USPW American Wrestling:

Live from the Mid West

Pre Show: Alicia Strong defeated April Appleseed and Cherry Bomb (C-)

Match #1: Des Davids vs Jumbo Jackson

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DesDavids.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JumboJackson.jpg

During this match we learnt that the 4 corner tag match was for the Number One Contendership to the USPW Tag Team Titles. I did an amazing job of making one of the title holders look weak here as he fell to Jumbo Jackson, who was not accompanied by Shane Sneer.

Jumbo Jackson defeated Des Davids in 5.21 (D+)

As Jumbo Jackson headed backstage he was met by Sheik Mustapha, on the lookout for new talents. He told Jackson that if he joined him he would be able to get the matches that Jackson wanted – and deserved. That’s when Shane Sneer confidently strolled into shot and asked Mustapha what that would be – because if it was a match with Enygma, Sneer had already got the match signed for Freedom Fight. Jackson smiled at the news, and walked off with Sneer making Mustapha look forlorn (C-)

We went over to Commissioner Doom’s office, where Sam Strong and brought Paige Croft in. Despite Doom’s protest Strong made the executive decision that Paige Croft was to be the new backstage interviewer at USPW, and told Doom that he better make her feel a home. Doom relented, but smiled as he told Croft that her first assignment would be a pre-Main Event interview – with World Champion Tyson Baine (C-)

Match #2: Shoot Club vs The Hillbillys vs Team Sublime vs The Towers of Power

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/MarcSpeed.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AlColeman.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/PeteTheHillbilly.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AlTheHillbilly.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DarrylDevine_alt1.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AndreJones.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DannyRushmore.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/MickMuscles.jpg

Excepting the champions and Savage Fury, this is our tag division. Not the strongest, but considering two of these teams didn’t exist before I started booking, I consider it an improvement from three months ago. All four teams had their moment in the spotlight… although the Hillbilly’s was noticeably short. The Towers of Power were named Number One Contenders after Mick Muscles pinned Marc Speed.

The Towers of Power defeated Shoot Club, The Hillbillys and Team Sublime in 10.16 (D+)

Raven Robinson called Gorgon out to the ring, and the challenger to the Women’s Title was happy to oblige. Robinson told Gorgon that she has left an impressive path of destruction in her wake – but she hasn’t met the Champion yet, and she’s champion for a reason. She recognised that Gorgon had allied herself with The Sneer Corporation, a Corporation that always seemed be around to “help out” their allies. As such, she introduced the special ringside enforcer for their match at Freedom Fight – Joanne Rodriguez. J-Ro swung her hips down to the ring, and declared that she would ensure that at Freedom Fight it would be all about the Women wrestlers of USPW. Gorgon snatched the mic and told J-Ro she was fine with that – as she came to fight (D+)

Match #3: Tribal Warrior vs Jack Griffith

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/TribalWarrior.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JackGriffith.jpg

How quickly Jack Griffith goes from putting on a stellar PPV match to jobbing to one of Savage Fury. An even match, but Warrior showed an intensity to put Griffith away with a Head Hunter Special.

Tribal Warrior defeated Jack Griffith in 7.18 (D)

Chris Caulfield came out for his match, taking a mic to tell T-Rex that all that this match offered was a minor speed bump on his way to Tyson Baine, and he would end it quickly (B)

Match #4: Chris Caulfield vs T-Rex

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/ChrisCaulfield_alt1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/T-Rex_alt1.jpg

This match barely got going before T-Rex picked up the ring steps and battered Chris Caulfield with them… which isn’t in the rules.

Chris Caulfield defeated T-Rex in 2.13 by DQ (D+)

Savage Fury were out but Chris Caulfield motioned them away, and came back at T-Rex – to the extent that Caulfield delivered the Danger Drop to T-Rex through a ringside table (B)

As Savage Fury headed returned to the backstage ares, they stopped in at Doom’s office where Java demanded that the Main Event was made into a hardcore match. Doom agreed, and although Sam Strong came in to try and reverse the decision, both Doom and Java were adamant, and Strong relented ©

Match #5: Enygma, James Justice, Nicky Champion and The Force vs Bruce the Giant, Peter Valentine, Giant Redwood and Anger

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Enygma.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Liberty.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/NickyChampion_alt.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JimForce.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BrucetheGiant.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/PeterValentine.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/GiantRedwood.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DemonAnger.jpg

I had a feeling this show was going to suck a bit. Considering that there were eight wrestlers in the ring there really wasn’t that much talent on show, and although Bruce dominated when he was in the ring James Justice picked up the win for the faces by pinning Anger.

Enygma, James Justice, Nicky Champion and The Force defeated Bruce the Giant, Peter Valentine, Giant Redwood and Anger in 8.09 (D+)

Paige Croft nervously interviewed Tyson Baine before the Main Event, stumbling over her words and not by the help that Baine literally growled at her. Baine did make it clear that he would destroy Java, and would move onto Chris Caulfield and anyone else who was thrown in his path (B+)

Match #6: Java vs Tyson Baine © in a non-title, hardcore match

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Java.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/TysonBaine.jpg

…and this is likely to be the worst show that I’ve ever booked. It could had definitely done with another (or even one) Main Event match, but I refused to give away any of the combinations on TV at this point, while building up the Freedom Fight. As such we had a lacklustre Main Event with Java not hugely impressing in his chance to. Being a USPW Hardcore match it wasn’t really what the crowd wanted to see, or even that hardcore, and a Hades Bomb onto a chair ended the show.

