OK bit of an update I've gotten the computer problems taken care of however it looks as thou my ROH save has suffered. Fortunately my back up is from a day or 2 before Crowning a Champion so I'll have to re-run that show and Honor Invades Boston which shouldn't take me to long but will delay me posting Honor Invades Boston. I will also be going back to Crowning a Champion and re-doing any grades that change the second time none of the results or write-ups will change however.

RING OF HONOR NEWSWIRE 4-8-2002

Ring of Honor officials received word from Low Ki over the weekend about his decision on the ROH guidelines. Low Ki has decided on only 3 simple rules that all competitors can follow should they choose to.

1. Shake hands if you respect your opponent.

2. Keep the playing field level : no sneak attacks no interfering in others matches or having others interfere on your behalf.

3. Respect the officials.

Low Ki went on to state that neither he or ROH officials can force the other wrestlers to follow these rules but that this Code of Honor is about showing what kind of person you are. These are the same rules that Low Ki says he lives his art by and that these 3 laws of honor will take effect when he puts his title on the line this weekend against AJ Styles.

Ring of Honor Presents

Honor Invades Boston

April 12th 2002 Framingham Civic League

164 people

“Hello ladies and gentleman this is Dave Prazak here just outside of Boston as Ring of Honor presents Honor Invades Boston. Tonight the ROH title is on the line as AJ Styles challenges Low Ki in our main event. Also tonight Paul London & Brian Kendrick will face The Second City Saints for the ROH tag team titles. Let’s go to the ring and get this night underway with Xavier and James Maritato.”

James Maritato Vs Xavier

One fall match with a 20 minute time limit

Both men had a look of fierce determination as the match got underway. Xavier is still looking for his big break out win and took the fight Maritato in the early going. Maritato managed to keep his cool and countered Xavier’s attempted superkick into a dragon screw that Maritato used to transition into a submission based attack. The match continued in this fashion with Maritato trying to work a ground game while Xavier would manage to break free long enough to pick up the pace for a few moments before Maritato would take things back to the mat. Xavier finally managed to hit the superkick and went to follow up with the 450 splash but Maritato got his knees up just in time. With Xavier stunned and gasping for breath Maritato dropped him with the arrivederci and win the match.

Backstage Bryan Danielson is getting ready for the big four corner survival latter on when from behind Super Dragon cracks him across the back with a chair. Danielson is down on the floor and Super Dragon is jabbing the edge of the chair into the back repeatedly. Super Dragon begins to walk away but turns back and slides the chair under Danielsons head before setting him up for the curb stomp and Dragon puts him face first into the chair. Super Dragon finally deciding that was enough walks away.

Super Dragon Vs Dan Maff

One fall match with a 20 minute time limit

It would seem that the brutal attack on Bryan Danielson did nothing to appease Super Dragon as he dominated Dan Maff. To Maffs credit he showed tremendous fighting sprit popping right up after taking a lariat from Super Dragon and leveling him with one of his own. Fighting spirit wouldn’t be enough though as Super Dragon would not be denied as he finally put Maff away after a pair of axe kicks to the head to cap off the violence party.

Winner Super Dragon by pinfall at 10:27

Special K Vs The S.A.T

One fall match with a 20 minute time limit

Both teams are known for their high flying and that’s exactly what the fans got in this match. Special K seemed to have some issues during the match as all three men at one point or another stumbled or had a lost look to their face. The S.A.T. was on top for most of the match due to Special K’s issues but when they managed to focus they pulled of some truly incredible moves. Despite hitting some incredible moves Special K’s lack of focus got the better of them as Dixie lot his focus in the worst place possible the top rope. The Maximo brothers took full advantage hitting him with the spanish fly and it was only academic after that as the S.A.T. picked up the win.

Winners The S.A.T. by pinfall at 13:47

Ace Steel Vs CW Anderson

One fall match with a 20 minute time limit

Both veterans were looking for some much needed momentum in this contest as Ace has a 1-2 record while CW Anderson took the fall in his debut match. Neither man seemed interested in any technical exchanges as both men traded punches and kicks for a majority of the match. CW eventually grew tired of the exchange and after dodging a big punch from Ace locked in an abdominal stretch. Steel was able to finally toss CW Anderson off and went on to finish him off with the twist of cain.

Winner Ace Steel by pinfall at 14:26

York & Matthews Vs Briscoe Brothers

One fall match with a 20 minute time limit

Jay and Mark where looking confidant coming into this match but York and Matthews seemed to be on a mission in this match. The Briscoes were impressive in their own right but York and Matthews used every dirty trick they knew to keep control of the match. From distracting the referee to use illegal maneuvers to not tagging in, the Briscoes never had a chance to get going. Christian York ended up being the man to finally win the match after hitting mark with the rebel yell after Joey Matthews hit him with a low blow when the referee was tied up with Jay Briscoe.

