Top 5 Favorite USPW Characters And Why?

 

I'm using favourite loosely, because obviously in USPW they'd all end up being faces...

 

1. Darryl Devine

I never, ever thought I'd say that. In any game I've run he's the forgotten extra, the opening jobber but somewhere along the way you made me believe that he was worthy of challenging Chris Caulfield for the title. Now I'm torn because I believe he'd be a great champ, but I think a Seduction-Caulfield duo could be fun.

2. Chris Caulfield

Never gets the credit he deserves but his early title win in this diary has seen him at the top for months.

Joint 3. Enygma/Acid

These two have become intwined since Acid debuted and they've had a great feud that hasn't seemed to drag despite it's length.

4. Nicky Champion

Although he lost the National title to Bruce recently, he did a great job as champion and his friendship with Alicia brings something different storyline-wise.

Last week on USPW American Wrestling:

• Chris Caulfield and Darryl Devine made one final match for Declaration Of Independence. It's the USPW World Title and Seduction on the line.
  
• Alex Braun made his decision. He will NOT be joining the Hardcore Brotherhood. Instead, he worked to save James Prudence from an attack by The Brotherhood.
  
• The top contender to the USPW National title was drawn randomly and that top contender is American Patriot!
  
• Johnny Bloodstone defeated Freddie Datsun by submission.
  
• Chris Caulfield pinned Enygma when Acid did a distraction.
  
• Following that match, Darryl Devine and Seduction attacked Chris Caulfield and left him laying in the center of the ring.

[The show begins within the Louisiana Auditorium with the crowd on their feet! A 'USPW' chant breaks through the crowd as some look toward the cameras, trying to get on tv. Mitch Naess, Eric Tyler and Davis Ditterich welcome everyone to USPW American Wrestling. Then the attention is turned to the center of the ring where our USPW World Champion is standing in a black t-shirt and a pair of shorts. He takes off his bandana and tosses it in the crowd, drawing a 'Caulfield' chant from the people. Chris cracks a smile for a moment as he extends his arms out in the cross motion. The fans go wild for his signature taunt. The Hardcore American raises the microphone to his lips.]

 

Chris Caulfield

"First of all, it is good to be here in the Louisiana Auditorium for some USPW wrestling action! It is also good to be wearing the USPW World title belt around my waist."

 

[The crowd breaks out in a 'Caulfield' chant and Chris just smiles and laughs. He smirks as he looks to a sign in the crowd: 'Caulfield Is Suffering from Devine Seduction!']

"Thanks everyone. But I have always said that I am going to be a fighting Champion. I have taken on any and all comers who want to step inside the ring with me."

 

Mystery Voice

"Let's put that last statement to a test, shall we?"

[The crowd turns their attention to the top of the ramp where Shane Sneer walks out. Boos echo through the crowd as Sneer focuses right in on Chris Caulfield. Sneer walks down to the ring and steps inside looking the USPW World Champion up and down.]

"I think we both know that the Sneer Corporation has the toughest athletes in the history of USPW. After all, I have the USPW World Tag Team Champions in my stable. And I am the smartest man in the company. So, Chris, you need to put your money where your mouth is."

 

[There is a small disturbance within the crowd behind Chris Caulfield. Chris doesn't seem to see it or hear the fans as they try to warn him about the large man stepping through the crowd.]

[This large man is one half of the USPW World Tag Team Champions and 'The Demon From The Deep.' Baine steps over the railing and then slides inside the ring. Chris turns before he can be attacked from behind and stares down with Tyson Baine!]

[Chris ducked a clothesline attempt and rolled out of the ring. He smiled up at Tyson Baine and Shane Sneer as their sneak attack attempt did not work. Chris backs up the entrance. Tonight, Chris Caulfield will defend his USPW World title against Tyson Baine!]

[Not even the excitement of these four athletes could draw any crowd attention whatsoever. Those who remained awake saw a match where the men fought the men and the women fought the women. Alicia nearly scored a pinfall following a twisting brainbuster to Belle Bryden but Bloodstone interrupted the count. During the bout, a fan held up a sign reading: 'Canada vs. USA!' Another fan held up a sign reading: 'We Still Love You, AmEl!' When the men got back in, Bloodstone took down the masked American Elemental and locked in the Bloodstone Mutilation! It was only seconds before American Elemental gave it up.]