Tyson Baine © defeated Java in 9.53 (D+)

Overall Rating D+

I’m not going to worry about the rating too much. I wanted to build up Freedom Fight, and as such the show worked for me storylinewise. I also learnt to not run hardcore matches.

Despite having seven other wrestlers in the ring to carry the load Peter Valentine still managed to hurt his ankle in his match. It should be better by next week.

TCW start with Sean McFly, Frankie Perez and Matthew Keith. Yeah, good start. Eisaku Hoshino returns to wrestling, signing for BHOTWG, and… Demon Anger announces his imminent retirement? Well, after winning a match on the first show I booked he’s jobbed ever since, and after leaving The Sneer Corporation he probably realised that was it. I’ll have to set up a retirement match, but he’ll make a handy Road Agent post-retirement. Attitude not withstanding.

I still can't believe that he lost to one of the Savage Jobbers!

Sorry Pete this is not your match to win.

I think any team with Chris, James and Enygma on it should have enough star power to win.

USPW American Wrestling:

Live from the Tri-State

Pre Show: Jumbo Jackson defeated Al Coleman (C-)

Looks like I can still run a C- match on pre-show in my sleep, despite not televising a C- match at all last week

Match #1: Champion Force vs Peter Valentine and Giant Redwood

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/NickyChampion_alt.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JimForce.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/PeterValentine.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/GiantRedwood.jpg

These two teams were part of the huge tag match last week, and again the face gained the win here, with Nicky Champion hitting the Hawkeye Hammer on Valentine for the win.

Champion Force defeated Peter Valentine and Giant Redwood in 7.11 (D+)

Nicky Champion took a mic after the match and claimed that it was time that Peter Valentine stopped picking on the newbies at USPW. After that pin Champion said that he was entitled to a shot at the National Title – and he wanted it at Freedom Fight (C-)

Backstage Anger confronted Shane Sneer about being ditched from the Sneer Corporation, and his former manager told him it was inevitable. Anger’s age and, quite frankly, his reducing ring ability made him a liability – and he certainly didn’t want to become a target for Sam Strong because of him. Anger shoved Sneer against the wall asking Sneer if he had forgotten everything he had done for the Corporation, but Sneer just smiled. He thanked Anger, pointing out that everything that happened from now on was self defence. Anger looked confused before Jumbo Jackson delivered a beatdown, dragging him to a fire exit before throwing him out of the arena (D+)

Match #2: Marc Speed vs Jack Griffith

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/MarcSpeed.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JackGriffith.jpg

Ii was pleasantly surprised about the reaction to this match – although I knew that the action would be decent, I was unsure about whether the crowd would get into it. As it turned out the two men did manage to engage the crowd, and that’s to their credit, with Speed eventually eating a Jack in the Box.

Jack Griffith defeated Marc Speed in 6.04 (C-)

Sam Strong congratulated Jack Griffith on his victory, to said he would have another challenge at Freedom Fight, where Griffith would be teaming up with T-Rex to take on his personal enforcers – Savage Fury (B)

Paige Croft carried out her second interviewing duty with USPW, and it was a decent interview with Television Champion Andre Jones. He scoffed at the idea that Pete the Hillbilly would prove a challenge to anyone at USPW, let alone a champion in his calibre (C-)

Match #3: Andre Jones © vs Pete the Hillbilly for the USPW Television Title

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_TV.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AndreJones.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/PeteTheHillbilly.jpg

Well, I didn’t expect it to be a good match, but as they were in the same ring last week I was happy to try out this match. Darryl Devine and Seduction joined commentary, and it seems that their alliance with Jones is permanent. Their assistance wasn’t required here.

Andre Jones © defeated Pete the Hillbilly to retain the USPW Television Title (D-)

Backstage we went to three of the faces of USPW Women’s wrestling cut a promo directed firmly against Gorgon. They cast doubt on her ability and trustworthiness, and J-Ro guaranteed that she would not walk out of Freedom Fight as champion (C-)

Match #4: Raven Robinson, Alicia Strong and Joanne Rodriguez vs Gorgon, Belle Bryden and Cherry Bomb

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/RavenNightfall_alt2.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AliciaStrong.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JoanneRodriguez_alt1.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Gorgon.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BelleBryden.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/CherryBomb_alt2.jpg

This match was a little let down, with the action not quite living up to the promise. Gorgon’s partners seemed not to trust her, which lead to her getting very little ring time. When she did, she dominated, but the faces proved a much more cohesive team, Robinson getting the pin on Bryden for the win.

Raven Robinson, Alicia Strong and Joanne Rodriguez defeated Gorgon, Belle Bryden and Cherry Bomb in 11.25 (D)

In a pre-Main Event hype Chris Caulfield made a huge announcement for Freedom Fight – Sam Strong and Commissioner Doom had agreed that due to previous interference the USPW World Heavyweight Title match would be held in steel cage – no interference, no escape – just one pinfall or submission to win the match (B-)

Match #5: Chris Caulfield, James Justice, Enygma and The People’s Team vs The Titans, Bruce the Giant and The Towers of Power

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/ChrisCaulfield_alt1.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Liberty.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Enygma.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/FreddieDatsun.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DesDavids.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/TysonBaine.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/T-Rex_alt1.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BrucetheGiant.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DannyRushmore.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/MickMuscles.jpg

And this was also meant to be better. Perhaps the tag teams should have been left out. Which is a pity, as part of the story had them fighting their way to the back… while the legal men, ending the match in a count out.

