Insane showed why promotions across the globe are clamoring for his services, but the dastardly Nakazawa had a couple of tricks up his sleeve that Machine had no answer for including ripping and tearing at Insane's mask. Distracted by the large tear in the mask, Machine quickly became focused on keeping his identity concealed allowing Torch to get a quick roll up to advance to the next round.</p><p> <strong>Winner: Torch Nakazawa</strong></p><p><strong> Rating: </strong><strong><span style="color:#A0522D;">42</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/JamieAtherton_alt.jpg</span><span>http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/_BlankBackground2.jpg</span><span>http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/ElDiablo.jpg</span></p><p> <strong>Jamie Atherton vs. El Diablo</strong></p><p> Two ACPW Originals and occasional partners that have mutual respect for each other, Atherton and Diablo went all out in attempt to secure a title shot against JVP. No shenanigans or foul play was present in this one, and at the end of a hard fought contest it was a White Lightning from Atherton that secured the victory. The two shook hands afterwords and Diablo even raised his opponent's hand in a sign of respect.</p><p> <strong>Winner: Jamie Atherton</strong></p><p><strong> Rating: </strong><strong><span style="color:#A0522D;">49</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <em>Block B</em></p><p> <span>http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/KCGlenn_alt.jpg</span><span>http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/_BlankBackground2.jpg</span><span>http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/UKDragon.jpg</span></p><p> <strong>KC Glenn vs. UK Dragon</strong></p><p> Unbelievable. KC Glenn came into wrestling with all the hype in the world surrounding him, and not only does he live up to it, he's blown past it month after month. In yet another match of the year candidate, Glenn showed everyone in attendance why he is the real deal as he and UK Dragon tore the house down in an incredible back and forth affair. As hard as he tried, UK learned that hard way that once The Sunshine Band is tuned up, no one gets an encore.</p><p> <strong>Winner: KC Glenn</strong></p><p><strong> Rating: </strong><strong><span style="color:#FF8C00;">58</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/RemmySkye.jpg</span><span>http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/_BlankBackground2.jpg</span><span>http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/MariodaSilva.jpg</span></p><p> <strong>Remmy Skye vs. Mario da Silva</strong></p><p> This was Remmy and Mario's third meeting in as many years, and you could sense the simmering tension between the two. Mario immediately tried to play mind games with Remmy by going over the arm that Mario so badly damaged in their last contest, but Remmy showed the guts and determination that once made him an ACPW champ. Using his speed to counter to unending barrage of submissions, Remmy eventually took control of the match with a beautiful headscissor takedown and finished off his old foe with a Skye Diver.</p><p> <strong>Winner: Remmy Skye</strong></p><p><strong> Rating: </strong><strong><span style="color:#A0522D;">45</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> As the crowd returned from intermission the lights dimmed and a video package played on the screens above the entrance ramp. The video ran through the teams already announced for the Mid-Summer Classic, showing highlights of them in their home promotions and listing their accomplishments. The video then goes dark momentarily before the screen starts flashing through new highlights as it runs down the next six teams to enter into the first ever Mid-Summer Classic. The champs heeled it up throughout the contest, but the challengers persevered through the underhanded tactics. Unfortunately the champs were just too much, cheating or not, and a Cannonball Run to Frankie ended the Kings' quest for gold short of their goal.</p><p> <strong>Winner: The Canadian Blondes</strong></p><p><strong> Rating: </strong><strong><span style="color:#A0522D;">46</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/TorchNakazawa.jpg</span><span>http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/_BlankBackground2.jpg</span><span>http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/JamieAtherton_alt.jpg</span></p><p> <strong>Torch Nakazawa vs. Jamie Atherton</strong></p><p> One of the most evenly matched contests in ACPW history, these two went hold for hold and blow for blow with neither man gaining a discernible advantage at any point. These two went back and forth with the crowd eating it up, but no one was able to take over the match. As the workers fight it out in the ring the time keeper and an ACPW official are seen in heavy discussion ringside when suddenly the time keeper rings the bell. Both wrestlers as well as the ref look quizzically at the time keeper's table when it's announced the match has been called a draw due to time constraints as a collective shock washes over everyone in attendance. </p><p> <strong>Time Limit Draw</strong></p><p><strong> Rating: </strong><strong><span style="color:#A0522D;">46</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/KCGlenn_alt.jpg</span><span>http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/_BlankBackground2.jpg</span><span>http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/RemmySkye.jpg</span></p><p> <strong>KC Glenn vs. Remmy Skye</strong></p><p> The main event and second of our semi-finals definitely lived up to the hype. Glenn raised his superstar profile in this one with yet another phenomenal performance while Remmy showed the skill and flair that has earned him multiple titles already in his career. The crowd heated up following the deflating finish of the last match, and by the halfway point were all on their feet. <strong>Statement Regarding Nakazawa/Atherton Match</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:</strong></p><p>

