WCW: The Era Of Trump

Recommended Posts

This dynasty will start from Thursday Week 2 November 2001.

The Era of Trump

In 2000 on January the 5, a major thing happened, not only in wrestling, but also in the American entertainment media. Donald Trump who in the 90’s had been in financial trouble got back on his feet again and in a move, considered bold by many, he bought Time Warner right under the nose of AOL. The wrestling company WCW, owned by the Time Warner, was included in the deal and therefore the new owner of WCW was Donald Trump. Donald Trump was not interested in wrestling at the time, but let WCW continue, but during 2000 WCW went bad and money was pouring out of the company. Many thought that Donald Trump and Time Warner would put WCW up for sale, but in late 2000 early 2001 shocking news made the headlines, Donald Trump went to take interest in WCW and invested many millions into the company and took personal interest in who was running the wrestling company. Trump went on to fire Vince Russo a man who had been called the cancer of WCW by many. With Russo out of the picture Trump decided to put together a whole new booking that got knowledge of the wrestling world. The main booking team went on to consist of Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair and Eric Bischoff with Donald Trump putting himself as the head of the booking committee having the last say, shooting down many crazy ideas from Dusty Rhodes. Later on Paul Heyman joined the booking team when ECW was bought by WCW in early May. Despite of having no booking knowledge 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels became a part of the team as part of the deal with WCW to be their authority figure in late July.

Tv Problems and PPV Periode

One off the major problems during the start of Trumps reign was the ratings of both Nitro and Thunder. Due to a massive drop of ratings Trump decided to take WCW of air from the start of February, both Nitro and Thunder, to sort of start over by, and started holding heavily advertised monthly PPV’s so people would not forget about WCW. By September 2001 WCW returned to TV on HBO with Thunder on Wednesday so it would not go head to head with WWF RAW and Smackdown.

WCW World Heavyweight Title

Scott Steiner had won the WCW World Heavyweight in November 2000, but Donald Trump and Ric Flair agreed on building Goldberg up to be the face off the company once again, and therefore Goldberg beat Steiner for the title on the very first Nitro of 2001. Goldberg went on to defend his title at almost every of WCW’s PPV during the PPV period and still holds the title. He is currently feuding with Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash, but has the support of Scott Steiner and DDP to fight off the evil of the NWO.

WCW Cruiserweight Title

Donald Trump also decided to keep the Cruiserweight division despite rumors who had been saying otherwise. It might have been the fact that a lot of smaller guys did well in WWF, especially Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit and Eddy Guerrero who all at one point had been in WCW and never had been pushed. Young Rey Mysterio Jr. ended up getting a kind of a push and won the cruiserweight title in a six way match on the last Nitro including Dragon Kid, Jack Evans, Juventud Guerrera, Billy Kidman and the champion Chavo Guerrero, the 6 time he would win the title. But the push first officially started when he beat Curt Henning twice clean during a small feud where Shawn Michaels would fire Curt Henning if he lost to Mysterio. After those matches Mysterio got more popular with the fans and Trump decided it was time for him to move out of the cruiserweight division. Mysterio lost the title to Shane Helms in a four way match on Thunder in October, in a match including Elix Skipper and Chavo Guerrero where Helms pinned Chavo. Shane Helms and Rey Mysterio are currently feuding over the title, but Mysterio is expected to move on soon.

WCW World Tag Team Titles

The WCW World Tag Team champions DDP and Kevin Nash started feuding with Chuck Palumbo and Sean O’Haire, and Palumbo and O´Haire went on to win the title in February at SuperBrawl. Palumbo and O´Haire are as of November still Tag Team champions.

WCW United States Heavyweight Title

The WCW United States Heavyweight was held by General Reaction when Donald Trump stepped intro the role of boss. Reaction had a lot of random defenses during early 2001 and first got a feud with newly signed Curt Henning and Lance Storm in March. In May at Slamboree Curt Henning defected General Reaction and held the title until Trump and the booking committee decided it was time to retire the belt as it reputation couldn’t be saved. In September at Fall Brawl Curt Henning drew Mitshuharu Misawa and General Reaction due to time limit. After the match Shawn Michaels came out and announced that due to the new WCW Unified Television title, the United States title was to no use and therefore he would retire it. This event set up for the future mini feud between Shawn Michaels and Curt Henning that ended with Henning being fired (In reality his contract was running out and WCW and Henning could not reach an agreement).

