A New Challenger?

It seems there may be a new contender in the Lucha Libre War as a new promotion known as Revolución de Lucha Libre has announced its grand opening taking place on January 21st right here in Mexico City. Revolutionizing the sport of Lucha Libre is no modest goal, but then what else would you expect from a company founded by Francisco Manuel Ruiz?

There had been some rumblings in the industry for the past few weeks about some of the top independent talent across the country being offered contracts by a new promotion, but the public announcement earlier today that the outspoken and often controversial Francisco Manuel Ruiz was the founder came as a shock to fans and industry insiders alike.

Ruiz's most recent controversy came ten months ago when he was fired from his role as as a TV Presenter after a discussion with a colleague turned heated and he went on a profanity riddled tirade live on air. This wasn't the first such incident from Ruiz, and most suspected it wouldn't be the last, but I don't think anyone expected him to move to the wrestling industry and found his own promotion.

Ruiz may be a newcomer to the industry, but as a member of one of the richest families in Mexico he's got a bankroll that most small companies could only dream of and if Ruiz knows how to do anything it's self promote. Whether RLL will take off is anyone's guess, but we'll be sure to keep you up to date with the latest news.

FAQ and Special Thanks

If you've managed to read this far I commend you on your persistence. This is my second diary, and I've made the undoubtedly foolish decision to run it simultaneously with my Paragons of Wrestling diary.

I choose to make this diary because the Lucha scene in general doesn't get much attention and I particularly like what jhd1 has done with it in his mod, especially with the both sides of the border DLC.

This is a brand new promotion rather than one existing in the game, but it's not a Road to glory or a 0/0/0/1000 game; rather I'm starting at small size with a decent amount of money. I'm more focused on the story and narrative then about making it especially challenging or maximizing the rating.

Special thanks go to
jhd1
and
Shmoe
for making the mod,
jhd1
for putting up with my barrage of PMs and encouraging me to run the diary/try my hand at graphics work,
MJStark
for not minding me borrowing part of his Diary Style,
TheCelt
, who's awesome graphics work in his diary inspired me to break out the old GIMP program I had installed, but rarely used (Though I know my graphics are awful compared to his), and all the Diary Writers on the forum who have inspired me. (I started to make a list, then realized it was far too long.)

Lastly I'll thank everyone who's managed to read this far. I hope I can make this diary worth the time you've spent reading my rambling introduction.
:p

The Revolution Begins.
January 21st @ The Revolución Arena in Mexico City

Revolución de Lucha Libre is holding their debut show on January 21st. Come see this historic event as we begin the Revolution and begin two tournaments to crown the first ever Campeón del Mundo and Campeónes de Parejas of RLL.

http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/Generic_MexWorld.jpg

http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/Ajedrez.jpghttp://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/DosAguilas.jpghttp://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/Flame.jpghttp://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/JaguarAzul.jpg

Eight men have been selected to participate in the tournament to crown the first ever Revolución Campeón Del Mundo. Round one of the tournament and after the show only four competitors will remain.

  • Ajedrez

Ajedrez prides himself on being a master of strategy and always being one step ahead of his opponent. For years people have ignored his talent and said he "Doesn't have what it takes to be a star," but Ajedrez is here in RLL to prove all his doubters wrong.

    -

  • Dos Aguilas

The High Flying Dos Aguilas is a two time ILL Campeón de Parejas and one time ILL Campeón de Trios. Dos Aguilas was inexplicably released three months ago, and he's here in RLL to prove that ILL made a mistake by overlooking him.

    -

  • Flame

Flame, the son of politician Ramon Morales, is an exciting and explosive high flier. However Flame has made it clear he's not riding on his father's reputation, he's here to forge a legacy of his own.

    -

  • Jaguar Azul

Jaguar Azul is a veteran of the game who's won championships in both ILL and CLLM, but who hasn't yet tasted Singles Gold. Azul is famous for his agility and grace, and is looking to finally become the Campeón del Mundo.