Tuesday, Week 2, April 2012</p><p> </p><p>

ACPW would first off like to thank all the fans who were in attendance last night, those who were were fortunate enough to witness not only two of the best matches in our company's history, but also were on hand for a moment we felt the need to clear up.</p><p> </p><p>

The semi-final contest between Torch Nakazawa and Jamie Atherton came to an abrupt halt when ACPW officials and time keeper convened and deemed it necessary to end the match as a draw due to time constraints. In reality, there are time limits we must adhere to for our shows, and given the back and forth nature of the match we were concerned with the notion of running out of time for KC and Remmy's match.</p><p> </p><p>

Neither man did anything wrong, and shouldn't be punished for their fantastic display of athleticism, so that's why ACPW management has decided to allow both Jamie and Torch to join KC Glenn in the finals for what will now be a <strong>three way dance</strong> to determine the number one contender for the Junior Heavyweight Championship!</p><p> </p><p>

We'd like to thank all of you for you continuing support of ACPW and hope to see you Monday, Week 2, May 2012 for the next to last Monthly Mayhem before the Mid-Summer Classic!</p></div><p></p><p></p>

<p>(OOC: Got a lot accomplished tonight, sorry for the triple post but here's May's card!)</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">ACPW Monthly Mayhem</span></strong></p><p><strong>

Windsor Arena Hall, Ontario</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Alistair Shufflebottom vs. Kirk Drury</strong></p><p>

Given his shortcomings in his recent matches, Alistair felt he was in over his head and has backed off of his lofty challenges, instead electing to take on ACPW Original Kirk Drury. Kirk got word that he is being looked at as a “step down”, and has promised to make Alistair regret his decision.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>ACPW Tag Team Championship Number One Contender Match</em></p><p>

<strong>Dermott Ayres & Marc Raisin,</strong> <em>The Montreal Mafia</em> <strong>vs. Dragon Del Arco Iris Jr & Extraordinario Jr,</strong> <em>Los Luchas</em></p><p>

Both of these teams will be involved in trios in the Mid-Summer Classic, and will look to build some momentum going into the tournament with a win in this match. As an added incentive, Oscar Golden reached out to us and said that “out of the goodness of his golden heart”, the winner of this match will get to face the Canadian Blondes next month for the tag titles.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Afasa Fierce vs. Simon Flemmingway</strong></p><p>

Since rebranding himself as “Afasa Fierce”, the former ADB has picked up consecutive wins, and looks to keep things rolling against his toughest challenge yet against the internationally renowned submission expert.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>ACPW Regional Championship Match</em></p><p>

<strong>MYSTIC Dragon vs. Sky King</strong></p><p>

Champion MYSTIC Dragon has taken the last couple of months off, and from what we've heard, he is more focused and ready than ever for his next challenge. Sky King is coming off a solid win over Flemmingway and Beauchamp in March. The ACPW Original will look to win his first title and end MYSTIC's reign far short of Mario's historic run.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Non-title Match</em></p><p>

<strong>Jayson Van Pelt vs. Joey Beauchamp</strong></p><p>

Having the last couple of months off from singles action, champion JVP issued an open challenge as a tune-up match leading into his title defense next month. UK superstar Joey Beauchamp quickly stepped up to the plate, and will look to make a name for himself with a win over the champ.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>ACPW Regional Championship Number One Contender Match</em></p><p>

<strong>El Diablo vs. Remmy Skye</strong></p><p>

Two former Junior Heavyweight champs will go head-to-head one more time looking to get back in the win column after falling short in the tournament last month. We've discussed it and decided that given the pedigree of talent and title lineage of the workers involved, the winner will earn the right to compete for the Regional Championship next month.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>ACPW Junior Heavyweight Championship Number One Contender Match</em></p><p>

<strong>Jamie Atherton vs. KC Glenn vs. Torch Nakazawa</strong></p><p>

The finals of last month's tournament, which will now be a three way dance with the first person to score a pinfall getting the shot at JVP next month. All three men involved have seen drastic rises in their stock recently, and they'll be looking to cash in and ascend to the next level by winning this match and possibly becoming only the fourth Junior Heavyweight champion.</p>

ACPW Monthly Mayhem

Monday, Week 2, May 2012

Windsor Arena Hall, Ontario

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/AlistairShufflebottom.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/_BlankBackground2.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/KirkDrury.jpg

Alistair Shufflebottom vs. Kirk Drury

Without the help of JVP, the still green Shufflebottom looked sort of lost in the ring. Drury came out with some fire and ended a poor match quickly with an arm bar for the submission victory.

