Announced for USPW American Wrestling:

Team Sublime © vs Shoot Club for the USPW Tag Team Titles

I see no reason for the tag team titles to change hands on a show thats not a pay per view.

April Appleseed vs Joanne Rodriguez

Chris Caulfield vs Jared Johnson

The People’s Team vs The Towers of Power

James Justice vs T-Rex

Enygma vs Jack Griffith

Andre Jones as a double champion? I like the idea, I am a fan of Andre character (well if one can be a fan of a fictional video game character) and I always like to see him do good.

Team Sublime © vs Shoot Club for the USPW Tag Team Titles

No way, no how are the titles going to change that quickly.

April Appleseed vs Joanne Rodriguez

Chris Caulfield vs Jared Johnson

The People’s Team vs The Towers of Power

I think that the People's Team will get a rebound victory here.

Match #1: Team Sublime © vs Shoot Club for the USPW Tag Team Titles

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Tag.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DarrylDevine_alt1.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AndreJones.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/MarcSpeed.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AlColeman.jpg

Getting a decent match from this contest showed what a disappointment Americana was, and how I really need to elevate some genuine talent to the Main Event. Devine pinned Coleman here.

Team Sublime © defeated Shoot Club in 5.44 to retain the USPW Tag Team Titles (C-)

After the match Seduction declared that she wanted Team Sublime to be double, double champions… and that meant she wanted Darryl Devine to challenge for the National Title. Nicky Champion came out to agree to the match on one condition – a future shot at the tag titles. A confident Seduction was happy to agree the terms (D+)

Sam Strong appeared backstage in his office, with Savage Fury on either side. He declared his anger at T-Rex and Jack Griffith interfering in the Main Event at Americana – and even worse they brought in Peter Valentine and Giant Redwood. He declared the latter two were banned from the building tonight, while Rex and Griffith would have to face two of the premier talents in USPW – Enygma and James Justice (B-)

Match #2: April Appleseed vs Joanne Rodriguez

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AprilAppleseed.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JoanneRodriguez_alt1.jpg

Geez, I really need to start using J-Ro properly. One of the worst women’s matches I’ve delivered, although it was a straight forward win for diva Rodriguez.

Joanne Rodriguez defeated April Appleseed in 4.02 (D-)

After the match Raven Robinson slid into the ring and hit the Raven Effect on J-Ro, leaving the commentary team to speculate that perhaps J-Ro had cost the former champion her title once too often. No, no-one liked this segment (E)

We raised the interest level with Jack Griffith and The Titans cutting an interview on Sam Strong, telling him that they would not be controlled, and any attempt to do so would result in serious damage being caused (B+)

Match #3: Chris Caulfield vs Jared Johnson

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/ChrisCaulfield_alt1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JaredJohnson.jpg

In a match that proves that JJ is lucky to be teaming with John Pathlow at the moment, Caulfield destroyed the less distinguished half of Kicks From Hell, finishing him with a Danger Drop.

Chris Caulfield defeated Jared Johnson in 3.47 (D+)

Caulfield took a mic after the match and demanded that Jumbo Jackson came out… a call that was not responded to. Caulfield declared that if he wasn’t going to come to him, he was just going to have to find him himself (B-)

The People’s Team came out for their match, with Freddie Datsun reminding Team Sublime that they had their compulsory rematch for the Tag Team Titles, so they need to be careful about banding around title shots (D+)

Match #4: The People’s Team vs The Towers of Power

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/FreddieDatsun.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DesDavids.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DannyRushmore.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/MickMuscles.jpg

Wow, impressive match. True, the two top teams in my tag division, but I’ve learnt not to expect too much. Des Davis got the pinfall after a Quarterback Sack on Danny Rushmore.

The People’s Team defeated The Towers of Power in 6.40 ©

As The People’s Team headed out back, Chris Caulfield stormed to the ring and started destroying The Towers of Power. They were left littering the ring when Jumbo Jackson appeared on the screen, outside the building, sledgehammer in hand. Ritual car destroying ensured, before Jackson leapt into his car and sped off as Caulfield made it outside (C+)

Match #5: James Justice vs T-Rex

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Liberty.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/T-Rex_alt1.jpg

Sam Strong joined the commentary team, and had to physically restrain Jack Griffith when he came out to try to interject himself in the match. A fight broke out between the two that had to be split up by Savage Fury, but it allowed Tyson Baine to enter through the crowd and hit a Hades Bomb on Justice. An obvious, DQ, but The Titans didn’t seem to mind.

James Justice defeated T-Rex in 7.08 by DQ ©

T-Rex locked in the Jurassic Crush on Justice while Baine joined the ringside fight, bloodying Savage Fury. Security flooded out and Sam Strong demanded that everyone left except Griffith, who still had to face Enygma. Sam added that if either of The Titans interfered, who would have no hesitation of stripping Baine of his title (B+)

Match #6: Enygma vs Jack Griffith

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Enygma.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JackGriffith.jpg

A decent contest, with Jillefski pointing out that Griffith was at a disadvantage having already been involved in a fight, but Micky Starr adding that he only had himself to blame for that. The Titans were not out, but we did have the unexpected appearance of Peter Valentine and Giant Redwood. However, Enygma fought them off frantically before hitting the Enygma Cutter on Griffith for the victory.

Enygma defeated Jack Griffith in 13.21 (C+)

Despite the victory a 3 on 1 beatdown started on Enygma…which was quickly ended by Bruce the Giant “rushing” from out back to destroy Valentine and Redwood. Griffith beckoned out T-Rex and Tyson Baine, but Bruce the Giant went toe to toe with them, forcing them away, and leaving the Giant victorious alone in the ring (A)

Overall Rating C

6/6 for BHK1978 and TakerNGN74, showing that Russo hasn't quite taken over USPW yet.

A little disappointed by the show rating, but very happy with how the show went (although it was the highest C rating I’ve ever had (9th best show), so can’t have missed out on a C+ by that much). I’ll admit, when I said I had the Main Event of the next PPV planned for month it did not involve Bruce the Giant. I think I may be changing my plans. He has now officially turned face, after gaining fan support in recent weeks. A face turn was always planned for him… however, it was originally going to happen in a completely different way.