Chris Caulfield, James Justice, Enygma and The People’s Team drew The Titans, Bruce the Giant and The Towers of Power in 17.59 by count out (C-)

Not wanting to leave the show on that note, the three men in the ring continued the fight with no rules – and the giant heels were the ones who dominated, hitting finishers on their opponents to end to show standing tall (B+)

Overall Rating C-

4/5 all round, although as the missed out match was a draw it should really be a 4/4.

Yeah, that was meant to be better.

TCW signed Acid. Sean McFly starts his TCW career with two A’s – defeat to Tommy Cornell and victory over Troy Tornado. Don’t think they’re shrinking any time soon. Frankie Perez is known as Kill Switch, and jobbed in six man action.

Not really. Every time I go for a high rated Main Event I'm giving away potential PPV matches for free. I don't like booking for ratings on TV - but I'm having to, to keep myself afloat.

USPW American Wrestling:

Live from the Mid Atlantic

Pre-Show: Enygma defeated Darryl Devine (C+)

Seriously? C+? No chemistry?

The show opened with a hype video for Freedom Fight, concentrating on Chris Caulfield and Tyson Baine being locked in a cage together for the World Heavyweight Title (B+)

Match #1: Nicky Champion vs Giant Redwood

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/NickyChampion_alt.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/GiantRedwood.jpg

So, Enygma should have opened the show. Not an impressive match, with the ref DQ’ing Redwood when he tried to choke out champion with a foot on his neck. Champion was on the floor at the time – Redwood wasn’t doing anything athletic.

Nicky Champion defeated Giant Redwood in 5.43 by DQ (D)

We cut backstage to where Peter Valentine accepted Nicky Champion’s challenge, calling him another upstart who was not worthy to wrestle in his presence (C-)

Match #2: The Shoot Club vs Jack Griffith and T-Rex

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/MarcSpeed.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AlColeman.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JackGriffith.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/T-Rex_alt1.jpg

Another disappointing match – that’s what happen when you book trying for ratings. T-Rex made Coleman tap to the Jurassic Crush.

Jack Griffith and T-Rex defeated The Shoot Club in 8.05 (D)

Backstage, and Des Davids was complaining to Commissioner Doom that he had to face Bruce the Giant just days before defending the tag team titles. He got more and more frustrated, leading to Freddie Datsun having to pull him away (D+)

Match #3: Des Davids vs Bruce the Giant

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DesDavids.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BrucetheGiant.jpg

This was more like what we were expecting, with Des Davids bringing the fight to Bruce the Giant, but with his usual tactic of trying to overpower his opponent not going to work he seemed to have no plan B. Bruce didn’t need to leave Plan A, which was the Giant Chokeslam.

Bruce the Giant defeated Des Davids in 5.47 (C-)

Paige Croft continued her backstage interviewing, and this time she had the Women’s Champion, Raven Robinson by her side. Another decent interview, and Croft seems certainly up to this task. Raven Robinson told Croft that her original apprehension of facing Gorgon had gone – she’s now excited at the prospect of ending her streak ©

Match #4: Raven Robinson © vs Cherry Bomb in a non-title match

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/RavenNightfall_alt2.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/CherryBomb_alt2.jpg

These two didn’t click. I knew this, having run this match on my first show. But I had forgotten. Nonetheless, a clean win.

Raven Robinson defeated Cherry Bomb in 6.42 (D)

We cut backstage to see Gorgon beating down Alicia Strong, screaming that this will happen to Robinson at Freedom Fight. J-Ro was able to make the save before any real damage was done… but this segment sucked (E+)

Sam Strong raised to mood, telling The Titans that he knew he would struggle to keep them out of the Main Event – so he was making it a Lumberjack Match. They’ll be joined by The Towers of Power ringside, where Savage Fury, The People’s Team and Enygma will also be. He cut off any argument, telling them he needed to check on his daughter (C+)

Match #5: Tyson Baine © vs Anger in a non-title match

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/TysonBaine.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DemonAnger.jpg

I was hoping for a grade above this, but perhaps considering I let Baine dominate so much it was expected. And that I forgot to turn Anger face last week. Ooops. That would have been the issue. Baine delivered two Hades Bombs before making the pin.

Tyson Baine defeated Anger in 4.58 (D+)

Chris Caulfield hyped his match with Baine at Freedom Fight, telling the monster that a cage was where Baine belonged – and he would make sure that he would be unable to leave the cage at the end of their match (B+)

Match #6: Chris Caulfield vs Jumbo Jackson in a lumberjack match

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/ChrisCaulfield_alt1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JumboJackson.jpg

Result, a decent match, decent heat, decent action outside the ring between the lumberjacks and the competitors. I’ll sum it up by saying everyone managed to fight with everyone else, but Chris Caulfield came out the strongest, hitting the Danger Drop on Jackson.

Chris Caulfield defeated Jumbo Jackson in 11.36 (C+)

Overall Rating C

5/6 all round this time - Shoot Club not getting the result their talent would deserve in any other promotion, and Cherry Bomb not able to take advantage of the "non-title" stipulation.

Perhaps I should have made sure that I turned Anger properly, and that would have been a C+ show. His morale was surprisingly high going into the match after he wound of Captain USA before the show and a fight almost broke out. I decided to read him the riot act – and he seemed to listen. Perhaps he realised he was meant to act like a vet.

Mikey James signs with TCW. Slowly crossing potential signees off my list.

USPW Freedom Fight Preview

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_National.jpg

Peter Valentine © vs Nicky Champion for the USPW National Title

Peter Valentine has made successful National Title defences against Captain USA, Marc Speed and Al Coleman since the start of the year. However, the level of challenge is set to increase with the challenge of former Television Champion, Nicky Champion, who has a pinfall victory in tag action over Valentine from two weeks ago.

