TEW 2010 worth the money?

Recommended Posts

<p>So TEW 2010's been out for some time now, would you say its worth the 34.95? I'm trying to figure out whether or not to spend my money on getting the game, the only thing holding me back is 35 bucks seems like a lot for a txt based game.</p><p> </p><p>

What do you think? Is it worth the money?</p><p> </p><p>

EDIT: And yea, I'm sure 450 other threads like this one are posted everywhere, so don't yell at me I'm new here <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Well, I have TEW 2010 and I have Smackdown vs Raw 10. I know which one cost more and 'looks' better.

And the one I have played far, far more of the two is the other one - TEW 2010.

In fact, I don't think I have ever known a game carry so much replay value as this series does. Basically, look at the demo and see if you seem to enjoy it. If so, the money involved to me is short change for the amount of pleasure you will get from it.

I've purchased no fewer than 40 copies of TEW2010 (probably closer to 50) and I'd buy more (I have 9 computers and 3 laptops but only 2 licenses) and don't regret a single one.

But I might be biased. :p

Despite how it might sound, 2010 is far superior to any previous edition of the series. Hands down.

And honestly, $35 is nothing for a GOOD game, no matter its basis (text or graphical). Compare that to $60 for a crappy console game. And TEW isn't a "good" game. Good games aspire to reach TEW's level of quality. In the last eight months, I've put more hours into playing TEW than every one of my MMO subs, combined (and I'm firmly in the 'hardcore' segment of the MMO population).

But again, consider my bias when reading that. :)

I would like to just make one point if I may...a large part of this forum is dedicated to TEW2010, a large number (I would guess the majority) of members have TEW2010, the forum is run by the company that developed TEW2010.

Does anyone that asks this question ever really think they will get any other answer than those that are above?

P.S. I love TEW2010 and it is definitely worth the price. If it comes down to food for a few days or the game, choose the game (it will keep you distracted from your hunger...)

if you are a wrestling fan and you like stuff like sims, civilization, things with strategic gameplay, then TEW is awesome. I finally took the plunge and bought 2010 and there's so much depth that a one month demo can't really get across.

yes, worth it even if you don't play the game 24/7. i try and book one card every couple of days - it's a fun timewaster!

I've purchased every TEW released, because they are worth every penny. I had the same reservations as you about the whole text only thing, but I knew how much i loved EWR, so I gave in and got TEW 2004, and never looked back.

For me, after months of continuous play, I get tired of it, and leave it alone for a while, and during that time, I start playing/editing/simming with Fire Pro Returns (probably the best console wrestling game ever) again, but I always eventually get the urge to play TEW again, then I switch back to it. It's very addicting.
