Attendance: 10,000 (sold out!)

Show Runtime: Two Hours

Rating: B+

This show increased our popularity in 24 regions.

Last Week on Monday Nitro

We open the show with highlights of last week's episode, as Randy Savage is revealed as having abducted the wife of Dustin Rhodes, Terri, and is holding her as a hostage! Dustin tried to find out where she was, but ended up hitting some severe low blows on both Syxx and Scott Hall! What could happen with this extreme situation tonight on Monday Nitro, six days away from SuperBrawl VI?!

Rating: B-

The Rock 'n Roll Express vs. California Kip and Devon King w/Woman and Harley Race

No time for talking tonight as we head straight to the ring with Ricky and Robert! They wow the crowd with their tag team offense, but Woman plays a factor in stopping their momentum cold when she jumps onto the ring apron, leading to Kip hammering Morton from behind. From there, this match mainly consists of Kip cheating while Devon fights more fairly, and that leads to Morton getting the hot tag to Gibson! Robert comes in cleaning house, and Harley Race even gets involved – but a miscue leaves him punching Devon! As Charles Robinson ushers Harley out of the ring, Kip hits a blatant low blow on Gibson, before hitting him with a piledriver for the victory.

Match Time: 8:25

The Horsemen Ride into Charlotte

Now it's time for talking, as “Mean” Gene Okerlund is in the ring. He welcomes everyone to Charlotte, North Carolina, including one of their favorite sons “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair! All of the Four Horsemen come down to the ring, with the crowd cheering wildly! Flair does the talking here, as he says that two weeks ago, Steve Austin found out; this Sunday, he and the Road Warriors will all find out; that you don't tug Superman's cape, you don't spit in the wind, and you don't get in the face of the Horsemen! Gene asks Ric about the Horsemen being absent last week, but “The Nature Boy” says that they went to Charlotte a week ahead of schedule to start the party early! Flair gets serious for a moment, saying that we are six days away from SuperBrawl, and it is time to be serious about the Road Warriors. Or more so, serious about the party that he and “Double A” are going to have after they score the big victory! Flair even takes a moment to get off topic and tell “the fat boy” in the front row that he'll be happy to send his girlfriend to the Horsemen's hotel party just to say that he's been with someone who personally rode Space Mountain! Flair adds that Owen Hart has only ever smelled an American beer in the past, and so there is no way that he will lose to Austin and sully his Canadian lips with Austin's crappy knockoff! Though Flair does then take a moment to point out that the Horsemen only deal in champagne, but before he can go on the rest of that potential tangent, he gets

Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat comes out, getting a huge reaction from the crowd! Ricky has a microphone of his own, and he says that “times may change, but Ric Flair never does” as he addresses the Horsemen's proposed victory party. Flair tells him that there's some damsels in distress that Ricky should be off worrying about, rather than sticking his nose where it doesn't belong like Steamboat always does. “The Dragon” says that this is his business – because they are live in Charlotte, and this town is under his watchful eyes, drawing another loud cheer! Ricky says that despite the main event that was announced for the evening, perhaps the powers-that-be in WCW can agree to a new one being made: one pitting the Four Horsemen against Ricky Steamboat and three partners who are just sick of hearing Ric Flair come out and run his mouth all the time! “The Nature Boy” laughs at that challenge, saying there isn't four men in Charlotte or anywhere else in the world who can stand up to the combined might of the Horsemen, and he says that Steamboat is bluffing when he says he has three partners already lined up. But then…

It's the Road Warriors! Hawk and Animal come out to the stage, and who's that with them? It's Barry Windham! It looks like we have an eight-man tag tonight in Charlotte!

Notes: Flair enjoyed the freedom to be off-script and performed well, but Guerrero underperformed.

The VP Speaks

The ring is inhabited by Eric Bischoff when we come back from a commercial break, and he is all smiles tonight for one huge reason: Magnum TA is off “somewhere in Hicktown, Texas” with Dustin Rhodes tonight, and that means Eric is the only authority in WCW tonight, so what Eric says tonight, goes! He says that first of all, it seems unfair to the rest of the locker room that neither Dustin Rhodes nor Randy Savage hasn't had a match in a few weeks. So on WCW Saturday Night, Dustin is expected to show up to work, in a match befitting the World champion: in non-title action, he will be in a strap match against United States champion, Terry Gordy! And in fairness, tonight, “The Macho Man” will have a “sure to be hard fought, grueling battle” against……. The Patriot. Eric thanks everyone for coming to “his show” and says to stay tuned as he will see them all again later tonight!

Notes: Bischoff enjoyed being off-script and really performed well.

The Twilight Express w/Stan Lane vs. The Heavenly Bodies w/Theodore R. Long

Much like earlier, this is a hotly contested tag match, only the other way around. In this one, the Bodies are never really able to gain footing, as Eaton and Taylor take everything they dish out and put it back tenfold. Stan Lane plays the difference maker in that regard, keeping Long from getting involved like Woman and Race did in the opening match. Tom and Jimmy take over on Taylor briefly, but in the end Terry is able to come off the ropes and shocks Pritchard his patented Fivearm smash, covering him for an out-of-nowhere victory!

WCW United States Heavyweight Championship: Terry Gordy vs. Rick Martel

“Lionheart” Chris Jericho and bodyguard The Warlord come out to the commentary booth before this match gets started. Tony Schiavone asks Jericho what he's doing out here, Chris saying that he's here to watch “Bic” Martel again, before in six days at SuperBrawl when he lights him on fire!

The US champion is on his own roll as of late, having just dropped Colonel Parker and the Stud Stable and brawling all the time with fellow “tough guys” Meng, Bubba Rogers, and Paul Orndorff lately. Gordy doesn't seem to care about any of that, but he definitely isn't being paid by the hour as he takes it to Martel at the opening bell. Rick is a fighter though, despite what Jericho says about him while on commentary. But no matter how much Martel tries to stick and move, eventually Gordy catches him. The end of the match sees Martel start getting his momentum in order, taking the champion down with numerous rollups and pinfall attempts, including a sunset flip that nearly scores the three. The crowd are getting excited for a title change, but Warlord has sneaked down to the ring in all the excitement under order from Jericho. Rick goes for a victory roll against the ropes, but in the midst of it Warlord grabs his ankle, causing Martel to drop to the mat from his own momentum. When he gets to his feet, he gets slammed with a vicious lariat from Gordy, and three seconds later the champion has retained the title.

The action isn't over yet though, as former champion Meng hits the ring to attack Gordy! The two big brawlers begin to go at it, when they are joined by Big Bubba Rogers along with Colonel Parker, who seems to be calling for a special amount of punishment on both of his former charges. Paul Orndorff then comes out, and he is hitting everything that moves with a wooden chair, which he breaks over Meng's head! Doug Dillinger and the rest of WCW security finally get everyone pulled away from each other, as Jesse Ventura says that we need to actually get a match with these four in it one of these days so that they can work all of this out!

Notes: Jericho was superb off-script, the crowd in the palm of his hand. Col. Parker then was seen as changing his gimmick to “Evil Money Bags” which rated a B+.

Match Time: 8:07

When the Magnum is Away…

Eric Bischoff joins us at the commentary booth, taking over the third headset for a moment. He says that WCW has a lot of very talented performers (adding that most of them are in the Kings of Wrestling) but sometimes it's just time to say goodbye to your “Old Yeller”. Bischoff says that after their “poor showing” earlier tonight, as popular as they are, he has sent the paperwork out and officially released Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson, the Rock 'n Roll Express, from World Championship Wrestling, effective immediately! Tony cries foul, and says that he hopes Magnum TA can do something about this, as a smarmy Eric again thanks everyone for watching.

Notes: Eric improvised well here.

Rey Mysterio Jr., JPL, and Chris Candido w/Tammy Lynn vs. “Youth Warrior” Juventud Guerrera, Ultimo Dragon, and Lance Storm w/Larry Zbyszko

“The Professor” Mike Tenay joins us for commentary during this cruiserweight (and JPL) action here, and he's the only one who seems able to keep up with it. Bodies fly all around the ring, despite JPL and Storm mostly keeping things grounded when they are in the ring. The match breaks down during a big brawl, when Guerrera dives out of the way of JPL's flying knee – and it catches Candido square in the face! The two men who will meet for the TV championship on the WCW Worldwide pre-show in six days end up arguing with one another, leaving Mysterio to fend for himself and fall victim to a kick frenzy and rollup by the former Cruiserweight champion, Ultimo Dragon.

Match Time: 7:10

Words from our Number One Contender

“Macho Man” Randy Savage w/Woman vs. The Patriot

“Macho Man” comes out to the ring, but before the match begins he takes the microphone from Gary Cappetta. Savage says that the master plan is almost complete: all it took was a stop by the Rhodes home in Texas right after Clash of the Champions, and soon the title will be around the waist of “The Macho Man” oooh yeah! He says that he was asked earlier as to where Terri is at tonight since Savage is in the building; but he tells the truck to roll the footage he gave them, and it shows that Terri is in a room that is (supposedly) not the Independence Arena, and her area is being watched over by Sting! Tony says that he doesn't believe it's the real Sting, but regardless he has the black baseball bat, so a formidable foe to stand guard nonetheless. Randy says that even though he made it personal for Dustin, to him it is just business – and that business will be bringing him and the Kings of Wrestling the World's Heavyweight title in six days at SuperBrawl, so buy a ticket, and don't be late, mark the date, yeah! Savage drives the knife in even further, saying that he knows Dustin will want to leave him for dead, and maybe he should; but what will be more important to him? Will Rhodes choose restraint and his championship, or will he choose revenge for his little wifey?

Despite how decorated an athlete The Patriot is, he is no Randy Savage – and especially a focused Randy Savage. Savage just runs roughshod over his opponent, wearing him down viciously and quickly before finishing him off with the standard double axe handle/flying elbow drop combination.

Notes: Savage improvised well, and came across very well.