Tony Mamaluke Vs Samoa Joe

One fall match with a 20 minute time limit

Samoa Joe looked to keep rolling along and was possibly overlooking Mamaluke as he was able to stun the big man with a dropkick to the knee ad locked in the sicilian stretch. Joe managed to quickly power out but Tony Mamaluke managed to keep the match grounded for a few minutes. Once again Joe’s power came into play as he got out of a single leg crab, once Joe regained his vertical base the tide swiftly turned in his favor. Samoa Joe imposed his will on Mamaluke for the rest of the match nearly folding him in half with a sickening powerbomb that got a very close 2 count. Joe didn’t waste any time after that as he quickly set Mamaluke up for the muscle buster before locking in the rear naked choke and getting another victory.

Winner Samoa Joe by submission at 15:07

Kendrick & London Vs Second City Saints

One fall match for the ROH tag team titles with a 45 minute time limit

Paul London and Colt Cabana started things off in a very strange way for a tag team title match. Cabana offered his head to London for a headlock who looked on in bewilderment. Spanky was more than willing to take the offer but Cabana vary easily reversed out of it into a drop toe hold followed by a knife edge chop to the backside. At that point CM Punk had seen enough and tagged himself in while berating his partner for his antics and with that the match got serious. Punk began trying to ground Spanky but he quickly got out of the holds that Punk tried to apply and tagged in Paul London. London had a flurry of offense before the saints managed to cut him off and isolate him from Spanky. Paul was systematically picked apart by the saints for a long period but London held on almost making the tag on a few occasions. At one point it looked like Paul London was finally going to make the tag but CM Punk jumped into the ring and knocked Spanky from the apron. With nobody to tag Paul turned around right into a Colt 45 and CM Punk kept Spanky away long enough for the referee count the 3.

Bryan Danielson Vs Christopher Daniels Vs Homicide Vs Steve Corino

One fall match with a 30 minute time limit

Ring of Honor debuted its first four corner survival here with major title implications. Danielson has a potential title shot coming and as such had the proverbial target on his back as he started the match off with Steve Corino. Danielson showed off his incredible technical ability putting Corino in a series of holds and stretches before Corino managed to claw his way to the ropes and get a break. With his first opportunity Corino quickly tagged out to the fallen angel who quickly grabbed a side headlock but was just as quickly thrown off into the ropes. Danielson attempted to meet his opponent with a hip toss but Daniels blocked it and countered with one of his own. The landing obviously aggravated Danielson’s injured back and he quickly scrambled to tag out finding Homicide willing to get into the match. Homicide still had unfinished business with Daniels from Road to the Title and he peppered the fallen angel with lefts and rights sending Daniels to the floor. Homicide came flying through the ropes with a tope con helio and didn’t waste any time rolling Daniels back into the ring where he locked in an STF which in turn brought Danielson and Corino in to break it up. At this point the match completely broke down with referee Paul Turner losing all control and all four men battling it out in and around the ring for the remainder. All the competitors pulled out all the stops to get the win with near falls coming from all directions and even simultaneously when Corino had hit Daniels with the northern lights bomb and Danielson caught Homicide with a small package. Everyone began hitting their big moves looking for the win as Corino knocked Daniels over the top rope he turned around nearly got his head taken off by a west Brooklyn lariat from Homicide. Homicide never got the chance to go for the cover as Danielson caught him with a tiger suplex for a near fall and as Corino rolled out of the ring Danielson rolled Homicide over and locked in cattle mutilation. Homicide was trapped in the center of the ring but Christopher Daniels made the save with his double jump moonsault right onto Danielson. Daniels pushed Homicide out of the ring, made the cover and Steve Corino wasn’t able to make the save in time as Christopher Daniels picked up a big win.

