Big Time Wrestling (Golden Age Mod)

Recommended Posts

A little late to the party but totally enjoying catching up on all the action!! One thing I learned when playing these old school mods is that while you may book the BIG arena in your mind and storyline, you almost have to use a more realistic sized facility for game purposes (or go broke very quickly). not sure if dropping ticket prices to below market value would increase attendance enough to make a difference.

It is about time you checked out this diary.:D Too bad ModernDayWarrior is no longer around on the board because you could tell me who some of these people are.

I actually know most of these guys too. I'll throw in some historical references from time to time if it helps -- and if there are some in particular you're curious about and I'll see what I can do to shed some light on them (maybe make them more interesting for the thread).

Show Notes:

Another nice little show, with some good results. Backstage information, Buzz Sawyer no-showed the event and has been given his last chance to remain part of the PNW family. The storyline for the Sawyer brothers have been put on hold for the moment, until I figure how to keep them from causing backstage problems.

Please let me know what you think about the shows.

Thank you for reading.

Main Event: Sgt. Slaughter vs Buddy Rose

Slaughter took the first match so Rose takes this one likely via cheating.

Match #1: Ed Wiskowski vs Brett Sawyer

I´d assume that Sawyer´s get de-pushed a little because all those backstage troubles that they have caused.

Match #2: Cocoa Somoa vs Billy Two Eagles (NWA Pacific Northwest Television Bout)

Standard first title defense for Somoa

Match #3: Earthquake & Barr vs. Mystery Opponents (NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Title Bout)

Mystery mens always have good change to win but it´s too early for a title change

Dark Match #1: Art Barr vs Don Running Bear

Art Barr seems to be getting a push while Bear is just a jobber right now.

Dark Match #2: Mike Miller & Abbuda Dein vs Curtis Thompson & Rex King

King is enchantment talent according to the roster page so I doubt he goes over anyone right now.

Main Event: Sgt. Slaughter vs Buddy Rose

Rose needs the win to even up the series - by hook or by crook. could be some ally interference or other dirty tricks involved. (I opt for the Polish Prince to do the honors since he's already on the card....that could set up a tag match with Rose-Wiskowski vs Sarge and his mystery partner - or even a 6-man tag match).

I'd have Sarge cut a promo early in the show to hype his match.....and possibly another post match, dripping blood, to issue the challenge for a tag match (to get your money's worth since he charges so much per appearance -- assuming he has good mike skills). I'm sure the Playboy will have something to say early in the card too (flanked by Ed) - his promos were always entertaining and often worth the price of admission by themselves.

Match #1: Ed Wiskowski vs Brett Sawyer

The "future Colonel Debeers" gets a big win here as Sawyer is punished somewhat for his backstage antics.

Match #2: Cocoa Somoa vs Billy Two Eagles (NWA Pacific Northwest Television Bout)

I'm sure the Indian war chief will test the champ, but Cocoa Samoa retains the belt -- I'm skimming the roster to find a couple guys to build up as good challengers for the tv title. hmmmmm

Match #3: Earthquake & Barr vs. Mystery Opponents (NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Title Bout)

Could it be the Latin Connection after Al Madril's interfence last week? or maybe Al is bringing in a team to do his dirty work (Hector and Chavo??) Does Dutch Savage have any mileage left where he could actually get in the ring and wrestle? Would be interesting to see him in a 6-man tag match helping his young team. BACK TO THE MATCH AT HAND - I see the champs retaining. depending on who the challengers are it could be by a DQ (run in / weapon attack) causing the champs to demand a rematch

sidenote: Jesse Barr is aka Jimmy Jack Funk

Dark Match #1: Art Barr vs Don Running Bear

I don't think you want both members of the War Party to lose in singles matches, so can see this one go to a draw. Running Bear could use Barr to get into tv title contention - makes sense that he would get the next shot after his partner loses (possible altercation post match and he makes the save to help build up some heat for their match in couple weeks). Art is still learning the ropes so a dark match loss here won't set him back - in fact he may actually learn something in the process.

Dark Match #2: Mike Miller & Abbuda Dein vs Curtis Thompson & Rex King

the heels won the tag titles a couple times in PNW and a tough team. They should go over big here.

