Leaving tonight, tough luck to <strong>"The Aerialist" Taylor Kidd </strong>and <strong>Danny Dorado</strong>. You'll get your paychecks in the mail, but congratulations on making it this far. So, sorry to Blake Trask, but Danny Dorado has been eliminated. You'll be receiving a PM regarding stats for your character, as Danny will still find his way into the database.

The Survey is here, do your voting!

I plan on leaving the voting open until Sunday evening. I'm going to the Milwaukee Brewers game that day, and I'll type up segment 3 when I get back from there.

Alright, down to 6. Not just Boltinho and critical-23, but everyone will both get PMs from me regarding putting the eliminated workers into the database. Meanwhile, the survey link is below, and the next post will actually be the first USPW show. All of the remaining workers will be tentatively signed to USPW and then those that are eliminated in this vote will be released. The remaining workers after that who do not win will be sent to development.

American Wrestling will be up when I get everyone's characters in and finish writing it up, which I'm hoping to do by Thursday. Then the next segment of Spotlight Star Search will probably be up Friday.

December 10, 2009

I'd been watching the shows in the three weeks since Sam announced that I was going to take the reigns from Shane Sneer. Shane and I had worked together setting up the ideas that I had, and when we had our December booking meeting, there was only one snag that came up that we really had to address. Sam Strong wasted no time in tackling it either, as it was the first thing out of his mouth after I sat down.

Sam Strong: We need to turn T-Rex. The fans love this streak thing.

Shane Sneer: Fans get behind a guy who always wins sometimes. It's hard not to. As a country, we like to bet on a winner. So do we stop the streak and keep him a heel, or do we turn him?

I paused. This was something I noticed, the fans chanting "Streak! Streak! Streak!" during T-Rex's matches and counting along as the referee raised losers' hands as they passed out in the Jurassic Clutch. However, I'd had an idea a few weeks ago, and I thought it was pretty good.

Erik Strong: Guys, I actually had a thought. Why don't we just let the fans turn him themselves? He starts beating heels instead of faces and the fans cheer him harder. He comes to the ring to talk before his match and he gets the chants going. Can you imagine T-Rex out in the ring with a microphone in his huge hand grumbling "Streak! Streak! Streak!"? The fans will eat that up.

Sam laughed at this, probably thinking of T-Rex's voice shouting "Streak!" over and over in the middle of the ring. Shane smiled contemplatively, but he seemed to be onboard as well.

Sam: Alright, do it. I can't wait to see that on tv, the big meathead.

Erik: A face T-Rex opens up so many fantastic streak matches too. Bruce, Peter, Baine in the distant future.

Shane: Well I just assumed we'd split the Titans.

Erik: It's not necessary though, is it? I mean, I think Baine and Mustafa giving him that awkward "What the heck?" look while he shouts "Streak!" just makes it funnier and adds to the gimmick.

Sam: That'd be a good laugh, yeah. You got a tag team, the dark, brooding beast in Baine and the dominant jolly powerhouse in Rex. Sounds like a good time, kid.

Erik: Plus, you can throw them against any team in the company without huge alignment issues.

Shane: Yeah, that's a big plus and it'll help both of them. The other issue is the women's division, it's small. I'd like to bring in 2 more women to round it out a little.

Sam: Sounds good to me, but I don't know about the budget. Erik, what do you think?

Erik: With only four women on the roster, things will get stale quick and there's a couple of solid free agents it looks like. North of the Border cut Emma Bitch, we could probably repackage her slightly and bring her in as a heel, then find a cute girl the fans will love to bring in as a face and we're set. In terms of the budget, it might be able to wait until February if you want to bank some cash first, but it's something we should do.

Sam: Alright, we'll do it. If we get them to sign on the dotted line, we can throw 'em on house shows I guess. Shane, who've ya got in mind?

Shane: Well, Erik's right that Emma Bitch is a good talent. I say we get her, and maybe Amber Allen or Tamara McFly. Neither one has a ton of charisma off the bat, but they're not bad looking and they can definitely go in the ring, Tamara moreso, but she's working in BSC trying to make them more legit so she might not want to sign a written deal.

