TNA 2010: An Immortal iMPACT! Cross the Line

Thanks for all the predictions so far, folks.

Quick questions for my readers (predicting or otherwise) - what are your views on hiring from...the enemy? :D

By this I mean, how would you feel about me hiring a WWE superstar who is still currently contracted to them in the real world. Now, I am not planning on hiring Triple H and The Undertaker and renaming then Quadruple P and The Funeral Director, but some of the lower card talent could possibly come in useful. Those workers that have left the 'E so far this year (Maria, Burchill, James etc.) will leave on the same date they left in RL, but what about those that haven't left but whose contract comes up in-game? How do we know that Christian didn't sign a new contract in May?

So, any thoughts? :D

If they are talented I say go for it. I would love to see people like Punk, Christian, Swagger, Morrison, Benjamin, Bourne, etc in your TNA but don't want people like HHH, Khali or Henry in. But of course I only want them in if you can fit them in around the talent you already have...no firing Red, Lethal etc to free up roster space.

That's my opinion on this matter (well actually TNA in real life but what are the chances they will listen to me :p)

Thanks for the quick reply 1234. I definitely won't be hiring anybody a) that has publicly said they won't work for TNA or anything to that effect (e.g. Batista) b) anyone that wouldn't work for TNA for any other reason (e.g. Triple H, Undertaker, Kane, Cena) or c) anyone useless (e.g. Vladimir Kozlov).

But would you (question is open to all still) think it strange to see Evan Bourne debut at Against All Odds when we know, in real-life, that he didn't? Makes no difference to anyone?

My honest thoughts on hiring like this is simple: if you can use him/her, take him/her. This is a different universe than the real life universe where anything can happen and anything can take a different road. Of course not everyone will sign for TNA. Not everyone will even want to go to TNA rather than working the indy scene in hopes of returning to the 'E.' However, if someone's contract comes up and you think they will be useful then I say go for it.

If it makes sense to you..and there's a logical explanation for it...go for it.

I mean..guys like triple h and taker, i can see how that would bother someone. But the E has always had problems with pushing smaller workers or giving up on workers too soon.

So if a guy like Christian or Morrison or Punk or Danielson comes available, sign 'em up.

I mean...if their talent relations department were willing to cut loose Dinero, Morgan, Anderson, etc..workers with obvious potential who've enjoyed great runs in TNA...then who's to say they wouldn't cut some other talented workers that you could use.

Nope. I have no idea when/if Bourne's contract was renewed his year. If your game decided it happened in Feb then I will accept that. It's your game in the end though so events should mirror reality as much or as little as you want.

Eagle-eyed iMPACT! viewers have been quick to inform Turnbuckle News of the identity Hogan and Bischoff's new female assistant. Although one reader claimed that Torrie Wilson had dyed her hair to play the part, the majority of you have correctly pointed out the former WWE/ECW Diva Brooke Adams was the PA in question. Adams' TNA character name has not yet been released, nor has her 'debut' been mentioned in any official capacity by the company. </tr></td></table>

TNA fans should prepare for huge changes starting 21/1 (the date of TNA's Genesis PPV) according to the promotion's President Dixie Carter. Whilst answering a number of tweets from fans over the last few days Dixie revealed the following;

"huge changes coming on 1/21...don't miss it!!!"

A turnbucklenews.com source has claimed that these 'huge changes' will be a re-designed iMPACT! Zone. This certainly seems plausible given Hogan and Bischoff's previously outspoken dislike of the six-sided ring currently used by TNA. More news as we get it.</td></tr></table>

Hart is a long-time friend of Hulk Hogan whilst Rougeau, who also played The Mountie, famously won a clean victory over Hulk Hogan at a WCW house show in Montreal. LEAVE MY HULKOSITY ALONE

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/TNA/News/PETERHILTON.jpg

ARTICLE WRITTEN BY PURE HATRED (AKA PETERHILTON)

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/TNA/News/BlackFade.jpg

Namaste, aloha, hola and click-clack-clock...It's time for you toolsheds to put down this month's edition of Wrestle Babes, wipe the drool from your lower lips, and pay attention to to the single most influential wrestling journalist since people actually thought those Top 10 lists in PWI meant something...Pure Hatred.

(wait for it)

...HATRED!!!!

Last week we talked about the debut episode of TNA Impact. Ok, so technically it wasn't the "debut" ...but it was the first time yours truly paid attention thanks to the introduction of the Immortal One, Terry Bollea.

I tuned in to the follow up episode and I noticed a couple of things:

1) Kurt Angle can still work a match like no one on the planet. It's nauseating that I have to listen to people call HBK 'the best wrestler in the business' or whatever you goobers like to say when Sexy Kurt is still able to make a tub-o'-goo like Fat Joe look that good.

2) Hulk Hogan is still not TNA champ (no, I don't know why either). And finally...

3) Apparently TNA has decided to push two of their young stars Desmond Wolfe and 'The Black Pope' D'Angelo Dinero by involving them in an angle with 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair. And my question is: Why?

No..not why Dinero and Wolfe. Both guys are great young talents that are athletic and entertaining in the ring and both can cut a mean promo. Pushing those two is a great move.

I'm asking: Why Flair? You already have the greatness that IS the Hulkster..why do you bring in Flair? How many oldsters do you need on the program? You have Foley, too...I assume Sting is still in the plans...what's next? Hall? Nash? Vader?

Ric Flair is unnecessary. All he does is detract from the Hulkosity. I know you booger eaters don't like hearing it, but Ric is overrated.

That's right. I said it.

