BHOTWG- Stepping into the Inferno

Recommended Posts

TK- Will SDIAM get a proper name at some point? I get the impression he may be someone we should know.

The man under the mask, is a pretty big name in Japan and yes his real identity will be revealed at some point, and it'll probably be some point during this tour....just when that will be, you will have to wait and see...which means at the rate this diary moves at, it could be sometime next year :p

All I will say is expect the 'who is he' angle to move up a few gears post Night of the Burning Hammer and if you've not managed to work out who is behind the mask (feel free to PM me if you think you know who it is) the reveal should bring a pretty big reaction.

This is the real test of SDIAM's true starpower. A win here catapults him to serious relevance in the Junior division

SDIAM is not a Junior Heavyweight, at the moment he's just taking on anyone from the roster...in a series of singles challenge matches. His 'silent loner' type of gimmick, also suggests that he isn't really up for tagging with anyone, though it also has to be said that no one has really approached him yet either to team with them and perhaps he's just waiting for someone to ask him..who knows, all be revealed in time.

O.O.C Note:

Just going to give a heads up that the next show (barring sudden computer problems- which given my luck of late could happen) will be up Sunday. Much of it is written up, but I'm going to be out much of tomorrow- so Sunday's the realistic day of posting to aim for....so see this as a 24-48 hourish last call for predictions.

Combustion Tour # 14

(Wednesday 13th October 2010)

Kunamoto Sports Field , Kyushu ( 4'827 No Vacancy)

Pre-Show

Match A: Roku Sotomura vs Toshiki Shibanumo

There's a good Ramen stand just as you enter the venue and there was no surprise to see plenty of fans lining up to consume the tasty goodness on offer, well certainly more than who were watching this match between two lower carders. It was a solid back and forth match, fought mostly on the mat but lets be honest here no one really cared except perhaps the wrestlers themselves, their personal pride longing for that all too rare win. In the end it was RAGE veteran Shibanumo who was able to do that, after planting Sotomura with a HAMMERPLEX (Bridging Leg Hook Belly to Back Suplex)

Result: Toshiki Shibanumo [w] bt Roku Sotomura [L] in 7:52 via pinfall (Hammerplex)

Rating: C

Match B: Yasuhiko Taira & Gareth Wayne vs Omezo Shikitei & Mystic Dragon

This was pretty much what you would call an extended squash, as the make-shift young lion duo of Omezo Shikitei and Mystic Dragon were simply overmatched by their larger more powerful opponents. It was Wayne who put this one to bed, after planting Mystic Dragon with the SURE BET (Neckbreaker Slam)

Result: Yasuhiko Taira & Gareth Wayne [w] vs Omezo Shikitei & Mystic Dragon [L] in 5:39 via pinfall (Sure Bet)

Rating: C+

Match#1: Tadiyuki Kikkawa, Tasuku Iesada & John Pathlow vs

Tadakuni Toshusai, Hyosuke Kokan & Kansuke Konda

The Team INSPIRE- Sekigun six man tag kicked the show off and once again Kikkawa was making his team mates do all the work. That of course resulted in the Sekigun trio having an advantage, though being made of strong moral fibre they were a bit hesistant to take advantage of the situation placed before them, resulting in Rapid Danger actually controlling the early portion of the match with Hyosuke Kokan almost falling victim to the DANGEROUS LIASONS (Apron Enziguri/Suplex combo)....

However a desire to actually pick up a win took over on the Sekigun side and Rapid Danger were unable to stem the tide from turning. Pathlow was almost pinned for a three count with a BIG FIGHT ENDER (Powerbomb/Neckbreaker combo) whilst Iesada was grateful for a last minute save from Pathlow, after Toshusai spiked him with the SHOCK DRILLER (Double Underhook Piledriver)......

However just as with Monday's six man in Osaka against the RAGE trio, Kikkawa's desire not to lose any match he is involved in suddenly kicked into overdrive....The 'King of Fighters' made a blind tag on an exhausted Iesada, and then cleaned house with a series of Kikkawa Lariats, before scooping Kansuke Konda upon his shoulders and planting the 'Big Fight Player' with a KIKKAWA DRIVER (Wrist Clutch Death Valley Driver) and suddenly in the space of a three count it was all over.

Rapid Danger will once again be feeling a sense of deja-vu with the way the match unfolded.

Result: Tadiyuki Kikkawa [w], Tasuku Iesada & John Pathlow vs Tadakuni Toshusai, Hyosuke Kokan & Kansuke Konda [L] in 14:47 via pinfall (Kikkawa Driver)

Rating: B

Onodera's Assessment: This was pretty much the same INSPIRE Six man, as Monday's, just with different opponents. It's a formula that seems to be working pretty solidly and is integral to the whole 'slow meltdown' of a once dominant stable plot we have going on right now, but admittedly we can't keep milking the same thing, unless the fan's will start feeling like they've been stuck in a endless time loop, watching the same match over and over again.

Post Match Comments:

Once again the press find Team INSPIRE in the middle of an argument.

Tasuku Iesada: What you trying to prove Kikkawa-san?

Tadiyuki Kikkawa: Prove what?

Tasuku Iesada: This whole big saviour act.....

Tadiyuki Kikkawa: We're winning aren't we, that's the main thing...right?

Tasuku Iesada: We're winning by us, and I mean Pathlow-san and I getting our asses handed to us for most of the match, whilst you ride in your big white horse....

Tadiyuki Kikkawa: Do you want a maid outfit to go with that pitiful whining?

Tasuku Iesada: ??!!

Match #2: Marihito Masuko vs Some Dude In A Mask

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_MarihitoMasuko_jhd1.jpg vs http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Alts/Renders/SDITM_jhd.jpg

Thus far the mysterious newcomer Some Dude In A Mask has ripped through the competion with ease, however that competion was admittedly made up of struggling lowercarders (Fuyuki), young lions (Shikitei) and those past their sell by date (Shiraishi)....in former Junior Champion Marihito Masuko he faces perhaps the first real test of his credentials.

Masuko tried to use a hit and run attack to keep SDIAM off balance, but the enigmatic newcomer was able to keep up with the early pace and eventually managed to ground Masuko. But the 'Painted Wonder' shown himself to be able to adapt to exchanging holds on the mat, and it was the former Junior Champion who actually managed to make the breakthrough managing to ensnare SDIAM in the PINK DREAM (Straight Jacket Triangle Choke).....

However SDIAM was able to make it to the ropes, and then seized back the advantage with a release German Suplex, the enigmatic masked man then lined up to nail Masuko with the deadly FRONT KNEE STRIKE but Masuko was able to move out of the way and then nail SDIAM with a leg lariat, before snapping off a head-scissors that sent SDIAM to the floor. Masuko followed up with a PINK DUST (Double Jump Moonsault) to the floor before pitching SDIAM back into the ring and following up with the INTO THE WHITE (Springboard Bulldog)....

That brought a very close two count for the 'Painted Wonder'. Masuko then decided to go up top, but SDIAM managed to return to his feet and catch Masuko in mid flight before planting the 'Painted Wonder' with the PIN POINT SUPLEX (Trapping Suplex).....

That could only get two for the enigmatic masked man, who then tried to apply a choke hold but the former Junior Champion managed to wriggle free and then stun SDIAM with a drop-kick before following up with a headscissors and immediately transitioning into a PINK DREAM.

SDIAM looked to be in real trouble, as Masuko had his signature submission hold locked on in the middle of the ring, but all of a sudden the enigmatic masked man summoned up the strength to rise to his feet and plant Masuko with a powerbomb......

As both staggered up to their feet SDIAM once again lined up for the FRONT KNEE STRIKE......

Masuko managed to block the strike, but the force of it still managed to bowl the 'Painted Wonder' over and somewhat dazed from the impact, Masuko was unable to prevent SDIAM from suddenly locking in the HIGH ANGLE ARM BAR......

Masuko tried to find his way to the ropes, but the agony was too much to bare and he saw no choice but to tap out, and despite giving SDIAM his toughest examination yet, Masuko was the latest scalp for the engimatic newcomer.

Result: Some Dude In A Mask [w] bt Marihito Masuko [L] in 11:37 via pinfall (High Angle Arm Bar)

Rating: B

Onodera's Assessment: SDIAM winning streak continues, but unlike his previous matches this wasn't a squash, so it made for a much better match.

Post Match Comments:

Marihito Masuko: The path I walk has appeared to become one headed with dangers, must I become a dangerous person to overcome these dangers?

Just as with previous shows, the press try to get a word with Some Dude In A Mask, but once again he doesn't look to be in the mood for talking.

Match #3: Mitsunari Fuganaga, Yoshii Shiomi & VENOM vs

This was an evenly contested Six Man Tag between two units looking to raise their profile within BHOTWG. The first half of the match was cagey with neither side really pressing home and advantage, however after things broke down resulting in a spectacular moonsault from the top turnbuckle to the floor by Barei Yasujiro the pace quickened and the second half of the match became a desperate exchange of near-falls with both Little Fury and Universal Excellence particuarly impressing with their signature double teams.

The finish looked as though it would go the way of the RAGE trio, when Little Fury looked to be setting up for the ENGAGE THE RAGE (Enziguri/Reverse STO combo) on Yasujiro, but Mister Macho was able to intervene and cleaned house with a pair of MACHO LARIATS. Haru Kurofuji then came soaring off the top turnbuckle to land the KAMIKAZE HEADBUTT (Long Range Diving Headbutt) on Yoshii Shiomi, as Macho held off Fuganaga from making the save as the Macho-Universe stable carried over their good form from the preceding show.

Result: Mister Macho, Barei Yasujiro & Haru Kurofuji [w] bt Mitsunari Fuganaga, Yoshii Shiomi [L] & VENOM in 14:26 via pinfall (Kamikaze Headbutt).

Rating: C+

Onodera's Assessment: The match was solid, but unfortunately the fans weren't that heavily invested into this, at this moment in time both of these teams are still perceived as the weaker units within BHOTWG. Of course over time we plan to change that perception, but then again not everyone can be strong at the same time, because in the end no one gets to look strong.

