Sudo_Nym
It's always bugged me that the range for Heavyweight is so large, so for no logical reason other than because I want to, I'm planning to split my Heavyweight division in half, probably creating a new weight class with a limit of 220 or 230; I haven't decided yet. But I don't know what to call it. If I call it Heavyweight, than what do I call the larger half? Super Heavyweight is already taken. My thought is to call it something like Cruiserweight, but it also bugs me if I call the weight class a name that's already used for something else, or if that odd weight class already has a name, and I call it something different. Yes, I'm aware I'm a weird guy, but that's not relevant right now. So any help?
EddieFnG
You should call the lower class 206-230 cruiserweight, then 231-265 the heavyweights, that's what I do.
HansLanda11
I would use Middle Heavyweight division.
kevbk6222
call 205 super middleweight at 225 light heavyweight?
Predicted
Isn't cruiserweight the name they use for that weight range in boxing?
Mr_Tricky
Cruiserweight would be appropriate, but you could call it super light heavyweight or junior heavyweight too.
brashleyholland
It's not too large. If you're too big to reasonably make 205 (so 230-ish and above) then you're big enough to handle most 265lb guys. The bigger you are, especially at 200+lbs the smaller the defect becomes. mitze90
In real life the Ohio Athletic Commission has a Cruiserweight division in amateur MMA, starting at 206 pounds and going up to 225 pounds.
