First year review:

Well, USPW aren’t exploding in popularity, but that wasn’t my main aim. That was to keep USPW feeling like… USPW, and I think that I’ve achieved – in fact looking back at every PPV this year the headliners were already in USPW when I joined. Of the newcomers only Jack Griffith and Gorgon have won titles, while T-Rex, Savage Fury, Darryl Devine, Andre Jones and The Force have all had runs. It’s still USPW. Whether that’s a good thing is a completely different matter.

Luckiest workers of the year? There’s three of them. When Chris Caulfield departed I desperately needed a heel to put over him, and Parker filled the bill. Not only did he go over Caulfield, but he also allied himself with Ernygma, which is never a bad move.

The other workers are Savage Fury, who have hit luck three times. Firstly when I had nothing for them to do they fell into the roll of Sam Strong’s bodyguards. Then when I thought Andre Jones might leave they picked up the USPW Tag Team Titles, in a feud that was only designed originally to turn them heel. By the time I did get around to turning them heel Sam Strong was back, and they jumped straight into the main story to end the year. All this for a tag team that I had no initial plans for this year.

Dearly missed departures – Tyson Baine (SWF – only wrestling on PPV’s), Chris Caulfield (SWF – being pushed) and James Justice (CGC – again, being pushed). Anger and Peter Valentine retired, The Hillbilly’s were released after Al’s contract expired, Paige Croft and April Appleseed came and went. Marc Speed, Jack Griffith, Steven Parker, Al Coleman, Gorgon, Joanne Rodriguez, Amber Allen, Travis Century, Sayeed Ali (Dark Disciple), Man Mountain Cahill (Pain), Hell Monkey (John Pathlow), Jared Johnson, Fox Mask (Nightfox), Findlay, Melody and Bob Casey have all joined USPW, of which… I’m not sure that I’d miss that many. If push came to shove I’d be happy to be left with Speed, Parker, Griffith, J-Ro, Allen and Pathlow. There are also a number of MOSC workers under contract with USPW after the surprising buyout, of which only Daniel Black Francis (Daniel Reed) is being used in any significant way.

Matches of the Year:

Enygma defeated Nicky Champion at USPW United States of Pain (B)

Enygma defeated James Justice on USPW American Wrestling (B)

Enygma and Steven Parker defeated Bruce the Giant and Chris Caulfield on USPW American Wrestling (B)

Enygma and Steven Parker defeated The People’s Team on USPW American Wrestling (B)

Enygma defeated Art Reed on USPW American Wrestling (B)

There’s… a theme. Enygma was in match #6 as well, although in tag defeat. The first match not featuring Enygma was at #7, with Art Reed and Nicky Champion defeating Jack Griffith and Jumbo Jackson.

Noticeable events in the world of wrestling:

SWF and TCW go Global, NOTBPW go National, as do CGC but they can’t stay there. Apart from that, a lot of growth in the rest of the world. USPW buy MOSC out. The Scotsman and Trance pass away. Steve Flash holds the book at NOTBPW while Bryan Holmes does the honour at PGHW.

2011:

As EX2010 shut their doors, USPW announce the release of former MOSC workers Jimmy Morris, Mark Moore and Lawrence Young. Only Jimmy Morris had appeared on USPW television, being squashed by T-Rex.

Announced for USPW American Wrestling:

Freddie Datsun vs Andre Jones

Raven Robinson vs Joanne Rodriguez

Darryl Devine, Nightfox, Al Coleman, Findlay and Jay Chord vs Jumbo Jackson, Jack Griffith, Travis Century, Pain, Dark Disciple

Daniel Reed vs Enygma

Nicky Champion vs Danny Rushmore

USPW American Wrestling:

Live from the Mid Atlantic

Pre-Show: Art Reed, Marc Speed, Ekuma and that mysterious tag team defeated Kicks From Hell, The Rebels and Bruiser (D)

Sam Strong opened the show to sort out the title situation in USPW. Firstly, T-Rex’s opponent needed to be decided for Stars, Stripes and Slams – or, as Sam said, opponents. Sam declared that T-Rex had blown through many opponents, and now he would face three men… an announcement that inevitably brought the World Champion out. Melody declared that the ruling was unfair, to which Sam pointed out that a) T-Rex originally won the World Title without pinning the World Champion, and b) he’s the boss and he could do anything he wanted. He brought out the competitors one by one – the man Rex defeated for the World Title, Bruce the Giant (queue cheers). The youngster who T-Rex had to enlist help to defeated, Nicky Champion (more cheers). And Sam announced his final addition to the match – Enygma! The masked man came out looking confused, before Sam reminded Enygma that he would not be entitled to any title matches until the Television Title was returned to him, and he needed to confirm the end of the match by the end of the match. As such, unless he was handed the title by the end of the show, Enygma would be struck off from the match. Enygma took a mic and told Sam that he thought he was being clever – but he had no idea what he was messing with – and he would consider his offer (B+)

Match #1: Freddie Datsun vs Andre Jones

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/FreddieDatsun.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AndreJones.jpg

Andre Jones, who is the legitimate holder of the Television Title, looked a frustrated figure in the ring, with Micky Starr pointing out that wasn’t a surprise considering he had to go weeks without his title. In the ring we saw an even match but we needed to keep Jones strong, so he got the victory with a Blast from the Past.

Andre Jones defeated Freddie Datsun in 7.34 ©

Andre Jones took a mic after the match and turned his attention towards Enygma. Jones ranted that Enygma shouldn’t have to think whether or not to return that Television Title to it’s rightful holder – he should just do it. Jones told Enygma he was full of himself – he was the only one who looked good in gold, and he was the only person who deserbed it (B-)

Backstage and Melody was having to calm T-Rex down, who was angry at the ruling on his title defence. He was not to be stopped so Melody sent Danny Rushmore in, who eventually calmed down the World Champion. Melody said that they still had the title – and would have to see what they could do in the next few weeks to even the odds ©

Match #2: Raven Robinson vs Joanne Rodriguez

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/RavenNightfall_alt2.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JoanneRodriguez_alt1.jpg

Wow, this was disappointing. These two have much more talent than this, especially J-Ro, but she’s never really delivered. With Alicia Strong on commentary and Belle Bryden distraction was enough for J-Ro to deliver a J-Rocker and pick up the victory.