The Main Event, Enygma versus Jack Griffith, goes down as my second best match ever, after Caulfield versus Mick Muscles. Matches like that allow a 6 month PPV contract extension with American Option. One day, I might even put on these matches on PPV.

Bruce the Giant vs Peter Valentine

Anger and The Hillbillys vs T-Rex

While Anger and The Hillbillys is one of the greatest teamings in the history of the board, I still think that T-Rex will win.

Alicia Strong vs Joanne Rodriguez

The People’s Team vs Jack Griffith

Nicky Champion © vs Darryl Devine for the USPW National Title

I think that Nicky might become the double champion as he will win here and then choose a partner and they will win the gold.

*Now we return to your normal, scheduled programming, slightly delayed by the FIFA World Cup*

USPW American Wrestling:

Live from the Mid West

Pre-Show: Belle Bryden defeated April Appleseed and Cherry Bomb (C-), Chris Caulfield, The Force and Shoot Club defeated The Towers of Power and Kicks From Hell (C-)

Still ensuring that missing the pre-show is a bad idea

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/SamStrong.jpg

Sam Strong came out to start the show… the first time we’ve not had a match or video start the show for a while. He announced that tonight was the night where he takes control back of USPW. As such, T-Rex, Jack Griffith and Tyson Baine will all be competing in handicap matches tonight. Furthermore, any interference by any of them tonight would result in Tyson Baine having the USPW World Title stripped from him (B+)!

Match #1: Bruce the Giant vs Peter Valentine

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BrucetheGiant.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/PeterValentine.jpg

Short, to the point, but with little selling. Bruce dominated, and put Valentine away with a Giant Choke Slam.

Bruce the Giant defeated Peter Valentine in 3.46 (D)

Giant Redwood made the mistake of jumping Bruce the Giant after the match. Not his best plan. He took another Giant Choke Slam (B-)

As Bruce the Giant left T-Rex came out for his match, and the two went for a tense stand-off, both flexing and posturing. Although, surprisingly, not fighting (A)

Match #2: Anger and The Hillbillys vs T-Rex

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DemonAnger.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/PeteTheHillbilly.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AlTheHillbilly.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/T-Rex_alt1.jpg

T-Rex showed that the three men put in front of him were no match for him, not giving an inch as he turned from one to another to destroy. Anger and Al were forced from the ring, allowing T-Rex to break out The Extinction for Pete the Hillbilly.

T-Rex defeated Anger and The Hillbilly in 4.34 (D-)

Next up was a video package, with Shane Sneer and Jumbo Jackson introducing slow motion footage of Jackson destroying Caulfield’s ride the previous week. Sneer said that there would be more to come from his client if they stepped in the ring together, with Jackson saying that Caulfield would end up looking even worse than his car. Their smugness came from the fact that they weren’t at the arena this week, and were safe from Caulfield’s grasp (C+)

Match #3: Alicia Strong vs Joanne Rodriguez

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AliciaStrong.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JoanneRodriguez_alt1.jpg

The first meeting of the two in USPW…possibly ever? So not built up as well as it should have been done at all. Gorgon accompanied J-Ro, but when she got into an argument with the ref that was designed to allow J-Ro to play dirty, it just allowed Raven Robinson to enter the ring undetected and hit a Raven Effect on her. Simple win for Strong after that.

Alicia Strong defeated Joanne Rodriguez in 7.01 (D+)

Raven Robinson cut a quick promo telling J-Ro that her singles record was not looking good at USPW – in fact, the only was she’s made an impact is by joining with Gorgon. She challenged J-Ro to one more singles match – a match with her that would truly show her up (D+)

Chris Caulfield cut an interview backstage, having calmed down since from the previous week. He said that he had accepted events, and for now, he wasn’t going to let it worry him. However – when he saw Jumbo Jackson that would change. Then, the red mist would descend, and Jackson had better make sure he has taken care of all his outstanding affairs (B-)

Jack Griffith was shown backstage, shouting that he refused to go out. When Savage Fury turned up, telling Griffith that they had instructions form the boss to make sure he appeared in the ring, he relented and headed to the ring (B-)

Match #4: The People’s Team vs Jack Griffith

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/FreddieDatsun.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DesDavids.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JackGriffith.jpg

Jack Griffith sandbagged this one a bit… which was bad timing for him, as I need to make a choice very shortly about where I see him on the card. He was able to hold his own against the former Tag Champions, but was worn down and fell to a Quarterback Sack from Davids.

The People’s Team defeated Jack Griffith in 6.56 (C-)

The People’s Team’s celebration was cut off by the appearance of the Tag Champions, Team Sublime. Darryl Devine told The People’s Team to make way for the champs – that would shortly be holding four title belts in USPW ©

Match #5: Nicky Champion © vs Darryl Devine for the USPW National Title

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_National.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/NickyChampion_alt.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DarrylDevine_alt1.jpg

Nuts – I made a late decision to swap this with the preceding match, but could have made it work either way. A decent, even contest which didn’t quite set the crowd alive like I hoped it would. The People’s Team made a reappearance, joining commentary before Des Davids marked out Andre Jones. This distraction was the difference, allowing Champion to hit the Hawkeye Hammer on Devine.

Nicky Champion © defeated Darryl Devine in 8.42 to retain the USPW National Title (D+)

Paige Croft carried out a pre-Main Event interview, with Enygma and James Justice. Both men said that Baine had this coming to him – now he would find out what fighting off multiple opponents was like (B)

Match #6: Enygma and James Justice vs Tyson Baine

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Enygma.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Liberty.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/TysonBaine.jpg

Tyson Baine made a strong start, but quick tags between Enygma and James Justice put him on his back foot. Jack Griffith came out… and joined the commentary team. Micky Starr challenged Griffith’s appearance, but he said he was doing nothing wrong – he wasn’t interfering, he was just commentating. Sam Strong was soon out, and the two got into an argument… which was ended when T-Rex attacked Strong from behind. Bruce the Giant made the save, just at the point Tyson Baine was rallying. The champion couldn’t resist joining his colleagues against Bruce, ignoring the count out defeat that was added to his record.

