Tag Team Title Match: Texas Tornado Mayhem: Team Texas (Archie ‘The Governor’ Judge/The Lone Star Stampeder) w/Major W.G. Reginald III © v. The Lords of War (Warlord Agony/Warlord Pain) w/Professor Nero

Billy’s Take: For months now, Team Texas has been hanging onto the TWL Tag Team Titles by a thread. They work incredibly well together and have amazing intestinal fortitude, but they are not physically dominant. Their opponents this night, on the other hand, are. The Lords of War dominated this match, throwing Archie around like a rag doll. The Lone Star Stampeder was able to temporarily quell the challenger’s momentum by locking Pain in a leg grapevine, but the interference of Agony once again turned the tide in favor of the Lords of War. Finally, after throwing Stampy to the floor, the Lords of War connected with their ring-shaking War Machine to end the match and win the TWL Tag Team Titles!

After the match, Professor Nero ordered his minions to continue their assault on Team Texas. Warlords Agony and Pain dutifully complied, manhandling the much smaller team. Finally, ‘Gorgeous’ George DeColt and the Trailer Park Kid stormed the ring, forcing the Disciples of Evilness to retreat. C-

‘New School’ Jason Jackson came to the ring with Double Disaster, Eruption and Tsunami, and Larry Laffer. Unsurprisingly, Jackson revealed that his huge Samoan tandem would serve as his lumberjacks. Giant Grimsley came out to the ring and awkwardly took the microphone, declaring that his lumberjacks would be none other than Mark ‘The Lariat’ Krogan and ‘Old School’ Edmond Jackson! The crowd erupted while Jackson threw a temper tantrum. C+

Lumberjack Match: Giant Grimsley v. ‘New School’ Jason Jackson

Billy’s Take: As with most lumberjack matches, this match had as much to do with the men outside the ring as the ones inside. The presence of Edmond Jackson at ringside obviously threw his son Jason, as did the presence of Mark Krogan, the man Jason initially targeted upon arriving in TWL. Grimsley, for his part, was not really affected by Double Disaster, though when he went to the floor, the Samoan duo was quick to attack the giant. In the end, none of these lumberjacks made a lasting difference. Instead, it was the Night Rider, who came down to the ring mid-match and floored Grimsley with a blackjack when the giant went outside the ring. Since there are, by rule, no disqualifications due to lumberjack interference in a lumberjack match, I regretfully had to give Jackson the win after Double Disaster rolled Grimsley back into the ring and ‘New School’ successfully made the pin.

The Night Rider stared long and hard at the victorious Jason Jackson, somewhat dampening the post-match celebration of the West Coast Warriors, rubbing his fingers together in the universal sign of being paid while DeColt and Krogan checked on the fallen giant. C-

Crimson Serpent Cult (Cobra/Viper) v. Double Disaster (Eruption/Tsunami) w/Larry Laffer

Billy’s Take: The Crimson Serpent Cult, despite not being lumberjacks in the previous match, certainly had a score to settle with the giant Samoan duo. This was a very hard-hitting affair, all four men worked quite stiff. But in the end, it was the Serpents picking up the win in a match that could’ve gone either way after Cobra locked Eruption in a Viper Vice to prevent him from making the save after Viper hit a Snakebite Roundhouse Kick on Tsunami.

‘Gorgeous’ George Decolt and his partner, the Trailer Park Kid, came down to the ring for their upcoming match. They were intercepted by Professor Nero and the Lords of War, Nero taking a microphone. “DeColt,” the sadistic monster began in a voice that sounded akin to fingernails being slowly slid down a chalkboard, “you interfered in a matter not of your making. Team Texas had to pay for their transgressions and atone for their sins. And you lifted part of that burden. Tonight I make the red man pay, but soon, very soon, I will come after you. My vengeance will be a plague upon you DeColt, a plague!”B

‘Gorgeous’ George DeColt/Trailer Park Kid w/Mark ‘The Lariat’ Krogan/Major W.G. Reginald III v. Floyd ‘F-Bomb’ Bowman/Mean Mark Green

Billy’s Take: These four competitors made no pretense of even attempting a chinlock, armbar, or sleeper hold. Instead, it was a full-blown pier-six brawl. Bowman, in particular, seemed right at home in this environment, pinning Trailer Park Kid into the corner and punching him repeatedly in the neck. The Kid responded with a vicious kick to Bowman’s knee, sending F-Bomb into a trademark bout of loud cussing. In the end, DeColt went for a DeColt 45 on Green, but Bowman slid into the ring brandishing a wooden chair. He smacked DeColt right across the back with the chair, drawing an instant disqualification. Green took a piece of the now-shattered chair and flattened the Trailer Park Kid with it while Bowman kept Krogan and Reginald at Bay by brandishing a splintered piece of lumber.

