TNA's last iMPACT! before this Sunday's Genesis, being hyped as Hulk Hogan's PPV return, managed to score a 0.70 IVR on Spike TV. This is a big drop from last weeks 0.73, and the second consecutive fall in viewers since the record 0.75 set on the live iMPACT! of 1/1/10. The decline in viewership is thought to be convincing both Spike and Dixie Carter that any move towards a live Monday night iMPACT! will have to be delayed for the time being.

It is being reported elsewhere that Tara will take on ODB for the Knockout title at Genesis, despite no prior hype. Rumours have it that neither Bischoff nor Hulk Hogan have been particularly impressed with the work of either of these women since the new year.

Finally, inside sources claim that D'Angelo Dinero's mystery opponent at Genesis will be a new addition to the TNA roster and not someone already on the books. More information will be released as we get it.</tr></td></table>

OOC: I was planning on waiting until the situation was cleared up, but I would just like to send out a huge thanks to every who voted this diary to its Rookie DOTM victory. I've really been enjoying writing, and booking, these shows but it certainly adds that extra incentive to know that the work is being enjoyed to that extent. I'd also like to congratulate Comradebot - if a diary has ever received 19 votes (!!!) and come second/possibly-joint-first then I'd be surprised. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/eek.png.0e09df00fa222c85760b9bc1700b5405.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I'm hoping to get Genesis written up for posting on Sunday. It's another long one, but with less talking that our first show it might not be as long. That said, I'm finding this style of writing is very easy to get into so I don't envisage too much trouble getting it finished over the next day or so.

Successfully furthering the Angelina Love – Beautiful People storyline, Angelina was desperate to get into the ring at every possible opportunity while her opponents were keen to stay well out of the way. Some less than subtle cheating, and a handful of Wilde's tights from Madison, saw the Beautiful People come out victorious – much to the annoyance of Angelina. When Hardy hit the Twist of Fate on Daniels the crowd thought we had seen the end of the Fallen Angel's X-Division reign but somehow the referee had been taken out! Hardy's pin went unanswered and angrily he stood up, calling for a referee from the back. It was Tara who would end up victorious, however, after a Widow's Peak laid out ODB for the three count. Dinero managed several near falls but in the end Anderson took a leaf out of Flair's book when his low blow, completely missed by the referee, led to a well executed Mic Check. Anderson immediately went for the pin...1....2.....Dinero managed to get his foot on the rope....Anderson pulled it back off...the referee didn't see it...3....Anderson wins! MR. ANDERSON wins in 9:45 via pinfall. Match Rating: C+ TENAY: Mr. Anderson setting the scene for his TNA victory there with a disgusting victory over Dinero... That wasn't to be the case, however, and if anything this match blew the battle of the 1/1/10 iMPACT! out of the water. For nearly 26 minutes Styles and Angle showed everyone in the iMPACT! Zone and everyone at home exactly why they are the very pinnacle of TNA's wrestling roster. Every two count from Angle was matched by one from Styles, every Angle Slam was shrugged off, and every Pele Kick ducked. But the match wasn't confined to the four sides of the new TNA ring. Suicide dives, athletic leaps and baseball slides saw the two competitors slam into the steel ringsteps, the new entrance way and into the steel guard rails. In the end, Styles' second Styles Clash of the evening was too much even for Kurt Angle to take and the champion's subsequent pin reached three. AJ STYLES wins in 25:53 via pinfall to retain his TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT title. Match Rating: B</div></blockquote> [With the match over AJ Styles is keen to keep to his word and heads towards Kurt Angle. The champ helps the Olympic Hero up to his feet and then is distracted by the referee. On his way back up the ramp Angle completely blanks Hulk Hogan who is on his way towards the ring to congratulate AJ Styles on another huge performance. BPP was on the original roster but his feud with Bobby Lashley was never going to go anywhere and when I thought of the possibilities with Hall (because lets face it, Waltman sucks) I had to keep him around. As for the Dinero-Anderson grade...I was pretty surprised myself. A few of Anderson's grades have been a bit suspect, but that is largely due to the 'not dangerous enough' note I get, forget about, and then ignore <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> If anyone has a really good memory (or has watched Genesis recently) they will notice that both the Hogan and Anderson promos were lifted from the show. Was this a shortcut? Not really - in both cases any attempt by me to capture the feel of what they said would come up short so I just went with the 'original.' Plus, it took me longer to find, watch, pause, write, unpause, watch etc. those two promos than it did to finish the rest of the show!

Good morning, INTERWEBS!

OK, you geeks, put down those other columns. Stop reading. If it’s not me or that kid with the taco headed avatar, it’s not worth it. Those other columnists are hacks. I’ve seen better writing on a septic tank's warranty. Those writers on other boards would need a ghost writer to help them make a grocery list.

But not me boy…I’m so talented that my iPod shuffle has the volume set on high because I can barely concentrate over all those angels singing when I start typing.

But enough about me..let’s talk about TNA.