Joanne Rodriguez defeated Raven Robinson in 6.43 (D)

J-Ro and Bryden cut a joint promo after the match claiming that Alicia Strong was dodging defending her title by hiding behind her father. The Women’s Champion rejected the accusation, saying that a contender hadn’t been set, and perhaps they should prove that they could earn a title shot. She suggested a match against one another, but Bryden chimed in that they wouldn’t be split that easily (D+)

Sam Strong was shown backstage inviting Mick Muscles into his office, congratulating him on his National Title win and offering him a proposal (B+)

Match #3: Darryl Devine, Nightfox, Al Coleman, Findlay and Jay Chord vs Jumbo Jackson, Jack Griffith, Travis Century, Pain, Dark Disciple

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DarrylDevine-1.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/FoxMask_black.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AlColeman.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/FindlayOFarraday.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JayChord.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JumboJackson.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JackGriffith.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/TravisCentury.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Pain_eay.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/SayedAli_eay.jpg

Well, the heels were midcarders though to a Main Eventer – the faces were midcarders through to less, with Jay Chord making a debut through a trade with MAW. The win was therefore only going in one place – Jumbo Jackson picking it up after hitting a Jumbo Avalanche on Al Coleman.

Jumbo Jackson, Jack Griffith, Travis Century, Pain, Dark Disciple defeated Darryl Devine, Nightfox, Al Coleman, Findlay and Jay Chord in 11.18 ©

Bruce the Giant was shown with Enygma backstage, noting that they would be in the ring once more – just like for the last two PPV’s – and everyone knows who came on top then. Savage Fury came over which only made the Giant wonder how many people that Enygma had to bring in to defeat him, but Enygma shook his head and said that he had better things to do, heading to the ring (B-)

Match #4: Daniel Reed vs Enygma

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DanielFrancis.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Enygma.jpg

Art Reed was ringside to support his cousin, but there was no way he was coming out the winner here. He gave a good impression, and then fell to an Enygma Cutter.

Enygma defeated Daniel Reed in 7.32 ©

Sam Strong came out to ask for the Television Title when Steven Parker came out with the title around his shoulder, declaring that the title was his now. He suggested that Sam makes a match with whoever he thinks should be the champion, and he’ll prove it. Sam said that he had a better idea. He proposed a unification match – the Television Title and National Title were to be merged into one. He said it would happen at Stars, Stripes and Slams in a Elimination Match featuring the Television Title holder, Andre Jones, the man claiming he should be champion, Steven Parker, then man who had a title shot ruined by Parker, The Force, and National Champion Mick Muscles. Sam said that if Parker truly deserved the title he would walk out of it – but he had to surrender the title to him now. Parker looked around before handing the title to Strong, telling him he would be taking it back at Red, White and Blue (B-)

Match #5: Nicky Champion vs Danny Rushmore

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/NickyChampion_alt.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DannyRushmore.jpg

Nicky Champion was given the opportunity against the man who cost him his World Title shot at Made in America, but a man who was reinvigorated by his association with World Title holder T-Rex. However, Nicky Champion slowly took over before setting up a Hawkeye Hammer – at which point T-Rex slid into the ring and blasted Champion with his title bell, causing the DQ.

Nicky Champion defeated Danny Rushmore in 10.55 by DQ (B-)

A 2 vs 1 beatdown was evened up with Bruce the Giant coming out for the save, while Enygma also came out with a chair… so he could watch proceedings from outside (B+)

Overall Rating B-

4/5 for both BHK1978 and BYU 14 - the "team of brats" not quite coming through for them.

That actually ended up being a solid show – apart from the Women’s match the ring actions was decent, the Main Event was worthy of said slot (even with Danny Rushmore in it), and the angles were both highly rated and developed storylines.

Haruki Kudo retires – holding the GCG World Heavyweight Title. He probably deserved that to. Takayuki 2000 is the new title holder.

USPW American Wrestling:

Live from the South West

Pre-Show: Travis Century, Pain and Dark Disciple defeated The People’s Team and Al Coleman (D+)

Match #1: Art & Daniel Reed vs Kicks From Hell

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/ArtReed.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DanielFrancis.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/HellMonkey_alt2-1.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JaredJohnson.jpg

This was not an ordinary USPW match – but it was still a good match. The few purists that still tune into USPW had a treat as we saw plenty of technical action mixed with some brawling, until Art Reed locked Pathlow into the Dread Lock. Yes, I actually had Pathlow lose rather than Johnson for a change.

Art & Daniel Reed defeated Kicks From Hell in 7.26 ©

Enygma and Steven Parker were shown backstage congratulating one another on how they had manipulated Strong into giving them both title shots, when Belle Bryden entered. She asked where her title shot was to complete silence. She turned around to Parker and told him to remember who helped turn his losing streak around, and demanded that he got her a title match if he wanted their relationship to continue in any way or form (B-)

Match #2: Jay Chord vs Java

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JayChord.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Java.jpg

Jay Chord’s second appearance in a trade, and he certainly proves that he can work by getting a half decent match out of one of Savage Fury – no mean feat. He still lost, although it took interference from Tribal Warrior.

Java defeated Jay Chord in 5.30 (C-)

Savage Fury double teamed Jay Chord until a large, strong looking men came down to the ring for the save, helping Jay Chord up after chasing off Savage Fury (D+)

We cut backstage to Sam Stong’s office, who was watching a monitor with a lady by his side, telling her that she had just witnessed Ekuma – someone he had personally brought into USPW. At that point Parker and Bryden entered, and ignored Sam when he asked what they thought of his newest signing. Parker demanded a title match for Bryden, telling Strong that if he didn’t book the match it proved his daughter was a coward. Sam laughed, and said it meant no such thing – but title shots had to be earned. But he knew what to do – he introduced Bryden to Geena, the lady by his side. Strong told Bryden that Geena was from… somewhere wild, and wanted to prove herself against USPW’s top talent. It seemed that a match with Bryden was in the offing, and then he’ll consider things (C+)

Match #3: Darryl Devine and Nightfox vs Jumbo Jackson and Jack Griffith

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DarrylDevine-1.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/FoxMask_black.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JumboJackson.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JackGriffith.jpg

Devine and Nightfox seem to have become my jobber a face team, and here they jobbed once more – Nightfox falling to a Jack in the Box.

