Victory Wrestling Association

Neutral Territory

Wrestling has long been an under-appreciated sport on the European continent, not able to compare with the established soccer and rugby leagues amongst others. This was hit even harder in May 2007 when Luis Figo Manico decided to close the doors of his hugely popular Ultimate Combat Ring. European wrestling is rocked, but from the demise of one promotion came the birth of two new ones. Two new ones that are direct competition to the newest and most well-funded of Europe’s young promotions, the Victory Wrestling Association. This could be Europe’s opportunity to compete with the well-established American, British, Japanese, Mexican, Canadian and even Australian markets that it’s lags horribly behind.

Whilst Ultimate European Wrestling and European Wrestling All-Stars were born out of the departure of Manico and his promotion, VWA was set up without the politics and hostility that surrounds the other European companies. Swiss businessman and multi-millionaire, Albert Thorp personally invested one million dollars of his own fortune to get the VWA off the ground. A smart business man, Thorp decided to create his own unique style mixing various popular elements of other companies; this ‘ultimate hybrid’ style also dictated that no tag teams or alliances were made. Ironically, the company based around this style of each star being somewhat neutral and not being tied to an alliance is born out of Europe’s neutral zone, Switzerland!

The melting pot of wrestling concepts that forms the basis of the company is also a melting pot of wrestlers with stars coming from South Africa, Germany, America, Sweden and countless other countries. This international feel and the youthfulness of many of these workers count greatly towards what could be an impressive future for the VWA. Only time will tell whether the youthful exuberance and talent of people like Landon Mallory and Sebastian Koller, coupled with the experience of stars such as Randy Haute and Griffin can forge a legacy within the European and possibly even the world wrestling arena. Can they lead to a reinvention of Europe as a wrestling hotbed or will they ultimately stumble and not get out of the blocks?

I enjoyed your previous attempts at VWA so I'm on board. If nothing else, you introduced me to the "Rock 'N' Roller" <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Koller will be looking to continue his impressive form, but Haute definitely has greater experience in the big-match situations. This will be a title bout that should definitely not be missed; the young hotshot taking on the veteran former champion!<p> </p><p> The big Romanian grappler, Acheron will look to make his way past the young Dutchman, Walker van Cleer in a match that most definitely speaks volumes of who the next title contender may be. VWA Mayhem #1

Saturday, Week 3, January 2010

Bremen Hall, Central Europe

Attendance: 37 people

Mayhem kicked off with the commentary team of American Dick Kerley and Icelandic Charlie Grimsson walking down to the announcers’ booth. This was followed by a short video sequence on the plasma screens making up the set. The video detailed all of the recent happenings within the promotion particularly the rise of Sebastian Koller with his ten-minute defeat of Randy Haute last month.

Rating: E

Griffin vs Gunther Kinski

Two technically minded athletes went one on one here in a match that at times had great sequences of chain wrestling. The pair went hold for hold continually trying to work each other down. Kinski struggled though against the much more experienced Swedish grappler. Despite his youthful exuberance, Kinski was eventually outdone and the Swede took absolute control, locking in a variety of holds aimed at taking his opponent off his feet and to the mat. Wasting no time once he’d taken him down to the canvas, Griffin locked in a Figure Four Leglock and that was all she wrote, with Kinski giving in to the pain exerted on his legs.

Griffin wins at 9:45 via submission

Following the match, we cross straight to the backstage area, where in the arena’s parking lot we see the arrival of the Dutchman, Walker van Cleer. The crowd are excited for his arrival, but this excitement is muted as out of nowhere storms Acheron. The burly Romanian takes van Cleer down from behind, proceeding to slam him onto the bonnet of a car, leaving a body shaped imprint. He then picks up the now prone Dutchman who has had no chance to fight back and drops him once more onto the bonnet, before storming away. Walker appears to be down and out for the count as backstage officials race to his aid.

Wild Child is in the backstage area; oddly his manager Jasmine Perlot is nowhere to be seen. He doesn’t appear to be in the best of spirits as he stomps through what appears to be a loading bay. As he walks, he grabs a metal trash can that is sitting empty and without pausing for even the slightest second, slams it into his forehead. Not once, not twice but three times. By this stage, there is already a small cut on his head and blood has started to trickle down past his eyes. He stares maniacally at the camera, before storming away just as crazily as he’d stormed in.

Rating: E+

Jason Dempsey vs Landon Mallory

The young Springbok, Landon Mallory dominated this encounter from start to finish showing the tenacity of a wrestler way beyond his years. Although the pair didn’t seem to connect and often looked awkward, the dominant display was still very evident as Mallory countered Dempsey’s feeble attempts to attack. Dempsey did shine for a short moment or two though, engaging in a fight back that almost saw Mallory taken to the mat, but the South African overcame it. After avoiding a clothesline attempt and taking his opponent down with a cross body, Landon hit the Springbok Ram to seal a tidy pinfall victory.