    -

  • Sangre Azteca

The cocky and controversial Sangre Azteca has won gold in both ILL and CLLM culminating in his 2005 reign as CLLM Campeón del Mundo. Only a year later he was fired after it was revealed he has been having affairs with the girlfriends of Acuatico, Negro Guerrero, Green Doctor Jr, and Nocturno Guerrero. Seemingly having burned his bridges with the top stars of both CLLM and ILL it looked like the controversial Luchador's career would be cut short, but the Talented Luchador has joined RLL and is out to prove to everyone he's back and better than ever.

    -

  • Calavera Rojo

Calavera Rojo is a Luchador who rose to fame in ILL for his fearlessness and willingness to put his body on the line in order to inflict pain on others. "Red Skull" is back with RLL and just as crazy as ever as he sets out to become the Campeón del Mundo.

    -

  • Super Kenshi

Super Kenshi may be the youngest member of the tournament, but the "Ice Cold Samurai' is a world traveler who's spent time in Mexico, Japan, and the United States. His unique blend of martial arts and high flying makes him incredibly exciting, but his merciless win at any cost approach makes him a dangerous opponent indeed.

    -

  • Genghis II

The Eternal Warrior, Genghis II, is the man that time forgot. He may be approaching 60, but the Luchador Legend has the grace and agility that most men half his age could only dream of. The Veteran Luchador was the first men to ever win both CLLM and ILL Campeón del Mundo and looks to cap off his career by adding the RLL Campeón del Mundo to his list of accomplishments.

http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/ElGranExplosion.jpghttp://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/Galactico.jpghttp://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/FuturoI.jpghttp://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/FuturoII.jpg

http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/Ciclope.jpghttp://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/DarkWolfII.jpghttp://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/Tyrant-1.jpghttp://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/Warlord.jpg

Four teams will participate in a tournament to crown the first ever RLL Campeónes de Parejas. All teams are hungry for a win, but only one team will be able to come out on top.

  • Las Fuerzas Cósmicas
    (The Cosmic Forces)

El Gran Explosion and Galactico may be new to the lucha scene, but the young duo will quickly prove themselves if they can become the Campeónes de Parejas.

    -

  • Los Futuros

Los Futuros are a solid team who have been teaming for three years now. The experienced Futoro I and the exciting young Futuro II look to use their team unity and experience to become the first ever RLL Campeónes de Parejas.

    -

  • El Círculo Siniestro
    (The Sinister Circle)

Cíclope and Dark Wolf II are two talented and ruthless young wrestlers out to win the titles by any means necessary. The combination of the cocky but talented Cíclope and the terrifying predator Dark Wolf II look to be a formidable team in this tournament.

    -

  • Mercenarios Sin Fronteras
    (Mercenaries Without Borders)

The ultimate Mercenaries, Tyrant and Warlord, have come south from the United States and are out to earn their pay any way they can get it. The odd couple of the big and powerful Tyrant and the Quick and Agile Warlord make this team a dangerous combination, especially when you factor in the outside help from their "Psychic" manager, Seer.

vs
http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/Halcon.jpg

We will also be seeing a special bonus match between Victor Rodas and Halcón.

Victor Rhodas is a three time ILL Campeón del Mundo and is filled with bitterness and anger over his fall after being unmasked and over being left out of the tournament. Rhodas will look to take out his anger on the young Halcón, but looking past his opponent would be a big mistake.

The young high flier Halcón is a talented wrestler whose unorthodox finisher, a Standing Dropkick, is both beautiful and deadly. Halcón will be out to upset the former champion and get the biggest win of his young career.

vs
http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/PrincipeAzteca.jpg

Fans who arrive at the arena early will also get to see a special pre-show exhibition between two young and talented Luchadors.

Príncipe Azteca II and El Nieto de Santo Guerrero are both luchadors who take pride in their bloodline, but only one can come out victorious at Begin the Revolution.

Great to see this finally up and running!

Campeón del Mundo Tournament Matches:

Flame vs Super Kenshi

Super Kenshi is the younger of the two, and so the man with the greatest upside.

Ajedrez vs Sangre Azteca

Azteca was one of my biggest stars in IWC so I can't pick against him!