This week, let’s do a little analysis about the first PPV since Hulk Hogan came on board. Or as I like to call it: The first TNA PPV worth a damn.

HIGH: Opening the show with Hogan. It’s what we paid to see, so that’s a great decision. And letting Hogan talk down to all the internet crybabies crying about the six-sided ring. WAHHHHHH!!!!! So what if the ring helped give TNA it’s identity? So did Jeff Jarret..how’d that work out for you?

LOW: the ECW revival. Listen, I definitely prefer the Dudleys as heels, but was there a better way to do it without having MCMG do the job to Stevie & Raven? Going forward, I just hope this doesn’t become a full-fledged faction. Because nobody is interested in seeing a group of over-the-hill wrestlers reliving a company that closed a decade ago in TNA, where ECW has little-to-no connection

HIGH: The Bootylicious Beautiful People/Angelina Love Match

LOW: Two big girls rasslin’for the KO Title

I’m sure I’ll get flack for this, but TNA needs to take a good look at its initials and realize that they will draw in more fans by playing to the sexy. There’s nothing wrong with bringing in the so-called “legitimate women’s wrestling.” But unless it’s Kong or someone who can draw in fans at that same level, the KO division needs to be wrapped around the better looking girls on the roster.

HIGH: Big names doing their part. In the past, TNA has brought in big names seemingly just for the sake of bringing in big names. At Genesis, we saw Jeff Hardy put over Chris Daniels and start a program that could boost the X-Division. We saw Ken Anderson cut an awesome debut promo. We saw Scott Steiner be awesome because he’s Scott Steiner. And we even saw Scott Hall show up sober and only slightly bleary-eyed.

They flexed their starpower without detracting from the show...that’s how you book new additions TNA...KUTDGW.

HIGH: Angle/AJ. They did their usual stuff and it was a great way to close the show

Overall this was a tremendous PPV that I’d have given an A grade except for one last LOW that was too heinous to ignore

LOW: Not enough Hulkamania.

You almost had me there TNA. Just 15 or 20 more minutes of the Hulkster showing off his 24' pythons and talking about surfing with sharks off Venice Beach, and I'd have bought in completely.

You blew it, TNA.

In other news…

In the WWE (or as I normally refer to it, The GOOD wrestling promotion), a tremor was sent though the Universe when Kane of all people won the Royal Rumble. Holy crap, really? KANE??? Remind me not to buy WM since this looks like it’s headed to Undertaker/Kane for the bajillionth time.

In a sign that the E may have some confidence in Christian after all, he fought Batista to a draw for the ECW title.

And – in another move that should bring out equal numbers of haters and pervs who dig MILFs – Stephanie McMahon made a return as an on-screen character. FINALLY…the McMahon/Helmsley Era can live again!

Welcome back, boys and girls. On this episode of The Spoils: TNA ruins almost everything, ECW falls flat on their face after a solid part in the PPV, and we've got another blurb in "Keeping Up With Kofi."

First off, I want to recap TNA's Genesis PPV. Decent show, in my opinion...but they made me go ballistic from the opening segment. I mean, why would you take out the six-sided ring? Really? This made TNA unique, but the Geritol Gang running the joint didn't like it too much. I mean, if you want to separate yourself from WWE, keep the freaking six sides! Awesome job, guys: you kept the belt on AJ Styles, debuted Mr. Kennedy/Anderson along with Big Poppa Pump and Scott Hall...but you took out the only thing I loved about the company. Way to rip out my heart, TNA.

While I'm on the TNA bashing, let's look at their Knockout Division. The Beautiful People (you ain't ever lied there, Mr. Tag Team Namer) had an excellent match with former member Angelina Love and...two other chicks. But the title match went to two scary ones...and it sucked. Good thing Tara got the defense, because ODB won't be seeing the title anymore. That's right, mark it: ODB will not be offered a contract extension with TNA. The world's most disgusting female wrassler is out! I'm with my colleague Pure Hatred...most of us ain't interested in serious competition between the fairer gender. With people like The Beautiful People, put more emphasis on their stronger suit: their looks. Oh, and TNA is rumored to pick up some Mexicans in ODB's place. In body size terms, that would take like, seven Doctor Wagner Juniors.

Well, enough about TNA. It's time for "Keeping Up With Kofi"! Our favorite fake Jamaican went to the Royal Rumble and splattered Shelton Benjamin across the canvas, most likely because Benjamin can't find the ring without Charlie Haas holding his hand. Bring The World's Greatest Tag Team back, dang it. Kofi still looks to be going strong, and the WWE fanboys seems to be embracing him. More popularity equals more pushing, so look for "Keeping Up With Kofi" to continue.

And, finally, what the heck is going on down in ECW? The WWE's "hardcore" brand never ceases to amaze me. We get a Christian/Batista draw for the ECW title at the Rumble...and I hear of this??? Zack Ryder will be going over in the main event. Sounds bad enough? Wait to you find out who his opponent is.
