January 12th 2010

The National press has been buzzing recently concerning three major media outlets and a millionaire. News began to spread just moments after the striking of 12 on New Years Eve that, rather than hiring out some huge bar in Florida, or hosting a star studded banquet,
Gilbert Bartholomew Thomas
, owner of
GTI
or
Gil Thomas Industries
, had been brokering a deal that would see a change in his business direction in the near future.

Mr Thomas made his name in the knit-wear industry, before switching focus to transport and distribution, before finally making his real money in acquisitions. GTI, these days, focuses on the purchase, dismantlement and sale for profit of struggling businesses. Most recently, GTI had made their largest acquisition and sale to date when purchasing
Voltaire Airways
. Their online booking service was sold for almost the full value of the purchase to British Flights as a replacement for their current systems. Their transport contracts were sold to individual companies where appropriate and their fleet of jets were sold for a huge profit to United States Airways for their new budget line. It is rumoured that these sales, in total, more than doubled the
$2.4 billion
they spent to purchase Voltaire.

It is thought, by many, that this is the money that has been reinvested in the purchase of the
Arcadia Network
,
CBA Network
and finally,
USA Free Choice
. The wider thoughts of the business world is that these companies have been purchased, as all companies before them, to be dismantled and sold off piece by piece. Where the business world is stumped is exactly what they will break down and sell in order to make any kind of profit. These companies, in their current state, are all performing well with high revenues and look to promise healthy results going forward, therefore industry specialists are unsure as to where any resale profit will be made within the normal resale window of six months.

And this, I hope you can see, is why we are reporting this story. There is another idea, an idea that started to form in the minds of myself and my team just this past week. What if Mr Thomas isn’t looking to acquire, destroy and sell? What if Mr Thomas sees this as an opportunity; an opportunity upon which he has been waiting. It’s been said many times before that eventually Gil Thomas would dip his toe in the water of the
Wrestling
industry. Of course, he’s not willing to put all of his eggs in one basket. A huge investment in a start up company would mean a huge risk, not just to his personal finance but to his reputation. Purchasing an already established company would mean several problems; fighting those practices in place, changing the cultures within those companies, and most of all, having to pay a huge amount knowing that he’s so interested in getting involved in the industry.

And then a vision; a vision in the night perhaps? Knowing full well that those involved with GTI would not support the company investing in the wrestling business then perhaps they would invest in
Media
. As such, as the company at the head of a
Media Group
they would have influence over programming, and the production companies that provide such programming. In turn, that would lead to Mr Thomas being the head of a Media Group that may be interested in starting it’s own Wrestling Promotion. As such, he would finally have the opportunity to take on his old enemy,
Richard Eisen
, at his own game with the great head start of a Television and Pay-Per-View contract in tow!

This was a pipe dream of course, something dreamt up between myself and my fellow columnist here at
Wrestlefest.com
. However, after forwarding my findings and ideas to several different sources, the replies that I received seemed to raise my suspicions. The office of Mr Thomas
“refused to comment on any future dealings with wrestling or any other type of programming on any of the owned networks.”
, the press office for
CBA
returned the statement
“CBA has no plans to begin any programming at the moment, however cannot comment on any future interest, nor can it comment on any plans involving sister stations or Pay-Per-View networks.”
Finally, the reply from
Arcadia
“We can neither support nor deny any suspicions as it concerns any future ownership or airing of wrestling programming, we do not wish to fuel any suspicious until such time as any announcement is made by our parent company, GTI.”
This, it seems, would confirm that there has been talk. Maybe I am reading too much into this, maybe it’s just a coincidence, but to me if there was no chance of this being true, why have they not all moved to deny it?

I’ll keep my eye on any future developments and report back as soon as possible. Thanks for reading, and until next time. Stay interested.

January 19th 2010

Following from my article a week ago concerning GTI’s purchase of
Arcadia
,
CBA
and
USA Free Choice
, it has been revealed that all three companies have been rebranded starting from 1st of September as
Arcadia Media Group
under the ownership of
GTI
. This merger of TV and PPV does lend itself nicely to our theory that GTI plans to create a wrestling company which will air upon Arcadia or CBA with Pay Per Views airing on USA Free Choice. Of course, this will not be the names of these individual companies once they begin airing under the Arcadia Media brand.

CBA
or
Canada Broadcasting America
, have been one of the biggest networks in the whole of the United States and Canada for the past 30 years. Starting as the Canadian Broadcasting Company, they were localized on the single country before expanding out to the United States in 1979. They have hosted a number of huge shows over the years including The comedies
C*H*I*P*S
,
Buddies
&
Yells
, the dramas
Houston
,
The Ravelli’s
and
The Criminal
and of course, every year, award winning coverage of the
SuperBowl
. From February 1st,
CBA
will now be named
Arcadia 1
.

CBA’s now younger sibling is that of the
Arcadia network
, known for less substantial, more Cult Style hits. At its inception, Arcadia was known as the
Fiction Network
, displaying new up and coming programming from across the US. In the early nighties, The Fiction network was rebranded as The Arcadia network and spawned programming of both fiction and non-fiction with
Interns
,
Spouse Switch
,
Dinner Party Challenge
,
New Home, New You
,
Planet Switch
and
Legal System
. Despite being the basis from what the Media Group took its name, from February 1st,
Arcadia
will be known as
Arcadia 2
.

The final company to join this little Media get together was
USA Free Choice
. Spawned in the early part of this century to rival the bigger, successful Pay Per View Carriers in North Amercian Prime Select and America 1-Select. Over the last several years it has shown fantastic buy-rates for some of the biggest events in boxing, MMA and Wrestling. USA Free Choice hosted the boxing match between
Lloyd Waymeather
taking on
Lanny Macquipao
for the
WBA
and
WBC Welterweight Championship
of the World, and finally the huge Pay Per View events that were
The Supreme Challenge
of
SWF
and
Total Mayhem
of
TCW
. From February 1st
USA Free Choice
will be known as
Arcadia PPV
.

Those are the companies that have been merged and rebranded. These events seem to be aligning a number of planets that may lead to the start of something exciting. Whatsmore, the hiring of
Robert Morse
, the man who acted as Executive Producer for
SWF Supreme TV
in the beginning and oversaw the beginning of
USPW American Television
over on
USA Sports 1
, has further increased speculation that Arcadia Media will look to start providing some kind of Sports Entertainment based Television.

Once again, ladies and gentlemen, thank you for reading. As always, keep an eye out for any further updates and always stay interested.

February 1st 2010

After weeks of speculation, after weeks of rumours and hearsay, it is official.
Arcadia Media
will be the parent company for a brand new Professional Wrestling promotion. The announcement was made earlier today on the newly created Arcadia Media website by the chairman of the board
Gil Thomas
.

“Following years of extensive research, months of planning, weeks of negotiation and days of anticipation, Gil Thomas Industries can announce that starting with our inaugural Pay-Per-View Event on the final Saturday of February, we will see the birth of a new era of Sports Entertainment.
Total Revolution Wrestling
will begin with the presentation of
TRW Uprising
, Live on
Arcadia Pay Per view
. The following Wednesday at 8/9C
Arcadia 2
will host the genesis of
TRW Total Revolution Television
. As such, this will be our group’s first foray into the Wrestling business, but this is not a blind leap. This is something that I, that is, we are very proud to be introducing to the Arcadia family.”

Whilst this statement is certainly in some ways enlightening, the fact that this is the first “foray into the wrestling business” for the group is kind of moot considering the “group” has only existed for about two weeks. Whilst it is true that both Arcadia 1 and 2 have neither shown wrestling programming in the past, USA Free Choice or should I say Arcadia PPV did, at least at one point, host both TCW and SWF. Therefore, this leaves the overall point either redundant or flawed. We can, however, ignore that fact on the basis of the below video. This video shows the Press Conference held earlier today at the headquarters of GTI in Orlando, Florida.

The Chairman of the Board

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/TRW/Staff/GilThomas-1.png

Gil Thomas

The video begins with Gil Thomas sat alone at a long table with an empty seat at either side of him. He takes a moment to shuffle his notes before smiling widely into the waiting cameras and beginning to speak.

Thomas:
Before I open the floor to any questions you may have I have a couple of announcements to make. Firstly, as the Chairman of both GTI and the Arcadia Media group, my time will often be somewhat divided. As such, I feel the need to delegate responsibilities for my new venture and as always, I have looked to ensure that the minds I put forth to take up the mantle have to be suitable for the job. This is a unique experience here, as unlike some other brands of Sports Entertainment, the Network is the majority shareholder and as such has a vested interest in the success of the company it runs. Of course, I’m not naïve enough to think that any one man could hold the position of Television producer and Head Booker or Writer. This, I feel, would be somewhat foolish. As such, I’ve decided to hire two men who will work together to ensure our successful future. The first, a man who has been involved with the production of two separate wrestling programs, a fantastic Television Producer; Mr. Robert Morse.

The Executive Producer

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/TRW/Staff/RobertMorse.png

Robert Morse

Those in attendance gave commands for their photographers to snap away as Robert Morse steps out into the flickering lights from the flashes of the cameras. He smiles and nods, before taking his seat next to Thomas.

Thomas:
Of course, whilst Mr. Morse is excellent at Television Production, I needed someone on the inside, a wrestling mind. We needed a professional, a man who would be able to shape our on screen stories and allow Robert to mould them into a world class television program. It took time and energy, it took a lot of discussion and most of all the calling in of one or two important favours to get our man. A man who will lead our Revolution, a man who will give birth to a Total Revolution, a man who will be the man responsible for creating Total Revolution Wrestling; ladies and gentlemen, I give to you, “The Traditionalist” Eric Tyler!

The Head of Creative

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/TRW/Staff/EricTyler-1.png

Eric Tyler

This introduction gifts itself to a more spirited welcome. One or two gasps, an attempt at applause and even an audible whoop from a journalist from Wrestlefest.com.

Thomas:
Now; any questions? Yes, you at the front.

Thomas points to the whooping journalist

Carmichael:
Mr. Tyler? Firstly, can I say I’m a huge fan…

Tyler:
Thank you…

Carmichael:
Secondly, I have to ask. You’ve been out of the business since your retirement, what is it that has interested you about joining Arcadia Media and TRW?

