Two quick things - yes, that's the Nexus theme music. I love it and have loved it since their debut. It fits what The Alliance means so perfectly.

And yes, the Alliance are still very much a face group, so don't worry about that :)

I've still never recieved a question for Out in the Wilderness, and am starting to run out of ideas. Please get sending!

edit; erk, spoiler on top of a new page. Event is on the last page - and am white texting this stuff ^^

super group consisting the Melbourne Blondes, Boo Smithson and Harry Simonson. Sick at the abuse everyone in the APW has faced at the hands of Killdozer, they reason that 4v1 might give them a chance.

The credentials of the group are interesting, and give a bit of background for why they’ve chosen to work together. Harry Simonson is a two time Commonwealth champion, and actually lost the belt to Killdozer back in February 2009. The Melbourne Blondes are the current tag team champions, and are on a hot streak despite fierce competition from The Masters. Boo Smithson is perhaps the least qualified of the group – holding the Australian title before losing it to current champ Stan Standish. However, Boo is the most talented mat wrestler on the continent – and that’s not to be ignored.

The Alliance have formed to do one thing, and only one thing. To hobble, shame and reduce the threat that Killdozer holds to the promotion. Smithson will get his chance at Finest Hour, where he will face Killdozer one on one with Harry Simonson in his corner. Will Dozer be brought down a peg or two?

Tune in and find out.

Card for APW's Finest Hour 2010

Killdozer vs. Boo Smithson w/ Harry Simonson – Smithson has helped found The Alliance, and will have Harry at ringside in case things turn sour. But will that be enough?

Big Daddy Horne vs. Debonair David Peterson vs. Dingo Devine – Shot at the Top Qualifying Match – Which man will gain entry into the most important match of his life? Double duty for Peterson could mean this is far from a sure thing.

Stan Standish vs. Jimmy Stratosphere – Stratosphere has had no luck recently in tag team competition – will going it alone do any good?

The Melbourne Blondes vs. The Masters for the APW Tag Team titles – Sean Quartermainne has called in his team’s title shot almost immediately – and with Dozer gunning for The Alliance, this could be messy for the Blondes.

ALSO: Lanny Williams and Boo Smithson fought last week for a chance in the Shot at the Top match. The match was thrown out – who will travel through to the match? All will be revealed at APW’s Finest Hour!

Killdozer vs. Boo Smithson w/ Harry Simonson

Killdozer needs to win this one in order to justify the need of four faces to gang up on him.

Big Daddy Horne vs. Debonair David Peterson vs. Dingo Devine – Shot at the Top Qualifying Match

DDP is simply the most over guy here

Stan Standish vs. Jimmy Stratosphere

Standish has more going on right now.

The Melbourne Blondes vs. The Masters for the APW Tag Team titles

DDP pulling double duty gives Masters a reason to lose here.

Bonus point - What will happen to the men who drew at Beer Bash, considering Shot at the Top is the event after Finest Hour..

Both guys get a spot in the match.

Killdozer vs. Boo Smithson w/ Harry Simonson

Maybe via DQ or something, but Boo needs to win or The Alliance look slightly pathetic

Big Daddy Horne vs. Debonair David Peterson vs. Dingo Devine

The Shot at the Top seems to be looking at elevating younger guys like Alyx Macquarie, and Dingo's one of APW's brighter young prospects

Stan Standish vs. Jimmy Stratosphere

No, Jimmy. Just...no.

The Melbourne Blondes vs. The Masters for the APW Tag Team titles

If you give it back to The Masters straight away then what's the point of the title switch?

Killdozer vs. Boo Smithson w/ Harry Simonson

Harry Simonson isn't going to be enough help for Boo. Dozer wins, goes to try to destroy his opponent but Alliance makes the save.

Big Daddy Horne vs. Debonair David Peterson vs. Dingo Devine

Shot at the Top is a way to boost younger guys resumes, but to get a good boost you need more than one big name involve.

Stan Standish vs. Jimmy Stratosphere

No, going alone will not help Jimmy Stratosphere

The Melbourne Blondes vs. The Masters for the APW Tag Team titles

Blondes hold onto the titles.

Bonus point - What will happen to the men who drew at Beer Bash, considering Shot at the Top is the event after Finest Hour.. Both get the shots.