Match Time: 5:28

In the Interest of Fairness…

The arena is joined once again by Executive Vice President of WCW, Eric Bischoff. Eric's wide smile is dripping with sarcasm as he talks about how as soon as he made his previous announcement, a lot of people came to his door asking him to reconsider. Eric says that he does not reconsider his decisions – he does what is best for WCW, every time! And to that end, he says that he will make an example to show that he is the best power figure in World Championship Wrestling, by also publicly firing two more people who we saw tonight “just don't have it anymore” the Heavenly Bodies! Bischoff says that maybe now, people will take him seriously as the force behind WCW that he truly is, and that is why the Kings of Wrestling are on top of the wrestling world. Tony says that he may not have liked the Bodies, they definitely deserved better than this.

Notes: Eric worked the crowd well.

A Conversation Between Friends

Tony Schiavone now narrates that this is a live satellite feed being broadcast from the home of WCW World Heavyweight champion, “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes. WCW Commissioner Magnum TA is with him, not on business reasons but because they are friends. Magnum asks Dustin to give us his thoughts on the whole situation, and Rhodes is as calm as a person can be. You can hear the intensity in his voice though when he starts to talk about when he came home after the Clash and the following Nitro to find a completely dark house. Dustin gets choked up when he starts relaying that for the past two weeks, he's had to look into his little girl's eyes when she asks where mommy is, and it rips his heart out. He says that Randy Savage may not realize just how personal he is taking this, but then again, maybe he does. Rhodes says that as soon as he found out that the KoW had Terri, he wanted to rip Savage apart limb from limb. But now, if he goes too far, he'll lose his title, the thing he's been working for over the last five years to achieve. Magnum helps to ease his troubled mind, though; saying that win, lose, or draw, “The Natural” will face Savage one more time at Uncensored, and he has pulled strings with the WCW Championship Committee to make it so that Rhodes is allowed to name the stipulation for that match! Rhodes gives Magnum a hug, and tells him to be there at ringside for SuperBrawl; as maybe that will be one of the only things that keeps Dustin from losing his temper.

Notes: Dustin was superb off-script here, and Magnum was masterful. The only thing that held this segment back was that fans found it a little short.

“Hot Rod” Roddy Piper w/Harley Race vs. “Loose Cannon” Brian Pillman

Pillmania runs wild in the opening moments of this one, and you have to believe that Piper is having some major flashbacks as Brian rips his shirt off and throws it toward him. It appears in this match that Pillman almost has the number of “the old guard” of Roddy, as he controls a lot of it with his speed and athleticism advantages. However, it's the KoW that wins the day as Scott Hall makes an appearance at ringside, throwing Brian's focus off of the ball and giving Piper a chance to lock in the sleeper. While Brian is infused with the power of Pillmania, not many men can ever stand up to the patented sleeper hold of “Hot Rod” and Brian is unable to answer Mark Curtis after a valiant effort.

Prepare for your Wrestling Weekend!

We now to go some hype central for this weekend. WCW Pro on Friday will feature a match between Disco Inferno and the Ultimo Dragon, while WCW Saturday Night will feature not only the match Eric Bischoff announced earlier but also Diamond Dallas Page taking on Big Bubba Rogers, and the KoW's Jeff Jarrett facing Steve Austin! And make sure you've called your cable company to order WCW SuperBrawl this Sunday!

The Four Horsemen w/Bobby Heenan vs. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, “Blackjack” Barry Windham, and The Road Warriors

The crowd in Charlotte could not be more excited for this match, a definite reach back to the old Jim Crockett roots with this huge eight man tag! This match wastes no time in being out of control, as the Road Warriors charge the ring and chase the Horsemen out of the ring. Bobby Heenan talks strategy with his charges, but the initial plan of attack of just sending Owen into the match doesn't work out well, as he gets shot around like a ping-pong ball by the opposing team! Hart is able to tag out to Anderson, but he rushes right into an Animal powerslam! After they power Arn around, “Double A” manages to tag out to Guerrero – but Hawk lifts him into a gorilla press slam, and Hawk hurls Eddy over the top rope to the floor! The faces have overrun the Horsemen in the opening minutes of the match, and the crowd can't get enough of it!

It's when the match becomes Ricky Steamboat against Ric Flair that the new game plan starts to take shape. Following a chop war, “The Dragon” catches Flair in a side headlock. Flair fires Steamboat into the ropes, ducks beneath him, but as Ricky unconsciously hits the ropes on the other side, Owen catches him with a knee to the back, followed by Flair lifting Steamboat into a precisely placed body slam. A quick tag out to Guerrero, and Eddy leaps over the top rope to hit a flipping senton splash on the former champion, and now the Horsemen begin working their own tag team repertoire. They all tag in and out, getting in punishment on Steamboat as they go. Even when Ricky does make a move toward his corner, the Horsemen reel him back even if they have to cheat to do it.

“The Dragon” finally is able to chop his way out of a predicament, hitting Arn with overhand and knife-edge chops to cause some separation. Anderson hits a knee to Steamboat's midsection, before whipping him to the turnbuckle. Arn charges in, but Steamboat staggers backwards, and their heads collide! Now begins the crawl for both men, and as Anderson tags in Owen, “The Dragon” makes the tag to Windham! “The Blackjack” comes in and hits Hart with big right hands, and he sees the run-in coming as he takes Eddy over with a powerslam! Flair enters the ring but doesn't even get to Barry as Hawk and Animal take him out with a double clothesline! Flair rolls out to the apron as Windham body slams Owen again. He turns around, and catches Flair on the top rope, throwing him down to the mat, before nailing him with a running clothesline! Anderson comes after Windham, but as Barry picks him up for a body slam, Tommy Young gets taken out by Arn's legs! The camera catches Bobby passing a pair of brass knuckles to Eddy, and he prepares to use them when…

Steve Austin's music hits! He charges to the ring and hits the Stunner on Guerrero, causing him to drop the weapon! He then turns around hits the Stunner on Owen, as the Road Warriors take Flair and Anderson out on the floor! Eddy starts to move, but Steamboat takes him out with a tackle to the outside – and Tommy Young regains consciousness just as Barry brings Owen into the ring with a superplex! Windham makes the cover – 1, 2, 3! This one is over, and the crowd cheer for the match they just witnessed as Austin has left through the crowd.

But it turns out he should have stuck around, as the bell has sounded but the Kings of Wrestling troops hit the ring! Roddy Piper and Randy Savage are in complete charge of California Kip, Scott Hall, and The Giant as they pick apart everyone who is still around ringside! Hall takes black spraypaint and marks the mat itself with the “KoW” letters, just before Giant drills first Steamboat, then Windham, and then even Flair down to the mat right onto them! Savage shoves Gary Cappetta and steals the microphone out of his hands, and says that no man is safe! He promises that this is what WCW can expect once “The Macho Man” and the Kings of Wrestling hold the World title, and there ain't a damn thing anybody can do about it! The show goes off the air with the image of the KoW standing large over all forces of WCW, but will that be the scene at SuperBrawl?! Order the show this Sunday to find out!

Match Time: 17:48

I have been away from these boards for over a year and was extremely excited to see "War of the Thrones" still going strong.:)

In better news, has anyone made a game based on War of the Thrones yet? I'd love to hear what people are intending to do with it now that you all have it! :)

I downloaded the file but cant get it to open. Where do I need to put the file in order to play it?

Welcome back, pack!

The file needs set up as a save file, so go into an existing database's save games folder and make a new folder. Place contents there. :D

For anyone else who missed the file the first time around and doesn't want to trudge back through all my Hotline posts to get it, I added a link to it in the show history, right beneath the January 1996 heading.

Loser Must Drink an Entire Case of the Winner's Beer Tonight

Steve Austin vs. Owen Hart w/Bobby Heenan

Time Limit: 30:00

Referee: Nick Patrick

The show opens with one of the crowd's more looked forward to matches, even if it started under a rather silly feud. Hart and Austin are two of WCW's greatest young stars though, and the pair put on an opening match to remember for sure. Owen and Bobby try to keep Austin down with some cheap tactics. But Owen isn't all that as he uses his own amazing technical acumen as well, using some submission holds to wear on Austin's neck. Steve has his own great moves too though, and he ducks a clothesline before hitting Hart with a Lou Thesz press, throwing right hands into the face of his opponent! Austin hits the ropes and drills an elbow into Owen's chin, but only a two count. Hart comes back with a throwing belly-to-belly suplex, again only a two count though. Owen wants to lock in what is either the Indian or Scorpion Deathlock, but we may never know as Austin grabs Hart for a rollup – but Owen is able to get out at two. Austin uses the momentum swinging in his favor to get Hart into the turnbuckle, stomping him to the mat. But when he turns and motions to the fans, Owen is fast as a cat in jumping to the middle turnbuckle and catching Steve with a missile dropkick! Hart scores another long two count off of that, and he starts getting Austin ready to hit the ropes. But Austin reverses, not releasing the grasp in order to pull Owen back toward himself before kicking him in the stomach and STUNNER! Austin nails Hart with the Stunner, and he covers for the 1 – 2 – 3!

“Mean” Gene Okerlund comes out of the back as Owen is heading back up the ramp, and it seems WCW security are at his side. Gene says that there is no way Hart can get out of the stipulation he signed the contract for – the case of beer is already being delivered to the locker room, but Gene has one of them right here. He and security force Hart to drink it on the spot, and Owen immediately looks like he's turning green! He tries to run, but the security guards keep him from getting away, and they drag him back to the locker room with force, as Austin celebrates in the ring with one of his own!

Winner in 9:56: Steve Austin

Notes: Gene Okerlund did some masterful crowd interactions while improvising.