Tyler:
I’ve been biding my time. Waiting for the right opportunity to come back; I’ve had offers of course. North of the Border, SWF, CGC, TCW all wanted to bring me in for one reason or another. Gil here was the first to offer me something more than heading up a stable or playing an authority figure. He’s given me the opportunity to build something from scratch.

Reporter 1:
Mr. Morse, why is it that you decided to join on with this project?

Morse:
My reasons are similar. I’d been working on a number of reality shows, Small Sister, I’m An Amazon Celebrity and of course the ever popular Idol Factor. These were shows that hit the spot in the culture of the business we call show, but nothing gave me the buzz of those early wrestling programs I’d been involved with. As such, I jumped at the opportunity to come back and start again with another company and put forward the practices and skills I’ve learnt from producing Live and Reality television throughout the years.

Reporter 2:
Mr. Thomas, do you think these two polar opposites will work side by side?

Thomas:
They have no choice, they’re a modern day odd couple.

The reporters laugh in Unison.

Reporter 1:
Mr. Tyler, how do you intend to grab the attention of the wrestling world?

Tyler:
By doing what we, in the wrestling world do, putting on the best shows on Earth. This is something different, something new, something that the others refuse to do. We’re going to give some of the best wrestlers in the world an opportunity. We’re going to build a foundation of wrestling, and on that foundation a revolution will be born.

Reporter 2:
Mr. Morse? Same question…

Morse:
By offering the world some of, if not the best entertainment on this planet. Wrestling, stories, characters, showmanship and intrigue. We will create a Universe that each and every wrestling fan will be begging to dive into every week. They will love everything that we do because we will be the very best at it. We will make the wrestling business interesting again.

Carmichael:
Mr. Thomas, what is it exactly that you hope to achieve with this new venture?

Thomas:
I have three goals; to be the biggest recognised brand of Sports Entertainment in the World, to be the best brand of Sports Entertainment in the world… And most of all…

Gil Thomas smiles…

Thomas:
To bring Richard Eisen to his knees… Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for your time today, and please ensure you tune in on Saturday February 25th for TRW Uprising!

With that, the three men climb to their feet and leave the Press Conference.

For those of you who are asking, yes, that was me… Whooping. But not just whooping, I also asked some questions. We were all a little frustrated at the speed at which our open questions were brought to a close but in all honesty, I have to admit that they had answered enough to pique interest without actually giving too much away. I know, for one, my next question would have been about which wrestlers they would be bringing in. This could have potentially been a little information overload, given that we were given a schedule for press releases. That being a full roster would be revealed to us, the press, in roughly 1 weeks’ time. Following on from that, 1 week before their inaugural pay per view event, the official card would be announced to build interest.

For now, all I can say is that things are looking up. I agree with
Gil Thomas
that neither
Tyler
nor
Morse
could have tamed this wild stallion alone and if they can work together they may well be able to create something that could etch both of their names in the annuls of history. If not, well, we all know what happens to a wrestling company with bad ratings… And when you’re owners are the guys who broadcast your show, the plug can be pulled pretty quickly.

Check back a week from today where, all being well, we will have a roster evaluation of
TRW
. For now, I say thank you for reading and of course; Stay interested.

By
Jefferson Carmichael

February 8th 2010

This is it, ladies and gentlemen, this is the moment we’ve waited for all week. The official revealing of the
TRW Roster
! I’ll be honest, I’ve been excited about this for the last week; I’ve been excited about everything to do with TRW which is why I’ve accepted responsibility to become the official columnist for wrestlefest.com for
Total Revolution Wrestling
. As such, I have a direct line with wrestlers and officials alike and as such, I have been sent the full list of all employees of TRW. Of course, I will start with each of the wrestlers based on the push assigned by Eric Tyler and then in alphabetical order. This, I assume, is done to prevent ideas about who is most popular. On top of this, I’ll outline the other staff members and the Tag Teams of TRW as well. So, without further ado… Let’s get started!

The Main Event

First up is the
“El Ultimo Rey” Antonio Marquez III
(Champagne Lover), his information states he is the last King of Mexico who is all about his legacy and his . Up next
“The Oncoming Storm” Dorian Hellfire
(Hell Monkey), a face who is willing and able to right the wrongs of TRW.
“The Prodigy” James Platinum
(James Prudence), an arrogant young punk who seems to think the world owes him a living.
“The Adrenaline Junky” Remmy Psyche
(Remmy Skye) is all about the high octane, high risk offence willing to put his body on the line to be successful.
“Mr. TRW” Steve Flash
, the highly respected veteran of the Main Event scene, a man willing to do everything he has to do to make sure he gives his all for the company. Finally,
“The Burning” Taylor Morton
(Acid), a mysterious, masked loner who bows to no-one and backs down from nothing.

The Upper Midcard

“The Gatekeeper” Cerberus
(Larry Wood) is the guardian of hell, willing to put all comers through that exact experience in order to pass. Terrifying and definitively willing to end careers.
“The Machine” Insanity
(Insane Machine) is a superstar willing to put everything on the line, why? Because he’s crazy.
“The Artist” James Michaels
(Mikey James) is a fast footed martial artist who can use his feet as a deadly weapon.
“The Party Animal” Johnny D
(Donnie J) is a high fun, candle burning party animal who is all about the fun, no matter what the time, what the day, you will find Johnny Smiling and active.
“The Hardcore Icon” Johnny Martin
is a former DaVE legend who hasn’t cut down any of his high impact styling even as he’s gotten older. Another veteran willing to take the kids of TRW to task.
Kanchō
(Fumihiro Ota) is one half of
Shinobi Nation
and is quite simply, a Ninja Master. His name is derived from the Ninja spys, an old Shinobi Role.

The Midcard

DM Sparrow
(Matt Sparrow) is the resident Straight Edge superstar in TRW, his drug and drink free life style is not something he’s preaching but is the way he lives his life.
“Glorious” Gregory Gauge
is the son of Sam Keith but is shunning his father’s legacy and is looking to make his own name. Some would say this is admirable, but the truth is he’s looking to be successful off the back of shunning his father’s name.
“Jumping” Jake Jett
is one half of
JettStream
, the showstopping tag team in TRW. His speed and agility make him a tough opponent for anyone. The other half of
Shinobi Nation
is
Kishu
(Kazuma Narato), although not as skilful as his Ninja Master, he is learning. His name is derived from the “Surprise Attackers” of old.
“The Ripper” Marcus Swift
(Marc Speed) is a talented technical wrestler whose supreme goal is to tear apart as many opponents as possible in as shorter time as possible.
“The Ice Man” Matty Keith
is a rebellious young character happy to be associated with his father’s name, not to get a leg up but as a tribute to the man himself.
“Sexy” Shawn Stream
(Mainstream Hernandez) is the Stream end of
JettStream
, and like his partner he is fast and agile, a problem for any opponent.
“The Awesome” Steven Parker
is a Big League Player, or at least so he thinks. From his point of view it’s only a matter of time until something bigger and better comes along.
“Mr. Money” Theodore Powell
is a talented wrestler with a sideline in investments in the city. A big money star who has the means to be very successful.

The Lower Midcard

“The Pain” that is Eloni
(Samoan Machine) is one half of the popular Savage tag team of
Samoan Suffering
. Whilst both show Savage tendencies, both seem willing and able to fight on the side of good for whatever reason.
“The Punisher” Statler
(Marv Statler) is one half of
The Enforcers
, a team specifically hired by Eric Tyler to ensure he is protected at all times, but we’ll get to him later. Statler is the wrestler of the team.
“The Anger” that is Tane
(Rhino Umaga) is the second Savage of
Samoan Suffering
. Of the two he is the most likely to maul his opponents instead of wrestling them, and very dangerous too.
“The Destroyer” Waldorf
(Dean Waldorf) is the brawler of
The Enforcers
tag team, his spinebuster is known to be devastating to the recipient, and many have received it.

The Openers

Danny Dean
(Dean Daniels) is a talented technical wrestler who is unfortunately winding down on his career, however he is taking this opportunity with both hands. Willing to fight anyone, anywhere, anytime.
“The Enlightened” Guru Singh
(Kashmir Singh) is a young wrestler with more than physical violence on his mind. A lover, and shaman, looking to spread the word of peace. Quite where this fits into TRW, no-one is sure.
“The Natural” Wayne Davis
is a talented youngster with the world at his feet, his position is purely down to his relative obscurity on the American scene. A blue collar worker, interested in working hard and working smart. Some would say the future of TRW.

The Enhancement

“El Lucha Maestro” Fantastico
(Mr. Lucha III) is yet another promising young talent with time on his side. His Luchadore style fits well with the high paced hard hitting action of Total Revolution Wrestling.

The Managers

“Cute” Cameron
(Katie Cameron) is the manager of JettStream, a beautiful beach babe looking to guide the Dangerous Dudes that are JettStream to championship gold.
“The Beautiful” Dharma
(Dharma Gregg) is the manager of Remmy Psyche and her beauty is something to behold. She’s more than just a pretty face, however, as she is Remmy’s mouth piece during promos.
“The Consultant” Emily Edwards
(Queen Emily) has two roles in TRW, she is an Executive Consultant to Mr. Tyler, whilst also holding own the role of manager for two of the biggest prospects in TRW in Gregory Gauge and Steven Parker. She is less of a manager and more of a representative, creating strategies that are useful to all that use them.
“The Countess” Jennifer Marquez
is the wife and valet of Antonio Marquez. TRW’s power couple have the looks and the skills to really light the wrestling world on fire.
“The Hustler” Bosko Batch
is a veteran manager who has many axes to grind. His are by far the most menacing clients with the mysterious Taylor Morton and the monstrous Cerberus. Rumour has it that he holds the key to controlling these two wild cards, so let’s hope he can control them.

The Power

“The Traditionalist” Eric Tyler
holds most day to day power within TRW; he has been charges with the role of leading the revolution. As General Manager, he is the match maker, the power and also has an arsenal of willing stooges. Both The Enforcers and Marcus Swift are at his beck and call whenever they are required. Eric Tyler answers to no-one…
“The Chairman of the Board” Gil Thomas
, well… When I say no-one… Tyler answers to the Chairman. Of course, his appearences will be rare, and the likelihood is he will not interfere unless things get too messy. He trusts Tyler to do what is right for the company. Whether this is a smart decision we will learn.

