I might sign him and never use him for 10 years, give him a really awesome camp and let him own people. He's officially my new favourite fighter ever. It's when I overpay a fighter, feed him weaklings to get him wins, get him a title shot ASAP, then protect him as champion by feeding him weaklings again. I do it just when a given fighter just... I don't know... has that IT-FACTOR that I can't ignore, and I want to keep him forever regardless of his actual record, rep, or credibility. The fighters I gave the JJ Reid Treatment to in my campaign so far are JJ Reid (obviously), Kimie Igarashi, Akemi Satou, Leon Banks, and William Harrison. Banks and Harrison have earned the JJ Reid Treatment, but the rest haven't... not that I care. That's the point of the JJ Reid Treatment: having that one (or five) fighter you just want to keep forever! I pay Akemi $10,000 per match, even with an 0-7 record, which is pissing off my entire women's division, but I don't care. I'm sure the hardcore MMA fans around here can tell me a real fighter who gets the real-life equivalent of my JJ Reid Treatment... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

xspudx Posted July 7, 2010 Author Share Posted July 7, 2010 William Harrison actually grew into quite the prospect in one of my earlier games. I think he got beat once or twice a few fights after feeding him the cans and contenders and whatnot, then I organised a 4 man tournament I believe, coulda been 8 but I'm not sure to decide who my Cruiser champion would be, and he slaughtered everyone. However, his contract was up and I didn't think he'd get to the finals so I wasn't fussed about the renewal so he left my company and went to GAMMA I think and just dominated there.