Sam: Well, I'll put out offers to Emma and Amber then. I was on the internet here, and it says Amber's only 20, so I think she's a great prospect. It's too bad we want her face, because she'd be a good foil for Alicia as they grow up.

Erik: No offense, sir, but Alicia outclasses Amber Allen in her sleep.

Sam: Well yeah, kid, that's why Alicia would win almost all the time. It's like the DeColts up in CGC, George knows how to book his kids.

I almost shook my head, but I knew better and decided to wait until I was out of the room. If there's one thing Sam Strong likes, it's his little girl, and his protoge Nicky Champion. I'm pretty sure I'm getting higher on that list, given that I got this job, but maybe I'm just good at it. I can hope it was skill at least, right?

Erik: Well, Amber has worked as a heel on some independents and she's done a fine job. If we bring in a few good faces among the women, turning her shouldn't be an issue.

Sam: Sounds good. Any more business this month?

Erik: Now that I think about it, what do we do with Chris next month? I was planning on him facing T-Rex for the streak.

Shane: Well, he's still going to be battling with Bruce in a game of one-upping each other. What if a triple threat match, Chris, Bruce and James?

Erik: It just doesn't feel right. Bruce taking on James doesn't entirely feel great either, but it gives them something to do for the month. What if Chris and Bruce each captained a team and they had a match, maybe four on four or something?

Sam: Gets more people some exposure. Not a bad call for our first pay-per-view. Do it.

Thinking that was it, Shane and I both got to our feet and started heading out. I was almost out the door when Sam's voice caught me.

Sam: Oh Erik, I almost forgot. Come back here a moment.

Uh oh, that sounds less than good. Well, I walked back and took a seat. The boss told me so.

Erik: Yeah?

Sam: I want you to pick out a booking team. Next month when we have this meeting, I don't want to just talk to you, kid. Plus, more input is never a bad thing. Get back to me by the beginning of the year. Now get outta here.

Coming back and sitting down just for that? I thought there'd be a little more. But hey, a booking team. That sounds interesting. I'll have to give that some thought.

OOC: Almost forgot I had one more back story post. It sets up a little bit of this and that, most specifically the T-Rex match and Titans promo on the next show. Estimated time frames remain the same.

Well, I said Thursday and its now Friday. I've been battling migraines and job interviews eating all my time, so I'm not gonna set a date for this to be up. Currently, I'm almost done putting all the user-submitted workers into the data, at which point I'll sign them, start the game, and officially run the show. As for writing it, I'm 2 segments in, and should be able to knock most of that out tomorrow. I may post it and fill in the ratings later if I have a writing drive but not a database editing drive.

The show opens with the usual USPW American Wrestling music video set to "Frontline" by Pillar and promoting the biggest workers of the company including James Justice, Bruce the Giant, Enygma, Tyson Baine, Chris Caulfield and Sam Strong, as well as up-and-comers Andre Jones and Nicky Champion.

Danny Jillefski: Ladies and gentlmen, for those who don't know me, my name is Danny Jillefski and I'm joined in the booth tonight by the living legend himself, an American Icon, Sam Strong.

Sam Strong: You got that right, Danny. I'm sitting here next to a great friend and commentator and tonight we've got an incredible show coming up with a huge main event, USPW World Champion Enygma taking on the USPW National Champion Peter Valentine, brothers!

Danny Jillefski: And here come The Titans down to the ring, led by Sheik Mustafa. And just listen to the fans, Sam.

Sam Strong: They really love that win streak that T-Rex has been on, and tonight he goes for number 23 against "The Demon of Rage" Anger.

http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/jtlant/SheikMustafa_alt1jt.jpghttp://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/J%20Silver/TysonBaine.jpghttp://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/ewanite/T-Rex.jpg

Striding out to the center of the ring, flanked by both Titans, is the veteran Sheik Mustafa, to chants of "Streak! Streak! Streak!" from the fans. Mustafa doesn't look happy with the chants, but T-Rex waves his arms up, firing up the fans and encouraging them. As Mustafa slides under the bottom rope and into the ring, both Baine and Rex step over the top and enter, Mustafa grabbing the microphone first.