Enygma and James Justice defeated Tyson Baine in 10.53 (C+)

Bruce and Baine fought once more after the match… and as Griffith, Rex, Enygma and Justice tried to join in they were swatted away, until the decision was taken for the entire roster to keep the two monsters apart (B)

Overall Rating C+

C+? I’m not going to argue – I didn’t really feel it was any better than my last show. However, looking at the stats… that’s my third best show ever, and my best TV show ever. The Main Event was my fifth best match… the Top 5 looking like this:

#1: Chris Caulfield defeated Mick Muscles (B-), USPW American Wrestling

#2: Enygma defeated Jack Griffith (C+), USPW American Wrestling

#3: James Justice defeated Jack Griffith (C+), USPW American Wrestling (dark match)

#4: Tyson Baine © defeated James Justice (C+), USPW Declaration of Independence

#5: Enygma and James Justice defeated Tyson Baine (C+), USPW American Wrestling

Locker-room incident! Steve Smith… did I mention I signed him? No? He’s currently announcing in dark matches while I think of a way of introducing him (I don’t just want to plonk him down on the announce table). Not bad in the locker-room, but I think it was his cute English action more than his stories that were keeping everyone amused.

Al Coleman won't be the guy who defeats Andre to become the new TV Champion. Andre is too good for that in my opinion.

USPW American Wrestling:

Live from the Tri State

Pre Show: Savage Fury and The People’s Team defeated Kicks From Hell, Peter Valentine & Giant Redwood (C-), Jumbo Jackson defeated Marc Speed (D+)

If this show isn’t money, I’m missing a trick somewhere. We open with a video advertising Tyson Baine vs Enygma vs James Justice in the Main Event, with Sam Strong as Special Referee. If that doesn’t keep people tuned in… (B+)

Match #1: Chris Caulfield vs Jack Griffith

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/ChrisCaulfield_alt1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JackGriffith.jpg

And the explosive start of the show is… not quite as explosive as hoped. The match was booked evenly, which the crowd couldn’t quite believe in. Jumbo Jackson attacked Caulfield to end the match, not caring at all that he gave a rival a win.

Chris Caulfield defeated Jack Griffith in 5.31 by DQ (D+)

Griffith slunk off to the back, allowing Caulfield and Jackson to continue their brawl – one that this time Caulfield got the better off, dropping Jackson through a ringside table. He took a mic and suggested that they meet in the ring – it was safer for Jackson that way (B)

Enygma was on hype duty number one, saying it was an honour to be stepping in the ring with Sam Strong again, even if he wasn’t wrestling. It was a memorable day in USPW history – but the most memorable event would be the crowning of a new Heavyweight Champion (B+)

Match #2: Alicia Strong vs Cherry Bomb

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AliciaStrong.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/CherryBomb_alt2.jpg

A relatively simple Alica Strong showcase, defeating Cherry Bomb with an Angel Driver.

Alicia Strong defeated Cherry Bomb in 5.25 (D+)

Strong (Ms.) took a mic after the match, challenging Gorgon to a match at USPW Independence Day Slam, before leaving the ring (D+)

Match #3: Andre Jones © vs Al Coleman for the USPW Television Title

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_TV.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AndreJones.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AlColeman.jpg

Wow – forgot these two had chemistry. Another title defence that showcased Andre Jones singles talents – that doesn’t exactly encourage me to move him permanently into the Tag Division. Both tag partners were ringside, but were not involved in the result as Jones pinned Coleman cleanly. It was left to the commentary team to ponder when The People’s Team would get their title rematch, as I couldn’t fit them in this show.

Andre Jones © defeated Al Coleman in 5.42 to retain the USPW Television Title ©

We haven’t had one for several weeks, so it was back to “Titan’s intimidate Sam Strong”. Griffith told Strong that he was past it, biased, and didn’t deserve to be in the ring – in fact, he suggested that T-Rex and himself should be ringside to keep the numbers even. Strong, somewhat surprisingly, said that wouldn’t be an issue (B+)

Commissioner Doom was shown backstage with Paige Croft, telling her that if she really wanted to wrestle, now was her chance. Croft looked confident, but Doom walked away laughing to himself (D-)

Match #4: April Appleseed and Paige Croft vs Gorgon and Joanne Rodriguez

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AprilAppleseed.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/PaigeCroft-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Gorgon.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JoanneRodriguez_alt1.jpg

No, the faces didn’t win. Croft saw little action, and it was left to Gorgon to deliver the Hydra Bomb on Appleseed. And yes, that was two Women’s matches tonight.

Gorgon and Joanne Rodriguez defeated April Appleseed and Paige Croft in 5.48 (D-)

Enygma took his turn to hype the Main Event, refuting Griffith’s suggestions that Sam Strong was biased. He declared that Strong was the most honourable man he knew – but that wouldn’t stop him counting the pin for him later tonight (B+)

Match #5: Champion Force vs The Towers of Power

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/NickyChampion_alt.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JimForce.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DannyRushmore.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/MickMuscles.jpg

Suddenly from hoping this would be a stellar show I’m looking at completely relying on the Main Event, having only had one other match that reached expectations (Television Title match, which exceeded expectations… by two grades). The Towers of Power have taken a back seat recently, and it would have been a reversal of recent fortunes for them to win. Which didn’t happen, with The Force pinning Muscles after a Full Force.

Champion Force defeated The Towers of Power in 8.14 (D+)

Tyson Baine came down to the ring flanked by T-Rex and Jack Griffith. They waited until Sam Strong came out in a ref’s shirt… flanked by Bruce the Giant. Much to Griffith’s consternation, Strong declared Bruce as ringside enforcer for the Main Event (B+)

Match #6: Tyson Baine © vs Enygma vs James Justice for the USPW World Heavyweight Title with Sam Strong as Special Guest referee

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_World.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/TysonBaine.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Enygma.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Liberty.jpg

This one delivered as expected. Much like the handicap match last week Baine started strongly but was forced on his back foot by his opponents. So much so that at one stage it became James Justice vs Enygma, with Jack Griffith breaking up a pin attempt by Enygma. Which earned Griffith a thundering chop from Bruce the Giant.

