ShadowedFlames
Okay, folks, here's the situation. Absolutely no work got done on the show yesterday while I was at work (where I try to do the bulk of my writing) because people decided to make my Friday busy. Y'all saw MLT's note above. I'm about to get started with the show now; once again I will have to delay full entrances another week due to not having time to fully flesh them out prior to the show. The one major thing to come out of the last two weeks is that for the remainder of the season, shows will be posted on Saturday instead of Friday like I had been doing over the last few months. This way, if work decides to really be a pain I'll still have time to work on the show before my self-imposed deadline. Preview shows (and thus my predictions) will be posted on Monday evenings. Training PM and prediction deadlines will also be pushed back a day to compensate for this. Any matches where both participants get their PM's to me early can be run as soon as both are in and I've made relevant changes to the database; this should help in the event of a ton of work being dumped on me. And with that, I'm off to get cracking on the week 2 show. Can't promise you a concrete time for it to show up--remember, I've got a 43 minute match to divide up--but I will assure folks that the show will be up before the end of the day (US time). EDIT: Good lord man, don't taunt us like that! We must know the important details of the show! Such as "Do I look great in these tights, or what?" I was asked to relay a message from MLT for you, sir. Message reads: "No, because I look better in my spandex."

Not really. Still just in a state of shock I guess. Random spots of tears. Anyway you guys rock for understanding. SF says the show should be up in a half hour or so. ShadowedFlames
Season Two, Week Two Exeter, England October 16, 2010 The camera fades in to a shot of League Commissioner Colt Marshall, sitting in his office and facing said camera. Colt Marshall: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I've been asked to inform you, the viewing audience, that due to the amount of action this week, the show has been edited slightly to fit within the two-hour time block allowed by our broadcast partners. Most of the entrances and preliminary commentary has been eliminated to make the show fit in the window allotted to it. On behalf of the League, I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and ask that you stay tuned as this show promises to be one of the most competitive shows we've held to date. The shot remains on Colt's face as the scene fades to black. THE LEAGUE: WEEK TWO Instead of the usual shot of a capacity crowd filling the stadium—in this case, Sandy Park in Exeter, England—as pyro goes off, we instead cut right to the first match, with both participants already in the ring. Derek B
Oh ho! Nuclear is going to cause all kinds of pain to SG Raaize next week and then follow that up by sending Sean to the hospital in the league's first ever medical disqualification... might be a little early to say this, but I feel Nuclear is going to have a perfect season. I also totally did not just jinx myself. ALPHA DIVISION: SGRaaize (1-1, 14%) vs. Nuclear Templeton (2-0, 16%) BETA DIVISION: Sebastian Moore (1-1, 15%) vs. Thor Hammerskald (0-2, 15%) ALPHA DIVISION: Ly Quang Bao (0-2, 15%) vs. Robbie Maynard (1-1, 17%) El Demonio de Sangre (0-2, 15%) vs. Diamond (0-2, 21%) Tarik Nolan (1-1, 16%) vs. Super Century (0-2, 21%) FIRST BLOOD: The Phoenix (2-0, 26%) vs. Scott Stevens (2-0, 19%) Sean (2-0, 25%) vs. Johnny Triumph (1-1, 22%) BETA DIVISION: Shawn Arrows (1-1, 33%) vs. Maxx Skabb (2-0, 30%) And that has to be the most heated main event match yet... look at the popularity percentages, they are off the charts! Derek B
My head is weaker than yours, that will prove to be a important point when we both go Lariat-Mode It could go either way... unless you get medical DQed by having your body reduced to 0 or two other parts reduced to 0, it's all a roll of the dice. Nuclear has started well, but it's still too early in the careers of everyone to really have anyone with a high likelyhood of beating anyone else. Even so... Nuclear is totally gonna brutalise ya. For funsies. NUCLEAR LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I mark for Nuclear. “AAAAAARRRRRRRMAAAAAAAGEDDDOOOOOON LAAAAAAAARRRIIIIIIIIIIIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTOOOOO!!!!!” Nuclear is a guy I always try to make in TEW but have never really managed to push. I love the concept in my head but I can't get it written. This makes me sad... but at least he's badass enough to get fans even while I'm being lame at him. Maybe we need to add an extra reward to match of the night participants like 1.5X healing or something next year (call it being in the zone). The Phoenix actually looks to be rising from the ashes. Also if Triumphs Doctor is unethical then Sean’s is nonexistent.