Jumbo Jackson and Jack Griffith defeated Darryl Devine and Nightfox in 5.10 (C-)

After the match the victors took the mic to complain that they were not being given a fair crack at USPW. Both men were supreme talent, yet youngsters that no-one’s heard of like Daniel Reed and Marc Speed were being given prime time matches – matches that they should be in. Sneer took the mic and said that he was being ignored – but his clients would make sure that they were heard (C+)

Match #4: Geena vs Belle Bryden

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/GeenaPrincess_alt.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BelleBryden.jpg

Some times you gamble and it doesn’t come off – other times you hit great chemistry, like here. Alicia Strong was also on commentary, and she meshes well with Steve Smith, so this match certainly had a lot going for it. It didn’t stun anyone, but considering no-one had heard of Geena it was a decent result. Geena worked at a ferocious rate, which was to cost her when she missed a couple of moves and fell into a Dish of the Day.

Belle Bryden defeated Geena in 6.17 (D+)

Bryden took a mic and asked for a title shot when Joanne Rodriguez came out. She said that if all one had to do to gain a title shot was defeat a newcomer, she could prove just as worthy. Geena grabbed the mic off Bryden and told J-Ro to bring it, and they agreed to meet next week (D)

Mick Muscles and The Force were shown going over to Steven Parker, asking the youngster what it felt like being under the thumb of a woman. Parker just screwed up his face, telling the men that they were just jealous, as Bryden would never go near any of them. Mick Muscles patted his title, and pointed out that Bryden seemed obsessed with championships – and he was a champion. That brought Andre Jones in, back with his Television Title to suggest that he was more than an equal for Bryden, as he was also a champion. Parker stood up and stomped his feet, telling everyone that they did not stand up to him – in fact he would take both titles at Red, White and Blue, and then everyone else can just go. The Force looked at Muscles and murmured “Just go?”, which caused Parker to leave the room, slamming the door behind him to much laughs (C+)

Match #5: Marc Speed vs Enygma

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/MarcSpeed.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Enygma.jpg

I expect this one will outperform the Main Event… which was precisely why I booked it. Marc Speed gave a decent account for himself in front of some CZCW fans (I was going to say hardcore CZCW fans, but they wouldn’t be seen dead here), and shared nearfalls with Enygma. It took Griffith and Jackson to sway the match, Griffith distracting the ref while Jackson clotheslined Speed. An Enygma Cutter later, and the masked man had the victory.

Enygma defeated Marc Speed in 10.47 (B-)

Bruce the Giant and Nicky Champion hyped the Main Event, reminding everyone of their title shot, and promising to show themselves as stronger than the champion in the Main Event (B)

Match #6: Bruce the Giant and Nicky Champion vs T-Rex and Danny Rushmore

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BrucetheGiant.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/NickyChampion_alt.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/T-Rex_alt1.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DannyRushmore.jpg

Oh yuck, this wasn’t meant to be this bad. I’m going to regret not switching the last two matches and dropping Geena’s segments. And it turns out that Bruce and Nicky don’t work well together as a team. Shucks. Anyway, this was the perfect opportunity for T-Rex to suffer a rare defeat, given that Rushmore could take the pin. Which he did, after a Giant Chokeslam from Bruce.

Bruce the Giant and Nicky Champion defeated T-Rex and Danny Rushmore in 12.22 (C-)

Overall Rating C

I thought that show was pretty decent… right up until the Main Event. Unless you’re a fan of Dark Truth or The People’s Team, as you wouldn’t have seen them unless you were at the show. We got two debuts in one show (yes, I’ve got too many people on my roster and I’m debuting more – Geena in defeat to Belle Bryden, and Ekuma saving Jay Chord. We’ll see what happens to them. However, backstage the wrestlers have turned against the backstage rules… despite having no problem with them for a year. Strange. To try a lighten the mood veteran Micky Starr arranged an arcade contest – wheeling in an authentic 80’s machine. Steven Parker brought the beer, and fun was had by all.

Coleman and Speed ringside, Griffith Jumbo Jackson and Shane Sneer. The latter proved that they had earned the art of cheating better, Sneer distracting the ref so that Jackson could deliver a clothesline to Coleman, which shortly led to Griffith delivering a Jack in the Box.

Jack Griffith defeated Al Coleman in 6.26 (D+)

Speed angrily got into the ring but was met with a 2 vs 1 while Coleman was still out… until Art Reed sprinted out from the back to assist. It was not long before Danny Jillefski was out to make it Marc Speed vs Jack Griffith and Artr Reed vs Jumbo Jackson for Stars, Stripes and Slams ©

We cut backstage to Sam’s office where Nicky Champion, Bruce the Giant and Alicia Strong were all with the boss. Sam wished the three of them all the best, so very proud was he of them all tagging together. Alicia asked Sam whether she would be defending her title next week on PPV, and Sam said that he’d let his daughter sort that one out herself (B)

Match #5: T-Rex © vs Freddie Datsun in a non-title match

A relatively short match that I considered making the semi-Main Event. That the two showed no chemistry made me quite happy that I didn’t. Datsun did his best but was simply overpowered, tapping to a Jurassic Crush.

T-Rex defeated Freddie Datsun in 3.54 (C-)

Melody took the mic after the match and declared that even though the odds were stacked against the World Champion next week, no-one had proved capable of defeating him, and she promised that he would remain champion (B-)

We quickly cut backstage where Enygma, Steven Parker, Jumbo Jackson and Shane Sneer was shown. Enygma was telling Parker that he should really be in the Main Event tonight, buthe said that he had to put down a marker against his competitors for the Television / National Title. Parker said that Jackson would do a good job, which Shane Sneer confirmed (B+)

Match #3: Geena vs Joanne Rodriguez

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/GeenaPrincess_alt.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JoanneRodriguez_alt1.jpg

Considering that Geen’a last match was boosted by bonuses, I should not be surprised that this one fell flat. Which is a pity, because the next match will as well. The action was good – no-one cared. J-Ro won with a J-Rocker.

Joanne Rodriguez defeated Geena in 5.53 (D-)

J-Ro demanded a title match, Bryden demanded a title match… it taken take a genius to work out that when Alicia Strong came out it was to announce a Triple Threat match ©

Art Reed and Mark Speed were shown backstage, promising to keep each others backs against Jackson and Griffith ©

Match #4: Ekuma vs Danny Rushmore

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Ekuma.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DannyRushmore.jpg

Two D- rated matches in one show? This one’s going to suck. Rushmore looked confident of dealing with Ekuma after he had saved Jay Chord lastweek, but was shocked by the strength of the man, who in no time delivered a Hawaiian Crush to pick up the upset win!