[We headed backstage where fans drew in some cheers as The Force was shown within his locker room pacing back and forth. The Force looks up toward the camera for a moment and does a few growls and grunts and groans.]

 

The Force

"I have been gone traveling to the far reaches of the known universe. I have been to the sahara desert. I have been to the jungles of Africa. I have been to the red planet known as Mars. And now I have found a man with enough Forcechlorians to become a partner to the man known as The Force. This man is not only a follower of The Force but he is also a Champion. He is The Champion!"

 

[The Force grunts and then motions and the camera zooms out to reveal the second man in the locker room.]

[Nicky Champion? The Champion begins flexing and releases an odd grunting sound as he stands beside The Force]

 

The Champion

"I have gone to those places deep within the minds of man. I have gone to those places that are not located upon a map. I have been training with the power known as The Force. Now I am prepared to do battle within this very USPW ring. I am more prepared than I have ever been in my life. I have learned the greatest secrets of the power of the mighty strength that lies within the power of the might of the FFFFOOOORRRRCCCCEEEE! Now The Champion is what lies within the hearts of man. A Champion I once was and a Champion I have become!"

 

[both men beat their chest and growl to the camera and we head back to the ring.]

Bruce The Giant defends vs. Acid

 

[This is indeed a very interesting match as the high flying Acid takes on the more grounded Bruce The Giant. Can Acid last in a match with a 600 pound athlete or will the sign be correct: 'It is time for a GIANT squash match!' Acid stayed away from Bruce early in the match, using a hit and run strategy that focused on the legs of Bruce The Giant. Acid went up top and went for a moonsault press but Bruce caught him in mid-air. He lifted him on his shoulder -- running powerslam! The crowd booed as Bruce made the cover: 1 -- 2 -- Shoulder Up! The next few minutes were spent with Bruce in firm control but every pinfall attempt he made Acid would get his shoulder up at the last second. This started to frustrate Bruce, who was nearly disqualified choking Acid in the corner. Bruce had an argument with the referee when someone jumped the guardrail. The cameras showed a fan holding up a sign: 'Bruce's Best Squash Matches = Shortest DVD Ever!']

[it's Enygma! Enygma grabbed the legs of Acid and tripped him up and then crotched him on the ring post! The crowd booed as Enygma admired his handiwork. Bruce walked over and helped Acid to his feet. He wrapped that large hand around the throat of the masked wrestler -- Giant Choke Slam! Acid landed firmly in the middle of the ring. Bruce made the cover: 1 -- 2 -- 3!]

 

Winner: Bruce The Giant (Via Pinfall @ 6:23; Bruce The Giant retains the USPW National title.)

[Enygma climbed into the ring as Bruce left with his title. Enygma grabbed the ankle of Acid -- Enygma Variation! The crowd booed as Enygma tightened in the hold. As Enygma tightened the hold further, the crowd rose to their feet seeing someone running to the aid of Acid.]

[it's Alex Braun! The Iceman slides into the ring and Enygma releases the hold. Braun comes face-to-face with Enygma and it looks like it's time for their match to start.]

[The match between these two started off quickly. Braun is focused between brawling and flying in his skill set. Braun used a clothesline off the ropes to take down Enygma early on and get a two count. The Iceman climbed to the second turnbuckle and lowered an elbow onto the arm of Enygma. The masked wrestler was in obvious pain as Braun showed his skill. As Braun tossed Enygma out of the ring, the focus turned to the entrance as three men began walking down.]

[The Hardcore Brotherhood took positions at ringside. Alex Braun moved to the center of the ring, looking around, ready to take them on. Enygma made it back in the ring behind Braun. He tripped Braun up and grabbed him by the leg -- Enygma Variation! Braun's eyes went wide and he struggled, trying to get to the ropes! Shawn Gonzalez held the ropes back from Braun and Braun had to tap out or get his ankle snapped!]

 

Winner: Enygma (Via Submission @ 10:27)

Match Rating: B-

 

[The Hardcore Brotherhood leaped up onto the apron as the bell sounded and Travis Century made the sign of the cross. As they prepared to enter the ring, someone else did first.]