Landon Mallory wins at 7:24 via pinfall

The newly crowned VWA European champion, Sebastian Koller emerges next to a heroes welcome from the rowdy crowd and is handed a microphone by the ring announcer. Koller states that ever since he came here at the beginning of the VWA, he intended to make an impact. He says that he was always out for the championship gold and that wasting time wasn’t something he regularly did, as shown by his ten-minute victory last month. He states quite clearly that he intends to retain his championship gold in the re-match tonight and will fight any challenger, because that’s the way a champion should be. The statement is quite clear, he’s the champion, will fight like a champion and he most definitely isn't afraid of Randy Haute tonight.

Cub Balowicz vs Moonsault Master

An interesting mix of the brutal almost MMA-like nature of the Polish brawler and the comedic styling of the equally big, but rather lightweight Dane, Moonsault Master. Surprisingly, the two gelled very well in the ring, with the big Dane’s comedic moments actually blending amongst the hard-hitting action to create an interesting hybrid of comedy and realistic brutality. Cub was clearly riding a wave of momentum though as the big Polish brawler dominated for long periods, pummelling away angrily at the Dane, who to his credit withstood the raw aggression of his opponent very well. The match did seem to lose it’s way a bit in the middle, with the crowd a little uneasy as Moonsault Master continued to be pounded and it was clear as it neared it’s conclusion that both men were tiring. The dominance of Cub Balowicz eventually led to his win as he finally put Moonsault Master out of his misery and seemingly out cold with a Knock Out Left Hook to seal a solid victory.

Cub Balowicz wins at 7:56 via pinfall

Backstage, Jasmine Perlot is sitting in a room alongside her client Wild Child, who has now been bandaged with blood still clearly visible through the white bandage. Jasmine Perlot expresses her concern with her client, stating that he needs to be at the peak of his game for his upcoming match against Matthew Macks. Wild Child isn't concerned, instead sitting there picking at his arms, leaving nasty looking scratches. Perlot continues to insist that he gears his aggression towards his future opponent, but it appears he isn’t really listening.

Acheron vs Walker van Cleer

Two men clearly attempting to put themselves into the title picture, with van Cleer surprising everyone when he walked out to face Acheron after the parking lot beat down early in the show. The Dutchman was showing signs of injury though, with bandages wrapped tightly across his chest. The Romanian brawler merely looks at the bandages as a target as the bout gets underway moving at a pace reflective of Acheron’s lumbering style. Walker struggles with the slower tempo preferring a much pacier match, but due to his injuries he isn’t able to assert control and dictate the pace of the encounter. The crowd show a lot of discontent towards the Romanian brawler as he lumbers around the ring, dropping fists and slamming his opponent several times but never really capitalising on the obvious target of the Dutchman’s bandaged ribs. This is all to the advantage of van Cleer as he mounts a comeback, using his technical knowledge to counter Acheron’s size by working his legs. Having taken the Romanian down with a Russian leg sweep, he ascends the turnbuckles and takes him to the mat with High Elevation Cross Body. This is enough to stun the big man and secure the three count, allowing the young Dutchman to secure an unlikely victory.

Walker van Cleer wins at 8:09 via pinfall

VWA European Title Match

Sebastian Koller vs Randy Haute

Yet another strong match from this pair, with some great brawling and chain wrestling making for a great contest. Koller, obviously still smarting from his quick victory last time out did look to close up shop early, attempting to hit his Hamburg Rock City finisher in the early going but was countered by a swift elbow to the upper back. Both men spent time in control of the match, but as it wore on the younger competitor, Koller seemed to have a lot more in the tank. This allowed the defending champion to gain the upper hand in the latter stages of the encounter. However, it wasn’t going to be easy pickings as Haute launched into a punch and suplex combo followed by a painful-looking high knee that could’ve put the champion out. That attack though was a last gasp attempt to secure the win as immediately following it Koller laid out Haute with a DDT, which he quickly followed up with a swift combination of kicks and his trademark Hamburg Rock City finisher. Koller dropped to the mat to secure the pinfall and successful title defence number one.

Sebastian Koller wins at 15:40 via pinfall

Rating: E+

The match may have ended, but Randy Haute wasn’t having any of it as he is back on his feet and turns around to see Koller celebrating the victory. Haute looks at Koller for a moment, staring right through the champion, who has his back to him. He then races at him, taking him down with a nasty spear to the champion’s back and then proceeds to pummel Sebastian with a series of uppercut blows. He picks him up and tosses him over his head with a painful looking vertical suplex before dropping to the canvas and yelling in the face of the champion. Haute then wipes his hands on his trunks before rolling out of the ring and walking to the back with a sly grin on his face.