Sidenotes:

Abuda Dein is the son of King Curtis Iaukea (some may remember him as the scarred Dungeon Master who managed Kevin Sullivan in WCW). Abuda Dien used some of those same type occult references in his promos. He was an Iron Sheik type personna and as such can be built up as a top performer. He won the PNW tv title a couple times and had a nice feud with Coco Samoa.....hmmmm

Curtis Thompson was one of the US Males and also aka Firebreaker Chip (tag team called the Patriots). He's got the look to be a good star for you as well, but for now he's doing what he and Rex are being paid to do - lay on the mat and count the # of lights in the ceiling.

Sidenote: incidently, Curtis also went by the name "ArchAngel" at one stage of his career. Don't know if they are related, but could be a reason to try teaming them up at some point.

Match #1 (NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Championship Bout)

Match Notes The match had an average crowd and decent in-ring action. Earthquake Ferris and Jesse Barr was in total shock as one of the most brutal tag teams in the PNW past came to ring. The sheepherders wasted no time in getting the match into an all-out brawl. Miller and Williams finished the match after hitting Barr with a Double Gutbuster. The Sheepherders are the new NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Champions

Winner by Pinfall….. The Sheepherders at the 9:21 mark.

(42)

Mystery Man Destroys Jesse Barr

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_MattBorne2.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_JesseBarr.jpg

Jesse Barr remains in the ring and starts waving to the crowd when a man-beast comes from out of the crowd. A clothesline to the back head sends Barr to the ground. The mystery man removes part of the outside mat, exposing the concrete floor. He picks up Barr and powerbombs him on the concrete. Barr starts spitting up blood, as EMT's come running to his side.

Match Notes A quick squash match for Cocoa Somoa in his first defense of the Television Title

Winner by Pinfall….. Cocoa Somoa at the 2:12 mark.

(52)

Buddy Rose ambushes Sgt. Slaughter

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_BuddyRose2.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_SgtSlaughter2.jpg

Sgt. Slaughter is getting ready for his match backstage when Buddy Rose comes out of nowhere and attacks. Sgt. Slaughter had no chance to react and was soon on the floor, has Rose gets in a couple more shots in before leaving.

(67)

Match #3

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_EdWiskowski.jpg Ed Wiskowski v. http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_BrettSawyer.jpg Brett Sawyer

Match Notes This was a nice back and forth match, as neither wrestler really had any advantage. One small mistake by Brett Sawyer allowed Ed Wiskowski to hit the Pancake Piledriver and getting the victory.

Winner by Pinfall….. Ed Wiskowski at the 8:28 mark.

(50)

Buzz Sawyer Turn

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_BuzzSawyer.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_BrettSawyer.jpg

Buzz Sawyer comes down to the ring to check out his brother. Buzz helps up Brett and then hits him with a clothesline. He starts kicking him and spitting on him, as the crowd starts shouting at Buzz for turning on his brother.

(40)

Main Event NWA Pacific Northwest Heavyweight Championship Bout

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_BuddyRose2.jpg Buddy Rose v. http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_SgtSlaughter2.jpg Sgt. Slaughter

Match Notes: The match had great heat and good in-ring action. Buddy Rose and Sgt. Slaughter have great chemistry. Rose and Slaughter went back and forth the whole match. Slaughter locked in the Cobra Clutch but Rose was able to break the hold by getting the ropes. Rose got a couple of two counts but was unable to put Slaughter away. Slaughter once again went for the Cobra Clutch but Rose was able to reverse the hold in a roll-up and Rose was holding on the tights for good measure, as Rose got the victory.

Winner by pinfall…. Buddy Rose at the 17:24 mark.

(62)

Overall (53)

Show Notes:

Once again a nice little show. Overall score is getting better and I believe the action is getting better as well.

Kayfabe Information: I bet your wondering why the tag titles switch hands? Well it is because the WWF signed Jesse Barr to a written contract and he only had four more days until he left, so I had to get the title off him. The Sheepherders are what most people would remember as the Bushwackers but this is not the comedy team that WWF turned them into. This is one of the most violent tag teams during the 70's, early 80's and will be a very welcomed to the promotion.

The Latin Connection was next in line to win the titles but we will put that on hold right now and use them for another reason. Expect some big bloody battles with the Sheepherders now with the titles.

Jesse Barr leaving is also why I had Matt Borne destroy him to slightly punish him, yes I know very vindictive of me.

Well with the Sawyers brothers still causing problems, I just went ahead on started there story line I wanted to do with them later.