WCW Unified Television Title

In September WCW announced that it would hold a one day tournament on the first new Thunder for the new WCW Unified Television championship. WCW had bought ECW in May, and too many fans disappointment they had not done any form of an invasion, instead the ECW guys turned up and stated that they would stick together to fight WCW and founded The Extreme Alliance. A face stable with Paul Heyman, RVD, Tommy Dreamer, The Sandman, Mikey Whipwreck, Danny Doring and Roadkill as members. RVD would later turn heel, when Shawn Michaels confiscated his ECW World Heavyweight title, and feud with the winner of the tournament John Cena.

John Cena had an absolute amazing year in WCW. He went from being Terry Funk’s student in early 2001 to win his first title in September. John Cena is clearly the future of WCW.

Despite turning WCW around and make profit once again, the new direction under Donald Trump got lot of criticism for their way of booking. Despite turning the creative way around, and not having many title chances the Trump booking team got criticism of booking the same guys over and over, not using younger guys like Kaz Hayashi for months (the fact was that Kaz only got booked for 3 main shows from January to November). One thing the critics also noted was that Sting and Ric Flair main evened the first 3 PPV Sin, SuperBrawl and Greed with Goldberg vs. Scott Steiner for the WCW World Heavyweight title in the co-main event at Sin and SuperBrawl. On the other hand one thing the new booking team has been praised for is the raise of two young men Rey Mysterio Jr. and John Cena. John Cena debuted on the first Nitro of 2001 as Terry Funk’s protégé losing a tag team match against Chuck Palumbo and Sean O’Haire. John Cena then went on a winning streak with Terry Funk at his side before Funk retiring (once again) passing the touch onto Cena. Cena then went on to form an onscreen relationship with Stacy Kiebler, being managed by her. His biggest accomplishment yet is winning the WCW Unified World Television title in a match against the Rey Mysterio Jr. Rey Mysterio Jr. on the other hand has been in WCW for many years without accomplishing much, but has been getting a push as of recently defeating guys like Jeff Jarrett and Curt Henning.

Many fans have been wondering what the management of WCW has in mind after Warrior made his return in October at Hallowen Havoc to cost Hulk Hogan the title in his match against Goldberg. Many have said that Trump is starting to lose it as he first signed Hulk Hogan to make his return to WCW after his conflict with Vince Russo. Hogans contract is said to be a stunning 400.000$ a month, giving Hogan 4.800.000$ millions a year. Warrior is said to make no way near the other wrestlers in the main event, but many still doubts the judgment of Trump after the signing of what many calls a washed up wrestler .

There are reports of WCW negotiating with young Mexican wrestler Mistico. WCW is reportedly looking for a young high flying wrestler to take Rey Mysterio Jr’s. place in the cruiserweight division.

Count me in! I love everything WCW, so much that that logo of yours makes me cringe a little :( And retiring the US title? Blasphemous! :D

Aside from that though, I'm interested, and love the idea of the New Blood being the new incarnation of the Horsemen.

And WCW buying ECW is funny. Heyman would probably die before working for Bischoff in r/l, so I'm curious to see what you do with it.

World Championship Wrestling presents Thunder

Wednesday Week 3 November 2001

Held At Dahlberg Arena in Missoula, Montana (7.500)

Overall Rating: B-

TV Rating: 5,72

Thunder kicks off with Hollywood Hulk Hogan making his way down to the ring with a mix of boo and cheers from the crowd.

Mike Tenay

Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to Wednesday night Thunder, I am Mike Tenay here with my broadcast partners Dusty Rhodes and Joey Styles.

Joey Styles

What a show we have here tonight this man, Hulk Hogan, will tonight go up against Diamond Dallas Page in a Cage match.

Dusty Rhodes

It’s going to be like a brawl in a supermarket.

Mike Tenay

Wait what???

Hogan makes his way into the ring and gets a microphone.

Hulk Hogan

So, once again The Hulkster is back in Missoula, Montana Brother???

Crowd cheers as there hometown is mentioned.

Hulk Hogan

This ****hole haven’t changed much over the years.

The cheers turn to boo as Hogan insults the town.

Hulk Hogan

I am not here to talk about you phone Canadian parodies, I am here to talk about the Warrior, Goldberg situation. I do not know what your problem with me is Warrior but what I know is that you cost me my World heavyweight title and I won’t let that go unpunished so why don’t you get your ass to the ring so I can squash you like a maggot.

Hogan looks as the entrance way and wait for Warrior to come out, but instead the theme music of the WCW commissioner Shawn Michaels hit and HBK makes his way on the stage.