In The Spotlight

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/rdarnz/VWA%20Wrestlers/WildChild.jpg

Wild Child

Born: July 1990

From: Germany http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/rdarnz/Flags/de.png

Signature Move: Wild Thing

Wild Child has lived a somewhat dysfunctional life so far - living with drug-addicted parents in the rough streets, he didn’t have the easiest of upbringings. However, through these troublesome years he showed great strength, learning to fend for himself and most of all he became somewhat obsessed with his dream of becoming a wrestling superstar. Challenging other kids his age to brawls in his backyard, he started to hone what would one day become his craft; the hardcore craft that is.

Fighting in makeshift rings, propped up by whatever scrap he could find, and often using this same scrap as weapons, he and a small group of friends emulated what they were seeing from some of the cult promotions so rampant in America - blood, violence and pure determined insanity. However, as his friends started to move on, seeking to get university degrees and good grades - no doubt prompted by their parents, the young Wild Child was left languishing and for a while, he did what his name may suggest and roamed the neighbourhoods as a wild child.

Finally though, his calling was to come - spotted by a young promoter who was coming through the area on tour, he was snapped up - his passion for the industry blatantly clear even if the way he was going about getting into it wasn’t recommended. For almost a year, the promoter took the young German along to all his venues as he hosted independent shows, often giving him tasks like setting up the ring, but all the while the youngster was able to gain valuable experience and eventually debuted on the independent scene as a crazed youngster that many teenagers seemed to relate to.

To this day, Wild Child remains that crazed, almost psychotic youngster willing to inflict pain in innovative new ways, willing to throw his body out there, take the perilous risks only a maniac would. With his persistence and willingness to risk all, he came to the spotlight within VWA with another nutcase, the ‘Irish Daredevil’ Matthew Macks and this feud still hasn’t seen its last broken table, crazy ladder jump or whatever else these two can dream up. However with the young French beauty, Jasmine Perlot now trying to lead him onto a safer path maybe this young man can be turned around and maybe the maniac that resides within him can be put to rest.

VWA Mayhem Preview

Saturday, Week 3, February 2010

Following the impressive victory of Sebastian Koller last month, Randy Haute has activated his re-match clause and will have his chance to get his hands back on the VWA European title belt in the main event. Koller will be looking to continue his impressive form, but Haute definitely has greater experience in the big-match situations. This will be a title bout that should definitely not be missed; the young hotshot taking on the veteran former champion!

The big Romanian grappler, Acheron will look to make his way past the young Dutchman, Walker van Cleer in a match that most definitely speaks volumes of who the next title contender may be. Both men will be seeking to put their name out there as a potential title contender in this match.

The big, hard-hitting Pole, Cub Balowicz has been given a seemingly easy ride this month as he challenges the dancing Dane, Moonsault Master. The Dane for all his comedic moments could definitely prove his value as a wrestler against the Pole. Cub will be looking to land a knockout blow in a match that he likely will view as little more than a stepping stone on the way to much greater things.

Two men both looking to prove their worth will be Landon Mallory and Jason Dempsey, who will face off in a contest billed as one for the future. The young South African has been earmarked as a potential superstar but he has to prove his value in matches like this. Dempsey isn’t going to roll over to him though as he also seeks to prove that he is a star for the future. A clash of nationalities and styles should be expected as these two square off.

Finally, we’ll see the veteran Swede, Griffin face off against the young German grappler, Gunther Kinski in a match expected to be the stand-out for the night in regards to technical and chain wrestling, no doubt some great skill and technique will be on show in what we regard as a rather even contest.

As always, a night of fast-paced, hard-hitting action is expected so don’t miss out on some more mayhem brought to you by the VWA!

VWA Mayhem #2

Saturday, Week 3, February 2010

Bremen Hall, Central Europe

Attendance: 35 people

Sebastian Koller gets the night’s events rolling, walking down to the ring dressed in his street attire, a jazzy silver shirt and jeans. He is carrying with a great grin on his face, the VWA European title which is neatly slung over his shoulder. Upon reaching the ring, he soaks up the crowd’s applause, promising them that he’d fight any comers and that he was their people’s champion. He declared that everything he does is for the people, his people and that they should be proud because the title on his shoulder is their title. Finally, he makes some remarks about the upcoming number one contendership match, re-stating his earlier point that any challenger was welcomed.