The People’s Team © vs The Towers of Power for the USPW Tag Team Titles

Having successfully defended their titles against the rest of the Sneer Corporation, The People’s Team must now face the most dominant tag team over the last five years – The Towers of Power. The four time former champions have been itching to regain the titles from the team who defeated them back in November, and are no doubt going to be a stiff challenge for the champions.

Enygma vs Jumbo Jackson

Jumbo Jackson’s relationship with Shane Sneer has hit difficulty in the last few weeks, but he managed to retain his client by signing to a match with Enygma. Can Jackson make best use of this opportunity by finally defeating the former World Heavyweight Champion?

Raven Robinson © vs Gorgon for the USPW Women’s Title with Joanne Rodriguez as ringside enforcer

Newcomer Gorgon has dominated the Women’s Division since debuting in January, and now gets her chance at Women’s Champion Raven Robinson. However, Robinson has been unbeaten this year, and with Joanne Rodriguez as enforcer to ensure there’s no interference Gorgon will not find the Women’s Champion an easy target.

Savage Fury vs T-Rex and Jack Griffith

Since Jack Griffith joined The Titans they have run a path of destruction through USPW, including costing Chris Caulfield the World Title at Liberty and Justice. However, they’ve crossed the line once too often, and will now have to face Sam Strong’s personal enforcers, Savage Fury.

James Justice vs Bruce the Giant

Two men who believe they should be next in line for a World Heavyweight Title shot meet in one on one action. Both have been on great form this year – the winner will surely enter the World Heavyweight Title picture, with the loser dropping back a step.

Tyson Baine © vs Chris Caulfield for the USPW World Heavyweight Title in a cage match

After their last meeting at Liberty and Justice was ruined by Jack Griffith’s interference, the rematch between World Champion and Chris Caulfield will be held inside a steel cage, with the only way to win by pinfall or submission. Tyson Baine recently proved against Java was well suited to using any weapons that can be found to good use – however, Chris Caulfield has a hardcore history that he’s proud of, and comes off a big victory against Jumbo Jackson. Will Freedom Fight be the night that Caulfield finally takes his first USPW World Heavyweight Championship, or will Tyson Baine’s reign of terror continue?

The challengers were the hot team coming into this match, and did their best to bully the champions around the ring. However, Des Davids was not to be bullied, and it was him who pinned Muscles after a Quarterback Sack.

The People’s Team © defeated The Towers of Power in 11.49 to retain the USPW Tag Team Titles (C-)

We cut backstage and Anger is shown with Commissioner Doom, contemplating if perhaps it was time for him to move on. Demon Spite crashed through the doors and told Anger that when he retired Anger told him he wanted out on his on terms. The two shook hands, with Spite asking Anger if these were really his terms (D+)?

These two had met before Main Eventing a TV show, and that match sucked so I was pleasantly surprised here with the match. Not so impressed with Enygma pointing at his Creative Control clause when I told him the original outcome I had planned. Jumbo Jackson was booked strong, but when Demon Spite came out he was distracted long enough for Anger to come through the crowd at hit Jackson with a Demon Slam, allowing Enygma to apply the Enygma Variation for the win.

As the Demon’s celebrated on their way backstage, Jackson berated Shane Sneer, demanding to know what he was going to do ©

Backstage and Paige Croft held her shortest interview yet with Peter Valentine. The National Champion decided that like Nicky Champion Croft wasn’t in his league – but whereas he has to wrestler Champion, he doesn’t have to stand here being interviewed (D-)

A relatively even match saw Peter Valentine slowly take control. He went for the Heart Breaker, but Nicky Champion fought Valentine off and went for the schoolboy roll-up… and shockingly got the pin!

Sam Strong joined the commentary team for this one, but was disappointed to see his enforcers meet T-Rex in dominating move, slamming Tribal Warrior onto Java, before pinning both men simultaneously.

T-Rex and Jack Griffith defeated Savage Fury in 8.33 (D+)

Paige Croft tried to make amends for her earlier aborted interview by catching Bruce the Giant. Bruce seemed amused by the petite figure of Croft, and laughed when she suggested that she could wrestle. Bruce claimed that wrestling was a sport for big boys, but he was impressed by her spunk (B+)

Match #5: Raven Robinson © vs Gorgon for the USPW Women’s Title with Joanne Rodriguez as ringside enforcer

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Womens.jpg

Build up a feud for long enough… and poor chemistry hits. C’est la vie. Robinson used her speed to avoid Gorgon, and even managed to throw her out of the ring. While the ref concentrated on giving Gorgon the count Joanne Rodriguez slipped into the ring and hit the J-Rocker on the Women’s Champion. J-Ro rolled Gorgon back into the ring who wasn’t about to resist the chance to hit a Hydra Bomb getting the three count and becoming the new Women’s Champion.

Gorgon defeated Raven Robinson © in 10.28 to win the USPW Women’s Title (D)

J-Ro took a mic after the match and grabbed Robinson by the hair, telling her she was far to trusting. How little it took to gain her friendship, and how quickly she was able to trust cost her the title. She and Gorgon were the two dominant women wrestlers on the planet, and would destroy to overpaid pretty girls of USPW (D+)

James Justice hyped his match with Bruce the Giant, telling Bruce if he was treating his challenge as seriously as his interview earlier, he was looking to be in big trouble (B+)

Match #6: James Justice vs Bruce the Giant

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Liberty.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BrucetheGiant.jpg

I got what I was expecting out of this match… but I’d have to be honest that I was hoping for a little bit more. Call me greedy. This bout really hadn’t been built up too well – completely my fault. What we did see was James Justice slam Bruce and then follow it up with a Liberation Slam for the win.

