Hmm, you make a point, I just pictured a farm when I thought about his accent and everything. Thanks for mentioning that!

P.S. January's card is here!!!

ACPW Monthly Mayhem

Windsor Arena Hall, Ontario

Canadian Regional Championship Number One Contender Match – Stage Two

Remmy Skye vs. Masked Cougar vs. Snap Dragon

The CZCW trio stood victorious in December, and one of these three are one step away from getting a shot at the Canadian Regional title. Remmy could be the first man to hold two titles in his career, while the Lords of Xteme will both look to win their first gold in ACPW.

Jayson Van Pelt & Alistair Shufflebottom vs. The California Kings

A new years brings change, and that is especially true for California Love Machine and Frankie-Boy Fernandes. The promising young duo have spoken with ACPW and informed us that they have changed their name from “The Coasters” to “The California Kings”. After JVP beat Frankie in November, the Kings have requested to face JVP and a partner of his choosing in a tag match. In a bit of a surprise, The Champ has decided on the youngster Alistair Shufflebottom as his partner, and we have ourselves a match!

ACPW Canadian Regional Championship Match

MYSTIC Dragon vs. Torch Nakazawa

Last month saw MYSTIC make history as he knocked off Mario da Silva to claim the Canadian Regional title. Torch felt slighted in the fact that he wasn't pinned when MYSTIC won the number one contender match, and beat Sky King to earn a shot at the belt for himself. da Silva has already announced that he has no intentions of cashing in his re-match, as he is solely focused on the Junior Heavyweight title now. So with that being said, Torch's win last month bumps him to the front of the line, and he will be the first challenger under Dragon's reign.

ACPW Tag Team Championship Match

The Canadian Blondes vs. The Nest of Vipers

No one would have believed you if you told them how last month's tag title match would have turned out beforehand. But it happened, and as a result we have new champions in Oscar Golden and Huey Cannonball. Glenn and Atherton obviously won't be cashing in their re-match, so we moved quickly to find their first challengers. Former champions and perennial threats Dagger and Mimic made a case for themselves with how they beat down the Montreal Mafia last month, so it'll The Blondes and The Vipers, the tag team belts on the line!

El Diablo vs. Insane Machine

We've got a number of reports of how irate El Diablo was for our December show, not only being banned from the building, but having to watch two “invaders” take belts off ACPW Originals. He burst through our offices demanding a match for January against any one of these “invaders”. We put his challenge out there, and the first person to respond was the one who's had the biggest problem with Diablo to date, Insane Machine! These two will look to tear each other apart as Machine looks to avenge the shame Diablo's brought on through constant interference and de-masking, while Diablo will try to clean ACPW of “invaders”, one person at a time.

Jamie Atherton vs. KC Glenn

And if you thought Diablo and Insane had bad blood between them, you haven't seen anything yet. By now you know what happened last month, and after hearing KC calling him out on http://www.acpwrestling.co.ca, Jamie immediately accepted, and had some bold words for our reporter/colour guy Tim Weightman, “I can't tell you who it'll be, but one of us will have to be carried out of that match. It will be destruction, it will be warfare, it will be the most intense match ACPW has ever seen.”

quick recommendation: it might only be me as I read a lot of diaries but I find it really hard to remember who's in which tag team. If you say Los Exploziones (Juan Fiamma & Pascale Geniale) it makes it much easier for readers to keep track.

Canadian Regional Championship Number One Contender Match – Stage Two

Remmy Skye vs. Masked Cougar vs. Snap Dragon

Our opener was exactly the fire-starter we were hoping it would be, and it definitely got the crowd going as we hoped. A match that could have easily headlined for us in the past was now a fantastic opener, a great statement about the growth of the company over the last two years. While Cougar and Snap tried to work together, Skye showed them both up with his singles prowess, eventually getting a win via Skye Diver.

Winner: Remmy Skye

Rating: 47

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/JaysonVanPelt.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/AlistairShufflebottom.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/_BlankBackground2.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/CaliforniaLoveMachine.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/Frankie-BoyFernandes.jpg

Jayson Van Pelt & Alistair Shufflebottom vs. The California Kings

The level of respect and appreciation shown between these four was admirable, and the crowd really appreciated it. While not as good as the opener it was still a solid match that told a story with the two established workers(JVP&CLM) leading the way and giving advice to help their partners when it came to their turn. As the match went on, the action expanded around the ringside area with Frankie and Jayson in the ring with Alistair and Cali brawling outside. Out of nowhere, Mario da Silva came out from the back, taking advantage of the referee's divided attention. Frankie whipped Jayson into the ropes, and da Silva used this window to punch Jayson square in the middle of the back. JVP almost collapsed from the blow, which upon further review was aided by a pair of brass knuckles. Frankie, unaware of what happened, dropped his kneeling opponent with a Dirt Nap to pick up the massive upset!

Winner: The California Kings

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/ACPW_Canadian.jpg

ACPW Canadian Regional Championship Match

MYSTIC Dragon vs. Torch Nakazawa

The first of two title matches, this match benefited from both the massive heel heat that Torch now brings with him in practically every match, as well as the aerial mastery of Dragon. Torch came in with a chip on his shoulder, feeling that he should have been the one to face Mario last month, not MYSTIC, and he focused all his aggression on the champ. Unfortunately for him, pure talent outweighs force and rage, and when Torch went for a chop block, Dragon did a breath-taking backflip over him to avoid it, and then a front-flip double stop that landed right on the back of Torch's head, knocking him out cold for the win.