Ekuma defeated Danny Rushmore in 4.27 (D-)

Better late than never Savage Fury rushed out attempt to beatdown Ekuma… which he did his best at fighting out from, forcing the Tag Champions eventually to leave the ring (C+)

The competitors for the unification of the Television and National Title were out for the next match… and they had a little time on the mic to hype up their chances. Parker was very annoyed by the fact that each of his opponents said that they were going to knock him out of the match first, and almost left in a strop before Andre Jones reminded him that they actually had a match (C-)

Match #5: Mick Muscles and The Force vs Steven Parker and Andre Jones

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/MickMuscles.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JimForce.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/StevenParker.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AndreJones.jpg

Andre Jones and Parker had a hard time working together as a team, while both Muscles and The Force went of periods of domination. Parker turned that around by ripping the cover off a turnbuckle allowed Jones to smash The Force into the exposed metal, dazing the former World Champion. He managed to stagger back into his corner to make the tag but collapsed outside, leaving Mick Muscles to do all of the work. He made a decent fist of it but the numbers counted against him, and in the end he fell to a Future Shock from Steven Parker.

Steven Parker and Andre Jones defeated Mick Muscles and The Force in 10.41 (C+)

Enygma, Jumbo Jackson and Belle Bryden hyped the Main Event – Engyma promising to show that he was the biggest danger to the World Title, Jackson promising to show why he should have a World Title shot, and Bryden promising to get on over Alicia Strong (B)

Match #6: Bruce the Giant, Nicky Champion and Alicia Strong vs Enygma, Jumbo Jackson and Belle Bryden

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BrucetheGiant.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/NickyChampion_alt.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AliciaStrong.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Enygma.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JumboJackson.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BelleBryden.jpg

Quite reliant on this match making up for some previous poor goings on – and we manage one of the best matches in USPW history with a fantastic mix of name value and talent. Clean this match certainly wasn’t, with Steven Paker coming ringside, then Mick Muscles and Andre Jones, then Jack Griffith, then Art & Daniel Reed and Shoot Club, and finally T-Rex. Somewhere along the line the ref got bumped in the mayhem and we just had an almighty brawl (with T-Rex taking out Al Coleman and Daniel Reed) in the ring to end the show.

No contest in 11.45 (B)

Overall Rating C+

BHK1978 gets the win, only missing out on the Ekuma victory (excluding the unfair to pick draw), which was a definate upset.

Well, that Main Event was the third best match in USPW history, which was just as well after the middle of the show. Ekuma showed that either he’s being pushed, Danny Rushmore’s being de-pushed, or a combination of the two.

Oh, Marc Speed takes the video game title away from Micky Starr. He was practising all week.

Captain USA retires. I’ll keep him around for a while as he feels he can make it as either a manager or a colour commentator. We’ll see.

Sorry, no full preview for this one.

Both Jumbo Jackson and Art Reed were ringside for this one, with Art Reed having to enter to ring and physically throw Jackson out. As the two continued to brawl outside Marc Speed applied the Cross Arm breaker, and Griffith was forced to tap.

Marc Speed defeated Jack Griffith in 12.16 ©

Our customary Sam Strong office segment, and he had his daughter, Nicky Champion and Bruce the Giant with him. He said that he didn’t care who took the title off Rex as long as it wasn’t Enygma, and Champion and Bruce said that they’d ensure that it would be one of them. Alicia Strong looked slightly more concerned, having no allies in her match, but Sam reassured her that she had the talent to come out on top (B)

Match #2: Savage Fury © vs Ekuma and Jay Chord for the USPW Tag Team Titles

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Tag.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/TribalWarrior.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Java.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Ekuma.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JayChord.jpg

My once strong Tag Division has slipped recently, with both the challengers having only just debuted in USPW. With one of them being on loan. Suffice to say that they didn’t win, although it took an illegal title belt shot from Tribal Warrior to Ekuma to take him out of the match. Then it was a double team on Jay Chord, and he didn’t stand a chanve.

Savage Fury © defeated Ekuma and Jay Chord in 11.03 to retain the USPW Tag Team Titles (D+)

Savage Fury continued their attack when two large Samoans rushed out from back and went toe to toe with the “Islanders” in the ring, forcing them away. The commentators screamed that was Samoan Destruction. Subtle ©

Marc Speed was shown with the Reed brothers out back, saving that he would be out to ensure that Art’s match was fair, with the former DaVE man saying that they had the numbers on their side, and finally they might force the Sneer Corporation into a fair fight ©

Match #3: Art Reed vs Jumbo Jackson

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/ArtReed.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JumboJackson.jpg

I almost put this as my semi-Main Event, but decided that despite potential results I hadn’t built it up enough. And then the two men showed great chemistry in the ring… but despite being “good” the match wasn’t “excellent”. Perhaps their was too much action ringside, with Jackson nailing Daniel Reed with a huge clothesline. Perhaps it was problems with both Psychology and selling. Nevertheless it was enjoyable, with the ref eventually sending everyone to the back after getting frustrated at all the interference. Jack Griffith dived under the ring, only to emerge when the match re-continued, tripping Art at a vital moment to turn the momentum back in Jackson’s favour, which saw him finish it off with an Avalanche Slam.

Jumbo Jackson defeated Art Reed in 12.02 (C+)

Jack Griffith slid into the ring a celebrated while the ref looked on confused, before turing to the ring announcer. Pre-empting any call Jackson decked the ref, which brought Marc Speed and Daniel Reed out to ensure the Corporation did no more damage (B-)

Melody cut a promo on behalf of her client, who did his best to look menacing. He succeeded. Melody claimed that although the Main Event was unfair on her man, with Bruce and Nicky Champion teaming up against him, he would not be stopped. She said it would take more than three men to stop the World Champion – odds not even Sam Strong could put against him (B-)

Match #4: Alicia Strong © vs Belle Bryden vs Joanne Rodriguez for the USPW Women’s Title

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Womens.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AliciaStrong.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BelleBryden.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JoanneRodriguez_alt1.jpg

Well, this one ended up being too long a women’s match to keep some part of the crowd entertained, but everyone else saw a pretty decent contest which had Alicia Strong battling against two competitors who seemed hell bent on taking the title off her. J-Ro a little too much, as after she hit Strong with a J-Rocker Belle Bryden rolled her up, and managed a three count to take the title belt!

Belle Bryden defeated Alicia Strong © and Joanne Rodriguez in 13.59 to win the USPW Women’s Title (C-)

Backstage and Enygma and Steven Parker cut a joint promo, saying that they had a clean sweep of the Championships so far – and would make sure that the rest of USPW’s title joined them by the end of the night. That brought The Force and Andre Jones over, pointing out that Alicia Strong had made a mistake – and that was making too many enemies. A mistake that Steven Parker had also made. The youngster laughed off the threat, telling his opponents that they may as well lie down for him, as there was only one destination for the unified belts – his waist (B-)

Match # 5: Des Davids vs Danny Rushmore

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DesDavids.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DannyRushmore.jpg

Bonus match! It’s unannounced, with no build up, and a lack of chemistry! Yay! Danny Rushmore tried to get back on form after defeat to Ekuma, but fell to a Quarterback Sack.

