Modern Warriors 14 (Real World Mod)

Recommended Posts

Went through and fixed some errors with the female fighters, but I sadly didn't think to keep track of the changes until after I was done. Sorry. :o

A few specific things that I remember:

  • Some women have their reach set to the default 72 inches. You can use the filter and 'mod maker +' thing to see which ones. [EDIT: Sorry, I was mistaken. I don't think you can check that easily] I make that mistake really often myself. You might actually want to take a sweep through the women and check their heights and birthdates against the Sherdog records. If Sherdog is right (and I'm not entirely confident that they are), a lot of corrections need to be made. I'm guessing it's just a case of information being updated after you've already added the fighters to the database using some guesswork.
  • The picture for Casey Noland is actually one of her opponents, Amy Riehle. This is Casey: [1][2][3]
  • Similarly, the picture for Lisa Jeanson is Jennifer Berg. This is Lisa: [1] [2]
  • Hari Hari should be named Mika 'Hari' Harigai. I think she may have been one of those fighters where Sherdog just lists their name like that because they don't have more information. One of her opponents is 'Yuiga Yuiga', so that was my best guess.
  • Cassie Rodich should be named Cassie Rodish.
  • Sadae Suzumura is now known as Sadae Numata.
  • Alexandra Sanchez is now known as Alexandra Buch.
  • It was already mentioned, but Cristiane Santos is Cristiane Justino again.

I also second (or third or fourth) the earlier suggestions to add some of the more notable female fighters who aren't included. There's a list of fighters who could fill out the ranks a bit in this post, and I feel like the following in particular are pretty much essential:

Alex Chambers - 4-1 with fights in Invicta and Jewels

Bec Hyatt - 5-2, signed with Invicta and getting a ton of hype

Brenda Gonzales - 4-1, a KOTC champion, recently fought Rin Nakai

Jessamyn Duke - 3 fights in Invicta (2 wins, 1 loss-turned-NC), and looks like she's gonna be a big deal soon

Jessica Andrade - 9-2, taking Miesha's place against Liz Carmouche in the UFC

Rose Namajunas - 2-0, both fights with Invicta. She's one of the most talked about female prospects right now, and she's fighting at Invicta 6

Tecia Torres - Fighting Namajunas at Invicta 6, and much like Rose she's 2-0 (both fights with Invicta) and looks like a future star

Veronica Rothenhausler - Made her debut with Invicta and attracted a lot of attention with a big knockout. She's also fighting at Invicta 6

...And the following will also be fighting at Invicta FC 6, so they'd be logical additions:

Cassie Robb

Duda Yankovich

Emily Kagan

Livia Von Plettenberg

Miriam Nakamoto

Only Yankovich is making her debut with Invicta.

Really though, as long as that original list is, I feel like it would be worth adding nearly everyone in it (other than Laura D'Auguste and Little Tiger) at some point, or at least taking a look to see if you think they're notable enough. Typical for women's MMA, there are some who are becoming very recognizable despite their less-than-impressive records (like Paige VanZant and Raquel Pennington), and others who have good records against less-than-impressive competition.:p

Sorry for the long post. I hope it helped.

I second all of this. I know a few people said they delete all of the female fighters before they start, but women's MMA is on the rise and potentially looking at a boom once the new season of the Ultimate Fighter starts airing. I'm sort of biased because I play with Invicta every time, but women's divisions are also spreading across other MMA companies and some depth in the game will definitely help.

I know this probably isn't the place to ask, but I figured I'd get the best response. Is there any way to increase the activity of the CPU promotions? as many fighters will only get one fight a year especially in the UFC.

The CPU booking is atrocious unfortunately. There isn't really a fix for it.

That's why I always run the UFC in real world games, unless I'm focusing solely on WMMA. The AI just can't run it properly, and it's hard to watch.

The frequency of events seems to be based on company size (someone correct me if I'm wrong), so the only way that I know to get the UFC to run shows more often is to increase their popularity.

However, with so many fighters on their roster, the AI is never going to run UFC shows often enough to keep everyone busy. Your best bet may be to lower the 'target amount' of their weight classes in the editor so that they start trimming the fat more aggressively. Those fighters will probably get more attention once they sign with smaller promotions, and you can increase the popularity of those promotions to get them running shows more often. Maybe bring back Pride or Strikeforce to pick up some of the bigger names.

You might need to increase the target amount of the divisions for some of those companies. I haven't checked.

Another thing I've considered (but never tried) is splitting the UFC into two or three promotions before I start the game. It's far from ideal, but it might get people fighting more regularly. For example:

Promotion 1: Heavyweight, Light Heavyweight, Middleweight

Promotion 2: Welterweight, Lightweight, Featherweight

Promotion 3: Bantamweight, Flyweight, Women's Bantamweight

The problem with that is that there are a bunch of different things you'd have to fix in the editor to set that up, some of which would be a real pain in the ass.

EDIT: I'm actually playing a game right now where I made the Modern Warriors database more like the C-Verse, where the talent is spread out and there's a lot more competition between promotions. All I did was delete the company-specific information like promotions, titles and fight histories, then I imported my custom promotions (with weight classes set up to accommodate the huge and lopsided number of fighters in the mod) and started the game. Everyone is unemployed at first, and soon you see the big names spread all over the world instead of stuffed into one promotion. I know that's not what you're looking to do, but I'm just throwing it out there as an idea. It certainly gets people fighting more often if the promotions are given appropriate popularity levels. :)

Thanks, I'll give a few of them a try.

Is Legacy Fighting Championships going to be added? I think they've got the popularity to be in the mod now.

not yet, mostly regional fighters with like one notable per event. it could happen but i'm not desperate to add more regional promotions. Cage Warriors is probably next to come in.