Winner: Kirk Drury

Rating: 23

ACPW Tag Team Championship Number One Contender Match

The Montreal Mafia vs. Los Luchas

Despite Los Luchas not being in ACPW yet this year, they've been getting steady work back home and came into this match ready to go. Their sheer talent advantage overwhelmed the Mafia, and Dragon picked up the win.

Winner: Los Luchas

Rating: 36

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/ArthurDexterBradley.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/_BlankBackground2.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/FlemmyLemming.jpg

Afasa Fierce vs. Simon Flemmingway

Despite it being the toughest of his challenges to date, Fierce still looked extremely dangerous, and managed to control the pace of the match from beginning to end. Simon made a brief comeback, and tried to hit a Suicide Solution, but Afasa shoved him off mid-flip and dropped him with the Samoan Spike DDT.

Winner: Afasa Fierce

Rating: 44

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/ACPW_Canadian.jpg

ACPW Regional Championship Match

MYSTIC Dragon vs. Sky King

King continues to play up his bitter veteran gimmick, trying to use all the “tricks of the trade” to try to take the advantage of the obviously superior MYSTIC Dragon. Unfortunately for him, all the cheating in the world couldn't help him survive a Dragon Driver III as the champion retained his belt.

Winner: MYSTIC Dragon

Rating: 47

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/JaysonVanPelt.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/_BlankBackground2.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/JoeyBeauchamp.jpg

Non-title Match

Jayson Van Pelt vs. Joey Beauchamp

A disappointing match between two fantastic talents, you could tell JVP was a little rusty having not had a singles match yet this year. The breeze worked the crowd well, playing up his heel nature and mouthing off to the front row whenever he could. JVP took advantage of these moments to regain his composure, and dropped Beauchamp with an Axe Kick to end the contest.

Winner: Jayson Van Pelt

Rating: 41

ACPW Regional Championship Number One Contender Match

El Diablo vs. Remmy Skye

You could tell Diablo was focused coming into this one, and that he has never forgiven Remmy for ending his Junior Heavyweight title reign. The rubber match between these two, Diablo brought much more intensity and after a Diablo Driver II, he was able to finally able to exorcise some the demons of his past.

Winner: El Diablo

Rating: 51

ACPW Junior Heavyweight Championship Number One Contender Match

Jamie Atherton vs. KC Glenn vs. Torch Nakazawa

The main event had all the buzz of a big time event, and all three men brought their “A” game, instantly transforming this into one of the most historic matches in ACPW history. There was an electricity in the building, with a palpable tension present as soon as the bell rang. An extended three-way stare down started the contest before Torch eventually jumped Glenn to get the action started. The hot crowd really helped this match from flat-lining, but there was also fantastic ring work from each of the contestants that kept them on the edge of their seats including two-on-one spots, springboards to the outside, and more nearfalls than you could keep track of. As the action reached a fevered pace, it truly felt like it was anyone's match to win with finishers being traded amongst the three workers. KC looked to have finished off Torch when he Tuned up the Sunshine Band and nearly took his head off with a vicious boot right to the jaw, but Atherton managed to dive in and break up the cover before the referee got to a three count. The two then proceeded to take their brawling outside the ring, throwing chops and jabs back and forth, neither man giving up an inch of ground in spite of the physical toll that he was absorbing. Unbeknownst to them however, Torch was getting to his feet inside the ring. After taking a second to gather himself, he took to the air with a beautiful springboard plancha in the direction of the two fighting outside. Somehow Jamie was able to back off at the last second and Torch flew right into KC Glenn, driving him through the ringside barricade and knocking him out cold. Jamie took advantage of this situation by rolling a physically depleted Nakazawa into the ring, hoisting him up, and dropping him with a White Lighting! He slowly hooked the leg, and with KC unconscious outside the ring, there was no one to stop fate! Jamie Atherton was named the winner and number one contender to Jayson Van Pelt's Junior Heavyweight Championship! The crowd erupted like never before, and every single fan was on their feet celebrating what will surely go down as a watershed moment in ACPW history to end a fantastic show!