Winner: MYSTIC Dragon

ACPW Tag Team Championship Match

The Canadian Blondes vs. The Nest of Vipers

The crowd didn't know how to react to the Blondes, with some of them cheering out of national pride, while the rest booed them for their arrogance. The Vipers played edge-y faces, who're growing bitter with each unsuccessful title shot. They held the advantage in this match thanks to their gritty, stiff work, but in the end the “cunning” of the champs lead them to their first defense when Oscar pinned Mimic near the edge of the ring, while Huey held his legs down for the added leverage and cheap victory!

Winner: The Canadian Blondes

Rating: 46

As the intermission came to an end and everyone funneled back into their seats for the main events, ACPW owner Daedalus Buchinsky came to the ring, microphone in hand. A smattering of applause from ACPW die-hards before he began to speak.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/DaedalusBuchinsky.jpg

“Good evening Windsor!!!”

The light applause expanded at the cheap pop and after letting it soak in for a few seconds, he continued on.

“So, as many of you know, the North American Professional Baseball League will be coming north of the border for their annual All-Star Game!”

Another cheap pop, the crowd reacts accordingly, and a light “Ca-Na-Da” chant starts before Daed picks back up.

“We couldn't be more proud to be in the greatest province, and host of the NAPBL All-Star Game, which will be live in Toronto in July! As a result, we've talked about it and decided to have some festivities ourselves! Every year we've done some cross-promotion work, be it our Tag Tournament two years ago or our CZCW Challenge last year. Well this year, we'd like to announce the first ever ACPW Mid-Summer Classic! In what will be the largest show in the history of ACPW, we will see the best trios in the world fight in a tournament where each member of the winning team will get a title shot of their choice!”

The crowd cheers for the announcement, and the notion of world stars making their way to ACPW.

“We can't say for sure how many teams will be involved, as we're still working out negotiations with a bevvy of talent, but I promise you it will be the can't miss event of the Summer! Thank you all, now let's get back to the show!”

Daed drops the microphone and confidently saunters to the back as the crowd starts an “A-C-P-Dub” chant which causes a very giant grin to form on the face of the company owner. He waves to the crowd before disappearing behind the curtain, and like that it's right back to the trademark ACPW intensity.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/ElDiablo.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/_BlankBackground2.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/InsaneMachine_alt.jpg

El Diablo vs. Insane Machine

This was a bit of a letdown due to what many people were expecting due to how incredibly one-sided it was. Insane clearly wasn't prepared for the aggression that Diablo was going to bring into this one as Diablo completely dominated in this match, pummeling and embarrassing Machine, the finish coming after a series of Diablo Driver IIs incapacitated Machine. The pin was merely a formality as Insane couldn't budge after all the abuse he had taken.

Winner: El Diablo

Rating: 38

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/JamieAtherton_alt.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/_BlankBackground2.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/KCGlenn_alt.jpg

Jamie Atherton vs. KC Glenn

Due to the bad blood and talent of these two, everyone expected this to be a wild contest, but this blew away everyone's expectations. Jamie came to the ring for the first time without his trademark sunglasses and chains to show that he was all business for this one. Glenn casually made his way to the ring next, with an aura of arrogance surround him that few have ever seen before. As KC slowly made his way into the ring, grinning the whole time, Jamie was pointing and shouting at him, but showed the restraint to not attack before the bell rang. Once it did though, Atherton launched towards KC like he was shot out of a cannon. KC's carefree attitude quickly faded as he got mounted and pummeled by Jamie, who was intent on beating KC soundly, to prove his worth and to prove his former partner wrong.

These two went back and forth with some of the most spirited grappling ever seen in ACPW, with both men gaining advantages at certain points. When Glenn would take control, his arrogance would return in the form of a sadistic sense of glee he took in doling out punishment to his former partner. It was in one of these moments when Glenn though he had Atherton out on his feet, and began to Tune Up the Sunshine Band. Unfortunately Jamie still had some fight in him, and blocked the would-be killshot, and hoisted a stunned KC up for a Lightning Bolt. Atherton was simply too weak at that point in the match, and Glenn slipped out, turned Jamie around, and dropped him with a Lightning Bolt of his own!!! The crowd booed louder than I can remember for the blatant theft, but it did no good, as KC hooked the leg, and just like that, KC Glenn picked up the hardest fought victory of his young career.

Winner: KC Glenn

Rating: 52

Show Rating: 48

Predictions:

Boltinho 2/6

Thanks for the heads up Bolt, on both the tag naming and "farmboy" KC Glenn. That's the kind of constructive feedback that helps this better, so feel free to pick apart any other flaws you see!