Rick Martel vs. “Lionheart” Chris Jericho w/The Warlord

Time Limit: 30:00

Referee: Charles Robinson

We go straight to more action on this very high action pay-per-view. Tony talks about how that this match has been brewing since December, as the upstart Jericho started harassing the veteran Martel verbally while assaulting him physically alongside his bodyguard, The Warlord. Tony adds that Jericho should have faced Martel last month at the Clash, but he hid behind Warlord; but Jesse points out that the “Lionheart” had a legitimate injury at the time. This match would be rather hotly contested, however Jericho spends most of the match running away and playing scared. Rick keeps on him, using every amount of his energy to try and bring Chris into the ring while keeping Warlord out of it. A lucky break works out for Jericho though, as Martel ends up on the ring apron for just a few seconds too long, and Jericho is able to hit a springboard dropkick from the inside of the ring to take control. He wastes no time in locking Rick into his own boston crab, the Liontamer, and in the center of the ring, Martel has no choice but to submit.

The Annihilator w/Dr. Karnage vs. The Flying Spyder

Time Limit: 30:00

Referee: Randy “Pee Wee” Anderson

Mike Tenay takes over for Jesse Ventura on commentary here. Our next match is one that we know all your kids are staying up past their bedtime on a school night to watch, as the skilled Annihilator goes one-on-one with the superbly talented Flying Spyder. The Annihilator proves himself as quite a force to be reckoned with, and Mike explains that perhaps he was given some type of special training in the Himalayas to be so talented. In the end, however, the ingenuity and flexibility of the Spyder proves the difference, as he dodges a charge in the corner by slipping between the top and middle ropes to the apron. Annihilator crashes against the post, dropping to the mat in perfect position for the Web-Shooting Star Press. Dr. Karnage doesn't seem very happy on the outside!

WCW World Cruiserweight Championship

“Ice Man” Dean Malenko vs. “Das Wunderkind” Alex Wright

Time Limit: 30:00

Referee: Mark Curtis

Mike Tenay notes the aggression in this match as being what the Cruiserweight division is all about, as these two men tear into one another with high impact offense. Wright nearly scores the victory numerous times with everything ranging from a missile dropkick to a succession of European uppercuts in the corner, but Malenko blocks his attempt at the German suplex every time. Dean answers back by tying the taller challenger in knots with submission holds, but he finally scores big with a gutbuster from the middle rope! From there he locks the Cloverleaf in square in the center of the ring. Despite his reach advantages throughout this contest, Wright cannot make it to the ropes, and he has to give this match up rather than risk injury.

Surge vs. The Willow w/Dr. Karnage

Time Limit: 30:00

Referee: Mark Curtis

Tony and Mike discuss how Dr. Karnage says there is a strong connection between these two, and it seems very obvious that while Surge fights hard, he pulls back from delivering any serious blows. The Willow has no such qualms though, and he punishes Surge for many minutes during this match. Rio the Renegade and King Puma appear at ringside to try and keep this one from featuring any interference, but the evil Doctor finds a way to slip his charge a needle, which he inserts into Surge behind Mark Curtis's back! Surge falls to the mat, and Willow picks up a very cheap victory. Dr. Karnage laughs loudly at this turn of events… what could it all mean?!

On his way out of the locker room, Arn Anderson stops next to him. Arn takes a sip of the beer, and tells Owen to suck it up – after all, this is Arn's favorite brand! Anderson heads toward the ring, and Hart tries to hold down a hiccup.

The Road Warriors vs. “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair and “The Enforcer” Arn Anderson w/Bobby Heenan

Time Limit: 30:00

Referee: Charles Robinson

Jesse Ventura rejoins Tony Schiavone for this match, as four of the greatest of all time in professional wrestling are in this match – which Tony Schiavone gushes about. Hawk and Animal dominate the Horsemen from the opening bell, but are quickly taken out of their game when Flair hits a succession of low blows on Hawk while “The Brain” was distracting young Charles Robinson. Ric and Arn are masters of ring psychology, and they utilize every ounce of their being to wear down the gargantuan Road Warrior, but there's nothing they can do to put him down for very long. Their best tactic becomes wearing down the left leg of Hawk, as Flair takes us to school, all the while strutting around. Anderson may be known more for wearing down the arm and neck region of the body, but he quickly adapts to the leg, as Jesse says that it is all about survival there; if the big man cannot get to his feet, he can't throw you anywhere. Hawk even has his knee buckle on him as he hefted “Double A” up for a gorilla press slam, which nearly gets Anderson a three count when he fell on top of Hawk. The match becomes a full-on donnybrook when Robinson gets caught with a missed clothesline from Hawk during his comeback, as Anderson and Animal join in on the match and brawl in every corner of the ring. Animal sends Flair into the turnbuckle so viciously that “The Nature Boy” flies over the top rope to the apron, and then Hawk follows along with a clothesline that drops Flair to the floor! From there, Animal lifts Anderson up like he were a small child, and they load him into the Doomsday Device! However, Bobby Heenan jumps onto the ring apron, and amid the confusion Ric Flair takes a tire iron to Hawk's knee! Hawk drops to the mat, and Flair nails Animal in the ribs with the weapon as well! Anderson rolls himself and Animal out of the ring, as well as hiding the evidence, as “The Nature Boy” locks in the figure four leglock on Hawk! Charles Robinson comes back around just as Hawk appears to be in such severe pain that he keeps passing out momentarily! Robinson ends up counting him down, and the Horsemen steal this match!

“Mean” Gene Okerlund stands by alongside WCW Executive Vice President Eric Bischoff, who has a huge smile on his face. You can hear Rick and Scott Steiner being introduced in the background, and Gene says that he hopes the Steiner Brothers's pride didn't get them into a huge mess this time, as they didn't even bother to find out what KoW members they are facing off with tonight! He asks Eric to shed some light on who is heading to the ring for the upcoming match, and Bischoff says that as much as he has always liked Rick and Scott, they've made the wrong choice in not just handing the titles over. He says that now, they will be taking on the biggest athlete in the Kings of Wrestling, The Giant! Eric says that it's not as if Giant needs a partner, but they have hand-selected the man who will take The Giant under his wing and teach him what it's like to be the biggest man in wrestling – the man who wants gold more than anything: “The Monster” Vader! Gene is flabbergasted at this massive super team that the KoW have put together, and Woman leads the duo away to the ring!

WCW World Tag Team Championships

The Steiner Brothers vs. Vader and The Giant w/Woman

Time Limit: 45:00

Referee: Randy “Pee Wee” Anderson

Take your “tag team formula” and throw it out the window for this one, as these four men display nothing but full-on brutality to one another. Rick and Scott show little fear in the face of their roughly eight hundred pounds of challengers tonight, and at the same time the KoW duo are not put out of their game by the reputation of the Steiner Brothers. Vader drills Scott with a headbutt early in the match, which seems to knock him silly, but Scott is able to shake it off just in time to use a big Steinerline that actually drops Vader to the mat! Jesse points out that as of yet, no man has even taken The Giant off of his feet here in WCW, and the champions make sure to do what they can to try and change that. Vader is “The Monster” as always and he is always game for a fight, as he trades rights with “The Dog Faced Gremlin” in a complete war of attrition. The match is nearly over when Rick sets Giant up for a belly to belly suplex, and it looks as though Giant could be going on a ride whether he wants to or not, if not for Vader stepping in and breaking it up. The match may have lasted all night long. Woman keeps Randy Anderson's attention so that he doesn't count Vader or Giant out as they brawl with Scott Steiner on the outside, and it's at that point we get a very surprising visitor…

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/sting2.jpg

Sting rappels down from the rafters, and he looks over everything… before grabbing Rick Steiner! He pulls Rick backwards and drills him with a dominant reverse DDT! Sting leaves the arena the same way that he had arrived, and Giant throws Scott Steiner halfway up the aisle! Vader enters the ring, and he hits a running splash onto the prone body of Rick – and with the most shocking of assists, the championships change hands!

Fans boo loudly, but there's nothing they can do except chant “We want Sting!” Tony wonders if that was the real Sting or the fake one, but the crowd comes back to cheers when Cactus Jack comes out and starts attacking The Giant! Tony points out that Giant's assault was the reason Cactus was unable to participate tonight in the eight man tag match. No matter how big and bad The Giant is, Jack backs down from no man, and it takes a host of other wrestlers coming out to separate the two! Jesse wonders if we will see more from this brawl, as Tony claims that WCW may not be big enough to withstand the force of these two taking one another on!

Winners in 9:36 and NEW World Tag Team champions: Vader and The Giant

Notes: Eric was superb off-script in his interview, and Gene enjoyed the freedom as well.

Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, “All-American” Ron Simmons, and Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. Johnny B. Badd and Harlem Heat w/Badd Girl

Time Limit: 30:00

Referee: Randy “Pee Wee” Anderson

The surprise of Mysterio is not lost on Johnny B. Badd, who is steaming mad that his handicap match was thwarted by who Jesse dubs “Mr. Money Bags” Ted DiBiase and his crooked lawyer. Simmons and Mysterio clean house on Harlem Heat as the match opens, as Steamboat chops Badd around the ring. As Badd and the Heat leave the ring to regroup, Rey climbs upon Ron's shoulders and he leaps off, hitting the trio with a flying cross body block! The crowd are excited about this one with each step of the way, as Badd, Steamboat, and Mysterio bring all kinds of high flying action to the match, while Simmons, Booker, and Stevie provide some of the best bar room brawling you can find. Ron gets clipped with a leaping side kick by Booker, which puts “The All-American” on the mat. But before long he finds his way out of the situation, as he sends Stevie Ray into the turnbuckle and tags out to “The Dragon”! JPL comes down to ringside partway through the match, and he pulls Booker down to start throwing punches at him! Tony says that if you missed Worldwide earlier, Booker T and Stevie Ray cost JPL the Television championship, and this looks like the payback for their actions! As all the commotion goes on, Johnny ends up heading up the aisle to escape a chase by Ron, leaving Stevie Ray all on his own – and after a springboard hurricanrana from Rey, Steamboat rolls up the dazed Ray for the deciding pinfall!

Winners in 12:19: Ricky Steamboat, Ron Simmons, and Rey Mysterio Jr.