Rating: D-

Griffin vs Xavi

Once again, Griffin is placed in a match with a similarly technically-minded opponent, and once again the veteran proves his value schooling the young and brash Spaniard with a series of suplexes and unique arm holds. With the approach remaining on the mat for long periods it quickly became a war of attrition, with the focus being for Xavi on Griffin’s left arm and Griffin on Xavi’s legs. Xavi eventually seemed to have the upper hand, after a prolonged spell of grappling he took Griffin back to the mat and dropped his whole body weight onto the Swede’s elbow. He continued the aggression completely focussed on the joint but is taken back down as Griffin uses his impressive leg strength to push him off and lock in the Figure Four with his legs and only the one arm. Xavi has nowhere to go as his worn-down legs are contorted and has no choice but to tap out.

Griffin wins at 11:15 via submission

Rating: E-

Following the match, Jasper January saunters down to the ring grabbing a microphone and begins talking about his upcoming match tonight. However, having not really been able to say much he is interrupted, as Cub Balowicz appears on-screen in the backstage area, where he punches straight through the glass of a vending machine. January looks on from the ring, somewhat unnerved as the scene continues with Balowicz now entering the locker-room in much the same fashion; though this time he kicks down the door in one swift move. Looking very worried, January feebly climbs beneath the ropes and rolls from the ring, no longer sauntering along as he heads to the back.

Rating: D-

Jason Dempsey vs Landon Mallory

This pairing obviously benefited from facing each other last time out, as in the early exchanges it was counter after counter after counter, the pair seemingly understanding the flow of each other’s work. This wasn’t to last though as Landon Mallory took the upper-hand and from about three minutes in dominated his opponent, downing him with a series of uppercuts followed by a trifecta of different suplexes that really got the crowd going. Following that, all he had to do was set his opponent up to stumble from the corner straight into a Springbok Ram. That was all she wrote as the young Springbok continues to highlight his raw aggression and obvious talent, securing a rather quick pinfall victory.

Landon Mallory wins at 6:34 via pinfall

Rating: E

Matthew Macks vs Wild Child

Mayhem is always expected when these two collide in the ring and this wasn’t any different, as the two went nuts brawling like mad men in the ring, with Macks having an early upper hand but ending up flat out on the mat when he attempted to put the German down with a moonsault. Wild Child took the advantage from that point, performing a series of lucha moves we’re very unused to seeing from him. The end would come though when Wild Child’s attempt at a flying drop-kick hit the referee. Wild Child and the Irishman both took this as an opportunity to pull out the weaponry, tossing chairs, garbage cans and all sorts of other items into the ring and proceeding to use them on each other. As the referee came round, both men had weapons in hand leaving him with no choice but to call for the pair to both be disqualified. Their brawling continued to the back as they left the ring, Macks slapping Child with a kendo stick, whilst the German fought back with a road sign.

Matthew Macks and Wild Child draw at 5:43 via double DQ

Rating: E-

As the brawl continues, Wild Child turns a corner and has seemingly gotten away from his Irish rival. That’s not the half of his problems though as he turns straight into a big boot from Modern Day Warlord. Modern Day Warlord isn’t done with just a big boot though as he proceeds to pick Wild Child back up, lift him onto his shoulder and use the German’s head as a battering ram into the wall, sending plaster flying and leaving Wild Child with blood pouring from a nasty gash in his head. As officials race to get Warlord away, Wild Child is seen to be grinning despite the pain he should obviously be in.

Rating: F+

We continue to follow Modern Day Warlord as he is ushered away, as Matthew Macks comes tearing through the walkway still carrying the kendo stick he earlier used in his match. Macks inadvertently runs straight into Modern Day Warlord who despite the protests of multiple staff picks Macks up and drops him with a back breaker across his knee. He then takes the Irishman and lifts him onto the roof of a parked car before dropping him down with a choke slam which sends him crashing through the sunroof, landing in a crumpled heap between the front and back seats. Warlord simply walks off, laughing in a rather maniacal fashion.

Rating: F+

Gunther Kinski vs Moonsault Master

The dancing Dane started this one out strongly, countering every technical hold with a power move and then a little groove. Excusing the pun, Moonsault Master really got into a good groove and appeared to have the technique-based mat wrestler’s number. However having absorbed a number of varying slams and some strong upper body blows, Gunther started to carve out an opportunity for himself, working on Moonsault Master’s legs, not only preventing him from continuing his dancing but also leaving him vulnerable on the mat. A series of knee holds left him writhing in pain and Gunther saw this as the chance he needed ascending the turnbuckle and coming down with a frog splash, before picking the much bigger Dane back up and delivering an impressive belly-to-belly suplex to seal the pinfall victory.