Mitch Y. Bryson: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to APW’s Finest Hour!

Frank Mucciolo: I'm Frank Mucciolo and with me is Mitch Bryson, and we’re here to talk you through the best hour of wrestling you will ever see.

MB: The main event tonight features a returning Killdozer clashing with a group specially founded to take him out! Dozer won his current title through hospitalising the champion at the time, and I’m told that we have a special video from Swoop McCarthy for you all later.

The Melbourne Blondes with Steph Drucker vs. The Masters with Sean Quartermainne

APW Tag Team Title Match

MB: Tonight’s first bout is a tag team title match – and you guessed it, The Masters have somehow earned themselves another shot at The Melbourne Blondes. Tensions have been high between these teams all year, and could only get worse as time goes on.

FM: But let’s not forget – Rick Stantz has a shot at Stan Standish for any event that he chooses. Splitting yourself between two title scenes is either brave or foolhardy – and Rick’s too dumb to be brave!

THE ACTION: A very solid match opens up the show, with The Masters trying everything in the book to gain advantage. The Blondes are fuelled up and ready to go, and it’s clear that The Masters are putting Lanny in most of the time to keep Peterson fresh for later on tonight. The referee is very wise to Sean Quartermainne’s nonsense, but misses the APW commissioner going under the ring for a weapon to slide to Williams. Luckily Steph Drucker, manager of the Blondes, is there and she not only knocks the weapon from his hand, she kicks him square in the particulars and send him down. Outraged, Williams is distracted just enough to eat an Axe Kick from Blake, and then get put down for the three from a Rick Stantz flying elbow. The Masters are frustrated again!

It's getting busy out here..

Furious and bickering amongst themselves, Sean Quartermainne gestures for a microphone and clambers into the ring, beside his shattered clients.

Sean Quartermainne: Since the terrible events at the Beer Bash, where the incompetent referee declared Lanny’s match against Boo Smithson a no contest, we have been inundated with requests for clarification about the Shot at the Top match next month. As a result, APW management have made a choice.

He clears his throat.

SQ: Due to underhand tactics present in the match last month, Lanny Williams has been declared the victor, and will progress to the match. As further punishment for his transgressions, Boo Smithson will not be allowed to compete at our Shot at the Top event. Furthermore, he will be suspended unti-

There is a loud “Ahem”. The Blondes are still standing at the top of the ramp, clearly amused by what is going on. And Steph has a microphone.

SD: Sean, sweetheart, I can’t let you carry on with this. What you are trying to do to Boo, unsanctioned by the APW management, is criminal. As is one of your clients, which I’m sure you would like for us to avoid – which I am willing to do, for now. However, you cannot suspend Boo Smithson, and if you are putting Lanny through despite his antics with the chair, Boo must also qualify for the tournament.

Sean is clearly outraged, as are his tag team of bodyguards.

SQ: Now you listen to me, you trumped up little slag! I am the supreme commissioner of Australian Pro Wrestling, and my word is law! I cannot believe you have the audacity to come out here and try this crap on with me!

SD: Co, Sean. Co.

SQ: Christ, boys, beauty but no brains at all. No wonder the Blondes are so fond of her..

SD: The word you are missing, Sean, is co. You are the co-commissioner of Australian Pro Wrestling. As of the Beer Bash, it was considered you were too weak and too biased to officiate APW all by yourself. As such, Mr. McMinister chose to bestow me with new powers that are on par with yours.

Sean has by now turned an amazing shade of red. He looks like a lobster.

SD: So, as a result, it is my first official duty to add Lanny Williams and Boo Smithson to the Australian Pro Wrestling Shot at the Top match. Congratulations to both of the men involved! My second duty is to announce that the final two participants in the Shot at the Top match will be decided in a four man elimination match on the night of the event itself. The participants in this four way match will be chosen at random on the night, from a pool of 8 competitors. Make sure you tune in!

Posing, dancing and generally being awesome, The Blondes and Steph leave – leaving The Masters and Sean absolutely furious, but Sean isn’t done.

SQ: No! No way! Killdozer! Killdozer, I know you’re out there, and I know you’re watching this! If you put Smithson through a table tonight, you will be entered into the Shot at the Top match! Scot free! DO IT!