AJ Styles Vs Low Ki

One fall match for the ROH title with a 60 minute time limit

True to his word Low Ki offered his hand to AJ as the bell rang and AJ showed that he too is a man of honor as he accepted it. Things were slow going in the first few minutes as AJ was very cautious of Low Ki’s kicks and AJ managed to avoid a few before finally catching a leg and tackling Ki down to the mat. AJ attempted to work over Low Ki’s legs in response to his incredible kicking ability to various degrees of success as Low Ki is no slouch on the mat in his own right. After a long period of each man countering the others holds AJ managed to get Low Ki into a beautiful Muta lock that forced Ki to crawl to the ropes for a break. AJ really poured on the offense at this point hitting Low Ki with a back body drop and suplex neck breaker before going out to the apron. AJ came flying in with forarm strike but Low Ki countered with a rolling koppo kick that caught AJ right on the top of the head. With AJ reeling Low Ki was able to tee off with a barrage of kicks to the chest and legs that sent AJ into the corner. Ki sent AJ to the opposite corner and followed him in with the tidal krush Ki went for a german suplex but AJ had the sense to block it and delivered a spectacular Pele kick. From that point on the match was neck and neck as each man came close to winning numerous times. AJ went for the spiral tap but Low Ki managed to move in the nick of time, AJ was trying to shake off the bad landing and got caught with black magic that got Low Ki the closest near fall of the match. Low Ki looked frustrated but quickly grabbed AJ by the head and delivered a vicious series of Kawada kicks to the skull of Styles. AJ had a glassy look in his eyes as Ki picked him up for the Ki Krusher but ran him into the corner with the Krush rush before dropping him to the mat on his head. Three seconds later Low Ki had managed his first successful title defense.

AJ managed to pull himself together after some time and managed to get back to his feet where he was met by Low Ki and his waiting hand. AJ again shook Ki’s hand but quickly left the ring for the locker room with a camera close behind. After a short walk to the locker room AJ sat down and after noticing he had been followed addressed the camera man.

“I’m guessing you want my thoughts on the match with Low Ki huh? What can I say Ki’s as tough as they come. Tonight I gave it everything I had, but Low Ki was the better man. Actually being the better man reminds me of Steve Corino. Steve I’ve already shown you that I’m a better man then you not just in the ring but out of it. You want to say my win over you was a fluke but yet Red and I still beat you and your buddy CW Anderson. I’m tired of this whole thing between us Steve so how about we settle it in 2 weeks at the next show? AJ Styles Steve Corino one on one and I’ll prove to you that last time was no fluke and I am the better man.”

RING OF HONOR NEWS WIRE 4-19-2002

Just signed for Ring of Honors return to the Hammerstein that has now been dubbed The Epic Encounter is a tag team title defense. The Second City Saints will defend their titles against the team they beat to win them at Crowning a Champion York & Matthews. Both teams put in a dominate performance back at Honor Invades Boston and ROH officials have decided to to pair these two teams up again in a clash of the two best teams currently in ROH.

Following his actions in Boston attacking Bryan Danielson ROH officials have taken action against Super Dragon. With Danielson's upcoming title shot officials have decided to leave Super Dragon off of Epic Encounter to insure the integrity of the ROH title match. Super Dragon will have a chance to settle his problems with the American Dragon when ROH comes to Indiana next month as they will face of in a dream partner tag team match.

After falling to the Saints Spanky & Paul London will be in action in New York as they look to get back on the winning track, however they will do it solo as Spanky has signed to take on James Maritato. James is on a tremendous roll and some might say sitting on the edge of title contention. Dose Spanky have what it takes to put an end to Maritato's winning ways and get back to his own?

The four corner survival was a huge hit at the last show and it will return at The Epic Encounter. Paul London has joined the match that also includes Michale Shane, Brian XL, and CW Anderson. London is defiantly the more popular of the four to the NYC crowd but all of these men are coming into the match either off a loss or on a losing streak and will defiantly look to pull themselves out of their slide with a win here.

Look for Ring of Honor to debut the videowire in the coming weeks. The videowire will be like our newswire but will feature interviews with the wrestlers on upcoming matches and from time to time actual matches from the preshow of live ROH events.

Ring of Honor Presents

The Epic Encounter

April 27th Hammerstein Ballroom

1,608 people

Hello fans Dave Prazak here again in New York City as Ring of Honor brings to you The Epic Encounter. As the name suggests we have some big matchups tonight as Bryan Danielson challenges Low Ki for the ROH title. Also tonight AJ Styles and Steve Corino look to settle their issues in a big grudge match as well as the Second City Saints defending the Tag Titles against York & Matthews. We have an action packed night and we will start things off with tag team action Mark and Jay Briscoe will take on the Maximo brothers Jose and Joel.

The Briscoe Brothers Vs The S.A.T.