It was a blustery Sunday evening in Windsor as I sat inside, watching the wretched winter weather outside my window. As I sipped on my coffee, I made myself comfortable and flipped on the TV to order Malice in Wonderland, not satisfied with watching the Rams getting blown out again. The opening match was between Sammy Bach and Charlie Thatcher, and as I watched, I couldn't imagine how the much smaller Bach could hold his own against the big, burly Thatcher. I guess that's what happens when you're used to only working with the little guys. As the match went on I found myself enamored with Bach's speed and talent. I flipped open my laptop and browsed through TCW's page, almost in awe of all the talented cruisers they had under contract. Acid, Benny, Chance, Stone, Bach, Singh, Perez, and James. If I could work with just one of them I'd have a field day, and that's why I find myself so dedicated to helping ACPW grow, to be on the same level of the Eisens, Stones, DeColts, and Cornells. I got so caught up day-dreaming I almost missed the phone ringing. I quickly answered it, knowing it could hold an important call, and it did.

“Hello, Mr. Whitman?” Asked a nasally man on the other end.

“Yeah, that's me, you can call me Jake though.”

“My apologies. I'm Mike Spewak, producer for the 'Bird Droppings' show, you're scheduled to be on in ten minutes and I wanted to get you on the line and prepped for the interview.”

And so we ran through all the ins and outs of a phone interview (the first one I've done, I was actually pretty excited to be completely honest), and after a pre-taped ad for Ring Fanatics ran, it was my time to shine.

“And welcome all you feather-heads, it's time for our guest of the week! While a lot of you may not know him yet, I'm telling you he has a chance to become one of the marquee names in wrestling front offices. Our guest is a man I've had the pleasure of working with in the past, the creative mind behind ACPW, mister Jacob Whitman!”

Matt hit the applause sound effect on his soundboard, and I couldn't help but chuckle out of both amusement and nervousness. As the effect died down I responded.

“It's been a while man, good to talk to you! Looks like you've really taken to this internet thing, huh?”

“Most definitely. It started with just the blog, but I've always been interested in broadcasting, so I tried it out and we've hit the ground running. But enough about me, this is your time. Things have been really picking up in ACPW, as you guys ended 2011 with about the biggest bang imaginable. The Franchise split, Mario dropped the belt and JVP is really coming into his own as the face of the company. Add in the debut of The Canadian Blondes and the continual ascent of Torch, could you have asked for a better way to end the year?”

“No, absolutely not, between the giant crowd, the huge stories, and fantastic matches, our December show was all we wanted and more. And I'm sure Daed would like me to let everyone listening know that our December show is available for pre-order on acpwrestling.co.ca, and will be shipping this week!”

We both chuckled at my shameless plug, and I took a sip of coffee as he asked his next question.

“So the biggest question on everyone's mind is why break up The Franchise? They were the cornerstone of the tag team division and have continued to outdo themselves match after match. Did you go into their formation knowing how it was going to end, or as the year went on you decided to pull the trigger?”

“Well, we kind of went into it not sure what we were going to get. We signed KC as soon as he came onto the scene, knowing the hype that was behind him we and wanting to see if he could back it up. Jamie wasn't doing a whole lot at that point, so we threw 'em together and put them through the tag tournament. We figured if they were good then we could give them a run at the gold, and if not then no big deal, they would just be another pair of challengers that fell just short. And not only were they good, they were awesome. As they went on we started to book KC as the focus in the ring, to see if he could handle carrying a match-”

“-Which happened to make a perfect rationale for the split further down the road, right?” Matt interjected, his mind getting to the conclusion a half-step before I could explain it.

“Exactly. And after seeing the out pour of support for the ACPW Originals, I knew how we could take both of these guys to the next level. And here we are, KC is the most vile individual to step into an ACPW ring and Jamie is a sympathetic figure who the crowd is going to revel in supporting. It's a win-win situation for both guys.”

“Where does that leave Van Pelt? Lost in the shuffle?” Matt asked, with a sincere tone of interest in his voice, I could tell he's been closely following what we've been doing lately.

“Jayson's growing right now, in confidence and experience. KC's already stated he wants to be the star of the promotion, and Jamie wants his revenge, so don't be surprised if we see these three all mixed up sooner than later.”

“Well we'll all be looking forward to that!” Sparrow chimed in. You could hear the shuffling of papers on his end of the line as he took a second to re-set the interview. “For those of you just joining us, I'm joined by the creative mind behind the fastest growing promotion in Canada, ACPW, Jacob Whitman. Now Jake, we have some questions that fans have emailed in, mind if we hit on some of those?”

“No, not at all! Let's blast through 'em.” It was official, I was having a good time, and I think it was starting to show.

“Alright, this first one's a two parter: Have you thought about bringing in Jared Johnson, and is there anyone you've tried to bring in but it just didn't work out?”

“Hmm. We talked to Jared when he started, there was talks of having him tag with Kirk, but when Simon left PGHW, we decided to go in a different direction. He's doing great in CGC though, and I'd be absolutely open to bringing him in down the road if the right situation presented itself. As for the second part, the only one I could think of was Black Eagle. Back when Burning Hammer was going through their rough patch and they booted Iesada from booker, they re-signed Eagle to a verbal deal, so I tried to bring him back to North America, but Daed didn't think he was a good locker room guy and nixed the whole thing.”

“Huh, interesting. Next question! A listener wrote in and said he saw pictures of you at the North of the Border New Year's party online, he wants to know if you're planning on leaving ACPW?”