Shawn Michaels

Hold on right there… Brother, I think you have enough things on your mind. Right now you need to focus on your match with DDP. In fact I saved your ass as Warrior was about to run up and kick your ass like at Halloween Havoc.

Crowd cheer to mock Hogan and Hogan looks around angry.

Hulk Hogan

No one decides what I do, ok kid?

Shawn Michaels

I think you need to relax and look at the options, either I let Warrior kick your ass and you will have to forfeit the match against DDP or you forget your beef with Warrior and get ready for your match later.

Hulk Hogan

I….

Just as Hogan was about to say something HBK’s music cut him of, and Shawn Michaels stands smiling and pointing at Hogan saying something that can’t be heard because of the music.

(B+)

Lance Strom vs. Ken Shamrock.

After a technical display with many submissions locked in and escaped, Lance Strom locks the Canadian Maple Leaf in and drags Shamrock away from the ropes as his was just about to reach him. Shamrock had no other option than to tap.

(C+)

Ric Flair is standing backstage with Chuck Palumbo, Sean O´Haire, Mark Jindrak and James Mitchell

Ric Flair

Okay guys, this is the time to make me proud, it should be easy to defeat some drunk washed up backyard wrestlers.

Chuck Palumbo

You sure this is a good idea; I mean you do not have any of us to watch your back while we are in the ring. What if KroniK or Sting decides to attack you?

Ric Flair

You don’t need to worry, I got It all figured out.

Flair shows the guys a pistol holster and smiles.

All the guys at the same time

Wooah Ric.

Sean O´Haire

Put that away.

Mark Jindrak

Don’t you think your going to far Ric?

Ric Flair

Sting attacks me all the time, I need to goddamn protect myself, now go get ready for your match and get the job done.

The guys leave while discussing the gun. Mitchell who has been standing in the corner walks up to Ric and they have an intense stare down before Mitchell turn around to follow the others.

(C+)

Mike Tenay

Who is this mysterious Señor Increíble?, him and Mysterio makes a fantastic masked duo

Joey Styles Well Shane Douglas is certain that it is Mike Awesome. For the new fans... Shane Douglas won a loser leaves WCW match some months ago agianst Awesome and as soon as he left this new wrestler made his début.

Dusty Rhodes

I think it is the same guy who was The Midnight Rider

Mike Tenay

But wasn’t it you?

Dusty Rhodes

Not as far as I know….

Mike Tenay

ohh Jesus…

The Four Horsemen vs. The Extreme Alliance.

Nothing happens.

Ric Flair

Don’t be a sissy Sting join the party, or do you only fight people when you have the avenged

The Four Horsemen stands for a couple of seconds discussing what to do when the lights turn off and the arena goes black.

The big screen starts showing many weird pictures but ends up with a close-up of Sting with all white pupils.

Sting

Judgment Day have arrived… soon all sinners will have to pay for there sins and I shall be the hangman.

The light returns and Palumbo, Jindrak and O´Haire discover Ric Flair knocked out in the middle of the ring bleeding all over the place.

He then picked up a microphone and looked down on the bloody and battered Cena

Rob Van Dam

This Sunday… Just 4 days and that title will be mine.

The camera goes backstage where Ricky Steamboat and some other agents have found Scott Steiner laying unconscious clearly after an attack, but no one knows who did it.

(B+)

Hollywood Hulk Hogan vs. Diamond Dallas Page in a Cage match

The starts out with the two guys testing their strength with Hogan winning. DDP was the underdog in this match and Hogan clearly was in control for most of Match. But when Hogan tried to escape from the cage by climbing out DDP caught him while Hogan was about to cross to the other side of the cage and threw him down in the ring again. From then DDP was in control in the ring and laid Hogan out with two Diamond Cutters. When DDP tried to climb out of the cage but Kevin Nash ran down and tased DDP with a taser through the cage. He then cut the lock on the door open with a bolt cutter and helped Hogan out of the cage to win the match. (B-)

Winner: Hollywood Hulk Hogan

(B-)

Mike Tenay

Would you look at that... Once again Hogan cheats to win a match, I feel sorry for DDP

Dusty Rhodes

Who do you guys think Señor Increíble is?

Mike Tenay

Would you follow the action in the goddamn ring instead!!!

Hogan and Nash returns to the ring and pick up DDP. They then start tazing him until it starts smoking from the tazer.

Joey Styles

OOOHHH MY GOOOOD!!!!

Dusty Rhodes

Smells like chicken.

