WWE: January 2011 - Raw v. Smackdown

Note:

Hello everyone. I thank you for coming to read my diary. This diary is a little bit of a different concept here so I wanted to come to you and let you know a little bit at the beginning.

In this diary, I will be handling both Raw and Smackdown. The decision has been made to keep these two distinct brands so that there is very little, if any, cross-over between the two, making this a true brand split. The only difference is that both shows will have matches on the pay-per-views. Though there will not be too many cross-over matches as those will only happen on special occassions.

The war is true and strong and following each week there will be a survey to you, the WWE Universe, where you get to decide which show did better that week: Raw or Smackdown? Of course the winner will have bragging rights for that week.

I guess you could call this one: Bragging Rights Part 2

Miz isn't losing the title on the first show to Morrison of all people, this match was great though.

Seems like a squash.

This was back when Truth annoyed the crap out of me.

Ted DiBiase and Maryse vs. Santino Marella and Tamina

Unless you plan on re-inventing Santino I can't see him winning much.

Not sure how close you're staying to real life but after Miz cheated to beat Orton at TLC I think he gets the shot but I'm unsure how Cena comes into it, whether he feuds with Punk or you make it a triple threat, going to guess Orton.

Jackson Andrews, at this time, was a wrestler brought in to be the bodyguard for Tyson Kidd. He has since been released by WWE in real life.

Not sure how close you're staying to real life but after Miz cheated to beat Orton at TLC I think he gets the shot but I'm unsure how Cena comes into it, whether he feuds with Punk or you make it a triple threat, going to guess Orton.

Glad you remember and enjoyed the first Bragging Rights. Though this one is going to be a little more time consuming for me since I'm running both brands.

I am going off what happened in real life. Even did some research to find out what happened the week prior on the Raw and Smackdown shows so that I had the right matches that were booked the week prior.

Much as I'd like to see JoMo take it, I don't think you're going to change up the status quo THAT much on the very first show of the year.

I actually do recall Andrews, I think his partnership with Kidd can lead to a nice little HBK/Diesel-esque midcard run for the two of them. Expect shenanigans in this one.

Justin Gabriel vs. R-Truth

Justin is still riding the wave of Nexus here, winning over Truth can put him in line for some potential title shots.

Ted DiBiase and Maryse vs. Santino Marella and Tamina

I almost dare you to make DiBiase worth something in this world.

Cena was still kinda feuding with the Nexus if memory serves me, so Orton vs Miz is an easy scapegoat feud for the Rumble until Cena is free and clear for Mania.

You're stepping into my territory when you talk about the WWE Championship. Last month at TLC I was screwed out of my title rematch. If it wasn't for Alex Riley, I would be standing here the WWE Champion. If anyone is going to get a title match at Royal Rumble, it is going to be me, John. I deserve my rematch with The Miz and if you get the title shot over me? Well, John, I will have no problem with taking you out by kicking you right in the head like I have done to so many others within the past." John Cena "Now, let me see, we have two people here who have a legitimate case for getting a title match. Whatever, shall we do now? I think I know what we're going to do tonight. ["AWESOME!"] [The crowd's cheers turn to boos as out from the back walks the WWE Champion The Miz along with his associate Alex Riley. The Miz and A-Ri, though, stay at the top of the entrance ramp. But that doesn't mean The Miz doesn't have a microphone.] The Miz "Really? Really? Really? Do you really think that both of you have legitimate cases to face me? Really? I think that I am on such a level above both of you that any match against either one of you would be boring. Almost as boring as it would be for the two of you to face each other tonight. The former Tough Enough III winner scores several near falls both inside and outside the ring. Morrison catches Miz with what was formerly known as a Nitro Blast, a superkick, and makes the cover: 1 -- 2 -- Kickout! Morrison climbs up onto the guardrail and goes for the Starship Pain off the guardrail but Miz is pulled out of the way by Alex Riley, giving Morrison a harsh landing outside the ring. Riley removes the pads outside the ring and helps The Miz to his feet. The Miz sees Morrison slowly getting to his feet and moves in behind him -- Skull Crushing Finale on the concrete! This match was a distinct brawl that saw Andrews getting in some shots early on Henry but once Henry took the advantage, he maintained it, powering Andrews down again and again. He catches Andrews with a big splash in the corner and then picks him up in position for the World's Strongest Slam. Instead, though, he gets nailed by Tyson Kidd coming off the top turnbuckle with a kick to the head! The referee immediately calls for the disqualification.] Winner: Mark Henry (Via Disqualification @ 5:11) Match Rating: C [Tyson Kidd goes after Mark Henry's legs with kicks again and again. He chops the big redwood tree down to the mat as Jackson Andrews recovers from the beating he took during the match. Kidd has Andrews hold Henry down and he moves outside the ring. He uses the ropes as a springboard coming down on Henry with a springboard legdrop! Kidd plays to the crowd, drawing in boos from those in attendance here. Gabriel tries to escape outside the ring but he is caught with a springboard cross body from R-Truth! Back inside the ring, R-Truth sends Gabriel to the ropes and lowers his head too early such that Gabriel flips over him and brings him down with a Russian Legsweep. Gabriel turns it into a pinfall, hooking the pants of R-Truth: 1 -- 2 -- 3! Well, John-Boy, you don't get to decide when I'm done with you. I get to make that decision and I haven't quite humiliated you enough. [There is a pause while CM Punk gives that arrogant smile, sitting there in the middle of the ring. His eyes are focused on the entrance and 'The Time Is Now' begins to play. Punk's smile grows as John Cena walks out from the back. Cena gives his trademark salute and then comes jogging right down to the ring, sliding inside as CM Punk stands up, offering Cena a second microphone.] John Cena "Alright, CM Sucks, I'm out here. What do you want?" [CM Punk motions toward the back and out from the back comes The Nexus one by one! The crowd boos as out walks David Otunga, Heath Slater, Husky Harris, Justin Gabriel and Michael McGuillicutty! The Nexus members surround the ring with Cena looking ready to fight, hands curled into fists and by his side.] CM Punk "Before we beat you down for the second week in a row, John, I wanted to give you an invitation. No, I don't want you in the Nexus. We already went through that and you proved that you cannot be a team player. So what I am offering you is an escape clause this one time. [Cena looks for a moment toward where the escape is. He can walk away and not take a beating. Michael Cole says if he is smart then he will walk away and live to fight another day. At this point, Kofi will remain as "guy who doesn't quite make it". You can change that, but I don't think it'll be just yet.

Rhodes isn't solid enough for this, Show is face... that leaves Swagger for this one.