One fall match with a 15 minute time limit

The Briscoe’s looked confident coming into this match after eliminating the Maximos at Crowning a Champion. Looking to redeem themselves Jose and Joel were on top of their game hitting Jay with the washing machine early on and locking Mark in a Boston crab camel clutch combination. After Isolating Mark from his older brother the S.A.T. proceeded to utilize their high flying offense and double team maneuvers to work him over. When Jose and Joel went for a kicking combination they refer to as Maximo elimination Mark was able to duck and dodge out of the way to tag in Jay. A fired up Jay cleaned house with a big boot that sent Joel to the floor and a reverse STO for Jose. Mark surprised Joel on the floor with a shooting star press while Jay continued to work over Jose with stomps to the back of the head. Jay picked Jose up and hooked him for the jay driller but Jose felt it coming and sent Jay crashing over the top rope with a back body drop. With both Briscoes on the floor Jose brought the crowd to their feet with a corkscrew plancha that took out everyone, the referee began hit 20 count but the bell rang when he was only at 14. After a quick discussion with the timekeeper it was announced that the 15 minute time limit had been reached and the official decision was a draw.

Tony Mamaluke Vs ???????

One fall match with a 15 minute time limit

Tony Mamaluke quickly makes his way to the ring grabbing the microphone at ringside before entering the ring.

“ Alright ladies and gentlemen this is the match I know you have all been waiting for so let’s not wait to find out who has the moxy to accept the Tony Mamaluke open challenge. Let’s go I don’t care who it is I’ll take on anyone.”

After a few moments of silence the music of Special K begins and Brian XL appears from the curtain. He teases going to the ring for a moment before another man appears with a microphone that he hands to XL.

“Ladies and gentlemen I give you the newest Special K member Hydro!”

The match got started with Hydro taking Mamaluke down with a dropkick and followed up with a series of kicks and elbow drops to his downed opponent. Much like the other members of Special K Hydro had trouble focusing on the match seeming to get distracted by the lights around the ring and that allowed Tony to take him down to the mat and begin working him over with submissions. Tony Mamaluke started working over Hydro’s legs and back with a Boston crab before dropping down to a single leg crab, after pulling Hydro up Mamaluke attempted a Russian leg sweep to possibly set up the Sicilian stretch but Hydro fought him off with elbow strikes and caught Tony with an enzugiri. Hydro again lost focus deciding to dance around the ring and gave Mamaluke another chance to revoer and grabs a waist lock. Hydro managed to regain his focus enough to pull off a standing switch and drop Mamaluke with a dragon suplex that managed to secure the win for the debuting Hydro.

Four Corner Survival

Brian XL Vs Michael Shane Vs Paul London Vs CW Anderson

One fall match with a 20 minute time limit

Brian XL and CW Anderson started things off and you could tell right away that CW planned to bully his way through the match as he utilized his size and strength to take control of the match. Brian XL was completely outmatched and looked to tag out as soon as he could finding a very unwilling Michael Shane who wasn’t much of a match for Anderson either. CW worked to keep Shane in the ring punishing him with strikes before moving to a piledriver and vertical suplex and going for the cover. This prompted Paul London to come in and try and make the save but CW saw him coming and caught him with a powerslam before pushing him out to the floor. CW Anderson turned around and caught a kick from Michael Shane, Anderson spun Shane around and planted him with a spine buster. Brian XL jumped into the match at that point as CW would have surly had the match won if he hadn’t but was still out matched by the bigger stronger CW Anderson who made short work of Brian XL before close lining him out of the ring. CW turned his attention back to Michael Shane who was beginning to recover and hit him with a second spine buster but before he could make a cover CW ate a super kick from Paul London. London followed up with a dropsault that knocked CW through the ropes and onto Brian XL while London landed on Shane. After two spinebusters Shane had nothing left to kick out and Paul London picked up his first solo win.

Winner Paul London by pinfall at 13:11

Spanky Vs James Maritato

One fall match with a 20 minute time limit

Spanky was all smiles as he came to the ring stopping every so often to slap hands with the crowd, Maritato was the polar opposite with a grim look of determination that didn’t even acknowledge the crowd. Spanky had the speed advantage and used it in the opening minutes of the match hitting Maritato with a leg lariat ad a springboard cross body that got him a near fall. Maritato had trouble slowing Spanky down until he managed to side step a charge to the corner that sent Spanky shoulder first into the ring post. This opening was all the Sicilian Shooter needed as he targeted the arm with a divorce court that he transitioned into a grounded hammerlock. After a period of Maritato stretching and wrenching the arm Spanky fought his way back to his feet. Spanky gave himself some time to recover after hitting an enzugiri and used it to launch a comeback hitting a tornado DDT that nearly got him the win. Spanky went for a moonsault but Maritato rolled out of the way but before he crashed Spanky was able to continue rotating and land on his feet. James grabbed a waistlock and went for a german suplex but Spanky again landed on his feet but not flush and he stumbled backwards into the corner. With his feet firmly under him Spanky again charged Maritato who again side stepped but not before grabbing Spankys arm and using it to drive him to the mat in the fujiwar armbar. Spanky struggled to try and get to the ropes but with the damage already done to his shoulder he couldn’t hold out and was forced to tap.

