Promotion is based in the Tri-State Area. What the hell, the promotion's name is Agent P Wrestling. So...AP(W). Cool. I'm stealing their picture.

And the owner?

Naonobu Murkami.

I hate everyone.

Owner Goals:

  1. In 2 years, do not go below #37 in Importance.
  2. In 2 years, do not be in debt.
  3. For 2 years, do not hire anyone who has been in trouble with the law.
  4. For 1 year, 35 Basics minimum for wrestlers.
  5. For 16 months, 35 Athletics minimum for wrestlers.

Preliminary Roster:

Rules:

  1. Obviously, Athletics and Basics > 35.
  2. Negotiated with everyone at or above 30 popularity.
  3. Negotiated with everyone at or below30 popularity with at least 60 psychology.
  4. Did not sign anyone who wanted a title run or a downside (or too expensive or ran out of time). Did, after about midway through negotiations, offer the same contract [with an increase in pay] to offset title run for people.
  5. If they want to "explore other options," let them.

First-Round Cuts:

  1. Cut everyone (aside from my owner ._. ) who costs $600 or more.

What, 12 wrestlers (down from...like 50 or 60)? Exactly what I need? YES!

Oh, and yes, I technically cheated by making the Gauges' contracts 1 day long. If I fired one, the other would hate me. Given that I have yet to run a show and that this is an initial filter for my roster, I don't really care that I cheated.

And the Brendons.

And Nadia Snow/Stephanie Wade.

  • Angel de Mexico
  • Davis Wayne Newton
  • Eve Grunge
  • Geoff Borne
  • Myself (I Hate This Game)
  • Jon Jetson
  • Kinuye Mushashibo
  • Mr. Lucha III
  • Naonobu Murkami
  • Raphael
  • Rolling Johnny Stones
  • Roz Larren
  • The Tic
  • Zoe Ammis

Our backstage is at 81.3%, with all the negative-effect backstage rules checked.

So I need some announcers/commentators/referees/etc.

I'm negotiating with every referee that I can who has less than 5 popularity in the USA. I'll release the expensive ones (or not hire them at all). Same with the announce desk and road agent. Actually, considering Roger Rogers is the only applicable road agent, I'll probably just foot the duties myself, pass them off on Murkami, or let DWN get some work. Or someone else; I acutally have loads of talent.

*hum de hum...*

That's the desk: $300/$100/$150. I got Gregory Chapman and Elegance at $100 each for refereeing; one's better at that role, while the other is...sorta okay at angles.

That puts us at $750 for non-workers; I thus have $2,250 for wrestlers each show. Let me put that in writing:

I will spend no more that $3,000 for the talent of a show.

Predictions in a sec.

Minimum psychology of 60? Those are some tough rules. In my RTG games I just hire two or three moderately talented guys to be in the main event and fill the rest of my roster with the cheapest talent I can find (Less than 10 pop nationwide seems to go for about 100-150$ PPA.) Then once I get to Small I start worrying about having actual talent on the roster.

You do have an impressive list of workers, but your going to have to trouble keeping your finances afloat.

I agree. Fire him. He's a dick and you don't need three commentators at Local. Several times I haven't even had a colour commentator until Small, I just filled in a charismatic wrestler instead. (In my own RTG I put Gil Thomas there, as he was my owner and cost like $50 because he's a non wrestler/non personality)

You already decided not to hire one, but you don't need a dedicated road agent. In my 0/0/0/0 I didn't hire an actual road agent until regional. They are invariably expensive owing to their respect/pop levels, or alternatively, are not worth hiring, as if they are not popular, they probably weren't that good at wrestling... so don't rate highly as a road agent anyway.

I've never seen the Kozue story before, like, ever. What does that mean?

As Tib said, you don't need guys that good at Local, even refining below $600 PPA. My best guys at Local, the last two occasions, have been respectively Brendan Idol and Connie Morris in US, Bob Casey and Nomad in Canada. Everything is better than 0. I'm fairly sure you would have to be trying to book bad shows to do badly at Local (I managed a 4 rating the other day, that required Sozen Ishinomori vs Paranoia, where neither had any popularity (so between jobbers) was a domination and Paranoia was rusty).

Don't use your boss ever. I'm 99% sure that happiness-as-worker is different from happiness-as-owner anyway.

Edit: Release one of the refs too. You don't need 'em both.

ALL OF THIS. Maybe twice even. You/DWN as Road Agent (unless you face each other), Honey & DWN as Commentary (he can do both in one segment) and you for winning all matches. Simple formula.

On the one hand, your lack of faith in me is depressing. On the other hand, it's also entirely warranted. On the other hand, you guys hate the commentator, which is totally awesome.

I'm going to fire the guy. If he ends up having good announcer chemistry tonight, then I'll fake-fire him. As for the wrestlers, I believe both are unemployed; had one of them worked elsewhere, I'd have kept them. I think Chapman's the better one, so I'll be keeping him full-time.

Kozue's message: I've seen things like that a few times before. Typically, though, the person hasn't been employed for awhile, pushing them to being available elsewhere. I might be getting the unemployed thing mixed up with stopping freelance, but regardless, him being ON A WRITTEN CONTRACT is amusing.

Annnnd I think that's it. Where's the show?

Might have gipped myself out of a few points by putting myself in the main event, but I probably would have had angle penalties if I hadn't.

In other news, I'm bleeding from the back of my shoulder. I mean me, the person typing this. My right shoulder. Kinda sucks.

Sadly, Higa signed with 5SSW.

I also found a random gen from the DeColt powerhouse that has B-level entertainment skills alongside great star quality. Crap wrestler, but **** that I found me a potentially great commentator.

Strategy going forward:

  • Let Agent 69 run roughshod over everyone that isn't me, just for kicks.
  • Hire a new guy each month just to feed to myself.
  • Random undercard, possibly.
  • Get Mr. Commentator as popular as possible; bleed popularity to me.
