Late night posts from me... Nuclear wouldn't be an SK, he'd be a bomb. Attack him and he's going to make you suffer for it at least as badly as you make him suffer... leave him alone and he's gonna leave you alone. A nice townie role for Nuclear... Coach on the other hand, he'd be a tough one to predict where he'd land. Possibly an indy of some sort out to make himself some cash.

So, work has decided to cut down on the time I normally use to do League stuff this week, with me losing most of my standard match-writing time to an absolutely BS training thing on Tuesday. Most of my job work will have to be done on Monday, which means that finalizing database stuff may not get done on my usual schedule.

So instead, I'm just gonna say [censored] it and push the show back a day. Means that yes, once again the show will be posted on Wednesday. But I'd rather not take the chance in missing something in the updates and PM's that could affect the matches run.

Training deadline is still tomorrow evening. For those folks asking about a moveset, I'll try to get to you tomorrow with an answer for your specific questions.

[it's the second "Rivalry Week" of the season, and the crowd in Wolverhampton has turned out in force for the end of the first half of the season. Instead of going to our ringside team as is normal, we instead head right for the ring to get the action underway this week.]

The lights in the arena go pitch black, as red lasers and spotlights light up the area. The video screen lights up and flashes across the screen, "Nothing survives my sting!" The crowd starts booing as Dave Mustaine's voice echoes throughout the arena, "I am the Scorpion, whoa!" The jeering intensifies as a mash-up of "I Stand Alone" and "Amazing" hits the speakers, drawing out the former Legacy Pro Wrestling champion. Walking down the aisle, he talks trash the entire way while raising a fist at a few of the more vocal bashers. As he finally gets to the ring, he climbs the nearest turnbuckle and stares down the aisleway, an icy glare and the throat slash gesture his only actions as he drops to the mat.

Amelia Williams: Ladies and gentlemen, this is our opening contest, scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Houston, Texas, weighing 256 pounds...Her Goddess Selket's favorite Arachnid, The King of Sting, The Venomous One and Only... he is "The Scorpion" Scott Stevens!

Bob Sinclair: Good evening, everyone, and welcome to what is sure to be an action-packed episode of The League! We're not wasting any time tonight, as we start with one of the more heated rivalries in The League!

Tori Montgomery: The last time these two faced each other, Stevens suffered his first career loss to III, and you can bet that Stevens is looking to use III as nothing more than a warm-up headed into LPW's first show on Thursday.

Frankie Garnett: No way Scorp loses to the twerp twice in a row, Tori. No way whatsoever!

Two bagpipe players come out, playing the Scottish funeral dirge "Coronach" as fog covers the entranceway. Riding on a white horse is III, wearing a Grim Reaper rope and holding a scythe in one hand, pointed at the ring as his horse slowly walks to the ring. Behind him are two women carrying bouquets of orchids. III leads the procession to the announce table, the women placing the flowers on the table, as does III with the scythe, before he dismounts the horse and removes the robe, rolling in the ring and doing a limb breaking motion while never taking his eyes off of Stevens.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from The Third Altar of the Third Tier of the Third Pyramid, weighing 199 pounds...III!

Bob Sinclair: Due to his win in week one, III is currently the leader of this pairing despite equal records. A win here guarantees him the tie-breaker over Stevens.

Tori Montgomery: He's mentioned something to me about an Owl's Death Grip, something that he made a reference to before their Week One contest. We might see that in this match, as he continues to try to get in the head of Stevens,

Tori Montgomery: She has her work cut out for her, given the random draw system in effect...what in the heck?!

Tori's random question does have some merit, as a female jumps the railing and heads into the ring. She shoves Jayde violently, sending the manager out of the ring, and immediately uses a Thesz press to send the LPW Champion to the mat, lashing away with right hands!

Bob Sinclair: Wait, that's—

Frankie Garnett: That's Lisa Stevens! And she brought a referee with her!

