C-Verse Expanded

http://i1230.photobucket.com/albums/ee489/asaemon/WMMA3/CV%20Expansion/CVExpandedalt2.jpg

This is a project to create a larger database and game world. Instead of modders working on individual mods and fighter packs the goal are that our work should be able to be merged together, be released and be fully compatible to merge with the default database starting in 1998.

In this project are in Alphabetical order:

Afroduck - Working on creating a larger game world and a functional bantamweight division.

Asaemon - Working on importing fighters and other things from the TEW series. I will also work to create a game world for the world of Shootfighting before ALPHA-1 with some history. One part of this work is to have a functional Super Heavyweight division. When this is finished the possibility would be there to with some editing to be able to go back in time and play during the start of ALPHA-1, GAMMA or even the inception of Shootfighting.

Blackman - Working on creating a larger game world of female fighters.

MatthewTrixie - Creating biographies for fighters, so that all fighters in the mod has a biography.

If more mod makers, fighter pack creators, renderers or graphic creators want to join this project you're welcome. The main goal is to create the largest database possible with unique renders not being used twice.

Timeline of WMMA (Work in progress)

1920s – Early Vale Tudo contests. BJJ blackbelt Ricardo Feitosa Sr fights loads of Boxers, Luta Livre practioners, Capoeira fighters, and generic toughguys in Rio de Janeiro's martial arts dojos and small gymnasiums.

1970s - The future "Strong Style" wrestling legend Hito Ichihara hosted several legitimate Shootfighting matches. Along with this, the style of mixing Martial Arts and Catch Wrestling used in these types of Shootfights began to spring up everywhere.

1974 – Combat Fighting Arts forms

In May 1974, Kien Shih founded Combat Fighting Arts, a promotion centered around the concept of CFA presenting its matches as legitimate fights between two competitors, instead of the traditional ideals of Japanese wrestling. The "worked shoots" concept, seen as a huge gamble to begin with, was an immediate and total flop, shutting down for the summer of 1975.

1975 - World Freestyle Fighting Tournament forms

In december 1975 legendary martial artist and "Strong Style" wrestler Hito Ichihara forms World Freestyle Fighting Tournament a freestyle single-elimination fighting tournament, where some of the world's finest martial artists were invited.

1984 - United Shootfighting Federation forms

The Universal Shootfighting Federation was set up to promote the "true" shootfights. USF was a pioneer mixing legitimate Martial Arts with "Strong Style" wrestling. It's roots were Hito Ichihara's Hybrid Wrestling style and it was founded by former "Strong Style" wrestlers.

1989 – Combat Fighting Arts international forms

CFAi was set up to promote the "true" shoots. It was founded by Kiemon Shih, the younger brother of the original CFA founder Kien Shih.

1990 – PANKRATION forms

PANKRATION is oldest active MMA promotion in the world and was set up to promote "true shootfights" in a openweight division. It's roots are Hito Ichihara's Hybrid Wrestling style and it was founded by former "Strong Style" wrestlers.

NARRATIVES: 3 (a few more will probably be added)

TITLES: 2 (no belt graphics, default used)

This is the current status of the project. The promotions that has been added so far are INSPIRE and AWFC (American Women's Fighting Championships). Both have dates for opening and closure. The AWFC will not affect the Default database, since it existed before 1998, but can be used when playing an mod that starts before the merger that created WEFF.

I'm working on adding more promotions that might have been mentioned in the WMMA and TEW series.

Suggestions and feedback on what things to include are welcome. If anyone has a suggestion on what BBP could stand for, so make your suggestion. BBP is the promotion where Fezzik did clash with Foster in the original WMMA.

I'm changing the weights for the fighters that i converted earlier, so that the weight in TEW universe is equal to their Max weight in WMMA, instead of Best Weight that i used earlier.

All original TEW imports have been rebalanced. I have also starting to import new ones, using the new renders. I've done a lot of narratives and most of them are news narratives and will not affect the gameplay. I'm also working on a few more promotions, most will debut after 2010 and will not be part of early MMA. I'll probably add atleast one early North American rival to GAMMA that are set to cease to exist before january 1998, since they couldn't handle the competition from the GAMMA juggernaut.

I've been focusing on the renders since the last post, so there have been no new data added. Most renders made lately are for the early days of the sport (70s and 80s). I havn't decided on the start date yet, but it will be with the founding of the first "non worked" shootfighting / shoot wrestling promotion. The legitimate guys that have fought before (during the gym vs gym era), like Hito Ichihara will have fight histories.

The only fighter that just will have a fight records without fight histories is Tadiyuki Kikkawa, since i don't know how to set it up otherwise. He is supposed to have shootfighting experience and to have been a champion. So i might just add a news narrative for him in which he's retiring from shootfighting (a small fictional local or regional non-playable promotion) to concentrate on his pro wrestling career. So that he debuts and makes his comeback when INSPIRE enters.

When i started the project it was to expand the default database, so there will be one basic expansion with some promotions that will start up from 1998 and later on. Very few of the fighters will have debuted earlier than 1998 and most will debut in 2000s.