The Army is still looking for one person and I know who it will be.

The Sheepherders, Matt Borne and Steve Simpson have replaced the wrestlers that have left and now I will be looking for another one with the departure of Jesse Barr.

Please let me know what you think about the shows.

Thank you for reading.

NEXT SHOW PREDICTIONS

Match #1: Ed Wiskowski vs Brett Sawyer

The "future Colonel Debeers" gets a big win here as Sawyer is punished somewhat for his backstage antics.

Sidenotes:

Curtis Thompson was one of the US Males and also aka Firebreaker Chip (tag team called the Patriots). He's got the look to be a good star for you as well, but for now he's doing what he and Rex are being paid to do - lay on the mat and count the # of lights in the ceiling.

See I had no clue that was Col. DeBeers. Now that you said it I can see that. Also, I knew Curtis Thompson looked familiar now I know why.

Now as for the show:

Glad to see the Luke and Butch in the promotion. Will we being seeing Rip Morgan joining them?

I did not recognize Matt Borne aka Big Josh aka Doink the Clown. It must be something with the pictures.:D

Finally, glad to see Buzz as a bad guy. I just have a hard time seeing him as a fan favorite.

Main Event: Brett Sawyer vs Buzz Sawyer

Match #1: The Army vs Burning Fury & Jimmy Snuka

I think when you bring Jimmy in it is meant to be special so I think that is the reason for their victory.

Match #2: Cocoa Somoa vs Carl Styles (NWA Pacific Northwest Television Bout)

Match #1: Ed Wiskowski vs Brett Sawyer

The "future Colonel Debeers" gets a big win here as Sawyer is punished somewhat for his backstage antics.

Yes ole Ed Wiskowski will become Colonel DeBeers very soon. I always liked him better has Colonel DeBeers myself.

Match #2: Cocoa Somoa vs Billy Two Eagles (NWA Pacific Northwest Television Bout)

I'm sure the Indian war chief will test the champ, but Cocoa Samoa retains the belt -- I'm skimming the roster to find a couple guys to build up as good challengers for the tv title. hmmmmm

There are a couple wrestlers that can challenge Somoa for the title. I have to fiugre out which would work better story wise.

Match #3: Earthquake & Barr vs. Mystery Opponents (NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Title Bout)

Could it be the Latin Connection after Al Madril's interfence last week? or maybe Al is bringing in a team to do his dirty work (Hector and Chavo??) BACK TO THE MATCH AT HAND - I see the champs retaining. depending on who the challengers are it could be by a DQ (run in / weapon attack) causing the champs to demand a rematch

sidenote: Jesse Barr is aka Jimmy Jack Funk

Yes Jesse Barr is Jimmy Jack Funk but he wrestled with his name in the PNW during the day. Now the WWF has taken him away me and Ferris is now looking for a partner. Savage is still ok in the ring but nothing really that will help anyone. Putting him as a manager really works well for him. Will add a new partner for Ferris, probably a younger wrestler to learn from Savage and Ferris.

I always thought Thompson had the look to become someone special but his charisma never made up for the lack on in-ring skills. More of a tag team wrestler then a singles wrestler, even at a young age.

I always liked Luke and Butch. The blood and violence will return the PNW ring now.

I did not recognize Matt Borne aka Big Josh aka Doink the Clown. It must be something with the pictures.:D

I'm trying the use the pictures of before they become something else. PNW always keep the wrestlers with simply gimmicks.

Finally, glad to see Buzz as a bad guy. I just have a hard time seeing him as a fan favorite.

Buzz was never going to stay face for long. I just needed some faces for the short term while I moved people around. He works better as a heel anyways, so that is always helpful.

Main Event: Brett Sawyer vs Buzz Sawyer

Buzz takes the first win via cheating to further the fact that he is heel now.

Match #1: The Army vs Burning Fury & Jimmy Snuka

Even with Snuka there I just don´t see Burning Fury being over enough to go over The Army.

Match #2: Cocoa Somoa vs Carl Styles (NWA Pacific Northwest Television Bout)

Cocoa won´t drop the belt yet.

Match #3: The Sheepherders vs The Indian War Party (NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Bout)

No title change on first defense.

