WWF: Attitude Reinvinted

Recommended Posts

The Day After Survivor Series:

It was to clear to every one in the WWF that if you screw Vince McMahon, the Vince McMahon can and will screw you too. Even if he has to take it in the public. He made an example out of Bret Hart already. It was set before that Bret Hart would long stay in the WWF even if had to take a pay cut. Something that he probably would never do. WWF were in troubles especially in their finances as they try to gain profit and provide higher salaries for their main superstars in the company. It was easy to say that Bret Hart took the paycut in his contract but it was an opportunity for Vince's rival, Eric Bischoff to hit the final nail in the coffin and finally take the complete lead in the Monday Night Wars. After offering Bret Hart a much higher paying contract, Bret had no choice but to take the better offer and ditch Vince McMahon and the WWF.

Survivor Series 1997: Vince took it all the way and make Bret's image look bad. He put Bret's reputation in the main event. In a main event match between Bret Hart, the WWF Champion and the "Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, Vince McMahon did all his best to destroy Bret Hart before he could even make a great impact in WCW. When referee Earl Hebner was instructed by McMahon to ring the bell, it was all over for Bret. He didn't tap out of the Sharpshooter but the bell rang anyway, and Shawn Michaels was champion again. Embarrassed in his hometown of Montreal, Bret Hart went wild and spitted on Vince's face. Thus: The Montreal Screwjob was born.

The press was all over McMahon. From the news shows to the WWF staff getting interviews from the Chairman of the Board, he only made a statement regards to what happened at Survivor Series: "Bret screwed Bret".

In reality, Vince Screwed Bret.

The day after Survivor Series, Vince called a meeting regardless to talk to his wrestlers, his staff, and all the people that worked for him. After what happened to Survivor Series, he found out that Bret and the majority of the Hart Foundation left the WWF. He granted Neidhart and Davey Boy their releases. He assumed that their next destination would be at WCW. The day after Survivor Series, he made a speech towards his company.

"Whatever happened at Survivor Series will sure not damn affect everyone unless you let it affect yourself. Bret Hart was an a--hole for all I give a crap about. He had an ego, he wanted more power and hell he wanted the money!!! All of you are now damn aware that if you ever and I mean ever do something like what Bret did and sell out to that bastard Bischoff, you are going to get the same damn treatment. I could repeat the screwjob for all I care if you ever mess with me. We are damn losing the war against a bunch of sell outs and that dumba-- Ted Turner. So what I want is change. I don't wanna compete with them with the same product. Hell if we are going to beat WCW, we are going to push them to the limits.

"We have the guys to push them to the limits. Shawn Michaels, your our damn champion!! You are going to show to Hogan that you are the better champion. You represent the new generation!! You are a hell of a prospect and you and Hunter stay with me and you guys are going to skyrocket the ratings. Austin, nuff said. Starting from now on, we are going to make a star out of you and each and everyone of you who can prove to me that you are the best damn thing in my company. If you can't do that, then you better get the hell out here!!!

"If we are going to compete with that damn WCW, then we are going to show them competition. Starting from now on, I'll take charge of the book. Vince Russo, Jim Cornette, and Jim Ross, you three are going to help me turn this company into an attitude powerhouse. If we want those ratings then we have to go to way far and show those fans what they want is a new rebellious attitude. We are heading to a new generation of fans and hell we're going to make money out of them. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the new WWF!!!!!!"

The declaration of the new WWF. Taking it to the limits. It was the end of the new generation. And now it was the start of attitude.

The press are still all over what happened at Montreal. Vince McMahon has appeared in the late night shows, advertising the publicity of the WWF. But it was for one reason, to hype up the 'new' WWF that he would produce after Bret Hart's departure. He promised the new talents would grow and even overpass the success that Bret Hart has done over his 14 years in the WWF. But Vince really had one motive and that is to stick up to Eric Bischoff's butthole that signing Bret would be the biggest mistake that he would ever do in the Monday Night Wars. To everyone else, it didn't look like Eric's mistake but Vince's mistake. But McMahon had a pride in him and he's not willing to be put out of the spotlight, especially losing in the Monday Night Wars as 1997 comes to an end.

Clearly, Vince put his two loyal men, Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson to act as his bodyguards/members of the staff. It is for a known fact that the controversy at Montreal was more than just Bret Hart getting screwed. It was to end the era that was Bret Hart's and start a new era that would show new subjective matters that would change the image of the WWF. Brisco and Patterson acted as Vince's right hand man, getting the word out, everything he could do to destroy Bret's image before he even appears on a Ted Turner owned national television network. He tried to make Ted Turner and Bret Hart bad throughout the shows, the late night shows, and the interviews. Everything publicity related he did just to try and humiliate Bret Hart even more after Montreal.

Just towards that week, the on-screen rivalry between Steve Austin and Vince McMahon begins after Austin gave McMahon a Stunner on national television, counted as McMahon's few stunners that he would probably get more soon if he keeps his character on WWF's Monday Night Television Show "RAW IS WAR". McMahon's New Generation was evolving to a risque, modernized, cult, mainstream programming that started with D-Generation X and Steve Austin. Characters like Undertaker, Kane and Mankind pushed the darker product of the WWF, producing their monstrous characters with their horrific actions. McMahon was starting to take back the number one spot of the wrestling world once again as he makes his way to take down WCW.

