C-Verse Expansion

First thoughts are that it is difficult to assess somewhat, due to them all being SHW or HW but I like the additions. Would recommend more lower weight guys as well really.

The fighters seem pretty well specced in terms of skills etc, nobody over the top or too skilled. Good addition, especially for anyone wanting extra SHW's - can go straight into a game as well.

I did some quick filtering on the database.

Featherweight x2

Lightweight x4

Welterweight x2

Middleweigt x38

Light Heavyweight x116

Heavyweight x44

Super Heavyweight x53

Women x10

There should be a few more lighter guys being added, since i already have renders for a bunch of Thai fighters. But when it comes to TEW, there are not very many interesting guys in the lower weightclasses. I have some left to convert, but most of those are heavyweight or super heavyweights, before i'm going back to adding female fighters.

I'm done with the male imports from the TEW databases i've used. What is left is tuning fight records, fight experience and some of the debut years. Right now i'm adding female fighters from TEW, using the renders supplied by Blackman.

I will probably remove some of the females on the to-convert-list, since they seem to be too heavy or are there any suggestions? Since there are not any female openweight divisions it wouldn't make sense to put valuable time in converting females that are way over 200lbs.

When i'm finished importing the females i will add the last of the male renders i've got on some more fictional fighters.

I'm pretty sure the option is in the game, just the same as the men. Perhaps not irl but that shouldn't be an issue.

Probably won't be an issue, since most of women in TEW above Lightweight have pretty poor stats and just would be jobbers. Lightweight in TEW would be translated to Heavyweight in WMMA, since the MW and HW females in TEW seems to be 200lbs+.

I have been working a lot on this project lately and it feels like it going forward.

What's left to do is to add some fight records and adjust experience for some of the older fighters.

Another thing that is left is to create title histories for the three early promotions that were in the MMA universe pre-ALPHA-1. Of these three only one openweight will still be around when the default database starts in 1998. These three promotions have been added since i don't want to rewrite the history for the original promotions in the default database. The goal is to expand the universe and not to alter it.

I still have a few of my renders left that i intend to create fighters for in the database. Most of these ones will be ones to debut in the future and most ones will be in the lighter weightclasses.

I'm currently editing the default database since i need it for narratives, relationships, fight records and so on to work. A lot of things will be added to the database and i will avoid to changing to much in the default data. I've been focusing on adding relationships, narratives, editing fighter styles and rebalancing fighter backgrounds (high level versus world level). Skills and records will be as they are in the default. Everything that has been added or edited will be included in the read me.

If anyone out there is interested in helping with this project i welcome help with writing narratives. Most of the narratives will only be information/news, but will hopefully be a nice feature. I already have some ideas that could be used, if anyone wants to write narratives.

I have two more females left to import from TEW, but still have several female renders left of the ones i got from Blackman. So if anyone wants to add more female fighters into this project you are welcome to contribute fighter biographies and backgrounds.

I'll be willing to write narratives if I can get a look and a play in with the new data, because this requires extensive knowledge of the database. It doesn't take long so perhaps it's better if you can do it yourself. Now that I have spare time, I am willing to write some characters for some of my renders (of other ones, doesn't matter) if you can tell me which ones have been used and how.

Possibility of a Bantamweight division

I've gotten feedback from several users about including this, but i'm not sure of which amount of fighters would be required? 50? 100? 150?

At the moment i got maybe 14 renders that could be used as bantamweights, featherweight or lightweight, but these number shouldn't be enough. So if anyone wants to contribute renders or allowing the CV Expanded to include fighters from other CV mods or expansions to have a bigger database with hopefully a working bantamweight division this is the chance.

I got an permission from Scottie to use his graphics/renders, but i'm not sure which of his renders that already has been used in other mods/renders. I also got renders from Blackman and I Effin Rule, but these are mainly females or larger males (these will ofcourse be included to the largest game world possible, but it wouldn't affect the bantamweights).

MatthewTrixie should be added to the list of authors as he's working together with us to create profiles for the new fighters.

We're working to literaly 'expand' on what is already there. The regular fighters have been relatively untouched, but there's hundreds of new workers that debut so you won't have to use regens ever again (unless you play a...long time). The standard database makes little use of the relationships feature and the narratives feature. We're changing that. Though the relationships do relatively little to change your gaming experience, they still contribute to immersion and might be improved in WMMA4. Narratives will make the game world more alive. Think MMA Summets, training camps getting new trainers, fighters that make appearances in Hollywood movies, companies going out of business, changing their rulesets, adding new divisions,... It's all there.

If anyone has knowledge of any rerenders for the CV default database and/or renders for the Weidtverse also being used in GDS Community Fighter Share and Eyeball's Expansion Pack this information would be very valuable and save time, since we intend to avoid renders being used several times. Since i've made renders for all TEW imported fighters in the GDS Community Fighter Share, some of the other renders assigned to those fighters can be used to replace them.

The plan is to include as many fighter possibly from CV Reborn, GDS Community Fighter Share and Eyeball's Expansion Pack and to try to avoid the same render or rerenders having different names.

I do know most of the rerenders by heart, but I accidently saved over them so I don't have them anymore. If you send them over, I can have a look at them.

But look at it this way: if you can't even figure out which one's a rerender, they haven't done such a good job now, haven't they. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> They might as well be new fighters. To be honest, I never had that much problems with some of the original renders, like Foster, Fezzik, the dude from Strike Force,... They were fine. It was a number of lower-tier fighters that were poorly rendered that disturbed me the most.

I have go through the picture folders and and copy the alts/rerenders to a new folder and collect them there until the final merger. I have some feeling when it comes to the ones from Scottie, London and Bull. It's the other ones thats more uncertain and those from WMMA2.

Indeed they could, but when it comes to altering renders, I'm not much good I fear. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> It also takes some work posing the new pieces so they fit the character pose.

I recognise the last one from somewhere (FLB). I'd import the gif into my picture file to trace him if I had it.

The first one would make a mighty fine Peter Bracewell, but can obv be used as a new render. Can't say I recognise them. Great renders btw. If all the db was of this quality, I'd be more inclined to play GAMMA. Right now, it's just too much crappy ones. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Ah yes, Pessao. I remember now.

m2 does look shitty. VBigV made some excellent renders at the time using v3 (I think), so I don't think the models are to blame. I still use v4 and I think the renders look good enough. It all depends on the work that the creator did on the render. I know half-assed renders when I see them (as I've made a sh*tload of 'em <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />). Genesis 2 is supposed to be better-looking, but I just don't have the energy to learn to use it. V4 looks a little more cartoony, which is excellent for games. The Daz people come with different models every damn year.

Anyhow: Me and MT have over 100 renders ready for inclusion (many of them recycled from my earlier renders), using the Weidt characters without render. We took those characters so that people playing the Weidt mod can import them without any extra work and still enjoy rendered fighters. I'm sure Weidt won't mind. If anything, he'll like it. It look a long time because I had to come up with different textures for the upper wear (something obsolete for male renders), and even know they look the same.