In that instant I think my whole body started to blush as I started to laugh uncontrollably. As I began to regain my composure Matt chuckled and asked a follow-up.

“I'll take that as a no, huh?”

“Definitely. Davis Wayne Newton is a really good friend of mine, he invited me and so we went and had a great time. I love ACPW, there's no way I'd walk out of here under my own free will. In fact, I just signed a two-year extension, so barring any type of catastrophic failure, I'll be around for the foreseeable future.”

“That's fantastic news for ACPW fans. One last question and we'll let you go. We actually have an ACPW fan from New Brunswick who doesn't seem to be that fond of you. He writes 'What are you doing to ACPW? You've fired most of the roster, moved out of The Maritimes, and seem to completely disrespect everything that ACPW is all about. Who do you think you are, and why hasn't Daedalus fired you yet?”

I felt a pang of guilt in my stomach as the conversation took a very serious and grim turn without warning. I took a deep breath of air to recover from the gut-punch of a question I was just faced with and prepared the most diplomatic answer I could come up with.

“I'm sorry you feel that way man. Daed brought me in with the distinct rules of growing the company into something that'll make people notice. I gave everyone on the original roster a chance to prove themselves, but they just weren't ready yet so I brought in new talent that had much more experience and were asking for comparable money. At the end of the day this is still a business, and that's also why we moved to 'the city', to give ourselves more exposure which has worked so far. We're growing leaps and bounds with each show, both in the ring and in the public's eye. So I'm sorry you feel the way you do, but I hope you haven't given up on us yet, I promise you ACPW fans new and old will all enjoy what we have planned for 2012.”

“Good answer, and sorry for throwing you that curveball, but we are fair and balanced coverage here in Feather Nation Jake. Anything else you'd like to plug before you go?”

“It's no problem Matt, we all need a little dose of reality now and then. And yeah, like I said, our December show will be out on DVD next week, our February show will be next week from our home base of the Windsor Arena Hall will feature an international dream match for the Canadian Regional Championship, between champion MYSTIC Dragon and challenger Remmy Skye. And as a treat for all of all the feather-heads listening right now, I'd like to announce the first three teams of the ACPW Mid-Summer Classic.”

“Oh wow! We hadn't even mentioned the Classic, which'll be when? June? July?” My surprised worked, I had the host stunned on his own show.

“June 2012, Windsor Arena Hall. I can now confirm that it will be a field of twenty-six teams in the Mid-Summer Classic, and the first three are “The Golden Trio”, champions Jayson Van Pelt, Huey Cannonball, and Ozzie Golden, one of two teams representing Japan will feature champion MYSTIC Dragon, Reijiro Hiraki, and North of the Border alumni Kenko Takesmitsu. And finally, I'm proud to announce “Team UK” which will be UK Dragon, Joey Beauchamp, and 21CW Triple-Crown Champion Adam Matravers!”

“Holy cow, you guys weren't messing around with this!! Twenty-six teams? International talent galore? How are you guys going to be able to afford this?”

“Well we're hoping we can at this point. And if not, at least we'll have gone out with a bang!” We laughed, though I knew that that statement was more serious than it had come off.

“Most definitely. So what have you got planned for the rest of the evening in frigid Windsor, Ontario?”

“Right now I'm just sitting here watching Malice in Wonderland, and after that I might just call it a night. I've been pretty boring lately.”

We both chuckled at my self-deprecation before he asked me another question.

“Who do you have in the main event? Vessey to retain or Anderson for the upset?”

“Vessey, without a shadow of a doubt. I like John, but he's been a tag wrestler for how long now? I don't see him taking the belt off one of the best wrestlers in the world. But that's just me, who know what Tommy has up his sleeves.”

“Absolutely. Well it was great talking to you again Jake, feel free to come back on at anytime, and don't be afraid to bring be back up to ACPW at some time, I'll give Jayson a run for his money!”

“Definitely, let me know when you want me back and I'll be here. And you know, if we can think of something for ya, we might just give you a call. Later man!”

I stayed on the line just to hear him run down my bio one last time and send it to commercial. Satisfied with my performance, I hung up and let the whole experience wash over me. I leaned back and watched what I thought was NOTBPW, as Dan Stone Jr was facing off against Johnny Bloodstone before I realized it was in a TCW ring. The wrestling world is a strange place man...

A backstage moment with: Jamie Atherton & El Diablo

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/JamieAtherton_alt.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/ElDiablo.jpg

Jamie is seen backstage being tended to by medical staff, still sore from taking one of his own finishers at the hands of KC Glenn in the main event. Small talk is made back and forth before the staffers take off and Jamie starts to hobble towards his locker room. As he starts walking a voice is heard from off screen.

“Woah, woah, woah. Slow down there hotshot.”

The camera pans over to see former ACPW Champion El Diablo walking up, a slight smirk on his face.

“That little redneck punk got you pretty good, didn't he?” Diablo asked, looking over the damage done to the man standing in front of him.

“What do you want D?” Jamie blurted out, clearly not having any patience for where the conversation appeared to be going.

