TCW - The Battle to Be The Best

March 2009

Sam Keith gets injured, and drops the International Title to Joey Minnesota as the youngster continues his rise to battle The Syndicate. American Buffalo is recruited into The Syndicate, taking Keith's place, but failing to displace Minnesota as champion, losing by disqualification after losing control and brutally assaulting the young man. Tommy Cornell beats back challenger Ricky Dale Johnson for the TCW Heavyweight Championship, and The New Machines of John Anderson and Rick Law continue their roll with the tag titles, knocking off The Vegas Connection of "Lucky" Chance Fortune and Aaron "Aces" Andrews. "Smooth" Sammy Bach takes the All Action Title from "Teen Dream" Freddy Huggins in a tag team match that also included their respective managers, ending a three month rivalry. Wolf Hawkins returns, but loses to Tyson Baine in a Number 1 Contender's Match, as tension starts to show between Hawkins and Cornell at the thought of Hawkins getting a title shot, and Hawkins having missed so much time.

April 2009

In the battle against the Syndicate, Rocky Golden and Koshiro Ino shock the heel stable when they take the tag titles away. Joey Minnesota once again defeats American Buffalo, this time by interference when Floyd Goldworthy gets involved, trying to get his client back under control. Tommy Cornell defeats Tyson Baine in a title versus career match, sending Baine out of TCW. Baine would turn up in USPW when his no-compete clause expired. Wolf Hawkins causes Genghis Rahn to tap out, preventing the wild brawler from getting a shot at Cornell. Sammy Bach beats Harry Allen, retaining his All-Action Title.

May 2009

Finally settling the score, title belts are put on hold as neither the International nor World titles are defended, as the respective champions finally decide the brutal feud in the Main Event of Total Mayhem XII, as Joey Minnesota scores a shocking pin over the returning Sam Keith to end The Syndicate. Rocky Golden and Koshiro Ino defend their tag team titles against The Canadian Animals team of Edd Stone and Freddy Huggins, despite copious interference by Charlie Thatcher and Laura Huggins, and Sammy Bach turns back the challenge of Troy Tornado for his All-Action title in a huge win for the young up-and-comer.

June 2009

With the Syndicate dissolved, John Anderson and Rick Law end their tag team, as Law challenges the returning Bryan Vessey to test the newcomer. Anderson goes into the singles ranks while Brent Hill is on the shelf, failing to take the International Championship from Joey Minnesota in a triple threat match that also included Texas Pete. Despite no longer having the backing of The Syndicate, Tommy Cornell's title defense goes smoothly as he defeats Ricky Dale Johnson in a Last Man Standing match that earns rave reviews. Koshiro Ino and Rocky Golden defeat the veteran team of Painful Procedure in the pair's last match in TCW to retain their tag team titles. "Smooth" Sammy Bach retains his All-Action Title in a division-wide Ladder Match that also included The Vegas Connection ("Lucky" Chance Fortune & Aaron "Ace" Andrews), The Canadian Animals (Edd Stone & "Teen Dream" Freddy Huggins), Harry Allen, and both members of the New Wave, Guide & Scout.

July 2009

Joshua Taylor makes his return stateside and takes the International Championship from Joey Minnesota, surprising the youngster with his debut to answer an open challenge. Tommy Cornell defeats Bryan Vessey to retain his TCW World Heavyweight title, snapping the veteran's 2 month undefeated streak when Eddie Peak interferes, violently assaulting Vessey following a ref bump, leaving him open to a Guilt Trip. Sammy Bach defeats Flying Jimmy Foxx to retain his All-Action title once again. Koshiro Ino and Rocky Golden retain their tag team titles, defeating The Hellfire Club's American Buffalo and Genghis Rahn.

August 2009

Continuing to beat back The Syndicate and the villainous Tommy Cornell, Rocky Golden pins Tommy Cornell with the Rocky Road and picks up the TCW World Heavyweight title for the first time. Picking up the World Heavyweight title caused him to forfeit the tag team titles with his partner Koshiro Ino, so despite a few title defenses over the month, they were not on the line at Hotter Than Hell. With the tag titles being vacated, Koshiro turned his attention to Rick Law, seeking revenge for Law's heel turn, joining the Syndicate at Ino's expense. However, the All-Action title was on the line this month, and Aaron "Aces" Andrews picked up his 2nd All-Action title reign, defeating "Smooth" Sammy Bach after Bach was distracted by Laura Huggins, continuing the rivalry between Bach and "Teen Dream" Freddy Huggins. Bryan Vessey challenges Wolf Hawkins, but his win is tainted, as Eddie Peak causes the disqualification with another violent attack on Vessey.

September 2009

Following a tournament to determine new Tag Team champions, The New Wave tandem of Guide and Scout add another title to their impressive resume, defeating The Tag Team Specialists in the finals. In his first title defense, Rocky Golden defeated Troy Tornado, causing the smaller athlete to tap out to The Rack. After the match, Sam Keith came out and challenged Golden to a match for his title next month. Aaron "Aces" Andrews defeated Flying Jimmy Foxx to retain the All-Action title, and Joshua Taylor defended the International title, defeating Charlie Thatcher and Eddie Peak, when Bryan Vessey cost Peak the match, continuing the brutal feud between the two men.