Winner: Jamie Atherton

A Look Ahead to the Mid-Summer Classic

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Monday, Week 3, May 2012

For the last five months, we've sporadically divulged information about what should stand as one of the largest tournaments in wrestling history, known simply as the Mid-Summer Classic. The field will consist of twenty six trios from across the world, all vying for not only bragging rights, but also the guaranteed title shots that come with winning it all. Nineteen of the twenty six teams have been revealed, so at the time we'd like to announce the final group of teams, give you a taste of each squad, and explain the tournament format in detail. Without further ado, here are the remaining seven teams rounding out the Mid-Summer Classic.

Coming over from Europe, The Super Friends, Super Falcon, Inky the Squid Boy, and Wonder Boy

Representing Australia's RAW, Isaac Taylor, Heath Murdock, and Horton Ravenwood

Three of the most exciting joshi talents in the business today, Etsuko Arihyoshi, Gemmei Oonishi, and Fuyuko Higa

A trio of former champions within ACPW, Mario da Silva and The Nest of Vipers, Mimic and Dagger

Sergei Kalashnov, Roberto Milano, and Gianfranco Morelli, three of the most extravagant personalities in wrestling will represent EWA.

Coming over from the big boys in British Columbia, CGC, Stevie Grayson, Thrill Seeker, and Warren Technique

And finally, three of the best workers from the United States, KC Glenn, Mikey James, and Jonathan "Hell Monkey" Pathlow

Coming up: A look at all seventy eight of the participants...

Jayson Van Pelt, Huey Cannonball, and Ozzie Golden

The "Golden Trio", champions JVP and the Canadian Blondes all have title defenses on our June show leading up to the Mid-Summer Classic so none of them could hold belts by the time the tournament rolls around, but given both of their reigns so far, you like their chances of retaining and gathering momentum heading into the tournament.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/MariodaSilva.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/Mimic.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/Dagger.jpg

Mario da Silva, Mimic, and Dagger

Former Regional and Tag Team champions combine for this dangerous trio as the Brazilian MMA star and The Nest of Vipers will look to make a deep run and retain their former glory.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/ElDiablo.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/JamieAtherton_alt.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/SkyKing.jpg

El Diablo, Jamie Atherton, and Sky King

Since losing the Junior Heavyweight title in the 2010 opener, Diablo has been on a warpath against the "invaders" of ACPW. Over time he aligned himself with Atherton and his war with foreigner KC Glenn, and most recently he recruited bitter ACPW original Sky King to form the trio known simply as "Vanguard". Moreso than the title shots, these three will look to reclaim the glory of ACPW from the outside squads.

Kirk Drury, Dermott Ayres, and Marc Raisin

A trio of ACPW youth talent, this tournament appears to be more about learning and gaining experience than winning ultimate glory for the young submissionist and The Montreal Mafia.

Stevie Grayson, Thrill Seeker, and Warren Technique

Three talents from CGC with no connection or history, they'll look to claim the tournament in the great name of the DeColts. Interestingly, Thrill Seeker is the only Canadian representing one of the top promotions in the north.

Antonio Del Veccio, Nathaniel Ca$ino, and Rajah

An Italian mafioso, a gambler, and a tough as nails street king make up the interesting trio coming over from our friends in 4C. Antonio and Rajah both have reigns as 4C Hardcore Champion, so the refs might have their hands full keeping these bad apples in line.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/JoshJones.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/KamikazeChristianVars.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/TempestAppleby.jpg

Josh Jones, Kamikaze Christian Vars, and Tempest Appleby

Three of the best pure aerial talents in Canada, the relatively new workers of Jones and Vars will look toward the veteran Appleby for some guidance as all three get their first shot at glory.

Remmy Skye, California Love Machine, and Frankie-Boy Fernandes

The former Junior Heavyweight champ and former CZCW Triple Crown holder joins one of the top tag teams in ACPW. A tournament win puts Skye in position to become the first multi-time Junior Heavyweight champion.

Insane Machine, Masked Cougar, and Snap Dragon

Another trio that have made their way from CZCW, Machine and Dragon are both Triple Crown, though none of them have had any substantial success in ACPW yet.