Jaguar Azul vs Genghis II

Really tough, as both are old. Going for Genghis II because he's cool.

Dos Aguilas vs Calavera Rojo

I realised that I had picked only rudos. Otherwise, Rojo would be winning this one too!

Campeónes de Parejas Tournament Matches:

Las Fuerzas Cósmicas vs El Círculo Siniestro

Los Futuros vs Mercenarios Sin Fronteras

Both complete guesses.

No, they're custom characters. The alts are sort of Frankenstein creations with parts from different Jhdverse characters pieced together. Graves and Ashmedai were the basis for the two, so I see why you'd think they were alts. I created them because I had the idea for a team of Evil American Mercenaries, but I couldn't really find anyone who I liked for the role in the normal database.

I could give their stats if people want them, but to sum it up Tyrant is a big brawler who's still pretty green in the ring, but has a good menacing look. Warlord is a decent all rounder and definitely the better in ring of the two, but doesn't have the size or looks of his partner. Neither speak Spanish, but they're managed by "Seer", another custom character I made.

Ajedrez vs Sangre Azteca

Azteca was one of my biggest stars in IWC so I can't pick against him!

What is IWC? Also my biggest problem with Azteca is the qestion of how on earth did he score with the girlfriends of four of the top stars in lucha with his terrible charisma and sex appeal ratings? :p

It was a promotion I created as Chase Paige. It was a touring promotion in America but I had regions turned off (or whatever the setting is) so I could hire people from all three areas.

Azteca can do a Rubiks cube in 2.9 seconds, can recite Shakespeare in three languages and has a very good sense of humour. :p

RLL Begin the Revolution

http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/RLL_Banner-1-2.jpg

Held in front of 288 People at the Revolution Arena in Mexico City on January 21st, 2012

RLL is based right here in Mexico City, so I decided to attend their debut show to give you a live recap of my experiences in RLL.

The "Revolution Arena" is apparently the former sight of a nightclub, but you wouldn't know it by going inside; Ruiz didn't spare any expense in making it a fully functional wrestling arena. The arena looked like it could have held three times as many people, so either Ruiz misjudged the effectiveness of his advertising campaign or he's counting on a growth in popularity.

Pre Show

http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/FranciscoManuelRuiz-1.jpghttp://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/ElVillanoSupremo-100x100.jpg

Francisco Manuel Ruiz comes down to the ring to address the crowd who are still finding their way to their seats. He hypes up the grand opening of RLL as a defining moment in Licha history which is a bit of an exaggeration, but he gets a decent reaction from the crowd.

After he's finished hyping the show he introduces the man who will be joining him at the commentary booth,
El Villano Supremo!
This gets a good reaction from the crowd who remember him from the twenty-four years he spent wrestling for CLLM. Villano takes the microphone and thanks the crowd before plugging RLL's debut.

Arturo's Analysis: D

I heard El Villano Supremo had signed with RLL, but I didn't expect him to be on the commentary team. He didn't get much microphone time in CLLM, but he was a pretty decent talker and it's not a bad choice for RLL have him on color; especially when you add in his industry experience.

vs
http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/PrincipeAzteca-100x100.jpg

El Nieto de Santo Guerrero vs Principe Azteca II

  • Some of the crowd were still making their way into the arena as this "Bonus" Match began.

  • Principe Azteca II gained the advantage early on as he took control of his rookie opponent.

  • El Nieto de Santo Guerrero eventually made a comeback and got a small reaction from the crowd when he went for the
    Holy Stretch
    made famous by his Grandfather.

  • Principe Azteca is able to escape the hold and soon after catch Santo Guerrero with a series of kicks before going up top and putting him away with the
    Blood Call
    .

Principe Azteca II wins via Pinfall in 6:12

Arturo's Analysis: E+

The crowd was fairly dead for what was more or less a squash match. It didn't help matters that their timing was off all match and they seemed to blow a few spots as a result. A shame really because both competitors have the potential to be major names down the road if they keep improving; Azteca especially.