James Justice defeated Bruce the Giant in 10.19 ©

Chris Caulfield was on Main Event hype, promising that when it came down to just him and Baine locked in the ring he would deliver what has been coming to the champion, and he would walk out of the ring as champion – while Baine wouldn’t even be able to crawl out (B+)

Match #7: Tyson Baine © vs Chris Caulfield for the USPW World Heavyweight Title in a cage match

As before, we got what we expected, even if we hoped for more. This was left as a one on one battle, with both men making good use out of the cage, and doing everything but drawing crimson from their opponents. Chris Caulfield delivered the Danger Drop, but the unstoppable Baine kicked out. He followed this up by slamming Caulfield multiple times into the cage before hitting a Hades Bomb, and Caulfield was unable to do anything about the pin.

Tyson Baine © defeated Chris Caulfield in 14.01 to retain the USPW World Heavyweight Title (C+)

Overall Rating C

Raven Robinson © vs Gorgon for the USPW Women’s Title with Joanne Rodriguez as ringside enforcer - I'm tempted to think Joanne goes heel, but whatever hapens, Gorgon gets the belt.

Predictable, disapointing or both? 3 predictors predicted the full card correctly, buy jesseewiak gets the kudos by also predicting exactly how the Women's Title was to change hands.

Okay, that was my worst PPV… and in fact three of my TV shows have bettered it. For the first time I had a wrestler playing the Creative Control card, with Enygma refusing to put over Jumbo Jackson. I shouldn’t be too surprised – Enygma was more popular than I thought. In fact, he was more popular than when he was champion at the beginning of the year.

And it wasn’t just me noticing the disappointing show – the locker-room were also disappointed. I’m hoping this isn’t the beginning of a rocky relationship with the locker-room.

I shall admit, I do enjoy the backstage politics. Okay, so I've changed around the politics from a normal USPW game (Peter Valentine's fine, while Chris Caulfield and Nicky Champion like a whinge), but it's still fun.

I don’t know how this match got a C- rating when we put it on a month ago – we proved it was a fluke here. Devine pinned Al with the Devine Dream Drop.

Team Sublime defeated The Hillbillys in 4.31 (D)

Nicky Champion came out to celebrate becoming National Title Champion for the first time, and thanked the crowd for their support over the years at USPW. He started listing off more people to thank when Peter Valentine came out to tell him that he needed to thank the incompetent ref who awarded him the title lat night – despite using an illegal move – AND with a fast count! Champion feigned confusion, and asked for the pin to be replayed on the screen – a replay that disproved Valentine. Still Valentine insisted that the title was his, and demanded it was returned. Champion told him that the only way that was happening was by a meeting in the ring – and a rematch was set for the following week (D+)

Backstage, the Titans with Jack Griffith burst in on Sam Strong, and demanded to know the reasoning behind T-Rex being in the Number One contenders match later. Strong calmly put his feet up on his desk, telling Griffith it was a reward – he considered the four men in the Main Event Baine’s top contenders, and what better way to determine his contender? Griffith got in Strong’s face, telling him not to mess in their business – they left Savage Fury battered earlier this week, and they could easily repeat the trick against an old man (B)

Match #2: April Appleseed vs Joanne Rodriguez

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AprilAppleseed.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JoanneRodriguez_alt1.jpg

If anyone expected J-Ro to lose it would have almost certainly been due to Raven Robinson interference. Which did not come. So J-Ro won with the J-Rocker.

Joanne Rodriguez defeated April Appleseed in 5.48 (D)

After the match Raven Robinson did make an appearance, telling J-Ro that she felt let down and betrayed by someone who she considered a friend. J-Ro told Robinson that’s what made her so weak – it was all about the Women’s Title, and as champion she was a target. J-Ro did smile sweetly, saying that was no longer a problem. That brought the two women’s to blow, but the new Women’s Champion, Gorgon was out to make it 2 vs 1 before Alicia Strong made the save, forcing Gorgon and J-Ro to depart (D)

Chris Caulfield cut a short promotion out back, telling everyone that he wasn’t finished with Baine, and he would earn one last chance at the World Heavyweight Title – as that was all he needed (B+)

Demon Spite was shown backstage with Anger, and he asked him if this was really what he wanted. Anger said that Commissioner Doom had given him one more guaranteed match at USPW, and he could have asked for a title shot, but no – this was more personal. He wanted Jumbo Jackson, who stood back as he was thrown out of the Sneer Corporation, and he would make him feel pain (D+)

Match #3: Anger vs Jumbo Jackson

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DemonAnger.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JumboJackson.jpg

Actually quite a good match. The commentary team speculated whether this was Anger’s last match before he retired – it would have been if it has sucked, but it didn’t. After several minutes of domination by the veteran Shane Sneer dragged Anger from the ring – which wasn’t a good plan. Anger shoved Sneer to the floor and blasted Sneer over the head with a chair, and when Jackson slid out of the ring he was also met with a chair shot… for the DQ.

Jumbo Jackson defeated Anger in 5.37 by DQ (C-)

Anger threw down his chair and soaked up the crowd cheering, perhaps for the last time. Spite pointed at Jumbo Jackson, and Anger dragged him into the ring to hit the Demon Slam. When The Towers of Power came out Anger looked ready to take them on, but Spite convinced him that it was time to head off through the crowd (D+)

Match #4: Enygma and The Force vs The Towers of Power

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Enygma.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JimForce.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DannyRushmore.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/MickMuscles.jpg

This is more like what a show should look like. A decent match, but the fact that Jumbo Jackson and Shane Sneer remained ringside arguing proved only to distract the rest of the Sneer Corporation. Mick Muscles eventually had to split the two of them up, which left Danny Rushmore in the ring alone to fall to the Enygma Variation.