ROH Tag Team Title match

York & Matthews Vs Second City Saints

One fall match with a 45 minute time limit

There was no cautious feeling out process in this match as both teams wasted no time going for their big moves early trying to pick up the win. York & Matthews managed to isolate Punk for a few minutes and began to work over his knees but Punk created an opening and tagged in Cabana. Aside from the period that Punk was being worked over the match was very even as the teams showed why they’re the best in ROH. Cabana began to turn the tide in favor of the Saints with a bionic elbow and flying but butt on Matthews. Cabana went for the colt 45 but Christian York made the save with a dropkick but that also brought Punk into the ring to help his partner. Punk started firing off forearms to York that knocked him into the corner and turned his attention to Joey Matthews who was in perfect position for Punk to hit a shining wizard. Cabana made the cover but York made the save and proceeded to send CM Punk to the floor, York & Matthews went for a double closline but Cabana ran through it and caught both men with a springboard moonsault. Cabana rolled York to the outside before final connecting with the colt 45 on Joey Matthews as Punk neutralized York on the floor. With no one to make the save the Saints recorded another successful title defense.

Punk and Cabana retrieve their belts from ringside and celebrate their victory in the ring when two men come from the crowd and jump them from behind. The two men put the boots to Punk and Cabana as some of the crowd begins to recognize the men as CZW’s tag team champions the Backseat Boyz. The Backseats toss punk to the floor before delivering their patented T-gimmick to Cabana as Ace Steel runs down to the ring. Having done their damage The Backseats take their leave through the crowd as Ace checks on his fellow Saints.

The Amazing Red Vs Christopher Daniels

One fall match with a 20 minute time limit

While making his way to the ring Christopher Daniels approached one of the cameramen with a message directed to Low Ki.

“After tonight you’re going to have no choice but to give me a title shot Ki.”

Daniels wanted to work a slow methodical pace but Red made that a challenge ducking out of range of Daniels a time or three and even when the Fallen Angel did get a hand on Red he turned it into one of many armdrags. Red caught Daniels with a spinning heel kick and a head scissors takedown that had the Fallen Angel reeling but in his haste to keep up the pressure Red tried going for the code red too early and Daniels was able to reverse the maneuver into an alabama slam. Now firmly in control of the match Daniels took things to the mat with a variety of submission maneuvers including a camel clutch and crossface targeting the neck in preparation for the last rites. After dissecting Red on the mat Daniels transitioned to some higher impact offense hitting a death valley driver and STO tat both got near falls. Daniels set Red up on the top rope looking for the iconoclasm but Red managed to kick Daniels off, Red came flying with a diving hudicarana that sent Daniels to the floor. Daniels wasn’t safe on the floor as Red followed him out with a suicide dive that had the crowd cheering in appreciation. Red brought the action back into the ring and after a sires of kicks that took Daniels down Red connected with the red star press but it only got a two count. Red went to follow up with what was probably going to be the infrared but Daniels cut him off with a palm strike and brought him down with the iconoclasm. Instead of going for a cover Daniels instead adjusted Red’s position and went to the corner for his double jump moonsault, Christopher Daniels came crashing down on Red and picked up the win.

Grudge Match

Steve Corino Vs AJ Styles

One fall match with a 30 minute time limit

Steve Corino didn’t give AJ much of a chance to get ready as he jumped Styles the second he entered the ring. Corino delivered a barrage of punches to the head of AJ in the corner as referee Paul Turner tried to separate the competitors. Corino continued to punish AJ targeting his neck in obvious retaliation for the stinger suffered back in February at the hands of AJ. Finally Corino let up on the assault after being threatened with a disqualification and AJ had a moment to get his bearings. Corino charged at AJ again but this time Styles was able to get a foot up that stunned Corino and AJ followed up with a discuss lariat. The match went back and forth from then on as Corino continued to punish AJ’s neck with a piledriver and swinging neckbreaker throwing in the occasional cravat or rear chinlock for good measure. AJ used his superior Agility and athleticism to keep Corino on his toes catching him with a dropkick to the face and countering a side headlock with a belly to back suplex. AJ went for the springboard 450 but Corino got his knees up to block it and answered with a super kick to the jaw. Corino sent AJ up for the old school expulsion but AJ countered with a pele kick and came off the ropes with an inverted asai DDT. AJ signaled for the styles clash but when he did a woman ran down to the ring from the back and took the attention of Paul Turner as well as AJ. With the focus away from himself one of the ringside cameramen caught a glimpse of Corino pulling out and wrapping a chain around his right hand which he used to floor AJ when he turned his attention back to the king of old school. Conveniently the mystery woman got down from the apron and Paul Turner turned to see Corino picking up a nearly unconscious Styles and hitting him with the old school expulsion, and pick up the win as the fans voiced their displeasure at the outcome of the match.