Gunther Kinski wins at 8:04 via pinfall

Rating: F+

Jasper January vs Cub Balowicz

Jasper January looked rather feeble in the early going here, obviously still showing nervousness following Cub’s earlier brutal display of strength. Cub capitalised on the fear here and was dominant in the early going, landing several stiff blows to the ribs and chest of the Belgian hotshot. However, Cub’s lack of experience showed though as he failed to target the much speedier January’s legs and it was the Belgian’s speed that was to put him on the mat. January, having rolled away from an attempted elbow drop bounces from the ropes landing a lionsault and this attack changes the match, swinging the momentum towards him. Cub stands up well to a barrage of lucha-inspired moves and takes control back after being dominated somewhat, swinging an already flying January around and dropping him face first onto the canvas. Cub sits up with a grin and slowly adjusts his fighting gloves, not noticing Jasper stirring. Jasper swings his legs around and kicks the Polish brawler square in the jaw from the canvas and then quickly rolls him up, scoring an unexpected three count. Balowicz is less than happy sitting up almost immediately looking slightly dazed.

Jasper January wins at 8:17 via pinfall

Rating: E-

The Polish hard man, Cub Balowicz is none too happy about the quick roll-up and resulting victory given to Jasper January and is almost immediately sitting up in the ring arguing with the referee. The referee simply points him to the back as January continues to pose on the turnbuckles celebrating the unlikely victory. Balowicz grabs the young man and pulls him off the turnbuckle backwards, the Belgian cruiserweight landing hard on his back and neck. Cub then looks down at him and spits onto the fallen Jasper January before climbing over the top rope and walking to the back looking pleased with his brutal actions.

VWA European Title Contenders Match

Walker van Cleer vs Randy Haute vs Acheron

Walker van Cleer does the smart thing off the bell and lets Haute and Acheron lock up, meaning he can stand back and observe. This doesn’t last long though as Acheron takes the upper hand and drops Haute to the canvas with an uppercut before doing the same with van Cleer. The burly Romanian brawler does the exact same thing three more times as both Haute and van Cleer slowly get back to their feet. The momentum shifts though following a fifth attempt at the same combination with the downed pairing teaming up to deliver a devastating double clothesline. From here, it’s all power to van Cleer in the middle going, attacking Acheron with vicious intent, whilst the veteran Haute shows his years by sitting back and merely observing. A solid fight back occurs though and it’s not long before Acheron takes control, though he solely focuses on the Dutchman for a little too long and gets his comeuppance in the shape of an axe handle from behind. Haute takes the advantage, pummelling at van Cleer’s ribs before dropping a very hard elbow to the sternum of van Cleer. However, Haute’s attention focused on van Cleer allows Acheron to take him down with a spear tackle and then pick the downed Dutchman van Cleer up only to send him back to the mat with an Acheron Drop and the three count.

Acheron wins at 12:40 via pinfall

Rating: E

As the match ends and Acheron is left alone in the ring to celebrate, the VWA European champion walks out from the backstage area, title belt slung over his shoulder as he looks to scope out the new number one contender. Koller climbs onto the apron and looks across at Acheron, clearly not intimidated by the gruff Romanian brawler. Acheron stares back not flinching, but also somewhat surprisingly not engaging in any sort of physical confrontation. Acheron simply points to Koller’s title, motions around his waist before letting out a ghastly roar as if to show his dominance. Koller steps down from the apron and slowly walks back to the backstage area, not taking his eyes off Acheron who likewise does the same, remaining in the ring as the show ends.

In The Spotlight

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/rdarnz/VWA%20Wrestlers/CubBalowicz.jpg

Cub Balowicz

Born: December 1989

From: Poland http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/rdarnz/Flags/pl.png

Signature Move: Knock Out Left Hook

Cub Balowicz grew up in a very traditional Polish family as the youngest child and as his father’s only son in a family of seven. As such, great expectations were placed on him to not only provide but also to be a man. Fulfilling these goals were never going to be easy and he constantly was challenged to prove his strength and skills at boxing classes his father enrolled him in. It was these early years in the ring, albeit a boxing ring that his trademark killer left hook was honed.

At seventeen, the young man was sent away from his family to serve his national service and whilst serving in the military he continued with his boxing, winning a national military title in the process. This time away from home hardened Cub into the fighter we see in the squared circle nowadays. Upon his return from military service, Balowicz was given three options - to continue with his burgeoning boxing career and join his father as a carpenter, to continue to serve for his country or to pursue an alternate career path being offered by the newly opened VWA.