October 2009

The hard-hitting feud between Eddie Peak and Bryan Vessey continued, as the two fought to a double disqualification in their first singles encounter in TCW. Rocky Golden defeated Sam Keith to retain his TCW World Heavyweight title, but the veteran wasn't satisfied, and attacked Golden after the match, trapping the larger man in the Proton Lock. Rick Law and Koshiro Ino weren't able to put their battle aside in a triple threat match also featuring Joshua Taylor for the International Title, allowing the champion to retain. The New Wave defeated The Hellfire Club pairing of Genghis Rahn and American Buffalo to retain the tag team titles, gaining a slight advantage by not having to deal with their ally Eddie Peak, who was still recovering from his match earlier in the show. Aaron "Aces" Andrews defeated his Vegas Connection tag team partner "Lucky" Chance Fortune to retain the All-Action title in a fantastic feud, and the two shook hands after the match.

November 2009

The Syndicate not quite destroyed, the alliance between protoge Wolf Hawkins and mentor Tommy Cornell has lead to these two still running amok over the main event scene in TCW. Fighting them, the "Freedom Fighters" pairing of Ricky Dale Johnson and Joey Minnesota, who want to remove any semblance of The Syndicate once and for all in TCW. It was a hellacious match, and in the end, neither Hawkins, nor Minnesota was able to answer a 10-count while RDJ and Cornell battled in the crowd. "The Living Legend" Sam Keith faced Rocky Golden once again, this time in a Triple Threat match also including Troy Tornado. Tornado tapped out to The Rack once again, costing Keith his opportunity again. Joshua Taylor defeated Edd Stone in a phenomenal match, countering Edd's "Party's Over" facebuster into his trademark Butterfly Lock, forcing the young Canadian to tap out. Aaron "Aces" Andrews got out of an All-Action triple threat match by the skin of his teeth, stealing a pinfall from Sammy Bach over Freddy Huggins, as those two continue their All-Action division rivalry that spanned the whole year. The New Wave defeated The Tag Team Specialists once again.

December 2009

On the last Total Wrestling before Psycho Circus, the shocking debut of Benny Benson sent shockwaves through TCW when he defeated Troy Tornado, pinning the rockstar after countering the Starmaker into his Reverse STO, the Shockwave from Next Year. Tornado made Benson pay at Psycho Circus, sending the former SWF wrestler to defeat against Genghis Rahn. Rocky Golden once again retained his TCW World Heavyweight title against Sam Keith, this time in a submission match, causing Keith to pass out in The Rack, though "The Living Legend" refused to tap out. "The Party Starter" Edd Stone defeated Aaron "Aces Andrews to begin his first reign as All-Action champion. The New Wave defeated The Machines, despite the return of Brent Hill, and retained their tag team titles, though it is clear that that feud isn't over. Joshua Taylor defeated Sammy Bach to retain the International title, when Freddy Huggins attacked Bach while his sister Laura distracted the referee. Also, in a pair of singles matches, Tommy Cornell came out victorious over Joey Minnesota with the Guilt Trip, and Ricky Dale Johnson beat Wolf Hawkins with his Southern Justice finisher. As a result of neither team gaining the advantage, the stipulation for their blow-off tag team match at Malice in Wonderland remains undecided.

OOC: This is my 3rd attempt at a diary. One (PSW) lost traction due to me being awful at the game and getting angry about my mistakes, and the other (SWF) died when my game glitched, causing me to lose the data. I'm hoping this one has a bit more longevity. The data is the TEW 2010 default, and my user character is The Grand Avatar with the "sophie" code for max user stats. The user character will not be involved in the story, and for all relevant purposes, I will be treating it as if the head booker situation had never changed. The focus will be on the shows and the in-ring action, as well as TCW trying to dethrone SWF as the top company in the world. There will be prediction contests, with results being tabulated after every 3 Pay-Per-Views. I'm not entirely decided on formatting yet, and would appreciate input as I work on that. Also, shows will go up on Tuesdays as long as Total Wrestling is occuring on Tuesdays. Other shows will go up on the day they would occur in the game as well.

TCW presents Total Wrestling

Preshow Match

Eddie Peak d. Danny Fonzarelli in 17:14 with a Peak of Perfection

Show Open

The show kicks off with a video set to music displaying clips of the various TCW wrestlers performing their most high impact moves, designed to get the fans hyped up.

Tag Team Match

Clark Alexander & Giant Tana vs. The Machines

The match was solid, albeit unspectacular. Alexander was able to exchange technical wrestling showcases with Anderson and Hill early, but the dirty tactics of The Machines eventually caught him off-guard. Alexander struggled to fight back, eventually getting the hot tag to Giant Tana. Tana threw Hill and Anderson around the ring with ease for a while, and when Alexander got back to his feet, he took a tag back in. Alexander went for his Hawaiian Breaker (Codebreaker) finisher, but Brent Hill grabbed the top rope and hung on, blocking the move. The King of the Hill (Press Slam Piledriver) followed shortly thereafter for the win.

The Machines d. Clark Alexander & Giant Tana in 8:02 when Brent Hill pinned Clark Alexander after a King of the Hill

Singles Match

Aaron "Aces" Andrews vs. Rick Law

Aaron Andrews is a fantastic talent, and he will make an impact within five years. Right now, "Aces" is a midcarder who is going against one of the most promising, capable young big men available to me. Rick Law, being only 27, is going to be a star far sooner than Andrews. Early on, it was the power of the sizable Law taking control of the match, and it wasn't until Law's current rival, Koshiro Ino, ran down and tried to distract Law that Andrews was able to get things going. The young athlete turned up the pace of the match and was heading in a very good direction, until he went for his Standing Hot Shot finisher and Law delivered a knee below the belt, carefully making it look like an accident that happened when he came down on top of Andrews. Shortly thereafter, "Aces" was pulled to his feet and whipped into a Long Arm of the Law for the pinfall.