Main Show:

Francisco Manuel Ruiz is in the ring once again with the microphone. After his usual pandering to the crowd he gets down to the business of announcing that tonight marks the beginning of tournaments for both the RLL Campeon de Mundo and the RLL Capeones de Parajas. He then proceeds to unveil the belts before once more hyping the start of the tournament.

Arturo's Analysis: D

Ruiz sure does like to hear himself talk. He does have some undeniable charisma, but the tournament announcement wasn't much of a reveal since it was announced on their website weeks ago. I suppose we did get to see the belts for the first time; again it looks like Ruiz didn't cut any corners here with the quality of their championship titles.

Las Fuerzas Cósmicas
(El Gran Explosion and Galactic)

vs

El Círculo Siniestro
(Ciclope and Dark Wolf II)

  • The tag team match went back and forth with both teams getting their share of offense

  • The Rudos were eventually able to isolate El Gran Explosion in their corner taking advantage of every opportunity they had to double team their opponent.

  • However a missed
    Eye of the Storm
from Ciclope let El Gran Explosion make the hot tag!

  • Galactico jumped into the ring and began taking down both of his opponents with a series of high flying maneuvers.

  • However just as Galactico was going to go for the
    Quebrada
he was distracted by the appearance of Calavera Rojo at ringside.

  • The distraction allowed Dark Wolf II to hit the
    Wolf's Call
on Galactico and get the three count to advance in the tournament.

El Círculo Siniestro win via Pinfall in 9:13

Arturo's Analysis: D

Not a bad match by any means, but the crowd didn't really get into it. Still the in ring performances were good, especially from Dark Wolf II and Ciclope. Neither is well known here in Mexico, but Dark Wolf II picked up some solid skills from his time in Japan and Ciclopse wowed with his impressive aerial skills. The right team won.

http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/CalaveraRojo-100x100.jpghttp://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/Ciclope-1.jpghttp://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/DarkWolfII-100x100.jpg

Calavera Rojo joined his allies in the ring after the match. The trio then cut a promo about how El Circulo Siniestro will win both tournaments; typical heel promo.

Arturo's Analysis: D-

Calavera Rojo is well known by the crowd, but he's never been a great microphone worker. Ciclope did pretty well on the microphone for his part, but the crowd still doesn't really know who he is, so he didn't get much of a reaction. All in all it wasn't a horrible promo, but it wasn't particularly good either.

http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/Halcon-100x100.jpg

Victor Rodas vs Halcon

  • Victor Rodas looked annoyed he wasn't in the tournament and was instead facing off against a rookie.

  • However that nearly cost him when he turned to argue with the fans allowing Halcon to hit his trademark
    Halcon Dropkick
, but Rodas was able to get a hand on the ropes to prevent a humiliatingly quick defeat.

  • Rodas was able to eventually regain control, and sought to ground Halcon by tying him up in submissions.

  • A few "You can't wrestle" chants started up while Rodas was in control causing Rodas to shout back at the crowd.

  • Halcon was evetually able to fight his was back into the match and get going with his high flying offense.

  • But it was not to be as Rodas hit a low blow unseen by the referee and proceeded to cover Halcon for the cheap win.

Victor Rodas wins via Pinfall in 10:07

Arturo's Analysis: E+

It's one thing when you have a veteran carrying a rookie to a match, but if anything Halcon was the one lifting the burden of this match trying to make Rodas's boring offense watchable.

Many of the fans in attendance weren't pleased to see Rodas wrestling, and I can't really blame them; he was a huge star back when he was a masked rudo in ILL, but there's a good reason his career went in a freefall after he lost his mask. his bland style of rest-hold wrestling isn't going to spark a career comeback.

http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/VictorRodas-100x100.jpg

After the match Rodas is standing in the ring celebrating his victory in defiance of the booing of the fans when suddenly the lights dim and an eery noise begins to play over the loudspeaker. Smoke begins to seep out of the entry ramp and Victor Rodas looks like he's seen a ghost as he stands transfixed in the center of the ring.

The smoke and the music stops as the light's go back to normal as suddenly as it started. Rodas seems to have recovered from his shock as he looks furious at the interruption and quickly exits the ring to the back.