The match did break down after Tyson Baine caught Strong with a “stray” elbow, dazing the referee. That brought Baine’s team-mates in, with Griffith targeting Justice and T-Rex going after Enygma. It was T-Rex who made the biggest impact, drilling Enygma headfirst onto the concrete outside the ring, eliminating him from the match. Meanwhile, Bruce the Giant chased Griffith away from the ring, before returning to take on T-Rex. Inside the ring Tyson Baine vs James Justice continued, with Sam Strong splitting attention between the match and EMT’s attending Enygma outside the ring. As he was stretchered away the Bruce the Giant / T-Rex showing match got a bit close to Enygma, leading Sam Strong to exit the ring to clear Enygma’s path. That was enough for Jack Griffith to reappear through the crowd to crush Justice with a chair, leaving him as easy meat for a Hades Bomb.

Tyson Baine © defeated Enygma and James Justice in 13.24 to retain the USPW World Heavyweight Title (C+)

Sam Strong shook his head as he made the count, and was caught unaware as T-Rex entered the ring and clobbered him over the head. As Tyson Baine kept Bruce the Giant out of the ring T-Rex applied the Jurassic Crush, before throwing Strong to the mat in distain (B+)

Overall Rating C+

Full marks for Dragonmack and TakerNGN74 (and two 5/6's to follow up) showed that you can have good shows even when results are expected.

A quality Main Event (second best match ever) and a run of strong angles led to my second best show ever… better than four of my PPV’s this year. Huh. Some of the build up for Independence Day Slam had to take a back seat, so next weeks show will focus on that event which is only two weeks away.

Anger officially retires, and will take on some Road Agenting duties. Demon Spite, who was only hired on a short term basis around Anger’s announcement of his impending retirement for a mini reunion, has been allowed to leave. Before he left he formed another friendship with Andre Jones… but that was no reason for me to keep him around.

USPW American Wrestling:

Live from New England

Pre-Show: Champion Force and Marc Speed defeated The Towers of Power and Giant Redwood (C-); Chris Caulfield defeated Peter Valentine (D+)

Match #1: Savage Fury vs The Titans

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/TribalWarrior.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Java.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/TysonBaine.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/T-Rex_alt1.jpg

The Titans have dominated matches before, but never have they dominated a legitimate, credible tag team. Here, they did just that – T-Rex hitting The Extinction on Java for the win.

The Titans defeated Savage Fury in 5.05 (C-)

T-Rex hit The Extinction on Tribal Warrior as Sam Strong came out armed, with a microphone. He first called out the EMT’s, with both members of Savage Fury lying motionless in the ring. He then turned his attention to The Titans, telling them that although that was an impressive performance, that was the last he wanted to see them tonight – until the final bell rings in the Main Event they’re banned from ringside, with Tyson Baine’s title at risk if they disobeyed. He then told Baine who he would be facing at Independence Day Slam – another giant of the business, Bruce the Giant. He then moved onto T-Rex, noting how he had taken Enygma out of action last week, and Savage Fury this week, and pointed out how it would take a brave man to step foot in the ring with him. Sam Strong declared that he looked long and hard for someone who could face this dangerous man, and found a former multiple time World Heavyweight Champion to face him… none other than himself, Sam Strong. As the crowd popped, Strong turned his attention to Jack Griffith, telling him that he had the honour of being the first man to face him, before smiling, and telling him to enjoy his moment in the spotlight (B+)

Match #2: Al Coleman vs Jumbo Jackson

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AlColeman.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JumboJackson.jpg

A very short match, where the commentary team completely concentrated on Sam Strong’s announcement that he was stepping back into the ring. Meanwhile here, Jackson dominated before putting Coleman away with a Jumbo Avalanche.

Jumbo Jackson defeated Al Coleman in 2.39 (D)

Chris Caulfield casually strolled out, and as Jackson readied himself Caulfield held up his hands, and told him not to worry. Although he deserved a beating, he wasn’t getting it tonight. The beating would have to wait eight days – and then, at Independence Day Slam, the two had a match. And only one of them would be walking out of it (B-)

Sam Strong was shown with his daughter, who was questioning his decision to step back into the ring. Strong said this was something he had to do – just like Alicia would face her monster when challenging for the USPW Women’s Title next week, he’d also be facing a monster (B)

Match #3: Alicia Strong and Raven Robinson vs Belle Bryden and Cherry Bomb

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AliciaStrong.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/RavenNightfall_alt2.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BelleBryden.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/CherryBomb_alt2.jpg

Another good women’s match, although the faces were considerably on top – Alicia Strong getting the win with a Strong Arm Tactic.

Alicia Strong and Raven Robinson defeated Belle Bryden and Cherry Bomb in 6.57 (C-)

We went on to prove that our viewers care much more about our women’s wrestlers skills that characters, as they all went for snacks when J-Ro and Gorgon attacked Alicia Strong and Raven Robinson (E+)

Paige Croft interviewed Bruce the Giant backstage about his title shot, and he said that he couldn’t wait to get his hands on Tyson Baine. He said that the champion was throwing his weight around like he was the most dominant man in wrestling – but he was the most dominating man ever in the wrestling industry, and he was not going to lie down and not take notice (B)

Match #4: The People’s Team vs Kicks From Hell

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/FreddieDatsun.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DesDavids.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/HellMonkey_alt2-1.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JaredJohnson.jpg

Wooh. How long do we keep Pathlow / Monkey in a jobber tag team? He helped make the former champions look a million dollars – Davids getting the win after Quarterback Sacking Jared Johnson.

The People’s Team defeated Kick From Hell in 6.51 ©

The People’s Team took mics after the match and started talking about Team Sublime, when Champion Force were out. Nicky Champion said the he knew where they were going with this – they wanted their tag title rematch. Freddie Datsun agreed, when The Force said in that there proved a problem – Seduction had already given them a title shot next week on American Wrestling. Des Davids declared that she had no right, but Nicky Champion could only apologise, saying it was already signed and sealed ©

Backstage and Jack Griffith was complaining to Commissioner Doom about facing Sam Strong – trying to come up with excuses like USPW’s insurance policies surely didn’t allow the owner into the ring. Doom just laughed, telling Griffith that if he thought he was in position to over-rule Strong he had another thing coming. He did say that what he could do was introduce the man who Griffith would be facing at Independence Day Slam. Griffith demanded to know who it was, when James Justice came in, casually waving. Griffith waited a moment, noting the grins on Justice and Doom, before storming out of the room. Justice rubbed his hands, and said that he was going to quite enjoy that match ©

Match #5: Bruce the Giant vs Darryl Devine

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BrucetheGiant.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DarrylDevine_alt1.jpg

Holy smoly, could this be the best match ever in USPW? Not a lot of selling, but good in-ring action that made Devine appear a credible threat, especially with Andre Jones and Seduction assisting at ringside. Still, add up all there weights and you barely match Bruce, and he was able to put away Devine with a Giant Choke Slam.