Rick Law d. Aaron "Aces" Andrews in 12:05 when Law pinned Andrews after a Long Arm of the Law after underhanded tactics

Non-Title Submission Match

Rocky Golden vs. "Straight Shooter" Joel Bryant

Sam Keith, the number 1 contender for Rocky Golden's TCW World Heavyweight championship, was at ringside on commentary for this match. Golden's power allowed him to take control early on, but his efforts to display some submission prowess to intimidate Keith fell far short, as his limited repertoire of Bearhugs and his finishing technique, The Rack, weren't all that useful for this submission based match. Fortunately, Joel Bryant wasn't a huge challenge for the powerful champion and did indeed tap out to Golden's torture rack, The Rack, ending this match earlier than some might have expected.

Rocky Golden d. Joel Bryant in 8:55 when Joel Bryant tapped out to The Rack

Singles Match

Bryan Vessey vs. "The Wild Man" Genghis Rahn

I like the storyline behind this match, and the exection was not bad at all. Rahn put up a hell of a fight with no outside interference from his Hellfire Club allies, but Vessey's conditioning was far better than Rahn's, and by the end of the match, it was Bryan Vessey's speed that allowed him to keep attacking as Rahn tried to simply bat him away. The small but talented Vessey finally put the Wild Man away, showing a great display of strength in getting Rahn up to the top rope, then throwing him off with a Super VesseyPlex (Top Rope Exploder Suplex) that left both men lying on the mat for a while, with Vessey crawling into the cover, but getting it.

Bryan Vessey d. Genghis Rahn in 17:12 when he hit Rahn with a Super VesseyPlex

All-Action Singles Match

"Flying" Jimmy Foxx vs. "Technical Excellence" Robert Oxford

Possibly the worst match shown on TCW television in months, Jimmy Foxx wasn't able to get much offense going, despite using his speed to keep Oxford off-guard early in the match. Once Oxford was able to get control of the match, it began to seriously drag, with the fans being very disappointed with Oxford's slow pace in what was billed as an "All-Action" match. Foxx got a bit of momentum going late, getting a rally and hitting a few spotty moves, but his Flying Foxx attempt was countered into a facebuster, leading to Oxford's Top Rope Knee Drop for the finish.

Robert Oxford d. Jimmy Foxx in 11:05 when he hit Foxx with a Top Rope Kneedrop

Tag Team Title Match

The New Wave vs. The Canadian Animals

This was a fantastic match, but the live crowd got sick of seeing a struggling "Opener" like Edd Stone after a while. The pace of this match was intense with Guide exchanging high-flying barbs with both Stone and Huggins, while Scout's technical expertise was occasionally sparred by Edd Stone's heritage coming into play. While neither Stone, nor Huggins could match Scout on the mat, they were able to get a slight advantage against Guide, but that advantage was lost when "Smooth" Sammy Bach came down to ringside leading to Huggins abandoning his tag team partner to chase down his rival. Left alone in the ring in essentially a handicap match, Stone tried to fight back but got hit with the Wave of Mutilation (Whiplash).

The New Wave d. The Canadian Animals in 15:31 to retain the TCW Tag Team Titles when Guide pinned Edd Stone following a Wave of Mutilation after Freddy Huggins abandoned Stone after being distracted by Sammy Bach

Main Event Singles Match

"High Octane" Benny Benson vs. Wolf Hawkins

The match of the night, but not by much. Both men used their speed to their advantage in this match, but Hawkins had the advantage in regards to Technical skills, which allowed him to wrench Benson for much of the match. Benson had a few moments where his speed advantage gave him chances to take control of the match, and he had it for brief spurts, but Hawkins was always able to keep taking control back in the match. Finally, Benson shocked Hawkins when an Irish Whip by Wolf turned into a springboard moonsault for Benson that left both men down. When they both got up, Benson's energy and high-octane style began to be on display, as he bounced from one side of the ring to the other, generally hitting Hawkins as he crossed. With Hawkins down, Benson tried to pick up Hawkins for the Shockwave from Next Year (Swinging Reverse STO) but Hawkins raked the eyes to get free. As the referee admonished Wolf, Hawkins was able to keep the referee's back to Benson, and Troy Tornado appeared from out of nowhere, leaping to catch Benson with the Starmaker (High Velocity Flying Forearm). Hawkins followed with the Full Moon Rising (Lifting Full Nelson Facebuster) and scored the easy pinfall.

Wolf Hawkins d. Benny Benson in 26:25 when Troy Tornado hit Benson with a Starmaker, followed by Hawkins hitting Benson with the Full Moon Rising

Post Match Activity

Tommy Cornell, Wolf Hawkins, Ricky Dale Johnson, Joey Minnesota

An Unquenchable Rivalry, An Unstoppable Brawl

After the match, Tommy Cornell joins his young ally in the ring and raises his hand to a great chorus of boos from the crowd. Cornell grabs a microphone and momentarily begins to speak about how The Syndicate stands tall, but he is promptly cut off by the Freedom Fighters sprinting down the ramp and silding into the ring. Cornell and Hawkins try to cut off the fan favorite tandem with stomps, but the anti-Syndicate allies are able to get to their feet and begin sending their foes backwards on their heels. However, Hawkins drops to his back and takes out the knee of Minnesota, then springing to his feet and driving a series of forearms into the back. Meanwhile, RDJ clotheslines Cornell out of the ring, but follows him out and the two continued to exchange punches and kicks as Minnesota and Hawkins fight in the ring, neither man getting the upper hand as the show goes off the air.