MB: A challenge for Dozer – and that’s the type of challenge he loves.

FM: Smithson is screwed..

MB: Let’s just re-iterate the competitors next month – we have, in order of qualification, Alyx Macquarie, Boo Smithson, Lanny Williams, Peterson/Horne/Devine from later tonight, plus..

FM: Plus Killdozer if he’s awesome and puts someone through a table – and the final competitor will be decided ON THE NIGHT at Shot at the Top. That’s awesome.

MB: Our new dual commissioner dynamic has already caused massive chaos – what else can happen tonight?

MB: Up next we have a clash between APW Australian champion Stan Standish as he takes on high flying cruiser Jimmy Stratosphere. Stan has had a good past few months – winning his last two matches. Crucially, his last loss was to Rick Stantz – and Rick is owed a title shot at any point.

FM: I wouldn’t put it past that loser to wait til after this match to challenge him. Taking advantage of a weak opponent. Disgusting.

MB: Rick Stantz is slightly more honourable than that, Frank.

THE ACTION: Jimmy starts off strong and should get a bit of a rub from this, but Stan is sharp and on a good run recently. Stratosphere is young and a little too green to truly stand on his own two feet, and Standish exploits this with manager Max Forbes also trying to put him off at all times. Stratosphere botches a springboard jump and lands heavily, and Standish ends it there and then with a knee drop from the second rope.

MB: Cynical and clear from Standish – a message to Stantz.

FM: Come and have a go if you think you’re hard enough!

MB: Well, Frank, a treat for you now! It’s time for the Big Daddy of Love – Big Daddy Horne! The winner of this match will get themselves into the Shot at the Top match next month – could Horne make it?

THE ACTION: Absolutely not. Horne is pretty much just there to make up the numbers in this match, and it quickly becomes the Devine and Peterson show after some initial creepy domination. Devine does have some skills and should have something happen with his career soon – but not yet. His match is all but ended when, bizarrely, Crime Wave interfere and cause him to fall into Peterson’s Hangman’s Neckbreaker – and Debonair David Peterson advances to the Shot at the Top match!

MB: Cruel luck for Dingo there – what on earth were Switchblade and DOA up to out there?

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/apwbanner.jpg

MB: Well, I’m excited! It’s time for our first glimpse of Swoop McCarthy for two months, in a video he recorded for us earlier this week.

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/swoopmccarthy.jpg

Swoop McCarthy is shown reclining on a sofa within a clinically white room. He is wearing normal street clothes, but the eye is drawn to the large white neck brace that he’s currently wearing. Throughout his statement, he’s clearly uncomfortable with it and keeps tugging at it, but it won’t move.

Swoop McCarthy: Look, guys, honestly. I don’t want the attention.

Something is said from off camera that we can’t quite pick up.

SM: I... just.. well, hi everyone out there. I’m told you’ll be watching this at Finest Hour at the end of this week, and with the sheer amount of fan mail I’ve received about my injury, I think it’s time to set you at ease.

Swoop sits up, slightly, grimacing as he does so.

SM: The doctors say I was lucky to still have mobility in areas after being put through two tables by Killdozer. Technically, all I really suffered was some whiplash, but it’s been enough to keep even indomitable old me out for a few months.

Swoop has slipped back while he talks, and sits back up again.

SM: I’m watching, every month, live as Killdozer sits around and abuses the roster. Harry, Boo, Blake, Rick – I love the idea of The Alliance, and I hope Boo brings him down a peg or two later in the week. Keep strong, guys, whatever happens. I almost toppled him, and when I get back, it’ll be fabulous. Now, as for my come back..

Swoop sits himself up, as straight and rigid as he possibly can.

SM: I’ll be back.. I WILL be back. And when I come back, I will make a beeline for Killdozer, and I will put him down and remove him from contention in the APW. If he thinks he caused me pain, I will cause him ten times that. If anyone gets in my way or prevents me from my goal, I will take the law into my own hands.

There is a very pregnant pause, possibly directed at Sean Quartermainne – or even The Alliance. His final line is delivered in a very measured and determined manner, with a lengthy, pain-ridden pause between each word.

SM: I am Swoop McCarthy. And I will destroy Killdozer.