“Hey calm down. I had a proposal for you. Now look, I know we've never seen eye-to-eye, but there's something that's bigger than us happening right now. I'm sick and tired of management bringing in all these nobodies from across the world, trying to force them down the fans throats, and force us onto the back burner. All those Californian dweebs, the juniors, the Brits, the luchadores, who do they all think they are? This is ACPW. This is the promotion that people like you and I built with had work and sacrifice. People like Jayson and Dagger and Mimic fought to build the reputation of. People like Malik Cash who may never be the same again because of what he went through in fighting for this company. We need to have each other's backs, take a stand, reclaim the throne. And this starts next month. Main Event, You and I versus that brat KC Glenn and whoever he wants to bring along. You in?”

Any skepticism that Atherton may have had is gone, as he let everything Diablo just said soak over him you could see the same smirk that Diablo had wash over his face.

“Yeah, might as well be. See you in February?” And with that Jamie extended his hand for a handshake, the two shook and smiled as the camera faded out.

A special message from: Arthur Dexter Bradley

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/ArthurDexterBradley.jpg

A simple, nondescript room is our setting as ADB stands there, rubbing his hands together looking at the ground. The camera gets closer and Arthur looks up and stares right into it, revealing an intensity in his eyes we've yet to see from him during his time in ACPW.

“It's been two years. Two years since I've been here. In those two years, I've had numerous shots at the top, including one of the best matches in company history, but I've never been able to do anything with it. I've spent too much time joking around, being this clown who has done nothing but shame my heritage. I have family members winning titles and main eventing all over the world. Me? I'm slumming around this two-bit company acting like a fool, but that ends right now. Arthur Dexter Bradley is no more, instead, you will all be witness to “The Flying Samoan” Afasa Fierce. Anyone who wants to see why Samoans are so highly regarded as the fiercest warriors in the modern world feel free to step up.”

(OOC: Sorry I've been gone guys, I've been tied up with work, my birthday, and playing the game again. I'm back though, and I've officially played up to January 2014, so expect me to keep rolling through from show to show. February's card will be up tonight.)

'Southern Thunder' is seen sitting in front of a locker looking down at a phone, and you can hear the end of Jamie and Diablo's interaction coming out of the speaker. After chuckling in amusement, KC puts the phone down and looks up at the camera.

“Ya'll make me laugh, I'll tell you what! I don think ya kuh-wiite geet it Jay-mee. I beat ya! One two three! I dropped ya on yer head with yer own dang move boy! Wait, maybe thas why yer actin' a fool, did I knock the sense right out yer brain? I'm past tag teams ann I'm past yew boy. But les do this, okay? I'll do yer stoopid tag match, but whoever wins faces off nex month to determine the numbeh one contendeh. Deal? That way I get to shut ya up AND get my shot at that Aye-Cee-Pee-Dubya title finally. See ya in the ring ya fool.”

(So things got a bit mixed up, didn't realize I had something else to post[that's what I get for taking off for so long!], so February's card will be up tomorrow, sorry for the delay guys!)

ACPW Monthly Mayhem

Windsor Arena Hall, Ontario

Afasa Fierce vs. Mr. Lucha III

If you've been following the updates posted to acpwrestling.co.ca, you saw the former ADB's comments posted the other day. We got word that his open challenge had been accepted by none other than Mr. Lucha III, who will try to derail Afasa's “debut”.

California Love Machine & Frankie-Boy Fernandes, The California Kings vs. Snap Dragon & Masked Cougar, The Lords of Xtreme

Regardless of the way their match with JVP and Alistair went down, The Kings stood victorious at the end of the contest. They'll look to continue their winning ways as they go up against fellow CZCW alums.

Mario da Silva vs. UK Dragon

By getting involved in JVP's business last month, the former Canadian Regional Champion let everyone know he has his eyes set on the champ. In his first match since losing his belt, we'll see if Mario can hold his own and successfully transition to the main event or not as he goes up against the international sensation, UK Dragon.

Jayson Van Pelt & Alistair Shufflebottom vs. Oscar Golden & Huey Cannonball, The Canadian Blondes

The Champ was none too pleased with the way his tag match went last month, and asked for another shot this month. The Tag Team Champions agreed to a non-title match, so we'll see champ vs. champ action, as JVP and his new protege take on Huey and Oscar.

ACPW Canadian Regional Championship Match

MYSTIC Dragon vs. Remmy Skye

In an international dream match, Remmy Skye will look to become the first person to have won two ACPW titles over the course of his career after winning the second ever contendership series. The champ came off the hard fought win against his fellow countryman last month, and looks to continue a reign comparable to that of his predecessor.

Jamie Atherton & El Diablo vs. KC Glenn & ???

A saga that's continuing to unfold in front of everyone's eyes, Atherton and Glenn have brought a level of intensity to ACPW never before seen. These two have went back and forth over the last month in segments you can see here on acpwrestling.co.ca, and will come to blows again in our February main event. Diablo will be on Atherton's side, but we haven't heard any word of who Glenn will be partnering with. Whoever wins won't only have bragging rights, but a match with their partner next month to determine the number one contender to the Junior Heavyweight title!

PLUS! We will reveal more teams to the Mid-Summer Classic, so you'll want to be at the Windsor Arena Hall, the home of ACPW, to hear that news before anyone else on the planet!

  • 8 months later...