There still lied the problem. Bret Hart's departure caused a backstage revolt. Even McMahon got punched in the face. He had to deal with all kinds of hell after Survivor Series and the only way that he could let it all go was to get back on competition and destroy his arch nemesis, Ted Turner and WCW.

We have heard McMahon say "Bret screwed Bret". But as the aftermath of Survivor Series came, Vince McMahon was being haunted by competition, the problems backstage, and how the hell he would take down WCW while at the same time be at the hardest times of the WWF? Did Vince screwed Bret or "Vince screwed Vince?"

Over the course of the 4 shows towards the In Your House PPV, the growth of numerous stars such as Triple H, Ken Shamrock, Owen Hart, and Goldust started to have good showings. It was a little bit controversial with Owen Hart as he still felt the bad feelings between his brother and him after not going to the WWF. In their family of Harts during this time, Owen was told be the one who sell out and sold his soul to the almighty dollar. Staying in the WWF, was it really worth doing so? Risking his family name by staying in the WWF, it was clear that Owen cannot afford the release clause and he needed the money to provide for his family. The rivalry between Shawn Michaels and Ken Shamrock started to develop but the creative team of Vince McMahon, Vince Russo, Jim Cornette, and Jim Ross all agreed to put Michaels on a long term feud against the "chosen one" or the one who will be the new face of the WWF, carrying on the tradition from one superstar to another. McMahon and Russo believed that the tradition of being the top dog will be going to Stone Cold. The rebellious attitude they needed was Stone Cold. JR also agreed to the idea of putting on Austin as the face of a company, serving as a pun to Eric Bischoff's firing of a highly potential superstar.

Landing a deal with Roland Alexander's All Pro Wrestling, it has come to an agreement that the WWF will be budgeting APW as its developmental training facility. Over the course of November and half of December, Vince McMahon and the company has been able to land agreements with several independent stars from all over the world, enhancing the Lightweight Division, Tag Team Division, and also to create new stars.

Over the course of the month after the In Your House Pay Per View on December, several wrestlers joined the developmental training promotion. It has been planned that Vince McMahon and Jim Ross would be in charge of talent scouting as well being parts of the creative booking team.

The Day of December 6th, 1997

Vince McMahon could not still forget Montreal. It didn't haunt him but the roster's reaction haunted him. Facing a major revolt in the night of Survivor Series, several superstars that were very good backstage friends of Bret Hart such as The Undertaker and Mankind furiously confronted McMahon regards of what happened at Survivor Series. The backstage revolt haunted McMahon for several days as he thought that night he would lose his company since most of his wrestlers threatened to boycott Raw or leave the company together, causing a major gap in the superstars. Shawn Michaels and Paul Levesque were still loyal to McMahon playing politics. He discussed this issue in a meeting with Jim Ross and Jim Cornette without the ever so controversial Vince Russo.

"Ross, would you have left the company after what happened at Montreal?" asked Vince to Jim Ross.

"Hell nah Vince. I'm certainly not working for Eric again. If I leave WWF, I might as well announce my retirement. I ain't going back to WCW again Vince." Ross responded.

"Cornette?" Vince asked.

"Well Vince, for pete's sake we know what we are up against is an unstoppable force and I think that what you did back at Montreal was not the best decision. I know you did it so that the same thing with Alundra Blaze would be prevented. But really if we even tried to offer Bret the contract that he deserves, we would be risking the business." Cornette responded. He paused for a moment. "So if you ask me, I would not leave the company just because some man was so influential he would cause a locker room revolt."

"Hell I almost fired two of my biggest stars along the process. Taker and Mankind." Vince said after his haunting arguments with them after Survivor Series.

"But you know what, starting from now on, after that pay per view, we'll never mention what happened at Montreal. Hell we won't mention the fights that happened after Montreal. And most importantly, it's the perfect time for a new era. A new brand. A new attitude." Vince said, declaring his confident statement.

In Your House: D-Generation X

On Pay Per View Recap:

It was the start of the change in the WWF. After Survivor Series, the name RAW IS WAR was taken seriously now after Shawn Michaels & Triple H of the D-Generation X announced that things are going to be different now that he is the champion. Throughout the road to the pay per view, a rebellious Steve Austin steps up to the plate and manages to set an angle with Vince McMahon himself as a part of the inception of Vince McMahon's evil character, screwing people, the character that he developed at Survivor Series after screwing Bret Hart. During the course to the In Your House Pay Per View, several superstars stepped up to the plate such as The Undertaker, Kane, Mankind, Jeff Jarrett, and Owen Hart showed their game as they were involved in numerous storylines that would pay off in big matches. Ken Shamrock fall starts here as he encounters Shawn Michaels for the WWF Championship. D-Generation X continued and even showed the radical changes that the WWF will have such as skits that would involve perverted humor.

During the course of the pay per view, Triple H entered an intense rivalry with WWF Comissioner Sgt. Slaughter. In the pay per view, he would defeat Slaughter, showing that D-Generation X are uncontrollable and unstoppable. A short term feud between The Rock and Steve Austin for the Intercontinental Title. Even with Vince McMahon on Rock's side, Austin would still win the title then post match, give stunners to Rock and McMahon. Undertaker would evolve his feud with Kane after defeating Jeff Jarrett with his help but he would be later be attacked by Kane and Paul Bearer. In the main event, Shawn Michaels was able to defeat Ken Shamrock. Although, he was later confronted by Steve Austin at the end of the pay per view. What lies to the future of the WWF? Are we going to see changes towards to the next year that will let them defeat their enemies? What will become of the new WWF?