Rating: 58 / C-

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/apwbanner.jpg

MB: Well, Killdozer is back off his suspension, and he’s got a special objective tonight. Unfortunately, folks, if he puts Smithson through a table, he gets into the Shot at the Top match.

FM: This can only end well!

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/killdozer.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/vs.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/boosmithson.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/harrysimonson.jpg

Killdozer vs. Boo Smithson with Harry Simonson

<object width="27" height="25"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDJh6Ofkduw?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="27" height="25"></object>http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/space.png <object width="27" height="25"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nI8R8fIPH28?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="27" height="25"></object>

MB: I've never seen Boo look so happy and natural! This is awesome! Simonson is absolutely bringing out the best in him - The Alliance seems to be working!

THE ACTION: Smithson is accompanied to the ring by Harry Simonson, and the two have awesome chemistry in that arrangement. The Blondes are nowhere to be seen, but you can only imagine they’re being kept out as backup. The match is the longest of the night, and certainly not as one sided as you would imagine. Unfortunately, it’s difficult to put a submission move on a gorilla, and therefore Smithson was struggling massively. Dozer stalked him around the ring, even splitting Boo’s forehead open at one point. Simonson, true to his morals, did not get involved, and it was just a matter of time. Smithson was winded badly by a gorilla press, and walked straight into a 300lb Spear. Dozer pinned him, and immediately slid out of the ring.

Rating: 57 / C-

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/killdozer.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/harrysimonson.jpg

MB: Dozer is outside, and he’s brawling face to face with Harry Simonson!

FM: This is huge – Harry has been desperate to do this all match, and he’s absolutely unloading on Mackenzie!

It doesn’t last long – Harry simply doesn’t have the power, and is beaten backwards and backwards.. before being 300lb Speared into the guard rail around the ring! Dozer goes under the ring, and pulls out a table. Carrying it into the ring, he picks up the prone Boo Smithson and lifts him up..

FM: Gutwrench powerbomb! Smithson goes through the table, and Dozer ensures his place at Shot at the Top!

MB: But here come the cavalry!

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/blakebelushi.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/rickstantz.jpg

The Blondes come haring down to the ring, chairs in hand, and taunt Dozer to the outside. It takes a concerted effort from them to keep him at bay, and they’re starting to struggle when Simonson makes his way to his feet.

MB: Harry’s up! He’s making his way over to Dozer, and taking the fight to him!

All three men use the chairs to beat down Mackenzie, but don’t stop there. Rick and Blake gather a table from under the ring too, and set it up at ringside. Moving back into the ring, they wait for Dozer to start to get mobile again, and wait for him to climb up onto the apron.

MB: No way! No way! BOOM! HEADSHOT!

Harry uses the entire ring for the run up, and catches Mackenzie right under the chin. Badly broken, Dozer wobbles on the apron – and falls backwards through the table previously set up by the Blondes. Helping the bloodied Boo out of the wreckage, the enduring message from the show is that Dozer can be beaten – but at what cost?

Alyx Macquarie vs. Boo Smithson vs. Lanny Williams vs. Debonair David Peterson vs. Killdozer vs. ??? - Shot at the Top Match

Killdozer winning would be boring option as he wouldn´t need to defent his title for some time. Boo just lost to Killdozer and other three guys are all heels and thus not particularly good options to face Killdozer which leaves the mystery participant as best option.

4 man battle royale for Shot at the Top match - 2 points if you can guess who off the roster will win this - they HAVE been seen in this diary before.

Winner will surely be face as Boo is the only face in the main event so far, I go with Harry Simonson.

Dingo Devine + Vance Sturt vs. Crime Wave

Hard to say anything sure here as none off these guys haven´t done anything so far but Sturt and Dingo at least had matches before so I go with them.

I'm going with my pick below to win here too. Lots of things going on in this match. If you put 'Dozer over I'll be suprised and interested on how you would sell shows the rest of the year without your main title being defended all year. Plus, I hate to say it, the only possible/legit #1 contender I see here is DDP, and heel v. heel wouldn't go well.

Swoop McCarthy makes his comeback and takes home the victory.

In my view, easiest pick on the show. Crime Wave is... nothing special. And I like Dingo.