Dark Match #1: Art Barr vs Earthquake Ferris

Dark Match #2: Archangel vs. Mike Miller

nice to see Sheepherders enter the area. having them alternate main events with the Army each week should keep the territory HOT>

Other guys who made it big there that I hope to see include Piper, Billy Jack, and Tom Zenk

noticed the Southern Rockers were heels?? That sort of surprises me as I thought they were over the top popular.

likewise Cocoa Samoa, but he did play on sides of the fence - in fact he played "Sabu the Wildman" in Memphis and feuded with Jerry Lawler. then he was also Jimmy Snuka's brother Jack elsewhere. Seem to remember that Cocoa Samoa had a good feud against Snuka in the PNW (could even see them teaming up at some point).

Sort of surprises that the owner's son Jesse bolted for the WWF so soon, but nice replacement with Maniac Matt Borne! Will Borne join forces with Buzz Sawyer? or maybe be calling on partner Arn Anderson to meet him in Portland?

Main Event: Brett Sawyer vs Buzz Sawyer

Buzz should be back in top form with the heel change. Brett may be hesitant to fight his brother this time and he will pay for it with his blood. Thinking a few wins might help change their attitudes and stop the backstage nonsense (can hope anyway).

Match #1: The Army vs Burning Fury & Jimmy Snuka

since I'm going with the villian in main event (and 3 of top 4 matches), have to go with the face team here. The Army is the dominant force and not sure which 3 will compete, but see Snuka getting the win (or a DQ) to elevate him and keep him alive as the top contender. I'd actually like to see him win the belt from Oliver --- if at some point the WWF comes calling, it would still be nice to have his name attached to the title and help add some presitge to it.

Match #2: Cocoa Somoa vs Carl Styles (NWA Pacific Northwest Television Bout)

Killer Carl Styles may have been brought in by Buddy Rose and later coached by The Grappler - killer body and killer full nelson, but I don't feel any heat from him here yet (he may need an ally to help get him over - team up, split and feud). Cocoa will hold the belt until you build up someone to take him out.

Match #3: The Sheepherders vs The Indian War Party (NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Bout)

not time for the the Sheeps to bust glass bottles on their head yet. The War party should just stay home and avoid the massacre they are about to receive.

Dark Match #1: Art Barr vs Earthquake Ferris

Quake may be shaken by the departure of his partner - and takes it out on his brother. Quake could be a candidate to challenge Cocoa for the tv title - need at least one face champion for the lower card heels to go after and give them something to aim for. Like to see a build for Mike Miller vs Ferris

Art can "job" his way out of the dark matches as he learns his craft -- will be later adapt his BeetleJuice gimmick?.

Dark Match #2: Archangel vs. Mike Miller

I know Angel is your boy, but Miller is more important in the grand scheme right now. Mean Mike can be built into a main event star while people learn to care about ArchAngel

nice to see Sheepherders enter the area. having them alternate main events with the Army each week should keep the territory HOT>

Other guys who made it big there that I hope to see include Piper, Billy Jack, and Tom Zenk

I've tried to get Piper and Billy Jack but WWF have them locked up. Tom Zenk I tried to get too but you said he had no interst in coming over to PNW.

noticed the Southern Rockers were heels?? That sort of surprises me as I thought they were over the top popular.

likewise Cocoa Samoa, but he did play on sides of the fence - in fact he played "Sabu the Wildman" in Memphis and feuded with Jerry Lawler. then he was also Jimmy Snuka's brother Jack elsewhere. Seem to remember that Cocoa Samoa had a good feud against Snuka in the PNW (could even see them teaming up at some point).

Southern Rockers will be moved to face in a little while, just trying to get them higher up the card plus with the lower card full of faces I need a couple of heels in the lower card.

Sort of surprises that the owner's son Jesse bolted for the WWF so soon, but nice replacement with Maniac Matt Borne! Will Borne join forces with Buzz Sawyer? or maybe be calling on partner Arn Anderson to meet him in Portland?

Sandy Barr did not buy out PNW until 1992 from Don Owen. Sandy Barr is the head referee right now. I was shocked he left as well with his father and brother here but I guess money is thicker then blood. Matt Borne came cheap and his father Tony Borne (Road Agent) loved the hiring.

I just wanted to say its cool that you're using Brett Sawyer too. He is a great guy. At least he is now. He came to my school when I was a senior to talk about drugs. When he found out I was a wrestling fan, he stuck around to bull**** with me.

