He's Back!

Leaving the WWE in January of 2010, Shane McMahon turned his back on the company in which his bloodline runs thick. From his parents to his sibling, the McMahons run the biggest sports entertainment company in the world. But Shane wanted to step away from the limelight and after a 20 year career in the company the young McMahon walked away.

However just nine months later, McMahon stormed back into WWE headquarters and wanted to take over the reigns but was shot down. Vince however did allow Shane temporary complete control over creative, giving Stephanie time off with the injured Triple H.

How would Shane handle the pressure and responsibility of running the creative team up until WrestleMania? Will Vince regret his decision or will it bring in a new era to World Wrestling Entertainment?

"We're Going through Changes":

In his first decision since returning to the WWE, Shane announced that the up coming Hell In a Cell pay-per-view had been cancelled and changed to a house show (refunding any disgruntled customers) and renamed the "Bragging Rights" event to the King Of the Ring. This news sent the internet buzzing and rightfully so, McMahon also stated there would be two tournaments simultaneous with the final taking the main event spot. One tournament for SmackDown! and another for Raw.

The Wrestling Truth has recieved the first preview of WWE Raw under the guidance and booking and creative mind of Shane McMahon. We can reveal that Shane will be coming into and taking an active on screen role as the General Manager of Raw, with Teddy Long taken control of SmackDown. This has been confirmed by an inside source within the company.

The show opens with Shane McMahons music blasting throughout the arena and out walks the prodigal son of the WWE. On the entrance ramp however, we see a cool and composed Shane McMahon who doesn’t dance around like before handing in his notice. Instead we see McMahon walk slowly down to ringside with an enormous grin on his face; the fans give a warm reaction to Shane.

Shane McMahon: No more! No more of an anonymous GM, no more of the best athletes in the WWE jobbing to the over worked muscle juicing guys in the back. As some of you may know, I’m running this ship now! But first things first, the WWE universe is in for a shake up! The King Of The Ring returns in just four weeks time and the winner, the winner will receive a title shot at either brands respective championship at Survivor Series. But before then…

Before he can get his words out of his mouth the music of Randy Orton sounds throughout the arena.

Randy Orton: So the prodigal son has returned to the double-yew double-yew E! The last time I saw you Shane was when a little known group called Legacy broke your leg in two! You come out here saying you’re giving the winner of the King Of the Ring a title shot against yours truly?

Shane McMahon: That’s right Randy and tonight, since you’ve clearly taken offense to my decision. You’ll be taking on two of the men that you beat in last nights six pack challenge… Tonight Randy! You’ll be taking on Sheamus…and…Edge! In a handicap match!

Orton paces back and fourth on the entrance ramp at the prospect of fighting two of the toughest men in WWE.

The opening match of the night saw The Miz defeat his former tag team partner John Morrison, in a match that took 17:57. The ending of the match came as The Miz planted Morrison after he was distracted by Alex Riley at ringside. The NXT season two rookie celebrated with The Miz after the match as he says he’s there’s only three men left to defeat. The crowd seems truly behind Morrison as The Miz cheated to win.

The second match of the night saw Natalya defeat Tamina & Gail Kim in a triple threat match to become the number one contender. However after the Tamina had to be dragged off of Natalya by Jimmy and Jules Uso as she was infuriated over the loss.

After a commercial break we see Evan Bourne walking through the arena on his cell phone until he comes into contact with David Otunga. Otunga begins running his mouth and talking down to the St Louis native. Bourne begins laugh at Otunga trying to intimidate him until the rest of the Nexus walk around the corner. Slater, Otunga and Gabriel begin to beat down on Bourne until the camera cuts away.

The next match saw four of the King Of the Ring participants take each other on in a tag team match. This match was 18: 43 at the finish, it ended in a no contest however. As the closing minutes of the match approached, The Miz, winner of the first round match interfered and attacked all the men in the ring. However as John Cena and Daniel Bryan made it back to their feet, The Miz pushed Alex Riley in front of him and made the escape. This caused Riley to be fed to the lions sort of speak. Barrett and Regal however blindsided both men, trying to do some damage before their matches next week.

As we come back from yet another commercial we see Edge and Sheamus backstage and they seem to be forming a plan to take out the WWE champion: Randy Orton. Both men seem to be on the same page as Edge leaves the locker room to prepare himself for the match.