[The crowd here in the Louisiana Auditorium booed Darryl Devine as he came walking down to the ring with Seduction. He tugged Seduction into his corner by the collar and then entered the ring. He pointed toward a sign, reading: 'You Ain't Ready, Freddie!' and nodded. The crowd cheered heavily for 'The American Everyman' Freddie Datsun. Datsun attacked Devine early on with several punches and a big body slam! The number one contender went down to the mat early on as Datsun had control. Devine eventually slid out of the ring and spoke with Seduction for a moment. Datsun slid out as well but Devine put Seduction between him and Datsun. Devine used the Seduction distraction and caught Datsun with a cheap shot before tossing him back inside the ring. Devine came inside and brought Datsun down with a vertical suplex. He used the ropes -- springboard moonsault! Devine made the cover: 1 -- 2 -- Kickout!]

 

[The American Everyman showed his resilience, proving why he is a former USPW World Champion as he avoided a splash in the corner by Devine. Datsun lifted Devine on his shoulders -- Patriot Press! The crowd went absolutely wild! Datsun leaped down onto Devine, making the cover:]

...Seduction put Darryl Devine's foot on the bottom rope!]

 

 

[Freddie Datsun looked angrily out at Seduction as she just saved Darryl Devine from being pinned. Datsun pulled Devine up and set him on his shoulders again -- Darryl wiggled free! Devine kicked Datsun in the gut -- Devine Dream Drop! Devine makes a quick cover:]

Chris Caulfield defends vs. Tyson Baine

 

[Our main event was set up earlier this evening between Chris Caulfield and Shane Sneer. Tyson Baine and Shane Sneer came out first to boos from the crowd. The Demon From The Deep entered the ring and conferred with Sneer as Caulfield made his entrance. Caulfield tossed his bandana into the crowd and then entered the ring, handing over the USPW World title belt to referee Wilson Carlisle. Caulfield and Baine met in the center of the ring and neither man backed down. Caulfield extended his arms in the cross taunt and Baine threw a punch! Caulfield fired back! Baine! Caulfield! Baine! Caulfield! Neither man wanted to back down. Baine started to gain the advantage. He knocked Caulfield back into a corner, hammering the USPW World Champion! He whipped Caulfield across the ring. Caulfield stepped out of the corner -- Big Boot by Baine! Baine bounced off the ropes -- big elbow drop! Baine made a cover: 1 -- 2 -- Kickout! Baine pulled Caulfield to his feet and then tossed him through the ropes. Baine distracted the official and Shane Sneer threw three kicks to the ribs of Caulfield! Caulfield held on to his ribs as the referee turned back around and started making the count. At around 6, Caulfield rolled back into the ring. Baine picked up Caulfield -- Snake Eyes! Baine bounced off the ropes -- bulldog! Baine made the cover:]

[The crowd booed as Darryl Devine and Seduction came down to the ring when Caulfield raised his shoulder up. Devine and Seduction stood in a neutral corner. Baine pulled Caulfield to his feet and wrapped a hand around his throat -- Choke Slam -- NO! Caulfield reversed it into a DDT! What a reversal by the USPW World Champion! Both men lay out on the mat as the referee started with the ten count. At around 5, Caulfield was using the ropes to pull himself up. At 7, Tyson Baine sat up and looked over at the Hardcore American. Caulfield bounced off the ropes -- tripped by Darryl Devine! The referee saw the trip and called for the bell immediately.]

 

Winner: Chris Caulfield (Via Disqualification @ 12:16)

Match Rating: B

 

[The crowd booed as Devine yanked Caulfield out of the ring. He ran The Hardcore American right into the steel ring post! Caulfield fell to his knees as Devine smiled. Devine walked over and picked up Caulfield, raising him up and dropping him throat-first on the guardrail! Caulfield clutched his throat and began spitting up blood! Security and EMTs came running from the back! That's all the time we have for you this week. Make sure you tune in next week when Sam Strong will be here to give a State of the USPW address!]

Top 5 Favorite USPW Characters And Why?

 

I'm using favourite loosely, because obviously in USPW they'd all end up being faces...

 

1. Darryl Devine

I never, ever thought I'd say that. In any game I've run he's the forgotten extra, the opening jobber but somewhere along the way you made me believe that he was worthy of challenging Chris Caulfield for the title. Now I'm torn because I believe he'd be a great champ, but I think a Seduction-Caulfield duo could be fun.

2. Chris Caulfield

Never gets the credit he deserves but his early title win in this diary has seen him at the top for months.

Joint 3. Enygma/Acid

These two have become intwined since Acid debuted and they've had a great feud that hasn't seemed to drag despite it's length.

4. Nicky Champion

Although he lost the National title to Bruce recently, he did a great job as champion and his friendship with Alicia brings something different storyline-wise.