Des Davids defeated Danny Rushmore in 5.52 (D+)

Backstage, and it was Steven Parker again. Really, is he going to be the focus of this whole show? He shared a kiss with the new Women’s Champion Belle Bryden before promising to make it a championship say for both of them. As they kissed again Mick Muscles cleared his throat, and apologised for breaking up the party. He announced that he ahd only just won his title, and he wasn’t giving it up to anybody, so the two lovebird had better postpone their night of passion. Bryden asked Parker if he was going to allow them to be spoken to like that, which caused Parker to pause. Lacking a witty response to Muscles, he said that he was going to the ring, and would teach Muscles a lesson (B-)

Match #6: Mick Muscles © vs Andre Jones © vs The Force vs Steven Parker for the USPW Unified Belt

Probably the correct semi-Main Event from a storyline point of view – not from a ratings point of view. I really need to put more effort to get back into the habit of running dual Main Events. This match was four corners elimination, which Parker refused to start in the ring. The Force quickly tagged him in, to Parker’s annoyance, and it was not long before he tagged out to Andre Jones, who started to go after Muscles before stopping, and pointing at Parker. The Future looked on confused but Mick Muscles smiled and tagged him in with a huge slap… which was emphasised by picking up Parker and suplexing him into the ring!

Fortunately for Parker he was eventually able to tag back out, and had a good excuse in collapsing ringside, unable to tag back in. The first to be eliminated was the Television Champion, Andre Jones, who fell to a Full Force. Immediately afterwards Steven Parker made a miraculous recovery to roll up The Force, and although that former World Champion kicked out he was unable to tag out, and fell to a Full Force. That left us with Mick Muscles vs Steven Parker, with Parker getting the upper hand with a kick to the crotch as the ref made sure The Force left. He made several pin attempts on Muscles but could not put him down, before finally going for a Future Shock. Mick Muscles powered out a hit a Bulldozer Powerbomb, before making the pin to win the Unified Belt.

Mick Muscles © defeated Steven Parker, The Force and Andre Jones © in 17.14 to win the USPW Unified Belt ©

Bruce the Giant was shown backstage ready to go to the ring, when he noticed Enygma. He commented on how his team had failed in the clean sweep, which didn’t seem to phase Enygma – he said it was all abut the World Championship. He brightened and turned to Bruce to say that Melody was right about one thing – T-Rex alone was dangerous, and they should all team up on him. That brought Nicky Champion over laughing, asked if Enygma was proposing an alliance. Enygma looked Nicky Champion straight in the eye and said that maybe they didn’t need him to deal with T-Rex – but how did he propose to deal with Bruce the Giant when it came down to it (B+)?

Match #7: T-Rex © vs Nicky Champion vs Bruce the Giant vs Enygma for the USPW World Championship

Ah… turns out this PPV was worth watching for the angles. Nothing too bad, but it’s really not the standard of PPV matches that I’m aiming to put on. Perhaps too much had to be done to protect certain worker’s weaknesses. Perhaps it was the alliances slowing getting blurred as everyone started looking after number one as they got further into the match, particularly after Bruce the Giant broke up a Nicky Champion pin attempt on Enygma. Who knows. However, T-Rex was a major focus of attention, slowly being worn down to the point that the commentary team suggested that perhaps another title retention was beyond the monster. And it was to be – Enygma applied an Enygma Variation on the champion, but Bruce the Giant broke it up, and the fight between the two took both men over the ropes. That left Champion and T-Rex to exchange blows, and T-Rex trying to apply the Crush. A few elbows from Champion broke that up and he went straight into a Hawk Eye Hammer, delivering the move and making the pin before anyone could re-enter the ring and break it up.

Nicky Champion defeated T-Rex ©, Bruce the Giant and Enygma in 16.14 to win the USPW World Championship (C+)

Given that Nicky Champion is USPW golden boy and it’s been quite an effort for him to take the title off T-Rex we ran an overblown title celebration for the youngster… which the crowd applauded to a man (A)

Overall Rating B-

Buyrate 0.78

2/6 from both the predictions? I'm slightly worried that they say something about my booking skills that is not good - and may also say something about my perceived love for T-Rex.

Two title runs come to an end – Alicia Strong dropping the Women’s Championship to Belle Bryden on the day that Nicky Champion finally takes the World Championship off T-Rex. Actually, three come to an end as Andre Jones drops the Television Title to Mick Muscles as well, technically. Mick Muscles and Nicky Champion join The Force as the only three men in USPW history to hold the Television, National and World Title

And yes, another debut. Samoan Destrction Inc have been doing dark matches for a while (and got in the Top 100 wrestlers list, no thanks to me), and at least make a debut against… Savage Fury. Hmmm. A five year old could book this.

Well I was actually going to pick BTG to win the title but I changed my mind at the last minute. I was wrong either way so it is a moot point...

Bruce the Giant vs Harley Neill

Raven Robinson vs Joanne Rodriguez

The People’s Team vs T-Rex and Danny Rushmore

Nicky Champion, Mick Muscles and The Force vs Steven Parker and Savage Fury

Nice trying to stick Steven Parker on a team with utter crap.:D

Art Reed vs Enygma

I see Enygma as a main eventer, while Art is more a mid-card/tag team guy.

Okay, so I had to take a mini-hiatus, but I got back into playing this game so this diary is back alive! I'm actually a couple of months further on but will endevour to catch. So, after a two month break, it's USPW American Wrestling!

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW.jpg

USPW American Wrestling:

Live from the South East

Pre-Show: Kicks From Hell, Pain and Dark Disciple defeated Darryl Devine, Nightfox, Al Coleman and Johnny Stones (D)

The show opened with Sam Strong presenting Nicky Champion with the USPW World Championship, which he took to the cheers of the crowd. He was aloud a small thank you speech before T-Rex was out, flanked but Melody, demanding the agreed rematch. Sam said that as it was only 15 days from USPW Red, White and Blue, it only seemed fitting that the rematch should happen there on PPV (B)

Match #1: Bruce the Giant vs Harley Neill

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BrucetheGiant.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/HarleyNeill.jpg

My roster is bloated, and I’m strongly contemplating cutting Harley Neill. However, he’s not bad stats wise (although not stunning), so I’ve decided to give him a match or two to see how he performs. Although here he was being dominated by Bruce.