Winner Steve Corino by pinfall at 21:08

Rating C-

Corino goes over to grab the ringside microphone as the mystery woman enters the ring, the two stand over AJ who is still lying on the mat feeling the effects of the match.

“AJ can you hear me you dumb hick? How’s your neck feel huh? You see my girl here Simply Luscious didn’t want me coming back after I got that stinger thanks to your incompetence. She wanted me to hang up my boots not worry about getting hurt anymore or the long trips to wrestle in front of these pathetic people. But you see AJ nobody is going to have the ability to say they took out Steve Corino the King of Old School NOBODY! AJ you put my career in jeopardy and tonight I’m going to end yours.”

Corino pulls AJ to the apron by the timekeepers table and picks him up for a northern lights bomb that comes crashing through the table to the thinly padded concrete floor below. Simply Luscious comes over to help her man up and they walk to the back as medical personal check on AJ.

ROH Title Match

Bryan Danielson Vs Low Ki

One fall match with a 60 minute time limit

As usual Low Ki looked to score with his array of kicks but Danielson was quick to avoid them as he looked to take things to the mat. Danielson challenged Ki to a greco roman knuckle lock which Low Ki accepted but once they were locked up Ki began firing stinging shots to the thigh of Danielson who fired back with kicks of his own. Danielson used some fancy maneuvers and turned the knuckle lock a hammerlock that he then used to launch Low Ki over his head with a suplex. With Low Ki on the mat Danielson quickly locked him in a front chancery and a long period of classic catch as catch can wrestling took place. Each man exchanged holds of a wide degree from simple side leg locks and arm scissors to more elaborate Mexican surfboards and STF’s. The fans showed how knowledgeable they were of the brilliant wrestling display they were witnessing cheering their chosen wrestler when he would manage to escape a hold or counter into a hold of his own. In addition to these stretches both men found themselves in several pinning predicaments as they went back and forth jockeying for position. Danielson did a great job of keeping things on the mat coming up with some very innovative ways to keep Low Ki on the ground but once Ki regained his vertical base he was just as determined to keep it. Danielson shot in for a takedown but Ki was able to dodge it and catch Danielson with a kick to the head that rocked the challenger and allowed Low Ki to follow up with a shining wizard for a near fall. Danielson fought back with some european uppercuts before going for a roaring elbow but Ki bounced off the ropes and fired back with a rolling koppo kick to the head. Danielson fell to the mat and began trying to pull himself up in the corner but Low Ki would not relent going for the tidal crush but Danielson moved out of the way and Low Ki hit the turnbuckles. Danielson positioned Ki on the corner and climbed up with him bring Ki down with a super belly to back suplex. Danielson decided he needed one more big move to finish Ki off and went to the top rope to come off with a diving headbutt, but Ki moved out of the way at the last second. Ki grabbed Danielson and began caving is head in with Kawada kicks before lifting him up in the air and dropping down with the ki krusher. Referee Todd Sinclair made the count 1..2..but Danielson got a shoulder up just before 3 as the crowd came to their feet thinking Ki had it won. Low Ki could hardly believe it but refocused and pick Danielson up again for the ki krusher but before dropping him on his head Low Ki charged straight into the turnbuckles of the nearest corner, turned and charged the opposite corner. Low Ki sent Danielson into all four corners with the krush rush before planting Danielson in the center of the ring and this time Danielson stayed down for the count.

Winner Low Ki by pinfall at 36:59

Rating C-

As soon as the bell rang Christopher Daniels came from the back down to ringside where he grabbed the ROH title and entered the ring. Daniels measured Low Ki and nailed him in the face with the belt splitting him open in the process. Daniels raised the championship above his head as he stood over the bloody and battered Low Ki before throwing the title down in Ki’s face and leaving.

