Steve Austin and Brian Pillman vs. The Steiner Brothers

Both teams showed lots of talent and experience in a good, long match in which Austin and Pillman came out victorious after Austin delivered a Stunner to Scott and pinned him. Austin had come in without actually being the legal man, when he clapped his hands to make a tagging sound while the ref was busy talking to Rick, who didn't feel the ref counted fast enough on a pin attempt by Scott on Pillman.

Winners: Steve Austin and Brian Pillman

Match length: 17:05

Rating: C+

WCW Cruiserweight Championship ladder match:

Dean Malenko vs. Sabu vs. Chris Jericho © vs. Jushin Liger vs. Tiger King vs. Ultimo Dragon

We turn backstage where something shocking has just happened: Randy Savage has been found unconcious and bloody, the victim of an assault! Medics are checking him and he is stretchered away, declared unable to compete tonight!

Rating: B

Loser leaves town match:

Tito Santana vs. Greg Valentine

With much on stake in this match, both of these veterans gave it their all. After a couple of near falls, Valentine locked in the Figure Four Leglock on Santana, and it looked as though Valentine would succeed to win the match. However, Santana somehow managed to reverse the Figure Four and lock in Valentine, who eventually tapped out.

Winner: Tito Santana

Match length: 9:14

WCW World Television Championship match:

Johnny B. Badd vs. Genichiro Tenryu vs. Diamond Dallas Page ©

It was an open match, but Badd seemed to get the advantage in the end of the match. After delivering not one, but two Tutti Frutti's to DDP, he made 3-roll ups on Tenryu that all got to the count of 2. Badd then won the match when Tenryu, angry about Badd's constant pin attempts, was DQed after refusing to let go of a Chokehold. As a result of the DQ, DDP retained his title.

Ric Flair is in the ring with a mic. He says that it's a huge shame that Randy Savage seems to have fallen ill and won't be able to perform tonight. But in order to not dissapoint the crowd, he, the great Nature Boy, has graciously agreed to replace Savage in the title match later tonight, being runner up at World War 3. Woo! Woooo!

Match length: 17:58

Rating: B

WCW United States Championship match:

Ron Simmons vs. Vader vs. Atsushi Onita ©

In an awesome match with several near-falls that always seemed to be able to go to either side, Simmons performed a powerslam to Vader, in the same manner he won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship from him in 1992, and was about to pin him when Onita, having previously been down from a Vader Bomb, surprised Simmons with a DDT and managed to get the 1-2-3 before Vader managed to break it up.

Winner, and still champion: Atsushi Onita

Match length: 16:42

Rating: B+

Job vs. Dungeon match:

Hulk Hogan vs. Jake Roberts

It was clear to all how much was on stake in this great match that had both men fired up. Although Savage could not have Hogan's back as promises, due to the assault that rendered him unconcious earlier tonight, Hogan was aided by Sting, Lex Luger (who was seemingly only there because Sting made him), Ron Simmons and The Renegade - who all prevented the rest of The Dungeon of Doom from interfering in the match, fighting off Meng, Shark, Zodiac and The Taskmaster as they approached. With no outside interfernce, this match was all about the two competitors in the ring. At one point, it looked as if Roberts would pin Hogan after a deadly DDT, but Hogan broke the pin at 2 and hulked up. He then proceeded to perform his signature Big Boot followed by a Leg Drop, and the crowd was hot for Hogan to make the pin and end The Dungeon when Jimmy Hark shocking entered the ring and hit Roberts softly with his megaphone, thus disqualifying Hogan! A shocked Hogan lost the match and will now have to leave WCW! Hart rolled out before Hogan could get his hands on him and escaped through the audience.

Winner: Jake Roberts

Match length: 13:44

Rating: B+

Following the match, Hogan grabbed a mic and expressed ooutmost dissapointment and shock that his trusted manager, Jimmy Hart, had betrayed him. He said his farewells to the crowd, his fans and his allies. He says that he's had a great time in WCW and that he hopes to be able to come back some day. He reminded his fans to never give up and that the power of Hulkamia would always be with them, brothers!

WCW World Heavyweight Championship match:

Ric Flair vs. The Giant ©

It was experience against power in this match where the rest of the Four Horsemen throughout helped Flair in his efforts. The Dirtiest Player in The Game had laid out a perfect plan, having his Horsemen spread out and take turns to distract the ref while the others interfered on Flair's behalf. The powerful Giant held out for long, but could not fight off 4 men in the long run and had to succumb after Austin delivered a Stunner to him, after which Flair made the pin - marking the first time The Giant ever got pinned.

Ron Simmons is in the ring, calling out Vader. He says that last night, they got in each other's way when competing for the WCW United States Championship. Simmons says that was far from the first time they crossed each other's paths and that Vader was involved in one of the happiest moments of his life when he took the WCW World Heavyweight Championship belt off him in 1992. But he was also part of one of the saddest moments of his life when he lost the belt to Vader again later that year. Now, the time has come for them to settle once and for all who is the better wrestler! Vader responds by saying that it is inded time... it's Vader time!

