guyver3
It's shiny, new and made by Valve. So expect an overrated follow up and then nothing?
D-Lyrium
I guess you haven't done any actual research other than looking at pictures. It's also the same price as an Xbone controller and cheaper than a PS4 one. But don't let that stop you calling it overpriced. I'm gonna do a crazy and dangerous thing and link to something on Polygon. It's ok, keep calm, stick to this one article and you should get out alive. >_> http://www.polygon.com/2015/6/4/8730497/screw-steam-machines-just-give-me-that-controller Make sure you watch the video too. Moe Hunter
What's so special about this overly expensive controller anyway? I'm guessing you don't buy many controllers, ever.
moon_lit_tears
I'm guessing you don't buy many controllers, ever. I found a PS4 hot pink camo controller I was willing to spend 80 bucks on, but it was sold out...So yeah the Steam one is too expensive for me. Hive
I'm guessing you don't buy many controllers, ever. I do not, no. I bought a couple of cheap Logitech Wingman controllers 6-7 years ago, in order to properly play GTA and FIFA... but nothing after that. I have considered getting xbox controllers though, as I hear good things about those.

RayW
So I've never played any of the Witcher games but the latest edition really caught my eye. I have an issue with jumping in to games without playing the previous games, so I added 1, 2 and 3 to my Steam Wishlist and decided that when I have the time and money to grab them, I will. Then GOG put the first two on sale for a combined price of £3! So I made the purchase of the first two and have started the first game a couple nights ago. I'm not long into the game, maybe 6 hours, but boy am I having fun. I can't believe I've never played it before, it's the exact type of game that I love, I've no idea why I waited so long to get it. D-Lyrium
Just a warning Ray, when (and it is a case of 'when' for most people ) you get inhumanly frustrated with Witcher 1s controls and clunky combat, don't be put off. 2s mechanics are much improved and 3s are amazing. The clunkiness is worth it for the story.

So far I'm getting on fine with the control system, but i can imagine that it'll get harder as I learn more skills, etc. 2 and 3 have controller support, don't they? I'll probably end up using that for them anyway so I can couch play. We'll see. But I am thoroughly enjoying the game and the story so far. My friend told me that the games are based on a Polish book, I haven't checked this out, but if true is there an English translation of it, anyone know? I'd love to give that a read, too. Blackman
Witcher I is too much about the atmosphere. Gameplaywise there's a big emphasis on the potions (there still is), but I never really liked depending on potions (never use them in rpg's etc). You can probably manage by watching the 'movie' on youtube. Just start with the second one, though it has probably less to do with the story of the 3rd installment. With the steam sales beginning at the end of the week (probly), I actually don't have much on my wishlist. GTAV probably won't be featured, and 40 is too much for a game I played already. I do want Game of Thrones, but it will eventually be at 7 somewhere along the road, and I can wait. Then there's the DLC for Sentinels of the Multiverse. And...yeah, that's pretty much it. Maybe the Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition if it's 5.

I could, but I'd feel like I was somehow 'cheating' by skipping the game and just watching a cutscene movie. I'm enjoying the game, to be fair, so I've no reason not to play it through

I'd love to give that a read, too. Yup, it's true. There were a few collections of short stories, then several novels. So far one short story collection has been translated along with the first two novels. Might want to Google it though because it's a horribly confusing mess as to what's what and I don't want to make it worse by being wrong. There's also a live action TV series in Polish. The books are set considerably earlier than the game. From what I've read elsewhere there isn't a huge amount of character crossover except for Yennefer and Ciri. I'd love to give that a read, too. The books go as such: Witcher Stories (Short story collections): The Sword of Destiny The Last Wish Witcher Saga (Full Novels): Blood of Elves Time of Contempt Baptism of Fire The Swallow's Terror (English version coming out next year) Lady of the Lake (English version coming in 2017) Then you have Season of Storms, a prequel to Blood of Elves written a couple years ago. There's no English release date yet. As an aside, while I've never read the books, I have heard that Geralt can come off as a bit of a whiny Mary Sue at times. Also, do not ever bring up the Witcher series to fans of Elric of Melniboné. That just opens up a whole can of worms that's better left alone. I know Geralt is called the Butcher of Blaviken in the game.. The Last Wish gives you the story of how that came about
RKOwnage
Question for those with Witcher 3: It's on sale for $41.99 at Target on PS4. My computer's specs are slightly lower than recommended. Think I should just get it now for PS4 or wait and see if it goes om sale on Steam? Choice 3 is wait it out til it lowers in price and play all the other games I have sitting in my library lol

packerman120
Currently trying my best to contain massive amounts of excitement for Fallout 4/maybe Doom. Also, that Fallout Shelter game is really freaking fun. I may have just played it for three hours straight.
Blackman
So Fallout 4 will be here in less than 6 months. A nice surprise. Trailer looks pretty sweet too. Might want to play Fallout 3 again with the DLC this time, as I just couldn't get past the start of Fallout:NV... I don't know what to think of Bethesda's move towards a Blizzard-esque system, throwing in a cardgame to help promote the universe. It's to be expected that they'd copy things that work. If the cardgame is all right I might turn out playing it, as I've loved cardgames more than any other games since the new millenium (which is funny as the format doesn't really matter much). Clarity
Liking the idea of Fallout 4 on the XB1 with mods.. Also with backwards compatibility coming for 360 games, hopefully the remastering with end and we'll get some new games
Blackman
That holo-minecraft was pretty cool. Being able to try and zap people 'visiting' your world. I can have a lot of fun with that.