The Annoucers

Our lead announcer is
“The Voice of TRW” Steven Smith
, an Old English Gentleman who has been a fan of the business for many years. His knowledge of the sport is great, and wide ranging. Whether it’s holds or history, he has the answer. His broadcast colleague is non other than
“The Femenist View” Sara Silver
. The beautiful Silver has her own ideas on how wrestling should be, and her view is that of the female deposition. She loves a bad boy and has no problems with telling the world all about it. Finally, we have
The Doctor
(Doc Messing), our backstage announcer looking to get the scoop on all of the happenings that we don’t see at ringside. He is a specialist at getting the scoop, and seemingly he’s always in the right place at the right time… Like he has a Tardis or something… Hence… The Doctor… You get the point.

The Agents

The shows wouldn’t run smoothly without our agents, who in this case, alongside Eric Tyler, are
“The Crippler” Ray Kingman
, a legendary former wrestler with an unrivalled knowledge of how to make a bad match good, and a good match great, and
Craig Prince
, a young less experienced agent who had a promising career cut short by injury. These three minds should really help to create something special everytime the bell rings.

The Referees

Finally, our lawmen, the two who would be known as the sheriffs of TRW. A thankless task, trying to keep order in the chaos,
Eugene Williams
is our head official, whilst his deputy is
Wilson Carlisle
.

The Verdict

A very strong roster, there are some flaws to what is being created in TRW. If they intend to focus on the flow of matches and telling a great in ring story, then unfortunately a Main Event involving Remmy Skye is going to take away from that unless he is in there with someone really good. On the flip side, Acid, Lover and Prudence could probably carry him through to a pretty good match. Steve Flash and Johnny Martin are probably a little past their best, but I can see why they’re hired. They’re locker room leaders and will put on a good show for those younger guys to watch. In the case of Flash I see this as his last “big run” and a future probably taking over from Kingman when he retires.

The roster is a young one, with only five superstars over the age of 35. What’s more interesting is the talent of the young roster, which will mean they will learn and continue to grow over time. The Tag Division is small, but it has a few good fueds in there, add in a few make shift teams with guys who are maybe not always in fueds, we’ve probably got at least 12 months before it needs freshening up. Whilst The Enforcers and Samoan Suffering probably need to stick together, JettStream and Shinobi Nation both have the means to break away into good singles competitors allowing for more teams to be created.

Overall, I’m excited, really excited and I’m glad that I’ve taken the roll of writing about TRW. Hopefully they will continue to excite me as time goes on, god knows I’ve needed to be inspired over the last few years.

I’ll be back in the next week with an evaluation of the TRW Uprising Card that is due to go live sometime in the week leading up to the Pay Per View. I’ll post the card and then, of course, tell you what I think. For now, thank you for reading and as always; Stay Interested.

You've got a great backstory.

I'm reading.

Thank you; I've been working on this for quiite some time now and I was hoping to pique some interest with the idea of a multi-millionaire starting a company but not wanting to risk his own wealth. It's great to have you aboard.

You've got a great backstory going. I'm usually not a fan of C-Verse diaries, but you've definitely caught my attention. Keep it up!

Got to say, after only a few posts to have the attention of someone who isn't normally big on the C-Verse is a great compliment. That's what anyone who writes wants to achieve, to attract the attention of those who would normally look somewhere else.

Thank you for your comments, hopefully the roster will continue to build up your interest. There are a couple of characters that are similar to those of real world wrestlers, but I can promise that the look and general idea of the characters are all that will be similar. There are going to be some huge differences.

Finally, I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the Renderers who work so hard on GDS. Some of the work that's been done over the past couple of years has been inspiring and to say the least, some of the genera renders I've been able to use have kick started ideas for characters all on their own. I can't individually name all those who have created renders that I am using, but I can say from the bottom of my heart thank you.

Whatsmore, there is one more backstory post and then my card will be up. I will be running Prediction competitons on the back of my PPV events and the winner each month with get a prize, what this will be yet, I'm not sure, but all in all I hope to make it something interesting.

Thank you to everyone who has read thus far, 132 views in 15 or so hours have really made me happy. The comments are fantastic, and all will be appreciated and discussed, but just to anyone who is reading my writing, I thank you all.

Grade-A stuff here, Mike. The imagery is great, the backstory is really intriguing, and the roster appears to be an interesting one no doubt. I'm excited to see how you write a TV produced wrestling show. Will it feel like all the others - or - will it take on more of your comedy/drama-like shows with some wrestling intertwined? The latter would call for more angles than matches; however, could be interesting to see something new in that manner.

All in all, keep up what you're doing here!

Thank you E-V; it's great to hear your feedback. Whilst I peruse the Dynasty board quite often, I've only seen your DOA attempt at a Network owned company. I do feel that I've cheated a little seeing as I've incorporated USA Free Choice into the mix, but to be honest I've based Arcadia more on the BSkyB system we have in the UK. We have Sky Sports 1, 2, 3 and 4 plus Sky Sports Box Office which is our PPV. That's kind've where I've gone with this idea.

As for the Angles/Matches, the ratio will lean towards more in ring action but my writing style will likely focus on more in depth angles than matches. The big matches, the big events will have more focus which should hopefully lead to a difference between the weekly shows (Angle driven) and the PPV's (Match driven) which to me, is what wrestling is about.

My final "backstage" peice will give everyone an idea about the relationship between the Triad as they will come to be known, but most importantly the relationship between Tyler and Morse who will be the main narrators of my story. I see a good battle developing between the Old School Eric Tyler and the Flashy TV executive that is Morse.

Thanks again for the feedback, you know it means a lot.

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/TRW/Headlines/Meeting.png

February 17th 2010, a Friday in fact; just eight short days away from our first ever show, TRW Uprising, live on the newly created Arcadia Pay-Per-View. Arcadia Media had moved offices, from the three separate locations in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, to Orlando, Flordia into a set of offices that Gil had acquired when he moved GTI to Orlando back in 06. This would be my first day there; despite the fact that there were shows to produce, schedules to get to grips with and decisions to be made, this was not what I had been hired for. Of course, I’d tried to get a start on working through things over the last few weeks but to be honest, Eric Tyler was a dinosaur. I asked for a cell phone number that returned my texts because they weren’t capable of receiving, I tried to get an email address but nothing. Once the email address had been turned down, I decided not to quiz the office as to whether he had Skype. I asked for his address but was informed this was personal information that they couldn’t give out and everytime I spoke to Gil his answer was the same.

Thomas:
Robert; relax! He won’t let us down, I’ll set up a meeting with him and we can thrash out our ideas.

This was, I’ll admit, a little frustrating. I was the producer of the TV show and I had no access to my writer. We had eight days to go and finally I was about to sit down and have a face to face talk with both Eric and Gil. I had my plan of attack ready; how was I supposed to run the show if I was being hamstrung by not knowing the script. It was ridiculous, I couldn’t do my job like this. I’d been producing television since the age of twenty one and now, twenty years later, I was being treated like a putz. Alas, I’m not a complete idiot, I’d decided on an opening day peace offering. As I strode those final steps towards Gil’s office at Thomas Towers, my three Grande Skinny Cappucino’s in one hand, my brief case and a box of Danish pastries in the other I knocked on the door.

Thomas:
Come in…

I push open the door and walk forward, Gil climbs to his feet and offers his hand. A little embarrassing considering the groceries I’d brought. I let out a laugh of embarrassment before putting my wares down on the desk and quickly gripping his outstretched hand.

Thomas:
Robert, great to see you, how’re you doing?

Morse:
Great, fantastic. Good morning Eric…

I’d turned to face Tyler who was leant back in his chair, his eyes burning a whole in me straight from the get go. He was surrounded by paper, no iPad, no laptop, just books and paper. Jeez, he really was a dinosaur. After a few moments of silence, I turned back to Gil.

Morse:
I, uh, I picked up some coffee and breakfast if you’re interested.

Thomas:
Skimmed milk?

Morse:
Sure; and Danish pastries.

Thomas:
Just the coffee thanks, I’m watching my weight.

Morse:
Eric?

I slid the coffee towards him and the box filled with sweet delicacies.

Tyler:
Not for me…

Thomas:
Eric, what did I say before Robert arrived?

Tyler sighed, out loud, like a 14 year old child being told to say thank you for a gift he never asked for nor wanted.

Tyler:
Not for me, but thank you for being so thoughtful to offer someone you’ve never met, coffee made the way you like it and a selection of sugary desserts that clearly you favour. I’m doing you a favour, twice as much for you.

He clicked his pen during this entire speech.

Morse:
No thank you was enough.

I smiled as I said it, which I think antagonised the former pro-wrestler even more. Gil, on the other hand, chuckled. I took my seat and pulled out my iPad and set it up on it’s keyboard. I looked up briefly to find Tyler rolling his eyes and shuffling paper.

Thomas:
So, Robert, I believe you have a few concerns that you wish to address?

Morse:
A couple, yes.

I saw Eric lean forward, this exchange had clearly gotten his interest. I could sense this could well be a dangerous exchange.

Morse:
Firstly, my lack of contact with Eric leading up to our first show is unacceptable, I can’t see how I will be able to produce our Television show with such little preparation time. Surely we need to be in more regular contact than this?

Tyler’s eyes bore holes deep into me.

Tyler:
You don’t feel like twelve days is enough time for you to get together everything you need to produce the show Mr. Morse?

Morse:
Twelve days is more than enough, Mr. Tyler, but as you well know our first show is in eight days…

Tyler:
Correction, MY first show is eight days, YOUR first show is in twelve days.

Morse:
I’m not sure I follow…

Gil lifted his hand to stop us, as if coming between feuding children. He seemed to be half enjoying this.

Thomas:
I believe the point that Eric is making, Robert, is that our first show is a Pay Per View, our first TV show that you will produce follows four days later.

Tyler:
Which is why you don’t need to know a damn thing about it…

Morse:
Wait a second, let me get this straight. I produce the TV shows for the Arcadia Media Group, but I don’t produce the Pay-Per-Views? How exactly does that work?

Thomas:
It doesn’t work like that Robert, you’re the Executive Producer of Total Revolution Wrestling across all medias, just because I understand what Eric meant, doesn’t mean he was right.

Morse:
Oh, well… Thank you Gil.

Thomas:
Don’t thank me yet, you’re not right either. This meeting was set up because eight days is more than enough time to prepare, if it’s not then you need to think about a change in career Robert, because this is a Weekly show that we’re running, you will often have less than seven days to prepare.

Eric smiled, he actually smiled at me being torn a new one by the Chairman of the Board.

