Well they have to find some middle ground between a scripted story and a . Like I mentioned earlier, I liked the DoR games as they gave you great gameplay to make the game last, and a storyline that was fully scripted but enjoyable. You'll most likely only play it once, but if the alternative is random match sequences you might as well play exhibition mode...

I had owned every WWE Game since WWE Raw on the SNES until the 2011 game. I played 2015 and it was absolute rubbish. I got 2016 in the Free with Gold deal and it was just as rubbish. I'm not prepared to give them another go this year and will stick with TEW as my go to wrestling game.

However, it has to be at the very least five or more years ago and even back then the games were crap.

Same goes for Madden. Madden lost me when they started to take some features out only to add it back in and call them new features. That was it for me when they started to pull that crap.

It sucks because if you want to play an NFL based game or a WWE game you only have Madden and whatever the WWE puts out. They can put out crap products because they are the only game in town so to speak.

I just dusted off Fable II (Literally, the damn thing had a ton of dust on it) and I am loving it all over again. I had forgotten just how good it was. I still do remember just how bad Fable III was though...<img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I played 2015 too and imo it wasn't "rubbish", but like I mentioned before I quit playing after a day or two becomes some aspects were very poorly integrated.

Sure, in the earlier days you had generic grapple-animations that sometimes 'missed' (normal in fighting games imo), but the animation clusterf*cks you encounter in this game are really horrible. The whole thing still looks stiff and some aspects of the gfx just look ugly. And I'm still used to mediocre gfx. The crowd still sounds retarded (in a literal sense), and the fact that career mode is so generic just makes me skip this one... again.

So I rented WWE 2K17. Some of the animations were really nice (the collision detection with the ropes seems improved for one) but the game still...sucks. Like, the controls over all are still terrible, the movement still doesn't flow and the commentary...ugh.

Just finished Gears of War 4 on the Xbox One, going to give a short review of it here.

For one, the game looks gorgeous. I always thought Gears of War had nice character models and looked different then your usual models and I liked that. But this game is a step up. Everything looks so polished and it makes you realise that the models in previous games aren't as good but I still appreciate it.

The campaign is amazing. Gears 4 is the only reason I picked Xbox over PS this time around, and I am so happy I did. Gears of War never disappoint with their campaign and this was no different. It takes about eight hours and honestly I felt it took wayyyy less time than the other games, but maybe it's just because I've played the franchise so religiously over the years that I can pretty much plow through the game quicker then what is average, or maybe not. I will say one thing though, if you haven't played Gears before, it may not be as enjoyable, so I'd suggest playing Gears 1 through Judgement before tackling this. There are a lot of Mark out moments in the story with old characters and you'll miss those if you haven't played the previous games. Good thing is, buying Gears 4 gets you the whole franchise with Gears 1, 2, 3 and Judgement available through codes.

Few downsides, if you are a FPS fan, you probably won't give this game (or franchise) a chance as many feel the controls for Gears are too different, I disagree with this but I have heard a lot of people give out about it. It's also quite the challenge, you will get stuck on parts of the campaign. Friends of mine have played the first mission of the first game and said "it's too hard". Gears of War as a franchise is definitely harder than let's say COD or Battlefield but Gears 2, 3 and Judgement are easy enough on Normal difficulty. The again, I have beaten Gears 1, 2 and 3 on Insane difficulty (The Hardest difficulty) so maybe I'm a little easier to con with difficulty.

So overall, thumbs up from me for Gears of War 4. A great game in look, story and excitement. 5 stars. I haven't played online (I don't have Xbox Live, darn lack of money) but Gears of War always had good online play, can't imagine this being any different.

I must admit I watched some more actual release gameplay videos on youtube, and I must say it could be better than I initially thought. The fact that you can roll out of the ring to recuperate during multi-man matches would be a godsend in that regard.

I'm still annoyed with the limited career mode and the hair physics, among other things, but there still seems to be enough content and I'm craving for another wrestling game, so I might end up picking it up regardless. Too bad there's no rent here.

Is there anybody who makes CVerse CaW's btw? I heard you can share CaW's on console now.

However as per usual like every year it's a bug filled mess at the moment, especially in universe mode. I highly recommend waiting for a few patches. I personally had my save file wiped once but got it back as luckily I had it backed up to the cloud. Apparently your save file can become corrupted if you put your PS4 in sleep mode while the game is running. There have also been reports of downloading caws causing save file corruption/loss.

One of the perks of working in education is that you get the half terms off <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Been playing a decent amount of NBA2K17. MyCareer is pretty good this year and way better than last years. It has the usual grind for VC but i'll be damned if im buying any.

Other than that (and besides the game im testing that I cant talk about), I've been playing Destiny Rise Of Iron and The Division. Its only when playing them side by side that I realised that they are pretty much the same game. MMO shooters with only a few story missions that has a big emphasis on replaying missions for loot or going PvP

I'd love to see some CVerse CAWs, but I'm awful at creating people. The game received a huge patch today correcting the issue with downloads wiping saves. Game is fun just to play around with. Would love to start up a CVerse Universe.

Titanfall 2 is amazing. Along with DOOM, it has reawakened my interest in FPS games. The past several years I was so sick of them I didn't even bother, but DOOM feels like, well, classic DOOM updated a bit. Titanfall 2, however, legitimately feels like the next step in FPS games, like Modern Warfare did when it first came out. Fantastic.

I finally decided to fire up The Bureau: XCOM Declassified after having sat on it for more than 2 years without playing it. And right off the bat, it impressed me greatly. Exciting and immersive story with surprisingly strong visuals.

Gameplay-wise, I was surprised to see that it's basically Mass Effect set in the 1960's only with more focus on combat. The mechanics and powers are more or less identical. A bit weird, actually.

I just got WWE 2K17 yesterday, so any PS4 players are welcome to PM me with your PSN username if you'd like to play online. I'm looking to have fun and good matches, so if you're someone who's just going to do a bunch of running around until you can use your Superman Punch finisher like the generic dude in all black I wrestled earlier, don't bother. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