Post Match Comments:

Barei Yasujiro: Macho-Univere are going places, you better believe that, Kurofuji-san and I will win those Junior Tag belts and our man the Macho-Man has got himself on track to win the World Championship.

Mister Macho: Ooh yeaahh!!! the Macho-Universe rocket is being strapped to the moon right now, this ride is going to get pretty damn swell.

VENOM: Universal Excellence, you are NOT better than us, we can beat you and if you somehow fluke your way to the championships, will be taking them off you, quicker than you have had time to let your celebrations sink in.

Match #4: Non Title:

The Rebellion (Shimedzu & Miyamae) vs

Snow Lizzard (Sanetomo Shiraishi & Sessue Kawate)

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/Shimedzu-1.jpg?t=1268429674 & http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/Miyamae-1.jpg?t=1268429694

The match may have been non title but Snow Lizzard, came out with plenty of determination, as if they had a point to prove. Now that may sound like stating the obvious, but the way they started the match was the most 'fired up' we had seen them in some time and it caught the World Tag Team Champions off guard.

It literally was all Snow Lizzard in the first half, as Sessue Kawate got a close two count on Miyamae off the Snow FREEZE FRAME (Forward Russian Legsweep), whilst Sanetomo Shiraishi managed to get Shimedzu trapped in the LIZARD CLUTCH (Seated Cobra Clutch)....

But the ageing veterans couldn't quite put The Rebellion away when they had the advantage and through a combination of the World Tag Team Champs sparking into life and Snow Lizzard running out of steam, the tide turned and once that tide hard turned Snow Lizzard weren't going to be able to turn it back. The finish came when Shimedzu nailed Kawate with the LIFE FLASHER (Rebound Running Boot), then Miyamae planted Shiraishi with a Reverse STO before locking on the SNAKE POISON (Anaconda Vice), leaving 'the Lizard' with no choice but to tap out.

Result: Shimedzu & Miyamae [w] bt Sanetomo Shiraishi [L] & Sessue Kawate in 10:02 via submission (Snake Poison)

Rating: B-

Onodera's Assessment: I don't think anyone in the building was ever going to truly buy into Snow Lizzard pulling out the mega upset here, but I think the fans enjoyed them showing a bit fire here. They've never been all that good, but I think their long time association with Burning Hammer has won the Snow Lizzard guys a highly respectful reaction from the fans.

Post Match Comments:

Shimedzu: Will admit it, we were taking the Snow Lizzard guys a little lightly, because well lets face it, they've not been a force at all of late....but tonight they showed they've still got a little left in the tank. We were lucky not to escape embarrassment.

Sanetomo Shiraishi: We gave it our best shot tonight, but our best wasn't good enough....maybe we should just be content with the fact that our best days ARE behind us...

Sessue Kawate: Damn it Shiraishi-san, sounds like you're giving up....I'm not ready to give up, as long as I can still head into that ring, I still believe, that I ....no in fact we, cos we're a team right...

Sanetomo Shiraishi: Right

Sessue Kawate: That we can still head to that ring and win, everytime we step foot inside of one.

Sanetomo Shiraishi: Your determination to still believe is admirable Kawate-san, but the reality of the situation is much more cruel upon us.

This was your typically fast and furious multi competitor Junior Division match, with the usual dives to the floor and rapid succession of nearfalls towards the end of the match. The finish came when K.C Glenn though he was going to score his first win after nailing Stone Yoshikawa with the TUNE UP THE SUNSHINE BAND (Superkick) only for Red Panther to break up the pin with the TUMBEWEED LEGDROP. Panther however was denied victory by American Optimus who after punting Panther's head, planted the 'Feline Phenom' with the O-BOMB (Running Powerbomb) and with everyone else still recovering on the outside that was enough to score the Dragon Feet 2K9 man the victory.

Result: American Optimus [w] bt Kevin Christopher Glenn + Red Panther [L] + Stone Yoshikawa + Super Joshuya + The Incredible Koyama in 10;54 via pinfall (O-Bomb)

Rating; C+

Onodera's Assessment: A match featuring lower end mid-carders and below isn't going to capture the full attention of he fans, so I knew this wouldn't get the biggest reaction but they went out there and put on a solid show. American Optimus as the most over performer out of these lot maintains that position by picking up the win here, and whilst he isn't going to be staying with us beyond his current contract due to certain restraints put in place by Kaneko-san, that contract isn't about to expire just yet and we want to stay on good terms for when he does depart (so I'm not actively looking to 'job him out the door'.

The other option of course would have been to give his former tag partner turned rival Joshuya-san the win here, but I do have my reasons (reasons that will be revealed over time) not to go that way.

Match #6: Hiroaki Nakasawa, Takayuki Onodera & Elemental III vs

Chuichi Sanda, Masaaki Okazaki & Merle O'Curle

The third and final Six Man Tag was a relatively fast paced affair between the Burning Sekigun and RAGE. There was little of a feeling out process, as the Sekigun looked to put this away early when Nakasawa turned Sanda inside out with a Lariat and then Elemental III followed up with the INFERO SPLASH (Corkscrew 450 Splash) but luckily for Sanda Okazaki was on hand to make the save.

Despite the Sekigun making a quick start, RAGE did manage to get back into the match and manage to turn the tide in their favour. Elemental III found himself isolated for a five minute stretch, despite this however he kicked out of Sanda's EXPLOSION KICK II (Spin Kick) and then managed flip out of 'Explosive Tensions' DOUBLE EXPLOSIVE (double team Exploder Suplex) and follow up with a spectacular mid-air drop-kick.

Hiroaki Nakasawa was then tagged in and cleaned house (going close with a NAKASAWA NECKBREAKER on O'Curle), only to find himself triple teamed by the RAGE trio who combined on a modified version of the DOUBLE EXPLOSIVE that saw O'Curle take the place of Sanda, and Sanda adding in a EXPLOSION KICK (Running Boot) for extra impact...despite that Nakasawa managed to kick out and then make the tag to Onodera.

Onodera dumped Okazaki with a release German Suplex, whilst Elemental III drop-kicked Sanda out of the ring and then followed up with the Elemental Space Flying Drop...... However O'Curle nailed Onodera from behind and then planted the 'Iron Man' with the GALWAY PLUNGE (Fireman's Carry Gutbuster).....

Nakasawa however dived in to make the save, drawing protestations from Okazaki and Sanda, but those only served to distract referee Shinozaki from keeping his eyes on the match and Nakasawa took full advantage by pulling O'Curle out to the floor and then throwing the 'Irish Stretching Machine' hard against the barricade. Nakasawa then rolled the dazed O'Curle back into the ring....a recovered Onodera then took full advantage by drilling O'Curle with the CALL THE DOCTOR (Inverted Facelock lifted Scoop Slam Piledriver) to secure the three count, as Nakasawa and Elemental III kept Explosive Tension at bay.

Result: Hiroaki Nakasawa, Takayuki Onodera [w] & Elemental III vs Chuichi Sanda, Masaaki Okazaki & Merle O'Curle [L] in 17:57 via pinfall (Call The Doctor)

Rating: B+

Onodera's Assessment: Not that I'm actively looking to mega-push myself, but it was nice to pick up the pinfall victory here in this match, which was I have to say an enjoyable one to be a part, because the crowd were really into it and I suppose were left wanting a bit more. Nakasawa once again subtly hinted towards moving towards a win at all costs attitude and I think it's something that is really freshening up the somewhat done to death formula the Sekigun had going on with their matches.

Post Match Comments:

Hiroaki Nakasawa: What's to question, we won the match fair and square, look sometimes the situation at hand presents you with an opportunity to take advantage of...it's not like I choked out O'Curle-san with a tag-rope or anything like that is it, is it now?

Elemental III: You know I'm going to be watching the Junior Championship closely tonight, but you know what I doesn't matter who wins, because at Night of the Burning Hammer I believe I will win the Junior Championship...whether it be Dragon-san or Kiyaru-san....I will be ready.

Masaaki Okazaki: We could have won that, and it's a bit aggravating to let such an opportunity slip by.....

Chuichi Sanda: We should have, if it wasn't for.....

Masaaki Okazaki: Let's not use that excuse, if presented with the same situation we would have done the same as Nakasawa-san....lets not take the moral high ground here....we've never been one's for hyprocrisy.

Match #7: BURNING Cobra & Kinnojo Horri vs

Golden Scorpion & Yasunobu Masuno

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_DuaneStone_alt1.jpg & http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_KinnojoHorri_jhd1.jpg

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_GoldenScorpion-1.jpg & http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/YasunobuMasuno-1.jpg?t=1268429402

Cobra and Scorpion picked things up where they left off from their Contenders Circle showdown on Monday....it was the former BHB man who took early control, but just as he looked to be setting up for the Death by Cobra, Masuno managed to clobber Cobra from behind....

That drew instant protestations from Horri, but those only served to distract referee Terakado and the BHB pair were able to get a series of cheap shots in. The next ten minutes, literally became a test of Cobra's willpower, as all Horri could do is look on in frustration as Masuno and Scorpion gradually look to wear Cobra down. Despite being on the receiving end of a Brainbuster from Scorpion and a modified GOLDEN SHOT legdrop, where Scorpion was launched off Masuno's shoulders instead of using the top rope as a slingshot...Cobra managed to hang on in there.

In fact the BHB pair begun to become desperately frustrated that they had failed to put their former stable mate away, and when Masuno set up for the DAY OF RACKENING (Argentine Backbreaker Rack) he had spent too much time pacing about beforehand that Cobra had gained the wearwithall to counter into a crucifix bomb. A burst of energy, resulting in a flurry of drop-kicks from the 'Reformed Hero' earned him another space to get the hot tag into a fired up Kinnojo Horri.

'Mr One Million Per Cent Burning Hammer' did the proverbial house cleaning, resulting in a HORRI SPINEBUSTER (Sitout Spinebuster) on Scorpion, only for Masuno to make the save. Horri then found himself double teamed by the BHB pair (who also managed to sneak in plenty of underhanded cheap shots in typical BHB fashion), despite that just as Cobra did Horri drew upon his fighting spirit on hang on. A desperate and frustrated Masuno then went for the MAGIC K.O but errantly nailed Scorpion instead.....