  • Emark: 5/6 83%
  • Apupunchau: 5/6 83%
  • Midnightnick: 4/6 67%

OOC: I made a few obvious mistakes when booking this show, namely assuming people had skills based upon their finishers. Rocky Golden may make people tap out to The Rack, but he's not a Technical wrestler, and Robert Oxford may come off the top rope for his Kneedrop, but he's not suited for the All-Action Division. The prediction contest will continue up until TCW Just Another Day? (the March PPV), at which point the winner will be chosen out of whoever has the highest percentage among those who have predicted at least half of the matches.

TCW Presents Total Wrestling

Episode 2, January 9, 2011

From the Centerpiece Bridge

All-Action Match

"Smooth" Sammy Bach vs. "The Party Starter" Edd Stone

A pair of former All-Action champions square off in this match as both men seek to settle a score. Sammy Bach has had issues with Edd's partner Freddy Huggins for much of 2009 and wants to get his shot to finally settle things. Meanwhile, Edd Stone is quite unhappy with Bach, whose appearance may have cost The Canadian Animals the tag team titles last week when Freddy Huggins abandoned Edd to battle Bach. With some clout in the All-Action division on the line, plus personal pride, which of these young high-fliers will come out on top?

Singles Match

Bryan Vessey vs. American Buffalo w/ Floyd Goldworthy

Last week, Bryan Vessey began his quest towards his shot at "Hell's Hitman" Eddie Peak, knocking off Genghis Rahn. This week, he has his second foe from Peak's Hellfire Club in American Buffalo. The former International Champion and Syndicate member has been struggling to get his momentum together since Sam Keith returned and removed the need for him to be a Syndicate member. Will Buffalo be able to get back on track, or will Vessey move one step closer to his final showdown with the ever-dangerous Eddie Peak?

Tag Team Match

The Vegas Connection vs. High Society

The debut for European tag team High Society, and they face the high-risk, high tempo offense of Aaron "Aces" Andrews and "Lucky" Chance Fortune. Will Andrews and Fortune pick up the win and get heading towards their tag team title shot, or will the newcomers, Roberto Milano and Gianfranco Morelli, stun the young prospects and make a big impact in their debut?

Singles Match

Danny Fonzarelli vs. Troy Tornado

Danny Fonzarelli is a rising star in TCW since shedding his Jay Darkness persona and turning into a fan favorite, but he faces one of the biggest challenges since his identity change tonight in former International champion Troy Tornado. Tornado has had his share of stalled momentum lately after his loss to Benny Benson two weeks ago. Will Benson make his prescence felt after Tornado has cost him two matches in a row, or will Tornado make Danny Fonzarelli a star?

International Title Singles Match

Joshua Taylor © vs. Maurice Jackson

Australian import Maurice Jackson makes his debut and gets a huge title shot in his first TCW match. The young prospect Jackson has had some great showings on the Australian independent scene, and has come across the ocean to make an impact. Will he make his first impact against the International champion?

Tag Team Match

Freedom Fighters vs. The Machines

Two teams with big matches at Malice in Wonderland square off on this episode of Total Wrestling. The Freedom Fighters will face off against The Syndicate in 16 days, while The Machines get their shot at the tag team champions, The New Wave. The winner of this match will get a huge boost of momentum heading into the Pay-Per-View. Will it be the pairing of RDJ and Joey Minnesota, or Brent Hill and John Anderson riding a huge wave of momentum into Malice in Wonderland?

Last Man Standing Match

Koshiro Ino vs. Sam Keith

Last week, Sam Keith chose a Submission match for his Malice in Wonderland opponent, TCW champion Rocky Golden. This week, Golden gets his choice and pits Sam Keith against Japanese sensation Koshiro Ino, who has been nothing but impressive during his run in TCW. But Ino's rivalry with Rick Law continues to stew. Will either Law or Golden show up and make an impact? Will Sam Keith pick up a win of his own heading into Malice in Wonderland?

So for reasons entirely unknown to me at this time, all of my TEW saves disappeared. I'm guessing it has something to do with virus removal and my dad, since the laptop's been behaving a little odd sometimes, but it's a pain. Fortunately, at this early stage, I'm not too set back. I'm just gonna re-run the first 2 shows, both of which were already booked, and handle everything else the same. The above TCWfans.com post may change slightly as things get re-run, but the 2nd show should be up Tuesday without a hitch.

TCW presents Total Wrestling

Episode 2; January 9, 2011

Live from the Centerpiece Bridge Arena

Preshow Match

The New Wave d. The Tag Team Specialists in 10:45 when Guide pinned Robert Oxford with a Wave of Mutilation.

Pre-Show Promo

Clark Alexander, Giant Tana, Genghis Rahn

A Unique Pairing; A Wild Man Unleashed

Before the official beginning of the show, the new tag team pairing from last week, Clark Alexander and Giant Tana, come down to the ring.

Tana: Ladies and gentlemen, as you saw last week, the man in the ring with me right now, "Hawaiian Thundah" Clark Alexander and I have come to a sort of accord. We intend to work together as a team in the future.

Tana passes the microphone over to Alexander to allow him to speak.

Clark: And I'm sure you all know that this guy Tana is a mighty man. And I'm even more sure that some of you know that Samoans and Hawaiians haven't gotten along in the past. It's all over our history. But this is Total Championship Wrestling, and here, I know that having a Giant to watch my back is more important than a...