Mike Tenay

Would some one please stop this and get security and paramedics out here.

Goldberg comes running down to the ring with a steal pipe and Hogan & Nash quickly gets out of the cage as Goldberg goes to check on DDP while Thunder fades to an end.

Being a writer with my own vision of WCW ... this disturbs me on several levels. No US Heavyweight title, John Cena in the WCW, New Blood as Horsemen, Shawn Michaels in WCW (Bp42 was the only one to ever pull that off right), way too many ECW guys in the fed and Warrior on the roster...

But still, the writing is amusing and I'm curious to see how your vision differs from mine.

You have to remember that in-game Donalf Trump is now the owner of WCW, there is no Ted Turner or Eric Bischoff running the company and therefore the company would be different. One have to think that Shawn Michaels actually would have signed with WCW if he was offered the right amount of money as Kevin Nash also was in WCW.

Having New Blood/Natural Born Thrillers as the Horsemen is kind of what TNA wanted to do with Fourtune. Put some young wrestlers together Ric Flair and let his glory spread on them.

No one can agrue that Cena is a great entertainer, and if WCW still was around he could just as well wrestle in WCW insted of WWE.

Just as a lot a ECW wrestler was in WWF when they bought ECW, a lot of ECW wrestlers would be in WCW if they had bought ECW.

It had been reported that 7 wrestlers from WCW have failed a WCW drug test taken after last Nitro, just 3 days before the November to Remember PPV. Held At Dean Smith Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina (20.271)

Overall Rating: B-

PPV Buy-Rate: 3.31

Pre show: Lance Storm & Fit Finlay defeated Mitsuharu Misawa & Ken Shamrock

November to Remember kicks off with an overwhelming pyro show to the official PPV song “Alive” by P.O.D. After a few shots of the crowd of over 20.000 people going crazy the camera switches to a shot of the whole arena as the words “I am the one and only sexy boy” blast over the PA system and Shawn Michaels theme song plays. Michaels gets a big pop as he makes his way down to the ring and quickly climb into it.

Shawn Michaels

Well I be damned, it’s good to be in North Carolina. Tonight we got an action packed show for all of you, and I am not going to lie, this is going to be the show where all the things happen tonight. We got Sting and KroniK vs The Four Horsemen including Ric Flair.

A small Ric Flair chant begins as we are in his home state, but quickly dies out again.

Shawn Michaels

We got the Warrior finally getting his revenge on Nash and Mr. Hogan.

The crowd erupt and a massive boo follows Hogans name

Shawn Michaels

Hey, I know how you fell, finally the Warrior is going to put the nail in the coffin and kill of N.W.O, first with Nash then Hogan, by the way I have banned James Maritato and Tony Marinara from being in Nash corner tonight, so it is only Hogan that Nash will have in his corner.

We also got The Whole F’ing show taking on John Cena in a tables match, this is RVD’s last chance to take the title away from Cena. And last but not certainly not least we have Scott Steiner challenging Goldberg for the WCW World Heavyweight title, but enough chatter, lets… get… this… show STARTED!

Mike Tenay

Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to November to Remember, I am Mike Tenay here with my broadcast partners Dusty Rhodes and Joey Styles, and what a show we have for you tonight.

Joey Styles

Yes, as Shawn Michaels just said we have a blockbuster of a main event tonight when the two friends Scott Steiner & Goldberg take on each other, and Warrior will try to take out Nash so he can get to Hogan.

Mike Tenay

This show I certainly going over in history.

Dusty Rhodes

What is to remember about this November?

Joey Styles

Ahh jeez, just look at the card we got tonight Dusty, which is what is to remember.

Shane Helms vs. Chavo Guerrero Jr.

This was a non-title match, but before the match started Helms made it clear to the referee that he wanted to make it a title match, and therefore the title was included, atypical for a heel to do. A typical cruiserweight match with high-flying and some technical display. Helms won the match after a Nightmare On Helms Street to retain his WCW Cruiserweight title.

Winner: Shane Helms

(D)

Konnan & Señor Increíble are backstage with Konan leading the interview.

Konnan

Listen here hombre, no one messes with my fellow vatos, Douglas you think you’r saving USA from “the Mexican treat” vato there aren’t no treat we are not like going to take over this company or USA, and now you have recruited some Canadian, who has the same sick views as you to help you liberate North American from Mexicans, man you’re sick. I personally don’t know this Señor Increíble, don’t know if he is Mike Awesome, but your attacks on him and his mask is an attack on the traditions of Lucha Libre and Mexico and I won’t stand by and let that happen, Douglas you better prepare for some ass kicking, come on Increíble let’s get to the ring.