Bruce the Giant defeated Harley Neill in 2.44 (D)

We cut backstage to Enygma and Steven Parker, who were both bemoaning the fact that they considered themselves cheated out of titles last week – Steven Parker adding that Andre Jones had also been given the first shot at Mick Muscles’ Unified Belt next week. Belle Bryden reminded them that the night wasn’t a complete loss as she took the Women’s Title off Alicia Strong, but that didn’t seem to perk up her two male colleagues too much to her annoyance ©

J-Ro came out for her match, and quickly took a mic to claim that she could have won the Women’s Title last week, and promised to get another title shot (D+)

Match #2: Raven Robinson vs Joanne Rodriguez

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/RavenNightfall_alt2.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JoanneRodriguez_alt1.jpg

And J-Ro’s way of getting another title shot was to lose to Raven Robinson. Okay then.

Raven Robinson defeated Joanne Rodriguez in 7.23 (D+)

As the match ended Travis Century came out and said something about the finer beauties of the world that were leading other astray, which brought confused looks from Robinson and J-Ro. Century promised that the world would see, before returning backstage. Odd (D+)

Alicia Strong was shown apologising to her father for losing the USPW Women’s Title, which Sam just laughed at. He told Alicia that every time he won a title in his career it ended the same way – he lost it. You just have to get yourself back together and go for it again. He also reminded her that she had her contractual rematch at Red, White and Blue, before telling her daughter to chin up – defeat was part of the game (B)

Marc Speed was shown storming into the Sneer Corporation’s locker-room and calling Jack Griffith a disgrace. Jackson immediately cut him off, asking what Speed was on about. Speed called Griffith a back-stabbing coward for costing Art Reed his match last week after having already lost, to which Shane Sneer piped in saying that was just part of the game. At that point Daniel Reed came in to drag Marc Speed away, telling him that his brother could fight his own battles ©

Match #3: The People’s Team vs T-Rex and Danny Rushmore

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/FreddieDatsun.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DesDavids.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/T-Rex_alt1.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DannyRushmore.jpg

After Danny Rushmore’s defeat to Des Davids T-Rex did most of the work here – something he was well capable of, smahing his way to victory with an Extinction on Freddie Datsun.

T-Rex and Danny Rushmore defeated The People’s Team in 5.57 (C-)

After the match T-Rex shoved The People’s Team out of the ring, before turning round and clotheslining Danny Rushmore as he came into the ring ©

Backstage and Micky Starr introduced Sam Strong to Samoan Destruction Inc. He said that they were old friends of Ekuma, and had a glowing reputation as the most destructive team from the islands, something Sam said Savage Fury might have a thing of two to ask about. Micky laughed, telling him that Savage Fury wouldn’t know what hit them, and Enygma’s allies would start falling down around him (C+)

Nicky Champion, Mick Muscles and The Force came down to the ring, with The Force congratulating his two colleagues on joining him as the only men in USPW to win three different singles belt. Steven Parker came out to declare that The Force’s reigns shouldn’t count – afterall, they were back in the day when USPW was some backyard promotion that no-one cared about. He then turned to Mick Muscles, thought, and then said that he also couldn’t remember his World Title reign. Finally he turned to Nicky Champion and said that his title reign would be the shortest reign ever, so would also be completely forgettable (C+)

Match #4: Nicky Champion, Mick Muscles and The Force vs Steven Parker and Savage Fury

Wow, I thought this match was going to suck, but actually turned out to be a pretty decent encounter. The Force found himself in the unusual position of having to play the face in distress at the hands of Savage Fury, a role he played quite well. As always, any face in distress is followed by the hot tag, and it was Nicky Champion who put over, putting away Java with a Hawkeye Hammer.

Nicky Champion, Mick Muscles and The Force defeated Steven Parker and Savage Fury in 11.42 (B-)

As Nicky Champion celebrated Savage Fury knocked the World Champion down from behind. He was soon on his feet to defend himself but Samoan Destruction Inc were also out, causing Savage Fury to quickly leave (C+)

Art Reed was first out for the Main Event with his cousin Daniel, followed by Engyma… who took the opportunity to smash Daniel in the face before sliding into the ring and going after Art (C-)

Match #5: Art Reed vs Enygma

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/ArtReed.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Enygma.jpg

Art was furious at the attack on his colleague and quickly rallied, before the match swung one way to another. These are two of the top talents in USPW, and the performance they put on almost made up for the first of the show, which was frankly quite poor. In the end Enygma got the win here, deleting the Enygma Cutter to Reed.

Enygma defeated Art Reed in 14.22 (B)

Overall Rating C+

If you’re watching the show on repeat – tune in for the last half an hour. That’s when all the action happened. Including our fifth best match ever for the Main Event. Samoan Machine is quickly getting people liked backstage, with stories of John Pathlow’s more embarrassing moments in Japanese wrestling.

Meanwhile, Seduction signs a new deal (hmmm, I should bring her back sometime), while Hooded Kudo retires and enters the Hall of Immortals. Finally Mammoth opens Canadian Women’s Wrestling Federation, and I wish him luck – as I may steal his talent.

If anyone wonders why I’m pushing Mick Muscles at the moment – he got five individual plusses in the dirt sheet. ‘Nough said. And despite putting in a decent performance Andre Jones wasn’t getting the win here, as I actually have other plans for him (unlike most of my roster who my plans are severely lacking), and Muscles made it through his first defence courtesy of a Bulldozer powerbomb.