He was supposed to come back near the end of the school year but since he told it like it is and used vulgarity, the school didn't welcome him back.

I know he scared at least one of my friends off drugs for good though.

Match Notes The match had a good crowd and good action. The match started out well for the faces but the referee got knocked down early in the match. Ed Wiskowski came running to the ring, in his camouflage pants and beret. He quickly took out Super Ninja and Brady Boone, running them to the locker room leaving Jimmy Snuka on his own. Snuka was able to battle back and slight communication error between Nord and Rose allowed Snuka to hit the Superfly Splash on Oliver. Snuka got the three count before Nord or Rose can stop it. Snuka quickly rolls out of the ring to avoid a 3 on 1 attack.

Winner by Pinfall….. Jimmy Snuka at the 16:53 mark.

Brett Sawyer Interview

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_BrettSawyer.jpg

Match Notes: The match had a good crowd and decent in-ring action. Brett Sawyer would not fight his brother at the beginning of the match. Buzz Sawyer keep hitting him, yelling at Brett to fight back. After getting knocked several times, Brett starting fighting back. It looked like Brett at the victory after hitting a perfect suplex from the second rope but delayed in making the cover. When he finally went for the cover, Buzz was able to get a small package and got the victory over his brother.

Winner by pinfall…. Buzz Sawyer at the 17:24 mark.

Some thoughts before I go with the picks.

First off it is great that you signed Percy Pringle. Granted, I only saw him as Paul Bearer and have no clue what he was like when he was just a regular manager but it is still a great move.

That couldn't possibly be a Jimmy Snuka interview because I actually understood every word that he said. And that never happened in a real Jimmy Snuka interview.:D

For Earthquake's new partner, I shall go with Curtis Thompson.

Main Event: Coloronal DeBeers vs Jimmy Snuka

Match #1: Buddy Rose vs The Grappler

Match #2: Cocoa Somoa vs Steve Simpson (NWA Pacific Northwest Television Bout)

War Party is a jobber team

Dark Match #2: Matt Borne vs Curtis Thompson

Borne seems to be getting some build-up so I guess that it will continue here.

Match Notes The match had an average crowd and decent in-ring action. Al Madril and Rickey Santana was just to much for Brady Boone and Super Ninja tonight. Burning Fury seemed a little slow tonight, as it could have been from Colonel DeBeers beating on them last week. Madril hits the Piledriver on Boone to get the victory.

Winner by Pinfall….. Latin Connection at the 5:57 mark.

(41)

The Grappler Attacked

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_RipOliver.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_JohnNord2.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_BuddyRose2.jpghttp://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_TheGrappler.jpg

Match Notes In his debut match Steve Simpson put the biggest battle so far against Cocoa Somoa but in the end it was not enough to defeat him. Somoa keeps the Television Title after hitting the Piledriver on Simpson

Winner by Pinfall….. Cocoa Somoa at the 3:44 mark.

(49)

Jimmy Snuka Interview

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_JimmySnuka2-1.jpg

Snuka walks into the crows nest to address the crowd and the fans watching at home.

Jimmy Snuka: Rip Oliver once again you attack me with your goons. Do you not remember what happened last week? I pinned you Oliver. One, Two, Three in the center of that ring. So you can keep attacking me all you want but at Emerald Fusion, I will climb that ladder and reach the title is mine.

(58)

Match #3

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_TheGrappler.jpg The Grappler v. http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_BuddyRose2.jpg Buddy Rose

Match Notes The match had a good crowd and decent in-ring action. The attack earlier in the evening looked like it was not effecting The Grappler, as you was taken Buddy Rose to the limit. The referee got sandwhiched inbetween Rose and The Grappler, knocking him out. The Grappler hit a clothesline and went for the cover no referee to make the count. John Nord comes down to the ring and hits the Falling Powerslam. Buddy Rose crawls over to cover The Grappler as the referee slowly makes the count.

Winner by Pinfall….. Buddy Rose at the 16:53 mark.

(42)

Rip Oliver Interview

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_RipOliver.jpg

Rip Oliver: You did not beat me last week Snuka. I tripped and got my foot stuck on the mat. You have no chance in beating me at Emerald Fusion. You will be lying on the mat, looking up as I take the belt hanging over the ring and remain the NWA Pacific Northwestern Heavyweight champion.