“Mean” Gene is at the interview podium, talking about what a great show we have seen thus far here at SuperBrawl! He then brings in his guest at this time, “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes! The WCW champion enters the frame, and he is clearly a tired man. Gene asks him if he can clearly focus tonight on Randy Savage, a difficult opponent even under the best of circumstances, with his wife and title both hanging in the balance? Rhodes says that in his mind, he is clear; all he has to do is go out there and put all he has into the match, and he will retain the championship that he has fought so hard to win and keep. He adds that in his heart, he is not so clear – because Randy Savage made this such a personal match, abducting his wife, the mother of their child. He says that in his heart, he hears their daughter asking where mommy is, asking when she will be home. Rhodes's face turns red as he thinks about it, and he says that this mind game may just work, if the situation plays itself out – but with Magnum at his side, he shouldn't lose his cool. He should be able to keep calm, and wrestle the match of his life. He says that Dakota is watching the show tonight, just as she always does. But he says that he has given some very important instructions to “Grandpa Dust” that she should be in bed before the main event starts, because he doesn't want her to see what Daddy is going to do tonight! He closes the interview by saying that whatever happens, Randy Savage will learn something that he should have known all along: that you don't mess with a man's family!

“Loose Cannon” Brian Pillman vs. “Outsider” Scott Hall w/Woman

Time Limit: 30:00

Referee: Nick Patrick

Pillmania runs wild all over Scott Hall to open this match! Brian drives knife handed chops into the chest of Hall, who looks as though he is going to cave in with a few more of them! Brian gets reversed into the ropes, but he ducks a clothesline and nails a big standing dropkick to send Hall out of the ring! Brian cups his hand to his ear as the crowd cheers wildly, before ripping his t-shirt and throwing it into Hall's face! Scott gains traction in a hurry when he catches a flying bodypress attempt and hurls Brian with a fall away slam. Syxx wanders out during the match and takes his own liberties, slapping Brian while he is on the ropes behind Nick Patrick's back. Hall hits a series of punches on Pillman before landing a spinning clothesline that scores him a two count. One of the biggest moves of the match is when Hall crotches Pillman on the top turnbuckle when he was trying to speed the match up by leaping to the top rope. Scott then drives Brian to the mat with a huge belly to back suplex, but Hall is too exhausted on his own right to make the cover right away and only scores a two count at that as well. Just as Brian starts to make some headway, Hall makes a motion as Patrick is out of position, and Syxx pulls Brian's neck across the top rope, snapping him back to the mat! Hall starts the setup for the Outsider's Edge, but Brian flips away from it, runs up the turnbuckle, and hits a big cross body! Brian wastes no time in jumping up and getting Hall with the Loaded Gun DDT, and he makes a quick cover to score a win seemingly out of nowhere in a great match!

Syxx was already halfway into the ring though, and he stomps on Pillman's head to begin an assault. He starts making motions to the back, just as Brian recovers and starts hammering Syxx with punches! Pillmania runs wild even when Hall comes into the picture, hitting both men with a double noggin knocker! But one thing stops Brian from doing anything else, and that is the massive hand of the newly crowned World Tag Team champion, The Giant! A vicious Chokeslam drills Brian to the mat, and then a big splash from Vader leaves him lying. It looks like it is time for the beatdown to commence, but that's when the former champions, Rick and Scott Steiner, hit the ring! Woman manages to get Giant out of the ring, but Vader, Hall, and especially Syxx feel the wrath of the Steiners and then Pillmania! Syxx takes a Steinerizer to leave him flat on the mat, as Brian, Rick, and Scott pose to the crowd as “American Made” plays them out.

Winner in 11:42: Brian Pillman

Notes: Vader looked good during the beatdown, but Syxx performed poorly.

Owen (slurring his speech) tells him that it still sucks compared to Canadian! Austin tells him that's just too bad… and he kicks Hart in the stomach! “The Total Package” Lex Luger comes down to the ring now, and he is shaking his head. He gets the microphone from Gary and says that at least tonight, when he comes out here to try and talk to Sting, at least he knows Sting is here. He shakes his head again, saying that he wants to know what is going on with his friend, but now he wants to also give him a piece of his mind after Sting's actions earlier tonight! So yet again, Luger asks Sting to join him in the ring. He circles around, looking toward the back. He starts looking up toward the rafters, and that's when a voice calls back to Luger…

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/ericbischoff.jpg

But it's Eric Bischoff! Eric has his own microphone, and he demeans Lex by asking if he's really so stupid. Luger tries to talk, but Eric tells the production truck to cut his microphone, which they do. “You're looking around here, you're looking up at the ceiling, but the place you'll find Sting is simple – he's in the locker room of the Kings of Wrestling!”

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/fakesting.jpg

Eric brings out “Sting” but Tony is able to deduce that this is definitely not the real Sting. “Sting” stands next to Bischoff, who tells Luger to just stop talking. He tells Lex that he's chasing his tail out here, because Sting obviously wants nothing to do with him or WCW anymore. “Look at the black and white facts,” he says, “you pushed Sting to this, and now that he's with the winning team, giving the KoW the wins and the titles, he might just hand us all of WCW on a silver platter pretty soon!” He tells Luger to smarten up, do what he, Randy Savage, Roddy Piper, Harley Race, and Sting have all done: join the winning side, the Kings of Wrestling! Eric and “Sting” leave, as Lex screams “No! Never!” toward them, throwing down the microphone in frustration before leaving the ring.

WCW (“The People's Champion” Diamond Dallas Page, “Blackjack” Barry Windham, Bam Bam Bigelow, and Jake “The Snake” Roberts) vs. KoW (“Hot Rod” Roddy Piper, Jeff Jarrett, California Kip, and Brian Adams) w/Harley Race and Woman

Time Limit: 45:00

Referee: Mark Curtis

Unfortunately, it seems as though the Kings of Wrestling brought in a ringer as well! Big Brian Adams unexpectedly rounds out the field on the KoW side, as Roddy Piper scoffs at Roberts being with Page, Bigelow, and Windham. He yells at Jake that all he had to do was pick up the phone and he could have been on their side! Cactus Jack joins commentary as the bell sounds, Jarrett and Windham starting the contest. Barry points to Piper, wanting him in the ring, but instead “Hot Rod” only provides a distraction for Jeff to attack from behind. The KoW tag in and out on Windham, starting this match off on top, but Barry catches Kip with a big hip toss, and Kip then ends up being dragged into the other corner and dominated by all four of the WCW team! “The Snake” gets in and hits a flurry of jabs on him before blasting Kip with a hard right, which leads to Bam Bam dropping on him with a falling headbutt!

Dallas Page runs the ropes and gets caught by an elbow from behind by Roddy Piper, and that along with Brian Adams entering the ring brings the match around to the KoW side again. Adams shows his power advantage, utilizing some of what Tony calls “crushing” blows to Page's ribs especially. He drives a lot of elbows and stomps into the area, before Jarrett comes in and hooks in an abdominal stretch. Kip reaches in for some added leverage behind Mark Curtis's back, but Curtis gets wise to it and kicks them apart before DDP manages to hip toss out of the situation! His comeback doesn't last long though, as the wily Piper tags into the ring and keeps him from tagging out by running over and attacking Windham and Roberts, which brings all three of them in and Mark Curtis has to force them outside. Piper then lifts DDP's legs and knees him below the belt!

After the low blow, the KoW continue tagging in and out, cutting the ring off with “Hot Rod” as the spearhead of the attack. Anytime Dallas gets close to tagging, he's pulled back into the vortex of the KoW corner. Jarrett hooks a sleeper hold, and that very nearly puts Page out – Jesse says that if it were Piper's sleeper, he likely would be done by now. Dallas fights back though, managing to climb to his feet and groggily fires Jeff off to the ropes, and they collide with one another on the rebound, putting both men on the canvas! As Mark Curtis administers the ten count, both men begin the long, slow crawl back to their corner. Jarrett makes the tag off to Adams; but that isn't why the crowd goes crazy, it's because Page makes the tag to Roberts! Jake hits the ring and staggers the big man with punches, hitting a clothesline on him before dodging a charge by Kip, sending him flying into the turnbuckle post! Jarrett comes in again, but he gets nailed by a shoulder tackle by Bigelow! Windham goes around the ring and pulls Piper down to the floor, and he finally gets his hands on his rival! Page is in and he takes Kip out with the Diamond Cutter! Numerous officials, along with Mark Curtis, are outside the ring trying to maintain control as most of the brawls have spilled to the floor. “The Snake” stays in the ring, as Piper trades off with Adams. Brian fights with Windham on the floor, as Piper and Roberts are embroiled in a battle of fists. Jake manages to land his patented short-arm clothesline to big cheers, and the cheers grow louder as he signals for the DDT! He picks Roddy off the mat, and sets him up……….

……………. He nails it! Jake shoots the half nelson and makes the cover, but the brawl is still going on the outside! Roberts pounds his hand on the mat, trying to gain the attention, but to no avail. He goes over and starts trying to yell for Mark Curtis, however….

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/nickbockwinkel.jpg

Out walks Nick Bockwinkel! The former WCW Commissioner climbs onto the ring apron, catching Jake's eye. Tony notes how we haven't seen Nick in quite some time, but he did show up not long ago on one of WCW's weekend programs to talk to Harley Race and Devon King. Bockwinkel taunts Jake, but it's all a distraction!

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/wrath.jpg

“Look at the size of this man!” screams Schiavone, as he hammers on Roberts from behind! He sets Jake up with ease and drills him to the mat with a pumphandle into a running powerslam, and Bockwinkel is all smiles. Jesse says that he really dropped the bomb on Jake, as the man pulls Piper's arm over top of the destroyed Roberts. Nick goes over and shoves Mark Curtis, telling him to get into the ring, and he does so, counting 1!

……………...2!

……………………………………...3!

This one is over, and it's all because of Nick Bockwinkel and the two new members of the Kings of Wrestling!