(OOC: So has anyone ever taken an unannounced 10-month hiatus from a diary only to come back completely unannounced? If not, add that as a first to my resume. Don't know if anyone on here even remembers this/me, but I was really bored tonight and I opened TEW for the first time in about six months and I figured I'd see if I could put together a show and see if it was even fun. So here's this, no clue if I'll do more or just stop after this, I'll let you guy know either way if anyone reads this.)

ACPW Monthly Mayhem

Sunday, Week 4, February 2012

Windsor Arena Hall, Ontario

Afasa Fierce vs. Mr. Lucha III

While the former ADB came out looking the same as before, his actions were night and day different from his prior matches. The proud Samoan warrior came out with something to prove and dominated every moment of the match. A Samoan Spike DDT later and Fierce was the winner.

Winner: Afasa Fierce

Rating: 40

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/CaliforniaLoveMachine.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/Frankie-BoyFernandes.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/_BlankBackground2.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/MaskedCougar.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/SnapDragon.jpg

The California Kings vs. The Lords of Xtreme

Snap Dragon and Masked Cougar didn't let their triangle match last month get between them and the Lords looked poised to pick up their first tag victory in ACPW. However it just wasn't in the books here as CLM and FBF continued to roll, picking up their second win in as many months when CLM finished off Cougar with an LAX Departure.

Winner: The California Kings

Rating: 47

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/MariodaSilva.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/_BlankBackground2.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/UKDragon.jpg

Mario da Silva vs. UK Dragon

da Silva turned a lot of heads last month when he cost champion JVP his tag team match, so he needed to prove in this contest that hes a legitimate contender to the belt. The international man of wonder UK Dragon did all that he could to derail the former Regional Champion, but Mario's technical prowess proved too much in the end. A lethal armbar forced Dragon to tap and da Silva was back to his winning ways.

Winner: Mario da Silva

Rating: 52

Mario made no effort to leave the ring following the match, despite the referees trying to force him to leave. When JVP and Alistair made their way out for their match Mario casually strolled back up the ramp. The referees tried to get between the three men, but da Silva made no attempt to assault the champion. Instead he merely poked the belt and made a hand motion at his waist, obviously smack-talking the champion as he made his way to the back. JVP merely rolled his eyes and got into the ring with his protege for their next match.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/JaysonVanPelt.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/AlistairShufflebottom.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/_BlankBackground2.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/OzzieGolden.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/HueyCannonball.jpg

Non-title Match

Jayson Van Pelt & Alistair Shufflebottom vs. The Canadian Blondes

The amount of gold in the ring in the pre-match introductions was awe-inspiring as both the Junior Heavyweight and Tag Team titles were on display. The tag belts weren't on the line though, not that it mattered. Despite JVP's mentoring, Shuffle continued to be the weak link in their partnership, and the opportunistic tag champs capitalized on it. Huey finished Alistair off with a Cannonball Run as Oscar kept JVP occupied.

Winner: The Canadian Blondes

Rating: 37

The crowd all quickly returned to their seat as the intermission came to an end, everyone excited for the upcoming Regional Championship match that was about to begin. But before that could get underway, ACPW Owner Daedalus Buchinsky came out with a microphone in hand. A few members of the crowd started a faint “Dae-da-lus” chant which made him chuckle before he began to speak.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/DaedalusBuchinsky.jpg

“Good evening ladies and gentlemen! How are we doing tonight?!?”

A pause for a strong crowd reaction, and Daed continued on.

“So I'm not sure if you guys heard the news yet, but we've begun to announce the participants for the first ever ACPW Mid-Summer Classic! Our first three trios were announced online earlier this month, and I'm here to announce the next three!”

The crowd no longer seems to mind having to wait a few extra moment for the Regional Championship match, as a loud cheer fills the hall while Daed commences with the announcement.

“Representing Australia's ZEN: Art of Wrestling will be Halloween Knight, Necromancer, and Cyanide, three of the four members of the group “FEAR”! Out of the Ring of Fire promotion in England will be Billy Robinson alongside Jon Michael Sharp and Martin Heath! And finally... Let's see.. Who shall we announce... How about... Hmm... Maybe... Nah. Perhaps... No, no that just won't do...”

Sensing they're being toyed with, the crowd begins to turn on the jovial owner, who laughs a little before getting back to business.

“Alright, alright. The last trio announced tonight will be the group of Team FCW, Afasa Fierce, Kid Toma, and Mainstream Hernandez!!!”

The wait was worth it, the crowd erupts at the notion of Canadian son James “Mainstream” Hernandez returning home, accompanied by former SWF Star Kid Toma and current ACPW standout Afasa Fierce.

“And with that out of the way, lets get back to the show!”

Daedalus drops the mic and makes his way to the back as a very loud “A-C-P-DUB” chant breaks out.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/ACPW_Canadian.jpg

ACPW Canadian Regional Championship Match

MYSTIC Dragon vs. Remmy Skye

The crowd was hot after the big announcement, and that definitely brought this match up a notch, though one would argue it didn't need much help to impress. Both men gave it their all and the level of mutual respect was apparent throughout the contest. This was a purely athletic endeavor between two outstanding performers and the crowd ate it up. The champ retained after a Dragon Driver III, and the two shook hands after.