The next match, saw The Great Khali destroy an over confident Jericho in 14:56, however the match wasn’t a white wash. The ending of the match saw Jericho gain the upperhand against the gigantic Punjabi Playboy, but as he taunted too much, Khali managed to make it to his feet. This advantage led to Jericho being dropped with the Punjabi Plunge.

After his match with Khali, Jericho snaps in anger and starts to destroy the ringside area, he shouts at the crowd that he doesn’t deserve this. Then he calms and slaps the ring announcer before grabbing a microphone.

Chris Jericho: I Quit! I’m done! It’s over!

The final match of the night sees Randy Orton take on a seemingly united Edge and Sheamus in a handicap match. The match went for 18:05, Orton managed to pick up the win after Sheamus was attacked by Edge which allowed Orton to gain the advantage and RKO Sheamus before pushing Edge out to ringside.

After the match however we see a calm Edge confront Orton but as he does he is attacked from behind by Sheamus who annihilates him with his Celtic Cross power bomb through the retaining wall; only to do it a second time through the announcers table.

The show opened with the first, first round match of the SmackDown King of the Ring tournament. It saw Jack Swagger destroy Chris Masters’ ankle at the end of the match following a tough 12:34 match. However, wanting to assert his dominance in the tournament after the match there was no let up until the music of one CM Punk hit and out walked the straight edge superstar.

Punk shoots on how a great superstar used to use the ankle and how he fell prey to the prescription drugs. Punk buries Kurt Angle without naming him but the crowd give him a cruel reaction. Afterwards Punk continued to preach the straight edge life style which garnered even more cheap heat from the crowd.

After a short commercial we are taken back to another segment. This time we see Lay-Cool trying to dress Kaval up in a white suit with a pink tie, whilst pulling and poking at his face. Clearly unimpressed with the “co-divas champions” Kaval walks out of shot before coming face to face with Alberto Del Rio. The two stare each other down as the sharply dressed Del Rio laughs in the Kaval before walking off, garnering the attention of Lay-Cool. Both divas stand in awe before the camera fades to black.

The second match of the night and second appearance by Lay-Cool saw Michelle McCool defeat Kelly Kelly in 4:00 with her Faith Breaker. At the beginning of the match however we saw Natalya sat in the crowd, clearly scouting the champion. However during the match, despite long harsh stares from Layla, no one exchanged shots.

The next segment brings us the debut of Brett DiBiase. We are taken to the locker room of Rey Mysterio but he is not alone as a couple of seconds later we see Maryse wander in. She begins speaking in French which is met by Mysterio mocking her in Spanish only for Ted and Brett DiBiase sprinting in behind her and blindsiding him. After a couple of minutes beating down on Rey, Brett shouts that everyone knows Spanish hussy (despite Mysterio complimenting Maryse). All three of them walk out together each DiBiase on either arm of Maryse looking pleased with themselves.

The second first round match of the SmackDown tournament saw Kaval defeat Alberto Del Rio. The match finish came as the over confident Mexican was too fixated on Lay-Cool that he allowed Kaval the opportunity to hit him with the Warriors Way to him in between the ropes. Only for Kaval to be given a peck on the cheek by both members of Lay-Cool and to slide back in and pin Del Rio.

This segment saw Cody Rhodes standing in the ring alongside his tag team partner; Drew McIntyre who remains silent throughout. Rhodes called out the former tag team champions, but in particular DH Smith. When they get into the ring, Rhodes rips into Smiths lineage, stating that he has never had to “cash in” on his fathers name or his uncles’ “Dynasty.” Then after insulting Smith he moved over to Kidd who he said didn’t even have the genetics to be a part of the Hart Dynasty but had to sleep his way in. This annoyed Kidd who tried to take a pot shot at Cody who ducked, but before the two came to blow each others respected tag team partner pulled them apart. In the final moments of the segment we see Cody smiling as he backs up the ramp with his title belt in hand.

After yet another commercial we are taken to the tag team match of the evening, where we see CM Punk & Chavo Guerrero defeat MVP and Kofi Kingston. The finish came as Luke Gallows pulled Kofi off the apron giving MVP the disadvantage of getting double teamed. This allowed Punk the opportunity to drop MVP with the Go To Sleep which was followed up with a picture perfect Frog splash from the other Guerrero (as CM Punk shouted at him mid match). Despite the Frog splash and being the legal man, Chavo didn’t pick up the pin as he was dragged off of MVP by Punk who tagged himself in. This gained him another W in the win column.

