobra's face....Cobra then signals about the low-blow....Kiyaru's had enough of Cobra 'fair play preaching' and just unloads a flurry of kicks and strikes on his BHB stable mate....

But that fire's up 'Canadian Darkness' who just gives back as good he gets, but Masuko gets back to his feet and nails the BHB pair with a double drop-kick, Masuko then snaps off a pair of head-scissors that send Cobra and Kiyaru out of the ring, before launching himself over the top-rope with a Corkscrew somersault plancha.....

Masuko then pitched Cobra back into the ring and then planted 'Canadian Darkness' with the MASUKO CRADLE (Bridging Leg Hook Belly to Back Suplex).......

One......

Two......

Thr......

Kiyaru came in to make the save, though it was clear his save was purely for selfish reasons as he put the boots to Cobra, before turning his attention back to Masuko, but he was taken down with another spinning head-scissors from Masuko who transitioned into another PINK DREAM.....

But a recovered Cobra made the save once again with a flurry of stiff kicks to Masuko's back......Cobra then delivered a boot to the mid-section and then drove Masuko into the canvas with the DEATH BY COBRA (Double Wrist Clutch Powerbomb), but Cobra again passed up the opportunity of making the cover...and rolled out of the ring......

Cobra stayed at ring-side looking on as both Kiyaru and Masuko staggered back to their feet....Kiyaru was up first and he planted Masuko back down to the canvas with the Tilt-A-Whirl Russian Leg-sweep, however the momentum see's Masuko stumble into referee Omura Umeki......

Kiyaru then waited for Masuko to get back to his feet....and then sprayed Black Mist in the face of the Painted Wonder....before heading up top.....but he was suddenly cut off by Black Cobra who nailed Kiyaru with a leaping drop-kick......Cobra then rolled back out of the ring again, as a recovered Masuko then sent Kiyaru crashing back into the ring with a hurrucanrana......

Kiyaru staggered back up to his feet right into the MASUKO CRADLE SHOCK (Swinging Leg Hook Fireman's Carry Slam)......

One.......

Two......

This time Cobra, obviously displeased by Kiyaru's continued crutch to fall back on 'dirty' tactics did not even attempt to make the save.....

Three

Masuko had earned his way towards another showdown with Sensational Dragon, despite Cobra's attempted help towards getting Kiyaru the title shot, help that Kiyaru perhaps failed to fully appreciate, but even if Cobra was trying to prove a point, why would let an opportunity to challenge for the prize that has eluded him for so long the Burning Junior Championship.

Result: Marihito Masuko [w] bt Black Cobra + The Awesome Kiyaru [L] in 19:54 via pinfall (Masuko Cradle Shock)

Rating: B

Onodera's Assessment: The story being told here did mean that the match didn't quite flow as well as it might of done, if we really let them go off the leash, as it was it was an interesting match with a unique psychology, due to Cobra's curious attitude towards the match but it's not the classic it could be on another day.

Post Match Comments:

Marihito Masuko: The Path has once again destined me to cross the barricade of the Sensational One, a rivarly born in amongst our desire to claim shining gold, the one who rises above all others shall stand a top the mountain, the one who rises above shall be I, the Dragon shall be slain.

The Awesome Kiyaru: I don't know what the hell Cobra-san was up to, but he is going to bring the Black Heart Brethren down unless he gets on the same page as the rest of us, this is a Cobra we can all do without !

At that point Cobra walks in

Black Cobra: Perhaps years of taking the easy path has clouded our judgements Kiyaru-san

The Awesome Kiyaru: Can you please stop spouting nonsense

Black Cobra: Perhaps you should listen with your heart for once, I am trying to show you in the ring tonight, the true meaning of being a team-mate....

The Awesome Kiyaru: The only team mates I trust right now, are everyone else in the BHB accept you!

Black Cobra: I too was blinded by ignorance and I will do everything I can to show the rest of you, the RIGHT way.

Match #5: Non Title:

Hiroaki Nakasawa vs Mitsunari Fuganaga

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/HiroakiNakasawa-1.jpg?t=1268429324 vs http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_MitsunariFugunaga.jpg

Hiroaki Nakasawa looked as though he would have an easy day at the office in this non title encounter but he somewhat underestimated the RAGE man's resolve, as he tried to put Fuganaga away with basic offence, as Mr Serious kicked out of a series of clotheslines and regular suplexes from the World Champion.

