Night of Champions II Results- Dec 2011

Occasional Z 6/6

Boltinho5/6

Jaded 5/6

Excellent work from all of you, but Occasional correctly predicted the main event and he wins another "You are Dunton Hall" Card.

I will be taking a break for a day or two to give card holders input on the draft of the inaugural Welsh Wrestling League.

I have rolled my RTG end of year event and as it would immediately cause me to fail a critical goal I have been taking the liberty of assuming that Mr Hall will allowed me to delay it a month or two.

A well earned break, no doubt - this dynasty moves very quickly!

In terms of the Welsh Wrestling League, I'd have Red Dragon with Flanagan. Makes sense in storyline terms.

Jan 2012 - Face Draft

Welsh Wrestling League Face Draft

The two face franchises are the Eagles (owned by Phil Bescott) and the Tigers (owned by Robert Etchinson)

The Draft (Face version)

1. TIGERS draft Johnny Highspot. Going for veteran leadership there

2. EAGLES draft Nigel Svensson. The submission specialist and technical phenom.

3. EAGLES draft the Elimination Agents tag team, Draco Macbeth and William Macbeth. Two decent singles wrestler AND an experienced tag team.

4. TIGERS draft the Dartmoor tag team. Inexperienced tag team but they have an awful lot of potential.

5. TIGERS draft DJ Turtle (Young Dragon). Getting some gold in the team.

6. EAGLES draft Bali Daljit. Not sure about that pick...

7. EAGLES draft Geena the Warrior Princess.

8. TIGERS draft Cannonball Logan.

9. TIGERS draft Nina the Psycho Ballerina.

10. EAGLES draft Kalu Osuwu.

Eagles select Emma Evans to be their manager, so Tigers get Bethany Hurst. So to summarize:

Jan 2012- Heel Draft

Welsh Wrestling League Heel Draft

The two heel franchises are the Sharks (owned by Randy Garcia) and the Devils (owned by Ken "Full House" Flanagan).

The Heel Draft

1. SHARKS pick Glen Ward. The angry man’s rampant ego will doubtless be very happy with that.

2. DEVILS pick Menace. Many people’s likely number one, Flanagan will be happy to pick him up to be the Devil’s main enforcer.

3. DEVILS pick Red Dragon. The Dragon King only the third draft pick? He will be struggling to hold on to that belt.

4. SHARKS pick Chuck Frisby. A reliable midcarder but a very safe pick.

5. SHARKS pick Party Animals tag team (Rave and Trance). The best heel tag team out there but that is not saying very much.

6. DEVILS pick Smooth Criminals tag team (Stefan Raynor and Axl Grease). A poor team.

7. DEVILS pick Liam Lutz.

8. SHARKS pick EL Jefe Militar. Surprised he went so low.

9. DEVILS pick Miss Information.

10. SHARKS pick Nina the Psycho Ballerina.

As for managers, Rachel Dearheart joins Sharks and Aurora joins Devils.

SHARKS

Owned by Randy Garcia and managed by Rachel Dearheart.

Glen Ward

Chuck Frisby

Rave & Trance

El Jefe Militar

Nina the Psycho Ballerina

DEVILS

Owned by Ken Flanagan and managed by Aurora.

Menace

Red Dragon (Dragon King)

Stefan Raynor & Axl Grease

Liam Lutz

Miss Information

First match in WWL

So the January fixture will be Tigers versus Devils. As Tigers are the home team Robert Etchinson gets to make two important decisions.

Firstly, he opts for a tag match as Devils have apparently no decent tag team

Secondly, he opts for a ladder match where Johnny Highspot must fancy his chances.

Once the full selections have been made I will put the card up.

Jan 2012 report

Cardigan Weather Jan 2012 Report (att:59)

Tigers vs Devils

Menace defeat DJ Turtle in a shootfight 33/E+

The opening match sees the monstrous Menace comfortably dispose of DJ Turtle with a succession of power moves. 1-0 to the Devils!

Angle: Hall rants at workers 36/D-

Bali Daljit defeats El Jefe Militar 22/E (filler match)

Boring battle between two jobbers sees Bali edge out the awesome mexican rookie

Angle: Hall rants at workers 32/E+

Dartmoor defeats Skaterboyz (Axl & Lutz) 34/E+

Dartmoor look an impressive young tag team and already they are producing some of the best tag matches the company has seen. Skaterboyz were definitely "taking one for the team" here. Punishment smashed Lutz to pieces before Heath made the easy tag. 1-1!