Thomas:
And you can wipe the smile of your face Eric, because he does have a point. This is our first show, we need to kick things off with a bang. You need to keep in contact; constant contact. I have arranged for a Laptop and internet connection to be set up at your home and you will be provided with a Blackberry that you will be required to keep on you at all times is that clear?

This was, I felt, somewhat ridiculous. I’d seen this tactic before, in fact I’d used this tactic before. Make a common enemy and from it you will see team work bloom. He was hoping to unite us by making us dislike him.

Thomas:
Was there anything else Mr. Morse?

Morse:
No, no that was everything I wanted to discuss…

Thomas:
Excellent, now on to the show… Let’s see what you have in place Eric.

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/TRW/Misc/break.png

The pompous little jackass had the nerve to call me out on my script for the show? I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen his lips move. Considering we had no basis, no underlying hatred, no simmering tension, just a group of characters being thrown into a melting pot I felt the show had come on pretty good. Apparently, I was mistaken. There was no show, no razzmatazz, no sparkle. Apparently we needed something to make people tune in on the Wednesday evening. I could feel the blood building up in my head before finally I slapped my hands on the desk.

Tyler:
I can’t do it Gil; I just can’t do it.

Thomas:
Eric will you calm down?

Tyler:
Calm down? Calm DOWN!? You want me to sit and listen to some reality TV show freak tell me we need more sparkle? This is professional wrestling not Celebrity ChaCha! You know something Morse…

I felt myself lean across the table towards him, and watched the little coward press himself back in his seat.

Tyler:
It’s people like you that are killing this business. The dirt sheets blame Cornell, Eisen and Strong for their decisions, guys like Faith and Keith for not stepping aside, but the truth is it’s suits like you that are killing it. “We’d like to suggest trying this… Can you include some of that?... We need to make sure we’re reaching out to our target demographic…” It’s all nonsense; and do you know why it’s nonsense? Because I’m a wrestling fan, I always have and I always will be. I’m one of the few guys who really did evolve with the business, and I know what I like, that makes me an expert.

I sat back down hard on the chair and felt it buckle, but luckily not collapse. Man, that would have ruined the moment. I turned my head to look at Gil who was… Smiling?

Thomas:
This is why I brought you in here Eric; to push back. Granted I’m non-too-happy with your aggressive approach but I have to concede to your greater knowledge on the wrestling front. Still, I think you need to accept that whilst wrestling has indeed been doing relatively well on the Television market, the shows that Robert has produced has touched audiences around the world. You two are so busy trying to push away from one another, you’re both forgetting on thing.

Both:
What’s that?

We exchange a look, as if even angered by a shared word even for a moment.

Thomas:
This is my company, this is my opportunity to break into a business that I’ve coverted for years…

His voice began to raise, and for a small man, he became quite huge as he climbed to his feet.

Thomas:
And I’ll be damned if I will let the two of you destroy while you sniff each other’s asses and bare your teeth. You had best work out how to work together, because if either of you let your results slip in an attempt to outdo the other I will personally make sure that neither one of you work in your respective businesses again, is that clear?

Morse:
Yes sir.

Thomas:
Eric?

Through gritted teeth, I forced my reply.

Tyler:
Crystal…

I collected my papers together and climbed to my feet. Shaking hands with Gil, I left the office at the same time as Morse. As the door closed behind me, the executive turned to me.

Morse:
Jeez, that was intense…

I turned to face him, my eyes fixed on his.

Tyler:
Let me get something straight; I don’t like television executives, you’re the reason that wrestling has become a joke; the executives telling wrestling guys what they want, the executives making decisions. You’ve tried to make pro wrestling into one of your horrible reality TV shows. You’re not my boss, you’re not even my peer. Stay out of my way, make the show I write look good on the TV and we won’t have an problems. Get the picture?

He smiled into my face, an arrogant smile that seemed to know more than he wanted to give away. Without a word, he nodded, but not in agreement, more in acknowledgment before turning and walking away… The little pri…

Eric Tyler

Since being named General Manager of Total Revolution Wrestling, Eric Tyler has hunted down some of the biggest names on the independent scene and offered them the opportunity to shine on the national stage. Tonight is the opening night; tonight is the very epicentre of the explosion that will be TRW, and Eric Tyler is the man to bring about this big-bang-esque pop at the centre of the wrestling world that could change it forever. On this night, we will hear from Eric Tyler to find out just what his plans really are.

“The Prodigy” James Platinum
Vs
“Mr. TRW” Steve Flash

Two men at the opposite ends of the Main Event scale; one at the start of a career, one coming to an end, one in it for himself, one in it for the good of the company. In the grand scheme of things, this contest could well be the catalyst for change in the wrestling business, a changing of the guard, a new beginning and purging of the old. The problem is simple, no-one will want Platinum to be victorious, and Steve Flash will lie down for no-body.

“The Gatekeeper” Cerberus
Vs
“The Natural” Wayne Davis

Another contest of opposing styles and ideologies. Ceberus is big, menacing and willing to destroy anyone and anything in an attempt to send as many souls as possible into Hell itself. Wayne Davis is just the type of soul Cerberus will look to harvest, he’s an honest blue collar working man looking to do no more than make a name for himself using his natural skill and ability. Both men will want to make an impact, but most will hope that the impact made, will not be that of Wayne Davis’s skull on the mat.

The Enforcers
Vs
JettStream

Eric Tyler’s Enforcers make their in ring debut looking to show the whole of the TRW lockerroom what will await them should they wish to clash heads with their General Manager boss. A good team with a mix of technical skill and brutal brawling power, they will have to contend with the high octane, super speed of JettStream. This young duo seemingly have what it takes to be a success in tag team wrestling, but the real question is can Speed overcome Power and Technical ability?

“The Awesome” Steven Parker
Vs
“The Party Animal” Johnny D

Steven Parker’s road to TRW has been somewhat rocky; his discussion of signing with Eric Tyler did not go well when he explained he was going to use TRW to “keep in shape” until something bigger comes along. This, it would seem, is enough to allow Mr. Tyler the opportunity to test him out against TRW’s resident Party Animal, Johnny D. Whilst Johnny has no real need for an excuse to have a good time, shutting the mouth of one of the most overconfident superstars in TRW will have to serve as motivation.

“The Machine” Insanity
Vs
“The Artist” James Michaels

Very little is known about Insanity other than the fact that he is A) Insane and B) a machine. Whilst that seems obvious considering his name, his reputation proceeds him as he has left a trail of distruction in almost every company in which he has competed. His opponent at Uprising is non other than James Michaels. The Artist is just that, in almost every way. Multi-talented, he has a penchant for painting, sculpting, music, film… But most of all, the dangerous Martial Arts. He has quick feet and Insanity will spend most of his time trying to avoid them.

Shinobi Nation
Vs
Samoan Suffering

TRW’s resident Ninja Tag Team will need to use all their stealth if they are looking to come out of this match alive. Their wiley skills and abilities to duck and run, dealing out sneak attacks and assassinations will be the skills required when they take on Samoan Suffering. It is apparent, from name alone, that the big Samoan tag team are interested in one thing, putting their opponents through as much pain as possible; as such, this match could be about Power Vs Stealth and it’s hard to work out which will be more successful.

“Mr. Money” Theodore Powell
Vs
“The Hardcore Icon” Johnny Martin

A throwback to the days of Extreme with two alumni of another once great company come head to head at the Wisconsin Garden Arena. Following the demise of their former place of work, these two men went completely different roads. Theodore Powell played the stock market and has over time been able to build himself a nice little fortune, something that his opponent has not. Johnny Martin, until recently, had continued on a tour of bingo halls and parking lots wrestling day in, day out taking bumps. Not just because he loves it of course, but because that’s what he must do to survive.

“The Burning” Taylor Morton
Vs
“The Adrenaline Junky” Remmy Psyche

A match for those who love high flying, death defying, leap of faith style action. Neither man is shy from taking a risk, and whilst Remmy Psyche seems to be addicted to the opportunities he takes to lay his body on the line, both men are willing to do almost anything to win. It is a testament to this fact that Regular Rules are in place, not to overhype the match, but because adding weapons, ladders and cages could end the careers of both men. Taylor Morton is looking to rekindle the fires that surrounded him when he was a member of DaVE.

“El Ultimo Rey” Antonio Marquez III
Vs
“The Oncoming Storm” Dorian Hellfire

Yet another match for the ages as the Last King of Mexico takes on the Hellfire himself. In an interesting turn of events, these two men Main Event our Pay Per View and these are the same two men who have been hyped by many to be in contention to become first ever TRW World Heavyweight Champion. As such, both men will be looking to make waves in their debut appearance. Antonio Marquez will look to capitalise on his fame elsewhere in the world to gain favour, whereas Dorian Hellfire will look to do no more that try to prevent any wrongdoers from getting their hands on the gold. Our Main Event of the evening will be something very, very special.

Good GOD I love what you're doing here. Just had to say it again. The imagery really tells an initial story as to WHAT to expect with TRW. When fusing that with the name "Uprising", there's no doubt that we're in for quite a crazy ride ahead.

Also, as a note, I really love the new play on names you have here. I'm one who typically likes to change things up, especially when it comes to running your OWN company; so, it was really great to see your new renditions of some age-old characters.

More or less, you're hitting all the right notes with me thus far!!

James Platinum Vs
Steve Flash

Prudence COULD win but I'm saying Flash pulls out the veteran victory. This could, in the end, prove to be a feud where Prudence is annoyed for losing at first and is hell-bent on showing EVERYONE he can beat Flash (ie: classic feud).

Cerberus
Vs Wayne Davis

Wayne Davis is certainly a hot talent; however, with a character like Cerberus, an initial victory is entirely key to make him look deadly. I guess you COULD have him lose, yet look strong in some wild fashion, but I'm thinking the man with more overness wins out here.

The Enforcers Vs
JettStream

I love me some Jacob Jett!

Steven Parker
Vs Johnny D

Although I like Johnny D, and feel he gets a bad rap from almost every booker it seems, Parker is the future.

Insanity
Vs James Michaels

Call it a personal choice.

Shinobi Nation Vs
Samoan Suffering

Shocking win for the wild brawlers.

Theodore Powell vs
Johnny Martin

Believe me, it was REALLY hard not to vote for Powell here (as I LOVE the guy; stemming back to my first PSW dynasty). That said, Martin is the bigger name of the two.