Hours before Monday Night RAW IS WAR, December 8th, 1997:

"Vince, I heard that Bischoff just signed Bret into a contract. He's set to appear next week on Nitro." said Vince's right hand man, Pat Patterson.

"We got one more damn week to make that bastard look bad outside the wrestling world. We need to hit Hart and all of his Canadian fans, just piss the hell out of them" Vince said. Although he didn't think this clearly with his only motive was to set and destroy Bret Hart before his debut on Nitro, he forgot that there was one more Hart in his company.

"Nah, Vince, if we hit Hart, then we lose our fans." said Brisco.

"Shut the hell up Brisco, what do you mean we lose our fans?" replied McMahon.

"Have you forgotten that you didn't let Owen go? He didn't want to follow his brother and his whole family. He's still under contract with the WWF." said Brisco in a soothing mannered reply.

"Dammit. What the hell do we do with him then? He's a hit with the Candian fans and if we lose our fanbase in Canada to WCW, we could have a good chance to lose it all." Vince was worried now. But he has one more Hart left under his roof. Owen Hart. The Canadian wonder. Former King of the Ring winner. A guy who won championsihps in Vince's country.

"Give him to me. I got an idea for him. Just give him to me and I'll put him somewhere on the program." said one Vince Russo out of no where. It was now a fact that Owen was going to be the shadow of Bret's career. His only chance of getting out of that shadow will be if the creative does something with him.

Austin: Now last night, I gave one Rocky whatever his last name is and gave him a good ol' Stone Cold beating. Last night, I showed to that prick Vince McMahon that he can't stop good ol' Stone Cold. I'm for the future, I'm gonna make sure that if he ever gets in my business again, I'll give him a good ol Stunner and put these boots up to his ass!!!

-The crowd cheers-

Austin: Let me see. Oh yeah. Whoever was the no brainer that put this title on the line last night in my match with The Rock was a complete dumbass. Whether it would be McMahon or Slaughter I seriously don't give a crap's ass about this damn belt. This belt is nothing and it's no where in my leagues. If I ever go out there and mess with the big guys, I don't need this damn belt for bragging. This belt just represents the weak. Just like how The Rock was when I gave him a damn stunner and pinned him one two three!! I don't need this piece of garbage in my shoulder. What I damn need is to kick that boy toy Shawn Michaels' ass!!!! If you want me to kick Shawn Michael's ass then gimme a hell yeah!!!!

Fans: Hell Yeah!!!!

Austin: I don't need some Intercontinental Belt that's been held by nobodies. I want a shot at the WWF World Heavyweight Title and if I have to kick everyone's ass in this ring right now to get that title, then damn so be it!!!!

-Vince McMahon starts to walk down to the squared ring as Steve Austin directs his attention to him. Coming along with Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson, Vince McMahon, in his corporate suit comes to the ring to confront Austin.-

Vince: Now you say that you want a WWF World Title Shot and kick Shawn Michael's ass?

Austin: Yeah! And take this garbage and give it to one of your b*tches backstage!! I don't give a damn about that title and I ain't gonna defend it at all.

Vince: You don't want this damn belt? Then so be it!! Brisco, get the damn belt off him.

-Gerald Brisco takes the belt.-

Vince: You see Steve, I run things around here and if you want a damn title shot then you gotta start playing nice around here. I want to maintain this company as an environment ruled by me. Yours damn truly, Vincent Kennedy McMaho

Austin: Oh shut the hell up!!!

Vince: How dare you interrupt me Austin!! How dare you interrupt someone like me!!

Austin: Hell how the dare you not give me Shawn Michaels b*tch!

-Vince reacts to Austin's comment.-

Vince: You want Shawn Michaels so badly? You ain't gonna get him!! There is no chance in hell that you are gonna get a title shot at the WWF World Championship. I would die first before you even get your hands on that belt. There is no chance in hell Austin. I tell you no chance in hell. And to tell this in front of your face, I've already decided the two men who will compete to get a shot at Shawn Michaels at Royal Rumble. Jeff Jarrett & Mankind!! That's right Austin. You ain't in the damn match!!! And since you already gave this Intercontinental belt back, a match will be hosted tonight as Ken Shamrock and The Rock will compete for this belt. Now as for you Austin, like I said, no chance in hell that you are gonna get a shot at that title!!!

Austin: Oh yeah? Vince, as long I don't get a shot at that title, your life will be a living hell. If you think that I won't find my way to that title, you damn wrong Vince. Because Austin 3:16 says that I'm gonna kick everyone's ass to get a shot at that WWF World Heavyweight Title whether you like or not!!!!

-Austin gives McMahon the middle finger and he shortly follows it with the punches. He starts to throw out Brisco and Patterson out of the ring and he circles around Vince. After clearing out to get to Vince and give him a beating, he gives him a Stunner!!! He gets down on the ground and taunts Vince, just like a rattlesnake. Stone Cold's music starts to play as the fans cheer for the rebellious superstar, kicking off RAW.