Cub chose to enter the world of wrestling, attracted by the bright lights and opportunity to break free of the shackles he felt had been placed upon him in his homeland. In his early months, he failed to impress challenged by the notion of hold-for-hold wrestling but still possessing his brutal boxing fists. As time goes by, he continues to improve and impress though transitioning from amateur boxing champion into a future VWA champion. Possessing the raw aggression, anger at the world, unlimited potential and a knock out finisher needed to success in the seedy world of wrestling, only time is holding back this young Pole who will hopefully continue to grow as the company does.

VWA Mayhem Preview

Saturday, Week 3, March 2010

Young Spaniard Xavi will be looking to prove his worth tonight, coming off the back of a defeat at the hands of veteran Swede, Griffin whilst Jasper January will no doubt still be flying high from his win over Polish tough man, Cub Balowicz. Whether ‘Double J’ can carry the momentum into this match or whether Xavi’s loss will spur him on harder will likely be the deciding factor as these two stars for the future tangle.

Meanwhile, Jason Dempsey and Moonsault Master get their chance to open their win accounts for the new year, both having two losses to their names thus far this year. For one of these men, their losing streak will end, for the other their losing streak will continue. Just how many losses can one of these men take before they crack?

‘The Irish Daredevil’ will be looking to take an actual win this week as he challenges Finnish crazy man, Night Spyder in the latter’s first match of the year. As always, Matthew Macks needs to keep his eyes open with the constant threat posed by long-time rival and crazy man, Wild Child. One must definitely question whether this match will get from start to finish without an appearance from the German nut job?

In a match many see as two future champions colliding, Gunther Kinski and Landon Mallory will face off, looking to build some momentum and possibly move up the ranks. Gunther has had a solid start to the year, whilst Landon’s hasn’t been too shabby either and with both men taking wins last time around, these youngsters will no doubt be brimming with confidence.

Walker van Cleer and Randy Haute may have missed out on title matches last time out but both will be looking to bounce back with a win as they face off in singles competition. In a match sure to highlight both men’s chain wrestling talent, we can surely expect some high intensity action. These men will both be looking to put their names back into the title picture and what better way than showing their star qualities tonight?

Sebastian Koller collides with the number one contender, burly Romanian brawler, Acheron in tonight’s main event and championship defence number two for the ‘Rock and Roll’ superstar who will obviously look to keep the gold firmly around his waist. Acheron isn’t to be underestimated though having defeated both Walker van Cleer and former champion, Randy Haute to even get the chance to challenge for the gold. Off course, we know who the fans will be behind but will their wishes come true or will Acheron’s dreams of gold come true?

As always, a night of fast-paced, hard-hitting action is expected so don’t miss out on some more mayhem brought to you by the VWA!

Sebastian Koller vs Acheron

VWA European Title Match

The man IS rock n' roll! Acheron has enough to become really over, but he'd have a job on keeping your main event grades good enough!

Randy Haute vs Walker van Cleer

Randy's certainly the bigger name here, although I do have a soft spot for Van Cleer.

Jason Dempsey vs Moonsault Master

Whilst I have a hard time picking against someone with an afro, win it for England...

Gunther Kinski vs Landon Mallory

Kinski could be a solid midcarder for you, but Mallory has all the qualities that could see him make a quick run towards the top.

Matthew Macks vs Night Spyder

It's the cap, you see...

Jasper January vs Xavi

They are both tiny, but your roster description suggests Xavi needs the most work to rise up the ranks.

VWA Mayhem #3

Saturday, Week 3, March 2010

Bremen Hall, Central Europe

Attendance: 109 people

Gunther Kinski vs Landon Mallory

In the early going, the match is anyone’s game with both young guns fighting tooth-and-nail, laying it all out and in doing so providing some great action. The two exchange a series of chops that gets the crowd rallying before going one for one on suplexes and an impressive spot which ends with the South African hitting a very impressive flying dropkick. With Kinski now vulnerable, Landon takes complete control sending his opponent from turnbuckle to turnbuckle before dropping him with a power slam. He then wraps it up, downing Gunther with a Springbok Ram as the German tried to turn things around. Ultimately, the young German clearly failed as he was nailed and Mallory dropped to the canvas to score a three count.

Landon Mallory wins at 6:31 via pinfall

Cub Balowicz is in the ring, microphone in hand almost immediately following the previous match obviously feeling it is urgent he say his piece. He begins by stating that his loss last time out was unfair, blaming the referee, blaming January for being shady, blaming everyone but the cause of the defeat, himself. He states that if Jasper were a real man, he’d stand up to him, come down here shake his hand and agree to a rematch but he highly doubts that Jasper is going to do that. At this point, January does emerge though erring on the side of caution, he stays in the entrance way, emphatically making his point that he won out fair and square and Cub being the saw loser he is couldn’t take that and brutally assaulted him. So in response to his challenge, it ain’t gonna happen. Jasper January doesn’t fight sore losers! With that he returns to the back, to prepare for his match later in the show whilst Cub stares, clearly fuming at the denial.