Winners in 18:46: Kings of Wrestling

Notes: Brian Adams debuted a brute Biker gimmick, which rated B+, while the yet-unnamed Bryan Clark then debuted with a brute Man Beast gimmick, rating A.

Before the main event is introduced, we go to a special video package that recaps the destruction of Hollywood Hogan, Randy Savage not being handed the World championship as instead Dustin Rhodes wins the title at Battlebowl. It skips over Rhodes's title defenses (showing only clips of him facing Vader when Randy interfered in the matches) and cuts to Savage showing that he abducted Terri, wife of Dustin Rhodes! Savage announces the stipulation for the match, and it shows Dustin going crazy by assaulting Scott Hall and Syxx with field goal kicks between their uprights! The video ends with the announcer asking the big question: can Dustin keep his temper in check AND do all he can to defeat the wily veteran Savage, or is this going to be all too much for the young man to hold onto? The battle for the belt is now!

We pay special attention now to Gary Michael Cappetta as he introduces

our main event of the evening, to be contested for the World Heavyweight championship! He takes great measures to point out that if Dustin Rhodes is counted out or disqualified, he will lose the World's championship!

However the first man to come to the ring was specially invited by the champion, it's the representative of the WCW Championship Committee, our literal “Boss” as acting commissioner, Magnum TA!

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wcw-95/randysavage.jpg

Next out to the ring is the challenger. He comes accompanied by Woman, and is getting his very first chance at the WCW World title this evening. He is a former champion all over the world though, one of the greatest of all time, “The Macho Man” Randy Savage! Savage receives a loud smattering of boos from the crowd, though a lot of people still cheer Savage on as well. Tony seems baffled at why people love some members of the Kings of Wrestling, but Jesse says that it has to be due to people growing up loving people like “The Macho Man”.

WCW World Heavyweight champion, Dustin Rhodes, barely gets out of the entrance way before he rips off his jacket and runs for the ring! He removes the title as he slides into the ring, sliding it to Tommy Young and immediately throwing fists with Savage! Tommy calls for the bell as fast as he can, and the match has begun!

WCW World Heavyweight Championship: DQ Rules are Waived

“The Natural” Dustin Rhodes vs. “Macho Man” Randy Savage w/Woman

Time Limit: 60:00

Referee: Tommy Young

All action at the start of this as Savage thumbs Rhodes in the eyes. He whips Dustin into the ropes but he reverses and hammers Savage with a clothesline! Tony says that Dustin must have revenge in his eyes as he mounts Savage to rain hard right hands down on him, but Jesse says that he has to be hoping Tommy Young takes pity on him as he uses those fists, he could get disqualified right now! Tommy pulls Rhodes back, as Savage rolls out of the ring. Young keeps holding Rhodes back, as Savage regroups. He finally re-enters the ring, and the match starts more properly with a collar and elbow tie-up. Savage pushes the champion back into the ropes, and Tommy Young breaks it up – there is surprisingly a clean break. Another lock-up follows, but when the same happens again, Savage does not give the same courtesy, as he takes a cheap shot to Dustin's chin! Tommy Young is having a really hard time of keeping Dustin from going right after the challenger, as Ventura says that this has to be what “The Macho Man” is trying to do, getting under the champion's skin.

Magnum TA steps in, talking to Dustin and having him come outside the ring. Much to Woman's annoyance, he talks Rhodes down from being too upset, before “The Natural” re-enters the ring. Savage gets pushed into the corner now, and Dustin slaps him across the face! Savage's temper flares up now, as he charges in blindly, as Rhodes hits another palm strike to Savage, taking him down but Randy is right back up, and this time Dustin hits a big swinging body slam! He goes for a cover, but only scores a one-and-a-half count before Savage is back on his feet. The two seem at a stalemate, but it all seems to just be mental chess as the two athletes circle around the ring.

The challenger manages to come out ahead after a test of strength as he kicks Rhodes in the stomach, bringing him to the mat by simply grabbing Dustin's face and driving it into the mat. “Macho Man” drives an elbow into the back of Rhodes's neck, before lifting him up for a body slam of his own. Tony wonders if the early adrenaline rush of Dustin's revenge isn't wearing down, as now Randy goes to work on him with a side headlock. Rhodes tries to sling Savage into the ropes, but Savage is able to score with a shoulderblock that takes “The Natural” back down to the mat. Savage now hooks a reverse chinlock, digging his knee into the back of Dustin while ripping back on his face. The torque on the neck is severe, but Dustin refuses to give the match up. Woman pounds on the ring apron, but Magnum does the same, and it fires Rhodes up as he climbs to his knees! Savage no longer has the leverage advantage he did before, but he quickly drives an elbow into Dustin's forehead to regain the control. Savage snaps the neck of the champion over the top rope, keeping him down and doing even more damage to that area. “Macho Man” slides back into the ring and makes a cover, getting a quick two count. Savage sends Rhodes into the turnbuckle, and drives his face into the top before zeroing in a few well-placed punches. After those, Randy takes a moment to step back and pose, twirling his finger in the air. He charges, but Dustin dodges the running knee, causing the challenger to drive his left leg into the turnbuckles! Rhodes quickly with a small package!

1!

……….2!

……….No!

A very close fast roll up nearly ended this match, but not to be. Back on his feet fast as a cat, and Savage retakes the advantage with a running axe handle as the champion was trying to get to his feet. Savage drives a few knees into Rhodes's back and neck area, before planting him with a body slam in the center of the ring. Savage looks as though he is perhaps looking to set up for the flying elbow, but Dustin stirs by the time Randy climbs the ropes. Savage instead flies off with his patented double axe handle, but Dustin hits him in the stomach! Rhodes hits the ropes and nails a clothesline, and he begins rallying the crowd. He sends Savage into the ropes, no wait as Savage reverses. The challenger goes for a hip toss, but Dustin counters with a DDT! He goes for the cover!

1!

…………….2!

……………………………No!

So very close this time, but not quite! Savage gets a bit of separation by leaving the ring, but Dustin is right out after him! Jesse points out that we see Woman sneaking to the back, but Tony's focus is where Savage gets slammed face first into the ring apron! Dustin starts shoving Savage back into the ring, which breaks the count. But that's when Woman comes back out, and she has a chain in her hands…

… and at the other end of the chain is Terri! Terri is being dragged by her wrists, and she protests by pulling back, trying to pull away, but Woman forces her to come to ringside! Dustin Rhodes's attention is immediately off the match, and that gives Savage a chance to recover and shove him into the guardrail! Savage goes onto the ring apron and comes off with a double axe handle as Rhodes was laid across the guardrail, and Savage takes a moment to point at Terri. He tells her that her man is going down tonight, as she pleads to be released. Savage gets on the apron to deliver another axe handle, but takes too long to pay attention to Terri – and Dustin grabs Savage, throwing him onto the ring apron! Dustin rolls in and out of the ring to break the count, and now he is on the attack. He goes after Savage with reckless abandon, slamming him on the floor and even choking him with a television cable! Woman taunts Dustin, which causes him to release the cords. Dustin starts to lose his cool though, actually grabbing a steel chair! He is ready to use it, when both Tommy and Magnum stand in his way! The crowd are yelling for him not to do it, but seeing the mother of his children led around by a chain was too much! The champion is ready to destroy the challenger with the weapon, even shoving Magnum aside in the heat of the moment! Terri even seems to want him to do it, but she changes her tune and says not to. Rhodes finally kicks Randy in the stomach, but Magnum takes the chair away from him, ending this question before Dustin has a chance to make the wrong answer!

He stays after Savage though, chasing him around the ring. Randy then does one of the most despicable acts a man can do, by pulling Terri in front of Dustin! Tony says “what a macho man” but Jesse verbally shrugs, telling Tony he and the fans can say what he will, but at the end of the day it's a smart move. The fans definitely gave a loud, loud boo at those actions, and especially when Savage uses the distraction to go around the ring again and nail Dustin with a running knee in the back, forcing him into the turnbuckle post! He fires Rhodes back into the ring and makes the cover – putting his feet on the ropes for extra leverage!

1!

………….2!

……………………….No!!

Dustin wasn't even able to kick out, Tommy noticed the feet on the ropes and stopped the count! Savage gets into an argument with Young now, shoving the referee into the turnbuckle. But Tommy shoves him back! Dustin grabs on and pulls Randy into a school boy rollup!

1!

………………………….2!

………………………….Kickout!

The challenger is all fired up now, and he begins biting and scratching at Dustin, hammering him with sharp right fists to the face and then driving elbows into the chest! This barrage is vicious, and Tommy Young finally gets Savage to stop when he threatens to disqualify him! An irish whip by Savage puts Dustin in the turnbuckles, but this time “The Natural” comes charging out with a clothesline! Both men are down, and Tommy begins laying the ten count on both men.

Woman starts screaming at Savage to get up, but she gets distracted when Terri is yelling encouragement to Dustin. The two women go face to face, but get broken up by Magnum TA. Woman still leads Terri away from Magnum, glaring at the commissioner with complete and utter disdain. Both champion and challenger start getting to their feet, and they trade weak right hands. They start to hammer one another with their punches, with Dustin grabbing a side headlock. Savage shoves him into the ropes, but telegraphs a back body drop, so Rhodes drops to the mat and punches him! The champion goes for a pin, but only a near fall. Rhodes misses an elbow, and Savage takes over with a fist drop. Savage rushes to the top, and he smashes a double axe handle to the forehead of the champion! Savage goes up one more time, as the crowd begin to buzz – Tony says it must be time for the elbow! Jesse says this will be it if he hits it, as he raises his arms to the sky…

……….Miss! Dustin rolls out of the way, and he falls back into a cover as Savage holds his arm and ribs!

1!

…………………………...2!

…………………………………………...NO!