Ring of Honor is just days removed from The Epic Encounter and there is plenty to address by ROH officials before our debut in Indiana.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';">

The first issue to present itself in New York was the attack by CZW tag champs Trent Acid & Johnny Kashmere on the ROH tag team champions The Second City Saints after they retained their titles against York & Matthews. The Backseats left a tape at the front door while they were making their exit and after viewing the tape ROH officials have decided to present it's contents in our first videowire later this week.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';">

The next big story from The Epic Encounter is Christopher Daniels attack on Low Ki following an incredible match with Bryan Danielson. Earlier in the night Daniels proclaimed that Low Ki would have no choice but to grant the fallen angel an ROH title shot, officials believed that was to be due to the eventual victory over the Amazing Red. Daniels will indeed get his shot as ROH cameras caught up with a bloody Low Ki afterwords and his words will also be apart of the first videowire.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';">

After falling to Low Ki, Bryan Danielson will now turn his attention to Super Dragon. These men have had issues with each other since Danielson defeated Dragon back at Road to the Title but but they haven't been in the ring with each other since. In Indiana they will call on a dream partner to aid them and we have received word that Super Dragon's partner will be Samoa Joe. Joe is still undefeated in ROH and is growing more and more impatient about getting his title shot which could be bad news for everyone including his partner. Bryan Danielson on the other hand has opted to reach outside of ROH for his partner in the Indy icon Mike Quackenbush who may be just as skilled technically as Danielson is.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';">

Cabana will be taking on Tony Mamaluke who is coming off a pair of losses the most recent of which at the hands of the newest member of Spacial K Hydro. Getting a win over half of the tag champs would definitely give some momentum to Mamaluke and possibly a future title shot but how will he handle the unorthodox tactics of Colt Cabana?</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';">

Despite getting the win Corino continued to punish AJ sending him head first through a table to the concrete floor. What will Corino's mind set be when he gets into the ring with CM Punk and will Punk be able to upset the former ECW and NWA world champion?</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';">

<span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';">Ring of Honor has plenty of news to announce following the first ROH videowire. We have new matches for not just our next show in Indiana but for what will be the biggest show to date Death Before Dishonor.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';">

Low Ki has granted Christopher Daniels his title shot at the ROH title and the date has been set June 28th, New York City, at Death Before Dishonor. Before we get there these two will meet in tag team action in just 9 days in Indiana. Low Ki was quick to name Homicide his partner but The Fallen Angel is refused to comment on who his partner will be aside from that he is a current ROH wrestler who is tired of being overlooked. Daniels is intent on keeping his partner a mystery but will they be enough to take on Low Ki and Homicide?</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';">

As fans saw in the videowire the Backseat Boyz have set their sights on the ROH tag team titles. Having vowed to cause trouble at future shows ROH officials have enlisted the SAT to be in Indiana to challenge the Backseats to a match. A win by the backseats could get them the title shot they seek but a loss could send them packing back to CZW.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';">

After a successful debut Brian XL was heard bragging backstage that Hydro is just the man that Special K needed to rise to the top, and that had he been in Boston the SAT would have gone down in defeat. These comments found their way to Amazing Red who will be looking to prove otherwise as he will challenge Hydro in Indiana.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';">

Just signed over the weekend is the return of the triple threat match. There hasn't been a triple threat match since the main event of our first show Era of Honor Begins, and while this won't be the main event it has the potential to steal the show. Ace Steel and Michael Shane have met once before already but will now have Xavier added to the mix. Xavier has done battle with some of Ring of Honors best but doesn't have the much to show for it in terms of wins. He will look to build some much needed momentum while his opponents could propel themselves up the card with a win of their own.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';">

Also signed over the weekend another tag team contest pitting The Briscoe Brothers against Paul London and Spanky. Back at Road to the Title these teams met with Spanky and London getting the nod and since then the Briscoes are still looking for their first victory. London and Spanky will be teaming together for the first time since falling to the Saints and look to get back in the hunt for the tag titles.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';"> </span></span></p><p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';">

After a few moments Brian XL and Deranged came out to and brought Dixie back to the locker room as the match was finally able to get underway. Both men are adept high flyers and took to the air at every opportunity although Red connected with his moves better then Hydro. Red was riding a wave of momentum until he went for the red star press and Hydro got his knees up. With Red doubled over Hydro caught him with a dragon suplex but unlike last time out it wasn’t enough to keep Red down. Hydro measured Red for a dropkick but it was only a glancing blow, it did managed to send Red head first into the middle turnbuckle and Hydro followed up with a school boy roll up that kept the stunned Red down for 3.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';"><span style="font-size:12px;">