Arturo's Analysis: D-

I'll give him credit, Victor Rodas is a (marginally) better actor than he is a wrestler. I'm not sure where this is going, but I hope this storyline means we won't have to see Rodas wrestle much longer.

Los Futuros (Futuro I and Futuro II)

vs

Mercenarios Sin Fronteras (Tyrant and Warlord) w/ Seer

  • The Mercenaries take their time getting into the ring as they bark at the crowd in English and generally act like evil Americans.

  • Los Futuros eventually grow tired of waiting in the ring and instead hit synchronized dives onto the Mercenaries to start the match.

  • Los Futuros have the early momentum as they use their teamwork to control the match, but a timely distraction from Seer lets Tyrant hit a big clothesline on Futuro II.

  • The Mercenaries do their best to isolate the younger and less experienced Futuro II in their corner as they wear him down with double team manuevers.

  • Futuro II manages to fight back however, and dodges a clothesline from Warlord to get the hot tag!

  • Futuro I leaps into the match and starts fighting Warlord in the ring taking him down with a Hurricanrana. Seer distracts the referee allowing Tyrant into the match, but Futuro I dodges the charging Tyrant and causes the big man to collide with Seer on the Apron!

  • Tyrant gets dumped outside of the ring before both members of Los Futuros hit the
    Back to the Futuro
to put down Warlord for the three count.

Los Futuros win via Pinfall in 9:23

Arturo's Analysis: E+

Tyrant and Warlord aren't terrible in the ring, but the crowd didn't care about them at all and their styles didn't blend particularly well with the high flying Los Futuros. It's hard to say whether they'll have a bright future in Lucha, but I think their characters of evil American mercenaries could get them over if they're given time and patience.

Calavero Rojo comes down to the ring accompanied by El Círculo Siniestro. He stands in the ring with a microphone to cut a promo before his match. Rojo claimed to be back and more dangerous than ever and that he was going to destroy Dos Aguilas.

http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/DosAguilas-100x100.jpghttp://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/Halcon-100x100.jpg

Dos Aguilas came out with a microphone of his own and said that he knew Calavero Rojo wouldn't fight him one on one like a man so he'd brought his partner down to even the odds.

Arturo's Analysis: D-

Rojo and Aguilas aren't amazing on the microphone, but they did a decent enough job of building to their match and the crowd knew who they were; which can't be said of all the members of the roster.

vs
http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/CalaveraRojo-100x100.jpg

Dos Aguilas vs Calavera Rojo

  • A fairly even match with a bit of a contrast of styles as Dos Aguilas used his high flying offense and Calavero Rojo used a rougher and less graceful style of wrestling to ground his opponent.

  • Dos Aguilas eventually breaks free of Rojo and starts flying around the ring.

  • Just as Dos Aguilas looks ready to put away Rojo. El Circulo Siniestro jump on the apron on the outside. Halcon however has had enough of the interference and nails Ciclope and Dark Wolf II with a flying crossbody on the outside.

  • Calavera Rojo takes advantage of the distraction to kick Dos Aguilas in the gut before nailing him with the Red Skull Slam to put him down for the three count.

Calavero Rojo wins via pinfall in 12:45

Arturo's Analysis: D

Decent match, but not particularly good. Rojo and Aguilas are both solid, but like their promo skills their in ring skills aren't much better than average. It wasn't the best way to kick off their tournament, but it wasn't a disaster either.

http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/FranciscoManuelRuiz-1.jpghttp://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/JaguarAzul-100x100.jpghttp://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/GenghisII-100x100.jpg

Francisco Manuel Ruiz gets into the ring to give a special introduction to the competitors in the next tournament match. He puts over Genghis II as a Lucha Libre legend and Jaguar Azul as one of the finest all round luchadors in wrestling today.

Arturo's Analysis: D

Ruiz talks once more, but I suppose it makes sense since neither Genghis II or Jaguar Azul are known for their microphone work. His claims might have been slight exaggerations, but they were close enough to the truth that the crowd gave it a good reaction.

vs
http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/GenghisII-100x100.jpg

Jaguar Azul vs Genghis II

  • The match was at a decidedly slower pace than the previous matches, but what the two lacked in physical agility they made up for with experience and in ring storytelling.