Enygma and The Force defeated The Towers of Power in 6.47 ©

Enygma and The Force left but still the argument between Jackson and Sneer continued, and eventually they were lead away from the ring, being held apart by The Towers on Power ©

Paige Croft interviewed Bruce the Giant, asking him how his loss to James Justice at Freedom Fight. At first Bruce looked angry, but this face softened, telling Croft she had a lot to learn. James Justice has just maddened the Giant, and although he might be all sweet backstage – in ring he means business (B+)

Before the next match we got a recap video of Freedom Fight, concentrating on Tyson Baine vs Chris Caulfield (B+)

Match #5: Tyson Baine © vs Des Davids in a non-title match

A Main Event worthy match, with Davids proving once again difficult to outmuscle. Difficult, but Baine did still manage it, and despite a valiant performance from the Tag Champion he fell to a Hades Bomb.

Tyson Baine © defeated Des Davids in 6.05 in a non-title match (C+)

James Justice was the last man to hype the Main Event, claiming to be the odd man out – he was the only man who slammed a Giant a Freedom Fight – the only man who could take the title off Tyson Baine (B)

Match #6: James Justice vs Chris Caulfield vs Bruce the Giant vs T-Rex for the #1 contendership to the USPW World Heavyweight Title

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Liberty.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/ChrisCaulfield_alt1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BrucetheGiant.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/T-Rex_alt1.jpg

To say that this was a slugfest would be a bit of an understatement. Although Caulfield and Justice worked well together, Bruce the Giant and T-Rex seemed to have no qualms about fighting with one another in an incredible display of no-selling. In the end as Bruce the Giant and Chris Caulfield exchanged blows outside the ring Justice hit the Liberation Slam on T-Rex in the ring, and no-one was able to make it in to break up the pin.

James Justice defeated Chris Caulfield, Bruce the Gaint and T-Rex in 12.34 to become the Number One Contender to the World Heavyweight Title (C+)

James Justice celebrated after the match as if he had won the title – and the crowd were happy to celebrate with him (B+)

Overall Rating C+

So, that’s not going to encourage people to buy a PPV, running a poor PPV and then following it with a quality TV show just two days later. I shall not moan too much – I’m entirely to blame, and I need to make sure that my PPV’s don’t drag too much. Turns out Baine’s match was higher rated than the Main Event – it was my fifth highest rated match of all time, while the Main Event didn’t feature in the Top 10.

Findlay again joined on loan – this time Al Coleman went the other way – and I’m really interested to see how he goes down in MAW. Hopefully the good show will mask how I misused the tag division in that show. Champions? One of them lost. Challengers? Yep, they lost too. At least that one was storyline driven….

However, even with the successful show, I refused to rest on my laurels. I convinced Sam to sign up to four new wrestlers. Unfortunately agreement couldn’t be made with Remmy Skye – his style was just too different to justify the money he was also asking. Also, no agreement was made with Lauren Easter, after she indicated that she would prioritise her NOTBPW dates. Two signings were made, only one of who will make the next show, He’s a newbie, but the other one has a USPW history…

First of all, predictable doesn't automatically equal bad. With no predictability, you get Vince Russo and nobody with a brain needs that. :p

But, J-Ro as a heel works right. Raven & Strong are the top faces, so you need a top heel who's also a decent worker.

The Force and The Shoot Club vs Jumbo Jackson and The Towers of Power - Shoot Club are (hopefully) jobbing their way to a decent popularity.

Nicky Champion © vs Peter Valentine for the USPW National Title - I'm tempted to go Valentine by CO to set-up a rematch at the PPV, but I think it's time for Valentine to step away from the title scene for a while.

Enygma vs Jack Griffith - Griffith's seems to have been brought in to be the Kane of USPW - win against people lower than him, but be a jobber to all the main eventers.

Chris Caulfield and James Justice vs Tyson Baine and Bruce the Giant - Heels get momentum back.

USPW American Wrestling:

Live from the Mid South

Pre-Show: Freddie Datsun defeated Jared Johnson (D+), Des Davids defeated Findlay and Darryl Devine (D-)

Match #1: The Force and The Shoot Club vs Jumbo Jackson and The Towers of Power

The Sneer Corporation did not look a happy unit in this match, with Jumbo Jackson ignoring instructions to tag out from Shane Sneer, and then tagging himself back in to his manager’s consternation. He did turn it into a win though, pinning Coleman after a Jumbo Avalanche.

Jumbo Jackson and The Towers of Power defeated The Force and The Shoot Club in 7.02 (D+)

Jackson turned around and told Sneer that he knew what he was doing… which started another argument with his manager. The Force tried to be a Good Samaritan and break things up, but instead got lashed out at by Jackson ©

We then went backstage to our regular “Titans try to intimidate Sam Strong” segment, this time Jack Griffith furious that Baine was being made to team with Bruce the Giant in the Main Event, despite the fact that T-Rex was not wrestling. Sam tried to play it cool and it looked as if The Titans were going to get physical… until Savage Fury dropped by to support Strong, and Griffith surmised that it was getting a little too busy in Sam’s office (B-)

Spite shook Anger’s hand before the next match, offering good luck. Anger thanked his colleague, admitting that if he didn’t win the title, this could be it for him (D+)

Match #2: Andre Jones © vs Anger for the USPW Television Title

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_TV.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AndreJones.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DemonAnger.jpg

Great match – if it was to be Anger’s last then I’m sure he will remember it well. Of course, having just discovered great chemistry and Anger having had his two best matches this year in consecutive weeks, am I really prepared to let him retire in peace? Jones hit the Blast from the Past (irony?) for the win.