Quackenbush showed that he may very well be as good or even better technical wrestler then his partner Danielson who was on top of his game as usual. The technical duo controlled the early portion of the match with a wide array of takedowns, holds and speed. Not to be outdone themselves Super Dragon and Samoa Joe relied on their power and striking abilities that had devastating results when they managed to hit their faster more agile opponents. Things really turned in the favor of Joe and Super Dragon when Joe caught Danielson coming off the ropes with a powerslam, Joe followed up with a running senton and tagged in Super Dragon. Super Dragon went to work on Danielson with a curb stomp that he transitioned into an STF. Danielson managed to pull his way to the ropes and force a break but it was short lived as Super Dragon continued his assault at the first instant possible. Super Dragon and Joe took turns beating down Danielson as Quackenbush could only look on as his partner was picked apart. Danielson found some day light when he rocked Joe with a forearm to the side of the head, Danielson fired off a series of them before knocking Joe down with a roaring forearm and managed to tag in Quackenbush. At the same time Joe tagged in Super Dragon who missed a lariat and received a dropkick from Quackenbush who managed to hold his own against both Joe and Super Dragon for a time until the numbers caught up on him. Danielson was able to recover somewhat and made a blind tag when Joe sent Quackenbush off the ropes. Danielson made his presence known with a closeline that sent Joe to the floor and he turned his attention to Super Dragon. Super Dragon struck first with a spinning heel kick that knocked Danielson to the mat, Super Dragon went to the top rope and comedown with a double foot stomp to the head of Danielson. Opting not to go for the cover Super Dragon picked Danielson up and delivered the psychodriver, Joe kept Quackenbush busy as the referee made the 3 count. </span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';">

CM Punk managed to get a side headlock and used it to take Corino to the mat, where both men put on a classic display of catch as catch can wrestling that had the crowd applauding in appreciation of the great display they were witness to. Eventually Corino’s experience edge became a factor as he gradually began to impose his will on Punk working over the whole body as opposed to just a single body part. After wearing Punk down Corino began to add in some bodyslams and suplexes opting for the simple but effective approach, Corino tired to shoot Punk off the ropes but got reversed and Punk caught him with a back body drop. CM Punk began a rally hitting a shining wizard and a double underhook backbreaker that got him a 2 count, keeping the pressure on Punk continued to hit some of his signature maneuvers including a devil lock DDT and a split legged moonsault that both got near falls. Punk lifted Corino up on his shoulders but for what reminded a mystery as Corino elbowed his way out and put Punks offensive to a halt with a super kick to the jaw. Corino spiked Punk with a piledriver but only got a 2 count, Corino looked determined to put the match away and picked up Punk for the northern lights bomb but once again Punk got a shoulder up before the 3. Corino wore a look of frustration as he stood up and removed his elbow pad. As Punk got to his feet Corino came off the ropes looking for a lariat but Punk blocked it and countered with a pepsi twist. Homicide holds a singles victory over Maritato from back at Era of Honor Begins and Maritato has himself been a candidate for a title shot before his pairing with Daniels. Daniels and Low Ki started off the match but Daniels quickly tagged in Maritato before any contact was made trying to play mind games with Ki. Maritato showed why he is considered a title contender having Low Ki’s kicks well scouted and even catching one. Maritato used that to transition to a mat based attack focusing on the right arm of Low Ki. Ki showed off some of his own mat skills with counters to Maritato’s holds and after escaping a short arm scissors he tagged in Homicide who went right after Maritato shifting the match from mat wrestling to brawling. Homicide looked to come off the ropes with something but Daniels surprised him with a knee in the back as he hit the ropes giving Maritato an opening and bringing control of the match in their hands. Homicide took a beating as Maritato and Daniels showed good team work but the notorious 187 showed his resiliency and caught Daniels with an ace crusher giving him the chance to tag in Low Ki. When Daniels noticed Low Ki was the legal man he tired to tag out but Ki was quick enough to knock Maritato from the apron. Ki began kicking away at the chest and legs of the fallen angel and added in some knife edge chops that pushed him into the corner. Low Ki sent Daniels into the far corner and followed him I looking for the tidal crush but Daniels charged out and nailed Ki from behind as he was coming in. Daniels quickly tagged in Maritato who put the boots to Ki and tired to lock him in the fujiwar armbar. Low Ki managed to fight it off and caught Maritato with a kick to the head and followed up with black magic that left both men down looking for a tag. Low Ki inches closer to Homicide finally making the tag and Homicide came in fists flying at Maritato but the referee began pulling Homicide off of Maritato telling him he wasn’t the legal man. Christopher Daniels had taken the referee’s attention away just before Homicide got the tag so the referee didn’t see it. While Homicide was arguing with the referee James Maritato pulled Low Ki back to the center of the ring and tagged in Daniels who came in with his double jump moonsault. The referee was still tied up with Homicide until James Maritato came over and began brawling with Homicide to the floor leaving Low Ki alone with Christopher Daniels. Daniels picked up a nearly limp Low Ki and delivered the last rites scoring his long awaited fall over the ROH champion.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family:'Book Antiqua';"><span style="font-size:12px;">