WWF European Title Match

Vader vs. Triple H ©

-Vader came out being cheered by the fans as he has a chance to cripple Triple H and take the European Belt. Triple H was accompanied by Chyna to the ring in this one fall match. Vader and Triple H fought a hard contest which these two men beat each other up. Vader was in control after a big body slam. But Triple H took control after Chyna distracted the referee and Triple H gave Vader the low blow, following the Pedigree.-

Winner: Triple H

WWF Tag Team Title Match

The New Blackjacks vs. The New Age Outlaws ©

A battle of the new in this tag team match. The New Blackjacks looked determined to overthrow the Outlaws and become the tag team champions. Blackjack Bradshaw showed his dominance in the match as he gave several clotheslines to the Outlaws. But as Blackjack Windham was beat up by Road Dogg outside the ring, Blackjack Bradshaw had no one to tag to. Road Dogg and Billy Gunn double team Bradshaw and finally pinning him, retaining the titles.

Winner: New Age Outlaws

Rating: C-

-Post match, Road Dogg and Billy Gunn celebrated inside the ring. But they were not done. They went out of the ring and grabbed several weapons under the ring such as trash cans and steel chairs. Inside the ring where Bradshaw and Windhamn grouped, they were quickly ambushed by the Outlaws with the trash cans and the steel chairs.-

JR: Oh what the hell? Outlaws are beating the hell out of the Blackjacks!!

King: This ain't right JR!!

JR: Sure isn't King.

-Road Dogg and Billy Gunn quickly take out Bradshaw and toss him out of the ring. The trash can was still in the ring and so were the steel chairs. Road Dogg carries Bradshaw and gives him a Piledriver through the steel chair. Billy Gunn slams the trash can to Bradshaw's head as they would just put the veteran into retirement. Outlaws celebrate with blood in their hands as they exit the ring.-

----------

-Backstage, we go to Michael Cole-.

Cole: Ladies and gentlemen, my guests at this time, D-Generation X, Triple H and your WWF World Heavyweight Champion, Shawn Michaels.

HBK: D-Generation X baby!!!

Cole: Shawn Michaels, last night you defeated Ken Shamrock.

HBK: Stop right there Michael Cole. Stop right there. Now we all knew that it was a unanimous decision when it comes to Shawn Michaels and Iron Man Matches. Every single WWF fan knows that when I go inside that ring to compete in an Iron Man Match, it is a simple fact that I always win. You can call me the King of the Iron Man Matches!! Haha because you all know its true. Ken Shamrock never and I mean never stood a chance against me and certainly he's a certified authentic born loser that doesn't even deserve to be in this business!!

Cole: Just to ask a question, what happens from here now that we head to Royal Rumble? What are D-Generation X's plans towards the new year?

HBK: Shut up for just a second there Michael Cole. Now we all know that it's going to be a new year. Recapping this year, there is only one simple fact that I've done this year and that is to run those grand wizards known as the Hart Foundation out of the WWF. I've driven them out. And what I did two pay per views ago was the end of it. Hart Foundation, they are gone for all I care. Towards the next year, there is only one thing that we, D-Generation X are going to do and that is to run this show to a havoc. Hell, I could care less of who's gonna face me at Royal Rumble whether it would be that crazy Mankind or that hilibilly Jeff Jarrett. It doesn't matter because D-generation X is here to put everyone on the edges of their seats. We are going to be ruling this place and we are going defy whatever there is to defy.

HHH: Hell, it's damn sure that Slaughter won't be coming back for a damn while.

HBK: Hell yeah. And even if that trash Steve Austin gets to my belt, I won't show mercy. We're the D-Generation X and if none of you like that then we got two words for you!!!!

DX: SUCK IT!!!!

Cole: Back to you JR.

Owen Hart vs. Goldust

-The battle between the infamous Bizzare One and the last of the Harts in the WWF. After a lone man now, Owen tries to bring back the glory of the Harts, starting with the match with Goldust. A technical based contest as we saw many different kinds of submission. But only in the end, we saw Owen Hart on top of Goldust after making him tap with a Sharpshooter.-

Winner: Owen Hart

Rating: B-

JR: A glorious victory for Owen Hart.

King: Too bad, no more Hart Foundation.

JR: Everyone expects great things with this kid especially when he locks in that Sharpshooter.

King: Not me JR. Not me.

-Owen asked for a mic after his match.-

Owen: No more Hart Foundation. Yeah that's the news. No more Jim, no more Davey Boy, hell no more Bret!!! For all I give a crap about those guys, they ditched this place to go to another man's treasure. They say that I'm the one who sold out and stayed here. But look at this, you Americans are all cheering for me. That's good. But I don't really care if any American or Canadian in this building is behind me. No more Hart Foundation. I had enough of what's going on around here. Especially with D-Generation X. Those f'n bastards drove my family out of this company, especially doing it in Montreal. Shawn Michaels, you'll get your time someday when I make you tap out with the Sharpshooter. But Triple H, you no good genital referencing *******. You think your so damn tough because your with the champions. You won that European Title by fluke. You're a pathetic man. And to show you that winning takes real skills, I want you and your dumb wrestling skills and I want that European Title.

-Triple H came out to the ring along with Chyna as they confronted Owen.-

HHH: Who the hell are you to call my wrestling skills dumb?