Since i also got some personal ideas and permission to use material from a few TEW modmakers, there will also be one expanded reboot database, beginning from the start of shootfighting (before ALPHA-1). Opening and closening dates for the promotions will be preset, to simulate the way the promotions opens in the default database. ALPHA-1 won't be the first promotion, but they will still be the most important one and the promotion that made the sport popular. I haven't decided on a start date yet, but it probably will be when the first cult fighters like Manol Sirakov, Dan Halvorsen and Mantas Andreyev appears on the scene.

This mod will have a lot more narratives than the expansion for the 1998 database (a few examples are that ALPHA-1 will be bought by NARUTO and GAMMA by Lance Decker that will increase their economy and make them juggernauts. GAMMA president and founder Matt Tripp will be the badboy of the sport by thrashtalking through narratives.).

I haven't really started with the women, but i recall that i found a few interesting ones in TEW databases with MMA or Martial Arts background. So there could be use for renders, when i'm finished with the male TEW imports.

Note that Nene Ebina, the one reputed MMA fighter from the C-Verse, is in fact Haley Croft in the WMMA db. Or at least she looks a LOT like her. There are some renders I recently posted with TEW-promotions on their attire. I can make more textures like that if you want.

Some of the pictures has been used in both WMMA and TEW for different fighters. I found a bunch when going through the male ones, but gave them new renders instead of using the one they had in TEW.

Render contributions would be great, that would expand the database. Here are some that could be converted to WMMA: Nene Ebina, Kaori Takenouchi, Laura Flame, Jaime Quine, Claire Winters, Eri Sato, Christy Higgins, Chiyeko Kita, Asami Okubo, Alpha Female, Unstoppable Tai, Karen Bilous, Shiori Jippensha, Selina Svelte, Rei Chikanatsu, Mitsu Ariwa, Miss Information, Hoshiko Tagawa, Hana Ajibana, Ginko Kuroda, Etsuko Arihyoshi, Christina Charlston, Amber Allen and Thea Davis.

I found the Weidt Lights uploaded again. I recall that a few renderers wanted it earlier, but couldn't find it.

Nice, thanks. It's cool to have the same type of lightning for every render, instead of having them all differently. I'll take a look whether I can convert some of those, but I'm pretty bad at rerendering. Well, not that bad but it takes ages compared to new ones. :p

Only 20 renders left to do when it comes to the old school guys from the 70's and early 80s. Not sure how many that i've done, as i'll wait to count them until i'll add them to the WMMA database. But there will be enough to give the WMMA universe some history and the WMMA old school guys some fight histories.

When i'm done, i'll continue with guys from the 90's and 2000's+.

Lately i've worked on Eras and will adjust them for the database starting with the beginning of WMMA, to avoid superstar regens entering the game world and dominating before 1998.

I'm also done some renders and are probably close to 200 renders. Not exacly sure since i have the renders on two different computers. Some are agers and some for potential owners.

I'm finished with creating renders for the fighters from the TEW 77 and 97 CV mods, so i just need to input the fighter data in the database.

Right now i'm continuing making renders for the fighters from the default TEW 2008 and 2010 database. Still a lot of renders to do, but when i'm finished the WMMA universe will be bigger, especially when it comes to MW, LHW and HW. The SHW division will also get a needed boast. Since there are quite few interesting smaller fighters in TEW there won't be very many WW and LW additions, just a few.

I thought of making a in shape render for Solomon Austin, but the problem is that you can't set up a narrative for him to get out of shape and change his best weight (so you need to do it manually).

Any feedback, questions or ideas are always welcome.

Nice going! I know how long it takes to make a mod, but the results can be quite awesome. 1997 seems like the best year to start as I love to start a promotion from day 1. Will there be complete fighting histories? If not just shout and I'll try to make some for either SIGMA/WEFF/GAMMA.

I havn't decided on the starting year yet, but it will either be starting with the first Shootfighting promotion (in the 80's) or in 92 with the birth of MMA (ALPHA-1). The 70's will have complete fight histories (the Shootfighting gym vs gym era), with martial artist and pro wrestler Hito Ichihara as the man to beat (before he retired to focus on his pro wrestling career).

If the database starts before the creation of ALPHA-1, then the earlier shootfighting promotion/promotions will have limited maximum size and narratives to prevent them from getting bigger than ALPHA-1 since i don't want to change the WMMA3 history. All original promotions in the default database will get preset starting years to avoid them from debuting before 1998. So all early rivals for ALPHA-1 and GAMMA will be created (i already have created graphics for a few of the promotions). I found a starting year for WVTC in WMMA, but for the other original promotions i will have to come up with some starting years.

The expansion for the default WMMA3 will have fewer things in it (like narratives and relationships). It will probably be easiest to set it to start in 1998, so that it can be merged with the default one and expand it.

But when the project is complete there is a ground to begin from and then it would be possible to edit a database that starts in 1997 or with the birth of GAMMA. The original WMMA database had a lot of fight histories, but everyting changed in WMMA2 so those histories can't be used anymore.