Despite that Masuno managed to block a BURNING LARIAT attempt from Horri, and then planted 'Mr One Million Per Cent Burning Hammer' with the BLAST TEST (Vertical Suplex) Side Slam....

That looked to have won Masuno the match but just as Terakado's hand was about to slap the mat for three....Cobra managed to make the save with the FROM CANADA WITH LOVE (Swandive Headbutt). Masuno pitched Cobra back out of the ring, but found himself walking right into BURNING LARIAT from Horri.....

Masuno now needed Scorpion to get back into the ring and make the save, but unfortunately for 'the Hammer' Cobra was able to hold his former stable mate back, as the Sekigun pair picked up the win.

Result: BURNING Cobra & Kinnojo Horri [w] bt Yasunobu Masuno [L] & Golden Scorpion in 19:46 via pinfall (Burning Lariat)

Rating: B

Onodera's Assessment: It has to be said that this wasn't the best match any of these four will be involved in, as the BHB 'control' sections unfortunately had a tendency to drag a little and they did take up much of the match. On the plus side the fans support for Cobra-san and Horri-san to battle back and overcome Masuno-san and Scorpion-san's often underhanded attempts to gain victory.

Post Match Comments:

BURNING Cobra: Brethren the death knell is approaching for you, WE will bring you down. I saw the error of my ways, and I did something about, but unfortunately for you, you've seem to have chosen to learn them the hard way.

Kinnojo Horri: For years we have battled the BHB, and for years you have tried to destroy us...but you've failed. The Sekigun are only getting stronger, and the Brethren you are becoming weaker.

Match #8: Junior Championship:

Sensational Dragon vs The Awesome Kiyaru

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_BHOTWGJunior1.jpg

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_SensationalDragon_jhd21.jpg vs http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q236/Tigerkinney/th_TheAwesomeKiyaru-1.jpg

The main event see's title match action, as Sensational Dragon put his Junior Championship on the line against Junior Tag Champion The Awesome Kiyaru.

The match began with a kick and strike exchange, before settling into the typical Junior Division pattern of some back and forth chain wrestling, with both Dragon and Kiyaru trying to sneak an early shock pinfall. Both of course were too alert to go down to something such as that, without truly being worn down. Things began to pick up a notch when Dragon though he had the opening to nail Kiyaru with a Superkick, only for the 'Dark Enigma' to roll out of the way and to the floor... Dragon feeling momentum was on his side went for a slinghshot plancha but Kiyaru was able to move out of the way and Dragon crashed and burned, before Kiyaru then followed up with an Arabian Press.

Kiyaru then got a two count after pitching Dragon back into the ring, and then headed up top, the Junior Champion rose to his feet but was knocked down with a leg lariat, before Kiyaru followed up with his trademark Tilt-A-Whirl Russian Legsweep for a two count.

Kiyaru then went out onto the apron to set up for the ETHEREAL KILLER, but before he could springboard in, Dragon had risen to his feet to knock Kiyaru off the apron with SUPERKICK!

Dragon then waited in the ring, hoping for Kiyaru to be counted out, but the 'Dark Enigma' did manage to get back to his feet, seeing this Dragon made the decision to climb up to the top turbuckle and wipe out Kiyaru with a diving cross body, that sent both of them sprawling into the crowd.

Referee Omura Umeki then applied a double count, but just as Dragon was about to beat the count...Kiyaru low blowed the champion from a kneeling postion and then drilled the Sensational One onto a chair with a DDT.

Kiyaru then rolled into the ring looking for the count-out victory, but then suddenly realised he couldn't win the belt that belt, so went back out to pitch the dazed Dragon back into the ring.....

Kiyaru then tried for a quick pin, but Dragon kicked out, however the BHB man was still in control and he was able to plant the champion with a Falcon Arrow.

That earned a two count for the 'Dark Enigma' who then dragged Dragon into position, Kiyaru then came off the top-rope with a moonsault but Dragon was able to move out of the way, Kiyaru however though he had managed to convert into the INSTANT WIZARD with a standing moonsault but Dragon was able to get the knees up.

Dragon then quickly rolled Kiyaru up...the Dark Enigma managed to kick out but couldn't avoid being nailed with a SUPERKICK from the Sensational One.....

One....

Two.....

Thr......

Kiyaru kicked out, but remained in a dazed state and Dragon began to set up for the DRAGON SLICE (Shiranui), but Kiyaru had it scouted and managed to crotch Dragon on the top turbuckle to prevent Dragon from executing the move. Dragon then dropped to a tree of woe and Kiyaru immediately followed in with a low drop-kick.

With Dragon dropping to the mat, Kiyaru once again headed up top, but before the 'Dark Enigma' could pull off what he had in mind...Dragon was back to his feet, however Kiyaru managed to elbow Dragon back down to the mat, and then came off with a moonsault press.

Dragon however then rolled through, applied a Full Nelson and then planted the Junior Tag Champion with a DRAGON SUPLEX....

One.....

Two......

Thr.......

Kiyaru kicked out, but remained stunned enough to be rooted to the mat and this time Dragon was the one to head up top....but Kiyaru wasn't dazed enough for Dragon to take flight, as the 'Dark Enigma' climbed up and then sent Dragon crashing back into the ring with a hurracanrana....

Kiyaru then tried to plant Dragon with the Tilt-A-Whirl Russian Legsweep. but the Sensational One had that well scouted, blocking the attempt and then countering into a multi rotation head-scissors before applying the DRAGON'S CROSS (Crucifix Arm Bar to a standing opponent).....

'The Dark Enigma however was able to counter by flipping onto his back, pinning Dragon's shoulders to the mat in the process....

Dragon was forced to kick out and at the same time forced to relinquish the submission hold he had placed upon Kiyaru. They then wearily both returned to their feet and then exchanged strikes, Dragon seemed to gain the advantage and once again set up for DRAGON SLICE but Kiyaru was able to block and then counter into a standing KIYARU EFFECT (Forward Somersault Stunner).....

One....

Two.....

Thr....

Dragon managed to kick out at the last split second much to Kiyaru's frustration. The 'Dark Enigma' then paced around for a bit before once again heading up top. Kiyaru then soared off with the MAGIC CLOUD (Imploding 450 Splash) but Dragon was able to move away at the last split second and Kiyaru ending up colliding with the canvas....

The Junior Champ, then tried to take immediate advantage with a La Magistral Cradle....

One.....

Two......

Kiyaru kicked out, but Dragon then went for a superkick, but the 'Dark Enigma' was able to side step the attempt and then nail Dragon with a drop-kick, Kiyaru then connected with a Leg Lariat that sent Dragon to the floor.....

The 'Dark Enigma' then wiped out Dragon with a spectacular moonsault to the floor off the top turnbuckle, before pitching the Junior Champion back into the ring....Kiyaru then planted Dragon with a Falcon Arrow for a two count...before whipping the 'Sensational One' into the corner, and then perching the dazed Junior Champion onto the top-rope....

Kiyaru the climbed up top himself and went for the KIYARU EFFECT......

But Dragon managed to block and then nail the 'Dark Enigma' with a drop-kick to the back of the head....a SUPERKICK followed...and then the DRAGON SLICE (Shiranui)......

One.....

Two.....

Thr.....

Kiyaru showed fighting spirit by kicking out, but then in desperation or perhaps just falling back on bad habits, tried to blow Black Mist towards Dragon, but Dragon managed to duck the mist, and then nail Kiyaru with another SUPERKICK....

One......

Two.....

Thr......

Kiyaru kicked out again, but the Junior Tag champion was running one empty and remained rooted to the mat.....Dragon headed up top and then came crashing down upon the 'Dark Enigma' with the DRAGON'S FIRE (Corkscrew 630 Senton)......

One.....

Two....

Three !!

Sensational Dragon had made another succesful defence of the Junior Championship, as his dominant looks to be heading towards a Night of the Burning Hammer showdown with Elemental III.

Result: Sensational Dragon [w] bt The Awesome Kiyaru [L] in 23:45 via pinfall (Dragon's Fire)

Sensational Dragon makes V10 defence of Burning Junior Championship.

Rating: B+

Onodera's Assessment: This was a fine match between two very skilled Junior Heavyweights, however not many fans bought into Kiyaru-san coming away with the title here, despite his credentials and it did take away a little from the heat of the match.

Post Match Comments:

Sensational Dragon: Once again I prove myself to be the most Sensational wrestler to have ever stepped foot upon this planet...and I will prove it again at Night of the Burning Hammer.

The Awesome Kiyaru: You don't need to tell me that we had a bad night tonight...but this is not over, it will never be over...the Black Heart Brethren will never be over!!

___________________________________________________________

Overall: B

Onodera's Viewpoint: This was a solid show, but I had hopes for this card to deliver a little better. Kaneko-san's not on my back, but to truly seperate ourselves from the competition, we need to be producing great shows, not just good ones. It's like we keep hitting doubles, that land just inside of the park, we need to be hitting them out of the park...because the competion in Japan is pretty strong right now.

Lo-Drew goes to the top of the standings, after being amongst 3 people to score a perfect 8/8 this round. Admittedly this wasn't the hardest card to call, so I feel no need to go into any deep analysis about this one. I did also forget to put the pre-show matches onto the predictions (but felt that this time round, I just would just let them go...had I missed matches on the main card, then I would have amended).

You will also notice, that I have extended the contest to show 18 of the tour, four shows was far too short for a contest, as it gives no one coming in late any chance of winning...to be honest they have a slim chance of winning anyway, but they have more of a chance with six thant with four.

The Onodera Diaries:

Miyamae-san is genuinely going to be taking Shikitei-san under his wing as a protege, it's something that does tie in very nicely with Shikitei-san becoming the newest member of Dragon Feet 2K9. It can be a real help, in this business when relationships portrayed in front of an audience, are in fact genuine, rather than manufactured by creative, such as myself. Of course I initially had the idea to put Shikitei-san with the Dragon Feet boys, but Miyamae-san becoming his mentor for real, just vindicates that creative decision more in my eyes.