Winner: MYSTIC Dragon

Rating: 50

The makeshift duo of Atherton and Diablo made their way out first, Jamie's face covered with a look of sheer determination. KC Glenn then came out alone, mocking Jamie his entire way to the ring. Once he got in the ring the lights went out, and a series of simple pyros went off at the entrance before the lights came back on and Torch Nakazawa walked through the curtains to join KC as his partner in the main event!

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/JamieAtherton_alt.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/ElDiablo.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/_BlankBackground2.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/KCGlenn_alt.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/TorchNakazawa.jpg

Jamie Atherton & El Diablo vs. KC Glenn & Torch Nakazawa

For all the good will and respect that was displayed in the last match, this had all the elements of a blood feud. Atherton looked like a man possessed trying to get at KC, and when they were in the ring together Jamie did everything in his abilities to dismantle his former partner. Diablo and Nakazawa both did their parts in the match, but you could tell they had not problem letting the two bitter rivals go after each other. KC tried to take advantage of Jamie's rage, hoping to catch him after a sloppy strike or a misplayed grapple, but Atherton made no such mistakes, and was almost clinical in his attacks. Jamie had KC almost finished when he tagged Diablo in for a breather. The former champ struggled though, and allowed a tag to a fresh Nakazawa who quickly took over the contest. All four men eventually started brawling, it was with this distraction that allowed Torch to strike Diablo with a low blow, and while Glenn and Atherton tore each other apart outside, Torch was able to roll up for the win!

Winner: KC Glenn & Torch Nakazawa

Well, I'm not dead yet! Might as well throw another show out there for you guys. Here's the card for March.

ACPW Monthly Mayhem

Windsor Arena Hall, Ontario

Afasa Fierce vs. Alistair Shufflebottom

Fierce held true to his new namesake beating Mr. Lucha III last month, and looks to build off of that win this month while taking on JVP's protege.

California Love Machine & Frankie-Boy Fernandes, The California Kings vs. Dermott Ayres & Marc Raisin, The Montreal Mafia

The California Kings are riding high following two straight victories and hope a win here would put them in line for a tag title shot. The Mafia however will look to pick up a win in their first match of 2012.

Simon Flemmingway vs. Sky King vs. Joey Beauchamp

All three competitors in this contest fell short in their last match and have yet to make their way onto a card this year. You have to believe that all three will bring their 'A' game here in an attempt to get some momentum going.

Jamie Atherton vs. Remmy Skye

Two of the top faces in the company will square off for the first time in what should be a fantastic match. Both faced tough losses last month, so a bounce-back win would be key for either man as a slump could be extremely harmful to future title contention.

Number One Contender Match

KC Glenn vs. Torch Nakazawa

Winners of last month's main event and the best match in company history, the once partners will now face off one-on-one to determine who will get a shot at champion Jayson Van Pelt. Both of these fantastic athletes made a name for themselves over the last year thanks to some less-than-scrupulous actions, so it will be interesting to see if either or both of them will try to bend the rules to get a shot at the top prize in the company.

El Diablo vs. UK Dragon

Coming off of last month's main event where he fell victim to the unsavory action of Torch Nakazawa, the fury of the former Junior Heavyweight champion has started to take off once again. Feeling slighted by yet another “invader”, Diablo has demanded the head of any non-ACPW original, and we were actually able to find someone to answer his challenge. March's main event will feature the first time match up of El Diablo versus the UK Dragon!

Afasa Fierce vs. Alistair Shufflebottom

Fierce beat Mr. Lucha III, and I'd consider Alistair to be a step down in competition.

California Love Machine & Frankie-Boy Fernandes, The California Kings vs. Dermott Ayres & Marc Raisin, The Montreal Mafia

I think this match is pretty straightforward.

Simon Flemmingway vs. Sky King vs. Joey Beauchamp

Sky King is king.

Jamie Atherton vs. Remmy Skye

Tough call, but I'll take Atherton here.

KC Glenn vs. Torch Nakazawa

Torch isn't bad by any means, but KC Glenn is the future.

El Diablo vs. UK Dragon

Could go either way, but I think Diablo is more of ACPW guy.

Afasa Fierce vs. Alistair Shufflebottom

Unless you've worked miracles Alistair kinda sucks

California Love Machine & Frankie-Boy Fernandes, The California Kings vs. Dermott Ayres & Marc Raisin, The Montreal Mafia

I like CLM and Frankie-Boy but The Mafia deserve a couple of good victories as they're a solid team

Simon Flemmingway vs. Sky King vs. Joey Beauchamp

Beauchamp's an excellent worker for a company ACPW's size, and deserves a main-event run

Jamie Atherton vs. Remmy Skye

Just to keep things opposite from Tiberious

KC Glenn vs. Torch Nakazawa

KC is definitely the better worker, but he doesn't stay long

El Diablo vs. UK Dragon

I agree with Tiberious on this one

Afasa Fierce vs. Alistair Shufflebottom

new name means push

California Love Machine & Frankie-Boy Fernandes, The California Kings vs. Dermott Ayres & Marc Raisin, The Montreal Mafia

Cali boys heading to the title

Simon Flemmingway vs. Sky King vs. Joey Beauchamp

Id love to back Joey but hes not over in Canada

Jamie Atherton vs. Remmy Skye

Tough choice. Ill take the indie legend over the ACPW star

KC Glenn vs. Torch Nakazawa

I just know him better

El Diablo vs. UK Dragon

Like Joey - Dragon doesnt have the pop in Canada and his busy schedule makes him a tough push

Afasa Fierce vs. Alistair Shufflebottom

Coming off of consecutive tag losses, Alistair tried to get something in the win column in a singles match while his mentor looked on. Unfortunately all the coaching couldn't help him as the fiery Afasa Fierce steamrolled him for the easy win.