Owen: I'm the guy that's gonna kick your ass for that title you won by fluke boy.

HHH: Don't you dare call me boy.

Owen: Bottom line, I don't do my talking in the ring.

HHH: Bottom line, you want a shot at this? You ain't gonna get it!! And that's final.

-Triple H and Chyna exit the ring refusing Owen's request. However back in the ring, we saw Owen smiling. What could this mean for Owen Hart?

The Undertaker vs. Marc Mero

-The Undertaker and Marc Mero quickly brawled it up as they got inside the ring. The Wildman Marc Mero started this nonsense brawling attitude as he wanted to take down The Undertaker. However, Taker brings back wrestling as he put him into some traditional wrestling moves. Undertaker took over in this match after giving Mero a chokeslam and served him justice with a Tombstone Piledriver.-

Winner: The Undertaker

Rating: B

-Post Match: As The Undertaker celebrates inside the ring with his post match antics, The duo of Paul Bearer and Kane comes out to confront the Undertaker. Undertaker turned his attention to them as they came out with the fashionable destructive entrance, heading to the ring.-

King: Here we go again King.

JR: The rivalry between Undertaker and Kane continues to intensify ladies and gentlemen.

King: And I sure don't like it JR.

-Kane and Undertaker are inside the ring, staring to each other's eyes. Paul Bearer sides behind Kane as The Undertaker wants more of him and his dead body. Kane served as a wall to Paul Bearer. Both brothers stare each other down as we head to backstage.-

----

Cole: I'm right here backstage once again as we speak to one of the competitors for the #1 Contender match that will take place later in the main event. On my side is none other than Double J, Jeff Jarrett.

Jarrett: Pleasure to be here.

Cole: Now Jeff Jarrett, you have the chance to face Shawn Michaels at Royal Rumble for his WWF Championship if you beat Mankind. What are your thoughts?

Jarrett: My thoughts? It's one damn thing and that's to make sure that Mankind doesn't even make it to Royal Rumble. Tonight, I face a guy who brings out socks out of buttcrack. What does that tell you Cole? It just means that Mankind is nothing but a loser who uses socks as weapons. Tonight, I'll make sure that I'm the number one contender and I'll make sure that I get my deserving shot at the WWF Championship.

Cole: What if Mankind beats you tonight?

Jarrett: Not a damn chance Cole. And if you think that, you shouldn't even working for Vince McMahon himself. Mankind, you gonna see that you ain't championship material. Because I'm gonna beat you tonight and go to Royal Rumble and have a date with greatness. Now choke on that slapnuts!!!

http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu289/RWL_Com/WWF/KenShamrock2.jpg vs. http://i656.photobucket.com/albums/uu289/RWL_Com/WWF/The_Rock2.jpg

WWF Intercontinental Title Match

Ken Shamrock vs. The Rock

-Two of the losing men of last night's PPV have a chance to strike a rebound and win the Intercontinental Championship. Both men shows this match as an opportunity to show to the fans that they are worthy to be a champion. Ken Shamrock dominated most of the match, pulling off crazy MMA moves against the Rock that made the fans go "Oh My gawd, what the hell is he doing?". The crowd were starting to connect with Ken Shamrock's crazy attitude towards his in ring skills. But The Rock gets back to his game. We saw in the match that the referee was pulled out of the ring by Kama Mustafa and D'Lo Brown attacked Shamrock from behind, giving The Rock the advantage. Rocky hits the Rock Bottom for the win, winning the gold with a little help from the Nation.-

JR: Oh come on. Nation of Domination comes to Rock's aide and win the Intercontinental Title with no honor.

King: Hey it was a smart move by Kama and D'Lo to help Rocky win the match and now the title goes back to Rocky.

JR: Shamrock was cheated!!!

Winner: The Rock

Rating: B-

Winner Faces Shawn Michaels at Royal Rumble

Mankind vs. Jeff Jarrett

- The match started right away. These two men grappled in the first few minutes of the match. As the match was under process, guess who comes to the announcer's table.-

HBK: Hey JR.

HHH: Hey King.

JR: Where the hell did you two came from?

HBK: I don't really get questioned by those kinda questions JR so why don't you shut the hell up because DX is taking over for the commentaries.

King: Don't talk to him like that.

HHH: Shut up too!!!

-Jeff Jarrett takes over the match after putting Mankind into several variations of the armbar and leg submissions. His mission was to cripple Mankind's legs and make him pay the ultimate price later. Mankind recovers however and takes over the match as he sends Jeff Jarrett outside the ring. Mankind looks to take the fight outside of the ring. Punching Jarrett in the face numerous times, he brings him back to the ring. Mankind looks like he has all the momentum. He waits for Jarrett to get up and as he got up, Mankind tries to give him the Mandible Claw. Mankind misses and gives it to the referee instead. The referee is down from that claw. Shawn Michaels grabs something under the ring and it was a guitar. He slides it inside the ring. Jarrett grabs the guitar and with no referee to watch....-

*BANG!!!*

JR: Shawn, that was unnecessary!!

HBK: Your unnecessary JR. Now do your job!!