Bruce the Giant defeated Darryl Devine in 6.19 (B-)

After the match Tyson Baine appeared on screen, screaming at Bruce the Giant. He said that he was the force that made Bruce run and hide to Japan all those years ago. In that time he dominated North American Wrestling, all the time while he was hiding. Next week, Tyson Baine promised that he would prove that he wasn’t just dominating North America, he was dominating the world (B+)

Sam Strong came down to the ring… taking his time… milking the crowd… (B+)

Match #6: Sam Strong vs Jack Griffith

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/SamStrong_alt-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JackGriffith.jpg

Well, this had to be the Main Event, even if the quality wasn’t quite there. Which may be a little worrying considering that Jack Griffith definitely has more talent than T-Rex for the PPV. Griffith seemed eager to quickly despatch Strong, but when the owner went on the offensive Griffith sold his offence well. With no assistance forthcoming for Griffith, Strong was able to get him into position for the Strong Arm Tactic, before delivering it in front of a rabid audience.

Sam Strong defeated Jack Griffith in 9.50 ©

The Titans took Sam Strong’s words from earlier literally, rushing out the moment the final bell was rung. A short beatdown of Strong was broken up when Bruce the Giant made the save, and he managed to clear the ring with the help of his boss to end the show triumphant (A*)

Overall Rating C+

TakerNGN74 gets full marks for the second show in the row - although BHK1978 would surely have joined him if he knew Sam Strong was going to be Griffith's mystery opponent.

Best. Match. Ever. Sorry Sam – your comeback was just outshone. Fourth best show ever. I’ve done my best not to ram Devine down people’s throats, but he’d proving irresistible. But still, the story of the day was Sam Strong's return to action.

One more show until Independence Day Slam.

Kicks from Hell don't stand a chance in this match even if Sam Strong is old.

Better team in my opinion plus I don't think Jack Griffith deserves to be in this match.

USPW American Wrestling:

Live from the Tri-State

Pre-Show: The People’s Team , Alicia Strong and Raven Robinson defeated Giant Redwood, Captain USA, Belle Bryden and Cherry Bomb (D+)

Yes, I ran out of heels, so Captain USA had to sub in as a reluctant partner

The show opened with Sam Strong and Bruce the Giant… they’re two of the biggest names in wrestling, so why not? Bruce sang Sam’s praises for a successful return to the ring last week, and said that he’d enjoy teaming up with him tonight. Sam Strong thanked his college, pointing out tonight was just the beginning – tomorrow was the night where they would bring The Titans reign of terror to a halt. That brought The Titans out, with Tyson Baine wondering what all the fuss was. An old man stepping foot back in the ring? A Giant with dodgy knees? Baine declared that these two men were living on past laurels, but had to bow to the current cream of USPW – a fact that T-Rex would prove next (A)

Match #1: The Hillbillys vs T-Rex in an elimination handicap match

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/PeteTheHillbilly.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AlTheHillbilly.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/T-Rex_alt1.jpg

T-Rex did indeed showcase this match, dominating this match to hit The Extinction on first Pete the Hillbilly, then following it with a viscous Extinction on Al.

T-Rex defeated The Hillbillys in 5.28 (D)

The Titans celebrated in the ring, but T-Rex was surprised when Enygma jumped him from behind. As the commentary team reminded the audience that T-Rex took Enygma out of action two weeks ago, Tyson Baine pulled Enygma off, causing Bruce the Giant and Sam Strong to come out to pull the parties apart (B+)

Backstage we saw The People’s Team in with Commissioner Doom, being told that they would face whoever won tonight’s Tag Title match the following day at Independence Day Slam (C-)

Match #2: April Appleseed and Amber Allen vs Joanne Rodriguez and Gorgon

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AprilAppleseed.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AmberAllen-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JoanneRodriguez_alt1.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Gorgon.jpg

No, we didn’t bother introducing the newest member of the Women’s Division, Amber Allen, but we did let her take a Hydra Bomb from Gorgon. How nice of us.

Joanne Rodriguez and Gorgon defeated April Appleseed and Amber Allen in 4.51 (D)

After the match Alicia Strong and Raven Robinson cut a backstage interview hyping up their matches for the following night – Robinson promising revenge on J-Ro, and Strong promising to stop Gorgon in her tracks (D)

Cut to Sam Strong’s office, where Enygma was pleading with Sam Strong to let him sub in for him to face T-Rex at Independence Day Slam. Sam refused, telling Enygma that he couldn’t let his fans down, but suggested that Enygma challenged someone else for a match. That clearly wasn’t the result Enygma wanted, obviously eager to get his hands on T-Rex (B+)

Match #3: Chris Caulfield and Shoot Club vs Jumbo Jackson and The Towers of Power

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/ChrisCaulfield_alt1.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/MarcSpeed.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AlColeman.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JumboJackson.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DannyRushmore.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/MickMuscles.jpg

Very disappointed in this match that never really got going. Probably because The Towers of Power have jobbed a lot recently, and Shoot Club have yet to be allowed to do anything except make their opponents look good. Caulfield tried to get his hands on Jumbo Jackson, but as a result spent too much time in the ring and got gradually worn down. When he did tag out Mick Muscles kept him busy outside the ring allowing Jackson to pin Marc Speed for the victory.