Señor Increíble

(D-)

Shane Douglas & Elix Skipper vs Konnan & Señor Increíble

Thoughout the whole match Douglas & Skipper had problems communication, while Konnan & Señor Increíble worked as a tag who had tagged for many years. It was also a mis-communication between Skipper and Douglas that costed them the match, when Douglas hit Skipper with a spear after Increíble moved, Konnan them cleared the ring of Douglas and Increíble pinned Skipper.

Winners: Konnan & Señor Increíble

(C-)

Mike Tenay

Konnan and Increíble looks like a team who have tagged for years this could maybe be a new team in the tag team division.

Joey Styles

I certainly would not mind, next up is Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. Alex Wright.

Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. Alex Wright.

The match went back and forth, but the match ended when Wright took Mysterio up for a powerbomb, and Mysterio instead rolled over him and got a flash pin.

Winner: Rey Mysterio Jr.

(C+)

After the match Mysterio jumps to the turnbuckle to celebrate, standing on the top of it. Wright looks around angry before running to the turnbuckle jumping up and Bridging German suplexes Mysterio from the top of the turnbuckle.

Joey Styles

OOOHHH MY GOOOOD!!!! REY IS DEAD, REY IS DEAD.

Dusty Rhodes

That hit like a car hitting a lemonade stand.

Joey Styles

Get some medics out here and get that German psycho out of here.

Wright looks down on Mysterio before quickly exiting the ring without giving the crowd a look.

Sting & KroniK vs The Four Horsemen (Chuck Palumbo, Sean O’Haire & Ric Flair) w/ Mark Jindrak & James Mitchell.

Before the match Flair came down with a bag which he left a ringside. For most of the match KroniK & Chuck Palumbo & Sean O’Haire fought it out in the ring. But then both Flair and Sting got the hot tag and the crowd erupted in cheers and Flair and Sting went at it, Sting got the upper hand and Flair bumped all over the ring until Mitchell caught Stings leg while the ref was distracted by Jindrak. Flair then climbed the top rope only to get thrown down by Sting who got up again. Flair rolled out of the ring and grapped the bag at ringside, while Sting cleared the ring of Palumbo, O’Haire & Jindrak. The Camera zoomed to Flair and ringside trying to load the gun he introduced last week, but somehow he could not get the gun loaded and he instead rolled into the ring and nailed Sting with the gun handle right in the face busting Sting open, the Ref then called for the bell because of DQ.

Winners: Sting & Kronik due to Disqualification.

(B-)

Flair and the rest of the Horsemen quickly runs to the back where interviewer Tony Schiavone is standing by ready to interview the Horsemen.

Tony Schiavone

Ric, hey Ric what happen?

Ric Flair is seen trashing the backstage area, throwing around with tables, chair actually everything he can get his hands on. Jindrak & Palumbo tries to restrain him while Mitchell is standing perfectly quiet just looking at the scene.

Sean O’Haire

Hey Tony, let me tell you one thing, we did not lose this match. Flair handed Sting the biggest ass kicking of his life an..

Flair interrupts and push O’Haire out away, it looks like Flair managed to bust himself up in his rage and he is bleeding heavily.

Ric Flair

Sting listen, you might won this battle on paper it does not matter, Sting I am coming for you, you cannot hide.

Flair returns to trashing up the backstage area.

A video of the past weeks confrontation of Nash, Warrior & Hogan, the video also includes clips from 1998 and Hogan & Warriors match.

(B+)

Hogan and Nash make their way to the ring. Hogan picks up a microphone.

Hulk Hogan

Warrior listen brother, you can’t beat the N.W.O. You have tried back in 1998 and you did not even make it out of the year before being fired, you are a failure. The only success you have had in your life was that one match, that one match where you did “beat” me. But guess what if McMahon had not told me to, yes Warrior McMahon came to me and presented me with a big bag of money to take the fall I admit it, I took a dive, there was no way you could ever beat me if I had not taken that dive, just look at the match in 1998 there I won..

Hogan is cut short by Warrior music and Warrior runs down to the ring ready to fight.

(B-)

Kevin Nash w/ Hulk Hogan vs. Warrior

Warrior was in control from the start and Nash struggled to gain the upper hand in the match, but after some brawling around the ringside, Warrior missed a big splash at Nash leaning up the guard rail, and Warrior landed in the crowd, but got into the ring before the 10 count. The Match ended with Warrior taking Nash up for a Gorilla press drop near the ropes, Hogan took advantage of this, and grabbed Warriors leg so Nash fell on top of Warrior and got the 3 count while Hogan held onto Warriors leg.