Sheik Mustafa: Tonight, I am here with the Titans. "The Jurassic Power" T-Rex, and future USPW World Champion "The Monstrous Destroyer" Tyson Baine. First, you will hear from the Number One Contender. This is Tyson Baine.

Mustafa passes the microphone over to Baine who stares down the fans for a moment before speaking.

Tyson Baine: Tonight, I have for you few words. Enygma, we will meet at Stars, Stripes and Slams. I will defeat you at Stars, Stripes and Slams. And you will not walk away...from Stars, Stripes and Slams. Quoth Baine.

A chorus of boos pours in from the fans at Baine's words, and he passes the microphone back to Sheik Mustafa, who grimaces for a moment, before raising the microphone to his mouth.

Sheik Mustafa: And now...(Mustafa looks down and slowly shakes his head for a moment)...you will hear from "The Jurassic Power" T-Rex.

The fans pop for the monstrous man of destruction and before T-Rex even takes the microphone, the chants begin, "Streak! Streak! Streak!"

T-Rex: Streak! Streak! Streak!

The fans continue with the chant as we go to commerical, barely audible under the chants is the entrance music of former Demon of Rage, Anger.

Singles Streak Match

A dominating performance by T-Rex, no question there. In reality, just a squash, though Anger gets a little bit of offense in, a few right hands early in the match as he tries to get the upper hand, only for T-Rex to drive him into the mat with a massive boot as Anger came off the ropes, before pulling the former Demon of Rage back up and applying the Jurassic Crush (Swinging Full Nelson) for the submission win.

Winner: T-Rex by submission

Rating: 34

Sam Strong: That's some power in them arms. T-Rex is a force to be reckoned with in USPW.

Danny Jillefski: And he could be gunning for the World Championship soon, especially if his partner Tyson Baine doesn't bring it home. But next in line for a title shot is the dual number two contenders, Bruce the Giant and Chris Caulfield, and I understand they've agreed to a meeting in the back to discuss their situation.

Sam Strong: These two have been trading wins over the past few months, not to mention battling each other in just about any competition that you could imagine. Let's see what they've got cooked up.

http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x385/darrbot/ChrisCaulfield.jpghttp://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x385/darrbot/BrucetheGiant.jpg

Backstage, we see "The Hardcore American" Chris Caulfield and Bruce the Giant sitting across from each other at a rather plain wooden table. On the table are a series of papers, and Caulfield is looking one over.

Chris Caulfield: Look Bruce, we've gone through just about every fan submission to determine which of us is the best wrestler and we're about even. In fact, if you run the numbers, we are even.

Bruce the Giant: ...So?

Chris Caulfield: So at some point we're gonna have to face each other in the ring. Now I'm not gonna put my Number 1 Contender status on the line and neither are you, I know that.

Bruce the Giant: ...And?

Chris Caulfield: I wanna wrestle at Stars, Stripes and Slams, but I'm not gonna fight you. You're a big, dangerous man, and I know that, and I'm a wiley, high-impact veteran and if you don't know that, that's your loss. So rather than risk our eventual title shot, let's lessen the impact. I'll find 3 other guys, you find 3 other guys. Team Caulfield versus Team Bruce, we get to pound on each other a little, give these fans a show, and not get rusty before that title shot.

Bruce the Giant: Four on four? Get your team. I'll destroy them.

The man of few words, Bruce the Giant, climbs to his feet, towering over Caulfield who stands up to face the big man as well. After a moment of tension, Bruce turns and walks out of the room, Caulfield's eyes never leaving the Giant.

Rating: 71

Danny Jillefski: What a match for Stars, Stripes and Slams! Four on four, Team Caulfield versus Team Bruce.

Sam Strong: Who could these guys have in mind for partners though? You know Caulfield's got someone in mind because he made the challenge, but who will Bruce get?