Rating: C+

The Taskmaster then comes to the ring to giant boos. He says that he cannot express how happy and satisfied he is with Hogan's departure from WCW following his loss to Roberts yesterday. For many months, his sole goal and purpose was to destroy Hulk Hogan - and now, finally, he has reached the goal. He is therefore at peace with himself and The Dungeon of Doom no longer serves a purpose, and will therefore be dissolved. However, before that they still have to take care of one small matter...

WCW World Tag Team Championship match:

Harlem Heat vs. Sting and Lex Luger ©

In another re-match from last night, these two strong tag teams once again clashed in a great match. The match was decided after all 4 wrestlers were brawling, with Luger and Stevie Ray, who was the legal man for Harlem Heat, ending up on the outside. Being distracted by the action in the ring, where Sting was giving chops to Booker T, the ref did not see Luger hit Stevie Ray with a chairshot to the head before rolling him back into the ring for an unsuspecting Sting to pin.

Winners, and still champions: Sting and Lex Luger

Match length: 11:27

After the match, Sting grabbed a mic and assured everyone that he had not forgotten being attacked by a masked assailant at World War 3 and that he was still looking for him. He warned the masked man that he would find him sooner or later, and that Sting will make him regret his actions.

Ron Simmons vs. Vader

This match had great action and excitement. Both men took turns being in charge but Vader seemed to gain the upper hand after a Power Slam on Simmons. Vader then got to the top rope and was about to dive down upon Simmons when Simmons got up quickly and reversed it into a Power Slam of his own on Vader from the top rope, after which he pinned him.

Flair came out with Arn Anderson for this match, and his fellow Horseman constantly attempted to distract The Giant. It was not Anderson, nor any other Horseman for that matter, who ended up influencing the result of the match... but The Dungeon of Doom, who all rushed the ring and attacked The Giant, who then won by DQ. It appears this was the final thing The Taskmaster was hinting that they had to do before dissolving, which must have been final payback for The Giant leaving them...

Wrestling Scoops International reports that the shocking departure of Hulk Hogan from WCW is not just a storyline, and that he has indeed left WCW - and signed a contract with his former employer through many yeats, WWF! The reason for this appears to be a problem with WCW and Hogan agreeing on a new contract, as Ted Turner for reasons unknown temporarily closed the money tank. This is said to have frustrated many within WCW, as losing Hogan to WWF at this time is a major defeat to the ambitious promotion. Inside sources suggest that WCW might put more focus on turning some of their many very talented workers into major stars instead of relying solely on big name veterans, as has been more or less done so far. This has yet to be confirmed, however.

Hogan is gone...

That is going to change things up a bit. Should be interesting to see where things go without Hulkamania being apart of WCW.

Yes, it was very unfortunate. It happened due to a bug with the amount of cash you can offer a worker which should now be fixed. Too late for Hogan, but hopefully it'll prevent me from losing all my other stars as well. :)

It does change things a lot, of course, as I had plans for Hogan. But eh, I take it as a challenge - and I already have new ideas replacing my old ones that I personally find even more interesting than the old ones with Hogan.

True. I now have more of an excuse to do things much more different than the historical path WCW took. And one way or the other, it was a huge relief finally getting rid of the dumb Hogan vs. Dungeon of Doom storyline that really hurt me having to continue.

It doesn't look like I'll be able to do an nWo storyline anytime soon (apart from losing Hogan, it doesn't seem likely that I'll surpass WWF enough to lure any of their big names away for the near future), but I already have a replacement storyline ready - which will seem familiar in many ways but in a vastly different environment and time. It won't unfold just yet, though.

He says he showed the top star of the company the door, and that he's going to replace him at the top. Ron Simmons then interrupts him, saying that what he was a part of is nothing to boast and brag about and that he could never have done it had the sleezbag Jimmy Hart not betrayed Hogan. The two argue for a while, and agree to settle it in a match later tonight!

The Blue Bloods vs. Harlem Heat

In an open match between two teams that recentely both missed chances at the tag team belts, Bokker T pinned Eaton when using the ropes as leverage. Both teams did their fair share of cheating throughout the match.

Match length: 7:12

Sting is in the ring, saying that last week it finally became clear to him who the masked attacker was that cost him the prestigeous match at World War 3 against Ric Flair and attacked him against last week and that he was blind not to see it sooner; Rick Rude. He calls out Rude to explain himself, and after about a minute Rude appears on the ramp. He says that Sting brought this on himself. Sting cost Rude his carreer when injuring him on purpose in 1994 and is not the hero the blind fans see him as. His constant wreckless and tasteless behaviour has no boundries, but he always hide his true face so that the brainless zombies in the audience cannot see him for who he is. The latest example has been Luger's cheating in tag team matches, which had them steal the belts from a hard working team as The American Males. And right as he said that, Bagwell and Riggs appear from the crowd and takes out Sting, after which all three of them beat on him untill Luger comes out to make the save.