Taylor Morton
vs Remmy Psyche

Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to see you pull a balsy move and have Psyche start win a HUGE win but I just don't see it really happening. Why? Taylor Morton is key in ALL start-up companies. His overness, ability, and sweet character, make for a BIG impact player straight out of the gate.

Antonio Marquez
Vs Dorian Hellfire

I don't know Hellfire; so, I'll go with the cornellverse's most-loved free agent, Marquez.

Wow; thank you so much, again! It's great to get such good feedback so early on. I honestly didn't know how it was going to be recieved, which is why I've left so long between diary attempts, but thank you so much!

As for the names, I think it's important if you're going to try and create characters that are new and different for them not to have the same old names much like you. Little changes can be enough, Mikey James becoming James Michaels makes him seem less childish in my eyes, Insane Machine is too cartoony for this type of company so "Insanity" just fits better, changing the names of Ota and Kazuma allow me to hopefully put some distance between the team they are and the team they were...

Antonio Marquez Vs Dorian Hellfire

I don't know Hellfire; so, I'll go with the cornellverse's most-loved free agent, Marquez.

As for Dorian Hellfire, I know the picture doesn't really show it... And much like the exact same guy you used in your DOA diaries, I didn't realise who it was until much further down the line. The man who has previously been known as Johnny Vicious... It's Hell Monkey!

Thanks again for your feedback E-V. I've got the bug for this project, (much to the chagrin of my wonderful other half) but all in all I'm hoping to keep this going into the long term.

In that case.... change my prediction on the main event!!

VICIOUS!! VICIOUS!! VICIOUS!!

He lives again (at least in my heart). ;)

Live
Saturday, Week Four, February 2010

From
Wisconsin Gardens Arena

Attendance:
9,213

The inaugural Total Revolution Wrestling Pay-Per-View, Uprising, begins with pyro as “Uprising” by Muse plays out through the speakers. The nine thousand, two hundred and thirteen fans in attendance are going wild for the start of something new, something different. Our first vision of Total Revolution Wrestling is our Play by Play commentator, Steven Smith!

Smith:
Good evening ladies and gentlemen, my name is Steven Smith and I am here to welcome each and every one of you fine people to our first ever Pay Per View here for Total Revolution Wrestling, Uprising! Joining me at ringside this evening is the woman whose voice will charm your very minds! Miss Sara Silver!

Silver:
First of all, don’t try and schmooze me Smith; I won’t fall for it. Second of all, I have no intention of charming anyone; I will tell it how It is, when it is and what it is with a feminine view.

Smith:
Ahem; well… Ok, that being said, we have a fantastic night of action in store, and it would appear that we’re going to kick things off with the Total Revolution Wrestling General Manager; Mr. Eric Tyler!

The Opening Gambit

Eric Tyler

The music of Eric Tyler plays as the General Manager strides to the ring. Microphone in hand, he clearly means business as he climbs the steps into the ring. Standing dead centre, he allows the music to die down before he lifts the mic to his lips.

Tyler:
Ladies and gentlemen, tonight is a night to remember.

He takes a moment to allow the fans to sound their appreciation for the sentiment.

Tyler:
Keep your ticket stubs and your programs because one day, they will be worth a lot of moment. The beginning of the Revolution, the beginning of what will become something so big that no-one will ever be able to contain it. The Revolution; MY revolution.

Once more he pauses to gauge the reaction of the baying crowds.

Tyler:
My revolution begins tonight with nine fantastic matches that will involve superstars hand-picked by myself to be the future of this business. Rest assured, I have my eye on just who will be our stars of tomorrow, and I also know who will be the cannon fodder to ensure that happens.

He grins out to the fans in attendance.

Tyler:
I know my decisions won’t always be popular, but I can promise that they will always be right. Right for this company, right for this business and right for this revolution. As such, I can assure you that no-one on this roster will be a champion without my seal of approval. They don’t have to be my friend, my confidant, my ally; but they have to be right for the job. There is always room for chaff amongst the wheat my friends, but they will always be sorted in the end.

The boos begin to build, as Tyler clearly has favourites in mind for Championship gold.

Tyler:
So without further ado, ladies and gentlemen let us begin with what will be a fantastic opening contest with “The Prodigy” James Platinum, going one on one with…

He pauses as if choking on the words.

Tyler:
… “Mr. TRW” Steve Flash!

Without any further words, Tyler drops his mic and leaves the ring taking up a position at the Commentary desk for our opening contest.

</td></tr></table>

Silver:
Mr. Tyler, it’s great to have you joining us here at ringside.

Tyler:
And it’s great to be joining such a fine specimine as yourself.

Smith:
Will you be joining us for the entire evening, Eric?

Tyler:
“Will you be joining us for the entire evening,
Sir
?” And no; I’m here to watch our next match before I return to the back to perform my duties as General Manager

Smith:
Then let’s get to it! Our first ever TRW match, James Platinum Vs Steve Flash!

“The Prodigy” James Platinum
Vs
“Mr. TRW” Steve Flash

Our opening match of the evening was a cagey affair between two men at very different parts of their careers. The formerly named “Remarkable” Steve Flash, the leave-nothing-in-the-ring veteran of twenty years plus took the occasion to his younger, fresher and more in shape opponent. Whilst nothing can be said to chastise Flash’s in ring ability, the years certainly began to show as the match moved on. Flash looked to end it quickly with a number of quick pinfall attempts, whilst Platinum looked to use the outside of the ring to his advantage as often as possible to get a breather. This, eventually had the effect he was looking for in ensuring Flash couldn’t get any momentum, and finally “Mr. TRW” made a mistake.

Platinum worked over Flash, this time using his Chain Wrestling skills to wear down his more experienced and knowledgeable opponent. The match turned again as Prudence made the mistake of trying to mimic the flying abilities of his former Tag Team Partner going to the top rope and missing an attempt at an elbow drop.

Flash took control once more and seemed to have the match one as he hit the
. As he made the cover, the beautiful Angelique clamboured to the ring apron taking the eye of Senior Official Eugene Williams away from the pin. As Flash waited for the hand to slap the mat, he looked around and saw the distraction. Climbing to his feet, he tried to argue with Angelique who reared back for a slap. The referee, sensing this turn of events cut off the beautiful Valet leaving Flash to turn back to his opponent before receiving a swift forarm shot to the family jewels.

Moments later, Flash was on the receiving end of the
and the pinfall.

Smith:
No way! Not a chance! That’s ridiculous! Steve Flash had that match in the bag! Mr. Tyler, surely you can’t condone that kind of end to a match.

Silver:
Oh shut your mouth you pompous ass! That’s no more than utilizing the resources you have around you, wouldn’t you agree Mr. Tyler?

Tyler:
Please, call me Eric… And that’s exactly right Sara! This business is about winning matches, and if you’re not winning, you’re not doing something right!

Smith:
And I don’t think James Platinum is through with Steve Flash either!

James Platinum & Steve Flash

With Flash still out cold in the centre of the ring, James Platinum takes the microphone from the ring announcer that has just announced him as the victor. He kneels at Flash’s head, before lifting it up, squeezing his face hard between his fingers.

Platinum:
I’ve heard a lot about you Steve; that you’re Remarkable, that you’re “Mr. TRW”. I’ve heard all of the positive spin that’s been put on you, and why? Because you’re one of the so called legends of this business, because you’ve been a Tag Team Champion up North and you’ve held Championships all over this country. Well tonight, Steve, I’ve shown the world what you are; nothing more than a broken down, beaten up, fraud. A joke of a man who thinks he should have been more than he was and now wants to take one last hurrah.

Platinum backs off as the fans begin to show their disdain for his criticism.

Platinum:
This company is about Revolution, about something new, something fresh. Yet once again, here crawls in the canker that’s been rotting away this business for the last few years. Look at me Flash; I SAID LOOK AT ME!

Platinum drops the hold on Flash’s face and slaps him hard. His eyes open, groggy from the heavy landing he took on the back of his head.

Platinum:
Right now, you stare into the
face
of Revolution; into the face of all that is new about this business. I’m putting you on notice Steve, I’m happy to tell the world RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW! I will be the end of all that you think you are and all that you want to be. I will end you, Steve Flash, because if I don’t, this Revolution will be no more than a recycled old sentimental piece of junk; and I’m not willing to let that happen. I’m going to put you down Old Yeller; whether you like it or not.

Climbing back to his feet, Platinum drops the mic and raises his arms in victory as his music plays him out. </td></tr></table>

Smith:
Well I wasn’t expecting that, Mr. Tyler.

Tyler:
Clearly Young James Platinum knows how to make himself stand out. I can promise you one thing, if he can finally be the man to end Steve Flash, I can guarantee him a very bright future.

Silver
Mr. Tyler, it’s been a pleasure having you out here, and feel free to join us again anytime.

Tyler
Oh I’m sure I will, Sara, I’m sure I will.

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/TRW/Misc/Commercial.png

Smith:
Welcome back ladies and gentlemen, up next we have a match between the devastating Cerberus and Wayne Davis. How do you see this going Sara?

Silver:
I can see Wayne Davis being scraped off the mat at the end of this match; I saw Cerberus earlier today and I swear to god he was eating glass. He’s one tough SOB.

Smith:
That being said, Wayne Davis is a very talented young superstar who could well make waves with a victory! Let’s head back to the ring.

“The Gatekeeper” Cerberus
Vs
“The Natural” Wayne Davis

Two more different men could not be found in Total Revolution Wrestling. The mastodonic Cerberus, a brawler with the ability to destroy , taking on Wayne Davis, one of the most gifted all rounded prospects in the business.

It would appear, however, not only was Cerberus more powerful than his smaller opponent, but much more experienced. Little wasted motion from the big man, which considering age is probably a good thing, cutting off the ring and rarely allowing the youngster to use his speed advantage. This, however, was not for the want of trying, as he tried to hit and run, use the ropes, generally making himself a nuisance, the problem came that in the end, all he did was further anger his massive opponent.

In the end, Cerberus took control and dominated. A huge splash in the corner, pummelling’s left and right and a big boot that took the talented youngster to the outside. All seemed to be lost, he hadn’t moved as the count reached 7, yet it would appear the Gatekeeper had no intention of letting the match end like that. Pulling Davis to his feet and rolling him back in the ring, he waited patiently, his Prey in sight, staggering into position, before receiving a gift
. Three seconds later, the match was over.

