I like the suggestions boltinho, i do concur with whats been mentioned we need to allow CZCW and IPW to create themselves some matches or they will suffer. On the emails front why dont whomever is in charge of advancing just let whoever know/dropbox the files for them and without being too strict lets all try and be checking on here daily. Im on my mobile right now at work bit i promise i'll finalise my promotion when i get home. When are we thinking for a start?

For a start, I'd say after the New Year. Christmas is around the corner and so is New Year so there can't be a guarantee of everyone being on and stuff. A new year's start seems fair.

 

This. I'm planning on setting up files on Dec 31st or Jan 1st.

 

Can everyone please let me know user talents here and PM the email address they want to use? Either from Dropbox or just straight files.

The roster is set as:

 

Boltinho EMLL

Michigan Hero IPW

Jingo CILL (Mexico?)

Zergon FCW or NYCW

20Legend TBC

Charismatic Enigma CZCW

 

I would suggest the following:

  • User characters to be set as canon booker
  • Shows to be run concurrently through the month and files passed only for shows to be run. So you'd just get them once per month each.
  • With the new negotiations this shouldn't be a problem. Just do your negotiations on your first day and everyone will advance 3-4 days so you should be able to confirm.
  • Before the game officially starts everyone will get the files with no advancement to set gimmick changes/turns, storylines, advance booking etc.
  • Advance booking in game can only be set directly after a show. To simulate small companies doing a "Next month you can see..." announcement.
  • Only standard match types, gimmicks, angles etc to be used.
  • No rules on roster size, poaching or alliances. Do whatever you can get away with.
  • Try to not change pictures unless absolutely necessary.
  • Each player gets 3 full days per turn. A game this size is always going to run slowly I'm afraid but that should be sufficient and we'd get through a month every 2.5 weeks. plenty of time for planning/writing up/etc.
  • No new players unless everyone is happy. And [assuming this works OK] not for the first year at all.

Any thoughts?

 

I'm okay with everything here and i think i will go to Mexico and CILL.

 

On the new players front i'm happy with what everyone else suggests but i'd certainly say anyone who wants in maybe after our first month i'd be happy with but if they fail to meet (loose) deadlines they can easily be taken out, and even replaced with the way the new system works!?

 

I'm cool with the New Year ... Even though i have that Dynasty itch that needs scratching .... Like now :)

Just one more heads up - people can add their own user talents 'in game' if they want to, rather than you having to do it for everyone

 

I'm in awe of the organising abilities of those of you getting these games started, by the way - great stuff!

How we are going to do those e-mails, is it just once a month or when ever there is important e-mail that requires? I´m ok either way but I would prefer the ladder option simply because the possibility of workers getting stolen but also because once a month option might make it hard to re-negotiate contracts with your current workers (since it´s possible that you get the warning day or two after you pass the files and don´t get them back until the negotion period is over).

 

I will have everything set to 5 for user talents but like Jaded said it can actually be done once the game is created to we can just left the user talents to zero and fix them on first day.

 

As for the extra show if top champ is stolen, I´m ok with that.

Nice. Good to have more rivalry. You can always get started with setting up, roster summary, planning, OOC, etc...

We can always be flexible. Shouldn't be too tricky sending files out of the normal loop for negotiation issues.

 

I'm against extra shows (would a promotion really be able to pull everything together in just a few days?) but it looks like I'm a minority so fair enough. How about you can bring your next show forward if a ME champ leaves? But you'd forego the next one regardless of how far away it is. So if you have a show in W1 and the next day your champ hands his notice in you could run the next show but then not have one for another month and a half.

In terms of timing what about:

 

W1 mid Boltinho

W2 early Michigan hero

That way everyone gets the 4-5 days that's fair share (28/6).

 

Obviously swapping is fine. I don't care where I go really.

How are we running this i.e. a dynasty similar to 8 Rings of Wrestling or just a private game? I'm all for making my end a dynasty.

 

I'm happy to throw my support behind the dynasty idea as well.

 

Im happy to update as I go along but I cant commit to writing a full diary at the mo. Just not enough time.

 

I always saw it as updates so everything can be followed but without anyone having to wade through pages of exposition and dialogue to get there...

 

I actually have a massive issue with this. While I understand where you're coming from, the fact that this version of TEW (in my experience thus far) seems to require you to offer downsides to everyone, meaning that taking a month off would pretty much kill a regional fed (except maybe IPW :D). Having to pay all your talent twice one month, and then again the next with no income is going to drain finances massively. OK. Ive got no real issue so we'll go with that option CE.

We have liftoff gents!

 

File set up and sent on to Michigan Hero.

 

As per conversations everyone gets the data for the first day (maybe two) and then we rotate it for the live days.

 

I'll get a game thread up tomorrow (as time allows) and get my initial thoughts up on the awesome EMLL roster.

Not sure where to post this so I put it here. It looks like my hotmail account counted some of the posts Jingo and Boltinho send to me as Junk mail, which is why this game has been stuck from last friday. I try to check my junk-mail folder better in the future (and I marked the posts as not junk) so hopefully it won´t happen again. Sorry about the delay guys, I get my turn done as soon as I get back from work. :o