Winner: Afasa Fierce

Rating: 35

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/CaliforniaLoveMachine.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/Frankie-BoyFernandes.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/_BlankBackground2.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/DermottAyres.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/MarcRaisin.jpg

The California Kings vs. The Montreal Mafia

The Montreal Mafia tried to use their technical ability to slow down the talented Californian flyers, and when that failed they quickly transitioned to devious means. Marc distracted the referee while Ayres took a swing at Frankie with the team's trademarked Quebec flag but missed, leaving him open for a Dirt Nap! CLM took out Marc and the referee counted to three, giving the California King the victory!

Winner: The California Kings

Rating: 36

Simon Flemmingway vs. Sky King vs. Joey Beauchamp

An interesting blend of styles, Simon brought his traditional Japanese abilities while Beauchamp demonstrated a hybrid British style, and King showed off his pure aerial prowess. All three men brought it though, and the crowd was treated to a very exciting match. The crafty veteran Sky King stole the victory when he countered a Flemmingway submission into a roll-up and grabbed a handful of tights for added measure.

Winner: Sky King

Rating: 48

Jamie Atherton vs. Remmy Skye

The match of the night, the crowd ate up every single second of this match. You could tell throughout the contest that Jamie has ascended to another level through his feud with KC Glenn. A new level of intensity was on display, and it gave Jamie the edge in the contest. Remmy mounted a comeback, and had Atherton ready for the Skye Diver, but Jamie moved and took him out with a White Lightning for the huge win.

Winner: Jamie Atherton

Rating: 52

Number One Contenders Match

KC Glenn vs. Torch Nakazawa

A result of last week's main event saw two of the fastest rising stars in ACPW going one-on-one to determine who would get a shot at Jayson Van Pelt's title. And while the two men gave it their all there was a noticeable chemistry issue that brought the match down from where it probably should have been. KC Glenn looked like he was going to continue to roll through another opponent when Jamie Atherton ran out from the back. Jamie never actually touched KC, but provided enough of a distraction that Torch was able to attack from behind, and finish him with a twisting plancha to shock everyone with the upset win.

Winner: Torch Nakazawa

Rating: 43

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/ElDiablo.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/_BlankBackground2.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/UKDragon.jpg

El Diablo vs. UK Dragon

Diablo came out with a chip on his shoulder from his cheap shot during last month's main event, and he took all of his frustrations out on Dragon. Unfortunately for him though, UK didn't bend to his will like prior opponents who were assaulted by Diablo. These two went all out and the crowd came to life as it went on. A failed Dragon Drop left UK vulnerable, and Diablo moved in for the kill. A Diablo Driver II and the former champion got the three count for the big win to end the show.

Winner: El Diablo

Rating: 50

Show Rating: 48

Predictions:

Tiberious4 5/6

Thanks for still having interest in this guys, it's been so long since I've done this and I didn't leave any notes so it's been almost a game in itself piecing together where storylines and particular bookings were going haha

Following the controversial finish of his match last month, KC Glenn has been on a warpath through the ACPW offices, demanding a shot at champion Jayson Van Pelt. Despite the method he went about voicing his displeasure, he does have a valid argument in regards to how the number one contender match ended. Combine that with Mario da Silva's persistent requests to get a title shot, and ACPW management felt it best to hold a tournament to determine a true number one contender. Points were made by all of the top talent on the roster, and in the end a field of eight was agreed upon, including:

Torch Nakazawa

KC Glenn

Mario da Silva

Jamie Atherton

El Diablo

Remmy Skye

UK Dragon

Insane Machine

And on top of those eight fighting it out to determine who will face Jayson Van Pelt for the Junior Heavyweight Championship, we'll also see the Tag Team Championship on the line as The Canadian Blondes put their belts on the line against the red hot California Kings!

Expect more participants for the Mid-Summer Classic to be announced as well, and this has all the makings of a can't miss classic!

Block A

Torch Nakazawa vs. Insane Machine

Machine's an obvious choice, so I'm rooting against him

Jamie Atherton vs. El Diablo

Like him more

Block B

KC Glenn vs. UK Dragon

Even if pushing Glenn increases the risk of him getting snapped up you can't not use him here

Remmy Skye vs. Mario da Silva

Never been fond of Remmy's dodgy fundamenta;s

ACPW Tag Team Championship Match

Oscar Golden & Huey Cannonball, The Canadian Blondes vs. California Love Machine & Frankie-Boy Fernandes, The California Kings

Just a guess, really

Torch Nakazawa vs. El Diablo

My feeling is that the final should feature at least one ACPW diehard

KC Glenn vs. Mario Da Silva

Again, it's hard to justify not pushing Glenn here

I'm assuming the tournament final will also happen on this one, and I'm gonna pick out KC Glenn for that.