Alexander is interrupted by the sounds of Project 86's "Doomsday Stomp" playing over the speakers. From behind the curtain, "The Wildman" Genghis Rahn stalks down the ramp. Alexander and Tana brace themselves in the ring to meet the powerful former Hardcore champion. Rahn climbs up to the apron, and shoves away a charging Alexander in order to climb through the ropes. Tana meets him with a forearm to the back, but Rahn just stands up right through it and shoves Tana off. Alexander comes charging in, and Rahn plows him over with the Rahn to the Hills (High Velocity Shoulder Block). Alexander doubles over and rolls out of the ring, but Rahn just ran right through him, bounces off the ropes, and crashes into Tana with a second Rahn to the Hills, flattening the giant and sending him rolling out of the ring as well. With a loud roar in the center of the ring, Rahn displays his power, posing in the ring.

Show Open

The show kicks off with a video set to music displaying clips of the various TCW wrestlers performing their most high impact moves, designed to get the fans hyped up.

Show Opening Promo

Rocky Golden

The Champion Appears; The Poison has Been Picked

"Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor plays over the speakers to kick off the show and the champion steps out onto the stage. The title belt slung over his shoulder and a confident grin on his face, Golden raises a microphone to his lips and speaks.

Rocky: Welcome to Total Wrestling, everyone! Tonight, I get the honor that Sam Keith got last week. He got to put me into a Submission match with Joel Bryant to make sure I'm ready for Malice in Wonderland. Well last week, I lifted Joel Bryant up onto my shoulders and I made "The Straight Shooter" tap out. And at Malice in Wonderland, Sam Keith is going to get lifted up on my shoulders, and I'm gonna put him in The Rack, and he's going to tap out too!

The fans pop for the announcement from the champion, who gives them a moment to cheer before beginning to speak again.

Rocky: But tonight, I get to pick Sam Keith's opponent. I get to pick the match type. I get to get whoever I want, to do whatever he wants to Sam Keith. And at Malice in Wonderland, Sam Keith thinks he can beat me. But I'm going to show him that I will not die. I will not give up. And I will be the last man standing. And Sam, tonight that's going to need to be you. Because tonight, your match, the main event, is a Last Man Standing Match. And for your opponent? I found someone else in Total Championship Wrestling who will not die. Like you, he's won titles around the world. He's my former Tag Team partner. He's "The Kobra," Koshiro Ino! Now everyone out there, are you ready for Total Wrestling?! Because tonight is gonna be...golden.

"Eye of the Tiger" plays over the speakers as Rocky returns backstage to the roar of the fans.

Non-Title All-Action Singles Match

"Smooth" Sammy Bach vs. "The Party Starter" Edd Stone

A fun, high-octane match between two All-Action champions, both men gave a great showing, with Edd holding his own for a while. "Teen Dream" Freddy Huggins made his prescence felt however, coming to the ring near the end of the match while his Canadian Animals partner Edd was down, and getting into a verbal jawing match with Sammy Bach. As Bach and Huggins argued, Edd began to get to his feet. Standing, he approached Bach from behind but suddenly Adrenaline Shot! Without taking his eyes off Freddy Huggins, Bach superkicks Edd Stone's head off and covers The Party Starter.

Sammy Bach d. Edd Stone in 6:33 with an Adrenaline Shot despite a distraction from Freddy Huggins.

Singles Match

Bryan Vessey vs. American Buffalo w/ Floyd Goldworthy

Much like last week, Bryan Vessey attempts to work his way through the members of Eddie Peak's Hellfire Club towards geting his shot at "Hell's Hitman" at Malice in Wonderland. But this week, Bryan Vessey was clearly in control of American Buffalo, dismantling the animalistic larger man. However, Vessey's win wasn't exactly natural, when Eddie Peak burst onto the scene, getting his shots in at Vessey before Malice in Wonderland. Referee Sam Sparrow immediately called for the DQ, awarding the match to Vessey, but Peak's attack didn't stop at the bell, as he hoisted Vessey up into the air and drove him into the mat with his Peak of Perfection (Crucifix Powerbomb).

Bryan Vessey d. American Buffalo in 15:14 by DQ when Eddie Peak attacked Bryan Vessey.

Tag Team Match

The Vegas Connection vs. High Society

A disappointing debut for the European tandemn, though neither of them had ever been heard of in the States before, except to the most well-travelled and in-depth of fans. The lack of fan response brought the match down, but the action was solid, with Chance Fortune dropping Robert Milano with a Stroke of Luck (Inverted Atomic Drop followed by Jumping Double Knees to the Jaw).

The Vegas Connection d. High Society in 4:42 when Chance Fortune pinned Robert Milano after a Stroke of Luck.

Singles Match

Danny Fonzarelli vs. Troy Tornado

The fun-loving Danny Fonzarelli hasn't been on the biggest roll as of late, but then, neither has Troy Tornado. Both men gave their all in this entertaining match, and Fonzarelli got a couple of near-falls on the former International champion, but in the end, Tornado showed why he is always at or around the title picture, as Fonzarelli went for the Retro Rocket (Flapjack), Tornado blocked it with a low knee, making his bounce off the ropes and the resulting Star Maker (High Velocity Forearm) academic.

Troy Tornado d. Danny Fonzarelli in 17:41 by pinfall with a Star Maker.

Post Match Activity

Troy Tornado, Danny Fonzarelli, Benny Benson

Last Week's Vengeance; This Week's Savior

After the match, Tornado isn't done. He pulls Fonzarelli to his feet, then delivers a kick to a knee, giving him time to get out to the apron, spring up to the top rope, and catch a rising Fonzarelli in the face with another flying forearm that he calls the Star Maker. Tornado quickly gets back to his feet and begins to climb out to the apron again, but over the speakers comes "The Resistance" by Anberlin and "High Octane" Benny Benson charges down to the ring. Tornado simply drops off the apron, rather than face his rival, and as Benson slides into the ring under the bottom rope, Tornado walks around the ring and up the ramp.