The main event was finally upon the fans in attendance, but as a replacement for Rey Mysterio. We saw Kane take on an opponent of his choice; Evan Bourne, who despite his clear disadvantage who put in one of his best matches of his WWE career. This match gained an A rating but the finish was a shocking finale. As Kane choke slammed Bourne and the referee counted a 1…2…3.

The lights turned black on the three count and the ring bell rang once but slowly merged into church bells which chimed three times to signal the witching hour. However on the big screen didn’t appear the face of The Undertaker, instead the screen shows a giant block of concrete, etched into it are the date of next weeks SmackDown! But as soon as you see the block and the numbers, a demented laugh sounds throughout the arena and the three chimes sound again until darkness consumes the arena for the final time.

WWE released a statement today on <a href="http://www.wwe.com" rel="external nofollow">www.wwe.com</a>, stating that the scheduled Undertaker match was scrapped from the scheduled taping, due to The Undertaker nursing minor niggling injuries. It is unknown whether Callaway will return to SmackDown, we will know more on Tuesday night.

In other news, rumour has it that World Wrestling Entertainment have already signed a major star to return at WrestleMania. There has not been any confirmation from the company at this time. Also, the company has signed the following talents to developmental deals that begin within the next week:

Raw opens this week with a video package showing Randy Orton RKO the Irish born Sheamus, which was enough to win the match but not enough to stop Sheamus attacking Edge and putting him through the announcers table. After the video however we see Sheamus standing proud inside of the ring and he cuts a decent promo on Edge saying that he was weak and fell the same fate as Jamie Noble and that he is just as insignificant as he was.

The opening contest sees Daniel Bryan defeat Wade Barret in a long match that saw both former NXT rookies put each other over to the best of each others ability. Bryan picks up the win through the use of his devastating Lebelle Lock.

However after the match, from the back runs the rest of the Nexus who destroys Bryan in the middle of the ring. Barret arranges the chaos despite losing and as he does, John Cena sprints down to the ringside and tries to rescue Bryan but is overwhelmed. The Nexus pile on top of Cena but it lasts a mere couple of seconds as Cena powers back (reminiscent of Hogan “hulking up”) and takes all of the Nexus out but Barret is quick to escape over the barricade and into the crowd.

The next match of the night comes as we see The Miz and Alex Riley defeat The Great Khali and John Morrison in a tag team match. The finish of the match came as once again The Miz threw Riley in between himself and an annoyed opponent, this time however Riley was destroyed by the Great Khali who raised him above his head and dumped him out to ringside. The Miz escaped for the second week in a row, but Riley, Riley did not.

This match saw the egotistical Michelle McCool want to prove to Natalya that she was twice the diva she is. By proving herself, she vowed to defeat Gail Kim and Tamina (the same opponents as Natalya from last weeks Raw) in half the time. However, Michelle took an extra two minutes to defeat them and with some help from Layla who was outside the ring for the whole match.

After we come back from a commercial we are taken to the locker room, the camera man moves through the door which has masking tape with “The Worlds Dashing Tag Team.” We see Cody Rhodes watching his own promo from last week and telling Drew (who remains silent) that he meant everything he said. However they are interrupted by a familiar tag team on Raw; The Uso’s who confront Cody. Jimmy and Jey run their mouths saying how they are the greatest team on Raw and that they are apart of the greatest wrestling families in history.

This segment gains a good face reaction for the Uso’s but remain heel for now as they also tell Cody that he was right, in saying that DH Smith and Kidd haven’t the right to be called the Hart Dynasty.

The biggest upset of the night came as the crowd who were firmly rooted towards John Cena were shocked when their beloved former WWE Champion was destroyed by William Regal; with a little help from the Nexus. The finish of the match comes as Wade Barret leads his outside invaders down the ramp and they stare at Cena allowing Regal to gain momentum and with constant leg trips and distractions to the referee Regal practically used every underhanded move in the book. He won when he smashed the jaw of Cena after being handed his brass knuckles from Wade Barret.