-Jarrett looks to have this match. He locks in the Figure Four but no one was there to make it official. Mankind gets back in shape and fights back. As he takes down Jarrett with a body slam, a steel chair was slide inside the ring by Shawn Michaels. He hits Jarrett with the steel chair and he takes up Jarrett and gives him a piledriver to the steel chair. Mankind pins Jarrett and the referee wakes up to make the pin official, giving Mankind the win.

JR: Mankind did it.

HBK: Yadda yada yada, Mankind is facing me for this gold. Big deal. I gave him the win. What the hell? I even gave Jarrett a guitar and he still didn't get the job done. And I give Mankind the chair and he gets the job done? This isn't chaos, this is just gonna get fun.

JR: Ladies and gentlemen, Mankind has a shot to be the WWF Champion when he faces the champ himself Shawn Michaels at Royal Rumble. I'm Jim Ross....

HHH: And this is D-Generation X, and if your not down with that, then we got two words for you!!

DX: SUCK IT!!

-Mankind celebrates as he points at HBK's belt. What will happen next week? Tune in to RAW IS WAR next week on USA!-

December 15th 1997: Before RAW IS WAR Broadcast

It seemed that McMahon wanted to kick off the Attitude Era with an introduction that will get the PG fans to persuade them to a new product of wrestling that heavily focuses on entertainment. Something that has been rarely done since Vince McMahon and the WWF was born. Russo was for it since he was one of the innovators of this product along with McMahon and the creative team. Some people in the creative didn't respect the decision to move to Attitude like Jim Cornette who favors his booking based on traditional aspects of wrestling. It just said it all on what will everyone has to witness as the WWF kicks off, heading to the New Year of 1998. The Cure For The Common Show. The Cure to the war. The Cure for Vince McMahon and the WWF.

JR: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to RAW IS WAR!!!

King: Hell yeah. Vince McMahon kicking off the show with a message for these fans? This should be interesting.

JR: It's surprising that he's back after getting that Stunner from Austin.

King: Surprising indeed. Man I can't wait for tonight!!! Owen Hart did not get that title shot at the European Title but he's gonna get a shot at HBK tonight!!

JR: Oh yes! Owen Hart vs. Shawn Michaels for the WWF Championship. It should be a great battle in the main event tonight.

Chainsaw Charlie vs. Goldust

The match was a back and forth battle. Both men are veterans of the sport. At least Chainsaw Charlie (Terry Funk) was. Goldust used his advantage of youth in this match, showing his athletic skills on his peak. It was a brawl all the way to the end until Goldust pinned Chainsaw Charlie with a flying lariat for the win.

Winner: Goldust

Rating: B-

-Post Match: The New Age Outlaws came out at the presence of the arena, being booed by the thousands of fans in the arena tonight. They came out as Road Dogg rushed inside the ring with a steel chair and Billy Gunn brought out a huge dumpster out to the ramp. Both Gunn and Road Dogg rushed inside the ring not to congratulate Goldust but to beat on Chainsaw Charlie. Beating him up with the weapons that they had, they dragged him to the ramps and threw him in the dumpster.-

JR: By gawd! What the hell are these two doing?

King: This is going to put him to retirement. Look at what this man has go through,

JR: Someone has to stop this madness.

-Road Dogg and Billy Gunn started pushing the dumpster to the edge of the ramps where the dumpster fell, causing a lot of impact inside as Chainsaw Charlie might as well retire from this point. Road Dogg and Billy Gunn high five each other as they have done a job done well. Being booed by the fans, the Outlaws exit the ramp.-

---

-Somewhere on the dark alleys of the backstage area, the cameras are focused into one man, he was Mankind. Walking in a slow pace, he walks back and forth as he was having deep thoughts. He looked into the camera as he spoke.-

Mankind: Shawn Michaels. Boy Toy. WWF World Heavyweight Champion. A no good c0cky, arrogant punk who just plays around like a little kid. You know what you are Shawn? You are no championship material. You are just a punk. You are no where beyond the level in which I was able to suffer. You see, I've been living on the shadow of guys like you Shawn Michaels. I've been living the shadow that is where blood has always been in my hands. You wanna talk championship material Shawn Michaels? You wanna talk someone who can show that they are the best? Well you are not one of those guys. You are just another man in the locker who pulls the strings to get where he wants. Shawn Michaels, I'm no guy who goes in the ring and talk trash. I'm not the guy that plays politics. I'm not the guy that complains about myself. I'm not the guy that stabs other people for better money. Shawn Michaels, you don't know me. You don't know the hell I've been through. And you think I'll just go out there at Royal Rumble and lose because I don't got the guts to fight? Haha, you don't know me at all Shawn Michaels. And tonight, your boyfriend Triple H is going to see what I'm just talking about.

-He pauses for a second, having a smile on his face.-

Mankind: Have A Nice Day!!!

WWF Lightweight Title Match

TAKA Michinoku © vs. Scott Taylor

It was a quick match. Two cruiserweights or lightweights battled this match with quickness and agility to show who is the best. Fortunately for our champion Michinoku, he had more than agility and quickness because he used his genius of using innovative high flying wrestling moves to win the match. A quick match, TAKA Michinoku was able to regain the belt back.