  • It was hard to ignore that both competitors were past their prime, but both were giving it their all and their signature moves still got good reactions from the crowd.

  • The match went back and forth with both of the veteran luchadors trying to prove they still had it.

  • The end came when Genghis II climbed up to the top rope to set up for the
    Mongolian Death
, but he was slower than he was in his prime and as a result Jaguar Azul was able to cut him off.

  • Shortly thereafter Jaguar Azul went up to the top rope with more success as he hit
    Blue Jaguar Splash
    and got the three count.

Jaguar Azul wins via Pinfall in 14:15

Arturo's Analysis: D+

Better than I expected given how old the two are. This match could have been stellar if they had met ten or fifteen years ago, but both are clearly approaching the end of their careers and I'm not sure how much longer they'll be able to compete inside the ring.

http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/Ajedrez-100x100.jpghttp://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/SangreAzteca-100x100.jpg

Sangre Azteca and Ajedrez come down to the ring in preperation for their match. Ajedrez looks ready to fight, but Sangre Azteca seems to have other ideas as he grabs a microphone.

Sangre Azteca cuts a promo claiming that his superior Aztec heritage makes him not only a better wrestler than Ajedrez, but his better in every way. This understandably annoys Ajedrez, but sangre Azteca says he wants to prove it by defeating him in a game of chess.

A chess set, a folding table, and two chess sets are grabbed from ringside. The two start playing chess at a lightning fast pace and in only a minute Ajedrez announces he has Sangre Azteca in checkmate. Azteca is none too happy to be defeated by a man of "common blood" and kicks the table into Ajedrez to signal the beginning of the match.

Arturo's Analysis: D-

Sangre Azteca is pretty over and it's easy to boo him given his controversial history, but frankly he should be kept away from the microphone. Ajedrez did a better job of acting and playing to the crowd to keep them interested in the "Chess Match." The segment wasn't awful, but I'm not sure the tournament match really needed a promo to build it up.

vs
http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/SangreAzteca-100x100.jpg

Ajedrez vs Sangre Azteca

  • The sneak attack gave Sangre Azteca the advantage early on while the referee was busy clearing the ring of chess pieces.

  • Azteca looked confidant and cocky as he disrespected both the crowd and his opponent.

  • His cockyness would come back to hurt him as the "Thinking Man's Luchador" mounted a comeback.

  • Ajedrez nearly hit the
    Checkmate
, but Sangre Azteca grabbed hold of the ropes to prevent himself from being DDT'd onto the mat.

  • Sangre Azteca nailed Ajedrez with the
    Headhunter
, but somehow the luchador kicked out!

  • However when Sangre Azteca hit the
    Ritual Sacrifice
the match was clearly over as Sangre Azteca got the three count with a cocky one legged pin.

Sangre Azteca Wins via Pinfall in 15:12

Arturo's Analysis: C-

Ajedrez and Sangre Azteca put on the best match of the night so far. Despite being a jobber for most of his career Ajedrez is a pretty good worker and despite Sangre Azteca's personal issues there's no denying he has talent.

http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/Flame-100x100.jpghttp://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/SuperKenshi-100x100.jpg

Flame is out before the main event to thank the crowd for coming to the show. He announces he's dedicating the match to his grandfather who passed away one week ago, but before he can continue Super Kenshi comes down to the ring to interupt him.

Super Kenshi calls Flame weak for needing the support of others to fight his battles and says that a true warrior needs only to fight for himself. Flame counters by saying such selfish doesn't make you a warrior, it makes you a coward.

Arturo's Analysis: D+

This angle did a much better job of building to the match than any of the previous ones. Flame and Kenshi are both pretty good on the microphone; relatively speaking.

http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/Flame-100x100.jpg
vs
http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/RLL/SuperKenshi-100x100.jpg

Flame vs Super Kenshi

  • The action is fast and furious as both competitors give it their all to advance in the tournament

  • Eventually after much back and forth wrestling Super Kenshi tranistions a hurricanrana into the
    Samurai Lock!

