I might play the remake of VII if it ever gets released.

I'm kind of in the same boat right now, though I remained a fan of the series a lot later than you did. I was a HUGE Final Fantasy fan growing up. It was my favorite series for sure, starting with playing IV on the SNES when my dad's friend picked it up at a flea market for like $5. VI might still be my favorite game ever, and I stayed with it through the end of the PS2 era, though I never did finish VIII. XII blew my mind for the first 20-30 hours probably only to really fall apart at the end. I bought XIII not long after it came out and played it for probably 15-20 hours before getting bored with it. That's when I started playing Dragon Age: Origins, and I've basically never looked back. I don't know if the quality of their games has dropped or if my tastes have just changed as I've gotten older, but games like Mass Effect/Dragon Age/Witcher are what really capture my attention these days.

Those games have the grand whammy of gameplay/graphics/narrative. Imo that form of presentation is best to deliver an epic to a casual audience. There are very few people who didn't like the mentioned games (barring those who disliked the ending). I hated DA2 as it came across as a very lazy effort from the devs, and quite frankly I stopped playing DA3 early as I felt it played too much like an MMO in terms of generic missions/gameplay. DA1 was GotY for me but then again... that was a dry year for games imho.

My gaming history didn't allow me to play FF that early. I had to play them through emulators around 2k1 or more recently. I always ended up with the underdog consoles [GENESIS - N64 - GC - X360 - XOne] but I was glad to have them nontheless. This generation (Xone) is the first time I really regret having taken this console, or a console at all for that matter. Aside from a GC I had everything else at one point late in the era (PS2, DC, XBOX), but no time or cash to get all the good games.

Maybe someone here is interested in GRID Autosport Drag Pack DLC (Steam code)? I guess not for full price, but at least for a half price? If yes, then PM me!

P.S. You will need GRID Autosport to activate this DLC in Steam.

A adventure horror game, Cayne, is free since yesterday on GOG. It's supposedly quite good and quite short, so excellent for someone who's in need of an evening of entertainment. They made it free to promote their other, more lenghty game: Stasis.

Finally finished Witcher III main and wasn't disappointed about the ending, unlike some people I saw complaining on some boards. It was fine. The expansion is great so far.

Finished Batman: Arkham Knight to conclude the series. Or, rather, I finished the main story - I couldn't be bothered finishing the Riddler arch and was fed up with the Batmobile stuff. I must say, it was the by fear weakest entry of the bunch. The Batmobile missions were a fun gimmick for a short while, but was featured waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too heavily in the game. To the point where it became a giant pain in the buttocks.

The story itself was interesting at times and had some great elements, but ultimately didn't pan out too well in my opinion. Arkham Knight was a breath of fresh air and intrigued me greatly - but once it became obvious who it was, they dragged out the reveal for way too long. And while I absolutely love the voice of John Noble, he didn't feel right to me as Scarecrow.

Overall, still a fun (but too long) game - but without the memorable moments of the other games in the series. Even Origins was a far better game in almost every aspect.

I skipped Origins, but I think AK was great, mainly for immersion's sake. I almost didn't do any of the sidequests as they seemed uninteresting, but the main story - though bland and cliché - was fair enough. But mainly the gfx and atmosphere was great, and that made for an enjoyable ride.

I agree on the graphics and atmosphere. But the Batmobile parts nearly ruined it for me...

It had the weakest sidequests of the entire series though. The best one was probably the Mad Hatter sidequest, which was a DLC.

Follow him, punch him again. Follow him a third time, punch him again, this time it knocks him out for some reason. So boring and uninspired.

Of that bunch, I liked Manbat the most - but that's not saying a lot, really...

I just finished Mafia III.

Repetitive, but some goods things : The radio, the gunfight, the amount of details (playboy magazine with the cover and and the nude picture) cover album, cops that don't come often in the black neighborhood. The end of the game is also pretty decent, with a big surprise in the end credit

From what I see it should be coming out sometime soon (Q2 Japan 2017) for both PS4 and Steam.

If you want better gfx, try ProWrestlingX. Today i heard Adam was actually on the dev team. Anybody that can confirm this? Could this mean Cverse support. How awesome would that be... I backed it after the announcement but the version I played was VERY limited. But apparently its improved atm.

Where did you hear that?

Sorry Adam, it was a wrong assumption (and wishful thinking) from my part.

On their blog, they posted this:

Welcome (back) to the PC master race, Fire Pro! The Pro Wrestling X crew, Mat Dickie, Adam Ryland, and Dave Horn’s Chikara Action Arcade Wrestling team have all been waiting for you to come join the party!

As it's rude to talk in someone else's name, I assumed you at least had some contact or were developing the game together. Now that I've googled a little, they just mentioned all the players in the indy wrestling games field. Nothing inherently wrong with that.

Wow 10 days with no comments. Never seen that on this thread personally.

Anyways right now I'm planning on going on an RPG spree. Bought a bunch of MegaTen games on sale for the PS3.

Anyways this is the list I have at the moment

PC

Baldur Gate 2 (Finished 1 recently)

Witcher 3 (My computer is having trouble running it. Probably need a fan to keep the PC cool)

Pillars of Eternity (Bought the DLC last week)

Avadon 1 and 2

Stranger of Sword City

Sunless Sea

Recettear (Capitalism, Ho!)

PS2/3

Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2

Raidou Kuzunoha 1 and 2

SMT: Nocturne

Tales of Xillia 1 and 2

Tales of Zestiria

Vita

Trails of Cold Steel

Oreshika

Tales of Heart R (Which for some reason shows up on my PS download list but I've never bought. Isn't even a PS Plus free game)

Digimon Cyber Story (I'm on chapter 20+. Killing time doing side missions and filling out roster)

Conception 2

Lots of games. Probably going to tackle the MegaTen ones and leave the Vita games for when I'm traveling. The PC Games will probably be last since I tend to cheat when bored or unmotivated.