Tag Team Championship Match::Standard Tag Team Match

A solid back-and-forth match where everyone got their own offense in, but the biggest story of the match was another loss for the Corporation, who seem to be struggling without Shane Sneer to lead them. In the end, it takes two Quarterback Sacks from Des Davids, one for each member of The Towers of Power, but Mick Muscles eats the pinfall following the Spear off the second rope.

Winner: The People's Team by pinfall; Title Defense #1

Rating: 51

http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/ewanite/Java.jpghttp://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/ewanite/TribalWarrior.jpg

After the match, it's another pair of mountains for The People's Team to deal with as Tribal Warrior & Java hit the ring and lay a beating on the tag team champions to a loud chorus of boos from the fans. Davids and Datsun try to put up a fight, but are exhausted from the match beforehand and can't defend themselves well enough.

Rating: 65

Danny Jillefski: Another loss for the Corporation and I can't imagine Grandmaster Phunk is happy with the group that Shane Sneer has left him here in USPW.

Sam Strong: While Shane's my friend, I'm not sad to see him leave with how his group is doing under their new leadership. But how about Savage Fury? Just throwing away the support of the fans for a shot at the tag team titles.

Danny Jillefski: A veteran of the business like you certainly knows how fickle the fans can be, Sam. They may love Savage Fury again in a couple of months but right now, the two Samoans would rather dominate the tag ranks and seem to have a good shot at doing that.

http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/Self/AliceStrum1.jpgvs.http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x385/darrbot/BelleBryden.jpg

Women's Division Singles Match

You'd be surprised to learn that this isn't the match of the night given the immense amounts of talent in these two women. It came damn close though, as both of these women leave it all in the ring, but an off-night from Alicia and perhaps some slanted commentary from Sam in the booth left the fans feeling that these two could do better. In the end, Belle ducks a Strong Arm Tactic and Alicia turns around into the Dish of the Day for the pinfall.

Winner: Belle Bryden by pinfall

Rating: 51

Sam Strong: I've worked on that Strong Arm Tactic with Alicia a hundred times if I've taught it to her once. But she'll get the hang of it someday, right Danny?

Danny Jillefski: She'll be one hell of a talent someday, Sam. In 10 years, this might just be "The Alicia Strong Show" with the way she's developing. And what a looker too.

Sam Strong: Whoa, Danny. Watch how you talk about her; she's my daughter first.

Danny Jillefski: You got it boss. But I'm getting word that backstage, the cameras have caught Chris Caulfield looking for the first recruit for his Stars, Stripes and Slams team, let's take a look.

http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x385/darrbot/ChrisCaulfield.jpg

The camera is following Chris Caulfield and he turns into a locker room, quickly followed by the camera before we can see the name on the door. Caulfield's voice is the first major sound in the segment.

Chris Caulfield: Look man, we've teamed together every now and again in the past two plus years since I signed here. You're a pretty big deal and I know you don't have anything going on yet at Stars, Stripes and Slams. How'd you like to make an impact after that double pin we had on you?

Chris steps into the room and extends his hand to the man, and we see who he's got in mind for a partner, seated on a couch reclining in as lazy a pose as possible.

http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/LoNdOn/Libertyalt2.jpg

Justice glances at the camera, back to Caulfield, chuckles to himself and grasps Caulfield's hand, affirming the alliance with just one word.

James Justice: Duuuuuuude.

Caulfield takes a seat on the couch as Justice moves over and the two seem to start discussing strategy as the camera goes back to the announce desk.

Rating: 68

Sam Strong: That's a hell of a half a team, James Justice and Chris Caulfield. Caulfield could go get a couple of guys off the street and have a chance if on the other side of the ring wasn't Bruce the Giant!

Danny Jillefski: If you think that's big, Sam, we've got a match coming up next that's pretty big too. Our second title defense of the night, with Andre Jones putting the Television Title on the line, where else, but on USPW American Wrestling?

Sam Strong: And his opponent is a young man I've had my eye on for a long time and he goes by the name of Erik Starr.

http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/J%20Silver/ErikStrong.jpgvs.http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x385/darrbot/AndreJones.jpg

Television Championship Match; Standard Singles Match

A good first showing for Erik Starr (Strong) on USPW tv after a few months off for rebranding from being a jobber, but this was not to be his day. Andre Jones uses his athleticism and some tricks he learned in the big leagues to keep the youngster on his toes and finishes him off with the Blast from the Past Lariat to the back of the head.