After the match the attack wasn’t over, Regal was content with his victory and left the ring. But the Nexus weren’t finished yet, under orders, Tarver grabbed a table from under the ring and set it up inside the ring. But as he does, from the crowd runs Evan Bourne who tries his best to help Cena and manages to dissolve the Nexus out of the ring but as he does. Up stands Cena behind Bourne, he smiles before turning him around and as Bourne turns he is taunted by Cena. Cena drives Bourne through the table with his FU but the camera cuts to commercial soon as Bourne lands.

The main event of the evening saw Randy Orton defeat Sheamus via a disqualification, due to Sheamus not breaking his chokehold despite Orton having the rope for a few minutes. However after the match Sheamus was pulled off of the champion by security only for him to waste another announcers table with the help from his Celtic Cross and a member of the security team.

We start this week SmackDown with the third first round match of the King of the Ring tournament, regarding the blue side of things. We saw Montel Vontavious Porter defeat Chavo Guerrero in 17:42 via his Playmaker finishing move. This finish of the match was a clean one despite Chavo complaining about the loss.

The second match of the night comes straight after the first commercial of the night, it saw Natalya pick up the win over Layla. However the finish of the match came as an overconfident (some say egotistical) Alberto Del Rio came out onto the entrance ramp and began speaking in Spanish, berating Kaval and Michelle McCool who stand at ringside. This also distracted Layla who seemed to be swept off of her feet, until a second or two later when she actually was. Natalya picked up the win via the Sharpshooter.

After the match Del Rio is ran off of the entrance ramp by Kaval as Michelle consolidates with the beaten Layla.

This match saw Dashing Cody Rhodes & Drew McIntyre defeat the Hart Dynasty through interference from the Usos and Tamina. The finish of the match came as we saw the Usos and Tamina run down to ringside only to drag Natalya Neidhart up the ramp; this saw Tyson Kidd sprint up after them leaving Smith alone. Smith was pinned by the Dashing one; Cody Rhodes after 15:26.

The next segment saw Maryse and Brett DiBiase sitting watching the events unfold between the Hart Dynasty and The Worlds Dashing Tag Team. But as they do, Ted walks in and begins to look worried and shouts down at his brother. He tells them that he has the biggest opportunity of his career, to take on The Undertaker and Rey Mysterio in the main event, as he finished shouting Ted walks out clearly nervous about the match. However as he does, Brett smiles at Maryse and tells her not to worry, he’ll sort it out.

The next match of the night came as we saw the final first round match of the tournament come to a close. CM Punk picked up his first win in the tournament over, Kofi Kingston in a hard fought 18:30 match. The ending came as Punk gained the upper hand and defeated Kofi Kingston after scouting his Trouble In Paradise, only to duck under it and land him with the GTS.

After the match, the camera cuts to the back where we see a heated confrontation between Jack Swagger and CM Punk who is walking through the curtain and into the back. But before it comes to blows Punk laughs in his face and walks off.

The main event was finally upon us and we saw The Undertaker and Rey Mysterio draw with Kane and Ted DiBiase. The referee had to call the match off after 15:59 when Brett DiBiase interfered, followed by Rey Mysterio eliminating; himself, Ted & Brett and Maryse when he performed a plancha over the top rope. Almost simultaneously, we see The Undertaker get scooped up and planted on his head with the Tombstone Pile driver from Kane. But as he does, the lights go black again.

The show returns from commercial but it is still black, it remains that way for another couple of minutes. Until. A demented laugh fills the arena and the fans quieten to a silent whisper. The three bells chime and thus begin the chanting of the druids and out they walk with torches in hand, carving a line of line through the darkness. As the torches ignite the arena, the rain starts to sound through the chanting and on the entrance way stands a dark shadow with water bouncing off of its shoulders which runs to a river of blue light down the ramp. The music stops and the lights brighten to a dark blue and the fans erupt as the Satan’s structure stands erect around the ring. But inside it, inside the Cell is not the scattered bodies of Rey or either the DiBiases, but that of The Undertaker. He is lying on the canvas motionless, but beside him stands Kane, who looks stunned, fixated on the ghostly figure that stands on the entrance.

By the time the lights brighten, The Undertaker was gone and on the screen shows The Dead man with a sledge hammer working on destroying, the concrete block, inch by inch and piece by piece. But as he starts to expose the face of the man concealed within it, the lights go off one last time. The three gongs begin as with last weeks show and on the screen flashes a white outline of a short fat man with a distorted face… It flashes again and again until there was silence, only the sound of the water on the entrance ramp could be heard…