Afasa Fierce, Kid Toma, and Mainstream Hernandez

One of the most star-studded teams in the tournament, the white-hot Afasa Fierce joins family member and former SWF star Kid Toma, as well as one of the best pure talents in North America, Canadian James "Mainstream" Hernandez. A group that should be one of the favorites to win it all comes to us courtesy of FCW.

KC Glenn, Mikey James, and Jonathan "Hell Monkey" Pathlow

KC Glenn has been everything promised and more since he debuted in ACPW in October of 2010. Unfortunately for him a shot at the Junior Heavyweight Championship is the only thing that's alluded him during his time in the company. He looks to remedy this by assembling a terrifying squad of some of the best workers in America, former TCW star Mike James and international sensation Hell Monkey, coming to ACPW sans mask under his birth name Jonathan Pathlow.

Alicia Strong, Cherry Bomb, and Joanne Rodriguez

One of two female trios joining the tournament, these three are coming over from the CWWF to mark the debut of a feminine presence within ACPW. Alicia is typically worth the price of admission alone, showing all the genetics of Sam and training of Ogiwara, but is instead just one of seventy eight workers vying for a shot at the Junior Heavyweight Championship.

Mr. Lucha III, Dragon Del Arco Iris Jr, and Extraordinario Jr

The bloodlines of this group all trace back to the glory days of OLLIE, with their fathers(or uncle in Lucha's case) all making their masks well known in the 70s and 80s. Dragon and Extra could come into this tournament with the Tag Team straps if they take down Canadian Blondes on our June show.

Amazing Fire Fly, El Heroe Mexicano, and Gino Montero

Another group coming up from Mexico, these three are a glimpse into the future of lucha libre. All under the age of twenty five, trained by the likes of Champagne Lover, Axxis Jr, and Luis Montero, there's talk of all three becoming World Champion-caliber talent.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/AdamMatravers.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/JoeyBeauchamp.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/UKDragon.jpg

Adam Matravers, Joey Beauchamp, and UK Dragon

Three of the most respected talents in the United Kingdom, Matravers is making his much-anticipated North American debut for this tournament. Neither Beauchamp or Dragon have had major success in ACPW, but they have definitely shown the talent that have gained them worldwide acclaim.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/JoeSimpson.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/MichaelX.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/RickyStorm.jpg

Joe Simpson, Michael X, and Ricky Storm

The National School of Wrestling opened in 2009 and has since turned out some fantastic young talent thanks to head trainer Adam Matravers. Three of their high-flying graduates will make their way over with their teacher as they gain a taste of wrestling outside of their homeland for the first time in their brief careers.

Billy Robinson, Jon Michael Sharp, and Martin Heath

“The Parasite” makes his way across the pond with a pair of RoF homegrown talents in the young duo of Sharp and Heath all looking for the first success in North America. They'll be looking to combine Billy's submission skills with the youngster's aerial ability to go deep in the tourney.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/MatthewMacks.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/WildChild.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/JasperJanuary.jpg

Matthew Macks, Wild Child, and Jasper January

Three talented high-flyers from the relatively new European promotion VWA that started a few months prior to ACPW, the most interesting dynamic of the tournament could be this team, as Macks and Wild Child have a long-running feud dating back to their first appearance in VWA.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/FrankDePain.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/RuudVanAnger.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/RonnydeVeuster.jpg

Frank De Pain, Ruud Van Anger, and Ronny de Veuster

Frank and Ruud have been tagging together for close to a decade now as Double Dutch, winning five different tag team championships between UCR and their current promotion, EWA. Their trio will be rounded out by another Dutch athlete within EWA, youngster Ronny de Veuster.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/SergeiKalashnov.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/GianfrancoMorelli.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/RobertoMilano.jpg

Sergei Kalashnov, Gianfranco Morelli, and Roberto Milano

Another trio from the EWA, these three look to be the most vibrant collection of personalities in the tournament as “The Fresh Prince of Belarus” teams up with “The Fashionistas” out of Italy. Kalashnov is the reigning EWA Universal Champion, and will look to bring honor to that belt as he comes to North America for the first time.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/SuperFalcon.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/WonderBoy.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/InkyTheSquid.jpg

Super Falcon, Wonder Boy, and Inky the Squid Boy

Three of the former members of the Super Crew squad that were famous for their run in UCR, the international trio come to ACPW looking to rid the promotion of evil-doers while possibly earning themselves a shot at the Junior Heavyweight Championship.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/HalloweenKnight.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/Necromancer.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/Cyanide.jpg