Smith:
My goodness! What a monster! Cerberus is terrifyingly intense and ridiculously powerful! He almost turned Wayne Davis inside out!

Silver:
That was an impressive debut! Wayne Davis never stood a chance, and despite his skills in the ring, it didn’t matter. Cerberus was just too powerful!

Smith:
Sometimes skill and ability just aren’t… Wait; what the hell is going on!?

Carl Batch, Cerberus & Wayne Davis

As Smith and Silver were completing their post match analysis, Carl Batch had entered the ring. Leaning back on the ropes, he watches as Cerberus looked down at his fallen opponent who still had not moved a muscle. Slowly, The Gatekeeper raises his head to look at Batch across whose face a half smile had appeared. Slowly, he lifted his hand up into the air, extended his thumb and with that grin turning to a leer, turned the thumb down.

Almost instantly, Cerberus seemed to snap, as if even during the match he had been under some kind of wild control. Wayne Davis was dragged to his feet and slammed hard into the corner where, with the ferocity of a wild animal, Cerberus began to unload with lefts and rights into Davis’ full body before firing him into the opposite corner. As Davis hit the turn buckle hard, he staggered outwards slightly before being met From Hell once more but this time into the corner again! Crumpling to the mat like a poster of the man he once was, Cerberus who caught the eye of Batch who withdrew the thumb.

As if like magic, Cerberus was once again subdued, calm, yet still clearly dangerous. Batch begins to roar in thunderous laughter at the fallen Davis who lies motionless in a heap before he slaps The Gatekeeper on the arm and leads him out of the ring. </td></tr></table>

Smith:
The match was over damn it! There was no need to continue that beating!

Silver:
There’s something to be said about making a statement.

Smith:
What? “Look at me, I can attack a defenceless unconscious man”?

Silver:
Listen, after seeing what Batch controls, I ask you one question… Would you screw with him?

Smith:
Well, that is, what I mean to say is… I’m not… Well…

Silver:
I rest my case!

Smith:
Ladies and gentlemen, while the Wayne Davis is escorted from the ring, we have a few messages from our sponsors.

The Enforcers
Vs
JettStream

Eric Tyler’s personal bodyguards, The Enforcers, take time out from watching the door to his office by heading to the ring to take on one of the most exciting tag teams in TRW; JettStream. In a business where Tag Team Wrestling has started to decline over the past few years, these two teams look to step out onto the national stage and push on to the next level.

The match started out with The Enforcers in control, they dominated the opening exchange showing their greater tag team experience having been together for over four years. Their quick tags helped them to isolate Jake Jett in their corner and come close to gaining victory. A number of cheap tactics were employed to ensure this control continued with Waldorf slapping Shawn Stream when he was close to a tag, forcing Stream to take the attention of the referee allowing Jett to be pulled back across the ring. On another close tag occasion, Statler entered the ring preventing the referee from seeing the tag. Finally, following an inzaguri on Statler, Jett was able to get the hot tag and Shawn Stream exploded into action.

He used a number of drop kicks and springboard attacks to keep his larger opponents at bay, before climbing to the top rope to execute a fabulous frog cross body getting a two count on The Punishment. He continued to control the match and signalled to the crowd that it was time to end things. Statler, following a tag, was forced to the outside by Jett who then made the tag and returned to the ring in order to execute the
. As Jett leaped into the ring, Waldorf countered, sending Stream to the outside. Jett landed on his feet after a roll through, hit the ropes he was lifted high into the air for
… However, Jett managed to use his own momentum to slide down the back of Waldorf into a sunset flip for the 3!

Smith:
I don’t think you’re new friend, Mr. Tyler will be too happy with his boys losing that match!

Silver:
No-one ever said their job was to with, Smith, only to make sure that Mr. Tyler is protected.

Smith:
I suppose you have a point, no-one is as important to Eric Tyler, as Eric Tyler… Right now, let’s head backstage to The Doctor whose standing by!

The Doctor, Dharma & Remmy Psyche

We headbackstage to find The Doctor standing by with “The Adrenaline Junky” Remmy Psyche and “The Beautiful” Dharma.

Doctor:
Thank you Steven, I’m joined right now by the most exciting twosome in TRW right now, Remmy Psyche and Dharma; guys you’ve got to be so excited right now about this new beginning in TRW.

Dharma:
Are you kidding me Doc? Remmy and I have been talking about this night for weeks. Since the moment we got the call, all we can think about is getting into action and… Is there something you need?

The distraction is caused of course, by the appearance of the TRW General Manager who is standing just off camera before making his entrance.

Tyler:
Doc, I suggest you make yourself scarce, I have some business to attend to…

The Doctor quickly high tails it out of shot leaving just Tyler, Remmy and Dharma.

Tyler:
And you sweetheart…

Remmy holds up his hand.

Psyche:
Anything you have to say to me, you can say in front of Dharma.

Tyler’s jaw clenches, but seemingly he gives up on trying to argue.

Tyler:
Alright, Remmy, have it your way. I’m here to talk to you about your future here in TRW. I took a chance signing you; you were recommended by “The Network” as someone who could add some excitement to our company, but you don’t strike me as the kind of man who will happily toe the line.

Psyche:
Is that right?

Tyler:
Very much so; I meant what I said earlier Remmy. There is room for both the good and the bad here in Total Revolution Wrestling, but only those with my Seal of Approval will go on to become successful.

Psyche:
So what is it, exactly, that you’re saying.

Tyler:
I’m saying we have two options; you can do this the easy way, and join me. Take the Eric Tyler seal of approval and go about your business. When I need you, you come and see me and you do what I ask, when I jump you ask how high. In exchange, some day in the very near future, I will make you a Champion. A World Heavyweight Champion. Then there’s the hard way, in which you refuse my offer and become a thorn in my side. The hard way will mean you will become one of the problems I have to deal with, but I promise you one thing… You will never hold the World Heavyweight Championship while I’m around. So, Remmy, the choice is yours…

Psyche smiles for a moment, before whispering in Dharma’s ear.

Psyche:
You know something Eric, you’re not the best judge of character. I mean, even when you’re giving a big glaring clue like my nickname being “The Adrenaline Junky” you seem to have it in your mind that I would take the “easy” route and join you. Well, here’s the thing… I don’t do anything the easy way. Isn’t that right Dharma?

The beautiful sidekick of the Adrenaline Junky moves back into view.

Dharma:
You know something, Tyler? You’re the type of guy I’ve tried to avoid my whole life. A sleezy, arrogant jack ass who sees me as stacked, blonde bimbo without the ability to formulate a sentence. Well guess what, Eric? You want to learn about the “hard way”? Disrespect Remmy and I with a proposal like this again and I promise that you’ll find out just how high risk he is.

Remmy smirks at the stunned Tyler, clearly not expecting such a come back from either one. He and Dharma leave the scene, with Tyler looking angrier by the second. </td></tr></table>

Smith:
My my, this night is not going at ALL like Mr. Tyler had hoped! He’s been denied by Remmy and Dharma!

Silver:
Eric will get his man, the right man. Someone who deserves to be a champion, and that certainly isn’t Remmy Psyche after what we’ve just seen.

Smith:
Well up next we have another great match in store, let’s head back to the ring.

“The Awesome” Steven Parker
Vs
“The Party Animal” Johnny D

Our next match saw two great prospects squaring off, each equally talented but both with differing styles. Steven Parker, is clearly destined for great things, if you listen to his own hype. Whatsmore, he’s only waiting for one thing; the opportunity to use TRW as a stepping stone for something bigger and better. On the reverse side is Johnny D who, quite frankly, I’m not even sure is aware of where he is. Still, he’s a fun guy with bags of energy.

From the start of the match, Steven Parker looked to get advice from his management consultant, Emily Edwards at ringside. Johnny D, it seems, just wanted to party with the fans. Still, his offence was good and caused Parker all manner of problems with his high speed action really being difficult to ground. It was, of course, the attractive Miss Edwards that caused the first change of tide, by distracting the ever watchful Johnny D with a gentle wave. The referee was less than happy, but as she had not gotten physically involved, she would not be asked to leave ringside.

Parker took control with his ground and pound style, working on keeping the Party Animal on the ground. Several minutes of wearing down, and Parker looked set to wrap things up with a
, but this time the distraction of Emily Edwards did not help. In attempt to ensure Johnny had his back to Parker, she had this time blown him a kiss… However, as Parker lined up for the finish, Johnny gripped the rope and Parker hit the ground hard.

Finally seeming to wake from some kind of ethereal sleep, Johnny D suddenly realised what had been going on. Taking offence to the fake advances of Emily Edwards, he left the ring in hot pursuit, they did two laps of the ring before Parker found himself on the outside as well. The referee, not noticing the exit of Parker, was trying to get Edwards away from ringside. Stopping the chase, Johnny D allowed the referee to chastise the Executive Consultant as Parker finally hit the Big League Blitz on the outside of the ring. Before the referee even knew the 10 count had been broken, Parker was back in the ring. The referee got to 9 as Johnny pulled himself up to a standing base using the ropes, but he could not get back inside in time.

Winner of the match via Count Out following a Big League Blitz outside of the ring – Stephen Parker.

Emily Edwards, Steven Parker & Johnny D

Edwards:
Ladies and gentlemen, at this time I give to you… The Evolution of professional wrestling, “The Awesome” Steven Parker!

He crowd, seemingly unhappy with this statement, return their verdict.

Edwards:
Whilst his stay will be short in TRW, with superstardom clearly set in his sights, while he is here he will dominate his competition. Why? Because he has all of the tools to be the best of the best. Take tonight for example, his cunning and intellect made simple work of that idiot in the ring… Yes, Johnny, I’m talking about you…

At that moment, Johnny D had climbed back to his feet and turned to face the rampway from which Edwards and Parker were talking.

Edwards:
Face it Johnny, you didn’t stand a chance. You honestly thought that I was flirting with you? Are you serious? I mean look at the state of you… You’re a dancing idiot with all the charm of a mannequin, the whit of Steven Smith and the fun of a bikini wax. I used your little underdeveloped brain against you, Johnny, and you fell for it hook, line and sinker… In fact, what makes it even more hilarious is the fact that once you realised what I was doing, you still let Steven knock you out cold so you would get counted out.

The Party Animal, clearly looked in no mood to celebrate.