International Title Singles Match

Joshua Taylor © vs. Maurice Jackson

The debut of the Australian athlete Maurice Jackson was underwhelming because, like High Society earlier in the night, no one in the US had heard of Maurice Jackson and assumed he would be a jobber, which was about right. Jackson got a few moments of offense, but in the end, Taylor's technical excellence was able to bring him the victory, Jackson tapping out to the Butterfly Lock.

Joshua Taylor d. Maurice Jackson in 4:06 by submission with a Butterfly Lock to retain the International Title.

Backstage Segment

Laura Huggins, Sammy Bach

"Smooth" but Shot Down; Fuel for the Rivalry

"Smooth" Sammy Bach is walking backstage, and catches Laura Huggins as she exits a bathroom, a rare moment when she is separated from her brother. Casually leaning against a wall nearby, Sammy tries to get her attention.

Sammy: Laura, listen, hey. This whole thing between me and Freddy, it has nothing to do with you and me. Now maybe we can put it to an end. No more superkicks, no more interference, just put it all behind us. All I'm asking, is you, me, two hours back at my hotel room, what do you say?

Laura slowly slides up to Sammy, a smirk crossing her face momentarily as she slides her hand slowly against the cheek of TCW's resident rock god, but she quickly pulls her hand back and delivers a slap across his cheek that sends Sammy reeling away.

Laura: Sammy, you disgust me, and Freddy is so much better than you, it isn't even worth stating. My brother will destroy you at Malice in Wonderland, and if you ever, ever touch me again, I'll make sure it's sooner.

Laura spits in his face, and walks away, as Sammy slowly tries to get back to his feet after that ridiculous slap.

Tag Team Match

Freedom Fighters vs.The Machines

The Machines are former tag team champions and were initial members of The Syndicate, but in this match, they were barely a match for the main event tandem of The Freedom Fighters. For a while, Joey Minnesota was isolated, and both Anderson and Hill did a solid job of damaging the back of the young rising star, but after he was able to knock Hill with an enziguri and make a tag to Ricky Dale Johnson, the hard-hitting heavyweight cleaned house, tagging Minnesota back in to finish Brent Hill off with the Empire Spiral (Twisting Reverse STO).

Freedom Fighters d. The Machines in 13:48 when Joey Minnesota defeated Brent Hill with an Empire Spiral.

Post Match Activity

Ricky Dale Johnson, Joey Minnesota, Tommy Cornell, Wolf Hawkins

A Violent Attack; A Message Sent

After the match, it doesn't take long for The Syndicate to hit the ring, Tommy Cornell leading the charge and Wolf Hawkins close behind, the two men attacking RDJ and Joey Minnesota within moments of the end of the match. It took no time for Johnson to find himself trapped in Cornell's Guilt Trip sleeper hold, while Hawkins lays a series of fists into the back of Joey Minnesota. As RDJ struggled in Cornell's hold, trying to fight back and escape, Cornell just tightened his grip, until finally, the hard-hitting heavyweight crumpled to the mat, passing out in Cornell's Guilt Trip submission hold.

Last Man standing Match

Koshiro "The Kobra" Ino vs. "The Living Legend" Sam Keith

A solid match, as both men were given plenty of time in control of the match and there were plenty of near falls, as the two exchanged huge, high impact moves. After a good 20 minutes of exchanging blows and counterblows, it was Koshiro Ino planting Sam Keith with his Kobra's Bite (Rolling Inverted DDT), only for Ino to turn around into a huge Long Arm of the Law (Running Lariat) from an interfering Rick Law, leaving both men down. Keith was able to get to his feet at 8, beating the 10 count, leaving him the winner, as Total Wrestling went off the air.

Sam Keith d. Koshiro Ino in 21:15 when Rick Law hit Koshiro Ino with a Long Arm of the Law and Koshiro Ino did not beat the 10-count

TCW Presents Total Wrestling

Episode 3; January 16, 2010

Live from The Friedman Building

4 v 4 Tag Team Match

The New Wave & The Vegas Connection vs. The Machines & High Society

In a tag team showcase match, tag team champions The New Wave team with rising stars The Vegas Connection to face their challengers at Malice in Wonderland, The Machines, and newcomers to TCW, High Society, who will be looking for revenge after getting dropped by The Vegas Connection in their debut last week. Will it be the champions and the risk takers building even more momentum, or will High Society gain a measure of revenge, along with The Machines building momentum of their own heading into Malice in Wonderland?

Tag Team Match

"High Octane" Benny Benson & "Dr. Love" Danny Fonzarelli vs. "The Original Rock Star" Troy Tornado & Texas Pete

Last week, Troy Tornado used Danny Fonzarelli to try to send a message to Benny Benson and, for obvious reasons, both Benson and Fonzarelli took exception to that, with Benson running down to the ring to put an end to the attack. This week, both men seek some revenge as they team up, facing off against "The Original Rockstar" and his large ally, Texas Pete. Will Pete's 2010 debut go off without a hitch, or will it be a chance at vengeance for Benson and Fonzarelli?

Tag Team Match

The Island Alliance (Clark Alexander & Giant Tana) vs. The Tag Team Specialists

The Island Alliance teamed up for the first time two weeks ago, and despite not being able to knock off The Machines, they found that this isn't a bad partnership, and before the show last week, announced that they'd be working together in the future. This week is their first test as an official tag team, and it's a doozy in The Tag Team Specialists. Will the experience of Oxford and Bryant be enough, or will Tana's size and Alexander's technical expertise be enough to take down the Specialists?