Mitch Y. Bryson: We are live for APW's Shot at the Top - the first and only event of its type in the world! I'm Mitch Bryson and with me is my charming as ever colleague Frank Mucciolo!

Frank Mucciolo: Our main event tonight is a world first - an elimination table match between six of the best the APW has to offer.

MB: The winner gets a shot at APW champion Killdozer - but who in their right mind would really want to put themselves on a collision course with that monster?

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/dingodevine.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/vancesturt.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/vs.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/doa.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/switchblade.jpg

MB: Well, this match came around rather suddenly. Dingo, the master of the suplex, found himself at the receiving end of a beatdown from Crime Wave last month. Why? No-one knows - but with their awful underground connections, it could be anything. Whatever it is, we want no part of it here in APW and hopefully Dingo can put them away tonight.

THE ACTION: A simple and short affair that was low on action. Dingo dominated Crime Wave, allowing them to tag in and out and then suplexing each one straight on their heads. After seven minutes, they'd had enough, and escaped out through the crowd. Sturt and Devine win - but perhaps not in the way they would have wanted.

Rating: 31/ E+

MB: Absolute cowards!

FM: They weren't ready for this match - just you wait - they'll be back and they'll be better!

MB: Well, Frank, what are your thoughts about the four man elimination match coming up? The winner gets into the main event, and our eight man lottery left us with Blake Belushi, Jimmy Stratosphere, Alex Banks and Cole Taylor. Who gets in?

FM: Well-

The Melbourne Blondes with Steph Drucker

MB: And here comes one of the competitors now!

Rick Stantz, however, has the microphone, and he seems pretty keyed up.

Rick Stantz: Well, I'm sure you're all thrilled to learn that my awesome partner Blake Belushi will compete in a qualifier for the Shot at the Top match later tonight! Blake, kick some ass!

The crowd cheer for the Blonde - looking at his competitors, he has to be the favourite.

RS: But my reason for being here is slightly different. As I'm sure you all know, I am the number one contender for the APW Australian title. I can cash that contendership in at any point - and I see no reason why I shouldn't cash that in tonight - right here in Newcastle!

A cheap pop.

RS: So, Stantz - get your ass ready - because once Blake has got through to the Shot at the Top match - it'll be our turn to dance!

As the crowd cheer, the Blondes turn on the ramp and begin to move backstage.

MB: Oh, it had to be...

The Masters jump The Blondes, and knock Rick down. Teaming up on Blake, Peterson hits a Hangman's Neckbreaker on him, and Lanny kicks him off the ramp. Belushi goes down, hard, but Rick rallies. Not wanting injury, The Masters disappear quickly - satisfied that they've taken out someone who could have spoiled their own Shot at the Top.

MB: A deplorable act - how can you sit there so quietly, Frank?

FM: It's all a game, Mitch. And they're playing it to their tactics.

Cole, Alexander and Jimmy come out one by one, but Blake doesn't answer his music. After a few awkward moments, Steph Drucker appears from behind the curtain.

Steph: Unfortunately, my boyfriend Blake Belushi was too badly injured that scandalous beating by The Masters, and will be unable to take his part in this match. However, I am reliably informed that a replacement has been found, and this match can go ahead as planned!

MB: A replacement?

FM: Simonson?

MB: He's back! Swoop McCarthy returns!

FM: No! Not like this!

MB: Goosebumps, Lanny! I've got goosebumps!

The Action: Well, the smarks in the audience saw this coming. Fresh and rejuvenated after overcoming his whiplash, Swoop looks calm and collected and wastes no time in eliminating Cole Taylor and Alex Banks. He shakes hands with Jimmy Stratosphere in a mark of respect, and the two go toe to toe. Jimmy never really looks like taking it, though, and McCarthy puts him over the top rope with a big clothesline - not wishing to subject Jimmy to the Swoop DDT. Swoop McCarthy qualifies for the Shot at the Top match!

MB: A massive win for Swoop McCarthy - and it's time for revenge!

Stan Standish vs. Rick Stantz

APW Australian Title Match

<object width="27" height="25"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DyUkEmAruA?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="27" height="25"></object>http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/space.png <object width="27" height="25"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1sYomH-gkA?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="27" height="25"></object>

FM: This is blatantly unfair - Stan has had no time to prepare for this match, and Rick is being an absolute coward. If he wins this it'll be a massive sham.