Moonsault Master vs Jason Dempsey

The fans weren’t at all impressed at this match, jeering from start to finish obviously feeling these two guys weren’t deserving of competing against each other. Moonsault showed off yet again his slick dancing moves, grooving to a beat and actually delivering a bit of a beat down early on. He couldn’t carry the momentum though and a failed attempt to finish the match with a moonsault ultimately was his demise as Dempsey delivered a smooth looking leg drop and that was all that was written. A three count followed to give Dempsey his first victory of the year.

Jason Dempsey wins at 5:20 via pinfall

Rating: F

Post-match, Jason Dempsey appears to be on a high having broken his losing streak. He continues to celebrate in the ring for a long time, but is rudely interrupted as Modern Day Warlord comes tearing through the crowd, hopping the guard rail and standing face to face in the ring with Dempsey. Dempsey tries to do the smart thing and roll from the ring and run but he is caught near the entrance way and struck with a double axe handle to the head. This is enough to daze him as Modern Day Warlord continues to pummel away before lifting him up and power-bombing him off the walkway onto a pile of equipment. Modern Day Warlord dusts his hands off and walks away a maniacal grin on his face as medics rush to attend to Dempsey.

Matthew Macks vs Night Spyder

This match is a fast-paced, high adrenaline affair with the action going from corner to corner, turnbuckle to turnbuckle and to the outside on more than one occasion. Night Spyder showed his high-flying credentials with a suicide dive that got the crowd going but ultimately did nothing for him, with the Finn failing to hit Macks instead crashing and burning. The Irishman took the initiative dominating on the outside with a hurricanrana into the exposed floor and continuing to take it to his opponent before rolling him back into the ring, climbing the ropes and scoring the pinfall following his Red Lighting finish.

Matthew Macks wins at 7:17 via pinfall

Rating: E-

Modern Day Warlord’s violent rampage continues as he takes out Night Spyder. The Finn is being wheeled to the back on a stretcher following the nasty way he landed at the end of the match, but this doesn’t stop the big Norwegian, who shoves away the medics before tipping the stretcher over. Night Spyder is strapped in and thus defenceless as Modern Day Warlord drops to his knees and pummels away at the Finn, leaving him in a rather bad state coughing and spluttering and bleeding from the nose. Warlord storms away, cracking his knuckles in an angered manner.

Next up, Randy Haute, the former VWA European champion has found a camera and is ready to talk. He says that things may not have been going his way of late, that ever since his shock loss to Koller, Koller’s fluke victory, Koller’s lucky streak; he hadn’t been performing at his best. He intends to turn that around tonight and lays down a challenge to the champion stating that should he win tonight’s match against van Cleer and trusting Koller remains champion, he wants another shot at the gold, one-on-one, him against Koller. Tonight is the night that Randy Haute plans to get things back on track, so Sebastian Koller better watch out because regardless of whether Acheron tears him limb for limb or not, Randy is waiting for him.

Backstage, Wild Child is seated looking as psychotic as always, with his manager Jasmine Perlot sitting a body length or so away. Wild Child looks up and stares directly at her, a menacing look in his eyes and asks what the hell she’s been up to with his rival. Perlot sits calmly looking back and responds telling him nothing. Wild Child punches himself in the forehead before moving in closer, getting right in her face and yelling that he’d heard she’d been seeing Matthew Macks, that the rumours were flying and she’d better come clean. Perlot tries to pull away from her enraged client denying any sort of actions. Wild Child hits himself again, before storming from the room talking to himself, trying to reassure himself she truly hadn’t done anything with Matthew Macks.

Xavi vs Jasper January

With young Belgian ‘Double J’ riding a massive wave of momentum, he got things started here with all guns blazing, with a flurry of fists, chops and a clothesline taking the Spaniard to the mat. Continuing the assault, he followed up with a suplex and then went up top, though he missed his move and found himself dropped groin first onto the top turnbuckle before being superplexed, turning the momentum of the match. Xavi capitalised on the downed opponent, dropping a trio of elbows before working the ribs some more with a gut wrench and continued stretching. Despite this, Xavi was eventually to lose out, falling victim to his own failure to lock in a figure four. Jasper took control, dropping Xavi on a couple of occasions before the opportunity arose to use his Leap Year finisher and seal another win through a pinfall.