Now I don't know if they are pulling everyone's leg or not, but apparently Okazaki-san and Panther-san have been displaying a love of musicals, particularly those of Rodgers and Hammerstein (they keep doing renditions of songs from South Pacific, The King and I and Oklahoma), surely they cannot be serious about this. Still, at least they haven't started creeping it into their post match interviews with the press, unlike Kikkawa-san with the constant mentioning of maid outfits, I wouldn't be surprised if he pipes up to me and suggests that we put together a match involving maid outfits...now I must admit, if that we were a Joshi promotion, that wouldn't be a such a bad idea. ;)

Then again at least it shows the great Kikkawa-san does have a lighter side amongst that steely 'all business' exterior of his. The coldness Kikkawa-san had towards has been thawing quite a bit over the ten months I have been charge of the book here in BHOTWG. It doesn't seem like he is on my back any more, even if he has yet to fully back Kaneko-san's appointment of me. Getting the full thumbs up from Kikkawa-san, would be the strawberry on top of the cake.

We've got a 'home' show up next at the Tochigi Sports Stadium, so that would be the ideal time to get out of the 'slump' we have been in. Not that many would consider a couple of B rated shows a slump, but I know we can deliver to higher standards, and we need to reach those higher standards once again, if we are to continue to stay ahead of the competition. It's time to place the strawberry onto the cake.

BHOTWGPuroresu.com

BHOTWG's Combustion Tour continues as they head to their home arena of the Tochigi Sports Stadium Kanto on Monday 18th October. The main event is a star powered Six Man Tag pitting the biggest guns of the Burning Sekigun (Nakasawa, Horri, Cobra) up against Team INSPIRE (Kikkawa, Iesada, Pathlow). Team INSPIRE have not been on the same page at all during the past month, yet despite this they have kept on winning, but surely they will have to be on the same page to overcome a Sekigun trio made up of three of it's strongest, especially one led by World Champion Hiroaki Nakasawa, and a World Champion who appears to have grown a more ruthless streak as he builds towards his unification showdown with Tadiyuki Kikkawa.

The Junior Tag Team Championship will also be on the line as Universal Excellence (Yasujiro & Kurofuji) get their shot at the belts that have been held by the Black Heart Flying Squadron (Kiyaru & Scorpion) since March. Can the Macho-Universe pair finally get their hands on the belts they have desired to have round their waists, since it became their primary focus in Burning Hammer and in the process end the run of a Junior Division Tag Team that has looked increasingly unstoppable during a dominant reign with the belts.

The other main attraction match on the card is an eight man Elimination tag pitching Dragon Feet 2K9 (Sensational Dragon, The Rebellion and American Optimus) up against a Burning Sekigun quartet consisting of Wild Fire, Elemental III and Marihito Masuko). It's a match up that promises intense fast paced action from beginning to end, just which of these highly skilled squadrons will come on top?

There is also a couple of intriguing openweight Tag Team matches, both of which involve tandems from the RAGE stable up against those from Burning Sekigun. Little Fury (Yoshii Shiomi and VENOM) take on the veteran team of Snow Lizzard (Shiraishi & Kawate), whilst the pairing of Mitsunari Fuganaga and Merle O'Curle go head to head with Size of the Fight (Hyosuke Kokan & Kansuke Konda).

The remainder of the main show card is rounded out with a trio of singles match-ups....the enigmatic Some Dude In A Mask faces his biggest opponent yet int the form of the 170kg plus Behemoth Nisso Yuasha, whilst Dragon Feet 2K9's young lion Omezo Skiktei is faced with the daunting task of taking on the Black Heart Brethren's Yasuhiko Taira. Finally Junior Division newcomer Kevin Christopher Glenn takes on veteran Super Joshuya, in what will be the first of a twenty match trial series for the young lion from the deep south of America. If Glenn wins any match during his trial series he will maintain his spot in BHOTWG, however if he fails to win a match, he will be sent down to Hinote Dojo for an entire year.

The pre-show see's the BHB's Gareth Wayne take on Red Panther, and there is all Junior Division tag team action as The Incredible Koyama team with Stone Yoshikawa to take on Mystic Dragon and White Samurai.

Here is a full rundown of the card for Combustion Tour #15

Nakasawa, Horri & Cobra vs Kikkawa, Iesada & Pathlow

Honestly, this could go either way. Kikkawa getting a win to strengthen his claim of superiority to Nakasawa, or Nakasawa winning due to INSPIRE finally falling apart. In the end, I go with Kikkawa because his vanity will assume that his is the more important title, and that Nakasawa will be chasing him, not the other way around.

Junior Tag Championship: Black Heart Flying Squadron vs Universal Excellence

Standard title defense. UE hasn't put together a strong enough string of wins to be serious contenders right now.

8 Man Survival Elimination: Sensational Dragon, Shimedzu, Miyamae & American Optimus vs Elemental III, Toshusai, Onodera & Masuko

I have to go with the champions here, and AO rides their coattails, although he will be pinned.

Snow Lizzard vs Little Fury

Little Fury are more relevant to their title scene

Size of the Fight vs Fuganaga & O'Curle

Some Dude In A Mask vs Nisso Yuasha

Glenn Trial Series: Kevin Christopher Glenn vs Super Joshuya

SotF and SDIAM are competitive squashes, while Glenn can't lose the initial match of a trial series named for him.

Omezo Shikitei vs Yasuhiko Taira

mentoring wont help against mullet power

Gareth Wayne vs Red Panther

Koyama & Yoshikawa vs Mystic Dragon & Samurai

Nakasawa, Horri & Cobra vs Kikkawa, Iesada & Pathlow

This time the opposition is so tough that Kikkawa´s antics are going to cost INSPIRE this one.

Junior Tag Championship: Black Heart Flying Squadron vs Universal Excellence

Universal Excellence could well be the next tag champs and it would help their stable too but I don´t see it happening yet, so I instead go with BHFS winning by cheating after being in troubles for most of the match.

8 Man Survival Elimination: Sensational Dragon, Shimedzu, Miyamae & American Optimus vs Elemental III, Toshusai, Onodera & Masuko

Shimedzu & Miyamae are the top two guys here so I have to give this one to their team.

Snow Lizzard vs Little Fury

No reason to but Snow Lizard over here.

Size of the Fight vs Fuganaga & O'Curle

Named team over random pairing

Some Dude In A Mask vs Nisso Yuasha

No question in this one.

Glenn Trial Series: Kevin Christopher Glenn vs Super Joshuya

Glenn is still young lion.

Omezo Shikitei vs Yasuhiko Taira

Bigger name

Gareth Wayne vs Red Panther

Could go either way but Wayne is doing slighly more thanks to him being part of a stable.

Koyama & Yoshikawa vs Mystic Dragon & Samurai

Samurai just doesn´t win

Panther used his speed and agility to keep the gaijin 'monster' off balance for much of the match, and he came close to winning after nailing Wayne with the RED MIST (Dropsault, Superkick sequence), but the BHB man managed to weather the storm and after gaining the advantage through nefarious means (a kick to Panther's lower regions), the 'American Bastard' was able to seize control and eventually put Panther away with the NU-VEGAS BOMB (Scoop Lift Powerbomb)</p><p> </p><p>

The slightly more battle hardened Koyama and Yoshikawa were a step ahead of their fellow Junior Division youngsters throughout a match that much of the crowd used as an opportunity to head for the concession stands before the main show kicked off. Victory came by way of a STONEPLEX (Bridging Northern Lights Suplex) from Yoshikawa upon Mystic Dragon after around seven and a half minutes of solid action was enough to secure the win. </p><p> </p><p>

The opening contest was the first in what will be a 20 match trial series for American youngster Kevin Christopher Glenn. The match kicked off with some fluid chain wrestling, with Glenn a step ahead of Joshuya, much to the veteran's frustration. That lead to Joshuya taking a powder but the 'Dixieland Wonderkid' wasn't go to let up an wiped out Joshuya with a slingshot corkscrew splash. </p><p> </p><p>

Back inside the ring and Glenn got a two count with a bridging German Suplex, before heading up top but Joshuya was able to cause Glenn to lose his balance by staggering into the ropes...before bringing the 'Dixieland Wonderkid' crashing back into the ring with teh POSTCARD FROM ACAPULCO (Slingshot hurracanrana), that got a two count for the 'Nippon Luchador'. Joshuya then decided to head for the top rope, but this time Glenn was able to cut him off and brought Joshuya crashing back into the ring with a superplex. Glenn then lined up for the TUNE UP THE SUNSHINE BAND (Superkic) but Joshuya was able to side step out of the way and then take Glenn by surprise with a small package. </p><p> </p><p>

The 'Dixieland Wonderkid' however was able to kick out at two and was then able to plant Joshuya with a Reverse STO before floating over into the DEEP SOUTH DREAM (Front Chancery), only for Joshuya to battle his way to the ropes....Glenn then tried to set up for the LOUISIANA SPIRAL (Twisting Brainbuster) but Joshuya managed to fight his way out of that (resorting to a desperation eye rake of all things- much to the dischord of the BHOTWG fans) and then plant Glenn with the J-DROP (Flip Over DDT), a move that left the 'Dixieland Wonderkid' stunned enough for the 'Nippon Luchador' to pick up a victory and hand Glenn a tough opening loss in his trial series. </p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-family:'Courier New';"><strong>Onodera's Assessment</strong></span><span style="font-family:'Courier New';">: This was solid match, but it struggled to get much of a reaction from the fans, due to the fact that Glenn is a complete unknown and that Joshuya hasn't been booked all that strong since about 2007. Hopefully though this trial series will give Glenn enough exposure (through him putting on good matches) over time to see him build a solid following with the BHOTWG fanbase.</span> </p><p> </p><p>