ShadowedFlames
Also, you made a mistake in the write up ShadowedFlames. The Century Splash isn't a 450 splash, it is a Frog Splash. Any mistakes are made in-character, so that way when they are proven wrong the other announcer can sit back and laugh at them. SeanMcG
Urgent Newsflash: As of last night, relatively unknown league wrestler Sean has apparently fired his former medical adviser: http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/2533/drnickr2.jpg A replacement has yet to be acknowledged, but it is thought that no-one instead would be a better alternative. Jokes aside, onto this weeks picks ALPHA DIVISION: SGRaaize (1-1, 14%) vs. Nuclear Templeton (2-0, 16%) I'm gonna back the Portuguese in this international showdown and my pick for MOTN. Should be a great match/ Lariat War BETA DIVISION: Sebastian Moore (1-1, 15%) vs. Thor Hammerskald (0-2, 15%) Picked the winning record, with the two new people ALPHA DIVISION: Ly Quang Bao (0-2, 15%) vs. Robbie Maynard (1-1, 17%) L.Q.B hasn't really shown anything, yet. So Maynard in a quick one El Demonio de Sangre (0-2, 15%) vs. Diamond (0-2, 21%) Come on Diamond, still waiting for you to get that 1st win on the board Tarik Nolan (1-1, 16%) vs. Super Century (0-2, 21%) Now, I basing this on last weeks match, which hopefully I did something to Tarik, despite being on the receiving end of most of the match. FIRST BLOOD: The Phoenix (2-0, 26%) vs. Scott Stevens (2-0, 19%) Phoenix as this years jumper, rising from the ashes as someone else said earlier. Glad its not me in this match. Sean (2-0, 25%) vs. Johnny Triumph (1-1, 22%) Always pick yourself, no matter how beaten, crippled or half dead you may appear to be, hopefully this ends mercifully quick either way. BETA DIVISION: Shawn Arrows (1-1, 33%) vs. Maxx Skabb (2-0, 30%) Big main event, and I'm picking the more popular Arrow's in an upset. Despite this being to most popular match-up to date, I do believe that this will end quick.

Wrestling Century
Any mistakes are made in-character, so that way when they are proven wrong the other announcer can sit back and laugh at them. (All kidding aside, I apologize--with trying to do commentary off the top of my head and without notes to work with I'm bound to make mistakes.) That's okay, I just like correcting people. Also earning top honors for last week with six points was myself, with seven other players coming away with five points. Here's how the table looks after week two: 1. I effin rule: 12 points 2 (tie). Jman2k3, masterded, Tori Montgomery: 11 points 5 (tie). Derek_b, moon_lit_tears: 10 points 7 (tie). Jaded, TheKenwyne: 9 points 9. Prophet: 8 points 10. Ranson: 7 points 11. Wrestling Century: 6 points 12 (tie). Dangrel, SeanMcG: 5 points 14. Toasty: 4 points 15. Arrows: 3 points I'm going to be introducing a new feature this week. As the popularity of the League has grown, the amount of bets placed on League matches in Las Vegas has grown to be quite a large number. The management of Beyond Ringside has struck a preliminary deal with a former chief bookmaker in Las Vegas, who will provide fair booking odds for the matches in the League. Note that these lines will not be the lines you will see in Vegas; these are designed to be fair and without the bookmaker's profit factored in. {Editor's Note / Disclaimer: This is not meant to be used for any real-life gambling; this is just another one of the formulae I've been toying with to try to make the League closer to an actual combat sport than pro wrestling. These are provided for entertainment purposes only.