Although technically the winners of the match, ‘Gorgeous’ George DeColt and the Trailer Park Kid lay in a heap in the center of the ring. The head Outlaw, TWL Champion Johnny Lawless, came out and stepped over the corpse-like bodies, kicking at the Kid on his way by. “Luis Reyes, you see these two boys right here? The ones layin’ like dead men? That’s just a taste of what you’ll be feeling tonight when I’m through with you. I’m walking in the cage as the TWL Champion and plan on walking out the same way. You, on the other hand, will be walking in the cage as the challenger and walking out…maybe. Because I’m gonna hurt you so bad that you’ll probably have to crawl out or be taken out on a stretcher. It doesn’t matter to me at all. Because I….am above the law. I…am…lawless.” The Outlaws finally left the ring, allowing Krogan and Reginald to check on the health of DeColt and the Trailer Park Kid. TWL Title: Cage Match: Luis Reyes v. Johnny Lawless ©

Billy’s Take: Before the match even began, Reyes signaled his manager Shannon to the backstage area and then turned to face Lawless, staring intently at the reigning champion. The two circled one another warily and then locked up, Reyes showing surprising strength. Lawless went to roll to the outside after being thrown to the mat, but ran into the steel cage, much to the fan’s enjoyment. Lawless grew increasingly frustrated with Reyes’ onslaught and was never able to take a break owing to the cage. After about fifteen minutes of back and forth, Reyes hoisted Lawless into position for the jumping piledriver, signaling the end of the match. Lawless resourcefully grabbed the bottom rope, not allowing Reyes to leave his feet. Reyes broke the hold and went for a leglock. Lawless struck quickly, pulling Reyes’ head into a cradle position. Lawless grabbed a handful of tights for leverage (as I found out later) and pushed Reyes’ shoulders to the mat for the one, two, three.

Professor Nero came out to the ring with his Disciples of Evilness (the Lords of War and TimberWolf) in tow. He whispered something to Agony and then cackled, the expression of the hulking Warlord never changing. Then Chief Two Eagles emerged, flanked by the Crimson Serpent Cult. I immediately ordered the seconds backstage, leaving Chief Two Eagles and Professor Nero alone in the center of the ring as the cage was lowered back into place. B+

Cage Match: Chief Two Eagles v. Professor Nero

Billy’s Take: Nero and Chief circled one another slowly, as if neither wanted to strike first. Nero finally lunged, but Two Eagles turned him away and countered with a chop to the exposed chest of the Professor. The two then traded blows, back and forth, for several minutes until each had red welts rising on their chests and blood streaming from cuts on their foreheads. Nero used a thumb to the throat to slow Chief’s momentum and cinched in a chinlock, pulling back until Chief could barely breathe, crimson blood streaming into his swollen eyes. Nero wore down the Chief until the Indian Warrior seemed drained of energy. Nero laughed maniacally and locked on the Descent into Madness, shaking Chief in his inescapable sleeper. Chief’s arm went down once, twice, no! Chief slowly raised his arm into position for a Tomahawk Chop and brained Nero, flooring the nefarious Professor. Chief then slowly climbed to the second rope and connected with a Tomahawk Chop. 1, 2, no! Nero kicked out. Chief, undaunted, climbed to the second rope once more and connected with another Tomahawk Chop. 1, 2, no! Nero kicked out again! Oh my goodness! Finally, Chief Two Eagles slowly ascended to the second rope and then stepped backwards to the very top rope. As Nero groggily rose, Chief flew through the air and hit his Tomahawk Chop directly onto the forehead of Professor Nero. Chief, exhausted and covered in blood, dropped on top of Nero as I counted one, two, three. The crowd stood as one, loudly cheering the victorious Chief.

It's a cage match to settle a long running feud in the 70s. The face wins.

4/6. Nice work Comradebot. And your call on the main event was spot-on. Long-running feud + cage match = end of feud with face almost always going over.

4/6. Other than the Luis and Outlaws tag matches, you had the reasoning exactly right. And I love F-Bomb, but Lawless needs strong challengers more than Bowman and Green need wins right now.

In Hawaiian Getaway, Spinning Toe Holds were the Island Boy's finishers.

I fully support lesser moves to end a match. Which is why I'm a Chris Masters fan. Full Nelson?

Perfect.

Have to love the spinning toe hold finisher. Good ol' Dory Funk used that one in RW if memory serves.

Best full nelson match ever? Billy Jack Haynes v. Hercules at Wrestlemania. I'd call it a classic, but its not. The story was wonderful, though, and shows how much heat WWF could build with a simple finisher back in the day.