After ducking a Lariat from the Nakasawa, Fuganaga clipped the knee out of the Burning Sekigun leader and then followed up with a Running Knee Drive for a two count. Fuganaga then managed to stay in control, as he worked over the neck of the World Champion before synching in the Triangle Choke.

But Nakasawa showed the fighting spirit that has seen him put together a dominant run as World Champion, as he battled his way back up to his feet and then countered into a modified version of the Compression Powerbomb (Scoop Lift Powerbomb) forcing Fuganaga to release the hold.

A flurry of clothesline's then put the World Champion back in control, and though Fuganaga was able to survive the Nakasawa Neckbreaker (Inverted Swinging Neckbreaker) it was clear that Nakasawa had shifted up a few gears and 'Mr Serious' was unable to shift the momentum back his way and an H-Bomb (Crucifix Powerbomb) secured a perhaps slightly tougher than expected victorty for the World Champion.

Result: Hiroaki Nakasawa [w] bt Mitsunari Fuganaga [L] in 10:10 via pinfall (H-Bomb))

Rating: B

Onodera's Assessment: No one would have been buying into Fuganaga-san being able to pull off the upset here, but this was a good competitive squash. Fuganaga-san got to look pretty good in there for a while and look as though he could 'hang' with the best in Burning Hammer, but in the end the champion remains looking strong and dominant.

Post Match Comments:

Hiroaki Nakasawa: I will admit that I underestimated Fuganaga-san out there, I took my eye off the ball and even the best can be felled by arrogance, over-sight and tonight that nearly happened to me. But my mind is on something else right now and it will continue to be, until what I truly want can be made to happen......

Kikkawa-san you still haven't truly answered my challenge....it's time you and I stepped into the ring one on one.....let's make this happen, but let's make it happen over the championship that truly matters the Burning World Championship, not that self serving vanity belt you brought with you from the failure that was INSPIRE. You came back to Burning Hammer to test yourself against the best, and without meaning to sound as arrogant as you, this title the Burning World Championship shows I am the best.

Match #6: Junior 4-Way:

American Optimus vs Red Panther vs

Stone Yoshikawa vs Super Joshuya

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_StoneYoshikawa.jpg ___ http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_SuperJoshuya-1.jpg

This was a typically fast paced multi competitor Junior Division match up, that had very little in a way of a build towards it's hectic conclusion. That finish saw Super Joshuya counter Red Panther's Pantherana into a sit-out powerbomb for a two count, the Nippon Luchadore then headed up top but was cut off by Stone Yoshikawa who sent Joshuya crashing back into the ring with the Danger Trip (Avalanche Snapmare. However before Yoshikawa could make the cover he was doubled over with a kick to the groin by American Optimus before being drilled into the canvas with a Brainbuster and that proved to be just about enough for Gaijin Legacy to pick up the win.

Result: American Optimus [w] bt Red Panther + Stone Yoshikawa [L] + Super Joshuya in 6:39 via pinfall (Brainbuster)

Rating: C+

Onodera's Assessment: This was pure time filler and basically just a chance for some of the lower card talents such as Yoshikawa-san to get a little more exposure in front of the fans. American Optimus picks up the win in somewhat dubious fashion to help forward the growing tension between his win at all costs and Joshuya's more honorable approach.

Post Match Comments:

American Optimus: Joshuya-san, I showed you there tonight that the only thing you need to embrace is winning.

Stone Yoshikawa: Optimus-san, you STOLE victory from me, you know that, is that the way you want to earn you victories, is it?

Super Joshuya: Yoshikawa-san I feel for you, once again my tag team partner, disgraces himself and our team with a loss. I feel it is only fair Optimum Impact give you and a partner of your choice a re-match. Yes tonight was every man for himself, but Optimus-san disappointed me again tonight with his actions.

Match #7: Contenders Circle:

Miyamae vs Tasuku Iesada

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/Miyamae-1.jpg?t=1268429694 vs http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_TasukuIesada.jpg

The loser of this Contenders Circle match can effectively wave goodbye to their chances of earning the next shot at the World Championship, so this as must win to keep either man's title ambitions alive. Iesada wants to prove that he does have what it takes to win championships and not be labelled a big match choker and though Miyamae is once again a Tag champion, he is keen to prove he has what it takes to match his tag team success with equal success in singles competition.