Stefan Raynor defeats Cannonball Logan 26/E

The second half of Flanagan's cunning plan. By putting together the Skaterboyz that freed up Raynor to take on Logan. And the gamble paid off as Raynor proved too crafty for Logan. A cunning use of a foreign object when referee Baker was distracted by Aurora set the seal on the win by pinfall. 2-1 to the Devils.

Angle: Aurora wins Bikini contest against Bethany Hurst, Miss Information and Thea Davis 48/D+.

The fans of RDW sure do love a bit of T&A...

Thea Davis defeats Miss Information in a lingerie match to retain the she dragon title 50/D+

So the two best matches in RDW have been athletic young woman ripping their clothes off? Give the fans what they want.... 2-2 with all on the main event now.

Main Event: Johnny Highspot vs. Red Dragon in a ladder match

Red Dragon may be the champ but Johnny Highspot looked very impressive in his first few months with the company. With two such taleneted high fliers surely this should be a great match. Unfortunately they have POOR chemistry together and for such a high risk match it starts to get a bit boring. Eventually Highspot went for a top rope knee and misses, Red Dragon takes advantage and hits a perfect hurricanerama to take the pin and win the match 3-2 for the Devils.

Final Score: Tigers 2 Devils 3

Overall: 38/D-

Notes: $5,000 profit. Red Dragon and Johnny Highspot have Poor chmistry

Geena the WP vs Nina the PB in a lingerie match

Llanelli Lockdown

Nigel Svensson vs Glen Ward in a submission match

Always pick Svensson over Ward

Geena the WP vs Nina the PB in a lingerie match

Guess

Elimination Agents vs Party Animals

Agents are a good team, Party Animals aren't, really

Kaulu Owusu vs Chuck Frisby

More overness maybe?

Bali Daljit vs El Jefe Militar

Daljit won last time out

Dartmoor vs LightRay (Liam Lutz a& Stefan Raynor) in a non-WWL match

This match is here to keep your UC developing, no point losing it!

Nigel Svensson vs Glen Ward in a submission match

I always end up firing Glen Ward due to his personality.

Geena the WP vs Nina the PB in a lingerie match

Just to be different

Elimination Agents vs Party Animals

Best team in the UK

Kalu Owusu vs Chuck Frisby

Kalu Owusu may not be over in England yet, but he's a hell of a lot more talented the Frisby.

Bali Daljit vs El Jefe Militar

Bali is the guy who always loses right?

Dartmoor vs Lightray

No wait Lutz is the guy who always loses.

Llanelli Lockdown Feb 2012 card

Llanelli Lockdown 2012 (Att:55)

Eagles vs Sharks

Elimination Agents defeat Party Animals 38/D-

A record setting tag match for the RDW, even if it was between two imported teams of some experience. The elimination agents are simply a cut above the Party Animals. 1-0 to the Eagles.

Chuck Frisby defeated Kalu Osuwu 22/E-

Kalu is a veteran worker but not highly rated by the RDW hierarchy and Frisby had little problems overcoming the rusty looking newcomer. 1-1

Angle: Hall rants at workers 35/E+

Bali Daljit defeated El Militar Jefe 23/E

Bali’s familiarity with British wrestling style proves the difference as he beats El Jefe for the second straight event. Jefe really needs to improve his basics and fast. 2-1 to Eagles

Angle: Hall rants at workers 36/D-

Dartmoor defeated Lightray 32/E+ (non-WWL)

Unashamedly a development bout booked by Corporal Punishment and an extremely predictable result.

Angle: Evans wins Bikini Contest 44/D

Memo to self: Sex sells in the RDW. Use and abuse sex appeal of Emma Evans and Miss Information

Geena the WP defeated Nina the PB in a lingerie match29/E

Both of these amazons cost over $1,000 and their poor chemistry lead to a shocking semi-main event. Will not be booking this match again. Geena wins to make it 3-1 to the Eagles

Nigel Svensson defeats Glen Ward in a submission match 43/D

Without the title at stake some of the magic seems to have gone out of this matchup. Another win for the dreaded hyperextension armlock of Svensson.

Eagles 4 Sharks 1

Overall: 39/D-

Notes:

Another $4,000 profit. With that cash we are now in a position to fulfil the Road to Glory die roll which called for a rebranding of the company. So at a cost of $20,000 we gain 3 pop (to 17.9) and 20% momentum (to 46%)

Geena the WP and Nina the PB have POOR chemistry

Prediction Contest

Occasional Z 4/6

Tiberious 4 4/6

Jaded 4/6

Boltinho 2/6

Typical, the one time I forget to put a tie-break in... oh well three of you win a "Dunton Hall" card.