Jumbo Jackson and The Towers of Power defeated Chris Caulfield and Shoot Club in 7.06 (D)

Team Sublime were next out with Seduction insisting that after they won they would get their match with The People’s Team cancelled for tomorrow, as it was unfair of anyone to ask for her clients to defend their titles two nights running (C-)

Match #4: Team Sublime © vs Champion Force for the USPW Tag Team Titles

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Tag.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DarrylDevine_alt1.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AndreJones.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/NickyChampion_alt.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JimForce.jpg

Our first decent match of the night, with all four men combining well in the ring. As Champion Force took control of the match Seduction became more involved. At one point The Force shoved her from the ring apron, which led kick Darryl Devine kicking The Force in the groin, ending the match in DQ.

Champion Force defeated Team Sublime © in 7.12 by DQ (C-)

A frustrated The Force decked Darryl Devine, who was quickly pulled from the ring by Andre Jones. As he dragged his partner from the ring Commissioner Doom was out to declare that he was changing the match for Independence Day Slam – Team Sublime would defend against both Champion Force and The People’s Team. And as there was to be a result, he was making it a ladder match (C-)!

Quick hype video while we cleared the ring, and it was for Sam Strong vs T-Rex (B+)

Match #5: Bruce the Giant and Sam Strong vs Kicks From Hell

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BrucetheGiant.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/SamStrong_alt-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/HellMonkey_alt2-1.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JaredJohnson.jpg

Not enough selling shown? We were expecting that from the face team, so didn’t allow Kicks From Hell too much offence. The heel team may not have helped, and I’m going to blame that more on JJ than John Pathlow. It was the latter who took the pin from Bruce the Giant after a Giant Chokeslam.

Bruce the Giant and Sam Strong defeated Kicks From Hell in 6.06 (C-)

Enygma and James Justice in the ring, with Enygma daring T-Rex to interfere, as he couldn’t wait to get his hands on him again (B+)

Match #6: James Justice and Enygma vs Tyson Baine and Jack Griffith

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Liberty.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Enygma.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/TysonBaine.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JackGriffith.jpg

The fact that this match descended into chaos would surprise no-one – but the fact that it was never originally booked like this would. It was meant to be a relatively clean win for the heel team, but losing to a team involving Jack Griffith (who admittedly wasn’t at his best tonight) rubbed Enygma up the wrong way, and he refused to be in the losing team. So, instead we let Enygma cut a promo daring T-Rex to come out who eventually did, as did Sam Strong and Bruce the Giant, and the match just simply ended as the individual fights occurred all over the arena.

James Justice and Enygma drew with Tyson Baine and Jack Griffith in 12.38 (C+)

T-Rex was the man in most difficulty, as he had to face both Sam Strong and Enygma, and for once the big man was on the back foot. We also let Bruce the Giant and Tyson Baine at one another in the ring, with the champion being allowed to hit a Hades Bomb on his opponent to end the show (A)

Overall Rating C+

This showed diffilcult to predict with teh Sports Entertainment draw in the Main Event, disqualification in the Tag Title match and win for the Sneer Corporation. But BHK1978 predicted the last of those, and that was enough for the win with 4/6.

The hardest thing about this show – Tyson Baine showing up very late. Clearly, this was not behaviour I wanted from my champion… but at the end of my day, he was still my champion. A stern word irritated him, but his title run was keeping him happy.

Decent show, in which the debut of Amber Allen went massively… unnoticed. Despite not using my Women’s Division to the fullest, I’ve felt the need to expand, and have also made another signing. If I ever get a Women’s Tag Division she will team with April Appleseed as A-Class…

Gorgon © vs Alicia Strong for the USPW Women’s Title

Gorgon announced her impact in USPW with a huge debut win over Alicia Strong, but now the former Women’s Champion has an opportunity for revenge. As an added incentive, the USPW Women’s Title is up for grabs, with Gorgon giving no indication that she’ll give her opponent an easy ride.

Raven Robinson vs Joanne Rodriguez

Raven Robinson gets the opportunity to take on Joanne Rodriguez – the woman whose interference cost her the USPW Women’s Title. Raven will be eager for revenge, but her opponent has only been pinned once in singles action since arriving in USPW earlier this year.

Enygma vs ???

After being injured at the hands of T-Rex last month Enygma wanted a chance at revenge, but will have to settle for a match against whoever will answer his open challenge. No word on Enygma’s opponent yet, but they are sure to want to take advantage of the opportunity of taking on a former USPW World Champion.

Team Sublime © vs Champion Force vs The People’s Team in a ladder match for the USPW Tag Team Titles

Champion Force took on Team Sublime on USPW American Wrestling earlier this week, but were unable to win the USPW Tag Team Titles after Darryl Devine intentionally got that champion disqualified. However, Commissioner Doom proved to be a man not to be trifled with by making the champions defend the titles in a Triple Threat match with Champion Force and The People’s Team… and then made the match a Ladder match to ensure that a winner was named. Six men and one ladder is bound to produce exciting action, but will Team Sublime be able to overcome the odds that have been stacked against them?

Chris Caulfield vs Jumbo Jackson

After Chris Caulfield defeated Jumbo Jackson last month he must have thought that his battle with the Sneer Corporation member was over. However, a post match attack and the destruction of Caulfield’s car by Jackson quickly reignited the feud, with Caulfield promising to teach Jackson a lesson in the win. With so much emotion involved, this one could be a battle for the ages.

James Justice vs Jack Griffith

Jack Griffith has been backed up his entire USPW career by The Titans, but with his colleagues in the dual Main Events, he may be left on his own to face James Justice. While this will not suit Griffith, Justice has had to put up with the constant run-ins from The Titans, and will be eager to have an uninterrupted one on one match.

Sam Strong vs T-Rex

The Legend vs The Monster. T-Rex has been on a path of destruction, taking down however opponents are put infront of him – and putting a large proportion of them on the injured list. However, one man is stepping back into the ring to attempt to stop the monster – nine time World Champion, Hall of Immortals member and USPW owner Sam Strong. THE Legend in professional wrestling, Sam Strong has stepped back into the ring looking as fresh as he was ten years ago, and the return of Strong to PPV action is an event to be remembered for years to come.

Tyson Baine © vs Bruce the Giant for the USPW World Heavyweight Title

Tyson Baine has manhandled challengers over the last few months, but may have found the only opponent where this tactic will not work. They have fought some titanic battle over the last few months, with has included them smashing through walls. At last they meet in one on one action in the ring – can Baine continue his Title run, or will Bruce the Giant win the title for the first time in almost three years?