Both approach the early going tentively as they exchange holds on the mat, with neither man really committing to go for anything bigger than a trade of basic wristlocks, leglocks etc. After a while Miyamae becomes the one to seize some form of control as he begins to neuralise Iesada with a series of headlock takedowns.

Iesada manages to squirm out of a headlock on the mat however, and cutting a frustrated figure goes out for a powder. Miyamae calmly waited for Iesada to get back into the ring however and continued where he left off, as he continued to frustrate the INSPIRE man with the simple but effective headlock take-downs.

Miyamae then saw the opportunity to shift into the SNAKE POISON (Anaconda Vice) but Iesada seemed ready for that transition and managed to scramble to the ropes to force rope break. Iesada then used that as an opportunity to get in a cheap shot as he cleverly used referee Omura Umeki as a shield to pull himself back up to his feet.

Iesada then continued to rock Miyamae with a flurry of fore-arms, only for 'the Viper' to fire back with chops and kicks, with spin kick sending Iesada reeling into the corner. Miyamae then came charging in but Iesada used Miyamae's momentum to send the Tag champion crashing to the floor with a simple back body drop over the top-rope.

Iesada then rammed Miyamae against the guard-rail with a flying knee strike to the back off the ring-apron. The 2009 Super Ten Cup Winner, then took control of Miyamae's right arm, wrapping it over the guard-rail before doing further damage with a flurry of stiff kicks.

Iesada then broke up Omura Umeki's floor counter, before turning his attention back to Miyamae, sending The Rebellion man shoulder first into the ring-post and then wrenching the arm round the same post, before pitching Miyamae back into the ring.

Iesada then stomped away on the World Tag Team Champion before going for a quick cover.......

Miyamae kicked out at two, and then tried to rally back, but each time he would go to strike with his right hand...he would pull up in agony and the rally was short lived as Iesada delivered boot into the mid-section and then drilled Miyamae into the canvas with a Hammerlock DDT.

One....

Two....

Thr.....

Miyamae kicked out, but Iesada remained in control and the INSPIRE man looked to be setting up for the IESADA BRIDGE (Bridging Northern Lights Suplex) but Miyamae was able to block and countered with a Reverse STO.....

That stunned Iesada enough for a two count, but more importingly swing the momenum back in Miyamae's favour. Miyamae then reeled off a flurry of strikes and kicks before applying a Full Nelson, setting up for a Dragon Suplex but Iesada managed to fight his way out and then after a series of clubbing blows to the neck of Miyamae, dumped 'the Viper' with a German Suplex......

One....

Two.....

Miyamae sprung right back up and then rocked Iesada with an Enziguri, before planting Iesada with another Reverse STO. 'The Viper' then waited for Iesada to raise to a seated position before nailing the INSPIRE man with a GLITTERING MAGICIAN knee strike.

One....

Iesada kicked out but remained rooted to the mat and Miyamae headed up top. The World Tag Team Champion then went for the REBEL STOMP (Diving Double Stomp) but just as he did, Iesada rose at just the right time and dug a knee into 'the Viper's' mid section.

Iesada then dumped the winded Miyamae with the IESADA BRIDGE (Bridging Northern Lights Suplex).....

One.....

Two.....

Thr.....

Miyamae kicks out, Iesada then dragged Miyamae back up to a vertical base and once again appeared to be setting up for the IESADA BRIDGE, but this time 'the Viper' fight his way out of it and then goes for another Reverse STO but Iesada blocks that and takes over Miyamae with a basic snap suplex.....

Iesada then reels off two snap suplexes, before going for the pin.....

One....

Miyamae manages to get a shoulder up, but immediately after that the IESADA SPECIAL (Bridiging Cross Arm Breaker) is applied.....

But ring positioning his favourable to 'the Viper' and Miyamae manages to fight his way over to the ropes, to force the rope break....

Iesada immediately maintains control with a series of fore-arms and set's up for the IESADA BRIDGE, but he telegraphed that far too much and Miyamae is able to block the attempt before stunning 'the Dangerous One' with a MIYAMAE SPOILER (Swinging Reverse STO)......

Miyamae is unable to immediately go for the cover, as he clutches at his arm but he manages to scramble across and make the cover on Iesada who is still reeling from being planted onto the canvas with the Miyamae Spoiler.....