Halloween Knight, Necromancer, and Cyanide

The founder of ZEN and two of his FEAR running mates, the black-and-white trio will be without their muscle, as Massacre will not be making the trip with the rest of the stable. Knight and Necro have both held the ZEN Master title, while Cyanide has been a Conceptual champion.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/IsaacTaylor.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/HeathMurdock.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/HortonRavenwood.jpg

Isaac Taylor, Heath Murdock, and Horton Ravenwood

The Rockin' Rasta joins up with the two-time RAW Tag Team Champions, the vibrant Heath Murdock and the rock solid Horton Ravenwood. These three are coming from the land down under to wash away all the criticism launched at the workrate and talent of RAW by winning it all and going back home with ACPW gold.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/TorchNakazawa.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/KazumaNarato.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/BurningExile.jpg

Torch Nakazawa, Kazuma Narato, and Burning EXILE

The first of three Japanese trios, our heel trio is headed up by ACPW standout Torch Nakazawa, and he'll be joined by former TCW tag champion Kazuma Narato and the most controversial worker in Japan, a man who's held titles in Burning Hammer and World Level Wrestling, Burning EXILE.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/MysticDragon.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/ReijiroHiraki.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/KenkoTakemitsu.jpg

Mystic Dragon, Reijiro Hiraki, and Kenko Takemitsu

The second group from Japan features the reigning ACPW Regional Champion Mystic Dragon, the man who did the unthinkable by ending Mario da Silva's historic two year reign. House of Stone alumni Kenko Takemitsu will make his Canadian return, and they'll be rounded out by Reijiro Hiraki who is still looking for his breakout chance here in ACPW.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/EtsukoArihyoshi.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/FuyukoHiga.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/GemmeiOonishi.jpg

Etsuko Arihyoshi, Fyuko Higa, and Gemmi Oonishi

And finally, the last group is our second female team and third squad from Japan. These three stand out as the faces of the next generation for 5SSW given the retirements of the likes of Thunder Hike and Sensational Ogiwara. Higa might be one of the most talented workers in the world today, regardless of gender, and will look to turn some heads and change peoples' mind about female wrestling.

A Note on Formatting for the Mid-Summer Classic

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Monday, Week 1, June 2012

The field is complete, the anticipation is building, and the buzz is growing on the Mid-Summer Classic all across the wrestling world. The only question now now is how will this once in a lifetime tournament be decided? With the nontraditional number of participants, we needed to find a different way to get from twenty six teams all the way down to one. We worked through a number of different scenarios, and after days of discussion have come down to a format everyone agreed with. That format is as follows:

-There will be two qualifying matches at the first of our two June shows to thin down the field from twenty six to twenty four. Four of the teams will be drawn at random to face off, the winners moving on to the true “first round” of the Classic at our second show in June. Any teams featuring wrestlers already booked on our first June date will be exempt from these matches.

-Our second June show, “ACPW Presents: The Mid-Summer Classic”, will feature the round of twenty four matches, the round of twelve matches, and the round of six matches.

-The three remaining teams will then compete in a round robin challenge at our July show, the winner of the round robin will be crowned champions of the Mid-Summer Classic, with each member of the trio getting a shot at the Junior Heavyweight Championship. A tie-breaker has been worked out and will be revealed if necessary in the event of a draw during the round robin stage.

ACPW Monthly Mayhem

Windsor Arena Hall, Ontario

Mid-Summer Classic Qualifier #1

??? vs ???

Mid-Summer Classic Qualifier #2

??? vs ???

ACPW Tag Team Championship Match

Oscar Golden & Huey Cannonball, The Canadian Blondes vs. Dragon Del Arco Iris Jr & Extraordinario Jr, Los Luchas

Los Luchas picked up an impressive win in the first ACPW match of 2012, and will now compete for the tag titles thanks to the champs who themselves added the title shot to that contest.

KC Glenn vs Torch Nakazawa

Every since May's main event, KC Glenn has been furious about the ending of the match. After getting “screwed” out of a title shot in March, KC feels he had May's three way dance won before Nakazawa took him out with an incredible aerial maneuver. While he won't get a shot at Van Pelt's title, he wants to get revenge on Nakwazawa for the past couple of months.