Jasper January wins at 6:37 via pinfall

Randy Haute vs Walker van Cleer

In a fantastic display of their technical and chain wrestling skills, Walker and Randy delivered one of the night’s highlights. The early going was all towards the American, dominating with a lot of upper body stretches and holds, hoping to damage the Dutchman’s ability to pick up his opponent. However, with a turn of the tables van Cleer started to get some offence and focused on the legs, hoping to ground his opponent. The contrast of upper and lower body attack certainly created an interesting dynamic and as the match wore on it seemed almost a foregone conclusion that the winner was going to be hugely deserving of the result. That result though was never to come as a time limit was called and the very evenly-matched athletes had the match declared a draw, as disappointing as that was to the fans. Both men did however receive a standing ovation as they finished up and left the ring one by one.

Randy Haute and Walker van Cleer draw at 15:00 due to time limit

Jasper January is now shown in the backstage area, grinning from ear to ear following yet another solid victory. The young Belgian definitely has a spring in his step as he approaches a catering table, laid out with a very lavish spread of tasty food and various sauces in bowls. His focus however is so much on the table and his great spirits that he fails to notice Cub Balowicz approaching from behind him and when he does realise it’s too late, as Cub slugs him with a hefty blow to the head before lifting him onto his shoulder and driving him down through the catering table, snapping the wood in two and sending food and sauce all over the unlucky Belgian cruiserweight. Balowicz wipes some splashes of food off himself, before looking down over January and posing with his arms outstretched in victory. January slowly rolls over, grimacing in pain and disgust at the runny mess that he finds himself amongst.

VWA European Title Match

Sebastian Koller vs Acheron

Acheron is in control of the champion from the bell, grabbing him tightly in a headlock and proceeding to lay a pounding on the champion’s ribs and abdomen. Eventually giving up the hold, Koller is very off-balance and is caught out by a big lariat as the challenger really stakes an early claim for the gold. The punishment continues as the match wears on with Koller not once giving in, kicking out of every pin attempt and seemingly kicking out more aggressively every time. Acheron for all his might and power doesn’t seem to have realised this and is caught a little off-guard for the first time in the encounter when Sebastian springs back to his feet and clotheslines him rather sloppily and hastily to the mat. From here, Sebastian locks in a nasty looking key lock but the bigger Pole powers out and rolls to the outside to regain his composure. This is the momentum shift Koller needed and upon his return to the ring, Acheron is met by a beautiful dropkick and another as he climbs back to his feet. On the back of the fight back, it isn’t long before Koller sets up his Jam Session sequence, consisting of a hard hitting lariat followed by his Rock Drop spine buster and then capping it all off with his Hamburg Rock City finisher. He drops down and covers the giant Romanian to seal his second successful title defence and a hard-fought one at that.

Sebastian Koller wins at 10:04 via pinfall

Sneaky UEW Caught Out

A sneaky plot by UEW to discredit EWA backfired in spectacular fashion. UEW officials had tried to anonymously leak a story that EWA had pro-N*zi sympathies, but the plot was uncovered and it is now UEW themselves who are facing public backlash for their behaviour.

In The Spotlight

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/rdarnz/VWA%20Wrestlers/LandonMallory.jpg

Landon Mallory

Born: February 1988

From: South Africa http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/rdarnz/Flags/za.png

Signature Move: Springbok Ram

Growing up in South Africa to a family of reasonable wealth, Landon’s career could’ve taken a very much different path. In fact, as a young man attending private school, Landon developed into quite the rugby player and likely could’ve represented his nation in the code had he chose not to pursue his own dream. Mallory, despite his success on the rugby pitch had already been drawn in by the bright lights of wrestling and set about pursuing the dream.

Travelling to America in pursuit of his dream, he found himself continually knocked back with his look, his limited skill set and his background in a not so popular sport over there often used against him. This wasn’t to deter the young Springbok though, who turned his back on the States vowing to return one day with a company he’d helped climb to the top. At was about this time, Albert Thorp was setting up shop with VWA, and the rest as they say is history. He was quickly snapped up as a hot prospect for the future.

With his determination and the raw aggression of a young rugby player, Landon offers something slightly different in the ring, mixing up big tackles and slams with a solid technical base and he’s even been known to take to the air on occasion. Many people within the European wrestling scene tip him as the star to lead a European company to the top and who knows, maybe he can bear the weight of a continent on his shoulders and take us there.

You have just made Landon Mallory's character for me. I mean, I already thought he was great, but the former rugby player, big tackler is a nice extension of his default bio. And I nearly had a clean sweep on predictions - if I was going to get one wrong, having Van Cleer get a rub (even a draw) from Haute is one I'll quite happily take :D
