The Rebirth of OMEGA

It started with the combination of a youtube video(

) and a tweet. After Matt Hardy and Shane Helms brought up the possible revival of their pre-WWE promotion OMEGA, the internet began buzzing in confusion and anticipation. Would they keep the same name? Who would be on the roster? Would the Hardy Boys have their health in check in order to actually pull it off? What about Shane’s motorcycle injuries? These rumblings went on throughout June and July of 2011. The final week of July, Matt Hardy announced via Twitter that OMEGA was coming back.

 

Both Matt and Jeff are in perfect health and perfectly clean and ready to bring passion back to the wrestling world. Jeff Hardy spent most of June and July in a drug rehab clinic getting his act together unbeknownst to fans. He wouldn’t have to face jail time and has to do community service. So he’s able to take part in OMEGA. Many of their friends and former co workers were extremely unhappy in their current companies and asked for their releases. Since Shane isn’t able to compete quite yet, he’s joining Adam Copeland as co color commentator behind the announce desk with Joey Styles as announcer.

 

OMEGA was able to garner major internet buzz and was able to secure an iPPV deal with WWNlive.com. Their first event is scheduled for Saturday, August 6th, 2011 and it has been named Uncommon Passion.

 

Uncommon Passion is sure to start OMEGA off on the right foot. It features the first round of a tournament to crown the first OMEGA Heavyweight Champion of the new era. The first round matches are Fit Finlay taking on ‘The Natural’ Nick Nemeth, Jeff Hardy taking on Carlito Colon, Matt Hardy taking on Ron Killings, and ‘The Black Pope’ Elijah Burke taking on Low Ki.

 

The always exciting Light Heavyweight wrestlers are also going to fight over the OMEGA Light Heavyweight Championship in a death defying match featuring tables, ladders, and chairs. The six men taking part in this match are: Christopher Daniels, Gregory Trent, Jay Lethal, Jerry Lynn, Kris Croft, and Japanese legend Ultimo Dragon.

 

The OMEGA New Frontiers Championship will also be up for grabs in a fatal four way featuring Jimmy Yang, Kevin Thorn, Shannon Moore, and Trevor Holliday.

 

What would a promotion founded by the Hardy Boys be without a tag division? The first OMEGA Tag Team Champions will be crowned in a four team elimination style match featuring The Irish Airborne, The Long Island Express (Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder), The Young Bucks, and The Whole Shebang (Johnny Gargano & Matt Cross).

I don't expect many or any at all really since this is my first diary, but I'll still give it time just in case anyone wants to jump aboard in the beginning. :)

Also, in case anyone is interested in seeing the video that gave me the idea for this, its in the first post in the first sentence.

 


If anyone has any opinions on the artwork and what needs improving, let me know. I know the New Frontiers title is a little iffy, but by the time I got to it, I was sick of looking at belts.

 


I'm thinking of adding the Pay Per View schedule in the post with the championships. Good idea/bad idea/don't care?

The first show will be posted either late tonight or tomorrow when I wake up. Depends on how impatient I get :p

I decided I'm going to hold a contest with the predictions. Since I've booked 3 shows so far, the contest runs until Halloween Hell, the third pay per view.

 


Not really sure what other prizes I can offer other than:


-I will sign any worker the winner chooses as long as they're available and will work for me


-I will sign any tag team the winner chooses as long as they're available.

 


I added the tag team one, because well, The Hardys love tag team wrestling, so I figure that should be an option and it gives me a chance to do something new creatively.

 


If anyone has any suggestions on prizes, I'd love to hear them.