Edwards:
You got off easy tonight Johnny, because Steven Parker let you walk away from this fight. I would suggest, that before you decide to get back into this ring again, you select a challenge that is more befitting your abilities. Like, oh I don’t know, refereeing instead of fighting?

Johnny looks to exit the ring, but seeing this, Edwards holds up her hand.

Edwards:
Please don’t be offended Johnny; it’s nothing personal. It’s just my Executive opinion…

Laughing into the mic, Edwards and Parker leave ringside, quickly followed by Johnny D.

Silver:
Effective… Face it Stevie, they made a fool out of Johnny D, and he just didn’t like it.

Smith:
Maybe so, but their methods are less than moral. Ladies and gentlemen, please stay with us, we’ll be back after this commercial break.

The Doctor & Johnny Martin

Heading backstage, we once again find ourselves with The Doctor standing by, mic in hand

Doctor:
Thank you Steve, joining me at this time is none other than Mr. Hardcore himself, Johnny Martin! Johnny, let me be the first to say welcome to Total Revolution Wrestling.

Martin:
Thank you Doc.

Doctor:
Many people will be unsure as to what you’ve been doing since the demise of DaVE, but the question most people are asking is that why choose now to return to the National spotlight?

Martin smiles, his eyes focused on a point just above the camera.

Martin:
Why now? Because I got that feeling Doc; that feeling of a renegade, rag tag bunch of misfits coming together to create something new and exciting for these amazing fans. I got that never-say-die feeling of a man who knows he has something to give, who has something left, who has one more big run left. Why now? Because it was the moment etched in my fate… It was always going to happen.

An off screen round of applause begins to sound and Martin’s grin straightens into a poker face as a third person enters the screen.

The Money Talks…

http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx161/mikemelling/TRW/Male%20Roster/TheodorePowell.png

Theodore Powell

Powell:
Great speech Johnny; I used to remember those rousing chorus lines you used to pound out backstage at DaVE events. “We need to stick together, we need to be a family…” You know, the same line of crap you were just trying to feed to these fans right here tonight. I know why you’re back, Johnny…

Martin:
Is that right?

With a wily grin across his lips, Powell leans in closer.

Powell:
Yes; that’s right… The reason you’re back, is the same reason you bled DaVE dry right until the day it died. You need the money; see, I used to hold a lot of resentment towards you Johnny. In those days before DaVE disappeared into the mist, I used to tell Phil to forget about paying me until DaVE was straight. In the end, news filtered back that the company went under because guys like you and my former Tag Team Partner had tried to cash your pay cheques. That’s right Johnny, your GREED was what killed Danger and Violence Extreme. Yet here you are preaching about coming back for these people. Well here it is, Johnny, the truth in front of you. I took what little money I had left and I invested it. I invested it in the right places and now I can afford to do this because I love it. You? You’re no more than broke no-body, doing whatever he can to survive. The irony is that when you and I face off tonight, despite the truth, these people will cheer you and boo me. I guess it’s true what they say, misery does love company.

Without another word, Powell turns and walks away, leaving Martin stood, jaw clenched, clearly fuming.

Smith:
What an interesting exchange between DaVE Alumni!

Silver:
And it would appear the truth hurts! Did you see quality of Powell’s ring gear? Johnny Martin is still wearing the same trunks he wore in DaVE 8 years ago!

Smith:
I don’t care what the reason is; Johnny Martin puts his body on the line every night and I respect that! Ladies and gentlemen, the match between those two men is coming up a little later, but up next we have two more teams from our exciting Tag Team division.

Shinobi Nation
Vs
Samoan Suffering

Our next contest looked to showcase two more of the teams from our Tag Division here in TRW. One one side of the ring, if you can see them of course, were the Ninja Warriors that are, Shinobi Nation. On the opposite side of the ring, we have a team biting, clawing and snarling, much to the happiness of the fans, looking to take apart the black clad, mask wearing duo in Samoan Suffering. The match started off as would be expected with The Ninja’s using their training to keep a distance from their larger, scarier opponents.

Their offence consisted of a cat and mouse chase as they used the underneath of the ring to avoid capture and attack. In the end, with Kancho unable to warn his partner, the Savage duo seemed to learn from previous mistakes and both went under opposite sides of the ring, trapping Kishu between them. Moments later, Eloni emerged with Kishu in toe and thus begin several minutes of severe beatings. Eloni and Tane seemed happy to play with their food, decimating Kishu with everything in their arsenal including Eloni’s
and Tane’s
.

At this moment, a number of strange yet somewhat interesting things seemed to happen at once. Firstly, it was noticed that Kancho had disappeared from the far side of the ring by everyone EXCEPT the referee nor the Samoans. The next thing that happened was that, for no explicable reason, Tane seemed to fall from the apron and hit his head upon it. Thirdly, as the referee and Eloni checked on the fallen Tane, Kishu was dragged from the ring and replaced with Kancho. As both were wearing identical outfits and masks, there was no way to know the difference and as Eloni turned back to face his opponent, he was met with a step up
! The referee, none the wiser to any of the previous steps leading to this moment, counted the three as Tane attempted to break up the pin.

Back in the ring, Kishu and Kancho seem determined to continue the attack. This time, however, rather than taking on the Samoan’s in hand to hand combat, they return with their weapons of choice. In the hands of Kishu, a Kendo stick, with which he beats both Eloni and Tane around the head, shoulder and body until it has splintered into a thousand pieces. At this point, Kacho looks set to take over, in his hands he holds a pair of Nunchaku. He slowly circles, taking a moment to drink in the atmosphere, lining up ready to attack when…

JettStream

Bursting down the aisle to the ring spring JettStream armed with steal chairs! They slide into the ring as Kishu and Kancho make their escape into the crowd and way out of sight. Back in the ring, Stream and Jett discard the chairs and Jett picks up the broken Kendo stick. It is, of course, at this point that Samoan Suffering begin to get to their feet. With JettStream looking away from them, they see the Kendo stick in hand. Putting two and two together to make eight thousand nine hundered and forty six, they assume that it was JettStream that attacked. Jake and Shawn turn around to be hit with the Suffering and Samoan Slam in turn. The crowd are unsure how to react as the Samoans yell and scream before leaving the ring.

Smith:
Looks like a simple case of mistaken identity that went horribly wrong Sara!

Depends on your Point of View; I mean, I’m sure it went perfectly for Shinobi Nation. JettStream are unlikely to come to the Samoan’s aid next time.

“Mr. Money” Theodore Powell
Vs
“The Hardcore Icon” Johnny Martin

In their DaVE days, the paths of Johnny Martin and Theodore Powell didn’t really cross. Powell was part of a hugely exciting tag team, while Johnny Martin was occupied with winning Singles gold. It was, however, likely that should DaVE have continued, these two would have met at some point. Now, it has taken an entrance into Total Revolution Wrestling for it to happen in our own homes.

The match started off at a slow pace with Johnny Martin working his slow, brawling style, mainly sticking to punches and boots, while Powell looked to utilise his speed. Martin was, in the beginning more successful, being able to grind his opponent down with a high impact style. Martin’s ability was not so much in wrestling Powell, but keeping him from getting into any kind of rhythm. Martin’s slow style suited him and meant he was less likely to make mistakes. Less likely, however, doesn’t mean unlikely, and eventually Powell took over.

Several high impact Drop kicks and springboard moves had Martin reeling. Martin almost found himself on the wrong side of a count out when he was knocked off the apron onto the announce table. At the count of 8, he made it back to the ring only to find Powell back on the outside. He used the ten count to mock Mr. Hardcore, setting up a table just outside of the ring, asking Martin to come out and fight. In the end, Martin gave in and made chase, Powell slid inside and turned around to find Martin had outsmarted him! He’d slid in earlier and caught Powell off guard!

Martin took control once more, beating down Powell softening him up for the
. However, as Martin lifted Powell into the air, his flailing foot caught the referee in the face knocking him backwards. Powell fought out of the move with a number of elbows and dropped to his feet. As Martin staggered and turned, Powell reached into his shorts and pulled something out before hitting what he would come to call
! Martin fell like a stone to the mat, and Powell made the cover. After a few seconds, the referee recovered, and despite a slow count he slapped the canvas thrice.

Johnny Martin & Theodore Powell

Theodore Powell is celebrating in the ring, playing up to the fans, not realising that Johnny Martin is back up to his feet. The cheers, he assumes, are for him, having changed the minds of the thousands in attendance, that is until he turns around. Raising his hands up in the air, he protests that the match is over and that should be it. Martin, with his jaw still clearly hurting, looks to get angrier and angrier. Suddenly, he explodes, exchanging rights and lefts with Powell.

The two continue to slug away at one another before Martin gets the upper hand, backing Powell up against the ropes over which the table is set up. Be backs up and runs at Powell who manages to duck and pull the ropes down. Martin flies over the top but manages to hold on! The crowd go wild as Powell stands straight only to receive 4 stiff blows to the jaw himself! Martin hooks Powell for a suplex and lifts him up in the air! Powell struggles and Martin drops him back to the mat.

Finally, Powell swings his right knee north connecting with Martin’s groin. He backs up, turns around, reaches back into his shorts, turns again and boom! Money Talks… As if in slow motion, Johnny Martin falls backwards and crashes through the table. Powell smiles, having dropped to his knees, at the carnage he’s caused. Finally, as staff run from the back to check on Mr. Hardcore, Powell leaves ringside victorious.

“The Burning” Taylor Morton
Vs
“The Adrenaline Junky” Remmy Psyche

Our Semi-Main Event of the evening see’s two men with very similar high flying risk taking styles due to clash. On one side of the ring we have the Carl Batch lead Taylor “The Burning” Morton taking on the Dharma accompanied “Adrenaline Junky” Remmy Psyche. This match had been one all had been waiting for, an exciting, explosive, high paced contest, and I can promise it didn’t disappoint.

The opening minutes of the match saw the two men feel one another out, checking one another’s pace, finding a firm footing with neither really taking any control. If anything, the match was a real seesaw occasion with neither man managing to hit the big move required to take the lead. From ringside, both Batch and Dharma shouted encouragement and advice, but nothing either man did could separate one from the other. It was, in the end, a little outside help that started to tip the tide as Batch tripped Remmy who fell awkwardly and hurt his knee. The referee, however, saw this blatant cheating and sent Carl Batch from ringside, much to Steve Smith’s pleasure.