A long two count as Savage just barely kicks out at the last split second! Dustin now starts slamming his hand on the mat, and the crowd responds with clapping and stomping for their champion! “The Natural” starts calling for Savage to get to his feet, and he charges – but Savage drops down, meaning Dustin was unable to hook the bulldog that he was looking for! Both men have now dodged the bullet of their opponent's favorite maneuvers. Savage is ready to finish this match off and win the World championship, and he does so in the most visceral of ways: he tells Woman to give him the chain of Terri. Savage makes Terri climb onto the ring apron, and he begins to berate her, even threatening to slap her! Tommy Young tries to get involved, but he ends up mashed between Savage and a charging Dustin!

Rhodes shoves Savage into the turnbuckle and mounts the second rope, and the crowd counts along as he punches Savage nine times, before leaning over and biting Savage's forehead! With Tommy Young down, Dustin then puts Randy's legs over the ropes, looking for that field goal low blow that he gave Scott Hall and Syxx two weeks ago! The crowd buzz as he takes aim, notices where Tommy is looking, and then rushes in, nailing Savage with the low blow! “The Macho Man” holds his macho boys in the most intense of pain any man can feel, as Jesse says that just in the interest of playing devil's advocate, that should be an immediate disqualification!

Woman slithers into the ring now, but Magnum TA grabs her by the ankles and pulls her back to the floor! She tries to slap him, but he grabs her hand, and the two argue on the floor. As the match rages on between the two competitors, Terri retrieves the dropped key to her chains, and frees her wrists finally! Savage recovers while Dustin is trying to wake up Tommy Young, and he lands a flurry of punches on Rhodes before slamming him with a high vertical suplex. He then turns his attention towards Terri, who shows that her hands are free. Randy reaches to her, and she throws the chain into the ring! It slides between Savage's legs, but he picks up half of it – but so does Dustin, and he jerks it upwards to hit Savage with the chain in a low blow! Randy drops to his knees as Dustin ascends to the second rope, and he comes off with the bulldog! He throws the chain out as Terri looks first shocked but then cheers as Tommy Young starts the count!

1!

………………………………….2!

……………………………………………………….3!

It's over! This match is over! Woman is stunned and screaming at the top of her lungs as a groggy Savage is rolled outside.

But before the show ends, Dustin is handed his title belt – and Terri is finally able to enter the ring. She seems very surprised, before embracing her husband! Jesse Ventura does what he does best as a broadcaster, and just before the show goes off the air he asks the burning question: who was she throwing the chain to?!

Winner in 17:40: Dustin Rhodes

Notes: The match had a lack of psychology and drifted at some points. Dustin came across well during the post-match celebration with Terri, though.

Option 5: Mean Gene’s backstage pass!

The on-screen firing of the Rock 'n Roll Express and Heavenly Bodies on Nitro – while a cruel punishment for the four men by our “esteemed” Executive Vice President – was actually done legitimately, as the four's contracts ran out this past week. Also saying goodbye to WCW were Dewayne Bruce (Sgt. Buddy Parker), Alex Porteau, and cruiserweight Hysteria. It has been thrown around backstage that the word is WCW has just too many people collecting paychecks, and “spring cleaning” started a little early! There is no word as of yet for what role the Bodies' manager, Theodore R. Long, will be taking in the company yet. The Boulder and Earl William Clayton have also reported to Global Wrestling Federation for some fine tuning. In other news, King Puma showed off another super power before Pro as he made alcohol appear! Not to be outdone, the Dungeon of Doom sent The Annihilator to do some cartoon drawings of some of the other members of the roster. At SuperBrawl, Arn Anderson then provided the locker room with some of that “Horseman lifestyle” by bringing in the kind of alcohol they party with! After SuperBrawl, we hear that The Giant was complimented for his role in the World Tag Team title match, and Scott Steiner was praised for his performance. Dustin Rhodes was given some encouraging words. Dustin was very happy, Giant seemed pleased, and Scott was pleased. Also, you heard it here on the WCW Hotline first – Brian Adams is set to debut in World Championship Wrestling very soon, a huge steal from the WWF!

Option 6: The Monday Night War Neilson ratings!

This past Nitro was right on top of the world yet again, drawing a massive 7.9 rating on TNT! Raw pulled off a pathetic 4.42 rating over on USA – no surprise!

Option 7: Tony Schiavone’s moment of the week!

Dustin Rhodes got some measure of revenge this past week, as he regained his wife from the Kings of Wrestling after defeating Randy Savage at SuperBrawl! But who was she trying to help during the match?

Option 8: Mike Tenay’s International Report!

WCW and AAA worked out a huge deal to bring Jake Roberts into the company for SuperBrawl, and in exchange AAA will feature their homegrown hero, Rey Mysterio Jr.!

Option 9: A special gift from the WCW Catalog!

“The Granddaddy of 'Em All” has never been bigger than at Starrcade 1995! Order your own VHS copy of the show from the WCW Catalog now!

Thanks to some reworking of the tiebreaker questions (I took “what was the opening match” and made it “which match was closer to the opening match” just so that I wouldn't end up with a tie!) the winner for February's shows was SkipMartin! It appears as though Skippy has my number as of late! The Nickman just barely was beaten out for the win. I would like to thank you all for bearing with me for so damn long, and I hope you all enjoyed SuperBrawl!

God damn it Terri don't you do it!!!! K.o.W are becoming one of my favorite stables on these boards and just when you think they are weak they add more members!! Seriously this is some great stuff, I loved the Owen/Austin segment very funny. Jericho making his way up the card is what I am looking forward to, also I wonder if you will bring in Dwayne Johnson. I mean you have to right? Good stuff Beejus this universe is awesome.

Terri was throwing it to Savage that traitorous woman.

I assumed it was all a ruse and she was going to turn heel here. Interesting that the idea was teased but not confirmed.

Have to go to bed so can't give the lengthy comment I want, so I'll settle for saying that this was another awesome show, Beej. Oh, and Vader and Giant may be the most terrifying tag team this side of Hansen and Brody.

Thought I'd left a comment on the show already but I see that I haven't. I'll definitely echo everyone else and say that it was a great show. I loved the ending of the main event, lots of great intrigue. Some great surprises in there too--especially Jake The Snake. Oh and I'm glad you kept the belt on Dustin. Savage would obviously be a great champion too, but I really like how much you have elevated Dustin and I want to see him hold the belt a while yet.

Top notch quality as usual, man!

Well I was hoping to get Nitro posted today, but it just dawned on me that I hadn't done my month recap post yet, and also I was hoping to have the Hotline done at the same time and I don't, sooooo it will wait a little bit. I do have the show written, it's just logistics keeping me from posting it right now. In lieu of that, I will give you all some comments on feedback. I do so love me some feedback.

Epic dude just epic

Thanks!

I'm glad you like the KoW so much! There are a lot of stables around the various games on the board, so that is some high praise. Personally, I do feel like I haven't had as strong a KoW presence without Hogan, but I'm doing what I can to remedy that; but I'm also very glad that seems to just be me looking at it from my perspective - after all, I'm always my harshest critic! The Owen stuff was probably my favorite to write, because I really love doing the small comedy bits when I get a chance to. Sometimes this game just feels way too serious and needs to lighten up. Honestly, I don't know if I ever intend on bringing Dwayne in; I may at some point, it depends on if I find a place for him. Thanks for your words, and hey, I read your diary the other day too! It's good stuff, even if it isn't a time period I'm familiar with. But much thanks for the shout out in your foreword!

Great show!!! Terri was throwing it to Savage that traitorous woman. Dustin paid for her chest and now she going to betray him.

Wow, no faith in the supposedly loyal wife? Aren't we all a jaded bunch? :p

I kinda had a feeling given your comment on the match in predictions that you figured she would be turning. Will she?! Won't she?! TENSION! DRAMA! :D

Even scarier about Vader and Giant may just be the in-game things about them. Vader and Woman have awesome chemistry as client/manager, but also Vader and Giant have great chemistry as partners. This team did not come together lightly, and they will definitely be quite a team to beat in the future.

Great show as usual, Beej. Shocking debut after shocking debut. Mysterio pinning Stevie Ray. That treacherous jezebel Terri. Vader and the Giant forming the most-physically imposing tag team in the sport. And the Austin/Owen segments were golden.

For one thing, your prizes were PM'd to you, Skippo. I had the Brians signed and could have debuted about a week prior to Superbrawl, but it took me a little bit to decide what to do with them. For the record, when I had said that DiBiase was bringing someone to team with Simmons and Steamboat, it was a possible avenue I was going to take Clarke on. Instead, I decided against it, and into the KoW he went in order to further bolster their numbers - and I feel like that was the right choice.

Thought I'd left a comment on the show already but I see that I haven't. I'll definitely echo everyone else and say that it was a great show. Okay, so this has been bothering me ever since predictions for Superbrawl started going up. Dustin really seems to be a "middle ground" champion, where people really seem to feel that he's completely transitional. From the inside looking out rather than the outside looking in, Dustin is a solid champ; and that seems to be the ongoing opinion. I would hope that more people can weigh in on this, because I'm very curious as to where the line is drawn on him. As for everything else, I'm always happy to bring in Jake for a little bit, and rest assured that I intend on keeping him around beyond this one appearance.

As for other comments I've seen around, I want to really thank all those who put War of the Thrones in their votes for DOTM this month. I really tried hard to make this month worthy of your votes (like I was unable to do last month) but what has really made me feel amazing is the people saying things like "nobody does a PPV like Beejus". Thank you all for that support, because it really does mean a lot. Here's to hoping I can keep this up as we move forward, as the War marches on! TUNE IN TOMORROW NIGHT ON NITRO TO FIND OUT!

I like Dustin a lot; as I said heading into Starrcade, I thought his feud with Flair and the Horsemen was a game changer for him and elevated him into a legitimate main eventer. He's one of my favorite characters in this dynasty, perhaps even second only to Pillman. My only reasoning in thinking his title reign might be short-lived, other than smelling a potential double cross from Terri, is that he seems like more of a "the money is in the chase" character, much like his dad.

I see Dustin as a transitional guy at the moment because despite having an incredible chase with his dad and the feud with the Horsemen, he hasn't solidified himself as an actual champion. Add in the fact he never won the big one IRL and the fact that he's going up against a lot of main eventers who did win the big one in WCW or WWF, then the perception is that he's going to lose eventually of course...