Winner: Kevin Nash

(C )

Joey Styles

Once again Hogan and Nash cheat Warrior out of the victory

Dusty Rhodes

Winning is relative, in another universe Warrior maybe won.

Joey Styles

Would you please just be quite?

Warrior gets up quickly, as Hogan is running to the back, and Warrior follows him. Hogan is seen running out of a door, and as Warrior gets through the door a car is seen driving away. Warrior start sprinting after the car and they are both soon out of sight, meanwhile we seen Hogan quietly crawling out from a bush, in which he has been hiding he never drove away in the car, he sneaks into the building again.

Rob Van Dam vs. John Cena in a Tables Match - WCW Unified Television Championship Match

There was a lot of high spots and bumps in this match. Notable moments were a chair fight between the two men where they threw chairs at each other, a kendo stick sword fight and a Five Star Frog Splash from the top of a ladder to Cena lying on the Announcer Table, RVD thought he had the match won but the referee declared it an unofficial table and therefore the match continued. The ending came after RVD had set up 5 tables on the outside, with 3 at the bottom and 2 on the top, he and Cena when climbed the ladder, but got out of balance and both crashed through the tables, but Cena landed on top of RVD and therefore won the match. After the match a bloody Cena and Stacy Kiebler celebrated in the ring.

Winner: John Cena

(C+)

Joey Styles

OOOHHH MY GOOOOD!!!! What a match, almost bring me back to the good old ECW days.

Mike Tenay

These match came with full force into the match, and what a match it was.

Dusty Rhodes

It is clear to see that Terry Funk was the mentor of this young man, what a display of hardcore wrestling ability.

Mike Tenay

Wait… Rhodes?

Dusty Rhodes

Fruitcake.

Mike Tenay

Too good to be true.

A video package displaying the rivalry and friendship of Scott Steiner and Goldberg plays

(A*)

Mike Tenay

Ladies and Gentleman welcome to the main event of tonight’s show. Goldberg have granted Scott Steiner a shot at his World title because Steiner helpfulness in the battle against the N.W.O. we have DDP with us at the announce table for this match instead of Dusty Rhodes, and thank god for that.

DDP

Thanks Mike, I am glad to be here, and this should be a tremendous match. And let me tell you a little secret I have been promised a match against the winner of the match, so it’s going to be exiting.

Scott Steiner vs. Goldberg – WCW World Heavyweight title

The match was build up around the respect between the two men, and they had a lot of test of strength. The match went back and forth and at one put Goldberg hit the spear only for Steiner to get his arm on the bottom rope. Steiner even hit the Steiner Screwdriver a move that had been banned in WCW since 1996, only for Goldberg to kick out of hit after 2. The ending came when Nash and Hogan interfered in the match causing a no contest.

Winner: Draw – No Constest.

(B)

Joey Styles

Ooh god, can’t we have just one match where Hogan doesn’t interfere? I am tired of him being everywhere.

Mike Tenay

Hogan is obsessed with getting that World title and nothing is going to stand in his way.

DDP

I have to stop this..

DDP quickly throw down the headset only to meet Hogan big right hand knocking him out. Hogan, Nash, Goldberg and Steiner then continue to brawl as the PPV going to an end.

After World Championship Wrestling November to Remember PPV, it have been reported by sources inside WCW, that the promotion is back to it former glory as a global wide promotion, after the first European and Asian broadcasted PPV since January

In the wake of the this success it has also been reported that Donald Trump got together with his booking team to discuss a re-branding of the logo. The reason why Trump held this meeting with the booking team instead of the marketing department, is apparently because Trump feels his booking team have more insight in the business. Our sources say that Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair & Eric Bischoff voted for the re-introducing the old WCW logo, while Paul Heyman and Shawn Michaels reportedly voted to keep the current logo.

World Championship Wrestling earlier today annouced that the march PPV "Greed" will change name to "Spring Break Beatdown". Eric Bischoff said this about the name change "WCW embrace our youth culture, and therefore our new Pay Per View Spring Break Beatdown will take place during Spring Break and be about partying and enjoying life"

Many suspect WCW is trying to target the 15 - 25 year old due to the recent success of youth movies like American Pie.

Eric Bischoff also announced that "Greed" would be moved to august instead of "New Blood Rising"