Tori Montgomery: For crying out loud, this is how Scott Stevens looks to circumvent the system?!

Saying his name seems to summon him, as Stevens runs down from the entrance to the ringside area. Scott begins to stomp away on Jayde, who is trying to defend herself as best she can, while in the ring Lisa Stevens goes for the eyes of Diamond, blinding the LPW Champion temporarily. Lisa gets to her feet, mocking Diamond to do the same as the champ slowly tries to recover her vision. It's in vain, though, as Lisa comes out of the corner with a vile superkick, sending Diamond to the mat. Cover by the challenger:

Both Lisa and Scott start to berate the official, who maintains that it was only a two-count. Scott is so upset that he climbs onto the apron, and hops onto the top rope, springing off with a clothesline to send the official down! Not content with this, he locks in his Venomous Wrath of the Goddess Selket on the hapless official, who is crying out in pain and tapping the mat wildly to no avail. Lisa goes back over towards Diamond, but quickly changes tactics as she sees another figure running down the ramp. She shouts at Scott, who finally recognizes the danger incoming and releases the crossface submission hold on the referee. In the next minute, Scott is taken down via springboard hurricanrana, as III comes in to even the playing field a bit. Scott and III begin to brawl, eventually sending the both of them out of the ring.

Back inside the ring, Lisa seems to grow more confident as she sizes up Diamond for what could be the final blow. Diamond seems to be out of it as she gets to all fours, but the camera can barely pick up a nod from her as she looks across the ring, where Jayde has entered under the bottom rope. Lisa screams for Diamond to get up so she can end this, but screams in a totally different manner a moment later as Jayde gets to her feet, grabs Lisa by her hair, and yanks backward, causing the back of Lisa's head to impact the bent knee of Jayde. Lisa collapses, writhing in pain as she holds the back of her head, and Diamond gets to her feet, a smile on her face. Jayde waves to the back for another official to come to the ring as Diamond locks in the first part of her Florentine submission...but instead of the bridge that normally follows, she reaches back and violently tugs at Lisa's hair, effectively making the bridge that way. A second official gets in the ring, and immediately asks Lisa if she wants to give it up. Lisa shouts no, and Diamond yanks back on the hair even harder. For a brief moment, Lisa almost looks bent in half...and then the hair comes off in Diamond's hand. With the lack of pressure, Lisa's face slams into the mat, and she lies motionless, still trapped in the submission hold. The ref takes one look and quickly calls for the bell, seeing that Lisa is knocked out.

Amelia Williams: Here is your winner, and still the Legacy Pro Wrestling Champion...Diamond!

The champ releases the hold (after kicking Lisa in the ribs once for good measure), rolling outside to grab her title belt and vault the barrier, exiting through the crowd before anyone else can think to take advantage.

Bob Sinclair: It has gotten chaotic out here!

Frankie Garnett: Who cares about that, can we get an E.M.T. out here for Lisa?!

Tori Montgomery: I hate ot agree with Frankie on this one, but he's right. Lisa Stevens needs medical attention; she may have a broken nose or a concussion, or both from that assault.

As they reach the bottom of the ramp, Nuclear grabs the Tag Team Title belt off his shoulder and raises his arms in the air, causing twin mushroom clouds to explode on the entrance stage before he slides into the ring, ready to go.

If Houston loses twice to Indy, but still has a better overall record than the Colts and wins the division, then Houston gets in the playoffs. If the Colts swept the Texans, but the overall record was tied at the end of the season, the Colts would get in due to head-to-head tiebreaker. Same rule here. If, say, you win out the rest of the season, and III loses two matches, you'd be in due to better record. (12-5 vs. 11-6) If you end up tied in overall record, he'd be in due to head-to-head tiebreaker (which has always been the first League tiebreaker). It's just this season, there's an odd number of matches per pairing, so AMR and such don't come into play until I need to seed the playoff bracket because head-to-head cannot end at 1-1 this time around.