Everyone wants to talk about how "incredible" he is in his promos...but to me he's been saying the same damn thing for 40 years. "Limo ridin' high flyin' ...woooo...blahblahblah." Who cares? And that lettuc...I swear the last time I saw a guy do the rich guy gimmick like Flair with hair that bad it was Donald Trump.

But at least Trump only went bankrupt once.

Boo-Ya!

And that whole "Flair is a better worker than Hogan" garbage. Why? Why, I ask? And I'll get answers like "Ric Flair could wrestle a broom and make it look good."

What's so great about that? Wrestling a broom? How is that a skill? Chavo carried that little wooden horse around in WCW and you people crapped all over it. But Flair does it and you guys act like he's a WRESTLING GOD. Why is Flair's broom better than Chavo's horse?

You know what I think.

You people are racist.

Deal with it.

In other news...

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/TNA/News/BlackFade.jpg

...Speaking of the oldsters...NJPW have recently hired both Ted Dibiase Sr and 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper. It seems as though they bring name value even to Japanese promotions. With the popularity of the 'nostalgia' circuit, there's even been talk of people like Harley Race or Jacques Rougeau making some appearances for TNA at Genesis.

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/TNA/News/BlackFade.jpg

...Fans of the 'enigmatic charisma' (or whatever he's called) Jeff Hardy have pointed out that TNA must have some kind of assurances about his legal status, since they signed him to a deal.

My take? TNA was willing to do ANYTHING to steal away a big name from the 'E, including ignoring Hardy's legal issues (and total inability to cut an interesting promo). So who cares about those drug trafficking charges?

Not Dixie Carter.

And word is Hardy refused treatment. So this a perfect marriage between a desperate promotion and a wrestler with a problem who wanted to work for a company that wasn't harshing his mellow by testing his urine or asking him to work more than a couple days a month.

Love at first pipe...

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/TNA/News/BlackFade.jpg

...Rumours continue to fly about the status of Ken (Mr Kennedy) Anderson. It seems logical that a guy like him - still young, still talented, still known, doesn't have that "WWE cast-off" stigma - would be the next logical target.

But he's leaked no word. And that dude tweets if his bowel movements are irregular. So is he being quiet because he really is done with wrestling, as he's claimed? Or is this just the calm before the storm?

Either way...if Ken isn't at the top of TNA's Most Wanted List, he should be.

'Til Next Time...

I'd just like to thank everyone's responses to the hiring of WWE stars question. The consensus seems to be just go with the situations the game throws at me so that's what I'll do. I'm not going to go overboard; I've got plans for the next year(ish) so adding a bunch of new talent isn't on the cards. Obviously, I'll also being staying realistic with my signings, so no Undertaker-Sting dream match I'm afraid ;)

I'm hoping to get the show finished tomorrow and ready for posting on Saturday (possibly Sunday) so you still have time to get in those predictions, should you be so inclined :D

First off, it's time to spoil millions of people's Monday nights. That's right, RAW is about to get their cover blown. Last go-round, I called the spectacular god-push for Kofi Kingston over the Big Show and his angle appearance in breaking up the scuffle between HHH and Shawn Michaels. For some reason, Kingston's upset over Show wasn't enough for one try. He's got a rematch with fat boy Monday night, where Show's vowed revenge for losing to a skinny "Jamaican".</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';">

Well, he's gonna lose...again.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';">

Yep, losing to Kofi once wasn't enough. This push is going straight to the top, party people.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';">

Speaking of HHH and Shawn Michaels AND rematches, we all saw Kingston break up that little confrontation between the two last week, right? And HHH beat Shawn in that street fight? Well, the writers over in the Universe decided to help out with recycling. That's right, they're gonna reuse the same card. An "unannounced" rematch between the two is coming this week. But, unlike the finish last week, the Heartbreak Kid is coming out on top...setting up an inevitable rubber match. Probably next week, alongside Kingston's third straight win over Big Show.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';">

And you people actually enjoy this stuff?</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';">

Bleh. At least they're getting some new guys from FCW this week. That's right. It's about time for a few to get up here, so we don't have to see the same old matches again and again and again.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';">

Dos Caras Jr. (coming up as "Alberto Del Rio") and Hunico (formerly Incognito), two young Mexican lucha sensations, are headed up to the main roster soon. Also, Heath Slater is scheduled for the call-up and...the return of Joey Mercury! Hadn't heard much from JM after that sickening ladder botch a few years back while in MNM, but he's coming back to the main stage soon.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';">

Where will they head? Well, if the WWE wants to use them, it'll be RAW, of course. SmackDown is all about a freaking tag team storyline, and ECW might as well be off the air, as boring as it's getting. For their sake, the four should be getting the RAW brand push.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';">

This is unbearable. Just go watch TNA...maybe they won't screw it all up in a few months.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Trebuchet MS';">

Nothing on the indy front this week, which disappoints me. I actually enjoy that. Anyway, I'm out. This is J. Daniels signing off for Turnbuckle News...just replay last week's RAW episode. Pretty much the same results, trust me. </span></p><p> </p><p>

<p>Ended up going out for the day so I haven't quite finished the show. That said, barring any disasters, it should be done and dusted to post this time tomorrow. So, last chance to get those predictions in - this is your (friendly) 24 hour warning <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Pretty much random pick but Lacey is in the match and she is a weak link by default.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<em>With three title matches it´s looks likely that we have one new champ here and this looks like the match where a change could happen.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<em>I don´t remember when Styles got the title but knowing TNA it´s likely not so long time ago, so too early for the change.</em></p>