Iesada manages to kick out and then tries to take Miyamae by surprise with a quick roll-up.....

Miyamae kicks out and then rolls through into one of his own......

Two......

They exchange rolling cradles, until Iesada appears to flip Miyamae into position for the IESADA LOCKDOWN, but Miyamae averts that and then suddenly has Iesada entrapped with the SNAKE POISON (Anaconda Vice).......

Iesada his determined not to tap out though and begins to rise to his feet.....

Miyamae thinks quickly however and takes Iesada over with a Cravate Suplex and smoothly transition's back into the SNAKE POISON.....

Iesada battles his way back to his feet again, but Miyamae is steadfast in his application of his signature submission hold and Iesada drops to the mat again......

With Iesada quickly fading, referee Omura Umeki checks on 'the Dangerous One's condition....

Umeki raises the arm.....

No response.......

Umeki raises Iesada's arm for a second time....

Still no response......

Umeki raises it for a third time.......

All the life has been squeezed out of Iesada, and Umeki immediately calls for the bell. The frustation continues for the INSPIRE No.2, whilst Miyamae keeps his world title hopes alive.

Result: Miyamae [w] bt Tasuku Iesada [L] in 21:24 via submission (Snake Poison)

Rating: B+

Onodera's Assessment: A really enjoyable evenly fought technical contest between two strong wrestlers. Miyamae-san went over here because, I really want to get over the fact that The Rebellion are strong right now in not just tag competion but singles too and that goes for both halves of that team, not just Shimedzu-san. Iesada-san isn't being de-pushed but he's just kind of rotated into the role of being a main event fall-guy right now, which plays into the angle of Kikkawa-san continued frustration with the rest of INSPIRE failing to win the big matches.

Post Match Comments:

Miyamae: I showed tonight, and last week against my brother Shimedzu-san that I AM a contender. I did not battle my way into the contenders circle to make up the numbers, I earned the right to be amongst the elite to earn a shot at the greatest prize in our sport, and I WILL earn my opportunity.

Meanwhile Tasuku Iesada's post match interview is interrupted by Tadiyuki Kikkawa, who has John Pathlow in tow as they head out to wrestle in the main event.

Tadiyuki Kikkwawa: Iesada-san once again you fail when the pressure is on, a real winner, a REAL winner like me can handle the pressure.....

Iesada just shoots a glare at Kikkawa but then decides against coming back with a verbal barb of his own, before burying his head in disappointment to cut a dejected figure.

~Pumping Champion Heart Tag Team Challenge~

Match #8: Tadiyuki Kikkawa & John Pathlow vs

Shimedzu & Sensational Dragon

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/Shimedzu-1.jpg?t=1268429674 & http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_SensationalDragon_jhd21.jpg

With Iesada's failure to stay in the World Title hunt, Pathlow would be keen to not let the INSPIRE side down, and even if Pathlow-san wasn't up to Kikkawa-san's exacting standards, he himself would be determined to avoid defeat. However on the opposite side of the ring was a confident duo from the Dragon Feet 2K9 stable, one half of the World Tag Team Champions and World Title contender in Shimedzu and the Junior Champion Sensational Dragon.

Dragon and Pathlow started out for their teams, Dragon got an early advantage, as he reeled off a series of arm-drags and then went for a quick cover with a small package roll-up, Patlow then began to assert himself with a flurry of strikes and kicks but Dragon was able to scramble back to his corner and get the tag into Shimedzu.

Pathlow decided not to tag out however to Kikkawa, and went toe to toe with Shimedzu as they exchanged strikes. A spin kick from the World Tag Team Champion rocked Pathlow, and 'Kamikaze Spirit' saw the opportunity to go for the Life Flasher, but Kikkawa sneakily kneed Shimedzu in the back, and Pathlow was able to follow up with a leaping knee strike, before following up with a snap suplex....

That got a two count, before Pathlow tagged in Kikkawa, as they isolated Shimedzu in the INSPIRE corner, where they looked to wear down the World Tag Team Champion. A backbreaker followed by a diving knee drop from Pathlow brought a two count, as did a leg lariat assisted vertical suplex and though Shimedzu was bravely hanging on, all Sensational Dragon could do was look on in frustration as the INSPIRE pair kept 'Kamikaze Spirit' in their half of the ring.