The first in two tag matches pitting RAGE against lower tier members of the Burning Sekigun, was a relatively short affair. Grizzled veterans Snow Lizzard were able to isolate Yoshii Shiomi early on and were on top for much of the match, but they were unable to put 'Sublime' away and JEWEL CUTTER (Springboard Cutter) from Shiomi upon Shiraishi proved to the turning point. From that point on the ageing Snow Lizzard were unable to keep pace, and Little Fury were able to secure the win via their signature double team ENGAGE THE RAGE (Reverse STO/Enziguri combo) upon Kawate. </p><p> </p><p>

Thus far the engimatic Some Dude In A Mask had been facing opponents around his size or smaller than him, how would the mysterious masked man fare against a much different opponent, the supersized Nisso Yuasha ?</p><p> </p><p>

Yuasha was able to use his size and power, to seize the early advantage and the 'Baby Elephant' was able to get an early two count when he planted SDIAM with the THUNDER DROP (Gorilla Press Powerslam).....</p><p> </p><p>

However the turning point came when Yuasha keen to get the match put away early, ended up colliding with the turnbuckle when SDIAM moved out of the way of an ELEPHANT STAMPEDE (Body Avalanche). The enigmatic masked man then nailed Yuasha with a jumping knee strike, and through the 'Baby Elephant' managed to stay on his feet on that occasion, he was soon brought to his knees and unable to fully return to his feet SDIAM mercilessly nailed the 170 Kg plus Behemoth with the deadly FRONT KNEE STRIKE to continue his unbeaten run. </p><p> </p><p>

'Headlining' the first half of the show was this eight man survival elimination between Dragon Feet 2K9 and a mid-ranking Burning Sekigun squad (if Nakasawa, Horri and Cobra are the top 3 in the Sekigun, the four here make up numbers 4-7). </p><p> </p><p>

The match begun with some even exchanges, but Dragon Feet 2K9 seemed to be edging themselves in front, managing to cut off Elemental III. Eager to impress American Optimus drilled Elemental III with a Brainbuster for a two count and then decided to head up top, before soaring off with the OZONE SKY FLYER (Shooting Star Press) but the 'Third Generation Icon' managed to move out of the way and then get the tag into Tadakuni Toshusai. 'Wild Charisma' then nailed Optimus with the SHOCK KICK (Bicycle Kick), and then got the three count to give the Sekigun quartet the early advantage.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Elimination #1: American Optimus in 5:02 via pinfall (Toshusai- Shock Kick)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dragon Feet 2K9-3, Burning Sekigun- 4</strong></p><p> </p><p>

That advantage was short lived however, as the remaining Dragon Feet 2K9 trio managed to keep Toshusai isolated on their side of the ring....The Rebellion combined on a legsweep/spin kick combo for a two count that a determined Toshusai powered out of, but 'Wild Charisma' was unable to prevent being taken by surprise by the SENSATION SHOCK (Diving Frontflip hurrancanrana pin) from Sensational Dragon and though Toshusai kicked out again, it was a fraction too late for the Wild Fire man to continue on in the match.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Elimination #2: Tadakuni Toshusai in 6:58 via pinfall (Dragon- Sensation Shock)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dragon Feet 2K9-3, Burning Sekigun- 3</strong></p><p> </p><p>

The match then settled down again for a bit until an Elemental III drop-kick sent Shimedzu out of the ring, and he immediately followed up with his trademark Elemental Space Flying Drop, that triggered everyone, deciding to put their bodies on the line with dives to the floor. When referee Umeki had restored some sense of order, it was Miyamae and Onodera who were battling inside of the ring..... a fine exchange of counters ascended to the point where it looked like the 'Iron Man' was about to plant Miyamae with the CALL THE DOCTOR (Inverted Facelock lifted Scoop Slam Piledriver) but the 'Viper' managed to slip out and then counter with the MIYAMAE SPOILER (Swinging Reverse STO)...his stable mates held back from being able to make the save....Onodera's participation had come an end and for the first time in the match Dragon Feet 2K9 held the numbers advantage. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Elimination #3: Takayuki Onodera in 10:18 via pinfall (Miymae- Miyamae Spoiler)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dragon Feet 2K9-3, Burning Sekigun- 2</strong></p><p> </p><p>

But Miyamae had taken his eye off the ball for a brief split second, and that split second proved costly as Marihito Masuko slipped into the ring and then suddenly planted Miyamae with the MASUKO CRADLE SHOCK (Swinging Leg Hook Fireman's Carry Slam)...Miyamae much to Masuko's frustration managed to kick out at two, but the 'Painted Wonder' kept a cool head tagged Elemental in, and the 'Third Generation Icon' was able to prevent Miyamae from tagging out by applying the ANKLE HOLDO, more importingly than that it forced 'the Viper' to tap the mat furiously..as the match once again became an even contest. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Elimination #4: Miyamae in 11:55 via submission (Elemental III- Ankle Holdo)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dragon Feet 2K9- 2, Burning Sekigun- 2 </strong></p><p> </p><p>

With the sides even once again, the match then cagily settled down once more...however it was the former Junior Tag Team Champions 'Your New Heroes' who were truly discovering the magic that brought them to those belts at the end of last year. It had been a while since they had tagged together but they were once again showing why they were and could still be a succesful pairing, if they decide to once again concentrate on that path. What they managed to do is isolate the smaller Sensational Dragon and in the end the Junior Champion was too worn down to be able to fight his way back to his corner and get Shimedzu back into the match.</p><p> </p><p>

After a few close two counts, it was finally a MASUKO CRADLE (Bridging Leg Hook Belly to Back Suplex), immediately followed with an INFERNO SPLASH (Corkscrew 450 Splash) that put the Sensational One away....was Elemental III giving the highly confident Junior Champion a preview of what was to come at Night of the Burning Hammer?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Elimination #5: Sensational Dragon in 17:43 via pinfall (Elemental III- Inferno Splash)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Dragon Feet 2K9-1, Burning Sekigun-2</strong></p><p> </p><p>

It all seemed to be there for 'Your New Heroes' taking but the teamwork that they had rediscoverd all of a sudden deserted them. It turned out that Masuko was in fact none too happy about Elemental III, 'stealing the glory'...instead of turning their attention towards Shimedzu the pair argued, only to be nailed with a pair of LIFE FLASHERS (Rebound Running Boots) from 'Kamikaze Spirit'.....Shimedzu then planted Masuko with the A-KO Arrow (Slingshot Falcon Arrow) for three..as the match came down to a one vs one showdown.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Elimination #6:Marihito Masuko in 18:25 via pinfall (Shimedzu- A-Ko Arrow)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Shimedzu then immediately set up for the Skull-Drop on the still dazed Elemental III, but the 'Third Generation Icon' got a burst of fighting spirit and battled his way out before putting Shimedzu on the back foot with the Tri-Fecta Kick series....Elemental III thought he had Shimedzu dazed enough to set up for the EARTH BREAKER (Double Underhook Powerbomb) but Shimedzu stood his ground and then sent Elemental III over with a back body drop only for the 'Third Generation Icon' to land on his feet and nail Shimedzu with a drop-kick before following up with the ELEMENTAL SUPLEX.....</p><p> </p><p>

Shimedzu managed to kick out at two, but remained rooted to the mat and Elemental III headed up top...but 'Kamikaze Spirit' managed to return to his feet and cut Elemental III off, the pair then battled on the top-rope before Shimedzu finally managed to seize the advantage and sent the current Best of the Super Juniors crashing back into the ring with a superplex.....</p><p> </p><p>

Elemental III managed to kick out of that, but Shimedzu immediately manage to transition into the INSURREXION DEVICE (Guillotine Choke), Elemental III tried with every ounce of fighting spirit he had left to make it across to the ropes, but Shimedzu was relentless in the application of his signature submission hold and in the end referee Umeki saw no other choice but to call for the bell. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Final Elimination: Elemental III in 22:25 via submission (Shimedzu- Insurrexion Device)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

It was a match that had swung back and forth throughout, but in the end one has to wonder if it could had turned out so much different, if Masuko had not suddenly been overcome by a flash of jealousy. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="color:#FF0000;">Result: Shimedzu [w], Miyamae, Sensational Dragon & American Optimus bt Tadakuni Toshusai, Takayuki Onodera, Elemental III & Marihito Masuko in a survival elimination in 22:25. </span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

This was the second of two tag matches between tandems from RAGE and the Sekigun. The Sekigun pair who had a slight size advantage on their opponents managed to take control of the match from the early going, as they kept their more high flying opponents grounded. But several attempts by both O'Curle and Fuganaga to lock in their signature submission (Celtic Wreath, Triangle Choke) were thwarted and the former two time Junior Tag Champions managed to battle their way back into their match. Once SOTF had seized control, they were able to showcase their superior team work and after just under nine minutes of action, put this one away with the BIG FIGHT ENDER (Powerbomb/Neckbreaker) combo upon O'Curle. </p><p> </p><p>

Dragon Feet 2K9's young lion Omezo Shikitei simply had no answer in being able to contain the size and power of the former World Champion. Though Shikitei bravely (or foolishy- depending on your point of view) kicked out of a few early pin attempts....Taira never looked like relinquishing control of the match and 'the Bulldozer' put his inexperienced opponent away in under five minutes with the WRECKING BALL (Muscle Buster).</p><p>

With a pretty low key card preceding it, the semi main event of the Black Heart Flying Squadron putting their belts on the line against Universal Excellence, had something of an added pressure to deliver a top drawer match. Perhaps though with such a relatively uneventful show thus far (especially for a 'home show') the crowd were perhaps a little more in belief that the belts could actually change hands here.</p><p> </p><p>

The challengers Universal Excellence were fired up and keen to hit the ground running, and they gained an early advantage by sending the champions out of the ring with a pair of drop-kicks and immediately followed with dives to the floor. Yasujiro then pitched Kiyaru into the ring, and immediately hosted the 'Dark Enigma' upon his shoulder but Kiyaru managed to slip off and with referee Terakado's attention suddenly divered by a kendo stick wielding Golden Scorpion, Yasujiro was suddenly met with a faceful of Black Mist. Kiyaru quickly rolled up Yasujiro, as Terakado's attention returned to the in-ring action.....</p><p> </p><p>