Singles Match

Bryan Vessey vs. Floyd Goldworthy

When Bryan Vessey and "Hell's Hitman" Eddie Peak said that Vessey would have to get through each member of The Hellfire Club to get to his match with Peak at Malice in Wonderland, I don't think anyone had this in mind. Floyd Goldworthy, who has never stepped in the ring, has to stand across from a very unhappy Bryan Vessey, as seemingly the last obstacle between Vessey and Peak. Will the fast-talking manager have an ace up his sleeve, or will Vessey destroy the inexperienced Goldworthy?

All-Action Tag Team Match

"Smooth" Sammy Bach & "Flying" Jimmy Foxx vs. The Canadian Animals

The All-Action champion and his occasional ally "Teen Dream" Freddy Huggins team up in this match to face off against their Malice in Wonderland foes in what is sure to be an exciting match. "Flying" Jimmy Foxx has been granted a shot at the All-Action championship, so this is the chance to do some scouting of his opponent for "The Party Starter" Edd Stone, while Huggins and "Smooth" Sammy Bach meet at Malice in Wonderland with another opportunity to settle their long-standing rivalry. Which side will build momentum as they head into Malice in Wonderland in 12 days?

Singles Match

Harry Allen vs. American Buffalo

Making his first appearance in 2010, Harry Allen gets in the ring against the monstrous American Buffalo, who will be coming to the ring solo this week because his manager is in action earlier. Will the unhinged Buffalo be able to knock off Allen, or will it be Harry Allen's plucky guts that propel him past the animalistic monster?

Singles Match

The Freedom Fighters' Representative vs. The Syndicate's Representative

As is to be announced on Total Wrestling, both teams scheduled to meet in the Main Event of Malice in Wonderland are going to pick a representative from the TCW roster who is not already in action to compete in a singles match. Whichever side wins will get to choose the stipulation for the Freedom Fighters vs. Syndicate match at Malice in Wonderland. With these huge stakes, and a small pool of wrestlers available to choose from this week, who will it be that steps into the ring for each side, with such a huge stipulation for this match?

Tag Team Match

Rocky Golden & Koshiro "The Kobra" Ino vs. "The Living Legend" Sam Keith & Rick Law

Rocky Golden & Koshiro Ino are former tag team champions and they will unite again as both men seek retribution for the result of last week's Last Man Standing match main event. On the opposite side of the ring stands "The Living Legend" Sam Keith and TCW's moral representative, Rick Law, who has had his problems with Koshiro Ino as of late. When these forces collide in the ring, will anyone be left standing?

Quick Picks Key

TCW presents Total Wrestling

Show Open

The show kicks off with a video set to music displaying clips of the various TCW wrestlers performing their most high impact moves, designed to get the fans hyped up.

4 v. 4 Tag Team Match

The New Wave & The Vegas Connection vs. The Machines & High Society

A high-energy match between these 2 pairings, these 4 teams, all of which wanting to establish themselves in the tag team ranks. However, High Society continues to struggle here in TCW, as Milano and Morelli weren't able to get a lot of offense going, and after a tag from Brent Hill brought Milano in, Guide soon came off the top rope with a Guided Missle (Missle Dropkick) for the pinfall.

The New Wave & The Vegas Connection d. The Machines & High Society in 7:37 when Guide pinned Roberto Milano with a Guided Missle

In-Ring Promo

The Commissioner Revealed

After returning from commercial, the fans wait for something to happen in the ring, and are confused to hear "She's a Rebel" by Green Day over the speakers. Onto the stage steps a woman unfamiliar to many in the States. She's not particularly attractive, but she's dressed in a sharp business suit and stops on top of the ramp with a microphone in her hand. She speaks with a distinctive UK accent, to the surprise of some fans.

Melanie Florence: Ladies and gentlemen of Total Championship Wrestling, my name is Melanie Florence, and I'm the new commissioner of TCW. It was brought to my attention that certain members of the roster had taken the lack of an authority figure to run amok, and create chaos, and the board of directors will not stand for such actions. As such, I have been brought in to create order.

Promo cont.

"Rough Justice" involved; The Newcomer Challenged; A Huge Match Booked

An interruption occurs over the speakers as "London Calling" by The Clash plays over the speakers and TCW Owner Tommy Cornell steps out behind Melanie, a microphone in his hand as well, and anger strewn across his face.

Tommy: Now Melanie, while I'm glad to see a fellow countryman here, everyone knows that I'm the owner of this company and as I wasn't consulted on this, I don't believe that you were really brought in. Now please, if you would, get off my stage!

Melanie: Now Mr. Cornell, I have the documents making me commissioner back in my office if you'd like to see them, and I'll have you know that the reason you weren't consulted on this is that you were among those the board had trouble with, running down and attacking Ricky Dale Johnson and Joey Minnesota the way you and your little flunkie Wolf have been. And that reminds me, tonight, you and Wolf ought to find yourselves a representative, and Ricky and Joey will as well. Those representatives will face off later tonight, and whichever side wins will be the team that gets to pick the stipulation for your match at Malice in Wonderland. Now have a good day, Thomas.

Melanie turns around and walks past Cornell, who has a stunned look on his face. Cornell soon leaves the stage as well and walks to the back in a hurry, presumably looking for his partner, Wolf Hawkins.