However Shimedzu was able to take advantage of a mistimed Springboard roundhouse kick assisted German suplex, as Pathlow accidently nailed Kikkawa instead of the intended target, Shimeduz slipped out of the waistlock Kikkawa had on him and then nailed Pathlow with a spin-kick before following up with a release Dragon Suplex. Shimedzu then slumped to the mat and scrambled across to get the tag into Sensational Dragon.

Kikkawa however had re-grouped and grabbed the ankle of Shimedzu, pulling the World Tag Team Champion back towards the centre of the ring, but Shimedzu then rocked the King of Fighters with an Enziguri, buying him enough time to get the tag into Sensational Dragon who then nailed Kikkawa with a springboard missile drop-kick.

Sensational Dragon then immediately followed that up with a Super-Kick, followed by the DRAGON SLICE (Shiranui)......

One......

Two.....

Thr.....

Kikkawa showed the resolve that has seen him dominate as the King of the Fighters, but Sensational Dragon kept the pressure on rocking Kikkawa with another Superkick and then locking in his muli rotation arm bar the DRAGON'S CROSS on a disorientated Kikkawa....

Kikkawa started to drop down to his knees but John Pathlow was able to break into the ring and with a kick to Sensational Dragon's back causes the Junior Champion to release the hold.... Shimedzu then re-entered the ring, as the match descended into a two on two brawl. The Dragon Feet 2K9 pair appeared to gain the advantage and tried to send their opponents into opposite corners, but that was reversed and Kikkawa followed in with a Lariat on Shimedzu and Pathlow nailed Dragon with the BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA (Running Leaping Side Kick)......

Pathlow then dragged Dragon nearer to the centre of the ring......

One....

Two......

Three !!!

But no amongst the chaos, referee Yasuyuki Terakado still recognised Kikkawa and Dragon as the legal men and the three count was null and void.

After tossing Shimedzu over the top-rope to the floor, Kikkawa joined his equally frustrated tag partner and the INSPIRE duo set up for a double team on Sensational Dragon. Kikkawa delivered a backbreaker and then legally tagged Pathlow into the match, who then climbed up top and came crashing down upon Dragon with the HEART COMPACTOR (Diving Double Knee Drop)........

One.......

Two......

Three.....

Shimedzu broke back into the ring and made the save, before being pitched back out to the floor by Kikkawa. Kikkawa then applied a double arm hold to keep Sensational Dragon in place, as Pathlow then rang the ropes to build up momentum..Kikkawa then released the double arm hold as 'Rapid Fire' then lined up for the APOCALYPSE LARIAT (Rebound Pendulum Lariat) but Dragon managed to duck under and the momentum saw Pathlow nail Kikkawa instead...

Kikkawa managed to stay on his feet but he did not notice Shimedzu perched on the turnbuckle and 'Kamikaze Spirit' pounced with a missile drop-kick. With Kikkawa down the Dragon Feet 2K9 pair then combined on a spin-kick/legsweep combo on John Pathlow, before Sensational Dragon headed up top......

As Shimedzu dragged Pathlow back up to set up for the SKULL DROP, but Kikkawa was able to preven the Dragon Feet 2K9 pair going to the playbook of Shimedzu's regular tag team clubbing Shimedzu from behind and then sending 'Kamikaze Spirit' into the ring ropes causing Sensational Dragon to get rocked on the top turnbuckle......

John Pathlow getting his senses back then took down Shimedzu with a standing drop-kick before neutralising 'Kamikaze Spirit' at ringside, as Kikkawa scooped Sensational Dragon off the top turbuckle and upon his shoulders, but Sensational Dragon had plenty of life left as he fought off the KIKKAWA DRIVER attempt with elbows to the side of Kikkawa's head.......

Kikkawa was forced to release the hold and was then rocked with a super-kick, a baseball slide then took Kikkawa off his feet and Dragon headed up top......suddenly realising that Kikkawa was in trouble, Pathlow tried to dive back into the ring but Shimedzu turned the tables as he held Pathlow back from making the save.....

Kikkawa was back up to his feet however........

But Dragon dived off as he went for the SENSATION SHOCK.....

But the King of Fighters was able to block the attempt and reverse into a Power Bomb......

One.......

Two......

Thr.........

Shimedzu dove back in to make the save. Shimedzu then ducked a BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA attempt from Pathlow, that ended up nailing Kikkawa, as another 'friendly fire' incident beset the INSPIRE pair.