Winner: TAKA Michinoku

-Backstage. we see Paul Bearer and his "son" Kane as they looked onto the cameras, sending a message to their nemesis, The Undertaker. Kane looked menacing as ever as he showed no emotion. The smile of Paul Bearer has been always the same, adding horror to the promo.-

Bearer: Undertaker, you have seen the destruction of my son, your brother, Kane. For the past few months since his debut, you have seen what he is capable of. You should have never left him Undertaker. You should have never abandoned your own brother. And now look at you. You are scared of him Undertaker. You are scared of what Kane has become. You are scared of the monster that was built based in your decisions of leaving him when he was just a little boy. Hahaha Undertaker, you have never seen someone who can put you to your real limits. You have never seen someone who can kill your legacy. I brought you here in this place and I can end you Undertaker. You have seen the destruction that I've brought upon. You've seen a creature that has been built to destroy you. Undertaker, Kane is going to put you in your grave. So rest in peace Deadman!! Rest in PEACE!!!

-An evil laugh was let out by Paul Bearer as the segment fades.-

A match that was worth to watch. An independent name Al Snow is, he starts to catch on with the fans as he brings his manager "Head" with him in the match, connecting with the fans for the crazy attempt. Jeff Jarrett came out and put up a good match with the crazy Al Snow. Showing a good action to the crowd, Jeff Jarrett was hated by the fans with his illegal moves that he pulls out. After a while, Jarrett put Al Snow into the figure four leg lock, getting the win by making Al Snow tap.

Ken Shamrock vs. D'Lo Brown

Ken Shamrock looked to get some revenge tonight as he took on D'Lo Brown. The young rookie almost puts the MMA star to his wrestling limits by pulling out some basic high flying moves and a great intensity of brawling. Shamrock didn't look to lose this match however. By quickly destroying D'Lo with several MMA attacks, he went crazy and creative with the moves that the fans would cheer for him. Geting the win with an Ankle Lock, Shamrock looked dominant in this match.

Winner: Ken Shamrock

Rating: C-

-After the match The Rock and Nation of Domination came out to the ring confronting Ken Shamrock. D'Lo joined up with the group as they surrounded around Ken Shamrock, who was ready to fight all of the members of the Nation, even though he was outnumbered. Rocky hold off his stable mates as he started to speak in front of Ken Shamrock.-

The Rock: It's the nice time to do a championship speech. Hell, it's the best time when you do it in front of the loser. Isn't that right Shamrock. Isn't that right?

-The crowd started booing The Rock.-

The Rock: Shut the hell up, The Great One is talking!

-The crowd boos even more.-

The Rock: You just beat D'Lo Ken. Wow, your starting to work your way towards me. Well The Rock beat you last week to get his glorious Intercontinental Title back and their isn't nothing you can do about it.

-Shamrock was handed by a mic. He was still surrounded by The Nation but he wasn't afraid to speak up.-

Shamrock: Well Rocky, you punk a--. You really think that you beat me last week? Keep dreaming Rocky because we all know that you won that title with the help of these goons of yours. Face it Rocky, you can't beat someone like me. Every single fan that watched the show saw both Mustafa and D'Lo get in the ring and hit me in the back. And tonight, it was just some sweet revenge I got from them. I'm still up to get that title from your sorry ass.

The Rock: Well you won't be getting a shot at this anytime soon Shamrock. The Rock says that you, Ken Shamrock, is no where in the level of greatness as The Rock is. You, Ken Shamrock are no where as good as The Rock. And last week, The Rock proved that by beating your sorry ass in front of thousands of fans last week and in front of millions watching in the television. Ken Shamrock, The Rock says that he beat Ken Shamrock and that is final!!!!

Shamrock: You beat me by cheating Rocky. You are no where as great as I am when it comes to wrestling skills. All of these fans know that you can't damn wrestle. Even I know Rocky. Even I do know that you cannot fight with the

The Rock: IT DOESN"T MATTER WHO I CAN FIGHT WITH!!! Ken Shamrock, you are gonna bet your sorry ass that you ever said that. And The Rock and the Nation says that we are going to kick your ass so up high that you won't even come back to get a shot at this gold!!

-The Nation of Domination attacked with full force as they started to beat on Ken Shamrock. But Shamrock quickly fought off the Nation as he took them down one by one. D'Lo goes down with a suplex from Shamrock. Mustafa attacks Shamrock but he gets caught at Shamrock's belly to belly suplex and gets thrown out like a rag doll. Now The Rock attacks Ken Shamrock. He puts up a fight with Shamrock but Ken reigns in the end as he took Rocky out with a barrage of punches. Shamrock was signaling for the Ankle Lock but D'Lo and Mustafa pulls Rocky out the ring. Shamrock taunts The Nation as his unstoppable force drove them out of the ring.-

We go backstage with Michael Cole as he is in the D-Generation X locker room.

Cole: Michael Cole here with the D-Generation X. Triple H, first of all, can I ask why did you turn down Owen Hart last week?

HHH: Haha, Owen wished that he could wrestle me for this baby right here. He thinks that he could be the European Champion. Well last week, I only turned him down because he was a man that didn't deserve a shot at this gold.

HBK: Hunter, he never deserved to get a title shot at that.

HHH: Well, what he said.

HBK: Dammit Michael Cole, can we just get to me already?

HHH: Shawn needs to be interviewed Cole. Why the hell did you get to me first anyway?

Cole: I thought that..

HBK: Shut the hell up and get to me already.

Cole: Alright. You've heard Mankind that he does not want to get in the ring to confront you.