ACPW Junior Heavyweight Championship Match

Jayson Van Pelt vs. Jamie Atherton

Jamie Atherton is the poster boy of persistence and patience when it comes to a wrestling career. From the company's launch till the start of 2010 he established himself as one of the faces of ACPW. Unfortunately for him he managed to get passed by Van Pelt as the top ACPW Original over the course of 2010 until he won the tag titles in early 2011. He has since regained his form and now looks to climb back to the top of the mountain and win the Junior Heavyweight title for the first time while JVP, the longest reigning Junior Heavyweight champ to date, looks to continue what has already become a fantastic reign.

ACPW Regional Championship Match

MYSTIC Dragon vs. El Diablo

Diablo's pure hatred of the so called “invaders” led him to a victory against Remmy Skye last month, putting him in line to become Regional Champion, though the leader of Vanguard was overheard backstage saying that ending Dragon's career would mean more than any second-tier belt ever could. Can MYSTIC retain his title? And more over can he survive an assault from the ruthless, vicious former champion? The only way to know is by making your way to ACPW Monthly Mayhem!

ACPW Monthly Mayhem

Friday, Week 1, June 2012

Windsor Arena Hall, Ontario

The massive crowd packed into the Windsor Arena Hall and you could feel the energy as Daedalus Buchinsky made his way out from the back to a massive round of applause. He made his way into the ring and took a minute to soak it all in before grabbing a mic. Waiting inside the ring was a lottery-style tumbler with twenty different names inside it, of which four teams' fate will be decided in mere moments. As the cheers calmed down, Daed took to the mic and addressed the people.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/DaedalusBuchinsky.jpg

“Ladies and gentlemen, good evening and welcome to the opening night of the Mid-Summer Classic!”

A brief pause for an incredibly loud pop, and he continues.

“So, here in this little container we have the twenty teams not already booked tonight. I'm about to pull four of them to see who might not make it the the big show. Could we see a favorite like Team UK or Team FCW have to fight to keep their title hopes alive? Or maybe an underdog could take a win tonight and use it to build momentum as they try to take down some of the top dogs. One thing I know for sure is we should get on with it so you, our first sold out crowd in ACPW history, can experience some of the best wrestling in the world today!!!”

Another massive pop, and an Aye-Cee-Pee-Dub chant breaks out. The crowd is hot and ready for some action. Daed turns the handle on the tumbler a couple of times and grabs four slips of paper as the crowd calms down a little.

“Alright, alright, we have tonight's competitors! Our opening contest tonight will feature ACPW's own Kirk Drury and The Montreal Mafia taking on the trio of Josh Jones, Kamikaze Christian Vars, and Tempest Appleby!”

The crowd cheered for the home team and booed loudly for the other Canadian squad, and you quickly got a sense of where loyalties lied as the crowd got behind a trio featuring a historically heel pair.

“And our second match will be two teams all the way from Europe! The Super Crew will be taking on Triple Dutch! With that ladies and gentlemen, let's get on with the show!”

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/KirkDrury.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/DermottAyres.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/MarcRaisin.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/_BlankBackground2.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/JoshJones.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/KamikazeChristianVars.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/TempestAppleby.jpg

Mid-Summer Classic Qualifier #1

Kirk Drury, Dermott Ayres, & Marc Raisin vs Josh Jones, Kamikaze Christian Vars & Tempest Appleby

A solid opener, the ACPW team tried to use the technical ability of Drury and Ayres to slow down their opponents, but it failed as Jones was able to fly around and eventually picked up the pinfall after a Canadian Backdrop.

Winner: Josh Jones, Kamikaze Christian Vars, and Tempest Appleby

Rating: 35

Mid-Summer Classic Qualifier #2

Super Falcon, Wonder Boy, & Inky the Squid Boy vs Frank De Pain, Ruud Van Anger, & Ronny de Veuster

The masked trio really played up their superhero good guy characters, and seemed a little too wrapped up in playing up to the crowd than actually wrestling. The Dutch squad however were all business, and they made fairly quick work of their opponents.

Winner: Frank De Pain, Ruud Van Anger, & Ronny de Veuster

Rating: 29

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/ACPW_Tag.jpg

ACPW Tag Team Championship Match

The Canadian Blondes vs. Los Luchas

The Luchas looked as strong in this contest as they did last month, their time back home obviously working in their advantage. The Blondes were in trouble, as Extra was on the top rope about ready to finish of Oscar when a man in a plain gold mask jumped the barricade and pushed him off the top rope. A quick roll up and the champs managed to steal the victory as the masked man disappeared into the back.