Winner: Andre Jones by pinfall; Title Defense #1

Rating: 49

Danny Jillefski: A solid title defense for the Television champion who continues to make a case that he can't be overlooked in this company.

Sam Strong: He was able to pick up the Television title, and not only that, he beat The Force to do it. Andre Jones isn't someone to take lightly.

http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x385/darrbot/GrandmasterPhunk_alt1.jpghttp://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x385/darrbot/JumboJackson.jpghttp://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x385/darrbot/DannyRushmore.jpghttp://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x385/darrbot/MickMuscles.jpghttp://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x385/darrbot/DemonAnger.jpg

The music of the Corporation hits over the speakers and down to the ring, led by Grandmaster Phunk come The Towers of Power, Anger and Jumbo Jackson, the latter looking particularly ominous as he is dressed to compete, and scheduled to do so soon, taking on Nicky Champion. Phunk has a microphone in his hand and upon arriving in the ring, is quick to use it.

Grandmaster Phunk: A'ight, a'ight, ladies and gentlemen, the Grandmasta is in the ring so give me your eyes, ears and wallets while I lay some truth on ya. Now, y'all know the Corporation ain't doing so hot tonight but we 'bout to change all that when my boy Jumbo...

Phunk slaps Jumbo on the back and the large man looks down at him with a look that screams "If you do that again, your head will be bouncing down the sidewalk." Undaunted, Phunk continues.

Grandmaster Phunk: ..my boy Jumbo here will be picking up the pieces of that loser Nicky Champion in this very ring in just a few short minutes. Now we all know that this big fella is a dominating monster, and that's what I thought about all these guys but let me just say that...

"Reckless Youth!"

http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/J%20Silver/NickyChampion_alt3.jpg

Over the speakers interrupting Phunk is "Reckless Youth" by Pillar, the entrance music of Nicky Champion who appears on the ramp and runs right down the ramp, sliding under the bottom rope, then pulling it down, sending both Towers of Power flopping out of the ring as they charge and clumsily fall out of the ring. Champion gets back to his feet and a referee runs down to the ring and clears out the extraneous members of The Corporation, and the match is underway.

Co-Main Event; Standard Singles Match

A real back and forth match that showcases the heart and fire of Nicky Champion and contrasts it pretty well against the power of Jumbo Jackson. But another thing shown is the dissolution of The Corporation as The Towers and Anger both try to get involved in the match but Phunk scolds them on the outside and eventually sends them to the back. However, when Champion drills Jackson with the Hawkeye Hammer, Phunk decides to try to save his muscle and gets into the ring, hitting Champion in the back of the head to draw the disqualification. After a moment, Jackson is up and the two put the boots to Champion for a bit, before leaving the ring.

Winner: Nicky Champion by disqualification

Rating: 51

Sam Strong: That Nicky Champion has a lot of talent, but until he learns how to pick his fights and watch his back, there might be quite a few more stompings in his future, brother.

Danny Jillefski: Well Nicky may have gotten the win, but he certainly learned a lesson. But more important, next is the main event, champion versus champion!

Sam Strong: You got that right, it's gonna be USPW World Champion Enygma taking on USPW National Champion Peter Valentine, and it's now!

http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/jtlant/Enygma.jpgvs.http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x385/darrbot/PeterValentine.jpg

Main Event; Non-Title; Standard Singles Match

A well balanced match with Valentine getting in his limited offense and being made to look alright against the World Champion. Enygma gets control in the early going, but Valentine goes for the mask to counter a suplex, and that momementary distraction allows the former TCW star to take control. Dominating for a good portion of the match, he's certainly surprised when the Heart Breaker gets countered into an Enygma Variation, and with a tight grip on his ankle, Valentine quickly taps out.

