TCW: Life of the Hawk

Recommended Posts

After being away from GDS for several days and doing a lot of thinking, I have decided to step away on a semi-permanent hiatus from diary writing. I came into this diary with the distinct thought to make it one full year in game time and in real time. But the best laid plans of mice and men, right?

I do have some real life issues that I will not be discussing here that I believe contribute to my lack of ability to keep a diary going. These are issues that I am working on in real life.

With that being said, I am still going to be around some in pm. I will also be making predictions in various diaries the way that I have always done.

The fact of the matter is that I have taken the USPW diary as far as I can go with it. I think that is a main reason why I could not continue with it and had to step away from it. My last actual diary post in it was 8 days ago. For so long, the USPW diary has been my staple. Now, I am moving forward to a new challenge. It's one that I hope people will enjoy reading. That being said, I do have certain things for the reader to expect with this diary:

1. I am not planning on updating this diary as much as I have been in the past. Real life issues that I am working on will prevent that from happening.

2. Constructive criticism is fine and welcomed here. Emphasis on the word 'constructive.'

3. I started working on this TCW game to just be a stand-alone game while I worked out some issues in my life. But I have made the decision to share it here because I like sharing my vision on certain things even if many of my diaries do not last very long and it makes me accountable for my shows, leading me to project them in a more logical stand-point.

I am very excited to bring my vision of TCW to each and every one of you here. I hope you all enjoy the show.

You know I'm down for the ride, Angel. I know how it goes when you have a new project in mind; even if you were planning on taking a break. You try to say 'in the future I may do this'; however, in the end, 'the future' becomes tomorrow. ha. Your mind races as the creative-line takes control; pretty much forcing you back into the game much quicker than you would have first thought.

It's probably best that, as you said, you are giving USPW a final rest. Not saying that, if you started one up again, that I wouldn't read; as you're Mr.USPW in my mind. That said, sometimes it's best to step away from what you are comfortable booking, what you know best, in which to rekindle your love for the writing process. Now, with TCW, you have a whole new cast of characters, potential match-ups, and a company that already has a built-in mega-star still in his prime. In the end, I just hope to see Cornell crush some heads in; Triple H, Mid-2000's style! :D

All in all, I wish you the best of luck finding your stride with this project. Take your time, craft what you want done, move through life's scenarios, and, ultimately, treat this GDS-thing like it should be treated; a great creative outlet which gives you the ability to enjoy the form of entertainment we all love (Pro Wrestling).

I'll be reading along the way.

Cheers.

E-V

That one phone call last night set so many more things in motion. If a contract could be worked out with this one man then it would lead to perhaps some of the greatest storytelling in the history of TCW. At least, I hope so. </span></em></p><p><em><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';"> </span></em></p><p><em><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">

Immediately last night I moved to several of my contacts in other countries. If this was going to happen. If it was going to work out correctly then the right moves would need to be made with the right players. It's like chess. I have to make sure that I have all the right pieces in place before the big move is made.</span></em></p><p><em><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';"> </span></em></p><p><em><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">

This evening though I spent within the locker room of TCW watching the Psycho Circus event on the monitor back there with Tommy, except when Tommy was in the ring, of course. We had a brief conversation about the phone call that I received and I watched the end of the show alone as Rocky Golden successfully defended the TCW World title against Wolf Hawkins. Tommy was in Wolf's corner for this match. </span></em></p><p><em><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';"> </span></em></p><p><em><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">

But Tommy and I both agreed that if the signing is made, it needs to be kept quiet as much as possible. There is no reason for any of the wrestlers to know what is going on until the day of the show. This way there can be no leaks to the dirtsheets about what is exactly going on. I am sure that this won't make them happy but my main concern is SARSA: Story, Action, Reality, Surprise and Anticipation.</span></em></p></div><p></p>

<em>RDJ turns heel by joining the Syndicate and leaving Minnesota out to dry! That is my guess as to the 1st big piece of news. I thought about doing this but didn't do it. Wondering how it would turn out though if it did happen.</em></p>

<p>I had a feeling when you closed the lid on your last USPW diary, that part of it might have been the fact that you're burned out with USPW, Eisenverse needed to get away from his default modus-operandi and that has re-invigorated him as a writer and I'm sure moving into new ground with TCW can do that for you too. I know that if/when I do a new TEW project I'm possibly going to move away from my comfort zone next time round. </p><p> </p><p>

Saying that you did try that with PSW, but that was always a side project and I may be wrong, but I guess you got frustrated with your top talent constantly being poached by bigger companies.</p><p> </p><p>

Thing is this diary writing is infectious, and the likes of you, me, Eisenverse, Phantom Stranger etc all have the same addiction. There will be times we feel like packing it in but fact is we can't just play a TEW game without wanting to write about it <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Anyway I'm just dropping in to say that I am board with your latest project, but won't be doing any predictions for now until I return from my trip to Japan.</p>

<p>I used to be a diary hopper. Someone who wrote one for a page or 2 but then got tired of it and quit. My project before this one was a WCW game that I was having a blast with. Found myself missing the Cornellverse though. With my game almost 2 years in I used the thread "Whats Going On In Your Game" and it has kept me from starting up a new diary in the mean time.</p><p> </p><p>

Was gonna begin my diary at the beginning of 2011 (in game) but didn't like where my stories had gone and such. January until last month was my low point creatively.</p><p> </p><p>

I admire you guys who can keep on going with a single diary and I still hold on to hope that I will be able to stick with 1 one day. Maybe Genadi's mod for 1987 will help me achieve this goal.</p>

OOC NOTES

  • I have finished the entire writeup of the first card. I still have some proofreading left to do on it, though. But this means that you can expect the card sooner rather than later.

  • I have decided that the winner(s) of the first show prediction contest will receive a prize. I am not going to do that every week but I think it will be good to do so on the first show.

  • I am still very excited about what is to come here in this diary, especially with the second show, which will be major in my opinion though I am not giving away any secrets on it.

Just got caught up - great backstory (as always). You don't need me to tell you that I'm on board, my friend. :D

Eddie Peak vs. Bryan Vessey

Eddie Peak is a monster. Nuff said.

Genghis Rahn vs. Koshiro Ino

Genghis Rahn has the best name and the worst skills in TCW. Ino's always a fun guy to push.

TCW World Tag Team Titles Match: The New Wave defend vs. The Tag Team Specialists

Too early methinks. Plus, The Wave have quite a bit of pop on The TTS if I remember rightly.

Sam Keith vs. Benny Benson

Benny's about 18 inches too short to beat a maestro like Samuel Gauge.

The Syndicate vs. Freedom Fighters

DQ perhaps?