  • Flame looks to be fading as he's choked out, but the crowd cheers him to make a comeback which gives Flame the strength to rise to his feet and break free of the hold!

  • Flame makes a comeback and with Super Kenshi down signals to the crowd he's going high risk, but the momentary delay proves costly as Kenshi rolls out of the way of the
    Fireball.

  • Kenshi waits for Flame to get to his feet before going for the
    Uraken
, Flame ducks and Referee Ramon Rojo gets hit by the move.

  • Kenshi catches Flame with a backfist on the rebound, but seeing the referee down he instead slips out of the ring.

  • Kenshi reaches into the front row to grab a steel folding chair, but a child wearing a Flame T-Shirt grabs hold and begs Kenshi not to use it.

  • Kenshi shoves the child to the floor and rolls back into the ring with the chair, but Flame is waiting and nails the chair into Kenshi's face with a dropkick!

  • Kenshi is down and out giving Flame the chance to hit the
    Fireball
, the referee slowly recovers and counts the one, two, three to send Flame to the semi-finals!

Flame wins via Pinfall in 20:12

Arturo's Analysis: C

This was a very good main event match up. Both of these competitors can go inside the ring and they delivered what was by far the best match of the night. The finish was a little screwy, but it gives Kenshi an excuse for the loss while still putting over Flame strongly as a Tecnico.

Arturo's Overview: C-

Not a bad debut overall. The main event was good, but the early half of the show especially was lacking. In addition some of their angles seemed to drag on forever. It's a solid start with room to build, but RLL are going to need to step up their game if they want to revolutionize Lucha Libre, or even be seen as a true competitor to CLLM and ILL

OOC: Sorry it took me so long to write up the show. My grandfather died last week, so I've had some other things on my mind.

I based the style of the show largely on jhd1 and MJStark's excellent jhdVerse diaries. I also have to give thanks to MJStark for his excellent graphics work on the championship belts.

I'd be happy to hear any thoughts, opinions, or criticisms of my first show.

A New Challenger?

ILL Donde Las Aguilas Se Atravan: C

A great six way between Green Doctor Jr, Camaleon, Aeronaut, Luzbel, Senor Millonario, and El Hijo Del Sultan (B) was unfortunately shoved down the card to make way for a boring tag match between Cassandro, Solaris, and Native Storm (C-) in the semi-main event and a mediocre title match between El Gigante and Leon de Oro to headline the show ©

CLLM Malo Ido Buenas Epocas: B-

CLLM delivered a solid card capped off with a good main event seeing current Campeon del Mundo White Panther team up with Acuatico to defeat Hector Yzaguirre and El Lagarto. (B)

RLL: C-

A good main event between Super Kenshi and Flame © capped off an otherwise forgettable debut for RLL.

Verdict:

CLLM are the clear winners this month. ILL clearly have the talent to be doing better, but they aren't going to be beating CLLM with a dreadfully booked show like that. RLL had a decent debut, but they've got a lot of improving to do if they want to challenge CLLM or ILL.

RLL Unifying Force

Campeon de Mundo Tournament Semi-Finals-

Jaguar Azul vs Sangre Azteca

Flame vs Calavera Rojo

Based on match rating in last show Azteca and Flame look like better guys so I have them advance to finals.

Tag Team Ladder Match for the Campeones de Parejas-

Los Futuros vs El Circulo Siniestro (Ciclope and Dark Wolf II)

Just personal preference.

Four Way Battle-

Dos Aguilas vs El Nieto de Santo Guerrero vs Principe Azteca II vs Super Kenshi

Kenshi was in main event on last show and he delivered well which makes me believe that he´s step above the rest here.

Singles Matches-

Ajedrez vs Victor Rodas

That angle made me believe that Rodas has a storyline going and I´d assume that it´s enough for him to win here.

Halcon vs Genghis II

Halcon seems to be a rookie so I´d assume that he´s still on a phase where he gets better by putting other´s over.

Pre-Show Tag Team Match-

Las Fuerzas Cosmicas vs Mercenarios Sin Fronteras

I picked heels as tag champs so I go with face team here.