Andre Jones © defeated Anger in 6.09 to retain the USPW Television Title (C-)

We cut backstage to where Peter Valentine was shown talking to Giant Redwood. He told his colleague that they needed to run through things again, to get it right. Redwood asked what he was getting out of it, to which an exasperated Valentine said anything he wanted – cash, ladies, chickens, whatever (D+)

Alicia Strong and Raven Robinson came down to the ring for their match with J-Ro and Gorgon, taking the opportunity to tell their opponents that the lesson has been learnt, and they’ll trust no-one, and keep their eyes on the prize (D+)

Match #3: Alicia Strong and Raven Robinson vs Joanne Rodriguez and Gorgon

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AliciaStrong.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/RavenNightfall_alt2.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JoanneRodriguez_alt1.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Gorgon.jpg

Another of our decent women’s matches that we only seem to run once a month, containing most of the top talent in the division outside Belle Bryden. Talking of whom, she and Cherry Bomb seemed to object to being sidelined by this feud, so made an impact in this match by launching into attacks on both sides, leading to the match being thrown out.

Alicia Strong and Raven Robinson went to a no contest with Joanne Rodriguez and Gorgon in 7.05 (C-)

Belle Bryden and Cherry Bomb slipped away, leading the match competitors looking stunned at what just happened (D+)

Backstage, Enygma was shown in Sam Strong’s office. Sam asked Enygma to do him a favour and cut out the evil tongue behind the Titan’s later by putting Jack Griffith in his place (B-)

Match #4: Nicky Champion © vs Peter Valentine for the USPW National Title

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_National.jpg

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/NickyChampion_alt.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/PeterValentine.jpg

No-one was surprised to see Giant Redwood out with Valentine, casually swinging a bat, but he seemed a little confused about his role. Peter Valentine had to keep shouting instructions at his colleague, causing him to lose momentum. Eventually Giant Redwood rolled into the ring, distracting the ref. Valentine looked around confused, before shouting “Where’s the bat?”. At that point Redwood seemed to remember that he was meant to leave the bat in Valentine’s reach… but still had it in his hand. Being cunning and quick-witted, he decided to casually chuck the bat to the former champion… catching him squarely in the head. As the ref forced Redwood out of the ring, Nicky Champion had the easy job of hitting a dazed Valentine with the Hawkeye Hammer to retain the title.

Nicky Champion © defeated Peter Valentine in 9.16 to retain the USPW National Title (D)

As Champion went backstage Valentine confronted Giant Redwood, furiously announcing “No chickens!” before stomping away (D)

Match #5: Enygma vs Jack Griffith

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Enygma.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JackGriffith.jpg

A decent match between the two men, with both comfortable working different styles, which is quite frankly unusual for the male members of the USPW roster. Enygma made Griffith submit to the Enygma Variation.

Enygma defeated Jack Griffith in 8.23 (C+)

Enygma’s celebration was short-lived as he was attacked by T-Rex, supported by Jack Griffith. Savage Fury were around to make the save, but Enygma looked a dazed man (B-)

James Justice was shown asking Chris Caulfield if they were good, after Justice was named Number One Contender last week. Caulfield said they were – he wanted the win tonight, and he knew that their one advantage was making a better partnership than Baine and Bruce (B+)

Match #6: Chris Caulfield and James Justice vs Tyson Baine and Bruce the Giant

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/ChrisCaulfield_alt1.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Liberty.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/TysonBaine.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BrucetheGiant.jpg

I was not expecting Enygma’s match to better this. Bruce and Tyson did not get on at all, leading to Bruce eventually stomping off. Faced with two opponents, Baine backed down, following Bruce to the back, leaving the two faces slightly frustrated winners.

Chris Caulfield and James Justice defeated Tyson Baine and Bruce the Giant in 6.35 by count out ©

Overall Rating C

4/6 all round, with BHK1978 correctly predicting a no contest, but picking the wrong match. jesseewiak does seem to have identified where Jack Griffith is fitting into my roster.

I was disappointed with the Main Event, be considering it was short and with an unsatisfying conclusion, I shouldn’t be too surprised. The show did produce its enjoyable moments – Anger finding good chemistry with Andre Jones, Enygma’s match with Jack Griffith… and Giant Redwood accidentally throwing a bat into Peter Valentine’s head. That resulted in getting no chickens.

We had another contract to negotiate, Seduction earning an extension. She hasn’t done much except looking pretty next to Darryl Devine, but there are plans for her.

Pre-Show: Andre Jones defeated Al Coleman (C, good chemistry, this will appear on TV sometime), Savage Fury defeated Kicks From Hell (Jared Johnson and someone by the name of John Pathlow) (D)

Unusually for us we opened the show with an angle – Jack Griffith’s hyping up next weeks Declaration of Independence, and the success that his two accompanied colleagues, Tyson Baine and T-Rex, would have over James Justice and Enygma respectively. Jack promised to showcase the destruction that Justice and Enygma would feel right now (B)

Jack Griffith didn’t even get a chance to tag into this one, with The Titans dominantly swatting away their opponents.