Shimedzu then rocked Pathlow with a spin-kick before planting 'Rapid Fire' onto the mat with the A-KO ARROW (Slingshot Falcon Arrow).....

Sensational Dragon still the legal man then headed up top , befoere he came crashing down upon Pathlow with the DRAGON'S FIRE (Corkscrew 630 Senton)......

One.....

Two.....

Kikkawa tried to get across to make the save, but the King of Fighters was quickly cut off by Shimedzu...

Three !!!

Shimedzu and Sensational Dragon had triumphed, sending the King of Fighters Tadiyuki Kikkawa to a rare defeat, albeit he wasn't the one who ended up looking up at the lights for the three count. It is a victory that put's the seal on a highly succesful show for the Dragon Feet 2K9 faction, following earlier victories for Miyamae and American Optimus. INSPIRE on the other hand appear to be in something of a crisis.

Result: Shimedzu & Sensational Dragon [w] bt Tadiyuki Kikkawa & John Pathlow [L] in 27:48 via pinfall (Dragon's Fire)

Rating: B+

Onodera's Assessment: An excellent main event tag, and though Shimedzu & Dragon were clearly the more unified team throughout, their victory still came as something of a surprise to fans, as even in tag scenarios Kikkawa has been built as near unbeatable. Kikkawa-san showed tonight that he is willing to help put other's over and though this isn't go to win Shimedzu nor Dragon any championships, such a victory has given a further boost to their main event status in the eyes of the fans.

Post Match Comments:

Sensational Dragon: With Shimedzu-san at my side, I was simply unstoppable tonight...

Shimedzu: Unstoppable is what we were, and unstoppable is what Dragon Feet 2K9 will continue to be....Individual greatness is a goal we all yearn for but we are a team too and put together our unquestioned talent and we are an irresistable force.

Sensational Dragon: Oh we are more than irresistable, we are Sensational !!

Meanwhile things are less than happy in the Team INSPIRE camp

Tadiyuki Kikkawa: Pathlow-san, what was that out there , pathetic absolutely pathetic....you and Iesada-san continue to fail me...I'm beginning to wonder if I backed the wrong horses.

Pathlow looks like he wants to say something but like Iesada earlier suddenly thinks better of it.

But you know what back you I did, and Iesada-san is a loyal friend. Perhaps it is all my fault, perhaps I'm not being a good enough leader, perhaps as a leader I am a failure, and because failure is not a word that has ever been used to describe me, I will NOT let you and Iesada-san continue to fail me. Now I could do that by kicking you to the kerb but all that will do is show me as a failure, as a leader, no I will lead you to greatness and if you bail me because the going gets tough....then you will be the failure's, not me!

Overall: B+

Onodera's Viewpoint: It's important to always put on a good show at our home arena, and we managed to do that here.

Zergon continues to lead the Prediction standings, despite not having the best round as nearest challengers Bigpapa42 and Dragonmack fail to take advantage but still stay on Zergon's heels. Best rounds came from Phantom Stranger and Beeker, who may be in contention had they not missed an earlier round.

The main event tag caught everyone out, because everyone was probabl thinking that Kikkawa would pull creative control and refuse to job. He normally does but this time I was pleasantly surprised to see that he was willing to put Shimedzu and Dragon over. Resulting from the match Kikkawa remain at A*, but Shimedzu boosts up from B+ to A!! and Sensational Dragon went from a B to a A. Pathlow who ate the pin in the match didn't get effected because he had the lowest pop in the match anyway at B-.

Iesada and Miyamae as expected split opinion, whilst the Tochigi Elimination saw most people stump for Masaaki Okazaki (and to be fair he did make it to the final 2), with no one backing the actual winner Yasunobu Masuno, though Dragonmack did come close (sort of) by picking Masuno's partner Taira.

Everyone worked out that the Junior contenders 3-way would see Masuko steal that one, due to the problems between Cobra and the rest of the BHB. The RAGE- Universal Excellence +1 Six Man Tag, saw everyone incorrectly stump for the former, though following last weeks win I can understand why everyone went the other way.

Rest of the card was pretty much gimmes, with only the Junior 4-way time filler causing some problems.