Yasujiro despite being disorientated managed to kick out, but with Scorpion getting in a few more cheap shots with the Kendo Stick and then drilling Kurofuji with a Brainbuster on the floor...the 'Mighty Mouse' would be unable to slip out of trouble......</p><p> </p><p>

Terakado restored some form of order, but that order was only in favour of the champions, who taunted and worked over Yasujiro in their corner....at this point the 'evil' duo were feeling confident of the victory, a matter of when, rather than if it will come, once they were done toying with Yasujiro....who was bravely trying to fight his way out of the corner but was also still trying to shake off the effects of Kiyaru's disorientating Black Mist.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

However Yasujiro manages to catch some breathing space when he managed to get his knees up to prevent Kiyaru from landing the ETHEREAL KILLER (Springboard Shooting Star Press), the 'Mighty Mouse' then looked to scramble across to make the tag but was soon cut off by Golden Scorpion. Scorpion whipped Yasujro back into the corner and then placed the 'Mighty Mouse' on the top turnbuckle, but with one last desperate bit of energy Yasujro leapt off and took both of the defending champions out with a flying cross body....</p><p> </p><p>

Finally Yasujiro could get the tag into Kurofuji...who reeled off a flurry of suplexes and drop-kicks...before planting Kiyaru with the TOHOKU THUNDER SUPLEX (Rolling Release Suplex)........</p><p> </p><p>

Scorpion dived across at the last split second to make a desperation save, only for Kurofuji to drop-kick the 'Gold and Black Attack' out of the ring, but a recovered Kiyaru then planted 'Tohoku Thunder' with the Tilt-A-Whirl Russian Leg-sweep for a two count. Meanwhile Yasujiro had climbed up top and then launched himself to the floor to wipe out Scorpion with a spectacular corkscrew press. </p><p> </p><p>

Kiyaru kept his concentration upon Kurofuji and headed up top, only for Yasujiro to roll into the ring, and send the 'Dark Enigma' crashing to the mat with the POISON RANA (Reverse Hurrancanrana), the exhausted 'Mighty Mouse' then rolled out of the ring....as Kurofuji crawled across to make the cover......</p><p> </p><p>

Kiyaru still had enough left to kick out....Kurofuji however then turned Kiyaru over and placed the 'Dark Enigma' in the KUROFUJI CRAB (Elevated Boston Crab).....</p><p> </p><p>

It looked as though Kiyaru could be forced to tap away the titles, but Scorpion managed to break back into the ring and force Kurofuji to release the hold with a basement drop-kick. </p><p> </p><p>

Kurofuji and Scorpion then exchanged strikes, before Scorpion sneaked in a kick to 'Tohoku Thunders' lower extremities and then drilled Kurofuji with a BRAINBUSTER......</p><p> </p><p>

Referee Terakado immediately waved off the cover....Scorpion was not the legal man.....Kiyaru had to make the tag ....but Yasujiro who had then climbed to the top nailed Scorpion with a missile drop-kick.....before Kurofuji then pulled Kiyaru back and planted the 'Dark Enigma' with a German Suplex....Yasujiro then followed with a standing shooting star press...UNIVERSAL STUDIOS !!!</p><p> </p><p>

The 'Gold and Black Attack' then managed to distract referee Terakado, whilst Kiyaru sneaked in a low blow on Kurofuji.....Yasujiro however nailed Kiyaru with a spinning kick, before hoisting the 'Dark Enigma' upon his shoulders....... </p><p> </p><p>

YASUJIRO SUPLEX !! (Electric Chair dropped into a Bridging German Suplex).....</p><p> </p><p>

Scorpion's stalling had managed to give Kiyaru that split second difference to recover just in time to get his shoulder up much to Yasujiro's frustration, but the 'Mighty Mouse' would remained undettered and after planting Kiyaru with a scoop slam headed up top......</p><p> </p><p>

But Kiyaru managed to stagger back up to his feet and cut Yasujiro off.....'the Dark Enigma' began to set up for the KIYARU EFFECT but Kurofuji rolled into the ring, and then sent Kiyaru crashing back into the ring with a superplex, Yasujro then re-steadied himself but as he was about to take flight, Scorpion broke into the ring and nailed 'the Mighty Mouse' with a leaping kick before attempting to set up for the ANEURYSM BRAINBUSTER..... </p><p> </p><p>

Yasujro managed to fend off the attempt, but with Kiyaru and Kurofuji both back up.....the end result was a 'tower of doom' scenario with Yasujiro feeling the worst...as the bodies ended up splayed across the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

Kurofuji was seemingly the freshest man however and landed a pair of drop-kicks on both members of the BHFS, before unleashing a pair of release German Suplexes...before heading up top......</p><p> </p><p>

'Tohoku Thunder' then came crashing down upon Scorpion with the KAMIKAZE HEADBUTT (Diving Headbutt), whilst Yasujiro who climbed up to the opposite corner then went soaring through the sky with the SKY TWISTER PRESS....</p><p> </p><p>

But Scorpion moved out of the way at the last split second and Kiyaru had got his knees up, as Yasujiro came crashing down....high risk, but no reward for the challengers.....</p><p> </p><p>

Scorpion then drilled Kurofuji with a Brainbuster, whilst Kiyaru then planted Yasujiro with the Tilt-A-Whirl Russian Leg sweep.....</p><p> </p><p>

Kurofuji kicked out of the Brainbuster, but was soon found himself set up for the ULTRA EFFECT (Elevated Kiyaru Effect)............</p><p> </p><p>

The main event pitted the Burning Sekigun's 'A Team' up against the fractured Team INSPIRE, but surely Kikkawa faced with taking on Nakasawa would be motivated for this one.</p><p> </p><p>

It appeared at first though he was not, as after the usual feeling out process that began with a spot of chain wrestling between Cobra and Pathlow...saw the Sekigun trio take an early advantage....as Kikkawa once again showed little interest in particpating much to the growing frustration of Pathlow and more in particular Iesada. </p><p> </p><p>

Despite having the situation presented before them the Sekigun, lacked the urgency to put this match to bed, whilst both Pathlow and Iesada showed energetic resillience. The problem was that each time a Sekigun member was in the ring, they would try to put either Pathlow or Iesada away with a regular move, that only bring a two count and then the INSPIRE men would find a way to turn things around and create enough breathing space to get their partner tagged into the match. In sense it was a handicap match, but 'Rapid Danger' were doing a good job of surviving and perhaps being presented with such a situation did not sit well with the morals of the Burning Sekigun. To everyone's surprise fifteen minutes had passed, and the disinterested Kikkawa had barely lifted a finger, for those entire fifteen minutes....</p><p> </p><p>

The World Champion Hiroaki Nakasawa though, suddenly seemed to had enough of fighting in second gear.....levelling Iesada with a lariat....he then reeled in the 2010 Super 10 Cup winner and set up for the COMPRESSION POWERBOMB (Scoop Lift Powerbomb)....Iesada though managed to counter into a victory roll.....</p><p> </p><p>

One......</p><p> </p><p>

Two......</p><p> </p><p>

Nakasawa kicked out, but was then struck with a knee strike from Iesada......who then rolled Nakasawa up with a crucifix pin...........</p><p> </p><p>

The 'H-Bomb' then kicked out again, but Iesada immediately looked to apply the IESADA SPECIAL (Cross Arm Breaker) but Naksawa managed to counter that by clasping his hands together, something that prevented Iesada from being able to fully lock in the submission....the World Champion made it to the ropes and then retreated back to his corner with a look of frustration.....</p><p> </p><p>

Cobra was tagged in and he nailed Iesada with a drop-kick, before Cobra then dumped 'Dangeorus' with a release German suplex, before the 'reformed hero' could follow up however, Nakasawa tagged himself back into the match with a blind-tag, to the bemusement of the former BHB member. Nakasawa levelled Iesada with another lariat and then set up for the COMPRESSION POWERBOMB again........This time Iesada perhaps too worn down now, was unable to counter it......</p><p> </p><p>

Thr......</p><p> </p><p>

Kikkawa dived in and made the save, as with previous INSPIRE six man tags it appeared that Kikkawa wanted to expend as little effort as possible, but was still motivated enough not to accept losing.....this was obviously the point in the match where he felt the situation had become critical enough for him to ride in on the proverbial white horse.</p><p> </p><p>

Of course Kikkawa's intervention caught the attention of Nakasawa....after a brief tense staredown the two men who would face each other at Night of the Burning Hammer in a unification of their titles...then unloaded on one another......referee Umeki tried to come between them as Kikkawa was not the legal man....however his efforts to restore order...saw him 'accidently' shoved aside...it was hard to tell by whom but the senior referee ended up tripping over himself and being faceplanted into the canvas.......</p><p> </p><p>

All of a sudden chaos broke lose and all six men were in the ring, before the mass six man brawl broke out onto the floor....it was of course a ripe opportunity for the two Junior Division members to be overcome with a bout of insanity and put their bodies on the line for no rhyme or reason, other than when faced with these sort of chaotic melees, it's just what they do...Cobra launched himself off the top turbuckle with a diving cross body upon a brawling melee of Nakasawa, Kikkawa, Iesada and Horri and then Pathlow came soaring through the ropes like heat seeking missile......</p><p> </p><p>

Everyone now was sprawled across the floor, and Umeki who had now regained his senses started a double twenty count....he had clearly forgotten who the legal men were, but someone from either team had to get back into the ring....or they'd lose the match by count-out. </p><p> </p><p>

It was Cobra and Iesada who would beat the count for their respective teams...Iesada connected with a rolling elbow and then set up for the IESADA BRIDGE (Bridging Northern Lights Suplex) but Cobra held firm and countered into his own version of a bridging Northern Lights the STONEPLEX.....</p><p> </p><p>

Iesada kicked out, but Cobra was able to maintain the pressure turning Cobra over into the STONE HOLD (Sharpshooter).....</p><p> </p><p>