Winner: The Canadian Blondes

Rating: 43

KC Glenn vs Torch Nakazawa

One word of advice: Don't make KC Glenn angry. Torch was playing with KC at the beginning of the match, mocking him and countering any offense without attacking. Already mad about getting “cheated” out of title shots, Glenn quickly got frustrated at being toyed with and broke through on the offensive. Pummeling blows and crushing drops lead the way as KC berated and talked down to Torch as he beat him senseless. He Tuned Up the Sunshine Band and eventually ended the suffering.

Winner: KC Glenn

Rating: 55

ACPW Junior Heavyweight Championship Match

Jayson Van Pelt vs. Jamie Atherton

To describe this match in one word? Underwhelming. The main event last month that set this up was a historic moment, and the match before this had a hot crowd that helped carry what was a largely one-sided affair. Giving JVP a quarter of a year off from singles matches probably wasnt a good idea, he still looks a little rusty. He was able to finish off Jamie with an Axe Kick, and added another defense to his reign.

Winner: Jayson Van Pelt

Rating: 47

ACPW Regional Championship Match

MYSTIC Dragon vs. El Diablo

Fortunately the crowd was able to rebound from the last match for what wound up being yet another fantastic main event. The passion and fight that both competitors brought had the sold out crowd completely absorbed in the action, cheering on the valiant efforts of the champion while booing the dastardly ploys of Diablo. Diablo briefly took the upper hand and took to mocking Dragon during this time, slapping him in the face and wiping his face paint off. Diablo hoisted him up for a Diablo Driver II but MYSTIC slipped out behind him and knocked him out cold with a spinning heel kick to the back of the head. A Dragon Driver III for good measure and the champ was able to retain!

Winner: MYSTIC Dragon

Rating: 55

The crowd all rose to their feet in support of the champ when Sky King ran out from the back and blindsided Dragon! Laying the boots to the downed champion, the crowd quickly started booing the gutless actions taken by the members of Vanguard, as Diablo slowly got to his feet, shaking out the cobwebs from the beating he took. MYSTIC's Mid-Summer Classic partner Reijiro Hiraki ran out from the back to a solid ovation, but he was merely able to stave off the onslaught for a few moments till Diablo and Sky gained momentum and fought him off. Unfortunately for the ACPW Originals they were quickly outnumbered when Kenko Takemitsu came out in support of his partners as the crowd errupted, and laid out both of their opponents. Realizing the gig was up, Diablo and Sky rolled out of the ring and quickly made their way to the back, allowing MYSTIC, Reijiro, and Kenko to regroup and stand victoriously in the middle of the ring to end the show.

A backstage moment with: Jamie Atherton, El Diablo and Sky King

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/JamieAtherton_alt.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/ElDiablo.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c267/fuelfan0102/TEW/SkyKing.jpg

Following the backfiring of their beatdown on MYSTIC Dragon, Diablo and King are backstage looking bitter and tending to their wounds. Jamie walks out a room down the hallway much to the shock of his partners. Diablo looks confused, but quickly pursues him.

“Jamie! Jamie, get the hell over here!”

Atherton stops on a dime and quickly looks backwards to see a fuming Diablo approaching him.

“Uh.. hey man? What's up?” Jamie asks, trying to calm down an obviously furious man with a history of rage issues.

“Where were you out there tonight?!? We had Dragon cornered when his boys came and jumped us! Why didn't you have our back? Last time I checked that's what partners do!” Diablo continued to berate Jamie as Sky moves next to the former champion, staring down the third member of their group.

“Hey, D, come on man... Didn't you see how my match went? When JVP dropped his boot right on the top of my head and knocked me out cold? I didn't 'have your backs' because I was getting checked out by the med staff. Is that okay with you?”

Realizing that he stepped in it a bit, Diablo looks over to Sky, who shrugs and nods slightly in approval, seemingly in acceptance of Jamie's story. He lets out an exasperated huff, scratches his head and tries to avoid eye contact.

“Well... I just wanted to make sure we're all on the same page man. The MSC is in a few weeks and if we want to make sure the Junior Heavyweight title stays in ACPW we need to be at the top of our game.”

Jamie, still a little worn out from his match, simply patted Diablo on the shoulder while shaking his head. “Yeah man... just chill out a little bit.”

And with that Atherton walked off, leaving Diablo and Sky to chit chat as the scene fades out.