Rating: B-

A video shows Rude, under a mask, attack Sting at World War 3 in his cage match against Ric Flair, knocking Sting down from his cage escape attempt and allowing Flair to escape instead.

Ron Simmons vs. Jake Roberts

In a good match, Simmons accidentally knocked down the ref with a clothesline. Roberts used that opportunity to bring a chair to the ring, which he took a swing at Simmons with. However, Simmons avoided the blast and managed to grab the chair from Roberts and hit him instead. With Roberts laid out, Simmons went for the pin - but since the ref was down, he didn't get the pin. Simmons waited for a while, with Roberts completely out, untill he went to actively try to get the ref up. While trying to resurrect the ref, Roberts got up and ambushed Simmons, delivering a DDT onto the chair. He then succeeded to wake the ref and get the pin, after throwing the chair out of the ring.

Winner: Jake Roberts

Match length: 7:03

Randy Savage, The Giant and The Steiner Brothers vs. The Four Horsemen (Flair, Anderson, Austin and Pillman)

This match was pretty great and held plenty of excitement, giving the crowd a taste of whatøs to come at the Supershow when Savage, The Giant and Flair cross paths. The Horsemen used every dirty trick in the book, likely courtesy of Flair, but eventually fell short: Anderson and The Giant were the legal men when Anderson attempted a DDT on The Giant. However, The Giant pushed Anderson away and instead delivered a Chokeslam to him, after which he got the pin while his team mates prevented the rest of the Horsemen from breaking up the pin. In the brawl that ensued, The Giant Chokeslammed both Savage and Flair as well before leaving.

Winners: Randy Savage, The Giant and The Steiner Brothers

News of The Wrestling World reports that due to unexpected poor responses to their shows since they premiered Nitro last September and later Thunder in December, WCW has fallen drastically in status and is now far behind WWF. Most fans consider WCW to have gone so far as to be compareable to ECW, who's considered to be a cult company by most fans. Some are even speculating that WCW will be out of business within 6 months, but hopefully it won't come to that. This will likely have consqeuences, however, which have yet to be seen. There have supposedly been talks to either move Thunder to USA and abandon the Japanese market or cancelling Thunder alltogether while expanding Nitro with an additional hour instead, but nothing is yet final. We'll keep you updated.

Backstage, Eric Bischoff is seen arguing with Sonny Onoo. It seems that Onoo has not brought his two title holders, Jushin Liger and Atsushi Onita - or any of his Japanese workers at all - to this event, in spite of Bischoff having announced that all titles were to be on the line tonight. It seems that according to Onoo's contract with Ted Turner, he is only obligated to send them to Pay Per Views, which this is not. WCW World Television Championship match:

Randy Savage vs. The Giant vs. Ric Flair ©

This match really had the crowd going, and for good reasons. It was a great match with several nice spots after starting old school with a slow build. The crowd as at the edge of their seats near the end, after multiple near-falls. At the very end The Giant Choke Slammed Savage after which Flair attacked him from behind, knocking him down and submitting him to a Figure Four Leg Lock. A struggling Giant managed to get hold of the ropes before having to tap out, making the ref break the hold. A visibly damaged Giant then rolled out of the ring while Savage got up and performed a Piledriver to Ric Flair, after which he went for the pin. Is your plan to push the Japanese workers to the top of the card? They seem to be putting on your best ratings. Also if you use Sting, and Flair more often you should be able to get better ratings.

Are Renegades stats bad? He seemed to have a star quality that could be used to his advantage. Push him as a monster face going thru midcard heels with ease. That could possibly get him over. Not sure if that is the direction you want to go considering he would probably need a manager as a mouth piece.

Yes, my whole idea behind airing Thunder from Japan (but having it shown in USA) is to get the Japanese workers over in USA so I can use them at the top of the card there. But I haven't been able to get as many interesting Japanese workers as I had hoped, so my ranks are a bit thin there. And now that I dropped to cult, it will be hard to attract more. Also since I became cult, my tv network has complained about the ratings for Saturday Night and Thunder - which in the case of SN is understandable, since it's just a B-show and naturally doesn't get good ratings. But Thunder has always garnered some damn impressing ratings, and the last rating before the complaint was the next-highest rating any tv show in the ingame world has gotten so far (with the highest also being set by Thunder)! So kinda weird if they end up cancelling the show, I'd say...

You are right about me needing to use Sting and Flair on more shows, it's just hard for me with only 1 hour on Nitro and trying to make Thunder seperate from Nitro for the time being. About Renegade, I actually always liked him... but I'd rather not try to push too many people with low psychology and/or selling.

But eh, I have high confidence that I'll be able to turn this thing around. Just too bad it'll be 6 whole months before I can rise in status again... but by then I should at least be able to get more stable show ratings.

Thanks for your input, always interesting to hear thoughts and suggestions. :)