However Pathlow was on hand to break that up with a well timed basement drop-kick.....'Rapid Danger' then combined to nail Cobra with a drop toe hold/basement drop-kick combo, before Iesada planted Cobra with a snap suplex and Pathlow then headed up top to come crashing down upon the 'reformed hero' with the HEART COMPACTOR (Diving Double Knee Drop), before Iesada still the legal man made the cover.....</p><p> </p><p>

Kinnojo Horri made the save, but was immediately taken down with a chop-block/Enziguri combo from the inaugral UTL cup winners.....Iesada then went to make the cover.....</p><p> </p><p>

But referee Umeki looking to restore order quickly waved the cover off. Things then settled down a little from there, with Cobra finding himself isolated in the INSPIRE corner.......</p><p> </p><p>

It was at that point Kikkawa made a blind tag on Pathlow who was about to drill Cobra with the KILL DRILL (Double Underhook Piledriver).....</p><p> </p><p>

Cobra was drilled into the mat, and Pathlow went for the cover but having seen Kikkawa's tag...Umeki waved the cover of much to Patlow's immediate frustration. Kikkawa then smugly stepped into the ring and circled Cobra before dropping down to make the cover......</p><p> </p><p>

Cobra kicked out, had Pathlow been allowed to make the cover immediately, then surely this match would have been over......</p><p> </p><p>

Kikkawa beat the mat in frustration and then hoisted Cobra upon his shoulders..the 'King of Fighters' appeared to be setting up for the KIKKAWA DRIVER (Wrist Clutch Death Valley Driver) but Cobra suddenly countered into a crucifix bomb.......</p><p> </p><p>

Kikkawa kicked out and rose to his feet but was then nailed with a drop-kick from Cobra, who then tagged in Kinnojo Horri......</p><p> </p><p>

Kikkawa then staggered into a lariat from Horri, before 'Mr One Million Per Cent Burning Hammer' then summoned up the strength to plant the 'King of Fighters' with a HURRICANE SPINEBUSTER (Spinning Spinebuster)....</p><p> </p><p>

Horri looked to be fading under the pressure of the hold.....</p><p> </p><p>

But 'Mr One Million Per Cent Burning Hammer' suddenly found a second wind and began to battle his way across to the ropes...only for Kikkawa to pull Horri back towards the centree of the ring....</p><p> </p><p>

However seeing enough to take drastic action, Nakasawa managed to enter the ring and make the save, stomping away on Kikkawa to release the hold....before being ordered back to his corner by Umeki......</p><p> </p><p>

Kikkawa lifted Horri back up to a vertical base, and attempted to whip 'Mr One Million Per Cent Burning Hammer into the ropes.....but Horri reversed it, and Nakasawa was waiting to nail Kikkawa in the back with a chair...only for Cobra to rip it out of Nakasawa's hands and admonish the World Champion for even thinking about resorting to such tactics.....</p><p> </p><p>

Nakasawa of course did not take too kindly to be dressed down, and got into a ringside argument with Cobra.....</p><p> </p><p>

Meanwhile back in the ring...Kikkawa managed to rebound off the ropes with Lariat, only to be met with a Lariat from Horri, resulting in a double mid-ring collision.....</p><p> </p><p>

Both then tried to make tags out to their respective partners, but Horri found there was no one on the apron to take the tag as Nakasawa and Cobra continued their slanging/shoving match out on the floor......</p><p> </p><p>

Kikkawa meanwhile was about to tag into Iesada, who dropped off the apron and then decided to head up the entrance ramp....the 'Super 10 Cup' winner had finally had enough of Kikkawa's 'games'....a conflicted Pathlow then looked as though he was about to do the same, Iesada, pleading the man he had won the UTL Cup with to follow him up....but to Iesada's disappointment and displeasure.. Pathlow had a sudden change of heart, and took the tag from the Team INSPIRE leader.....</p><p> </p><p>

Horri showed his fighting spirit by kicking out, and then battling his way up to his feet, knocking Pathlow back with a few desperation lefts and rights...before whipping Pathlow into the ropes.....'Rapid Fire' however used the momentum to set up for the Apocalyspe Lariat, only for Nakasawa to nail Pathlow from behind and then pull the UTL Cup winner out on to the floor....Nakasawa then planted Pathlow with the NAKASAWA NECKBREAKER (Inverted Swinging Neckbreaker)....before pitching the dazed Pathlow back into the ring......</p><p> </p><p>

Horri though wasn't happy about what just happened, and like Cobra earlier, took to arguing with Nakasawa, over 'cutting corners' instead of making the cover......</p><p> </p><p>

That allowed for Pathlow to recover and nail Horri with a drop-kick to the back of the head.....</p><p> </p><p>

Horri then turned around into another BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA (Running Leaping Side Kick)........</p><p> </p><p>

BURNING COBRA broke into the ring to make the save, but was soon sent back out with a drop-kick from Pathlow......</p><p> </p><p>

Meanwhile Nakasawa had now had enough of his team mates 'meddling' just like Iesada earlier...walked up the entrance ramp to desert his team-mates....what started out as a Six Man Tag had now become a regular tag. </p><p> </p><p>

Pathlow headed up top, but BURNING Cobra leaped up onto the apron and cut Pathlow off before...'Rapid Fire' however managed to shove Cobra off only for a recovered Horri to scoop underneath Pathlow and send the UTL Cup winner crashing into the ring with a POWERBOMB......</p><p> </p><p>

Cobra then climbed up top once again and then came came crashing down upon Pathlow with the FROM CANADA WITH LOVE (Swandive Headbutt)....before Horri took over once again to make the cover......</p><p> </p><p>

But he was not the legal man.......</p><p> </p><p>

Kikkawa managed to drag Pathlow back to the corner and make the tag, but Horri had recovered enough of his senses to get the tag to a fresh BURNING COBRA, who ducked under a KIKKAWA LARIAT and then nailed the 'King of Fighters' with a drop-kick, the 'reformed hero' then followed up with a dizzying head-scissors before immediately applying the ALABASTER AGONY (Leg Hook Spinning Head-scissors Arm Bar).....</p><p> </p><p>

The pain was etched across Kikkawa's face, as Cobra wrenched back on the excrutiating submission hold.....it was the type of hold that could force an instant tap out from a weaker opponent....</p><p> </p><p>

But to Cobra's frustration however Kikkawa is not one of those weaker opponents and ring positioning was just about in Kikkawa's favour and the 'King of Fighters' managed to stretch out a leg before he would be forced to tap away the match......</p><p> </p><p>

Cobra then decided to head up top once again, but Kikkawa managed to battle his way back up to his feet, and then after nailing Cobra with a few lefts and rights, scooped the 'reformed hero' upon his shoulders but Cobra managed to slip off, and then plant Kikkawa with a Tornado DDT......</p><p> </p><p>

Kikkawa however suddenly went into 'superhuman' mode...shaking off the effects of the DDT, before levelling Cobra with a KIKKAWA LARIAT...the 'King of Fighters' however suddenly collapsed to the mat clutching his arm in agony, unable to follow up with an immediate cover.</p><p> </p><p>

Cobra who came back to his senses first then looked to make the tag out to Horri, only for Pathlow to burst back into the ring and drop-kick Horri off the apron.....Cobra then nailed Pathlow with an Enziguri, before drilling 'Rapid Fire' with the DEATH BY COBRA (Double Wrist Clutch Powerbomb).....</p><p> </p><p>

Pathlow however was not the man Cobra could pin however to win the match, and the 'reformed hero' suddenly found himself levelled with a Big Boot from Kikkawa....the 'King of Fighters' then reeled Cobra in and then after lifting the 'reformed hero' up with a vertical suplex.....sent Cobra crashing to the mat with a powerbomb...INCENDIARY TOWER !!!!</p><p> </p><p>

Nakasawa and Kikkawa then unloaded on each other, neither of these great champions, giving an inch to the other......Kikkawa then tried for the BURNING LARIAT but Nakasawa was able to block, and then returned fire with the 'SUDDEN IMPACT LARIAT'......</p><p> </p><p>

Kikkawa went down........</p><p> </p><p>

But Umeki recognised that Nakasawa was not the legal man and ordered the World Champion back to the corner.....Cobra then crawled across...he had a choice of who to tag in....should he let Nakasawa finish the job or tag in the recovered Horri.....Cobra chose Horri...a decision the World Champion looked far than happy about.......</p><p> </p><p>

To the sudden surprise of everyone in the Tochigi Sports Stadium, the bell had rung to signal that the 45 minute time limit had expired....this epic match of twists and turns...had come and end....an end where a winner could not be found. The frustration and disappointment of both Nakasawa and Kikkawa not to have come away with the victory was etched across their faces, as they collapsed to the canvas, exhausted by their inconclusive efforts...had the ever increasing egos of both men lead to their teams respective failure's to come away with the victory? </p><p> </p><p>