THE ACTION: A really solid match, and this has opened some eyes for APW management. Rick looks fluid and gets off to a flyer, almost hitting his flying elbow after only three minutes. However, Stan is quick and uses his knees to his advantage, and set about pulverising Rick's ribs with them. The turning point comes when Stan gets a little too het up, and goes for his High Breed kneedrop from the top rope too soon. Rick is up and waiting for him - and in a tribute to his partner, Axe Kicks Stan to the ground. He hooks the leg - and we have a new Australian champion!

Rating: 50 / D+

MB: Ladies and gentlemen - Rick Stantz is your new APW Australian champion! He's now a dual champion - and I need to check my facts but I think he's the first ever man to hold two titles within your promotion!

FM: I wouldn't waste your time checking the facts.. he won't hold that damn thing for long.

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/apwbanner.jpg

MB: They are now preparing and setting up the tables for our main event tonight, but I've just heard that we've got some footage from a few minutes ago that features Alyx Macquarie. As he's in the main event, this might be worth a watch.

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/alyxmacquarie.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/with.pnghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/harrysimonson.jpg

The video begins with Alyx peering into the camera.

Alyx Macquarie: Alright, guys - I want you to capture this. I've been a bit of a jerk to Harry Simonson, and I want to go and make things right with him. I don't want no-one trying to say I'm no good.

Harry isn't set to compete tonight, but always turns up at the events to share his wisdom and guidance. Alyx makes his way to the locker room, and finds it empty aside from Mr. Simonson. Harry immediately senses the worst, but Alyx's body language disarms him.

AM: Relax, mate. Relax. Look, I've taken a lot of flak recently.

Harry Simonson: I'd say that's deserved. Random attacks, stealing moves - that's not how we do things here, "mate".

AM: I just wanted to say I'm sorry for ruining your chance to get into the Shot at the Top match. You're a top bloke and although you're getting on, you can still move. If it bothers you so much, I'll stop using the Superkick. It's yours.

HS: The Hotshot is a finely tuned art of war. But.. I appreciate it. You've got potential, if you can channel that mean streak to something good.

AM: Look, I tweaked a hamstring earlier in the week. Would you be able to help me warm it up a bit?

Harry smiles; a true veteran of the sport, and nods.

That was the wrong thing to do. Alyx shoots forwards and superkicks him right in the face. Harry goes down, and Alyx spits on him.

AM: How can you be so old, yet so naive? You got the Hotshot? Say hello to my Carcano kick!

A voice off camera, presumably the camera man, can be heard saying "Carcano kick?". The camera goes flying as Alyx hits him with the same move. The lens is focused on the wall it's landed next to, but you can clearly hear Alyx snort and say "Look it up, you bloody idiot".

MB: Well... Macquarie means business tonight, Frank.

FM: This is the biggest night of his life. But I have a feeling there'll be bigger ones. One match does not make a career.

MB: But if he keeps on making enemies - one match will be enough to end it.

MB: It's time for the main event! Let's just run through what this match means. If Killdozer wins, he does not have to defend his title until 2011! If anyone else wins - they get a title shot at any point they choose to take it. And as we just saw with Rick Stantz - that can result in a title change!

THE ACTION: A six man table elimination match isn't that easy to write out in a short format, so borrowing from Eisen-Verse, the stories that came through from this match are:

~ Boo is not quite able to deal with the aggression of these other main eventers. He's a talent, and tied Peterson up in knots, but was eliminated first by Killdozer. Revenge for last week.

~ Peterson and Williams are a fabulous team. They ganged up on McCarthy from the off, then turned their attention to Macquarie.

~ Alyx Macquarie is an up and comer, and managed to eliminate Lanny Williams after a Carcano kick which tumbled him off the apron and through a table.

~ Peterson is still dangerous on his own - eliminating Alyx Macquarie with a Hangman's Neckbreaker through a table.

~ Killdozer is a lethal machine, and speared anything that moved. However, he stayed well away from most of the tables - well aware that a well timed ganging up on him would result in his elimination.