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>The West Coast Warriors, <strong>‘New School’ Jason Jackson</strong>, Double Disaster (<strong>Eruption</strong> and <strong>Tsunami</strong>), <strong>Larry Laffer</strong>, the leisure-suited Los Angeles lounge lizard, as well as Jackson’s partner for the evening, <strong>The Night Rider</strong>, came out to the ring expectantly, awaiting the arrival of Giant Grimsley and his mystery teammate. <span style="color:#FF0000;">“Like, what a waste of my time,” </span>Jackson arrogantly began on the microphone. <span style="color:#FF0000;">“The Sacramento Stud Muffin, the San Francisco Treat, the Inglewood Intellectual is so, like, over trying to figure out who the big, dumb, giant’s partner is. He’s so stupid that his partner is probably himself.”</span> At that instant, the backstage curtain parted and the familiar figure of <strong>Giant Grimsley </strong>emerged, grinning slightly. He took several long strides, including one over the top rope, and entered the ring, taking the microphone. <span style="color:#0000FF;">“No need for talk. Now is time for action. Meet Giant’s partner…Mighty Thor!” </span></p><p>

<span>http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/ajcrible/Texas%20Wrestling/MightyThor.jpg</span></p><p>

<strong>Mighty Thor </strong>entered the arena and appeared to be nearly as large as Grimsley, though with much more well-defined musculature. Jackson involuntarily shuddered and then the sneer returned to his lips. <span style="color:#FF0000;">“Looks like you found someone as big and dumb as you Grimsley. Congratulations, freak!” </span>Thor planted Jackson with a big boot and I called for the bell, starting the next match. <strong>C+</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Mighty Giants (Giant Grimsley/Mighty Thor) v. The Night Rider/‘New School’ Jason Jackson w/Larry Laffer/Double Disaster </strong></p><p>

<em>Billy’s Take</em>: What a contrast in styles. While Night Rider stood toe-to-toe with the larger duo, Jackson preferred a more hit-and-run approach, bouncing in and out, using his speed and quickness advantage to tire out the giants. Back and forth the two teams went, putting on a very entertaining match. Then suddenly, The Night Rider dropped from the ring apron, made a gesture as if wiping his hands of the match, and walked up the ramp, confusing Double Disaster, Larry Laffer, and, perhaps most importantly, Jason Jackson. Jackson was easy pickings for the Might Giants as the humungous duo hit a double press slam, dropping Jackson from over nine feet in the air straight onto the mat. Both giants rested a foot on Jackson’s chest and the three count was academic. </p><p>

<strong>The Night Rider</strong>, still standing on the ramp, came back to the ring and took the microphone. <span style="color:#0000FF;">“Hey Junior,” </span>the biker began in a gruff voice, <span style="color:#0000FF;">“maybe you didn’t get the memo, but I don’t work for free.” </span>Night Rider threw the microphone down at the prone body of Jason Jackson and stalked off, leaving the West Coast Warriors in the center of the ring. <strong>D+</strong></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Captain USA v. Cheatin’ Mike Barstow</strong></p><p>

<em>Billy’s Take</em>: Captain USA is quickly becoming a crowd favorite in Texas, his incessant “U…S…A” chants allowing him to really connect with the crowd. His opponent, on the other hand, is not as well-known, but is a much more talented and skilled wrestler. He quickly put the American hero down with a series of mat-based holds and finished off Captain USA with an armbar for the win.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Luis Reyes </strong>came out to the ring, Shannon in tow. <span style="color:#0000FF;">“At Wanted: Dead or Alive, I gave my very best effort. But I came up short.” </span>He shrugged. <span style="color:#0000FF;">“There will be other days, other titles. What I want to talk about today cuts deeper than gold belts. I want to talk about my heritage. I came to Texas last year with my big brother Carlos,” </span>the crowd booed…a little. Most have tried to forget the Border Runners. <span style="color:#0000FF;">“And I took his last name, the last name of my mother Mama Reyes. But my real name, my birth name, is Luis Montero. So from now on, Luis Reyes is no more. I am Luis Montero and I will do whatever it takes to become the greatest wrestler in the world!” </span>He gave Shannon a squeeze and, waving to the crowd, the duo left the ring. <strong>C-</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Billy’s Take</em>: The Lords of War were on a mission to prove that their victory at Wanted was not a fluke. Mission accomplished. Agony and Pain threw around Archie and Stampy like ragdolls and hit a War Machine on the boss to pick up the win. Then they pulled Major W.G. Reginald III into the ring and hit a huge War Machine on him, sending the Panama-clad 40 year old manager brutally into the mat. They stood over the three prone bodies while Professor Nero patted them enthusiastically on the backs, obviously proud of the carnage. </p><p>