Which is what you as the booker would want to remedy, I can see. I suppose you could go the Hulk routine of having him take on all-comers, the actual intention that Sting never quite managed to be. IMO, I still think Austin has more upside and capability as the centerpiece of the company than Dustin does, but that doesn't mean Dustin's got to drop it soon.

If I had to describe it... Dustin is Hirooki Goto, if Hirooki Goto won the IWGP Heavyweight title. He's finally done it, it's a great feeling, but... is it just a one-time thing, or is he reaching a new level? What's left for "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes, after becoming the man? Is Goldust still in his future? Will the American Dream's baby-boy become ... The American Nightmare?

It's all a wait and see thing of course, but I'm more interested in seeing where Dustin goes after his title run than during it, and how he gets there rather than how long his reign lasts. If that makes sense.

I think your booking Dustin great at the moment. You have him booked as the underdog champion in way same way as Vince did Hogan in 84. Meaning every heel declared Hogan couldn't hold the title he was a lucky to be champ and they were going to be the one to dethrone him. Only he always came out with the win. You have booked him so it looks like he keeps getting lucky defending the title against Vader and Savage. It's pretty much the way Flair was booked as champion in the NWA days were he always made the opponent look great. While WWF made Hogan, Savage look great as champions but also made the opponents looks great as well, but still gave their champion clear cut victories.

Who ever the next opponent will be I say have him give Dustin props for being a better and deserving champion then what was expected of him. They use to do this back in the day, build up the champion in interviews, but also tell him that their reign would end when they faced them.Or have announcers say he is proving to be a great deserving champion have others hype him up. It will help get Dustin over as champion just like the WWF announcers use to do with their champions. Giving Dustin a year or so reign will also help him out. Be honest I see Dustin and Austin as the future World Champions of your WCW.

As others say I agree with them real life worked against Dustin as he never was World Champion because he was fired from WCW and went to the WWF and was given a gimmick that defined his career. Under all that makeup and stuff was great and talented wrestler. To pull the Goldust gimmick off took someone very talented as Dustin was and he had great success with it, but it also hampered his career because WWF was not willing to give their World Title to him because how controversial that gimmick was. When he went back to WCW he was first given a child abductor gimmick and didn't get along with Vince Russo.

An if he wasn't as good as he is the WWE would stop bringing him back so many times.

I think Dwayne could defiantly could have a place, I mean its The Rock! On the Dustin thing, I am loving him as champ but I do see him as a better character chasing the gold and a run as him as Goldust or something similar could be fun. However after reading Superbrawl Dustin as this angry anxious champion is a very interesting character that I can see sticking around for the next few months. Pillman winning the gold may just be the highlight of the diary if it ever happens. Also I just can't think of you are going to push to bring an end to KoW because it has to happen eventually, I'm thinking Austin or Pillman or Sting. And thanks for checking out my diary, hopefully when Backlash ever drops you enjoy it and it gets close to the great stuff on this diary.

WCW Monday Nitro

March 4th, 1996

Held at: The Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Connectivcut (New England)

Commentary: Tony Schiavone and Jesse “The Body” Ventura

Attendance: 10,000 (sold out!)

Show Runtime: Two Hours

Rating: B+

This show increased our popularity in 33 regions.

Kings in their Court

The show opens cold in the locker room of the Kings of Wrestling. The image we see is in black and white, as Roddy Piper and Eric Bischoff stand before the collective. Bischoff addresses the group, talking about how last night, the majority of their plans were played to perfection. He gives special attention to California Kip, saying that he was a great “pivot man” in the eight man tag match, and says that tonight, he feels Kip has a great shot in his match against Lex Luger. He mentions the big Tag title win by the team he calls “The KoW Monsters” Vader and The Giant, saying that no mere mortal men will be able to take the belts back from them now. He talks about Savage getting another shot at Dustin and the World title in two weeks at Uncensored, and that is when we will strike gold for the Kings of Wrestling yet again, and prove why they are the best in the entire sport of professional wrestling.

Notes: Piper looked good as the smirking sidepiece here. Kip's new cocky Chosen One gimmick rated an A*, a perfect 100.

Rating: B+

Last Week on Monday Nitro

We now get still frame pictures of SuperBrawl courtesy of WCW Magazine, as Tony Schiavone narrates them. After we see those, we go to Tony, Jesse Ventura, and Gene Okerlund at the commentary booth for some more words from them about the show. They mention the segment we just saw with the KoW, and Jesse says that aside from not winning the World title, it was a night for the Kings. Their focus eventually falls upon one thing: Terri Rhodes. The question remains, who was she trying to help at the end of SuperBrawl?

Notes: Tony improvised well, and Jesse had masterful interactions with the crowd.

Rating: B-

Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. “Youth Warrior” Juventud Guerrera

An exciting match to open the card, as Mike Tenay joins Tony and Jesse to call what we hope will settle these two's score for a time. It is pointed out that while still a very athletic match, the participants spend more time fighting than flying, as they show that this rivalry has really taken it's toll on them. About halfway through the contest, Syxx makes an appearance outside the ring, watching on. Mysterio invites him in, but he doesn't make any moves toward the ring itself. Rey picks up the victory by rolling out of the way of a 450 Splash, but Guerrera lands on his feet like a cat; but he turns around right into a hurricanrana, and the three count registers when Rey grabs Juvi's legs. Syxx leaves, as commentary wonder just what he was doing out there.

Match Time: 11:32

Rating: C-

Sibling Rivalry?

We now go to pre-taped interview segment featuring “Mean” Gene Okerlund. Gene is with Rick and Scott Steiner, the former World Tag Team champions. He asks them for some thoughts on what they intend on doing now, if they want to get a rematch and when that may be. Rick starts to answer him, when Scott cuts him off! Scott says that Rick is the reason they lost the titles, saying that Scott told him not to go out there and badmouth Sting, “but he had to be big brother and know better, well now look what happened!” Rick has no answer for this, except that he knows they'll get the belts back, but Scott doesn't want to hear it. He throws the microphone down, telling Rick to “get in the game, man, or else we won't even get back in the ring with those big goofs” and leaving! Rick apologizes to Gene, then goes chasing after his brother to try and calm this down, as Gene is gobsmacked by this turn of events.

Rating: B

Enough!

Our scene when we come back from break is sheer pandemonium! Meng, Paul Orndorff, Terry Gordy, and Bubba Rogers, who have all been ready to beat the tar out of one another (as Tony says) appear to have gained a few friends, as now Stevie Ray, Ron Simmons, and Dave Finlay are also in the mix! Finally, as security are trying to keep this fight from destroying the arena, Magnum TA arrives on the scene. He tells them all to stop it or face suspension, saying that if they want to all fight so much, then at Uncensored we will see a no disqualification, only pinfall or submission battle royal for the United States title! He tells them all to leave the arena if they don't have a match scheduled for tonight, and may the toughest bastard win!

Notes: Finlay underperformed.

Rating: C

Harley's New Tandem

Harley Race is alone in the ring, and he says that last night we saw two huge debuts for the Kings of Wrestling. He says that while Nick was the one bringing one of them into the fold, the other was completely his – and with that, he is out here to introduce his new tag team. He talks about how last night apparently there was a great wake-up call to one of the KoW men; he decided to wash the paint off his face and be himself, and as such Harley introduces us to “The Beast” Brian Adams and “The Smasher” Barry Darsow. He says that there have been a lot of big, bad bikers in wrestling, but none are as deadly as his new Chain Gang!

With that intro, Brian and Barry ride down the aisle on a motorcycle, and they climb into the ring after effectively scaring the hell out of their opponents tonight.

The match itself is VERY short, as the Chain Gang basically run over Bobby Walker and Biff Wellington within seconds. They toy with the duo for a few moments before hitting what Harley is heard calling the “Hard Ride” from ringside (which is really just the former Demolition Decapitation) before Barry pins Walker. Jesse wonders how long it will take until we may end up seeing a biker gang war here in WCW!

Match Time: 3:13

Notes: Adams came out of the match looking good. Darsow has debuted a brute Biker gimmick, and it rated a solid B-.

Ratings: C+ / D+

No Respect

“The Outsider” Scott Hall is seen backstage, not seeming all that worried about the loss he had last night as he struts around like he owns the place. He walks upon a woman at the catering area who we see from behind, and without even bothering to find out who it is, he grabs her butt! She spins around, and then we see who it is – Bonnie Steamboat! Hall smiles a smarmy grin (“Hey yo, girl”) and tells her that if she ever wants to “cut loose and be with a real man instead of some lizard” she knows where to find the Kings locker room! Ricky is instantly on the scene, breaking this up before his wife can slap Hall – which she was fully about to do. “The Dragon” gets right in Scott's face, telling him that he has no respect for anything, and maybe he needs somebody to beat some into him! Hall tells Steamboat “any time, chico” because many have tried, and all but three men have always failed! This seems like something we need Eric or Magnum to make a ruling on, as this match will be incredible!

Rating: B-

Surge vs. Devon King w/Harley Race

Mike Tenay joins Tony here as Jesse is said to be backstage preparing his notes for The Body Shop later this evening. Devon fights the superhero with great resolve, which Tony credits him for, but as per usual it actually falls apart once King tries to listen to Harley Race. However, a saving grace comes when The Willow and Dr. Karnage step out of the shadows. As soon as Surge sees them, he immediately begins convulsing, and he falls backwards into a lifting inverted DDT that nets Devon a big win! But what happened to Surge?