Gorgon © vs Alicia Strong for the USPW Women’s Title

Normally I would go with Alicia being the daughter of the owner. However, I just don't think it is going to happen this time around.

Raven Robinson vs Joanne Rodriguez

Revenge is a dish best served cold. And Raven shall get her revenge, pluse it sets up a Gorgon vs. Raven match.

Enygma vs ???

Team Sublime © vs Champion Force vs The People’s Team in a ladder match for the USPW Tag Team Titles

Tough call as either one of these teams would make sense getting the victory.

Chris Caulfield vs Jumbo Jackson

Tommy Dreamer for the win!

James Justice vs Jack Griffith

The drunk never gets the win in these big matches.

USPW Independence Day Slam

Live from the South East on PPV

Pre-Show: Belle Bryden defeated Amber Allen (C-), The Towers of Power defeated Savage Fury and Shoot Club ©

Still putting on decent dark matches…

The show opened with a hype video for Sam Strong vs T-Rex and Bruce the Giant vs Tyson Baine… because those are four of the most over people in USA right now (A)

Enygma was the first man out, putting an open challenge out which was answered by John Pathlow (B+)

Match #1: Enygma vs John Pathlow

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Enygma.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/HellMonkey_alt2-1.jpg

Could I have just put on my best match as the opener? Time will tell. When I realised that I wouldn’t’ have a match for Enygma at this event I came up with the injury angle that was expected to keep him out, and then a return and open challenge to put on this match in the hope it was good. And it was. There is no doubt about it – if Kicks From Hell don’t move into the midcard soon, Pathlow will leaving Johnson behind. He did fall here though, to the Enygma Variation.

Enygma defeated John Pathlow in 8.19 (B-)

Paige Croft interviewed Sam Strong, virtually swooning at the man who got her a job at USPW. Sam Strong made the promo though, making the crowd eat from his hands while promising to stop T-Rex tonight (A)

Match #2: Raven Robinson vs Joanne Rodriguez

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/RavenNightfall_alt2.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JoanneRodriguez_alt1.jpg

I’m doing something wrong when I’ve had numerous dark women’s matches better than this, when this is an ex-champion and one of the hottest talents about. J-Ro got the clean win here, with the J-Rocker.

Joanne Rodriguez defeated Raven Robinson in 5.53 (D)

Jack Griffith and The Titan’s cut a promo, promising Sam Strong that despite the opponents that have been drawn up to face them tonight they will now be stopped – and their domination of USPW will last well beyond tonight (B)

Team Sublime to came out to complain about having to defend their titles against two teams, when both teams came out to mock the champions. We allowed the segment to run for a while, with the challengers getting the crowd right on Team Sublime’s back, leaving them eager for the match ©

Match #3: Team Sublime © vs Champion Force vs The People’s Team in a ladder match for the USPW Tag Team Titles

Great little match – the first ladder match I’ve booked. A lot of the brawling didn’t involve the ladder, which was put in for one purpose alone – for Darryl Devine to deliver a giant Moonsault off the top of the ladder onto the challengers. After that Andre Jones was the last man standing, and was able to climb the ladder to reclaim the titles.

Team Sublime © defeated Champion Force and The People’s Team in 13.16 to retain the USPW Tag Team Titles ©

Match #4: Gorgon © vs Alicia Strong for the USPW Women’s Title

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Womens.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Gorgon.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AliciaStrong.jpg

Somewhere I seemed to have missed out a segment. Nevertheless, the closeness of these two matches was justified, with Gorgon deciding to use the ladder from the previous match to slam into Gorgon. Which is not allowed.

Alicia Strong defeated Gorgon © in 7.08 by DQ (D+)

Gorgon slammed Alicia Strong with the ladder once more, before dumping it on her opponent and walking off (D-)

Chris Caulfield came out after Alicia Strong was helped away to remind everyone the damage that Jumbo Jackson did to his car, and let Jumbo Jackson the damage he was going to do to him (B-)

Match #5: Chris Caulfield vs Jumbo Jackson

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/ChrisCaulfield_alt1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JumboJackson.jpg

Caulfield started like a house on fire, beating away at Jumbo Jackson. This was only stopped be a knee to the groin by Jackson that switched the momentum towards Jackson, before the action swung way one and another. A longer match than could be expected, and it was Jumbo Jackson who eventually pulled out the upset win after fighting out of a Danger Drop and delivering a Jumbo Avalanche.

Jumbo Jackson defeated Chris Caulfield in 12.30 ©

James Justice was out for his match, before Jack Griffith followed carrying microphone. He told Justice that it doesn’t have to be like this. Why be an enemy of The Titans, when he could join them? Justice responded that joined a lowlife like him was the last thing on his mind – pinning him was much higher on his list (B+)

Match #6: James Justice vs Jack Griffith

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Liberty.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JackGriffith.jpg

And the first time Justice uses his Creative Control. I forgot he had it, as it would have been obvious that with his B+ popularity he wasn’t going to want to lose to a C- popularity Jack Griffith. But I wanted him to. This could have elevated Jack Griffith, but instead we got another good match with Justice trying to make Griffith win – while still beating him.

James Justice defeated Jack Griffith in 10.41 (C+)

After the match a mysterious women slid into the ring a wrapped her arms around Justice, planting him with a huge kiss. Justice looked confused… yet happy at the same time ©

Bruce the Giant was shown giving Sam Strong last minute good wishes for his match. Strong turned round to Bruce and told him that it doesn’t really matter what he does – it’s Bruce who can really make the impact tonight by taking the World Title off Tyson Baine (A*)

Match #7: Sam Strong vs T-Rex

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/SamStrong_alt-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/T-Rex_alt1.jpg

Well, I knew that this one wasn’t going to be one of my top matches of the night, but I wasn’t going to push the boss down the card. He kept fighting back despite being brutalised by T-Rex. Rex even got to apply the Jurassic Crush, when Enygma came ringside to encourage Strong. This motivated Strong to fight out of the Crush, and it was soon after that he hit the Strong Arm Tactic for the win.