HBK: Did I really ever give a crap about if Mankind wants to face me in the ring. Tonight, Hunter here is going to make Mankind's life a living hell.

HHH: His life is already a living hell.

HBK: Then I'm gonna make Owen's life a living hell. He ain't gonna get this title and count on that,

HHH: Michael Cole, tonight, DX will reign. Just count on it.

HBK: Haha!! And if your not down with that, then we got two words for ya!!!

Cole: Oh dammit. Not again.

DX: You guessed it Michael Cole!! SUCK IT!!!!!!

Mankind vs. Triple H

The crowd were into the antics of Mankind as he entered the ring. Both men grappled for the first minute until the match turned into a brawl. A combination of a traditional wrestling match and a solid brawl, both men put up a good fight till the finish. Mankind showed some athleticism into him as he competed with it against a very athletic Triple H. However, Chyna's interference almost caused Mankind the match. Fortunately, Chyna's distraction of the referee enabled Mankind to encounter the low blow from Triple H and give him the Mandible Claw for the win.

Winner: Mankind

Rating: B

After the match, Owen Hart came out to the ramp as Mankind left the ring. Just like his brother back in the glory days of the Hart Foundation, he stayed in the ramp, trying to get away from trouble with Triple H.

Owen: Hunter Hearst Helmsley. It just shows that you are a failure in the wrestling ring. You are pathetic, just like I said last week. And man, even with Chyna's distraction, you weren't still able to win the match. You are a pathetic wrestler Triple H. And you are simply no good. Just like I said next week, you don't deserve to be a champion and I'm gonna say it again. You don't deserve to be a champion. You don't deserve that title and I'm simply gonna move on when I beat your boy toy tonight in front of these fans right here.

-The crowd cheers in approval for Owen's message.-

HHH: You think your so tough, why don't you get in here so I could kick your chin and send you to the disabled list!!

Owen: Not tonight. Maybe after I make your boy toy and his c0cky attitude tap out, maybe I'll give you a fight.

HHH: B*tch you get your a-- here right now!!

Owen: In your dreams!!

-Owen leaves as we see a pissed off Triple H inside the ring.-

---

-Backstage we go back to Michael Cole where he is with The Rock and The Nation of Domination.-

Cole: Rocky, can I...

Rock: Can't you see that Ken Shamrock just beat tried to assault The Rock in front of these fans? Can't you see that The Rock is pissed about Ken Shamrock right about now?

Cole: I'm just here to ask a couple of question. First of all, I think that...

Rock: IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU THINK!!!!!!! THE ROCK IS MAD AT KEN SHAMROCK AND THE ROCK IS GOING TO MAKE KEN SHAMROCK PAY!!!!!

Cole: Moving.....

Rock: Michael Cole, don't you ever dare interrupt The Rock when he is talking on an interview. Now, Ken Shamrock, The Rock has got something to say to you. The Rock says that you are a piece of MMA garbage that didn't even deserve to be in the WWF. The Rock says that you never deserved those title shots and that you'll never ever ever win a belt here in the WWF. Look at The Rock. He is greatness. The Rock is championship material. Now three time Intercontinental Champion, The Rock should have been never and The Rock means ever touched by someone like you Ken Shamrock. So if you think that you are that bada-- because you kicked The Rock's bottom, then you are absolutely wrong!! Now CAN YOU SMMEEEEEEELLLLALALALAA!!!!!! WHAT THE ROCK......IS......COOKING!!!!

-The Rock and The Nation leaves of the backstage interview area as we head to the main event.-

WWF World Heavyweight Title Match

Owen Hart vs. Shawn Michaels ©

A match filled with technical and high flying proportions, the crowd was about to see a traditional classic wrestling match. While some of the wrestling geniuses knew that Owen Hart was in no momentum to win this match, it was still a classic match. Owen Hart and Shawn Michaels put up a well deserved match of the night. Heck, it was even better than the ordinary Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels match. Owen Hart showed his skills of technical wrestling and so did Shawn as he countered some of the moves. While Owen Hart had the momentum to put Shawn Michaels on the Sharpshooter, Triple H came out to the ring and distracted Owen Hart. As the referee warns that Triple H is not supposed to be there, Shawn Michaels comes out and low blows Shawn Michaels. HBK signals for the Sweet Chin Music and hits it for the win.

Winner: Shawn Michaels

Rating: A

-Post Match: Triple H came inside the ring to congratulate Shawn Michaels. And outside was they kicked Owen Hart out. First, Triple H gave him a devastating Pedigree as the trio of Triple H, HBK, and Chyna celebrated.-

-But out of no where Steve Austin comes out to the ring and puts away D-Generation X. He wanted one man and that was Shawn Michaels. Kicking out Triple H out of the ring and Chyna as well, Shawn Michaels was out of place. It was him and Austin inside the ring. And just when the right time comes, Stone Cold gave him the Stunner.-

JR: By gawd. Austin sends the message right here tonight ladies and gentlemen.

King: You think that this night would not get any excited, well here is the excitement now!!

JR: Austin just sent the message to McMahon last week and now Michaels.

King: It looks like that Austin is determined to get his hands on that title!!

-Austin squares around HBK's grounded body as he does his famous taunting signature. He comes out with the beer and starts drinking, ending the show with the fade.-