Jack Griffith and The Titans defeated The Hillbillys and Findlay in 4.12 (D)

As the heels left, celebrating they came across Sam Strong and Savage Fury. Strong asked them whether they were finished, or if they were going to stick around to see who else they could attack tonight. Griffith laughed off the insult, telling Strong that he didn’t have to worry; they were taking the night off (B-)

We cut to Commissioner Doom’s office, where Shane Sneer and Seduction were putting forward the case for a tag title match for The Towers of Power and Team Sublime respectively. Conclusion? They both get a shot next week (D)

Match #2: Marc Speed vs Jumbo Jackson

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/MarcSpeed.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JumboJackson.jpg

When I originally signed the Shoot Club it was as a way for introducing Marc Speed. Al Coleman has been equally as impressive, but Speed here put on his best singles match in USPW to date, even if it was in defeat to Jumbo Jackson. The Force joined the commentary team for the match, as he’ll take on Jackson at Declaration of Independence. But… just commentated.

Jumbo Jackson defeated Marc Speed in 5.49 (C-)

Belle Bryden and Cherry Bomb cut a promo together, asking if everyone had forgotten about them. Joanne Rodriguez and Gorgon were newcomers to USPW, who seemed to think they could push everyone else to one side. Cherry Bomb refused to let that happen, saying that they were here to stay (D+)

Match #3: Freddie Datsun vs Bruce the Giant

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/FreddieDatsun.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BrucetheGiant.jpg

A) I’m not having very competitive matches today, and B) The People’s Team seem to lose an awful lot of singles matches for Tag Champions. The crowd ate this match up though, making me regret moving it back from the pre-Main Event slot. Victory came with the Giant Chokeslam.

Bruce the Giant defeated Freddie Datsun in 5.50 (C+)

As Bruce the Giant celebrated Chris Caulfield came out to hype their match at Declaration of Independence. Caulfield told Bruce that he was just an object in his way – a large object, granted, but one that could me moved. And after pinning the giant he could go back to the title hunt (B+)

Match #4: Alicia Strong vs Belle Bryden vs Joanne Rodriguez

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/AliciaStrong.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/BelleBryden.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/JoanneRodriguez_alt1.jpg

Someday fans will be salivating about the prospect of this match, but I really need to build some heat up first. Former Women’s Champion Raven Robinson joined commentary and enjoyed Alicia Strong hitting the Strong Arm Tactic on J-Ro, but was surprised when Belle Bryden hit the Dish of the Day of Strong, pinning her for the win.

Belle Bryden defeated Alicia Strong and Joanne Rodriguez in 8.43 (D+)

Backstage, and we saw Peter Valentine and Giant Redwood in the locker-room, with Peter Valentine trying to tell Redwood where he went wrong the previous week… without much success. Redwood suddenly looked around distracted, saying that he smelt chicken, which made Valentine plant his head in his hands. Things only got worse when Nicky Champion walked in with a bucket of chicken, wafting it before Redwood. He pleaded for a piece of chicken, to which Champion handed over the entire bucket. As Giant Redwood tucked in Valentine told Champion that he wasn’t finished with him Champion stopped him, telling him he knew that, and he was sure that Valentine wanted another match at Declaration of Independence. Champion said that he had already sorted it, but also in that match was Giant Redwood… but whether he’s friend or foe probably depends on how much chicken Valentine has. The former champion shook as head as Redwood looked at his colleague blankly, gravy dripping from his lips (C-)

Paige Croft interviewed Enygma before his match, and she’s doing a damned fine job at this interviewing lark. Enygma said that last week T-Rex held the advantage over him – it was a two on one attack, from behind, after he had already wrestled. Enygma said on Monday things would be different – it would be one on one, man on man – and he knew what he could do (B)

Match #5: Enygma vs Darryl Devine

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Enygma.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DarrylDevine_alt1.jpg

Should have swapped this match with Bruce’s match, but this was still a decent match. Andre Jones and Seduction were ringside with Devine, but their minor interference was not enough to stop Enygma winning with the Enygma Cutter.

Enygma defeated Darryl Devine in 8.10 ©

Chris Caulfield and James Justice hyped the Main Event, before Justice moved onto Tyson Baine… and then Chris Caulfield. Justice told Caulfield that getting back on the title track wouldn’t mean a match with Tyson Baine – it would mean a match with him. Caulfield said that he didn’t care who he fought – friends or foe – as the title would be his (B+)

Match #6: Chris Caulfield and James Justice vs The Towers of Power

http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/ChrisCaulfield_alt1.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/Liberty.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/USPW_Declaration-1.jpghttp://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/DannyRushmore.jpg & http://i650.photobucket.com/albums/uu230/eayragt/USPW%2010/MickMuscles.jpg

Caulfield and Justice weren’t entirely together as a team, with the commentary team speculating that perhaps Caulfield’s words before the match were playing on Justice’s mind. Still, their supremacy eventually took over, and Justice got the win with a Liberation Slam on Rushmore.

Chris Caulfield and James Justice defeated The Towers of Power in 9.53 (C+)

Overall Rating C+

In general a predictable show, but no-one gave Belle Bryden the win, leaving BHK1978 and Dragonmack to share honours with 5/6 going into Declaration of Independence

Now, that was a better show. The last show before Declaration of Independence was not dragged down by interference between participants, but more of a showcase for the main players. It was also helped by Bruce the Giant buoying the locker-room before the show, holding a retirement part for Anger, even though the multiple time champion has yet to formerly retire.

Yes, that was former USPW worker John Pathlow. Credit to anyone who knows the name.

And you know how I said that I looked forward to seeing what MAW did with Al Coleman? They threw him straight into a Mid Atlantic Championship match with Mean Jean Cattley, and it’s their third best match this year. Their best is Cattley’s match with Darryl Devine from the Invitational.