(57)

Main Event

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_JimmySnuka2-1.jpg Jimmy Snuka v. http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i387/thunderwill/TEW/th_ColonelDeBeers.jpg Colonel DeBeers

Match Notes: The match had great heat and good action. Colonel DeBeers acutally gave Jimmy Snuka a match. It was back and force for while until Snuka hit the flying chop. A flying crossbody from Snuka looked to be the end for DeBeers. Oliver comes walking down the ring. Oliver jumps onto the apron. Snuka is arguing with Oliver and forget DeBeers. DeBeers coming running at him for clothesline but Snuka moves out of the way at the last second, DeBeers crashing into Oliver, sending Oliver to the floor and DeBeers lying in the middle of the ring. The Superfly Splash comes next and the victory for Snuka.

Winner by pinfall…. Jimmy Snuka at the 17:24 mark.

(53)

Overall (48)

Show Notes:

Once again a nice little show. Things are being moved for the next big event in Emerald Fusion.

Kayfabe Information: Steve Simpson wrestled as part of the tag team S & S Express with

Joe Savoldi. I would have got him as well but UWF signed him to a written contract. Yes a theme is beginning to come to light with every wrestler I'm looking to bring in having written contracts now.

A little poll for you loyal readers.

Who would you pick as Earthquake Ferris new tag team partner with the wrestlers on the roster?

Please let me know what you think about the shows.

Main Event: Buddy Rose & Colonel DeBeers vs Sgt. Slaughter & Jimmy Snuka

DeBeers looks like the weak link here

Match #1: Cocoa Somoa vs Brett Sawyer (NWA Pacific Northwest Television Title Bout)

With all the backstage troubles that Brett has caused I doubt that you would give him a title run.

Match #2: Buzz Sawyer vs Steve Doll

I could see Steve going over espesially if you want to punish Buzz but I still go with who I see as bigger name right now.

Match #3: Sheepherders vs Burning Fury (NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Title Bout)

Too early for a title change.

Dark Match #1: Southern Rockers vs The Indian War Party

If it would be someone else than War Party I would go with them winning as this just happened in last show but War Party are just jobbers so Rockers get another win.

Dark Match #2: Matt Borne vs Curtis Thompson

I don´t see Thompson going over Borne right now so the result stays the same.

Main Event: Buddy Rose & Colonel DeBeers vs Sgt. Slaughter & Jimmy Snuka

I'll go against the grain here and pick the Army to win - keeping some heat on the villians. Possibly Rip Oliver attacking Snuka leading to the win (either the cause or taking him out so Rose and Debeers can double team Sarge)

Match #1: Cocoa Somoa vs Brett Sawyer (NWA Pacific Northwest Television Title Bout)

Match #2: Buzz Sawyer vs Steve Doll

IS Steve Doll doing double duty? (or was this supposed to be Simpson?)

Match #3: Sheepherders vs Burning Fury (NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Title Bout)

Sheepherders are are too good to drop the belts yet

Dark Match #1: Southern Rockers vs The Indian War Party

Rockers continue to Roll

Dark Match #2: Matt Borne vs Curtis Thompson

I think the Grappler would be a good choice to team with Ferris. Gives the star something to do. Another option might be Styles (maybe better results as a unit that by themselves) - otherwise, maybe experiment each week with different guys until you find someone that clicks with Chemistry? The Ferris team of the week would give the Sheepherders a steady diet of challengers until you find the right fit and/or build up a MAIN EVENT challenger for them which leads me to.......

ALSO: Sarge was always so much better in his feuds against anti-Americans. For that purpose, I would move him out of fighting The Army (even tho they now have Debeers) and feud him with Latin Connection with the build toward a tag title match against the Sheepherders. Good choice as partner could be Curtis Thompson in a team called The Patriots (not that you have to reprise the Firebreaker Chip personna or anything) or Cobra Corps (Thompson would fit the Don Kernodle / Private Nelson role well). If they click, Sarge could really help out Thompson's career - and I could see them having an excellent feud with Sheepherders after a few matches against no-name teams and the Latins to build up their experience. I could even see them winning the titles and then moving into a program with the Army and Debeers. just a thought

Damn, I somehow missed this diary so far. Just got done reading through it and I like what I saw. There are a bunch of guys on your roster I never even heard the name of (I'm German and for the most part, we had WWF and some NWA on TV back then, nothing else). Anyways, starting with the picks now...