Looks like running these cards to a 48 hour turnaround seems like a smart move so I will. Next card is not a WWL match so I get to pick the winners :)

Merthyr Madness 2012 Card

Merthyr Madness March 2012 card (to be resolved SUNDAY 6pm BST)

Just four matches this month but a hopefully epic main event

Four way elimination match for the Dragon King title: Red Dragon vs Johnny Highspot vs Menace vs Nigel Svensson

At the request of Red Dragon himself, but the suspicion is that Ken Flanagan is calling the shots here. Two of the Flanagan's Thugs in a four way? surely the advantage is with them unless Highspot and Svensson team up.

DJ Turtle vs Glen Ward for the Young Dragon Title

The angry man is fed up waiting for his chance at the main title so he is taking on "the lesser man". These two have great chemistry so this could be a great semi-main event.

Medicine Ball (Bali & Punishment) vs Party Animals for the RDW Tag titles

Medicine Ball hold the title but Party Animals have the experience. However Punishment looks more impressive with every passing month.

Cannonball Logan vs El Jefe Militar

Can Jefe finally get a win?

Summary of Card:

Four way elimination match for the Dragon King title: Red Dragon vs Johnny Highspot vs Menace vs Nigel Svensson

DJ Turtle vs Glen Ward for the Young Dragon Title

Medicine Ball (Bali & Punishment) vs Party Animals for the RDW Tag titles

Cannonball Logan vs El Jefe Militar

Tiebreak:

This will be the first event since hitting E- popularity. What will the attendance be?

Merthyr Madness March 2012 card

Merthyr Madness 2012 (Att: 126)

Angle: Miss Information does sexy dance 55/C-

Sex sells in the RDW...

El Jefe Militar defeated Cannonball Logan 19/E-

Jefe gets his first win in the RDW by dispatching perennial jobber Logan

Angle: Hall rants at workers 35/E+

”Full House” Flanagan leads Red Dragon and Menace down to the ring, looking very pleased with himself. However Hall comes out to the ringside, mic in hand:

“Flanagan, you have certainly made an impression with the RDW. And you are one helluva poker player. Or are you? Did you know I had new HD cameras installed in your card room? What I saw was most illuminating, run the tape boys!”

On the tv screens around the hall Flanagan can be shown dealing cards to Menace, Red Dragon, Svensson and Jefe. In small motion mode cuddly Ken can clearly be shown dealing from the bottom of the deck.....”

Flanagan tries to bluff it out but the jig is up. After a hard slap from Red Dragon Ken ducks under a haymaker from Menace and runs for it, pursued by his two workers.

The Party Animals defeated Medicine Ball for the RDW tag titles 31/E+

Veteran team Party Animals prove too strong for the youngsters. And given Punishment’s tag chemistry with Martin Heath, I don’t think we will see Medicine Ball again in the ring.

Angle: Emma Evans does sexy dance 54/C-

Glen Ward defeats DJ Turtle for the Young dragon title 38/D-

The angry man wins a belt he doesn’t even care for, as he throws it to the commentators on the way out. So why the result? Well Turtle is leaving the company soon due to his low resilience. Yet another wrestler on my list of “To be brought back when Mr Hall does not care about their lack of psychology/resilience/...”

Angle: Miss Information wins Bikini contest 46/D

Main Event: Red Dragon vs Menace vs Johnny Highspot vs Nigel Svensson for the Dragon King title 38/D-

Arguably the four best workers in the company, so why the comparatively low grade? For starters Punishment made a rookie booking mistake and did not give them a slow build order, so there were some tired bunnies out by the end of twenty minutes.

As for the match itself, Dragon and Highspot flew while Menace and Svensson slugged it out. Highspot was the first out, going for a crossbody Menace caught him and powerslammed him into a slightly quick pin.

Menace was looking impressive, but while he was outside the ring he was attacked by Ken Flanagan who used the ring bell on both Menace and Svensson. However Menace shook the blow off and hurled cuddly Ken around the floor. Flanagan hightailed it out of there and Menace lumbered off in pursuit. Referee Baker had no option but to count him out.

That left Red Dragon and Svensson, but the savvy Welshmen had already used a low blow on the Swede and he used rope leverage to complete the pin on Svensson. Red Dragon retains the title.

Angle: Menace destroys Flanagan 28/E

Menace drags the hapless Flanagan back into the ring where he proceeds to lay a hellacious beating on his cheat of a boss.

Overall: 38/D-

Notes:

Another $4,000 in the bank. Apologies for the two title changes, but Turtle is leaving and Medicine Ball will be retired as a tag team. And as for angles, RDW is going down the T&A route for at least the next few months...