Mick Muscles © defeated Andre Jones in 9.02 to retain the USPW Unified Belt ©

Steven Parker came out applauding, before pointing out that Andre Jones wasn’t Mick Muscles biggest threat – he wasn’t the last man left in the Unified Elimination bout last month. He said that this man was him – and his defeat was a fluke. Parker demanded a one on one match at Red, White and Blue, and Mick Muscles accepted the challenge, saying that he would be honoured to pin the youngster once more (B-)

We went backstage to Sam’s office, and for once it was just Bruce the Giant in with him… until Enygma showed up. He declared that as requested he was here, to which Sam proceeded to admonish the masked man for the unwarranted attack on Daniel Reed last week. Enygma looked as bored as you can in a mask, until Sam stopped and Enygma asked him if he was finished. Enygma said that Sam thought that he could do what he liked, while trying to control true talent like himself. He said that he was part of a wrestling organisation, where if you couldn’t fight, you should be out. Enygma declared that he did Daniel a favour last week, showing him that if wasn’t prepared he shouldn’t be in the business – and he would make sure anyone else unprepared did not remain. Sam tried to protest but Enygma cut him off, before turning to Bruce and calling him a disgrace – sacrificing his chance at the World Title by taking him out. He refused to listen to anything else they had to say, and promptly left the office (B+)

Match #2: Samoan Destruction Inc vs Kicks From Hell

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/SamoanMachine.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/RhinoUmaga.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/HellMonkey_alt2-1.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JaredJohnson.jpg

Hmmm, I’m a little disappointed with this one. Sure, no-one in the ring was that well known, but there was some serious in ring talent. Any Japanese viewers would have been disgusted at the watered down show that they saw, which ended in Jared Johnson tapping to an Unbreakable Sleeper.

Samoan Destruction Inc defeated Kicks From Hell in 6.20 (D+)

After the match – Savage Fury attack! We went for a remarkable display of no selling as the two team unloaded on one another, before finally a team of backstage staff (and Ekuma) split the two sides up (C+)

Match #3: The People’s Team vs London Rebels

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/FreddieDatsun.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DesDavids.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DannyPatterson-1.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/HarleyNeill.jpg

The ****ney Rebels of Danny Patterson and Harley Neill get a new name for obvious reasons. Patterson makes his TV debut but was given little time in the ring before Neill was pinned by Davids. And I didn’t give you a chance to predict that match as it was purely a time filler that wasn’t originally planned.

The People’s Team defeated London Rebels in 4.02 (D)

Nicky Champion came out for what will be his only appearance of the night, finishing off his thanks to the fans that he was cut off from making last week before calling out T-Rex. Champion suggested that they both had warm up matches next week, against an opponent of each others choosing. Rex seemed to like that idea, and we might actually see Champion wrestle next week (B+)

Match #4: Belle Bryden © vs Raven Robinson in a non-title match

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BelleBryden.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/RavenNightfall_alt2.jpg

Alicia Strong was on commentary, but there was confusion when Travis Century was out flanked by Pain and Dark Disciple. Century took a mic and said that Raven Robinson was the beauty leading other astray, which led to the confused woman leaving the ring and confronting Century. Which got her counted out.

Belle Bryden defeated Raven Robinson in 5.01 by count out ©

Robinson angrily turned around to Century after realising she had been counted out and asked if he was happy. Century just shook his head and said that he was never happy – he and his warriors could always find wrong in the world – always find those who were making the world a worse place. Robinson asked if they were talking about her, with Cenury responding that she needed to take a good, hard look at herself, before promptly leaving ©

The girls looked on confused before Alicia thanked the commentary team for having her – and promised the nexttime she sat with them it would be as Women’s Champion (C+)

Match #5: Marc Speed and Art Reed vs Jack Griffith and Jumbo Jackson

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/MarcSpeed.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/ArtReed.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JumboJackson.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JackGriffith.jpg

My upper-midcard (although Jackson is a Main Eventer) is starting to deliver the goods, this match definitely a grade higher than I was expecting. It also shoed Art Reed getting a win back after last week, although it was his partner Jack Griffith who submitted Griffith.

Marc Speed and Art Reed defeated Jack Griffith and Jumbo Jackson in 11.50 (B-)

Shane Sneer took a mic and said that he had a proposition for Marc Speed – a match with Jumbo Jackson at Red White and Blue. Speed accepted which made Sneer smile, declaring that his submission moves would be useless against a giant like Jackson, and he would find himself without any effective weapons (B-)

The Force came out to hype up the Main Event… ‘cause that’s what he’s good at (B)

Match #6: The Force vs Enygma

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JimForce.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Enygma.jpg

Ah – this one did not go to plan. The match was the worst that Enygma’s had since he fought complete unknown Daniel Reed. It just didn’t work – didn’t keep the crowd interested, and didn’t really last too long before Enygma made The Force tap.

Enygma defeated The Force in 6.39 ©

After the match Enygma took a mic to declare how easy it was for him to get his own way – he could destroy who he wanted, when he wanted. He declared that he wanted to add another to the list and leapt over the announce table to deliver an Enygma Cutter to Micky Starr into the table, to shocked gasps from the crowd. Steve Smith backed up as Steve Smith backed up anxiously, before Bruce the Giant came out to protect the announce team (A)

Overall Rating C+

4/5 all the way - Art Reed and Marc Speed pulling out what was obviously an unexpected victory from the viewers point of view.

Eugh – that’s another poor Main Event this year – a dangerous habit that I’ve got to get out of. Micky Starr being smashed face first into the announce table is the last we’re going to see of him, having chosen this opportunity to leave the industry. Captain USA also diversifies, becoming colour commentator at CWWF. I’ll see how he does, but for USPW it’ll be Danny Jillefski back behind the desk.

USPW American Wrestling:

Live from the Mid South

Pre-Show: Danny Rushmore and Jared Johnson defeated Findlay and Johnny Stones (D), Pain squashed Bob Casey (D-). Well, that’s killed the crowd…

Sam Strong opened the show actually in the ring, but as always with Bruce the Giant at his side. He declared he was absolutely disgusted at Enygma’s action towards his great friend Micky Starr last week, action that reminded him of Enygma’s attach on himself six months earlier – an attack he was still suffering the consequences off. That brought Enygma out with Steven Parker, telling Sam that it wasn’t just him that was suffering the consequences of his action – it was the entire USPW. However, the only reason it was suffering was because Sam refused to do what was best – and that was leave USPW. The boss said this wasn’t any reason to attack people, but Enygma asked what he was going to do about it, and Sam said he could do plenty – firstly Enygma and Steven Parker would team up to face Bruce the Giant and Mick Muscles in the Main Event – and then tomorrow Enygma would face Bruce the Giant one on one (B)

Match #1: Al Coleman and Daniel Reed vs Jack Griffith and Jumbo Jackson

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AlColeman.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DanielFrancis.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JackGriffith.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JumboJackson.jpg

For those wondering Danny Jillefski is back in the announce booth with Steve Smith. The Sneer Corporation have been having problems with Marc Speed and Art Reed recently – so they took their anger out on their tag team partners. Despite a good showing from Reed Coleman took a Jumbo Avalanche from Jackson to take the defeat.