I did also kind of screw up on this card by forgetting to book Horri and Elemental III in matches. It didn't affect E3 too much as his moral was very high anyway, but Horri I did have to end up giving him a bonus to stop him from whingeing about being left on a show. I tend to prefer paid holiday, but you can't give them just one show off, it has to be a week, which means in the schedule more than one show. That's something I will do though for a few shows, during the up-coming Tag League.

Man, I stunk up the joint on that round for predictions. Nice to see Shimedzu and Dragon take the win there, as I really didn't expect it.

Curious what your calling the tag league...?

I was pleasantly surprised too by Kikkawa not pulling 'creative' control, I mean if Kikkawa did refuse to 'job' I could have always fallen back on the Kikkawa being unbeatable and with Pathlow almost losing the match on several occassions, but maybe he realised Pathlow could be the fall guy in that match.

As for the name of the Tag League, I haven't come up with anything that exciting; just calling it Ultimate Tag League. It kicks off after the next show with a special Friday opening show and will continue over the four regular shows before Quest of Heart.

BHOTWGPuroresu.com

BHOTWG visit the Sapporo Sports Park in Hokkaido on Wednesday 15th September, as they present the 4th show of their Combustion Tour.

Headlining the show will be a three way elimination Contenders Circle decider between Kinnojo Horri, Shimedzu and Miyamae, with the winner earning the right to challenge for the World Championship. It's a match that on paper should see The Rebellion hold a huge advantage but Kinnojo Horri knows what it takes to earn title shots and his experience could hold him in good stead.

The semi main event will be a special attraction Tag Team match that see's World Champion Hiroaki Nakasawa team with forthcoming Junior Championship challenger Marihito Masuko take on the Black Heart Brethren duo of Black Cobra and Yasuhiko Taira. Last time Cobra and Taira stepped in the ring together they were besieged by communication problems, and it's something that has been a thread throughout the entire tour thus far between Cobra and the rest of the BHB. However no matter how much of a crisis the BHB are in, they should never be counted out and Nakasawa and Masuko will be wary that the BHB could pull it together here and go to any lengths necessary to pick up the victory.

The other half of the Black Magic Tag Team Yasunobu Masuno earned the right to challenge for a spot in the Contenders Circle when he won the Tochigi Elimination match on Monday and he will renew familiarities with a man he has battled many times in Tag competition throughout the Burn, Don't Freeze Tour Tadakuni Toshusai. Can 'Wild Charisma' hold onto his spot in the contenders circle and survive a second spot challenge or will Masuno gain a measure of revenge for his Tag Team partner Yasuhiko Taira, whom Toshusai defeated to earn a spot in the contenders circle.

Post match Mister Macho somewhat cryptically mentioned that he needed to go his own way, and there may be a clue here in the fact that he has chosen to line up with Universal Excellence in a Six Man Tag against the Black Heart Brethren trio of Junior Tag Champions the Black Heart Flying Squadron and Gareth Wayne, rather than line up alongside members of the Burning Sekigun. It is no secret that Mister Macho, used to be regular old Eiji Hamacho and lead his own stable at one time, and maybe he feels once again that he needs to be backed by his own crew, rather than becoming just another defender of the Burning Sekigun.

That match is the first of three Six Man Tag's the other's seeing Team INSPIRE (Kikkawa, Iesada & Pathlow) line up against the RAGE trio of Masaaki Okazaki, Chuichi Sanda & Toshiki Shibanuno, whilst Takayuki Onodera lines up with Size of the Fight to take on another RAGE trio of Mitsunari Fuganaga and Little Fury. It's a chance for RAGE to truly show that they are stable that can compete with the very best in Burning Hammer and with Team INSPIRE's confidence at his lowest ebb right now following Monday's show in Kanto, it may be as good a time as any for Sanda to lead his troops to what would be perceived to be an upset.

Super Joshuya promised Stone Yoshikawa a re-match of sorts when American Optimus stole victory from Yoshikawa in a 4 way match on Monday's show and Optimum Impact will taken on Yoshikawa and the other man involved in that match Red Panther in a tag match.

Rounding out the main show Sensational Dragon takes on Mystic Dragon in non title action and Irish import Merle O'Curle steps into the ring with the man who won the Best of the Super Juniors in June Elemental III.

For those who get to the Sapporo Sports Park early they will see bonus matches featuring The Incredible Koyama taking on Roku Sotomura and Snow Lizzard going up against Nisso Yuasha & Tiger Fuyuki.