Sam Strong defeated T-Rex in 6.48 (C-)

Enygma got into the ring a held up Sam Strong’s arm, as the boss took in the adulation of the fans (B+)

We then cut to a hype video, as the two monster of USPW meet over the USPW World Heavyweight Title (B+)

Match #8: Tyson Baine © vs Bruce the Giant for the USPW World Heavyweight Title

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_World.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/TysonBaine.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BrucetheGiant.jpg

What – more lack of selling? Let’s say that I’m not really too stunned about that one. The two monsters slugged away at one another, and Bruce was the first to hit his finisher… but Baine kicked out of the Chokeslam. Then we had T-Rex and Jack Griffith come out, but were quickly met by Sam Strong and Enygma, who forced them to the back. In the ring Baine hit the Hades Bomb… but this time it was Bruce to kick out. The match went on until both competitors were tired, and Tyson Baine brought his title into the ring. He took a wild swipe at Bruce that the giant swayed out of the way, and instead hit the ref. Bruce delivered another Giant Chokeslam to Baine, this time onto his title. Bruce made the cover, and out from the back sprinted Sam Strong to make the three count, giving us a new champion.

Bruce the Giant defeated Tyson Baine © in 11.04 to win the USPW World Heavyweight Title (B-)

Bruce the Giant celebrated in the ring with his new title after the match… as it would be rude to not let him (B+)

Overall Rating C+

Buy Rate 0.68

6/8 was the best out of the predictions, with Jumbo Jackson's defeat of Chris Caulfield proving the biggest upset of the night. Congratulations to Dragonmack for the win, although he did not call the World Title change.

Well, without looking that’s my best ever Main Events, as my B-‘s keep randomly appearing where I don’t expect them. But let’s see where the two that were delivered tonight sit on my all time list:

Bruce the Giant vs Tyson Baine – fourth best match ever

Enygma vs John Pathlow – Best. Match. Ever. Yeah, Pathlow’s moving up the card.

Independence Day Slam also was my best show ever, and a satisfying end result to a show I’ve been building up to for a while. Okay, I was secretly hoping for a B- rated show, but with Sam Strong vs T-Rex in the semi-Main Event that was never going to happen.

After the show, changes in USPW begin to happen. Firstly, Al the Hillbilly’s contract runs out, and he is allowed to leave. Pete the Hillbilly is also released. A little bit of an era ending there. If I ever want to start the Marc Speed push I’ll have to sign another jobber tag team, otherwise Shoot Club will take / remain in that place.

Mid Year Review

Well, not quite mid year – it’s been narrowly over six months, with seven PPV’s. I tried to not make too many signings, and I think I achieved in that goal, but let’s have a look at the signings that I have made:

Jack Griffith

(11 wins, 1 draw, 13 defeats; average C-, highest C+)

Jack’s start in USPW was pretty inauspicious – jobbing to Marc Speed in the dark. He then remained in dark matches until he put on a great match with James Justice, which convinced me to throw him in at the deep end. He replaced Sheik Mustapha as the mouthpiece for The Titans, and put on two great PPV matches with James Justice. Unfortunately for him his singles record is pretty dreadful, having been beaten by just about every face above midcard on the roster. He’s been solid, but seems likely to become a midcard fixture rather than a Main Eventer.

Marc Speed

(3 wins, 20 losses; average D+, highest C)

Al Coleman

(2 wins, 22 losses; average D+, highest C)

I brought in Shoot Club as a vehicle to introduce Marc Speed – unfortunately they have just served the role of jobber tag team. However, they have put on decent matches, and are slowly becoming well known (Coleman more than Speed), but are in need of a break. With a fairly shallow tag division, they must hope to be thrust into the title frame like Team Sublime were.

John Pathlow

(2 wins, 10 losses; average C-, highest B-)

Jared Johnson

(2 wins, 10 losses; average D+, highest C+)

After dropping the WLW World Level Show Stealer title Hell Monkey returned to USPW, the promotion where he first made his name. His Team with hot prospect Jared Johnson as Kicks From Hell is definitely helping the rookie, but strong matches against Chris Caulfield and USPW’s MOTY against Enygma show that his true strength is in singles action. Quite where that leaves Johnson remains to be seen.

Gorgon

(11 wins, 1 draw, 7 losses; average D+, highest C)

Brought in to be the dominant force of the Women’s Division, Gorgon’s early dominance has slipped. That has partly to do with the fact that with such a shallow division it’s difficult to dominate without destroying the division. She had a strong match with Alicia Strong before winning the Women’s Title… but since her matches have fallen flat.

Joanne Rodriguez

(10 wins, 1 draw, 5 losses; average D+, highest C-)

J-Ro was the big signing of the Women’s Division, keeping her allegiances hidden until allying with Gorgon. However, I’ll have to admit that so far I have made her less popular than she was when she originally signed for USPW, so there’s been a failure here from me.

April Appleseed

(0 wins, 15 losses; average D+, highest C-)

Amber Allen

(2 losses; average D+, highest C-)

Two jobbers – Amber Allen recently signed, but April Appleseed having been consistently jobbed since joining in January, and has seen her popularity wane.

Just to make me feel a little better, as I seem to have hurt a lot of my wrestlers’ popularity, I do have some popular workers:

A*: Sam Strong, Tyson Baine, Bruce the Giant, T-Rex

A: Enygma

B+: James Justice

B: Jumbo Jackson

B-: Chris Caulfield (having been at A popularity when challenging for the USPW World Heavyweight Title)

In fact, Tyson Baine and T-Rex are the only two full time active wrestlers with A* popularity, and only Jack Bruce (along with Enygma) has A rated popularity (Sean McFly having just dropped to B+). I really need to start doing better.

Andre should have no problem winning this one, at least I hope he doesnt.

Des Davids vs Jumbo Jackson

Tough Call but I will go with Davids for the duke here.

Raven Robinson and Amber Allen vs Gorgon and Joanne Rodriguez

I like this team better, I do like Joanne Rodriguez but I really don't like Gorgon to much which is the reason I am going for Raven and Amber.

The Force vs Jack Griffith

The Force will be with him

James Justice vs T-Rex

Again better worker in my opinion

Enygma vs Tyson Baine

This match could be a toss up as either man could win and I am fine with either man winning but if I had to pick just one I will go with Enygma.