Jack Griffith and Jumbo Jackson defeated Al Coleman and Daniel Reed in 4.56 ©

After the match Marc Speed and Art Reed came out – Speed to hype his match with Jumbo Jackson, Art to challenge Griffith to find a partner to face him and his cousin tomorrow ©

Nicky Champion was shown backstage next to The People’s Team, asking Des Davids if he still wanted to face T-Rex tonight. Davids said that he had been waiting for his chance to face the monster, and would not back down an inch (B+)

Match #2: Alicia Strong vs Cherry Bomb

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AliciaStrong.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/CherryBomb_alt2.jpg

I can always rely on this to be a decent match – but anyone thinking that Cherry Bomb was going to take the win was mistaken, Strong hitting an Angel Driver for the victory.

Alicia Strong defeated Cherry Bomb in 6.54 ©

Travis Century came out to berate the women in the ring, telling them that they should not disgrace themselves infront of others. That brought Raven Robinson out to challenge Travis Century as to what his problem was, and he just swung his arm around, asking why she didn’t see it. Finally out was Belle Bryden, telling Century that all anyone saw was people lining up to try and take her title – everyone was trying to be like her. And they would all fail (D+)

Melody and T-Rex were shown entering Enygma’s locker-room, with Melody making a proposal that she knew he couldn’t refuse. She asked for a volunteer to beat around Sam’s favourite boy in the ring tonight, and Enygma agreed that it was an offer he wasn’t going to ignore. He turned to Savage Fury with Java eagerly stepping up for the match (B)

Match #3: Nightfox vs John Pathlow

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/FoxMask_black.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/HellMonkey_alt2-1.jpg

Two men who don’t get much action, so I told them to go out there and tear it up. Surprisingly it was Nightfox who reacted to the pressure better, but it was Pathlow who picked up the win with the Hell Fire Kick.

John Pathlow defeated Nightfox in 6.35 (C-)

Des Davids came to the ring and accused T-Rex of dodging him – having not met in one on one in the last year. Honest (B-)

Match #4: Des Davids vs T-Rex

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DesDavids.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/T-Rex_alt1.jpg

Des Davids gave a decent performance here, but just couldn’t quite match the physicality of the former World Champion. Davids did manage to resist any attempt to apply the Jurassic Crush, so T-Rex switched to a nasty looking Extinction to take the match.

T-Rex defeated Des Davids in 6.57 (C-)

Java came out for his match with Tribal Warrior by his side… so Samoan Destruction Inc and Ekuma were out to more than even up the odds. Which also allowed the announced team to say that the newer Samoan team had been given a title shot. Geez, them and Jay Chord getting thrown shots just like that – it doesn’t take much any more, does it ©?

Match #5: Nicky Champion © vs Java in a non-title match

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/NickyChampion_alt.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Java.jpg

A little bit of an issue with a lack of selling, but I was very happy with the result of this match. Java looked a threat in singles action, and the amount of people ringside certainly added to things. But in the Champion was never going to lose, eventually hitting a Hawk Eye Hammer for the victory.

Nicky Champion defeated Java in 9.24 (C+)

There threatened to be a brawl ringside when Enygma came out with Parker to call off Savage Fury. He said there was plenty of opportunity to do damage, and they would do it on his terms (B)

Match #6: Bruce the Giant and Mick Muscles vs Enygma and Steven Parker

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BrucetheGiant.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/MickMuscles.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Enygma.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/StevenParker.jpg

Holy…. Okay, there’s some top talent in the ring who are all being pushed at the moment, but with my attempt to try and keep everyone looking good I predicted a slight disappointment. Which this match mostly certainly wasn’t. Mick Muscles is not letting me down at all, while Steven Parker is also showing that his luck in teaming with Enygma just quickened his inevitable rise to the top of the card. Great match, and after Parker drop-kicked Bruce over the top rope Muscles was left exposed to Engyma, falling to an Enygma Cutter.

Enygma and Steven Parker defeated Bruce the Giant and Mick Muscles in 9.43 (B)

As our pre-PPV show final match hadn’t ended hyping tomorrow’s Main Event we ran a video package instead, showing for the first time on non-PPV Nicky Champion winning the World Championship. Tune in tomorrow to see his first defence (B+)!!

Overall Rating C+

C+!?! Whatever. In my mind that was a great show – one of my better TV shows in all. It did see my fourth best match of all time as well.

Gorgon’s turn to keep people happy backstage, while Bob Casey found a shared interest with Sam Strong. Thank goodness that didn’t become a relationship.

Marc Speed vs Jumbo Jackson

Marc Speed has had issues with the Sneer Corporation over the last few weeks, and was happy to get signed up to a match with Jumbo Jackson. Shane Sneer has claimed that his monster is impregnable to Speed’s submission moves, but the USPW youngster is bound to try and prove him wrong.

Art & Daniel Reed vs Jack Griffith and ???

Last month Jack Griffith cost Art Reed victory over Jumbo Jackson, and the two get to go at it here in tag team action. We know Art will be joined by his cousin Daniel, but Jack Griffith’s partner is still a mystery – could there be a new member for the Corporation?

Mick Muscles © vs Steven Parker for the USPW Unified Belt

Steven Parker always considered himself the favourite to win the USPW Unified Title, and has gone through every excuse he could find for not winning it. Now he gets the chance to rectify the situation, but Mick Muscles has looked strong as a champion so far, and will be in no mood to relinquish his title.

Belle Bryden © vs Alicia Strong for the USPW Women’s Title

Alicia Strong gets her rematch against Belle Bryden, who defeated her for the World Title. Since then Alicia Strong has been doing her best to stand up for the Women’s Division, and would like nothing more than to quickly reclaim the title.

Savage Fury © vs Samoan Destruction Inc for the USPW Tag Team Titles

Samoan Destruction Inc have only recently debuted in USPW, but have had a dominant impact so far. They also have the advantage of knowing the game of the Tag Title holders inside out, and this must be considered their sternest challenge since winning the title belts last year.

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BrucetheGiant.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Enygma.jpg

Bruce the Giant vs Enygma

Enygma blames Bruce the Giant for not being able to win the USPW World Championship last week, and is eager to remove his opponent from the title picture. However, the two have met several times recently, with Bruce coming out on top more often than not, and he’ll be doing his best to ensure that he gets the next World Title shot.

Nicky Champion © vs T-Rex for the USPW World Championship

Last month Nicky Champion finally ended the World Championship reign of T-Rex, fulfilling the promise of the last few years. Since then T-Rex has been focussed on one thing only – reclaiming the title – and all the pent up rage will be unleashed at Red, White and Blue. The question is, can Nicky Champion survive it?