Tag Team Match

Benny Benson & Danny Fonzarelli vs. Troy Tornado & Texas Pete

A back-and-forth match, with both Benson and Fonzarelli trying to get their hands on Troy Tornado and Tornado only coming in when his team had the advantage, and quickly exiting when he felt things were getting loose. However, this would prove costly, as Pete got worn down by both Benson and Fonzarelli, and after Tornado refused a tag to enter the ring, Pete had little choice but to get to his feet and receive a Shockwave from Next Year (Swinging Reverse STO) from Benny Benson.

Benny Benson & Danny Fonzarelli d. Troy Tornado & Texas Pete in 13:42 when Benny Benson pinned Texas Pete after a Shockwave from Next Year

Tag Team Match

The Island Alliance vs. The Tag Team Specialists

Alexander and Tana were much more fluid as a team compared to their first time working together, and despite the experience edge for the Specialists, it was Tana's size that made the biggest difference, able to keep both Bryant and Oxford at bay after getting the hot tag, and then sending it back to Alexander who dropped Oxford with his Hawaiian Breaker DDT.

The Island Alliance d. The Tag Team Specialists in 9:32 when Clark Alexander pinned Robert Oxford with a Hawaiian Breaker

Backstage Segment

Psyching Up the Representative

Backstage, the Freedom Fighters are in their locker room talking, but with them is International champion Joshua Taylor. We only catch snippets of the conversation, but it's clear that Taylor is the chosen representative for the Freedom Fighters later in the show.

Singles Match

Bryan Vessey vs. Floyd Goldworthy

Floyd Goldworthy is not a trained wrestler, and after a few moments of simply running away, Vessey catches the crafty manager, and after a scoop slam, Goldworthy is down. With ease, Vessey sets his opponent on the top rope, and finishes him with a Super VesseyPlex (Top Rope Exploder Suplex).

Bryan Vessey d. Floyd Goldworthy in 2:12 with a Super VesseyPlex

Post Match

A Violent Attack

After scoring the pinfall, Vessey's hand is barely raised in the air before he is blindsided by "Hell's Hitman" Eddie Peak once again. A forearm to the back knocks Vessey down, and Peak controls the head of Vessey, getting him up into the air, and driving him into the mat with a Peak of Perfection (Crucifix Powerbomb).

All-Action Tag Team Match

"Smooth" Sammy Bach & "Flying" Jimmy Foxx vs. The Canadian Animals

An exciting, fast-paced match with the action going back and forth, everyone getting their hits in. However, the end would come after Jimmy Foxx took out the All-Action champion with a corkscrew plancha to the outside leaving rivals Huggins and Bach along in the ring. Laura Huggins noticed this and jumped up on the apron and while Bach was distracted for a moment, he still saw "Teen Dream" Freddy Huggins looking for the Huggins Kiss (Superkick) and Back countered by launching an Adrenaline Shot (Superkick). Both kicks connected to the jaw of their opponent, and all Ray Johnson could do is count both men out, as neither was able to answer a 10-count.

Sammy Bach & Jimmy Foxx drew with The Canadian Animals when neither Sammy Bach nor Freddy Huggins could answer a 10-count after simultaneous Superkicks

Backstage Segment

The Syndicate's Representative

Backstage in Tommy Cornell's office, he and Wolf Hawkins are seen talking mostly with each other as Genghis Rahn stands in the corner. Rahn appears to be psyching himself up, as Cornell and Wolf appear to be talking strategy, though only a few words are caught by the cameras.

Singles Match

"Young Gun" Harry Allen vs. American Buffalo

Unaccompanied by Floyd Goldworthy, Buffalo was wild in the ring, absolutely destroying the former Tag and All-Action champ with a brutal, animalistic attack. With no regard for Allen's safety, he is promptly bulldozed with The Stampede not once, but twice before Buffalo gets the pinfall.

American Buffalo d. Harry Allen in 4:19 with 2 Stampedes

Singles Match - The Winner's team gets to pick the stipulation for the tag team match

Joshua Taylor vs. Genghis Rahn

A back and forth match, with both teams banned from ringside early by referee Sam Sparrow, both men came into this match with something to prove. After Rahn's loss to Bryan Vessey, he wanted to get back on the winning track while Taylor looked to prove that he could run with the big boys in TCW, and he made a good case for it, catching Rahn in a few bad positions using his technical wrestling skill, before finally countering a Rahn to the Hills (Spear in the corner) with a Butterfly Lock. Rahn refused to tap out, but Taylor kept the hold in tight until Rahn passed out.

Joshua Taylor d. Genghis Rahn in 16:39 when Genghis Rahn passed out in the Butterfly Lock

Tag Team Match

Rocky Golden & Koshiro Ino vs. Sam Keith & Rick Law

A hot contest in the main event, both teams looking to get their momentum up. Keith and Ino exchanged a good series of holds and counterholds early, with Golden and Law brawling when those two were in, and Keith doing a decent job of dodging the TCW Champion. Finally, Keith's antagonizing of Golden got under the skin of the champion, and as he chased "The Living Legend" around the ring, he was shocked as Law bounced off the ropes and leveled the champion with a Long Arm of the Law (Lariat) for the pin and a huge upset.

Rick Law & Sam Keith d. Rocky Golden & Koshiro Ino in 22:18 when Rick Law pinned Rocky Golden with a Long Arm of the Law

Once again computer issues kill a diary of mine, this time no longer being able to run the game as an administrator on the family laptop because my computer illiterate mother got freaked out about viruses from some magazine article or something. I may start a 2008 diary because I've got that installed on a spare computer at my friends' place.