<em>Billy’s Take</em>: Trailer Park Kid came out sans Major Reginald, who was obviously feeling the effects of the Lords of War beatdown. His opponent, Drake McWade, also came out by himself and immediately took the fight to the young Kid. The two went back and forth and were soon both streaming blood from cuts on their foreheads. In the end, it was the Trailer Park Kid who emerged victorious after hitting the Double-Wide Dive on McWade, though both men seemed worse for the wear. </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>The Texas Outlaws, including TWL Champion<strong> Johnny Lawless</strong>, <strong>Floyd ‘F-Bomb’ Bowman</strong>, and <strong>Mean Mark Green</strong>, strode down to the ring. Lawless took the microphone. <span style="color:#FF0000;">“Well not surprisingly, I stand here again today as YOUR TWL Champion. Thank you all for your support.” </span>The crowd booed Lawless’ proclamation, but he continued. <span style="color:#FF0000;">“I have just one problem. You see, after I decimated Luis what’s-his-name…Reyes, Montero, Tortilla, Kay-sa-dill-a… I had to sit there and watch another match. Yet again, this company doesn’t respect its champion, no YOUR champion, enough to put me on in the main event. So yet again, I had to watch a dirty, fire-water drinkin’, casino-gamblin’, two-bit Injun fight in the main event. Tonight I had that problem remedied and YOUR champion will go on last, as is fitting for the man who carries TWL on his shoulders. That’s right, the man who is above the law. </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Chief Two Eagles/‘Gorgeous’ George DeColt w/Mark ‘The Lariat’ Krogan v. The Sadistic Duo (Professor Nero/TimberWolf) </strong></p><p>

<em>Billy’s Take</em>: The Sadistic Duo emerged first, Nero slinking to the ring and TimberWolf dutifully on his heels. Nero kept whispering to his canine protégé, obviously strategizing. When Chief Two Eagles and George DeColt came out, the place erupted. Chief slapped hands with fans at ringside and even took off a bear-claw necklace he was wearing and handed it to a young boy sitting near the ring. Once inside the ring, all four men regarded one another warily. The match started and chaos ensued. Chief threw TimberWolf effortlessly across the ring, but Nero responded by blindly tagging himself in and sadistically attacking the painted warrior. Then DeColt got involved and TimberWolf again took a beating, while Nero seemed especially intent on injuring the Canadian star. Back and forth the match went with neither side gaining a pronounced advantage. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the Lords of War, <strong>Warlord Agony </strong>and <strong>Warlord Pain</strong>, ran down to the ring, slid in and hit a huge double shoulderblock on DeColt, sending him flying out of the ring. All six men continued to brawl as I threw the match out and tried to separate the combatants. </p><p>

<em>Billy’s Take</em>: The crowd was solidly behind the challenger in this one and loudly made their stance known. The match itself was a fairly open affair, with Jackson obviously leading Lawless through it, though the champ got plenty of shots in on the older man. In the end, Lawless fought off an Eagle Claw with a low-blow and then connected with a vicious Power Lariat to pick up the win. </p><p>

A word of advice and maybe some of the other more recent dynasty writers could chime in here, I think it might be best if you have the card booked and simmed before you put up predictions since I honestly have no desire to influence your booking or how your game and dynasty unfold. I just make fun, often wonky, but oddly logical booking choices. Having Lawless run rampant in Texas is a fine storyline. My idea was to milk the 3-match ratio out as far as possible before Lawless thwarted Jackson (and Krogan). But I never want to make you rebook something on account of my predictioning.

What a lot of people don't realize, or maybe they do, is that I'm never concerned with winning the contests, more just making the writers think and hopefully smile at some of my booking ideas.

Edit: Also, fun show. Glad I was wrong about TPK. And Lawless looked good and I liked Montero getting his name back. Luis Montezuma seems like a good insult for Lawless to use. And DeColt/Nero may be the best potential for a storyline ever.

Oh, I always have the card booked and simmed before I post predictions (though I don't book past that event). I guess, the way I look at it, 'real' bookers have a committee through which they run ideas before the show is complete. I have my readers providing feedback. And though I would almost never change card results based on this feedback, it may influence future booking decisions. I already have my Year End Spectacular card booked - that is what I am building towards. But how I get there could be altered by user feedback. Particularly yours Beeker as, like you said, your explanations are are sometimes wonky but certainly logical.

And thanks for the input. I'm also interested to see where DeColt/Nero leads - their positive chemistry certainly played into the development of that feud.