~ Peterson knows when to form alliances - he and Swoop teamed up to work over Mackenzie, and somehow they both managed to lift him up and over the top rope - and sent him crashing through a table at ringside!

~ McCarthy is awesome. With just him and Peterson left in the match, he ran David all over the place. Peterson looked exhausted, and Swoop knew it. Gathering up the marginally smaller man in his arms, Swoop hit him with a leaping side slam, and directed it through the final table.

Swoop McCarthy is your Shot at the Top winner!

Rating: 47 / D

MB: A massive win - a huge shock to see Swoop back - but listen to those fans! They couldn't be more delighted! This is Mitch Bryson signing off - we will see you at Championship Carnival next month!

Final Event Rating: 42 / D

"I'm new to the APW - what on earth has gone on this year?"

It's true that 2010 has been the most turbulent year ever in Australian Pro Wrestling. That's not necessarily a bad thing.

So, a recap so far:

APW Commonwealth championship:

This is the big one - the title that every Australian wants to win above all else. Swoop McCarthy came into 2010 holding it, but lost the belt to Killdozer in April. Dozer went on to injure him badly in that match, and has basically torn everyone apart since. This even caused the formation of a part-time stable called The Alliance, consisting of Harry Simonson, Boo Smithson and The Melbourne Blondes. Swoop McCarthy returned at Shot at the Top and became #1 contender. This can only heat up.

APW Australian championship:

This is the midcard belt and is the general stepping stone to the Commonwealth belt. Stan Standish was our holder until August 2010 at Shot at the Top, where he lost the belt to Rick Stantz who simply outclassed him.

APW Tag Team championship:

A floating title hotly contested between The Melbourne Blondes and The Masters. The Masters had Sean Quartermainne, commissioner of the APW, in their corner, and tried every trick in the book. However, they couldn't quite win the title and it has recently transpired that the manager of The Blondes, Steph Drucker, has now been given a position of power within the company. However, it must be noted that Rick Stantz is now the company's first dual champion - will this cause a conflict? Another notable tag team on the scene are the East Coast Rebels; who have shown nothing but disdain for the rules and values within the APW.

Other conflicts:

~ Lanny Williams and Boo Smithson found themselves a comparable match, but it took cheating and interference for Lanny to come out on top.

~ Harry Simonson tried to reach out to Alyx Macquarie, but got tricked and had his head kicked in. Macquarie is using an identical finisher to Simonson, the Carcano Kick - and Simonson is not impressed.

~ Dingo Devine found himself being attacked by Crime Wave and fought back. He and friend Vance Sturt beat them at Shot at the Top, but Crime Wave don't seem done yet.

~ Lucien Wilder, August 2010.

Card for APW's Championship Carnival

Every title MUST be defended on this night!

Killdozer vs. Harry Simonson (APW Commonwealth championship) - Simonson, leader of The Alliance, gets his chance to take down the behemoth. Dozer will be keen to show the returning Swoop McCarthy that he is not going to lose the title this easily.

Swoop McCarthy vs. Lanny Williams - Swoop is keen to show the world that he's back and better than ever - and who better to show this against but old foe Lanny Williams.

Boo Smithson vs. Stan Standish - Both men have had their fair share of ups and downs - who will come out of this with the W?

Rick Stantz vs. Big Daddy Horne (APW Australian championship) - Big Daddy Horne is said to be fed up with the "pretty boys" getting the limelight, and wants some of the adoration for his own sexual self. Good god.

The Melbourne Blondes vs. The East Coast Rebels vs. The Masters (APW tag team championship) - A scramble match - the team with the most pinfalls or submissions at the end will win the titles!

Killdozer vs. Harry Simonson (APW Commonwealth championship)

Building for 'Dozer vs. Swoop

Swoop McCarthy vs. Lanny Williams

Same as above

Boo Smithson vs. Stan Standish

I'm a fan of Standish, but Smithson has more going on, and will probably go over here.

Rick Stantz vs. Big Daddy Horne (APW Australian championship)

First defense, plus Horne should never be allowed to hold a title belt.

The Melbourne Blondes vs. The East Coast Rebels vs. The Masters (APW tag team championship scramble match).

With Stantz doing double duty, now seems like a perfect time for an upset win for the Rebles to come into their own.