Winner: Enygma by submission

Rating: 52

http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/J%20Silver/TysonBaine.jpg

With almost no time to celebrate after the match, Enygma gets to his feet and is leveled with an elbow to the temple from Tyson Baine. The powerful monster grabs Enygma by the throat, yanks him to his feet, then up onto the larger man's shoulders, only to be driven into the mat with a massive Chokelift Powerbomb he calls the Hades Bomb. The show comes to a close with Tyson Baine standing over Enygma giving a huge roar.

Next week will be the final show with only two of these young guns to feature, and your votes will eliminate one of them. So get your votes in, and tune in this Wednesday for USPW American Wrestling, including "The Hardcore American" Chris Caulfield taking on the first member of Bruce the Giant's team, who will also be participating in the National Spotlight tournament! You don't wanna miss this! So tune in, take your vitamins, and everyone out there, Be Strong!</span></div></div><div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>

Alright, so that's one show in the books. First things first, the survey link so that you guys can vote on which guys make it into the final week of the "Spotlight Star Search" (which I really wish I'd come up with a better name for).

The second matter of business is last show's predictions, and the results are below. There is a prediction contest, but I haven't decided on the prize yet, much less when it'll be over. So my guess is it will go until the Pay-Per-View after I come up with the prize. In the meantime, there will be a weekly prize. So codey can ask a question of any USPW employee, with his perfect score.

Codey 6/6

bkremer72 5/6

Boltinho 5/6

Timber 4/6

The third thing to attend to is replying to posts, since I don't want to be one of those guys who just ignores his readers.

Nice show. I like the different angle you're looking at the starting feuds.

Thanks for the compliment. I didn't want my story to be 'just another USPW diary' and so I tried to take a different look at what could be done with some of the storylines. I realized that I ripped the T-Rex win streak idea roughly off of NoNeck, to which I apologize, but I was too lazy to go back and redo my first 3 months of booking. For Caulfield and Bruce, it didn't say anything about one trying to be #1 Contender over the other, and I began to picture it more like MVP & Matt Hardy from WWE a few years back. No, they won't be getting a joint tag title run.

Now onto the future, by which I mean predictions for next week. Without further ado, here's the card:

Raven Robinson © vs. Emma Frost; Women's Title

T-Rex vs. Giant Redwood

Anger vs. Grandmaster Phunk

Peter Valentine © vs. Erik Starr; National Title

The Hillbillys vs. Savage Fury

Amber Allen vs. Belle Bryden

Chris Caulfield vs. The 1st Member of Bruce's team

Bonus Point: Who will be Caulfield's opponent? (hint: He isn't a member of the default USPW roster and is under 30 years old)

And I think that's everything. I'll get to work on that next show now, and hopefully have it up in a week. Tuesdays & Wednesdays are my worst days for getting stuff done and I (hopefully) start a new job soon, so I can't give a real good time frame besides that my goal is to finish next Monday.

Really good first show Rayalek. I always claim I hate big companies but Im a sucker for USPW really. Its just a shame that a lot of the diaries run the same storylines or dont get far enough to deviate.

This seems good so far.

Raven Robinson © vs. Emma Frost; Women's Title

T-Rex vs. Giant Redwood

One of my favourite cverse Americans

Anger vs. Grandmaster Phunk

Phunks debut was good stuff

Peter Valentine © vs. Erik Starr; National Title

Its USPW. Valentine has to have a belt

The Hillbillys vs. Savage Fury

Savage Fury can be great in USPW. Look at that menace!

Amber Allen vs. Belle Bryden

Chris Caulfield vs. The 1st Member of Bruce's team

Bonus Point: Who will be Caulfield's opponent? (hint: He isn't a member of the default USPW roster and is under 30 years old)

Show's about halfway done, and the end is more match heavy, which tends to be faster to write. As such, this is a bump, as almost a last call for predictions, as the show will probably end up being posted Tuesday, as its my next day off from work. Also, please, folks, go vote in the poll. Right now, only 4 people have voted and each one voted for a different person and everyone is tied, so let's get some tiebreaking votes please. :)

My question goes to Peter Valentine:

What's it like having your amazing career overshadowed by that of Sam Strong?