Match Time: 7:10

Rating: C-

Two Very Large, Very Angry Men

“Mean” Gene is in the building, and he takes this time to urge fans to call the WCW Hotline to find out who went too far before the show went on the air and ended up out the door! He then brings in Hawk and Animal, the Road Warriors, who are in a foul mood after what happened last night. Animal says that it isn't like they forgot that the Horsemen were going to cheat to get a victory – they expected it! He says that in a way, he is somewhat happy that they did, because now it gives them extra incentive to meet them in the ring yet again! When prompted, Hawk tells 'em that he may be beaten, battered, and bruised, but that just happened because he and Animal stopped by a bar and had to clean the place out because he didn't like the way the “basement dwellers” looked at them! Hawk says that there's one thing that they like better than beating down Horsemen, and that's doing it their way: in a Chicago Street Fight! Gene says that Uncensored is coming up in only two weeks on the 17th, and Hawk says that sounds fine to him. Animal says that they talked to Magnum, and he says that as soon as the Horsemen find the two of them with the bigger set who want to step into the ring, they'll be there at the Palace of Auburn Hills waiting for them! Hawk closes with a loud “What a Rush!” as Okerlund sends us back out to the ring!

Rating: B-

“Total Package” Lex Luger vs. California Kip w/Woman

From the outset of this match it is all Luger, all the time. He pastes the upstart Kip early on with a clothesline and does not relent as Lex works through his entire move set (which, to be fair, isn't a whole lot) until he drills him to the mat with a powerslam. However, just as he is signaling to close this match off with the Torture Rack, a Sting appears at ringside! Is it the fake Sting or not? Tony is confused, and so is Luger, who looks into the cold glare and has to get a better look. Sting backs away as Lex chases, and at the second that Kip gets Randy Anderson's attention, Sting nails Luger with the baseball bat! The count continues, and much to the disgust of the entire arena, Kip scores a count out victory over “The Total Package” all thanks to a Sting!

Kip quickly leaves the area before Luger can recover, as Lex gets groggily back to his feet. As he is being informed what happened, the arena is filled with a loud thunder clap! Look, Jesse says, up in the rafters! Sting is there! Lex finally notices him, and he urges Sting to come see him, but instead Sting merely turns his back and walks away! Is this a sign of what Sting thinks of WCW?

Match Time: 9:58

Ratings: C- / B

“The Natural” Arrives

Backstage, we see that “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes has arrived, along with his wife, Terri! Tony says that they are here to speak to Magnum TA, and then will be out in the arena later to address the WCW fans!

Rating: B

The Body Shop

When we are back from commercial break, Jesse Ventura is in the ring for The Body Shop. His guests tonight are none other than the Four Horsemen, led to the ring by 12-time World Heavyweight champion “Nature Boy” Ric Flair. Flair does the talking here, as Jesse says that as good a night as the Kings of Wrestling have gloated about having last night at SuperBrawl, the Horsemen were just as victorious. Ric says that it is further proof that as much as the KoW can talk about being the best in the sport, the Horsemen are still the symbol of elite excellence in wrestling, because instead of just talk about it, they go out and prove it in the ring! Flair says that sure, Owen didn't defeat Austin; but he was a man about it, and he held up his end of the bargain like only a Horseman does! And when asked about the Road Warriors, Flair says that he and “Double A” turned those two meatheads into the road kill! The crowd boos pretty loudly at that analogy, and so does Tony as he reiterates that they only won the match due to Horsemen shenanigans. “The Nature Boy” struts around, saying that the Road Warriors had nothing on the road women that the Horsemen took to the no-tell motel and rode “Space Mountain” after Superbrawl!

Before Flair continues, he's interrupted by the cheers for the approaching Steve Austin! Austin enters the ring, as Jesse even seems surprised to see him out here. Owen starts talking trash to Austin from behind the wall of other Horsemen, but Steve tells him he isn't out here to see him, so “you and the little beaner over there can go with mommy Anderson to the kiddie table so the adults can talk business” before turning his full attention to Ric Flair. Flair starts to tell Austin that it doesn't matter what he does, because he's still not the elite, he's not a Horseman, and he never will be! Austin simply responds… “shut up.” Austin says that he's going to lay something out here; he says that he was told in the back earlier that the Uncensored card is filling up pretty fast, and that a lot of talent may end up getting left off. He says that he can't have that, because that's money out of Austin's pocket, and he needs that money to keep drinking his beer and driving his trucks around Texas. So, being possibly not the smartest man out there, he figures the only way to ensure his paycheck, because Eric Bischoff is still looking for any excuse to cut him out of the show anyways, is to come out here and make a deal with the devil he knows – that being Flair, who tore down the house with Austin on Nitro just recently. Austin says that he loves a good fight, and since their match didn't have the greatest ending anyways, how about we do it all again on the 17th on pay-per-view! Flair struts around the ring, letting “woo”s fly to the air all around, before Jesse reels him in by saying that this could be a huge match, and one that could mean a lot of money for whoever is the winner. Flair answers in the typical over-exaggerated Flair way: “W – C – W – WOO – UN – WOO – CENSORED! 'DA NAYCHA BOY!' STEVE AUSTIN! We gonna walk, that aisle! We gonna, style! We gonna profile! Woo! And we gonna beat the crap out of one another, all – night – long – WOOOOOO!” Austin merely smiles, backing away before the Horsemen could potentially jump him, and pointing at Flair, telling him he'll see him at Uncensored!

Notes: Flair's performance was good in the initial interview, and was superb off-script. Eddy seemed to underperform, though. Once Austin came out, Jesse performed well off-script, seeming to come alive with the crowd. Flair and Austin also improvised well off one another.

The Four Horsemen (Owen Hart & Eddy Guerrero) w/Bobby Heenan vs. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and “The Blackjack” Barry Windham

Before the match, we head backstage where “Mean” Gene is standing by alongside “The Dragon” and “The Blackjack” who have words about the KoW before their match with the Horsemen. Steamboat is incensed, talking about how Scott Hall needs to learn some respect, and he doesn't care if he caves his chest in with chops, he will teach him the meaning of the word! Windham says that one of these days, Piper will stop ducking him, and he'll be there to lariat him back to movies!

The match itself is an art form, as four men with experience from all around the world meet in a great tag team affair. Steamboat's fury is hard for him to hold back, as Tony says that he must be seeing Scott Hall in the faces of both Owen and Eddy, but that rage nearly costs him as he finds himself going too far and the young Horsemen recruits getting the advantage. Hart locks “The Dragon” in an Indian Deathlock at one point, but Steamboat manages to get the ropes before he starts making a comeback with double handed chops that light up the chest of the Canadian. But before Steamboat is able to get things really rolling, he's attacked from out of the ring by a chair – Scott Hall! Mark Curtis calls for the bell from the blatant interference.

Owen and Eddy leave in disgust along with Heenan at their match being ruined (Jesse saying that is why they call him “The Brain” but Tony just calls him a weasel) as Windham comes in to help Steamboat fight off Hall. But the trap is sprung, as Vader and The Giant arrive in the ring, and one huge chokeslam ends Barry's involvement! The KoW Monsters do the same to Steamboat as Hall looks back and watches on, Giant drilling him with a chokeslam before Vader drops a big splash on him! Hall steps in with a can of spraypaint, and he paints “KoW” on the backs of both Steamboat and Windham!

Tony is about to send us to commercial, but wait – as the KoW are leaving the ring, Giant is jumped from the guardrail by Cactus Jack! Jack and Giant are all over one another, and a slew of officials can't even stop them! It takes a horde of other wrestlers to step in and separate them, as we finally go to that commercial break!

Match Time: 9:44

Notes: During the attack, Vader came across well but Windham underperformed.

“All-American” Ron Simmons vs. “Macho Man” Randy Savage w/Woman

Another huge match on a Nitro full of them says Tony, as Ron is running on some momentum following his team overcoming Johnny B. Badd and Harlem Heat last night. Savage, however, is looking to get back on track toward a future World title rematch, but only one man can get what he wants here. Simmons nearly takes Savage's head off a with a flying shoulder tackle, but Woman puts his foot over the bottom rope so that he doesn't get counted out. Savage comes back with a flying axe handle to the outside while Ron is telling Woman to stay out of his match, and he sends him back into the ring to hit the flying elbow for the win. Jesse stirs the pot a little with Schiavone by saying that “women keep getting involved to help Savage in his matches lately” but Tony gets in an argument with him over it.

Match Time: 12:26

Rating: B+

The Next Chapter is Announced

“The Macho Man” gets a microphone as Simmons is being assisted to the back after the match. Savage says that obviously, Terri's throwing arm isn't all that good, or else we'd have a new World champion tonight. The crowd boos loudly, as Savage says that the plan was simple, the execution was flawless, except that “bottle blond” couldn't get it right! Jesse says that this proves Terri was trying to help Savage, that she's a traitor and a turncoat, but Tony says that Savage has to be just feeding the mind games to get Dustin out here.

It doesn't take long until he is, as “The Natural” enters the arena with his championship around his waist and his wife at his side! Dustin has a microphone of his own, and he says that he and Terri talked it over and they agree that Randy should shut his mouth! He says that he trusts his wife to be at ringside, but he doesn't trust anything that Savage and “that pack of KoW jackals” as far as he can see them – and that's why to make up for what Randy and the KoW did by taking Terri as a hostage, Magnum TA and the WCW Championship Committee have given Dustin the option of making another match between the two for Uncensored! He says that he weighed his options. He says that it seems like each time he tries to defend his World title, something happens to make it still seem like a fluke. Rhodes says that it was no fluke that he won this championship, and it will be no fluke when he voluntarily takes Randy Savage on one more time at WCW Uncensored inside a fifteen foot high steel cage! The crowd goes crazy at that announcement, as Savage stares at Dustin from the ring, nodding. Tony says that will be a huge match, and you will only be able to see it live in two weeks at WCW Uncensored!

Notes: Dustin used the freedom to improvise to his advantage and worked the crowd well.

Another very solid nitro Beej. Especially liked the Austin/Flair segment, and I'm excited to see them throw down again. I have a weird feeling about Flair - he seems to typically come off as a face(showing respect to Dustin, agreeing to fight Austin), but he's still hanging around with those damn horseman and still is the "dirtiest player in the game". Polarizing, but that's kinda how Flair is in real life.