It wasn’t all positive for team Psyche, however, as Morton was in firm control. Morton’s airel assault had been dissuade by the trip from Batch and Morton was now playing with his food. Taking a break from the high flying antics, Morton worked on his opponents knee, including an impressive springboard leg guillotine over the top rope to the outside that not only did further damage to Psyche but also sent him springing back into the middle of the ring where he hit hard. Morton looked on more than one occasion to finish the match as a contest, but Morton wouldn’t give up. And in the end, the frustrated Morton made a mistake and Psyche was back in it.

He took control and took the fight to Morton, a number of one legged high flying moves including a very nice springboard DDT that set up Morton for Psyches finishing move,
. Due to the bad leg, Psyche took longer than normal to get to the top and dived as best he could, but no-one was home. Morton was back to his feet and as Psyche staggered up to his one leg he was hit with
. Morton rolled into the cover for the one, two, thre… NO! Psyche got his foot on the rope… An insensed Taylor Morton shuffled back, clearly shocked, both men get to their feet once more, Morton measuring the Acid Rain Drop one more time and... BOOM! His foot raises north into the groin of Psyche. Remmy falls forward and Morton catches him not letting him fall, before shoving him hard to the mat and leaving the ring.

Smith:

He did; he just told Remmy the truth… He can beat him anytime he wants to, he just didn’t want to.

Smith:
Are you kidding? He clearly didn’t think he could beat Psyche! That’s why he hit the low blow… Wait; what’s this?

Antonio Marquez III, Jennifer Marquez & Remmy Psyche

As Remmy Psyche is being helped backstage by Dharma and the trainers, the music of “El Ultimo Rey” Antonio Marquez III begins to play, and he makes his way out onto the ramp with his wife, the beautiful Jennifer Marquez in toe. In his hand he holds a mic, his music quickly dies down.

Marquez:
Obtener este pedazo de basura fuera de mi camino, tengo un partido para ganar ... For those of you, too ignorant to learn another language, I will translate… I said, get this peice of trash out of my way, I have a match to win…

He smiles widely, glaring at Remmy who moves to interact with Marquez but who is held back by the trainers and Dharma.

Marquez:
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the world of El Ultimo Rey, the Last King of Mexico… My name, is Antonio Marquez III and I am your king. Whilst I understand, we’re not in Mexico, nobility does not stop at the borders. You see, each and every one of you grasa perros feos, will have been, or wanted to go to the country of my birth… The Tequilla, the food, the women…

He turns and places his hand on the face of Jennifer at his side.

Marquez:
… Are all vastly superior to that of what you have here in the United States. My friends, I am here to educate you on just what it is like to be as noble, as attractive and as rich as Antonio Marquez… And why, I hear you ask, am I here to do such a thing? Because I believe in giving back to those who are less fortunate in every single way than myself. So ladies and gentlemen, sit back, relax the last few enjoyable hours you have before you must return to your miserable unfulfilling lives and watch a real life King teach you in the art of wrestling. Todos ustedes son muy bienvenidos!

Grinning wide, Marquez drops his mic on the ground and enters the ring.

“El Ultimo Rey” Antonio Marquez III
Vs
“The Oncoming Storm” Dorian Hellfire

In our Main Event of the evening, we find ourselves with one hell of a contest on our hands. The Oncoming Storm, Dorian Hellfire taking on the Last King of Mexico, Antonio Marquez. This match started off equal with neither man having an advantage, and unlike earlier tonight, Jennifer Marquez had no bearing on the match whatsoever. Hellfire took the early advantage, using his superior brawling skills to take the fight to Marquez.

After several minutes of attacks, Marquez came back using a good mix of technical and high flying abilities in order to dampen the quality of Hellfire’s brawling. Their exchanges quickly started equalling out again with neither man truly getting any advantage. Back and forth the match went until Marquez finally gained control. Keeping Hellfire from utilising his brawling skills appeared key, and while both men looked to take chances, it was Marquez honed flying skills that caused most problem. A number of successive two counts brought Marquez close to victory.

Another switch came in the second half of the match when the fight was taken to the outside. Marquez almost knocked his wife off her feet after she had tried to distract Hellfire. The Oncoming Storm took complete control of the match as they brawled again back and forth on the outside. Hellfire quickly returned to the ring following him nailing his
on the outside. Jennifer, however, earned her stripes by waking Marquez up and getting him back on track and back in the ring.

This, it would appear, was a blessing in disguise as Hellfire picked up his game with a number of big springboard moves of his own! Once more he signalled for and hit the Hellfire kick! The crowd fully expected victory, as did Hellfire himself, it was only Jennifer Marquez once more that proved the difference lifting her husband’s foot onto the bottom rope. The referee didn’t see this, but Hellfire did and he went crazy. The referee forced him to stay in the ring, and this intervention almost cost him. A roll up later and Hellfire was on the receiving end of a two count! Climbing back to his feet, he went for the Hellfire Kick for a third time, but Marquez ducked it, turned on a button and nailed Hellfire with
. He crawled into a pin, and as the referee struck the canvas for the third time, rolled back off onto the mat.

The closing image of our show, our first ever Pay Per View was that of the exhausted duo that had left it all in the ring. One man victorious in the battle, but both looking like they had lost the war.

By Jefferson Carmichael

Monday, Week 1, March 2010

In my opinion, last night we did indeed see something new, different and revolutionary. Total Revolution Wrestling and the Arcadia Media Group presented TRW Uprising, live on Pay-Per-View from the Wisconsin Garden Arena, and whilst it was hardly the most polished or star studded event, it did what it intended to do; it got my attention.

The night started out with a strong Promo from
Eric Tyler
who showed us his role; a bad guy Authority figure off which all other characters could bounce -
62/100

This was followed by a very good piece of booking; a strong opening contest letting us see what exactly we had in store for us with
James Platinum
taking on and defeating
Steve Flash
70/100

Immediately following this contest, it would appear a nice little “youth vs experience” angle seemed to kick in with the egotistical young
James Platinum
, vowing to end the veteran,
Steve Flash
’s career –
62/100

Up next we saw the monstrous
Cerberus
, demolish and defeat
Wayne Davis
. While I don’t agree with wasiting Davis’ abilities, while he’s relatively unknown he will do well to put over his older, much more effective opponent -
47/100

Again, immediately following the previous contest, we were treated to the decimation of
Wayne Davis
at the behest of one
Carl Batch
.
Cerberus
did a good job of acting the crazed psychopath and the calm sadist all in one night -
52/100

Our next contest saw the exciting
JettStream
take on and defeat Eric Tyler’s
Enforcers
. The ending to this match could well have been an opportunity to create a feud, well, you’ll see what’s coming later on -
58/100

Backstage, we found
Eric Tyler
offering
Remmy Psyche
the chance to join him and essentially be guaranteed the World Heavyweight title. Remmy’s refusal was emphatic, as was
Dharma
’s warning to the General Manager -
58/100

Two of TRW’s hottest prospects in
Steven Parker
and
Johnny D
took on one another with a great opportunity to showcase their abilities and showcase them they did. A good solid match with the chance to move on to bigger things -
62/100

Post match,
Steven Parker
mocked
Johnny D
for being easy to manipulate, which he had shown during the match. Whether or not this becomes a feud, or just a blow off match further down the line –
55/100

The halfway point of the show promised to be a fantastic match between
Insanity
and
Michael James
. The two seemed to bounce off one another so well, and the ending was beautiful with neither man getting the win -
73/100

The introduction of
Johnny Martin
was rudely interrupted by
Theodore Powell
who wanted to throw out a few home truths and, from what I hear, a lot of those home truths are seemingly correct, hence the reason Johnny Martin doesn’t take a night off -
56/100

The second tag team match of the evening saw the
Shinobi Nation
defeating
Samoan Suffering
with somewhat nefarious means. The old fashioned switch-a-roo, leaving both of their opponents without a clue what was going on, leading to a victory for the Ninja’s -
60/100

Post-match, the Ninja’s seemed to want to inflict further punishment on their rivals for Tag team gold. Bringing their favoured weapons to the dance, the look to take the Samoans out. Kishu worked his opponents with the Singapore Cane before
JettStream
made the save. Of course, this save didn’t last long as the Samoans got their wires crossed and attacked JettStream who they thought had attacked -

Following their confrontation earlier,
Theodore Powell
took on
Johnny Martin
in what had quickly became a grudge match. Their contrasting styles seemed to strangely complement one another, and Powell gained an unlikely, yet controversial victory -
54/100

Post match, the table that had been set up during the match started to make sense. A back and forth brawl between the two men, ended with a flashback to DaVE with
Johnny Martin
falling backwards following a shot from
Theodore Powell
with a pair of Brass Knuckles through the table.

With the right scenario, a match between
Remmy Psyche
and
Taylor Morton
could actually be pretty epic. Limiting these two to a ring, without anything to pay off of, limited what they could do. The match in of and itself was good, but it could have been great -

Our final angle of the evening proceeded our Main Event, and we got an absolute treat. It may have been an introduction and a statement of intention, but
Antonio Marquez
is a natural for leading the line on live TV. He could well be the biggest Latino star that professional wrestling has ever seen -
75/100

Our Main Event of the evening was a match that would have fit on any TV show in the whole of North America, Canada or Mexcio. It was a fantastic contest that showed just how good Total Revolution Wrestling really could be. Marquez was the first heel of the night to win relatively clean, he escaped Three Hellfire kick attempts, and his King Maker finisher was big with the fans. Dorian Hellfire was fantastic and explosive; it was a really great contest -

My overall thoughts? The show was fantastic; and yes, I know my scores don’t show it, but think about it. If I give this show the type of grades it would have gotten if it had been placed on SWF or TCW TV then that’s building up the hype way too far, way too quick. Also, I have a feeling that there’s a lot more to come from TRW. If the Main Event of this contest had been the Main Event of TCW Total Mayhem, or SWF Supreme Challenge, it would have been a 90-95/100 hundred match. The problem was a lack of hype, a lack of build-up, a lack of ready-made star power. It was, however, a contest that was one of the best I’ve seen on TV or Pay Per View in the last year, and I will admit, it has me excited. My score for TRW Uprising?

A C+, just… A pass, but a good pass. I expect to see more, to see better as we build up to the next TRW Pay-Per-View… The Lord of the Ring! Ladies and gentlemen, join me next week for a review of the first ever edition of TRW Total Revolution TV!