} That said, we return to the US this week, specifically Richmond, Virginia and what promises to be a highly competitive main event. Divisional action continues for half the League this week; let's see what's on the card for this show. WEEK THREE: RICHMOND, VIRGINIA (US—Mid-Atlantic) (American style crowd, Sports Entertainment match, ref bumps allowed) ALPHA DIVISION: SGRaaize (1-1, 14%) vs. Nuclear Templeton (2-0, 16%) Favorite: Templeton, 4-5 ($1 bet returns $1.80) Underdog: Raaize, 6-5 ($1 bet returns $2.20) Nuclear leads this series, 1-0. Plus he is in better physical shape at the moment, and I've gotten word from his camp that he is hard at work on a new finishing maneuver. I think he'll walk away with this one, but it will not come easy for him. Tori's Pick: Nuclear Templeton, via pinfall (Armageddon Lariat), 17:10, B- BETA DIVISION: Sebastian Moore (1-1, 15%) vs. Thor Hammerskald (0-2, 15%) Both participants are at even money. ($1 bet returns $2) Thor is in better shape right now, plus his offensive game is much more overpowering than Moore's is. That's where my pick is going. Tori's Pick: Thor Hammerskald, via pinfall (Fenrir Strike), 8:40, D ALPHA DIVISION: Ly Quang Bao (0-2, 15%) vs. Robbie Maynard (1-1, 17%) Favorite: Bao, 4-7 ($1 bet returns $1.75) Underdog: Maynard, 7-3 ($1 bet returns $2.30) Bao is only the favorite because Maynard is so beaten up from the past few weeks. That said, I have no qualms about picking Maynard as he is the proven commodity in this match-up. Tori's Pick: Robbie Maynard, via submission (Merseyside Maul), 12:40, C El Demonio de Sangre (0-2, 15%) vs. Diamond (0-2, 21%) Favorite: El Demonio, 4-5 ($1 bet returns $1.80) Underdog: Diamond, 6-5 ($1 bet returns $2.20) Diamond is trusting her higher popularity and athletic prowess to see her through; Demonio is hoping his better condition will suffice. Me? I'm going with the woman in this one. Dark horse candidate for match of the night, as well. Tori's Pick: Diamond, via pinfall (Springboard Moonsault), 19:40, A Tarik Nolan (1-1, 16%) vs. Super Century (0-2, 21%) Both participants are at even money. ($1 bet returns $2) I actually have Century as the slight favorite in this, on the strength of his physical condition. That said, Nolan has freakish power and that advantage could be eliminated quickly. Going with Tarik in this one. Tori's Pick: Tarik Nolan, via pinfall (Regulator), 9:40, C FIRST BLOOD: The Phoenix (2-0, 26%) vs. Scott Stevens (2-0, 19%) Both participants are at even money. ($1 bet returns $2) Someone's got to bleed to taste their first loss of the season. Phoenix is 0-1 in First Blood matches in the League, but he's got more power behind his shots than Stevens does, plus he's in slightly better overall health. Until he reverts to last season's form, I'm sticking with the guy. Tori's Pick: The Phoenix, 19:50, B+ Sean (2-0, 25%) vs. Johnny Triumph (1-1, 22%) Favorite: Triumph, 4-5 ($1 bet returns $1.80) Underdog: Sean, 6-5 ($1 bet returns $2.20) How Sean is still that close in the Vegas odds is beyond me. I do not see this one taking very long, unfortunately, as Triumph narrows his series deficit to 2-1 in Sean's favor. Tori's Pick: Johnny Triumph, via medical disqualification, 8:30, D BETA DIVISION: Shawn Arrows (1-1, 33%) vs. Maxx Skabb (2-0, 30%) Both participants are at even money. ($1 bet returns $2) Skabb has the massive power advantage, and the technical advantage coming in. Arrows has the bigger fan base, and his smaller frame takes less oxygen to run. I'm calling this as the probable match of the night, and I'm going out on a limb to say that Arrows evens the series with a win here. Tori's Pick: Shawn Arrows, via pinfall (Flying Body Press), 28:50, A* One of the most famous arenas in the US hosts the League next week. That's right, folks, Madison Square Garden plays host next week, and I expect a standing-room-only crowd. Until then, this is Tori Montgomery...so long from ringside! WEEK THREE: RICHMOND, VIRGINIA (US: Mid-Atlantic) ALPHA DIVISION: SGRaaize (1-1, 14%) vs. Nuclear Templeton (2-0, 16%) BETA DIVISION: Sebastian Moore (1-1, 15%) vs. Thor Hammerskald (0-2, 15%) ALPHA DIVISION: Ly Quang Bao (0-2, 15%) vs. Robbie Maynard (1-1, 17%) El Demonio de Sangre (0-2, 15%) vs. Diamond (0-2, 21%) Tarik Nolan (1-1, 16%) vs. Super Century (0-2, 21%) FIRST BLOOD: The Phoenix (2-0, 26%) vs. Scott Stevens (2-0, 19%) Sean (2-0, 25%) vs. Johnny Triumph (1-1, 22%) BETA DIVISION: Shawn Arrows (1-1, 33%) vs. Maxx Skabb (2-0, 30%) EDIT: I will be doing most of the database work tonight; I'll update pages tomorrow or Wednesday as time allows.