<span style="font-family:'Courier New';"><strong>Onodera's Assessment:</strong></span><span style="font-family:'Courier New';"> We took a risk here, by putting such a major emphasis on the main event delivering something epic at the end of the show, and though the 'no winner could be found' ending did frustrate a portion of the audience, on the whole this was a great match..that mixed high quality in-ring action with dramatic story-telling. Team INSPIRE's slow descent into implodement continued here, but perhaps more intriguing is Nakasawa-san's growing conflict with the 'fair play' morals of the Burning Sekigun...something that lead to the Sekigun failing to take advantage of their opponents own disarray</span>. </p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#2F4F4F;"><strong>BURNING Cobra </strong></span><span style="color:#2F4F4F;"><strong><span style="font-size:8px;">(in English):</span></strong></span><span style="color:#2F4F4F;"> I broke away from the Black Heart Brethren, because I saw first hand the sort of person winning by any means necessary, turns you into...I fear that Nakasawa-san is becoming the very person, he vowed to battle against...we can only hope he see's sense soon, or this could present a much more worrying situation for BHOTWG to have to battle with, than the Brethren themselves.</span> </p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;"><strong>Kinnojo Horri:</strong></span><span style="color:#0000FF;"> I don't know what's up with Nakasawa-san right now, but his recent behaviour worries me, I for one can only hope he looks at himself and realises what he is becoming.....</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#000080;"><strong>Hiroaki Nakasawa:</strong></span><span style="color:#000080;"> It appears that what I want, and what the rest of the Sekigun want appear to be at loggerheads right now....you see I want to win and with that, as the leader of the Burning Sekigun, I also want them to continue to be successful..but there are other groups out there who will go that extra mile to get one over on us, my colleagues must realise that to survive in these times they need to fight fire with fire. I regret walking out on Horri-san and Cobra-san mid-match, that I must apologise for...my frustrations got the better of me....they shouldn't have. However they must come to realise that I am the leader of the Burning Sekigun, and as Burning World Champion, it would therefore be in their best interests to follow my lead.</span> </p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="color:#A0522D;"><strong>Tasuku Iesada:</strong></span></span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="color:#A0522D;"> Look I'm done with Kikkawa-san and his stupid 'games'....I don't need to follow the lead of someone so self-centred....I stuck by him for so long, because we had a friendship, but that friendship has evaporated. Kikkawa-san is so up himself, that the very notion of having a team around him, is a laughable idea. I do not know why Pathlow-san has decided to stick by his side for now, but I hope he realises that it was I, that won the UTL beside him and not Kikkawa-san</span></span><span style="color:#FF0000;">.</span> </p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong>John Pathlow </strong></span><span style="color:#FF0000;"><strong><span style="font-size:8px;">(in English):</span></strong></span><span style="color:#FF0000;"> I'm sticking by Kikkawa-san's side because he gave me an opportunity here, and I wan't to repay his faith in me, something I have failed to do....Sure he drives us to impossible standards, but it's those standards that will see us become the best...I also want to continue my relationship with Iesada-san...we have a good team together.. we need to work through this...Iesada-san and Kikkawa-san can't throw it all away over this. </span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#8B0000;"><strong>Tadiyuki Kikkawa:</strong></span><span style="color:#8B0000;"> If Iesada-san want's to sulk off, let him.....I don't need him..in fact I don't need anyone... I don't even need Pathlow-san.....but if he want's to stick by me, then good for him, at least he has the sense to continue to learn from the best in the world, the 'King of Fighters'......</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#8B0000;">And for the record, I do NOT have a thing for maid outfits, but in my book whiny little sorts like Iesada-san probably do</span>. </p><p>

<strong>Onodera's Viewpoint:</strong> It was something of a gamble to throw out this sort of card, a card that only concentrated on a few matches, whilst the rest was filler...the idea was that matches that were important would have a fully invested crowd, that wasn't burnt out. In my opinion, it was just about succesful...though had the main event not delivered...then this would have failed, and taking such a gamble at such an important venue, our own stronghold...I admit was a little fool-hardy, we just about 'got away with it'.... I think it's an approach that could be worth exploring a few more times, but looking back I would have booked another 'strong' match, there was after-all a little too much filler.</p>

Great show! At first, when I saw the potential for Nakasawa to go heel I was like "WHY?! It makes no sense!!" but then again, I forgot who the author of the diary was . You'd probably could make a turd like Buff Bagwell into a credible World Champion so whatever you are doing with Nakasawa will be great. KUTGW!

Lo-Drew continues to lead, but Zergon is still hot on his heels, after they both scored 9 points this round...in fact it's pretty tight all round at the half way stage, with three rounds to go....only 5 points separate BigPapa42 from the current leader. </p><p> </p><p>

This was a pretty easy round to at least rack up a reasonable score on, with all the potential 'squashes' that filled up about half the show. I guess the 45 minute time-limit draw cruelly caught everyone out (I think that match should have come with some kind of health warning- it was so epic). </p><p> </p><p>

The only other real toss up in my view was the survival elimination between Dragon Feet 2K9 and the 'B' squad of the Burning Sekigun. Some did get caught out by that, because I suppose the prescence of American Optimus as potential jobber du jour for the Dragon Feeter's...gave the Sekigun a chance of winning. </p><p> </p><p>

Surprisingly, or perhaps more through misunderstanding a few also tipped K.C Glenn to win. As Zergon pointed out Glenn is still a young lion...the 'trial series' is an often seen concept in Puroresu, and is often used as a way to build a young wrestler....as they prove themselves 'worthy' of being on the roster. I did take a slight twist to it though, as in the post match interiew (if you could understand Glenn's southern drawl), Glenn said it was idea, rather than management's idea.</p>

Great show and fantastic main event. Made me feel like I was reading a recap of one of the great six-man tags from All Japan in the early 90s.

I'm happy to see it came off as epic sounding, as I wished it to be. To compare it to the great early 90's six man tags from All-Japan is a fantastic compliment.

Night of the Burning Hammer 20 is only 11 days away, set to take place at the Kanagawa Sports Stadium on Friday October 29th, BHOTWG have released provisional details of 7 matches (including all title defences), that will make up the card for Puroresu's grandest stage.

Hiroaki Nakasawa will face Tadiyuki Kikkawa in the main event to unify the Burning World and King of Fighter's Championship.

Sensational Dragon will defend the Junior Championship against 2010 Best of the Super Juniors Cup winner Elemental III

The Rebellion will defend the World Tag Team Championship against the 2010 UTL Cup Winners Rapid Fire*

* This is subject to change, as The Rebellion will defend their titles against either Explosive Tension or Wild Fire on an upcoming tour show, should one of those teams defeat The Rebellion...then they will defend the titles against Rapid Fire.

The Black Heart Flying Squadron will defend the Junior Tag Team Championship, in a 30 minute four way 'Falls Sprint' against Universal Excelllence, Size of the Fight and Little Fury.

Kinnojo Horri and Black Cobra will face off against Yasunobu Masuno and Yasuhiko Taira, respectively in a series of singles matches pitting the Burning Sekigun against the Black Heart Brethren.

The unbeaten (at the time of publication) Some Dude In A Mask will continue his run of singles challenges, with Macho-Universe leader Mister Macho chosen as his opponent at Night of the Burning Hammer.

BHOTWG have said there will be more matches (around 5) added to the 4 hour long mega-show but that they will be announced after the up-coming tour shows.

The road towards Night of the Burning Hammer is gathering pace, as BHOTWG's Combustion Tour heads to the Sapporo Sports Park in Hokkaido on Wednesday 20th October.

Co main eventing the show will be a pair of star studded Tag Team contests. One of these match-ups will see World Champion Hiroaki Nakasawa team with BURNING Cobra to take on the Dragon Feet 2K9 pair of Junior Champion Sensational Dragon and World Tag Team Champion Miyamae. Nakasawa's shift in attitude of late, has begun to not sit well with his stable mates and it was this lack of being on the 'same page' that saw a Burning Sekigun trio lead by Nakasawa fail to take full advantage of a Team INSPIRE trio with it's own problems in Monday's epic six main event. Cobra was part of that same trio and it will be interesting to see if they can put their differences aside or if their Dragon Feet 2K9 opponents can take advantage of the cracks appearing in the Sekigun ranks.

The other main event tag match see's the more unified Burning Sekigun pairing of Kinnojo Horri and Elemental III take on the remaining Team INSPIRE duo of Tadiyuki Kikkawa and John Pathlow. Despite the man Pathlow won the UTL Cup alongside Tasuku Iesada finally snapping and walking out on Team INSPIRE, Pathlow has decided to stay loyal to Kikkawa...feeling he should repay the faith the King of Fighters originally showed in him. Can the last remnants of Team INSPIRE get themselves back on track or will Horri/Elemental III show that major cracks still remain.

The other main match on the card is the 'Battle of Sapporo' a ten man 'gauntlet' where eliminations can happen either through pinfall/submission or throwing an opponent over the top-rope (though the final elimination can be pinfall/submission only), and there is a major incentive for the winner of this match as they will earn the first shot at the Unified World Championship after Night of the Burning Hammer. Entrants include Chuichi Sanda, Gareth Wayne, Masaaki Okazaki, Mister Macho, Mitsunari Fuganaga, Nisso Yuasha, Tadakuni Toshusai, Takayuki Onodera, Yasunobu Masuno and Yasuhiko Taira.

The enigmatic Some Dude In A Mask has been ripping through the competition since he came into BHOTWG, however it appears that Kansuke Konda is keen to reveal just who the silent masked man is, challenging SDIAM to put his mask on the line.....the mysterious masked man agreed to the challenge, obviously feeling confident that his identity would remain strouded in mystery but Kansuke Konda is someone who thrives against tough opposition and no one should count out the 'Big Fight Player' from causing the upset and forcing SDIAM to reveal exactly who he is.

There are two other intriguing singles matches, as Kevin Christopher Glenn's 20 Match Trial Series continues against Barei Yasujiro and Yasujiro's Universal Excellence partner Haru Kurofuji faces off with Tasuku Iesada, in Iesada's first official match as his 'own man' away from following Kikkawa's leadership as part of Team INSPIRE.

A pair of multi man tag's fill the remainder of the main show card, as the Dragon Feet 2K9 trio of World Tag Team Champion Shimedzu, Omezo Shikitei and American Optimus line up against the trio of former Dragon Feeter Super Joshuya, The Incredible Koyama and Stone Yoshikawa. Whilst there will be 8 man action with a Sekigun quartet of Marihito Masuko, Hyosuke Kokan and Snow Lizzard (Shiraishi & Kawate) taking on a RAGE unit of Merle O'Curle, Toshiki Shibanumo and Little Fury (VENOM & Shiomi).

The pre-show see's Junior Tag Team Champions Black Heart Flying Squadron in action against Tiger Fuyuki and White Samurai and there will be a three way featuring Red Panther, Roku Sotomura and Mystic Dragon.

I'm happy to see it came off as epic sounding, as I wished it to be. To compare it to the great early 90's six man tags from All-Japan is a fantastic compliment.

It is definitely meant as a high compliment. That era of All Japan has some of my favorite wrestling ever. Just epic stuff. I know that Burning Hammer is, in many ways, more comparable to New Japan, due to the super juniors and the overall strong style (versus King's Road). With the length of the match and the intensity you captured, it just feels more like All Japan.
